  • Great place to stay. Had a great weekend away, we’ll definitely be staying again in the summer!

    Sam2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is outstanding. The photos don’t do the pod justice. Everything was clean as a bell. The toilet and shower place was heated and warm no none of that cold camping showering. Pod is roomy and don’t feel claustrophobic at all. Also tho our stay was in January and the outside weather was quite cold. Two little heaters pumped the place with heat. Lovely and cosy too with the fire. And the plus sockets have usb s too!!!

    John2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Pod was lovely. Set in a very quiet area, with a lovely wood burning stove. The hut was very warm and cosy despite the January freezing temperatures. The only slight hitch we had was the hot water pipe freezing. But Alan was super helpful running around all day and night to try and get it fixed. We only stayed one night so didn’t cause us any real problems. Alan was a very nice and very helpful host. I’d be happy to recommend him and his listings to others. Thanks Alan

  • This is a lovely spot if you are looking for cosy, simple and clean accommodation, well located in this beautiful region. We very much enjoyed our stay, and especially loved the tardis-like bathroom in the pony trailer! Alan is a very hospitable host.

  • We had a lovely, cosy stay in the Green Hut despite the stormy January weather. Good value for money and very well-situated for our desired aim of hiking the Jurassic coast and seeing the best of Dorset. Louise was very helpful, friendly and efficient.

    Susan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Despite staying in The Green Hut on the weekend of Storm Dennis(!), the hut was surprisingly warm and extremely cosy. We only managed to escape the hut for a couple of hours in the storm - just enough time to briefly explore Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove - but felt so at home from the moment we arrived!

    Shauna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Green Hut is gorgeous! Much bigger than the pictures show and a great venue for a cosy getaway. The weather was not great for us unfortunately so we spent a lot of time in the hut and we loved it. 100% recommend to all!

Winfrith Newburgh is a lovely, quiet village and so close to the coastal path- we spent both days walking by the beaches. Wonderful couple of days.

  • We had a wonderful stay on the Magic Bus. The attention to detail was amazing and the owners had thought of everything, so it had all we needed and more. Despite the wet and windy weather outside, the bus was incredibly warm and cozy; the wood burning stove kept us toasty and dry and the beds were really comfortable. The shower in the shed is amazing, better than ours at home! The kids absolutely loved the garden and we all appreciated the clear night skies - no light pollution so lots of star gazing can be had.

'Minnow Cottage' is a lovely Victorian farm cottage in a quaint, rural hamlet just 8 minutes drive from 'Lulworth Cove'. Ideally situated for all the attractions of the Jurassic Coast and with lots of pretty, local walks. We love to welcome children & have left toys for our mini-guests!
The cottage was built at the end of the 1800's and retains many original features such as original doors, fireplace (decorative) and cob work. It is sympathetically furnished and decorated throughout and includes a modern kitchen and bathroom (downstairs), lounge/diner and garden with summer-house. Upstairs there are two main bedrooms; one is a double and the other is a twin. There is also a games snug upstairs complete with DVD player, vintage Nintendo system and board games. In the games snug there is a full-size, fold-out single mattress for an additional guest. The snug is very small, so this space as well as the fold out bed, is only suitable for children. We have three small children ourselves and have left out toys and games and children's DVDs as well as plastic plates and cutlery and garden toys. There is a travel cot and booster seat high chair available. Please note, there are stairs in the lounge which do ot have a stair gate. Because of the old cob walls we are unable to safely fit a permanent one. We can also recommend a local babysitter who is a fully qualified nursery nurse. Her details, including business page, are in the online house manual or in the manual at the cottage. We love authentic pieces and have left out our vintage dolls pram and vintage games and radios for you to enjoy. PLEASE NOTE: There are two TV's but both are for gaming and DVD's only. There is Wifi at the cottage. Minnow Cottage is an on-going restoration of love for us, so while we are working away from home we have decided to open our home to others to love it for us. It is a great base for exploring this area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideal for children. We have priced our cottage at a lower rate since we know it's tricky to find an affordable family/pet friendly cottage, we feel it provides exceptional value for money. We charge an additional flat rate fee of £20 for guests visiting with dogs. This covers any additional cleaning which may be required. Please note, the garden is secure for doggy visitors but smaller breeds may need their owners to check the fence for wriggle holes. Also see note below re. neighbour access . Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring a dog. Early check-in and late check-out options can sometimes be arranged in advance for a fee of £20. Please ask for details. Please see further details for more information on the house.
This is a quiet hamlet in rural Dorset. It has immediate coutryside walks available from the front door and is the inspiration for Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the Durbevilles'. Lulworth Cove is an 8 min drive away along with all the other stunning scenary and attractions of the Jurassic Coast. There are three nice pubs within walking distance all offering great local food. A short drive or cycle away is the award winning 'Moreton Tea Rooms' which is located next to a beautiful ford - well worth a visit! Monkey World and The Tank Museum are both 15 minutes walk or 5 minute drive away whilst Lulworth Castle, Tyneham Village, Corfe Castle and Swanage seaside town are all also within the local area. For those who like a walk with a twist, try collecting pictures of yourselves next to some of the crazy Dorset place names such as 'Bindon Bottom', 'Scratchy Bottom', the River 'Piddle' and 'Tincleton' to name only a few of the more tame ones!
  • Great stay, great communication and a cosy house for a family visiting Dorset. All the main sites are within 15 to 30 minutes so an ideal base. Thank you Katie.

