United Kingdom Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Bolton-le-Sands

2 miles from the M6, close to the beautiful Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the 2 universities. A room with 2-4 beds is available on another listing. Continental breakfast is served in the conservatory overlooking a pretty garden and a fishpond.
I have 2 rooms to let. One which sleeps 4 and another that sleeps one. The large room has a wash basin. There is Wifi in the bedrooms. There are 2 shared shower rooms.
My home is situated in a cul de sac, very quiet area of the town and has a large pretty garden with fish pond which you can wander about in, or relax in, on a warm summer's day. There is room for your car on the drive.
  • Relaxed and welcoming home from home. I stayed here for 3 nights while attending a conference at Lancaster University. It was easy to find and to park, then it was a very convenient 5-minute bus ride to the campus itself. The residential neighbourhood is very quiet. The room was well-equipped and homely in style, and the free wifi was really useful. Rosemary went out of her way as a host, offering cooked breakfast, buying in yoghurt especially for me and even driving me to the campus herself on the last day. The only issue was a 2nd guest who arrived on the last night - her use of the bathroom early in the morning meant a much-shortened sleep, but there was nothing Rosemary could have done about this. The bathroom is just very audible in the single room.

  • I loved staying with Rosemary for a few days. My room was very homely and the breakfast (including homemade jam!) was delicious. The house is between town and Lancaster University, so perfect if you are visiting the university. I even got a lift from the railway station. Thanks Rosemary!

  • My experience with Rosemary is wonderful. Rosemary is a perfect host. She is very considerate and always there for me. In the morning, she prepared delicious breakfast which contained all kinds of food and fruit. In the night, sometimes she shared life experiences with me, and sometimes we watched DVDs together. Also, she did the laundry for me which was so sweet. And in the end of my stay, Rosemary took me to the railway station. I felt very grateful. The single bedroom of the house is neat, comfortable and warm. I love it so much. The other parts of the house are also very lovely. I enjoyed eating breakfast ,watched TV and read books in those rooms very much. Rosemary's house locates in a convenient place. It only takes around 10 minutes both to the University and city center by bus. The bus stations are very near to the house. You can walk to them within 5 minutes. All in all, Rosemary and her house make me feel like back at home. I am very looking forward to stay with her again, and I fully recommend her place to all bnb-ers!

  • I stayed at Rosemary's house twice. Rosemary was a great host. She was very welcoming, kind and helpful, and the room - and house as a whole - was really cosy. Breakfast was great, and there was a good choice. Thanks Rosemary!

Morecambe is a seaside town in Lancashire, on England’s northwest coast. Previously made of three fishing villages Bare, Poulton and Torrisholme until the 19th Century when they joined together to form Morecambe. By around 1850 Morecambe had a railway built, connecting west yorkshire to the growing town. People would come from Skipton, Keighley and Bradford to enjoy the budding seaside resort and by the mid 20th century Morecambe was thriving. It became home to the Miss Great Britain beauty contest in 1956 for 33 years and became a popular spot for holidaymakers across the UK. The Bay is a large estuary just to the south of the Lake District National Park. It is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom. The view from Morecambe is magnificent, offering a glimpse of the lakes, barrow, walney island. The Bay is a great place for outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, horseriding, and kitesurfing. With so much for children and adults to discover, Morecambe Bay is a perfect place to relax, explore and enjoy.
  • Wonderful warm welcome and very helpful, clean and tidy every day with fresh towels, warm inside and comfy bed to sleep on.

  • Fantastic place to stay. I will definitely be coming back soon.

    Stuart2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is the first time I've booked with Airbnb and I was pleasantly surprised . I have attempted to book previously at another accomodation in Lancaster but they would only take bookings for a minimum of a week and I only work 2 or 3 days in the area . Fay took my booking for the one night and looked after me superbly. The room was spotless and the bed and linen was immaculate. Considering my experience , I though the accomodation was excellent and under priced and I would definitely recommend it .

  • We really enjoyed our 4 days here, especially the lively breakfasts in the morning and great views from the garden. Both Sara and Matthew were happy to assist with anything we needed during our stay.

    Andy2015-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my boyfriend stayed at Sara and Matthew's place for 3 nights. When we arrived we received warm welcome. The room was very cosy with an amazing view of the sea. The room also had a mini fridge, a laptop to use and tea and coffee facilities which came very handy after a long day of hiking. Grange over Sands is a beautiful city, very near to Windermere lake. Both Sara and Matthew are very nice people and we will definitely come back if we visit Lake District again.

