Holiday Rentals in Bowning

Just booked in Bowning

4 bed cottage on working sheep farm. Fully equipped kitchen with AC. Wood stove and AC in living room. Heater and Electric blankets in some of the bedrooms. Ideally Located 3 Kms off Hume hwy, 330 Kms Sydney, 550 Kms Melbourne. Cottage is old and a bit worn but has all creature comforts and plenty of space both inside and out. 2 bathrooms (1 very original!), laundry and carport.
The cottage has 4 bedrooms. Main bedroom has a Queen size bed. Second bedroom has a bunk, double on the bottom with single over. The third bedroom has a double bed and the fourth has two sets of single bunks and an additional single bed. There is an eat-in kitchen with good cooking facilities and a large spacious lounge area. The main bathroom has a shower and the second bathroom is in original condition!
We are a working sheep farm conveniently located just off the Hume Hwy. We live amongst other farming properties and enjoy a wonderful community spirit. Beside our sheep and cattle we have 2 tame Alpacas and a poddy lamb.....now full grown! We have cats, working dogs and our lovely Cavoodle, Ollie!! You can often see kangaroos on the hills at dawn and dusk. Obviously being on a working farm means animal noises! Unfortunately we can't always keep them quiet!!
  • Mark and Catherine were delightful hosts, kind and thoughtful, and effective in communication. The cottage was a well-needed change from Sydney. The property is stunning, with beautiful rolling hills scattered with granite boulders that reminds you of Australia's Alps region. Thanks for a memorable brief stay, the kids loved it; we'll hopefully be back.

  • A return visit to a great location. Again a very comfortable pleasant stay with everything provided.

    Martin2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived at destination, we discovered a very typical rustic cottage, with its old charm but with all the comfort you need. The cottage is practical and we had the chance to have the entire home for us. We stayed for one night only and we didn't had the chance to take a walk around the propriety but what we can say is that this is a great spot in the middle of the nature and a good place to stop on the road between Sydney and Melbourne. A good place to stay for the nature lovers !

  • Beautiful sunrise over the straw coloured hills... A perfect, quiet place to stop off the Hume for the weary traveller. We had a 4month old and Mark and Catherine had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here on our next trip

  • Cute and very comfy cottage. We had a great night's sleep for our drive to Melbourne the next day. Great space for a large group!

    Becky2015-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the cottage for a night on my way to Melbourne from Sydney, it's the perfect place to relax after a day of driving. The kitchen is well appointed and the bed is super comfy, it was lovely to wake up to a pretty sunrise and the sound of the birds. I've already booked to stay again on my drive home!

  • One Tree Cottage allowed us a small glimpse of life on an authentic Aussie farm, and it was fabulous. The gardens, paddocks, animals, and gorgeous scenery were wonderful as we took long walks with our dog. The cottage looks old-fashioned but the plumbing, heating, bed, shower, TV, etc. are all first-class and comfortable. We arrived as Bimbi was putting fresh home-made bread in the cottage for us, and the hospitality of Bimbi and Kim was incredibly kind. At night, we went outside to look at the stars without any city lights, and we loved it. This cottage is a hidden gem. We highly recommend it for people who want the Aussie farm experience.

    Scott2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property and Kim and Bimbi were very welcoming! It is a shame we could not stay longer!

    Deborah2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Bimbi were fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their cottage is beautiful and we had a very restfull night knowing our dogs were safely with us. A rare privilege! They went the extra mile with fresh farmbread, figs and other homemade goodies. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Linda2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful little place, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Kim and Bimbi were lovely, arrived with beautiful fresh bread! Loved our stay, will come again if and when we get the chance!

    Christian2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a peaceful and comfortable stay at One Tree Cottage. Kim and Bimbi are warm and welcoming hosts who made us beautiful fresh bread and gave helpful tip on places to visit. They happily allowed us to have our dog stay with us and even had dog bowls and a kennel available for us to use. The cottage was clean and warm, and amenities are thoughtfully provided. We loved the beautiful surroundings and the rustic country charm of the cottage. Thank you to Kim and Bimbi for making this available to us.

