“This is probably the most popular lounge in CDMX. Packed most nights, it is very casual w/ a DJ and a young, hip crowd. If clubbing is your thing, this is highly-recommeded!”

“El Imperial is one of the best live music venues in Mexico City, particularly for fans of rock and electronica. It’s a popular club, favoring all that is vintage and antique, and frequented by hipsters and lovers of the alternative. The venue itself is a two-storey building, with a stage on the first floor and a pulsating dance floor on the second floor, which is known as ‘El Room’. Usually, national rock bands perform at El Imperial, but it is not uncommon for international bands to take to the stage.”

Cocktail Bar

“BALTRA $$ Head to Condesa for a nightcap at Baltra, a small bar with soft lighting and excellent drinks, including an Old George Sour, a fragrant mix of tequila, cucumber and cardamom, or a Melissa — gin, citronella and mint. Then move on to Felina, a relaxed Condesa hangout that’s so discreet many miss it. On weekend nights, a D.J. will get you moving. If it’s mezcal you’re after, check out La Clandestina, a hole in the wall where 20-odd mezcals are stored in five-gallon bottles. The bartenders will guide you through the intimidating list of mezcals made from different kinds of agave, until you fall off your stool.”

“While you might find it difficult to gain access in the first place, given that it has a pretty strict door policy, putting in the effort to get into Leonor is certainly recommended. Located in the Condesa district, Roma’s arguably classier older brother, you can find anything from deep house music to indie tracks playing here depending on the DJ of the evening. It may be small, but it’s a popular club of choice with the Mexico City-ites in the know.”

“La Condesa has a huge nightlife, one of the biggest in the capital, in fact. From nightclubs to karaoke bars and lounges, there is something for everyone in La Condesa, where it is easy to stay out until the early hours of the morning, as is the local custom. Whether it is electronic, pop, 70s or indie that you are looking for, or tasty drinks, all-night dancing and fun, La Condesa will not let you down.”