    Nick And Kate2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy, well set up cottage in a great location. Plenty of toys and games for the girls, lots of DVDs to watch and comfy beds!

    Louise2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Minnow Cottage was superb! The house is very comfortable and nice, and has all amenities you could need. It is close to all major places to visit and Katie was super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend it enough!

    Kevin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this cottage and the area is just stunning. We went during January and got really lucky with the weather but we would love to return during spring summer as it would be totally worth it. The cottage is really lovely and has everything you would need. Plus the host is very very quick to respond which makes things so handy when planning. I highly recommend and will aim to return.

    Bouchra2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and comfortable place, well decorated, with local information (maps and guidebooks) available. Good set of games for the whole family. Easy check-in, useful and quick communication. We spent a very enjoyable weekend at Minnow Cottage.

    Manuel2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at minnow cottage over Christmas 2019, with two boys aged 4 & 2. The cottage was easy to find, was clean, big enough for us 4, lots of clear instructions and a booklet about the house and what to do locally. We expected a few toys as was described, but the children were very excited to see a whole wardrobe full of toys! And in a lovely cute bedroom of their own! We found enough to do over the few days we were there, and had glorious weather on Christmas Day, so we went to Durdle door about 15 minutes away, in time to see the sunrise! Katie was really helpful and communicative, and we’d definitely recommend the cottage!

    Paul2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal cottage for a family stay. Our kids really appreciated the toys and the garden is good for a run around to let off steam. Handy for Monkey World! Check in and check out was smooth. Would definitely stay again!

    Graham2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage and very easy to deal with host. Would really recommend popping into Cecilia’s cafe 5 mins away for a Latin American breakfast while you’re here. Toys kept our daughter very entertained

Lovely self contained annexe set in the beautiful surroundings of the Jurassic coast. There is a cosy double bedroom (which has the option of either a king size or two single beds) a shower room and a well equipped kitchen/dining/living room which has a sofa bed. The property has its own pretty courtyard garden and off road parking for one car.
self contained annexe with easy access to Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast AONB
West Lulworth and its associated Lulworth Cove is a pretty little village with many thatched properties. It does not have street lighting so the night sky can be very spectacular. There are two pubs both of which serve food, a very nice restaurant within easy walking distance of the property (a little expensive but lovely menu) and a bistro nearer to the sea which additionally does take away pizzas . There is also a number of further cafes including Finlays who serve good fish and chips and very delicious Dorset ice cream. (Please note that not everything is open during the winter)
  • Very comfortable annexe in great location. Thoughtfully equipped. Quiet situation but just above the attractive village, (which can be reached down steps just to the right of the property). The thatched roof Castle Inn is a couple of minutes walk, and there is a good restaurant (the Limestone) a few minutes walk away - we had good meals in both. Beautiful countryside around, and about 10 minutes walk to Lulworth Cove.

  • We had a great stay at Falcon’s Nest! It was easy to find and so close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Nice fenced in garden where the pups could sit outside. Some nice, thoughtful touches were left for us, and communication was super speedy. We would stay again!