    Yu2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Bimbi's cottage was lovely. Amazing attention to detail and quirkiness in the decoration and we have already recommended to friends making the journey between Sydney and Melbourne.

    Sarah2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and relaxing. Kim and Bimbi are lovely.

    Rosalind2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you are hankering for a weekend away from the Big Smoke you can't do better than hiding away in Yass for the weekend and staying at Kim and Bimbi's amazing cottage. There was a bit of an Arctic blast in the air the weekend we stayed and I was worried the cottage might not be warm but it turned out to be incredibly toasty and cozy. Our hosts were warm and friendly and left us farm fresh eggs for breakfast. The farm itself offers great walks and plenty of animals to befriend. Close enough to Yass and far enough away to feel secluded. A perfect weekend

  • Wow what can I say. Fiona's house and hospitality was simply superb. After three tiresome days at a field day it was such a pleasure to return to the tranquility of Tullyvalle Farm. Scrumptious breakfast set me up for the day. Would highly recommend and I will definitely be back to enjoy Fiona's and Alan's generous hospitality.

    Paul2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We found a cool air conditioned bedroom and a plunge into the pool just what the doctor ordered on a hot and sticky night. Fiona and Alan are charming, thoughtful hosts and breakfast was delicious.

  • Arriving at Fiona and Alan's was like visiting good friends. The welcome was warm and generous and the accommodation was top class and comfortable. A lovely room with French doors to a shady verandah. The breakfast included croissants and home made jams and Ronnie the dog was a friendly presence. Wonderful hosts.

  • We had a brief visit to Tully's B&B, 1 night on our way from Brisbane to Melbourne. We stayed in the Jade Room, a beautifully appointed room in Alan and Fiona's gorgeous home. Both Alan and Fiona were home to greet us, and were friendly and approachable. They were able to help us with suggestions for dinner in nearby Yass, and supplied a scrumptious breakfast, and even packed us some fruit salad for the road! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room well set up with its on TV and reverse cycle system. Will definitely stay again if we're going past. Thank you!

  • Where do I begin? from the moment I drove up the driveway having been texted re my arrival and that I was clear on directions, I felt like I had come home ….. the welcome was that good :) and with a 4 night stay over with Fiona and Allen it was like that every single day and certainly felt a part of their home and family. I had travelled without my husband to do a Glass Workshop with Peter Minson Glass in Binalong a short distance drive away. My experience was better than fantastic, it was exceptional and my hosts made that possible with great hospitality. Looking forward to returning in the future ….. Thank you doesn't nearly say enough for my experience.

Modern, self-contained, pool house, and working sheep/cattle property in a peaceful country setting, 20 minutes from Yass. Great water views overlooking Murrumbidgee River and exclusive use of swimming pool. Break your trip with your four legged friend/s, or stay a few days and relax in our clean country fresh air. See the stars, and hear the silence.
The space consists of a queen size bed with a modern ensuite bathroom, and a sitting area with a sink, refrigerator, microwave and stove. The cooking space is quite small and best for fairly basic food preparation. Also included is a TV. (32" flat screen) and a DVD player. We are very pleased to announce that we have just installed reverse cycle heating and air conditioning for your added comfort. There are also ceiling fans if required and gas heating, and an oil heat bank heater for the cooler weather. A 'Tastic' heater is in the bathroom for extra comfort. Enjoy exclusive use of our 10m pool, BBQ and deck. We will take children, over 5 yrs old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times. A futon or fold up bed is available as an extra bed, and the charge for extras per night is $30.00, to cover costs with extra laundry, cleaning etc. You will find some up to date magazines to relax with while here, DVDs and complimentary chocolate. The nearest shop/food outlet is in Yass, so I advise guests to bring dinner with them, or to book a home cooked meal to be served in the BnB.
This is a peaceful rural working property, 20 minutes drive from the town of Yass, with great views of Burrinjuck Dam. It is within easy reach of Canberra for sight seeing. Ie The National Gallery of Australia, Australia Museum, The Arboretum, High Court of Australia, The National War Memorial, National Capital Zoo and Aquarium, Floriade to name a few. Yass has its very own wine bar Yazzbar, (open Thurs to Sat) and Farmers Market on the first and third Saturdays of every month, a great selection of coffee shops and restaurants. A good place to stay to break a long journey and see more than just a motel room.
  • We had such a lovely, relaxing time staying at Jacquie's Airbnb. The view was amazing! The pool house was very clean and had everything we needed for the night. It was great to bring our dog to the getaway as well :) thanks for having us!