    Kristyna2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Sara and Matthew for a great stay. The room was very comfortable, quiet and private. The view is spectacular, if we'd been there in the warmer months we would have enjoyed it even more. We would definately come back.

    Fiona2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sara & Matthew are excellent hosts, ensuring that all our needs and wants are met. They are hospitable and accommodating - helpful with suggestions yet allowing us space to ourselves. We had a room all to ourselves - separate from the main house - with a separate entrance & key thus affording us privacy & much freedom & flexibility. The room is fully furnished with toilet, & sufficiently equipped even with a laptop for our use - truly home away from home. Breakfast is brought to us in the morning - and much earlier on the last day before we set out for our next destination. Location is quite high up, thus providing good physical exercise if walking down to town - then walking back up!! Thanks Airbnb & Matthew + Sara - and would recommend to (website hidden) PN + MH (14-16 Sep 2014) +++++=====

    Paul2014-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about Sara and Matthew - they were amazing hosts. We were greeted like friends when we arrived and supplied with tea and freshly baked cake - what more can you ask for on a cold, rainy January afternoon? They brought us great coffee and croissants every morning, lent us a laptop so we could use the internet and listen to the radio, let us store our bikes with theirs, let me borrow a hair dryer as I was daft and had forgotten to bring mine, recommended good pubs and fab cycling routes (highly recommend the pheasant and taking your bike across windermere on the ferry). Just lovely people basically. Their house is amazing - we had serious home envy. The room is adorable - comfy bed, cosy room, a kettle and a hot, powerful shower. Everything you need basically. In case you didn't guess we pretty much loved it!

    Caroline2014-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Sara were the perfect hosts and so much more. They emailed to make sure they knew when we were arriving so everything was ready, met us on arrival, took time to chat and give us some local info and even offered us a lift to a nearby venue where we were to attend a wedding. Sara even produced a map (here's one I made earlier) to show us some great locations for walking ... which we took her up on, incidentally, and had a great walk up near Windemere. The bottle of wine in the room, great breakfast, brought to the table in the morning, chats and cups of tea and warm atmosphere made for an absolutely brilliant stay. Thank you both !

  • Fay and Rob were absolutely fantastic hosts: they were very friendly people, and they gave me a really thorough tour of everything when I arrived. The accommodation itself was brilliant - a large, nicely decorated and comfortable room, with a very comfortable bed - and was incredibly good value. The location within Morecambe is very central - close to the sea, and easy walking distance from the train station and main bus routes. I can recommend this place very highly!

Private, contemporary, self-contained accommodation in a central location. Ashness is a modern, studio apartment in historic Grange over Sands.
Fully modernised in 2014, this bright and airy semi-basement apartment occupies almost an entire floor of our Victorian town house. It provides a double/family room with a dedicated dining area, ensuite shower room and separate simple cooking facilities so that you are fully independent. Its crisp interiors are a refreshing contrast to the surrounding seaside town The ingredients for your continental style breakfast for the first morning is included, this will be found in the separate kitchen area of your accommodation on your arrival for you to prepare and enjoy in your own time. In this area you will find a microwave, fridge, sink and a kettle but no hob or oven.
Just minutes from Ashness is Grange Promenade which gives a mile of level walking alongside the picturesque Morecambe Bay. With the stunning Lake District National Park close by, there is no shortage of places to visit. Grange over Sands provides a base which combines all the local amenities you will need, together with the fabulous landscapes you will want to experience. The contrast between coast and countryside provides a varied and interesting Cumbrian holiday. There are various small restaurants and take-aways in walking distance, but chic, Michelin star restaurants can be found in Cartmel two miles away along with several local gastro-pubs and more informal eateries. Having lived locally in Grange for over a decade, we look forward to sharing our top recommendations; everything ranging from outdoor adventure activities to dining and entertainment.
  • Andrew was waiting with a smile at an agreed time to welcome us and show us to the apartment and advise us on parking. We were surprised at the size of the space, it was bigger than we had envisaged based on the photos and had everything we needed, was clean and tidy and looked almost newly converted! Breakfast was provided including milk, cheese, croissants, cereals and fruit, and wifi worked well too. If we need to stay in the area again we will definitely look for Andrew's apartment as our first point of call.

    Rachael Louise2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything from the location, the privacy, the cleanliness, and the little touches like a welcome letter with useful information made this, my first AirBnB stay, totally perfect. Andrew was very relaxed and made me feel totally at home in the private accommodation. The location was great... very close to the sea and a quick 10 minute walk from the town with shops, take-aways and other amenities.

