Winery
“ Founded on the cornerstones of family, tradition, and romance, Messina Hof Winery & Resort has held its place as a Brazos Valley staple since its start in 1977. The Tasting Room is the original building on the estate and used to be the Ursuline Academy, an all-girls school. Many original elements from the academy were preserved when constructing the Tasting Room guests enjoy today. “Famous North Gate hangout. If you've never been, you must at least walk through so you can say you've been there. Country music, always crowded in the evenings, great people-watching opportunity.”

“This place is a little hidden in the shopping center by Home Goods, but it has a delicious and casual "california flair" about it. They have homemade gelatto that you can order from the sidewalk without actually going in the restaurant. Lots of great wines and the wood-fired avacado on the appetizer menu is so good!”

“If you’ve never tried a strawberry tart from Café Eccell, you’re missing out. They’re a local delicacy! Head there for a casual-but-nice lunch or dinner (with dessert!), or order takeout and come back to enjoy a quieter meal at Reunion House. The food is so-so, Saturday brunch is good, but those tarts are amazing!”

“Don’t let the ramshackle exterior keep you from checking out this local hamburger joint. All the fun of it’s more famous sister, The Dixie Chicken, but with a more family friendly atmosphere. We recommend the Tijuana Fries with your order.”