    melissa2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jacquie's directions were essential as our GPS system did not recognize the address. We were warmly welcomed by Michael and he showed us to our self contained cabin which had absolutely fantastic views. We were also warned where we were likely to meet kangaroos on the drive home at night. The place was clean and tidy and well equipped for our stay.

    Margaret2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful property in a stunning part of the country. Jacquie is a warm and welcoming host and the pool house is well-appointed and comfortable. We even had a late afternoon dip in the pool after a long car ride while the dog chewed on a pre-loved bone - heaven for all concerned. Highly recommended.

    Hugh2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely studio with breathtaking views :) Jacquie was a lovely host with excellent communication on how to get there and coordinating arrival times. Would love the opportunity to stay there again!

    Kathleen2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The trip to Jacquie's beautiful accomodation was longer than anticipated, but Jacquie waited up late for us to arrive even though we were an hour behind schedule! She shared her knowledge about the area and made sure we had everything we needed. We weren't prepared for the amazing view that was waiting for us in the morning - stunning! I would definitely recommend Jacquie's accomodation for anyone wanting to enjoy a country break away from the hustle and bustle.

    Caitlin2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing find. The location is simply breathtaking. The warm welcome we got from Jacquie and Tom (the gorgeous lab) was lovely. Jacquie prepared a delicious dinner for us of Lasagne and Sticky Date Pudding and we watched the sun set with a glass of red. The accommodation was great. Comfy bed and everything we needed for our one night stay. If we had longer we would've enjoyed the pool, it was clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again if we are in the area.

    Sara2016-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was raining the day we were meant to stay with Jacquie. The lightning storm was terrifying and there is a very long dirt road with no lighting to reach the home. We were arriving at night and didn't feel safe to travel in the weather conditions in the dark on a dirt road in a lightning storm so we unfortunately never stayed at the home. We had to continue driving several additional hours in the middle of the night to reach our final destination. No refund was offered.

    Nicole2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is an oasis. Just amazing. The pool house is so well thought through. Everything you would ever need in a small space. Perfect for 2. The pool is warm. The view incredible. Jacquie is very helpful and friendly. To say this is unique is to understate this little gem. Do not hesitate to book this.... because otherwise someone else will!!!