A self catering 2 bedroom ground floor apartment tucked away in the picturesque village of Briantspuddle in the heart of Dorset. We offer all the comforts and peace you'll need after spending the day exploring the coast & countryside or visiting all the local attractions. Our village is nestled by the River Piddle just off the A35 near the county town of Dorchester, Weymouth & Swanage next to the coast. Sorry no INFANTS/CHILDREN/ PETS no guests ELECTRICAL HEATERS/FANS allowed we are NOT INSURED
Our art gallery & working studio is next door where the public can view my paintings of local landscapes and abstracts all painted in the fields, streams and beaches of the surrounding areas. I have a wealth of tourist information having lived and worked my way along the coast from Sidmouth to Weymouth. I have walked my dogs, painted, sketched, photographed run and & walked just about everywhere in-between. So if you want ideas or how to find those quite little spots or the special places to go and explore, then just ask. If you want to have a nice bite to eat and a local tipple then I definitley can tell you more. I am always more than happy to tell you all about this wonderful part of the world. PLEASE CHECK HOUSE MANUAL FOR HEATING DURING WINTER BOOKINGS
We are 20 mins from the coastline which has Lulworth cove, Tyneham village, Kimmeridge Bay, Swanage, Studland to name just a few. The village of Briantspuddle is part of the Piddle Valley and we are just 10/15 mins from the Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Wareham & Dorchester. The next village along the river from us has a nice dog friendly pub and there is a local shop 10 mins from us in Puddletown. Our village does have a community shop and post office for the basics like milk/eggs and bread.

  • This is a true hideaway in a lovely village. The apartment was very clean and tidy, the kitchen had all we needed for our 4 night stay. The bed and pillows was comfortable Mark our host was there to greet us and show us around. We were using this apartment as a base to look around Dorset and it was perfect for us, the only down side for us townies were the country lanes but by the end of the week even I was getting used to driving down them in the dark. I would recommend staying here and we would book again.

The Shepherds hut is situated in its own woodland and is off grid. You will be able to take in the beautiful night sky and fall asleep to the tranquil sound of the stream trickling by and our owls twit twooing after a day of walking the coast line and visiting the RSPB at Arne . It has its own small log/coal burner to make it nice and cosy and there is a lovely comfy double bed to relax on. You will also hear the night time noises of our woodland friends -the foxes barking and the deer rutting.
There is no wifi or electricity at the shepherds hut. This is your time away from your devices. The lighting is by lanterns powered by battery. So bring a good torch and some easy to slip on foot wear e.g. flip flops. If the weather forecast is inclement then waterproof foot gear is a good idea eg wellies. Come as if you are camping bringing your bedding (pillows, duvets & bottom sheet or sleeping bag) and wash things including towel. If you are cycling or coming by train or if you would just like us to provide you with bedding then we can happily do this for a small charge. There is a shower and loo in the downstairs of our house with independent access . This is about 100 yards away from the hut through a gate. We very much appreciate it if you can leave the hut as you find it by sweeping it out, clearing the ash from the fire and depositing your rubbish in the appropriately labelled bins by the shower room. We supply the first bucket of coal and kindling for you free of charge if you require any further buckets then there is a small charge of £5.
Once voted by the Guardian as the best place to live in England, Wareham has a great Saturday market every week come rain or shine. There is a farmer's market on the 4th Thursday of the month and a weekly produce market run by the local auctioneers. There is also an urban farm shop called the Salt Pig and two supermarkets the Co-op and Sainsbury's.
  • We were so happy to have found this place. Everything we needed for a cosy get away. Claire couldn't have helped enough. Lovely warm welcome and yummy breakfast ingredients too. Thank you!

    Kat2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my partner stayed at this delightful Sheppard's hut during the weekend of storm Dennis. Let me clear any doubt you might have about this place being cold, small or unsafe - we left thinking "was there even a storm?" The burner was so effective we found ourselves opening the windows to let heat out. During a storm. Trust me you won't be cold. For the size of the hut it feels like every inch has been taken into account to make it as useful as possible while still being presented as uncluttered or tight for movement. And as for safety, well we didn't blow away in winds reported at 50mph so neither will you. The host Claire is awesome, super friendly and genuinely has good vibes. Made us feel completely at ease and really puts in the effort. We stayed during valentine's weekend and she put petals down which was a nice touch. The food provided was incredible and all from the farm which made it even more special. It really is a gem of a find, even in the storm you could still hear the stream rolling by which is better than any sleep noise apps out there. We'v not stayed in a Sheppard's hut before but I can guarantee we won't stay in one better like this one ever again!

  • On our way back from a 2 night stay. Very cosy and warm with a coal stove and pretty lanterns. We loved making a fire and sitting outside getting back to nature. Thoughtful breakfast items from the farm and Claire was an amazing host, making sure we were both OK and looking after us. We are definitely feeling rested and will be back again soon!