We really enjoyed our stay!

  • I had great experience staying with Daniela. The rooms is exactly what you see in the picture, very clean. The bathroom and kitchen are also very clean. Daniela is a great host, very helpful with my questions and very considerate. I had an exam in university and I was very nervous. There was not one single tiny issue happening in that flat that added to my exam pain ;).

    Kenneth2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really appreciate Daniela's meticulous arrangements. Right from reaching the house to getting the clean towel and bedding. Though, she wasn't available at the home herself, but her careful and meticulous instructions resolved everything. It is perfect for the visiting scholars at Lancaster University. The bust-stop is right next to the venue. Very accessible location. Thanks again. PS: As I was coming from India, I had no issues with the traffic noise of A6. Many visitors from 'quite' countries can find it bothering.

  • Great place in the heart of Lancaster - apartment with four rooms, bath and kitchen. Very close to many eateries, including the great Whaletail Café. Higly recommend this place! Haven't met the host, but exchanged a lot of text messages and emails. She really takes care. Shower was great and mattress ok - a bit soft maybe. Also highly recommend Filbert's Bakery on King St, opposite of Primark. Rivals German quality! Next door is a great ice cream shop as well.

  • If you're just looking for somewhere to get your head down then it absolutely does the job. I had a couple of tiny issues but then again, it was a very cheap option in the middle of the city centre. I had a large suitcase which was difficult to get past a car parked in the narrow passageway to access the flat. Stanka kindly accommodated a very late check-in for me which was very much appreciated. The room was basic as advertised. The rug and curtains looked a little dirty. There wasn't any milk for tea on my first morning but you're so close to the main high street that I just popped out. Some of the other rooms in the apartment were doubles and by definition had a bit more space. It was a basic single room which on a budget did the job.

  • Stankas room was cozy, quite and clean. The accommodation is located in the city Center next to a church. Thanks to the church and Stanka there is a superb possibility to park the car. Just ask Stanka, she is helpful and quickly responded to all our requests. The wifi was also good. We can highly recommend this place for a stay in Lancaster. Thank you very much and hope to see you again, Dominik & Steven!

Easy access to historic Market Towns . Lancaster and Morecambe nearby with 5mins walk to The Village Pub ! :)
It may be one of the oldest houses in the village with beams and the orginal front door ! But it has all been revamped into a warm quirky home providing an Airbnb stay you will love and enjoy :)
Set in a relaxing village but 15mins drive you can indulge in The Lakes in one direction or upbeat in a city the other way .
  • Storrs farmhouse in the pretty village of Yealand Redmayne, is a perfect spot to take in all the scenery and sightseeing that the Lakes has to offer. It is secluded, but very easily accessible from the M6, and with larger towns like Lancaster within reach for shopping. Gabrielle is a wonderful host, attentive with a warm personality, and happy to give you as much privacy - or company as you prefer. Your room is large and light and slightly separated from the others on the first floor so you don't feel as though you are intruding. It is just as attractive as the rest of the immaculate house, with good views over the surrounding countryside. Just down the road is the New Inn, where we had an excellent Easter meal - the locals all know how good it is, so best to book if you fancy it.

    Diana2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Gabrielle's house! Great vibes all round, and it's a lovely, cosy and peaceful place, and spotlessly clean. Gabrielle is really warm and welcoming and we had a good laff or three. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

    Filippa2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Touch of luxury with wonderfully interesting host. Quiet charming village surroundings, with easy access to the Lakes district. We should have stayed for a week. Would recommend to anyone.

    Marie2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, friendly plus with a very very lovely cute cat.

    Lily2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gabrielle's house is located in countryside, it's surrounded by beautiful walks. The closest pub is only 10minutes walking and food is great there. I would easily recommend this house !

    Romane2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of space in this rustic farmhouse with very modern fit out in kitchen and bathroom. Host is a character. So is the cat.

    Ian2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Gabrielle and Edward (the cat). The house was in a beautiful location - a short drive from the seaside and the lakes. It was super comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was great. Gabrielle made us feel very welcome!

    Emily2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights at Gabrielle's place on our way to the Lake District. The house is in the countryside and is big and spacious. The room was comfortable and cosy. Gabrielle was a very friendly and helpful host and helped us with planning our routes for the visit. The place is ideal for walking and trekking. As we were driving to the lakes and wanted to explore further North, we found our destinations a bit too far from the house for a day return.