Our room was excellent and the continental breakfast was great too. We would recommend this property for an overnight stop or a longer restful break. Quaint cottage in the historical village of Binalong. Quiet location with boules court, olive & rosemary grove. Large enclosed outdoor area for summer entertaining & French Godwin fireplace inside to get cosy in winter. Landscaped garden to give you a sense that you are in Tuscany.
Binalong makes for a great weekend escape from both Sydney & Canberra. You can enjoy the peace & quiet the cottage has to offer or you can experience what this area has to offer. Located in town a short stroll from the house you will find Peter Minson Art Gallery. Peter is an internationally recognised glass artist who has just returned from Murano, Italy after being part of the inaugural Murano Glass Festival. Peter studio is open 6 days a week & you will find Peter toiling away in the studio. Coffee & tea available and usually a beautiful Anzac cookie made by Lindsay. Definitely worth visiting. Two doors up is a brand new cafe that has opened - Cafe on Queen. Owned & operated by Jan & Curly. Drop in & say hi & see what is on offer. As you round the corner into Fitzroy Street you will find the local garage, a corner store, Post Office, a small gallery & the Binalong Butchery. From here you can buy some delicious meat & in particular Mick is famous for his Binalong Bangers (sausages). Just a short stroll further up the street you will find our local pub - The Binalong Hotel. Here you will find locals and travellers alike stopping for drinks or a meal. Wednesday night is roast night & often booked out, consider ringing the hotel to make a booking. In town we also have a golf / bowls club that is open to visitors & does meals on the weekend. There is a car museum as well as the gravesite of Johnny Gilbert one of Australia’s infamous bush rangers. Binalong can also be used as a base to further discover the area. We are centrally located to Yass, Harden, Bowning, Jugiong, Galong & Booroowa. Binalong is within easy driving distance to Canberra our nations capital, Young the cherry capital. Come & enjoy our little piece of paradise.
  • This is a perfect spot for a relaxing break, and, for us, a perfect mid break to our travels. I cannot enthuse enough about the garden, fruit trees, herbs, the olive and rosemary grove, a delight everywhere we looked. The house offered everything anyone would need though there is no TV and reception to Vodaphone was non existent, and Telstra was poor., I thoroughly enjoyed having everything off, but if you needed to contact anyone, or had work to do, it may be frustrating.. I loved it and will return when I can ! Lisa and Rita

  • We were looking for a quick and easy stopover on our way from Melbourne to Sydney and Gaenor's place was the perfect fit. It was just right for our little family, a portacot was set up on our arrival, some toys, plus brekkie for the morning. Can't fault it! Will stay again

  • Thank you for such a beautiful stay. By far one of the best air BnB's! We had a lovely morning walk and got to pat a very friendly cow, feed chickens, pat the horse, dogs and cats. Gaenor is lovely and very easy to communicate with. Location was perfect, just off the highway! Would highly recommend! :)

A short drive to some very trendy spots to eat and drink and a lovely spot to sit and watch the beautiful view with a drink & the gorgeous pets!

  • The hospitality is exceptional and it was a priviledge to stay in this historic homestead. Highly recommend it. Wish we'd had more time to explore the garden and property.

  • We stayed with Robert and Ning on Sunday evening and had a wonderful stay. They were extremely accommodating and we loved their new puppy Choco. I asked Ning for some recommendations for dinner and one of them was to even cook us a meal which was so very kind of her to offer. We ended up just going to the local pub and so that we could both have a drink Ning insisted on driving us there and then picking us up afterwards. Next time we plan on heading down Canberra way we will definitely come and stay with these guys again!

    Michael2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property steeped in history. One of the finest homesteads in Australia. A wonderful place to stay!!!!! Thank you Robert for making us feel welcome.

  • Rob & Ning were so responsive to our impromptu request to stay the night. We booked 1.5 hours before arriving and were so pleasantly surprised by the hospitality, wonderful historic house and beautiful gardens (plus we met their son George and his friend who were home from school). We will be back and recommend this hidden treasure to all my friends. Plus we will be back again! Thanks! Regards, Sabine & Bernie

  • We had an amazing weekend at Merryville Farm thanks to Ning and Rob. The photos of the homestead do not give it justice to show how beautiful it is! Ning and Rob truly went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Rob drove us around the farm, and Ning cooked up an amazing breakfast! They are incredibly generous hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting them. The homestead is kept in it's beautiful, immaculate and original condition, it was lovely to enjoy such a beautiful part of Australian history. Thanks Ning and Rob, we hope to come again!