    Natalie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay here despite the January weather! Cosy cabin and great setting in a little wood with stream running next to it. The breakfast food was amazing and Claire was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back

  • Claire's shepherds' van is a little piece of utter tranquility in the middle of the woods. Highly recommend if you just want some time out from your life's craziness. Cosy and comfy right next to nature.

  • A back to nature and simplicity experience with a generous host nearby.

  • This shepherds hut is a real gem. It has everything you need for a quiet and peaceful get away. The woodland setting is perfect and a great base for exploring the Purbeck countryside. Claire is a wonderful hostess and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks again for the most perfect birthday weekend away! I’ll definitely be back!

  • We had a lovely time at the Stable Barn despite the horrendous weather (Storm Dennis!). It’s the best Airbnb we have stayed at so far - thoughtfully designed and very well equipped, it is also in an excellent location for the many attractions this part of Dorset has to offer. Gail is a warm and welcoming host, always at hand if needed and with some great tips for places to visit and eat. We definitely hope to return.

    Jo2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Stable Barn is absolutely beautiful and Gail is a superb host. The Barn is equipped with everything you need for your stay and all equiment and furniture are top quality (sorry about the two broken wine glasses!). We had a powercut on our first day (Storm Ciara), only for half an hour but Gail came round with some delicious home made stew just in case we were not able to cook anything. It was much appreciated and saved us from having to go out. We had a fantastic week and despite the weather we were out every day visiting places like Lulworth Cove (6 mile walk along the coastal path through Durdle Door and Scratchy Bottom!! and return), West Bay (brilliant food at the Watch House Cafe on the front, Keralan Fish Curry and Crab Linguine is a must!!) and Max Gate, the house of Thomas Hardy ( what a dark horse!!). All great places and we always looked forward to returning to The Stable Barn at the end of each day, ready to cosy in and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Thanks for a brilliant week Gail, your barn is beautiful.

  • A lovely comfortable place to stay, beautifully equipped and tastefully finished. Gail is a welcoming and helpful host.

    Lesley2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • House was really lovely, everything you could need and comfortable, heating was great, kitchen fully equipped. Upstairs shower was a little hard to control the temperature and occasionally got super hot but if you start a little cooler than you want, it gets slightly warmer after a minute or so. I'm 6"2 and the shower hose was just about high enough so just a warning for taller people might have to duck a little. Overall, it was a great holiday, great value and Gail was a great host :)

    Ollie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z

The cider shed is a cosy hideaway located in our garden/orchard in a unique peaceful setting. Whatever the season you will be sure of a lush green view with plenty garden birds to watch. The garden is completely private being enclosed on all sides by native hedging. Our house is in close proximity. A Continental Breakfast is provided. We are a short drive from Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum and Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.
The accommodation is warm, clean and compact with a small area of decking to the front. We offer WiFi, a Smart TV and a silent fridge. We have now added a bathroom for your own private use. A Breakfast Basket is provided (continental).
We are very rural off the beaten track. I would recommend that only guests with their own transport book as there is no public transport and the nearest railway station is Wool. Nearest village is Bere Regis 1.5 miles away which has a small shop and a couple of pubs. Wareham and Dorchester is less than 20 minutes away. Lulworth Cove is a 10 minute drive and Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum are 5 minutes away.

Honeysuckle Lodge is a unique blend of luxury mixed with the classic beach/shepherds hut design. It combines spa like experiences such as drenching shower and a hot tub surrounded by living walls; with home from home comforts such as cosy duvets, soft pillows and HD TV with Amazon Fire stick. Located on the site of an 18th Century Grade II listed building, in a small village with a fantastic local pub and village shop. Guests self check-in and out.
The lodge although small boasts a brand new en-suit with drenching rain shower head, stone sink and exposed copper piping. There is a double bed with cosy bedding, tea making facilities, Nespresso coffee machine and light continental breakfast. The Lodge also has use of a hot tub located just outside the lodge, surrounded by a living wall which gives privacy and a unique jungle feel. The Lodge is built in the grounds of our circa 18th Century Grade II Listed Thatched house which is located next to the A354 - this does mean that you will hear cars and often farm machinery passing during the day and sometimes at night.
The Royal Oak pub is the best local you could ask for. Serving fantastic food and drink and run by very friendly people. There is also a village shop too. All of which is within 2-3 minutes walk.
  • Lovely stay, very clean and friendly.

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Incredible little lodge, perfect for a relaxing couples’ break. Built by the hosts, it’s clear that a lot of thought went into the experience of their guests. If you’re happy to drive for 20 minutes in any direction then there are endless options for day trips. The local pub was a great recommendation and just a short walk from the accommodation. To all future guests - kick back and enjoy!