  • A very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The apartment had everything we needed and was in a fantastic location. We especially liked all the local information provided. The apartment was lovely and bright when the sun shined yet also cosy when the sun went in. We would really recommend this apartment and we will definitely be returning! Thank you Diane for being a wonderful host!

    Katherine2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was very clean and tidy. It was a bit cold but the heating was on a lot of the time which we appreciated. There was an extra electric heater and also there were blankets and slippers which helped. The kitchen was just what we needed for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner - there was an oven, grill, kettle, microwave, toaster, saucepans etc. The shower worked well and the water heated up quickly. Diane provided tea and coffee which was a nice touch. Sadly the Wi-fi didn't work very well and so we weren't able to use the internet very successfully which was frustrating. The bed and pillows were quite hard, too hard for us (but that is personal preference) and there were only two pillows, one each. Diane's communication was good.

    Ed & Jacqueline2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's apt is absolutely gorgeus! Lancaster, for instance, is a wonderful historic town, surrounded by enchanting countryside, and Diane's appartment is in the best position you could wish: close to the railway station and next to the city castle (!). The interior is clean, lovely and confortable, with all you need. Diane herself is lovely too! She was friendly and welcoming to us. Sincerely recommend this place and Diane!

    Giacomo2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice apartment in a secluded part of the historic centre of town, very close to the castle and priory. A real sense of history and very peaceful (in October anyhow). Great for parking. Well equipped and sparklingly clean.

    Neil2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place. Gorgeous and comfortable inside, and the location couldn't be better. Its situation between the Lancaster Castle and the train station, so it's super easy upon arrival and departure. After just a few steps up the street, you get a breathtaking view overlooking all of Lancaster as you walk past the castle. You see the impressive Aaron Memorial framed by the surrounding trees as you look over Lancaster, while the castle looms over you on the left. You've got the atmospheric Merchants pub nearby, and just across King Street pretty much everything else: cafes, shopping, cinema, library, restaurants, theatre, etc. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, Market Square is home to the local market where you can buy freshly made food (even vegan), pastries, bread, and local artisans' ware. Highly recommended. I'd live here permanently if I could. It's perfection.

    Christine2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The layout and design were ideal for a couple with a nice modern kitchen and bathroom. The proximity of the rooms to Lancaster's shops and historic centre meant we could walk everywhere; and the bus station and railway station are nearby. I would rate this as excellent for a 2/3 night stay. We enjoyed ourselves, we had meals out, saw a live show and my hubby loved the real ale!

    Juliet2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was a great host. My family really enjoyed the stay. The flat is perfectly situated next to the castle and just a 2 min walk to the center. Would highly recommend staying at Diane's if you are planning a visit to Lancaster.

    Henri2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment in a historic building, very close to the historic castle (1 min walk), city center (5 min) and train station (3 min). Quiet at night. All instructions were very clear and everything was available . I would definitely go again. The bed and the pillows are awesome! I also liked the use of lights, which give the apartment a very cozy feeling in the evening.

  • I went to Lancaster for work and needed a quiet place to relax. That's exactly what I found! Jenni was actually on vacation in France and her son Patrick contacted me early on to welcome me. He was a very caring host and and I enjoyed our talks. The room is small but clean and has a nice view over the town, especially in the evening. I can very much recommend staying here!

    Jörn2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is a gracious host with excellent manners and has a superb knowledge of the local area, directing me to good places for runs on both nights of my stay, her gardening expertise was astounding and she was able to keep me talking about her extensive tiered garden all with edible plants and the guerilla hedge her and the local youth had planted and tended in the street. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well both nights, this, along with the two friendly and intelligent lodgers, made my stay delightful and I would definitely visit again, if there was more room I'd bring my family next time.

    Tom2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • good experience.

    Ivy_Li2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very nice stay with Jenny. She lives in a quiet suburb and I was able to park the car right outside her house. As others have said, the room is small but I didn't mind as I was out all day. Also she makes her sitting room and garden available to guests. The bed turned out to be very good for my somewhat fragile back - soft mattress with hard base worked well for me. Jenny is kind, relaxed about her home and passionate about her skills and beliefs. I also enjoyed meeting and talking with her pleasant Spanish lodger - Chavi. Mostly though, I was grateful for quiet and space to myself after full and active days out. On my last morning, she gave me a guided tour of her edible and wildlife friendly little garden! I would certainly be happy to stay with Jenny again.

    Lynda2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is a great host. The house has everything one needs. It was a great place to stay in my first time in Lancaster.