OUR MISSION STATEMENT “To fill the earth with the light, warmth and laughter of great hospitality” Boorowa was settled by the Irish from Tipperary and is a twinning city with Clonoulty. The town is divided by Ryans creek with the Protestants on one side Catholics on the other! Boorowa has long been famed as an Irish town and it is repted that a renowned Scottish nun that was visiting Sydney was asked if she had ever been to Island? "No" she replied, "But I have been to Boorowa!"
The Boorowa Hotel started life as a single story hotel called the "Royal Standard" built in 1880 by Michael O'Dwyer. A second story was added in 1905 and in 1954 it was renamed the Boorowa Hotel. Inside the building you can see the 1880 bricks and the improvement by 1905! There are some stunning historical photos in the Shamrock Cafe` that can be enjoyed through the day with either a coffee or a pint of Guinness from the bar! The accommodation has that old world charm with the outer rooms off the extensive verander being the perfect place to enjoy the setting sun or the cool of the night! Boorowa is a very friendly country town about 1.25 hours from Canberra, an enjoyable evening is easily spent chatting with the locals. Darts and pool are available for guests to enjoy!
  • Mike is an absolute gem! And all the other staff amazing too! Exactly the kind of place we were after. Comfort, character, great food and very welcoming. And they welcomed my furry baby with open arms. Thank you so much! Wish there were more places like this :)

  • This is a traditional pub hotel in a small rural community. First things first, they have Guinness on tap. Michael, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. He worked with us to ensure we got a room that fit our needs. A very nice stay at an affordable price, and dog-friendly as well!

    Alistair2016-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't stay at this place. I had to cancel the booking on the day since one of my family got sick due to heat after cherry picking. I let Michael know and he was very kind to offer for refund even though we canceled on the same day! We said no because it is not fair to get refund from him. Michael was very prompt to reply. For next year Cherry picking trip, we hope to stay at this place and try pub food! Thank you Michael.

  • The place was amazing with lots of space and all the conveniences. It is close to the main road but also extremely peaceful. A good spot from which to explore all the wineries around and Liz gave her recommendations and a map.

    Olia2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we felt really 'special'. Liz and her lovely puppy gave us a great big welcome. Liz showed us around the studio and then put the fire on for us as the evening was quite chilly. Liz also explained how things worked in the studio like the 'funny' light switches and the convection oven. She also made sure that the kids were catered for. There were plenty of toys, books, DVDs and lovely grounds outside to keep us all occupied during our stay. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed for our meals. The beautiful homely touches such as the lovely vase of fresh wattle on the table, the yummy raspberry muffins, the fruit and the fridge filled with breakfast essentials were very much appreciated. The studio was not too far away from the city but its location was semi rural and was situated on a beautiful acreage. We would highly recommend visiting Liz and staying on her property. She was an exceptional host and went over and above. We hope to be back soon Liz, we had a lovely break away. Thank you for your kindness.

  • My business partner and I stayed at The Studio 2 nights so we could work undistracted over the weekend. Liz welcomed us warmly when we arrived and gave us a tour through the house. The fire was on and like many before us, there were freshly baked muffins and lots of breakfast goodies so we didn't have to race out to get supplies the next morning. The Studio is a beautiful space with a great feel inside. It has all the amenities and supplies for a very comfortable stay. The location is great with a good walking track and lots of renowned wineries very close by. Being only 25 minutes from Canberra means the location is easy to get to and yet feels like you're a world away when you arrive. Thanks Liz and Jeff for a great stay. Oh, and we got lots of work done as well!

Our room was newly renovated and very comfortable, with super comfy bed, and toasty warm air-con on those cold early mornings. A delicious continental breakfast awaited us early each morning. Great value, highly recommended and we will be back.

