“East of the city centre and stretching as far as Brighton Marina, Kemptown, Brighton is a flamboyant mix of grand seafront crescents, elegant squares, and a bustling High Street shopping area with a lively village feel. Kemptown has been the main shopping area in this part of Brighton since the late 18th century which is reflected in the many independent businesses still thriving along the bustling thoroughfare. From long established names to recent gems you’ll find an amazing array of fabulous foods, independent wine shops, second hand stores and chic design shops. You'll also find a number of quirky antique shops lining the streets. Kemptown is also home to the city’s thriving ‘gay quarter’ so expect to find LGBT orientated shops dotted inbetween the coffee houses, deli bars and specialist shops. A bohemian, lively air mixed in with an eclectic range of shops makes Brighton Kemptown well worth adding to your shopping map.”

“Set in an ecologically designed building, this iconic library is probably one of the best ones you'll ever see (bar all the classic ones in big cities like NYC, London, Paris, etc). It's roomy, beautiful, has free WIFI, an excellent collection of books, movies, music as well as daily national and international press. Its staff are amicable, polite and informative. There's also a little cafe where you can get your coffee/tea essentials and a few organic juices and cakes. Really not bad at all for a library.”