    Tania2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer communicated promptly, we met briefly on arrival and she was very welcoming as were her lodgers making me feel comfortable while with them. Everything was as described and the location was ideal for my stay. Thank you Jennifer

    David2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's home is warm and welcoming. I was provided with everything that I needed and then some. Lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt and granola or eggs and toast, plus kitchen basics for making your own meals at other times. Jennifer's son was running the b&b for the week and was very friendly and accommodating, making sure that I had everything that I needed. The house was an easy 15-20 minute walk from town and was the perfect place to stay while I attended a summer school at the University.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Carolyn's house. She was very welcoming and friendly and had a great chat with her when we checked in. The house is very cosy and is very clean and tidy. The room is very well furnished and it even has a desk, which I appreciated as I enjoy writing about my trips. The complimentary breakfast was very good, too. We are very happy to have stayed at Carolyn's place and would definitely visit back.

Lovely modern self-contained apartment set in the Castle Conservation area of Lancaster town centre and 2 minutes walk from the railway station. This delightful and quirky property is set in a historic building and is located on a main street above a restaurant. The main living space and master bedroom has views of Lancaster Castle and all of the many shops, restaurants, historic buildings and pubs are within a few minutes walk. An added benefit is the outside space with a fantastic sunny patio.
What makes our apartment unique is the handy central location, the stunning castle views, the quirky nature of the property - it is said that the building once formed part of a stable block for the castle, and the fabulous outside space.
From our apartment you can walk to the canal in 5 minutes, you can access the lovely Fairfield nature reserve in 5 minutes, again, on foot, and we are only minutes away from the cycle track where you can cycle to the seaside at Morecambe in 25 minutes - a city centre location with canals, nature and the seaside all within reach, no car necessary. If you can, bring your bikes, it is well worth it.
  • Wonderful place to stay. We were working away from home and Wendy made our work much easier. What a lovely, thoughtful person. Wendy's place is great. Highly recommended

  • We have just returned after a fantastic 2 night stay. The apartment was beautiful and clean. We spent alot of time on the terrece which is a ideal sun trap in the day. Close to the river and canal walks and 30 seconds from the castle. Absolutely ideal for holidays with a group of friends or with families with or without children. Wendy contacted us regularly with travel advice, answers to questions, check in details etc. She was a fantastic host from start of booking, during, and after. Thank you both so much for making our girlie weekend a truly relaxing and stress free one! We shall be back!

    Beth2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place is really clean and comfortable. The location is great too! There's restaurant just down stairs, shopping and tourist attractions were just nearby within walking distance. My family and I had a great time staying at Wendy's place. Wendy and John are really friendly, helpful and welcoming too. Easy to reach when we have any problems. Would definitely recommend to others.

    Terence2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's wonderful warm, stylish, spacious apartment is right in the heart of Lancaster. You look out the lounge windows and see the castle right across the road! Nice warm beds, plenty of hot water, plus all the extras - board games for the kids, all the kitchen gear, great outside private space and best of all - great communication all the way (thanks!!) and help when needed (parking permit etc). We loved the stay and easy to get up into the Lakes or Yorkshire Dales areas for day trips too from here! Loved it and wished we had stayed longer - big thanks! :)

    Eril2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This property is in a perfect location, hosted by the lovely Wendy. Even though Wendy was away she had everything sorted out, and left us contact details. I love the personal touches, like leaving dish washer tablets, shower gel, and a little food welcome pack. The property itself is very clean & quiet, and close to town/train station. The parking permit allowed us to park close by. Thanks again Wendy!

    Kerry2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay at the Meeting House apartment. Wendy and her son were very friendly and accommodating. The apartment has all the amenities you might want and is only a stone's throw away from the train station and city center. Great place to stay if you have business at the university but don't fancy the on-campus lodging!