Come and relax in the Old House which has loads of character, only 45 minutes from Canberra. Sit outside in what I call the 'Tuscany' area overlooking the garden whilst you enjoy your breakfast in the mornings or a nice glass of wine in the evenings.
I have two guest rooms. One queen size room and one double room. The house does have a lovely big garden you can sit out in and watch the chooks scratching around. It's especially beautiful in spring and summer.
Gunning is a nice wee country town for a perfect over night stop if you are travelling between Sydney and Melbourne as it is only a few minutes off the Hume Highway. We do not have a local supermarket, but our local service station has a huge range of items. Gunning has the local Telegraph Hotel and they serve lunch and dinner. Gunning also has two gorgeous cafes, the Merino and the Hume. There are a few craft shops and a couple of Antique shops, (one in particular, a little Aladdin's Cave, just full of lots of intriguing Bric a Brac, a must visit). Also, we have the local market day on the last Sunday of the month. Gunning hosts a huge fireworks display once a year in September which attracts a big crowd and well worth a visit. Canberra is only 45-50 minutes from Gunning and the trip takes you through Gundaroo which has The Royal Hotel restaurant called (Grazing)with gorgeous food, the Crowes Wine bar and restaurant which is delightful to visit, and the Cork Street Pizza Place. Gunning has a great history - loads of Bush Ranger stories.
  • We had a lovely one night stay with Carol on our way up north. The house has so much charm and Carol was so welcoming and accommodating particularly when it came to our 21mo daughter. Our bed was extremely comfortable and Carol had a range of cereals, fresh berries and yoghurt waiting for us in the morning. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Fiona and Allen are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great stopover location on the Hume hwy. Beautiful clean house with good size rooms and with ensuite attached. Comfy beds and delicious breakfast. Outdoor pool is also lovely. My best Airbnb yet. Thanks guys.

  • This lovely b&b is right on the Hume Highway, super easy for hopping off for a nights sleep. The room waa quite small but had everything that we needed plus a super ensuite and fab shower. Breakfast was lovely, croissants, toast, fresh fruit and bircher muesli along with a great range of teas and coffee, juices etc. Would definitely recommend ☺

  • Allan was a perfect host - very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was warm and comfortable and the house is situated on a lovely property. We were treated to a delicious breakfast of Bircher muesli, croissants and fresh fruit. It was a most enjoyable stay

  • Great place to stay on the way to Melbourne. Fantastic hosts, very comfortable and clean rooms and awesome breakfast. All you could ask for in a B&B. Many thanks

    Daniel2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Alan were very welcoming, even putting my daughter and me in a larger room than originally booked, offering us wine and lemonade and a cheese plate upon arrival. The property was exceeded all expectations - the bathrooms are brand new and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and also will be coming back myself. The choice of homemade preserves was absolutely delicious and top marks for the coffee machine! Well done and thank you Fiona and Alan.

  • Immaculate property. Beautiful house, very cosy room with the en-suite and walk out veranda. Conveniently located right off the M31, so its perfect for those driving back and forth from Melbourne to Sydney or for people touring the area. We loved the breakfast, almost all sourced from the farm and home made. Fiona and Alan, great company and very helpful. Two thumbs up!

The Murrumabeman Tavern or Pub provides substantial tasty meals which are good value for money and we have a new upmarket restaurant opening in August located at the Shaws Vineyard. It has a Mediterranean decor and is popular with locals and those from Canberra.
  • Very friendly host, excellent communication. It was a lovely place to stay while visiting family. Highly recommended.

  • Louise made us feel very at home. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

    Michele2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Norbert were most welcoming and hospitable. The property is peaceful and rural with kangaroos and birdlife aplenty. An excellent location from which to explore the Canberra region vineyards. The bedroom was private with a very comfortable bed, and there was a good sized private bathroom opposite. For activities beyond sleeping we were offered full use of the very large sitting room with big TV and similarly large kitchen/breakfast room. Great value for the location, and we quickly felt like we'd known Louise and Norbert for years!

    Gisela2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's house is the perfect out of town getaway if you're travelling to Canberra - the property is just lovely, the house is beautiful and Louise and her husband were super friendly, hospitable and easy to talk to! I had a great sleep-in in the bed, the puppies are very cute and the guest area is private, clean and relaxing. Thanks guys :)

    Stevie2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and her husband made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our young daughter enjoyed playing with the dogs and we all slept very well. It was lovely to meet Louise and her husband, we will definitely revisit if we are back down that way.