    Sam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little Airbnb! The decor is so cosy and Jeremy and Chloe have done a wonderful job creating this little oasis. The hot tub is a thankful retreat after a long walk in the rain. Milborne is a delightful town, free from masses of tourists, and full of history and poetic scenery. Highly recommend visiting nearby Milton Abbey and Durdle Door. One note- there isn’t really a place to eat inside the bnb, but if you aren’t opposed to bed snacks then you’ll have a grand time!

    Lillith2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! Jeremy was the perfect host and we couldn’t have asked for a better night away. The lodge is amazing, so well equipped and the decor is modern and stylish, with lovely little touches everywhere! We really appreciated the wine, milk and orange juice in the fridge too. If you’re staying on a Sunday be sure to try the fantastic carvery at The Royal Oak pub just a stones throw away from the lodge. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back 5*

We welcome you to our second family home! The grade II listed cottage is over 250 years old. Situated in the village of Stoborough, it is walking distance from Wareham town, on the river Frome which opens out to Poole Harbour. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodation is flexible for couples and families. Please note due to the age of the cottage and the fact that it is thatched there may be the odd cobweb/spider around - they unfortunately work faster than us!
The cottage is full of character and is in a beautiful area and makes an ideal get-away any time of year. It is a fantastic base for exploring the area on foot, bicycle or car and there is ample parking for two cars off the road, in the lovely large garden. Downstairs there is a kitchen with washing machine, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher and an open fireplace. There are two bathrooms with bath. One bathroom has an immersion heater to heat water (The other bathroom has a bath with overhead shower with constant hot water from boiler. Bedroom 1 downstairs has a double bed and a single bed with extra pull out bed under which makes it ideal for a young family. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board. There is a gas fire in the sitting room/dining area which heats the room nice and quickly. There are cards, board games, music centre DVD and TV , books, games console and maps in the sitting room and information on local history/walks etc. Bedroom 2 up STEEP stairs has I double bed and one single bed and dimplex heaters. Outside there is a patio area with table and chairs and a barbecue. We have a large garden, ideal for badminton/bat and ball games in the summer. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE SORRY BUT WE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY COTS OR HIGHCHAIRS
The cottage is situated in the village of Stoborough and you can walk directly onto the beautiful Stoborough Heath. It is a 15 minute walk into Wareham, which is a historic Saxon walled town with pubs, tea shops, Post Office, banks, restaurants and supermarkets including Sainsburys. There is also a pub - The King's Arms, in Stoborough itself only a 5 minute walk away, as well as a convenient campsite shop with off-licence, open every day. Beautiful Arne, RSPB owned, is only a 5 minute drive.
  • Excellent stay at a beautiful cottage

    Adrien2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliantly quirky and old characterful cottage within walking distance of beautiful Wareham. Steps up to bedroom 1 wonderfully worn might be less appreciated by the less able! All round lovely cosy cottage within easy distance of many Dorset highlights

    Steve2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Denise’s cottage was cosy, quaint and cute - a fabulous base to visit the many treats the Jurassic Coast has to offer, and walking distance from Wareham.

    Rosie2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, really warm and cosy! Fab location and near to the great tourist attractions that Dorset has to offer. Great amenities and a great host! We loved all the board games in the front room! Always fun to play on a cold, dark night in front of the fireplace! I would definitely recommend :)

    Laura2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great wee cottage with everything you would need. The garden was delightful too and became a great morning coffee spot! Walking distance from Wareham which was super useful. Only issue we had was with the shower which we affectionately called 'an adventure' each time we used it as both the pressure and temperature were quite temperamental! Many thanks to Denise for quick communication and easy check in and lovely touches (tea, coffee and milk were greatly appreciated after a long journey!)

    Nik2019-08-05T00:00:00Z

  • Apple Lodge was just perfect for the night I stayed. Such a cute little place which was very cosy and comfortable and had everything I needed. Rosie and Dave were very accommodating before I set off to a friends wedding that day! Really recommend this charming place!

    Ross2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay in the cute Apple lodge. It is located in the backyard of the house and a good place to experience "glamping". There is a bathroom (without a shower) in the house itself and a small fridge to put some stuff in. There is a water cooker, cutlery and plates available in the lodge. The backyard is nice to relax and to spend some time in the hammock. We stayed there one night but if we had more time we would have stayed for more days!