Unique Contemporary Cottage, just a moments walk from Lancaster Castle & train station. Situated in a peaceful walled oasis in the heart of historic Lancaster. This hidden gem has a secret double bedroom, a big comfy sofa bed, a huge copper bath & a wood burner. Whether you want a romantic retreat or a comfortable base to explore the North West - the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales & Manchester Airport are all about an hour away. Trains from the doorstep and parking available.
Quaint on the outside. Quirky on the inside. Castle View is nestled within the grounds of our home, almost at the foot of Lancaster Castle. Inside Castle View, the secret bedroom and bathroom are a real surprise and simply luxurious! Everything is kitted out with your complete comfort in mind. A king size natural mattress, Egyptian cotton bed linen, Smeg fridge/freezer and a giant 'Loaf' sofa to sink into in front of the wood burner.
Castle View is situated within the peaceful Lancaster Castle Conservation area and yet only 3 minutes walk to the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Try our destination cafe, 'The Hall', for the best flat white in the UK….. and make sure you visit their shop next door that has been open since 1837. Filberts bakery is the place for scrumptious artisan breads and pastries. If history is your thing then a visit to the castle is obviously a must...and if you're a culture vulture then we're a 10 minute walk to The Dukes Theatre and Cinema. For a special night out by the sea head to the Midland Hotel in Morecambe and have a cocktail in the Rotunda bar whilst the sun goes down, before having dinner. Or take in the views and sunsets from Williamson Park - home to the iconic Ashton Memorial and 54 acres of beautiful parkland with enchanting woodland walks and breathtaking views to the Fylde Coast, Morecambe Bay and the Lake District. Beauty surrounds this hidden gem of a city and the location really couldn't be better. There are so many stunning places to visit.
  • Set right next to Lancaster Castle, the cottage is literally a dream home away from home and equipped with everything you need to forget your busy life. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with nothing but kindness from Jenny, she truly has thought of everything! From electric blinds for you to have a proper lazy morning, to a big copper bath to relax in in the evening. I'm sure Lancaster is lovely to dine out in but we ended up staying in both nights because the cottage is so comfortable! We'll definitely be back to sample the Lancaster dining options and when we do, we'll definitely be staying at Jenny's gorgeous cottage.

    Sam2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We were so lucky to find such a hidden gem and be the first to stay in this brand new air bnb! The cottage is in the walled grounds of Jenny and Gary's house right next to Lancaster Castle and just up the road from the train station. The location is perfect for transport, shops and restaurants. Despite being so central the cottage is incredibly peaceful. Absolutely no city noise at all. It's like a little oasis. Inside is immaculate and really stylish. The bed in a cupboard is inspired. It's surrounded by a handy shelf for books, drinks etc with perfectly placed sockets for iPhones. The mattress and bedding is top quality and luxurious. I could easily have spent all day in probably the most comfortable and cosy bed I've ever slept in! The kitchen is well equipped and spotlessly clean with big fridge and freezer. And from the dining table you can look out to the castle. The cottage feels really spacious inside due to its double height ceiling and well planned storage. We loved the copper bath and rain shower. Jenny is lovely and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Always quick to respond as she's just next door - though the cottage feels very separate from their house. She's an artist and her amazing photos of ultra magnified sand are on the walls adding to the overall beach house with a twist stylings. Highly recommended. We will definitely be booking in next time we're in Lancaster. Hope to stay longer next time!

  • Gorgeous, spotless accommodation on a fantastic site. Aaron and Rachel area a lovely couple who go out their way to make sure you have everything you need. Excellent.

    Carole2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was brilliant! We travelled 7 hours and Aaron and Rachel were so accomodating to our check in needs. It's a lovely holiday home the area is close to places like the lakes and Blackpool. I had to travel to and from Manchester to visit family and we were only an hour away! Pool is a tad cold for a baby and my little one got a cold for a few days so be aware of that (obviously nothing to do with the caravan itself!) The heating worked brilliantly and we were close to supermarkets etc. Loved it! Will definately stay again if in the area.

The house was clean and tidy, with a large bedroom (with very comfortable bed) and lovely private bathroom. The house is within walking distance to everything (including a nice circular nature walk), and it has a great view of Lancaster and the Lake District mountains far in the distance. Would recommend!!

  • Would 100% recommend and this would be the first place I would try and book if I needed an overnight stay in Lancaster again. The accommodation was exactly as described. Rosie was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home, showing us where everything was kept and checking we were okay with the cereals, etc she had for breakfast. Rosie was extremely helpful and very good at giving route directions - we didn't get lost once! The description did mention they had a dog and cat - didn't see much of the cat, but the elderly dog was very friendly and docile and unlikely to be a problem for anyone who felt at all nervous around dogs. An excellent place to stay with great hosts.

  • Janet made me feel very welcome when I arrived. We had a cup of tea and a chat, and she showed me around the house. During the stay, Janet and Lawrence were friendly, but were more than happy for me to come and go as I pleased. Janet was very helpful in recommending places to eat.