    Ray2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place to stay away from the city with the convenience of access to Canberra and this worked really well for us. We had a very comfortable and restful stay, thank you Louise.

    Shaun2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • A warm atmosphere and friendly hosts. Great to be out in the country with horses in the back paddock

    Alistair2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Norbitt made us feel very much at home. They are particularly friendly and relaxed hosts. They went to extraordinary lengths to accommodate both our teenage kids in separate beds. They also supply a good range of things for breakfast incl fresh laid home eggs. Bedrooms are very small and slightly airless but beds are comfy. Nice rural area close to a number of good wineries and upmarket restaurants. No cafes around though. All in all good value for brief stopover.

  • The Burrow is adorable. Beautiful gem that welcomed us as soon as we got up the stairs. We smiled as we walked through each room. Lounge room is really comfy with 2 large rocking chairs, large couch, heater and big TV. There's a sitting nook, and the 2 bedrooms are gorgeous, beds are comfy and the whole place is set out beautifully. Would return in a heartbeat (shame we only had 1 night there).

    Amanda2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We love The Burrow - this is the 2nd time we've stayed there in a week (we felt so comfortable staying there on our trip up to Taree that we had to stay there again on our way back to Melbourne). Boorowa is also a beautiful town, with Irish heritage, lovely walks, scenery and stores; the pubs have great food and the locals are lovely and friendly.

  • A huge property with a large house is the understatement of the year. The land is bigger then a few suburbs combined and the home is a mansion. Such a great place an hour from Canberra in the middle of a serene countryside on top of a hill. The views alone are worth the trip. Such a great place to visit to get away from the hussle and bussle of city life. Ensure you grab all your groceries on your way in because you'll never want to leave until the end.

    Daniel2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a wonderful stay. The house is spacious, beautifully appointed, and had all the supplies we needed for a weekend getaway. The view of the dam was stunning and the expansive landscape surrounding the property was a nice retreat from the daily grind of the city. It was a bit tricky driving down the bumpy dirt road at times however we were warned beforehand and provided with handy instructions. Overall a delightful stay!

    Deborah2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was extremely helpful. I had many questions to ask and all were answered in a timely manner. The house was lovely and the property was just amazing. Thank you, we had a very pleasant stay.

    Jessica2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The photographs don't give you the full impact of this huge home. A great place to while away the time, snug with fire places and central heating. The 8km of dirt road to get to the house is in good condition, just ask for details on which offshoots to follow before you leave home. Our small dog loved exploring outside the perimeter of the house (pretty much fully fenced in) and the kids loved going further afield to adventure- my sister and I content to sit in the lounge or deck and take in the views over coffee or wine! Was roomy and comfortable for the eight of us. It has some beautiful old-wares in the home that reminded us of our Grandmothers, a fab clock collection.

    Alex2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The property is in a beautiful rural setting with magnificent views. The hose is roomie and worked well for a group of 12 adults.

  • This was a grand homestead with a spectacular view. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was restful, peaceful and beautiful. Plenty of firewood to keep us cosy and a large kitchen to accommodate us all. We felt secluded from the world. Just perfect.

  • My extended family had a lovely weekend in this cottage. Some cute extra touches like homemade shortbread and macaroons and other treats were appreciated and the host was lovely. The beds have electric blankets and the home has three separate living areas each with a heater or fire so we were very cosy. Loved it.

  • Wonderful stay in a home within a town. The house gave us space to relax on our own or come together as a family. We even coped with one bathroom and toilet. The house was fitted out with everything you need, I even found a pair of scissors which I needed to open a packet. Thank you for sharing your family home and allowing my family to have the best stay in Boorowa we have ever had.
