“Vörösmarty Square is the most elegant pedestrian zone in Budapest. It lies at the northern end of Váci Street (fashion street) and above the western end of the Millennium Underground (Metro line 1). On the north side of the square stands the eclectic Gerbeaud House, home to the world-famous Hungarian confectionery.”

Church
“St Stephen’s Basilica of Budapest is one of the most beautiful and significant churches and touristic attractions of the country. This is partly due to its historical heritage, of being dedicated to the holy king St Stephen who was also the founder of the Hungarian state, and partly to the architectural and artistic value of the building itself. ”

“Hip place, stunning atmosphere with an urban garden and an open kitchen. In the summer they have concerts and open the back area up-can get very popping'! Can eat here for dinner earlier. The place is always full, so if you go there be lucky or make a reservation before.”

“kvárium Klub, the surrounding , and the adjacent Deák Square together constitute the largest and perhaps best-known meeting point of downtown Budapest. Thousands of youngsters gather here night after night to chill out in the park or on the steps of the club. Akvárium Klub is more than a simple bar: it is a culture center with a wide musical repertoire from mainstream to underground. There is always a good concert and a smashing exhibition, performance, or other event happening here, in a friendly scene, situated right in the city center. Furthermore, Volt-Lokál found inside brings the atmosphere of the best festivals to Budapest week by week.”

“The A38 ship is a local favorite and a concert venue attracting high-profile bands and DJs. From jazz to pop to rock, A38 displays a wide range of genres when it comes to music. They offer the best parties which all take place on a ship giving some of the best views of the Danube. A38 is located on the Buda side of the city and features live music on the deck. The basement floor is a great place for dinner but keep in mind, like most restaurants in Budapest, they don’t offer many vegetarian options.”

Art Museum
“A treasure box of Hungarian art from the Gothic times up to the end of the 20th century. The four floors of the Royal Palace, part of which was converted into the Gallery building in the 60s, houses superb collections of Hungarian Art! From time to time you can also visit fantastic temporary exhibitons, like the one which is open until 20 October: Surrealism, from Dali to Magritte. Do not miss it. An audiogide helps you to learn more about the pieces of art in English, French, German, Hungarian and Italian.”

“From panoramic igloos to glass-fronted terraces augmenting Art Nouveau hotels, Budapest has any number of terraces to sip mulled wine in the warmth of indoors while watching the snow fall and Christmas lights tinkle. Some are seasonal additions or conversions to popular alfresco spots in summer, others imaginative creations that have only been unveiled this year. Those operating as extensions to top-notch restaurants can offer fine fare to go with your glass of red, a surprisingly affordable experience particularly if you factor in lunchtime deals as well. Live music is an occasional feature, DJs too.”

“Gellért Hill offers some of the best panoramic views of Budapest. Named after bishop Gellért (Gerald), who was thrown to death from the hill by pagans in the fight against Christianity in 1046. At the top of the hill is the Citadel (Citadella) and Budapest's Statue of Liberty is also located here; you can see her from all parts of the city - a statue of a woman holding a palm leaf.”