    Rich2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Janet is a very warm, welcoming, and personable host. We stayed with her for two weeks and felt right at home. We had plenty of pleasant chats with Janet as we spent quite a bit of time in the house and regularly used the kitchen to cook our meals. The room was spacious and comfortable, the wifi was fast, and we liked the location out in the countryside and near a wonderful trail that goes along the Lune River -- going for runs on this trail was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.

  • The host canceled this reservation 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Very close to the motorway and a convenient hop into Lancaster for dinner (made even easier with Janet's pre-picked recommendations). A very handy stop off point for journeys like Glasgow to mid Wales!

  • Janet made us feel very welcome even though we booked at short notice & arrived quite late! Great location for M6 & we used it as a stop off for travelling further. Nice touches like local info & towels & soap supplied. They're doing up the house but this had no bearing on our stay & the room was bigger than pictured and very comfortable. Great value stay!

Bob was a wonderful host who made sure everything in the apartment was spotless and really made us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend Cove Lea

    Tom2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Bob was very kind and welcoming and had expert knowledge of the local area and was able to advise me and my daughter on actives that we were interested in. From hikes to exhibitions. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to be as independent as we wished which was lovely. It was a lovely spacious house and one of the highlights of this property was the original log burner which our dog throughly enjoyed in the evenings. With the beach only a short walk down the road it was ideal for an evening walk back from one of the local pubs.

The short walk across The Lots to Silverdale village is a great pre and post meal bit of exercise. The apartment is spotless and perfect for a couple or small family. We visited local restaurants and towns. What a great break. Thanks Bob.

  • We had a fantastic weekend in Silverdale. We loved the accommodation and the garden was perfect for our small family and dogs. The location is wonderful only 2 minutes walk to the beach and the lovely fields into Silverdale centre. Bob was fantastic very welcoming and helpful! We will definitely be returning in the future.

    amy2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bob was a really helpful host, flexible and accommodating of all our needs. The house itself was cosy, with an open fire and as much firewood and coal as we needed. There was a Christmas tree set up to create a nice festive atmosphere, and a good selection of books and DVDs too. There were three of us, but the house would have felt a bit small for more than that.

Situated in the historic city of Lancaster, close to arts, music, culture, dining, outdoor activities and the beauty of Morecambe Bay. On the mainline from London, Manchester/airport and 40 mins from the Lakes, my place is great for couples, adventurers and business travellers, so ideal if you are visiting family, enjoying an event, here for work, visiting one of the universities or wanting a city, coast, or countryside break. I offer you a friendly welcome and relaxing stay in my cosy home.
The room is simply furnished, but is bright and cosy. Located on the first floor at the back of the house, it is nice and quiet and overlooks the garden.
My house is situated in a friendly, safe and conveniently located part of town, within easy walking distance of the historic town centre, beautiful park and mainline train station.

I have a double room available to guests. The house is perfect for access to the University of Cumbria and is close to the town centre. I am currently redecorating the house and making other cosmetic changes. The house is kept clean and tidy, though, and super-fast fibre broadband has just been installed!
Your room is a quiet, spacious and bright room. It contains a desk with office chair and an easy chair.
This is a cul-de-sac with no passing traffic in a quiet neighbourhood on the edge of town. Guests will enjoy peaceful surroundings, just a few yards from one of the north west's most impressive buildings, the Ashton Memorial, set in Williamson Park.
  • Matthew was the perfect host; easygoing, considerate, very warm and welcoming. He made me feel at home in his beautiful house straight away. He offered to pick me up at arrival and was accommodating to my every need - so it felt - during the week I stayed. This wa(URL HIDDEN)moderately priced room with shared facilities and generous access. The house is 2 minutes away from the University of Cumbria Lancaster campus and is excellent for anyone attending activities at either the University of Cumbria or Lancaster University (buses to Lancaster Uni from the University of Cumbria campus every 5-10 min). Myself, I was attending the annual PhD summer school at the University of Cumbria. This was just brilliant location. Matthew was doing the finishing touches on a renovation of the house, but the place could not have been more perfect. It was impeccable, and everything, all appliances, bathroom-shower, ventilation, wifi, worked like a dream. The size of the room was also generous, there was a bay window area facing the street (first floor). The room was well-equipped with storage for clothes (rack and drawer), easy access sockets and even a beautiful antique school desk in case one felt compelled to do some work from home (I could also use the sitting room downstairs or the kitchen which became my favourite spot-a spacious, airy, and light space and home to many lovingly looked after green plants). I would strongly recommend anyone travelling for work or holiday to book with Matthew. Victorian style Williamson Park is just across the street and offers stunning views of the city and Morecambe Bay and, on a clear day also the fells in the Lake District. This is a gem. Truly.