    Redmer2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Rosie's apple lodge. It's situated in their beautiful backyard and located conveniently if you, like us, want to visit the jurassic coast and durdle door. Rosie is very welcoming and friendly, wasted no time in giving us tips on where to eat and even drawing us a handy map! Lovely, would definitely reccomend!

It’s great to stay somewhere with so many things provided - iron and hairdryer, tea, coffee etc which means you don’t have to bring everything with you. Also it’s useful to be able to have a simple breakfast at home and the facilities available to prepare picnics. Ray has really thought of everything you would need and more. • Great location for visiting Dorset. Walks on the doorstep and lovely coastline a short drive away. The house is spacious and everything you can think of is provided. Beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of hot water. We enjoyed lighting the woodburner in the evenings too.

    Elizabeth2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my mum and our dog Clover had a wonderful stay at Lyndsey's place. The location is perfect - quiet and peaceful but very very easy to get to loads of great places in no time at all. We visited Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, Studland Bay and Swanage and only stopped there as we were all tired out! The place is beautifully clean and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The log burner was a welcome addition as it dropped to -2 one night, but we were nice and toasty in the house. The games were also great when we had a rainy morning! We'd definitely recommend Lyndsey's place to anyone wanting a break in this gorgeous part of the country.

We're pleased to welcome you to our thatched cottage in a friendly village, in the heart of Dorset. We are in Hardy Country, close to the Jurassic Coast, the Isle of Purbeck and historical county town of Dorchester. In an attached annexe is our guest bedroom with a fabulous high ceiling and exposed timber beams. We hope you like thoughtful touches we've added to make it as restful as possible. Parking is on the driveway directly outside the guest room. Cats live with us in our home.
The guest bedroom in our cottage is light, airy and comfortable. It contains a large wardrobe (with shoe rack inside), a desk with lockable drawers and extra bed drawers to store all your possessions away. The private bathroom is located opposite the bedroom. There's a nice range of hot drinks available in the bedroom to make whenever you like, plenty of fresh towels and bedding. To help you explore Dorset, we have maps, guides and Rich - being a proper local - has some great ideas if you want to explore the lesser known parts of marvellous Dorset. We can cater for all sorts of dietary preferences and like to think our vegetarian and vegan breakfasts are a bit special, including loads of fresh fruit, super tasty bread and Kate's homemade cereals. All served in the kitchen. You can use the fridge in the kitchen to store any of your own food. The guest space in cottage annexe is very much part of our home, and we will share the front entrance and hallway.
Milborne St Andrew is a pretty village on the edge of an AONB. We have a village shop, Post Office, public house and attractive 11th century church. Located in open countryside between the historic Roman town of Dorchester and Georgian Blandford Forum, it's ideally situated to explore Hardy Country, as well as the Jurassic Coast. Visit Lawrence of Arabia's home at Cloud's Hill, Maiden Castle Iron Age Hillfort, Chesil Beach, the Tank Museum, Tolpuddle Martys Museum and Lulworth Cove; to mention but a few of Dorset's delights. The towns and beaches of Bournemouth and Poole are 18 miles away; a pleasant drive of about half an hour.
  • Kate and Rich are wonderful people and extremely welcoming. I was there for all of two days and it felt like home. Kate was on top of everything and went well beyond in every respect. Breakfast was to die for and beyond what I have seen even at the nicest of hotels. I honestly can't say enough nice things about the pair of them. Absolutely fantastic hosts in every regard.

  • We had the pleasure of staying in Kate and Rich’s lovely cottage. The room is lovely, bright and comfy and comes with its own very clean and modern bathroom. Kate and Rich made us so welcome in their home and were always happy to help and suggest places to visit. The wonderful breakfasts were really appreciated and so yummy. There are many places to visit just a short drive from the cottage and some great walks in the surrounding area. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider coming back again.

  • Tabitha’s house is wonderful. We booked 1 room but as there were no other guests staying we had the whole 8 bedroom house to ourselves. We had booked a smaller room but Tabitha very kindly moved us to the master bedroom where there was a beautiful freestanding bath with a view of the stunning scenery. We only stayed for one night and wish we had booked for longer.

  • Such a cute and cosy little bolthole; had everything we were looking for, and some lovely touches like a jug of fresh milk and homemade biscuits! It was really comfortable and so quiet...We slept so well! Great local pub in the village, and close to the coast where we made the most of some sun and explored Durdle Door. Thanks for a great stay. Hopefully we’ll be back in the summer!