  • Matthew's place was lovely to stay in. Matthew and I chatted over breakfast everyday., he was helpful and friendly. The house is a steep walk or a short taxi ride out of town, but right by the lovely Williamson Park, with it's excellent views. Matthew is still doing work to the house but it's spotless. I would definitely stay again.

    Paul2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place and the perfect host. It's located near Williamson Park and quiet all day long. You can enjoy the peaceful environment. The host is highly considerate. He kindly provided local information, changed bedding every week and kept the house clean all the time. I bet you will like this place and the host.

  • Staying with Janet and Laurence (and Fergus) was my first airbnb experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I arrived later on and was met with a warm welcome. I was shown to my room whilst Janet put the kettle on for a cup of tea. We all sat in the kitchen at the wood burning stove and chatted for ages. The room was small but perfect, and I slept so well. The bed is SUPER comfy!!! Breakfast was amazing in the morning (fresh eggs from Janet's rescued hens) and I have never tried so many jams!! I had a lovely time and really felt looked after. So much so that I was late for my course as I didn't want to leave!!

We've a bright, airy room for 1 or 2 people with a nice double bed, plenty of storage room and a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower. We offer a continental breakfast with good coffee and home-made bread. We're beside the Lancaster Canal so the only passing traffic are boats! Within easy walking distance of Lancaster City centre. 5 minutes from M6 Junction 34. Close to Morecambe Bay, Lake District, Forest of Bowland. No extra cleaning fees. All races, colours, religions and sexes welcome.
This is a pleasant modern three-storey house beside the Lancaster Canal. The guest room (on the top floor) is bright and airy. There's a comfortable double bed with a nice duvet and good-quality bed linen, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits, towels, clothes hangers, tissues, &c. It's very quiet as there's no through traffic on the street. There's a very spacious sitting room that guests are invited to share with us; it has a balcony overlooking the Canal with views of Lancaster Castle, the Priory and the Lake District; there's also a TV, a large library and a good music collection. Windows on three sides make it a very bright room. Alternatively (weather permitting - and remember this is Lancashire!) you can sit on the patio with a drink and watch the boats go by, the ducks and our next-door-neighbours, the swans. We serve a continental breakfast: cereal, fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, toast (from home-made bread) or croissants, &c., and special dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten- or lactose-free can be catered for given notice. Private off-road parking is available.
Lancaster is a lovely riverside city dating back to Roman times, with one of the finest medieval castles in the country. There are two theatres (one of them the third oldest in the country) and lots of pubs providing live music; there are also lots of good places to eat. The house is modern but it's in an older part of the city called Freehold, a very quiet area.
  • Absolutely lovely couple. Carol and mac went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements for the wonderful continental breakfast. They are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here. We look forward to staying again in the future

  • Daniel's place is one of those rare locations that borders on a tangible amid intangibles. His hospitality is more than kind and his house is more than comforting, clean, supportive and affordable. He picked me up; gave me a guided tour of his environs; made sure I was well taken care of; took time to make me feel more than welcome; always checked in with my comfort and well being. His home, the 1929 bungalow, was warm and friendly, stocked with everything you need at a rock bottom price. His other lodgers made me feel right at home. Walking distance to so many things. But Daniel and his place is but a small wonderment in kind, friendly, supportive and un-known experience known as Cumbria and the coast. Say what you will about the south with its flash and bang, the north has been known for its kindness to weary travelers....and if you want that experience, Daniel's place is the center of it in this humble reviewer's opinion! Thanks Daniel!

  • Daniel was a perfect host, very friendly and amenable - The room was absolutely fine and of course use of other amenities in the property. Daniel in fact trusted me with the property as he had plans to visit a relation, and left me in charge overnight!!

  • Daniel is super helpful and friendly, quick response time. The house is nice, kitchen is fully fitted and clean. The room itself is very spacious for the price and has some interesting furnitures. During my stay there were two other people staying upstair who are also very friendly. Highly recommended.

  • Great coastal town to explore, along with visiting the World's Oldest Sweet Shop and hiking in the nearby Lake District. Daniel was so warm, friendly, and welcoming! He was flexible with check-in/check-out times and was kind enough to welcome my dog into his home as well. The house has everything you'll need. My room was warm and cozy, with clean, fresh linens and plenty of clothing storage space. The other house mates were just as friendly and welcoming as well. I would most definitely stay at Daniel's home again! :)
