Looking out across Donegal Bay on the northwest coast of Ireland, Bundoran is a popular seaside resort and the most southerly town in the county of Donegal. In the evening, Bundoran is a haven for music, hosting some of the leading stars of the Irish country music scene.

As Bundoran is a seaside resort, it attracts most of its visitors during the summer, particularly from June to August. One of the busiest weekends is over three days in June, when people flock to the big music and surfing event in the town. May and September tend to be quieter and the weather is still warm. Experienced surfers tend to come later in the year, looking for apartments to rent in Bundoran from September to February when the swells are at their most powerful. The town is tranquil between October and March, when the nights are longer and wild weather comes in from the Atlantic, with high winds and heavy rain possible.

Fairy Bridges and Wishing Chair

Fairy Bridges and Wishing Chair have attracted people for hundreds of years, drawn by the power of myth and nature. The Fairy Bridges is a rugged arch that has formed naturally in the cliffs and features blowholes where the waves rise from below. Superstitious visitors sit in the curved stone formation of the nearby Wishing Chair and tap twice before making a wish.

Waterworld

Nestled between Atlantic Way and the seafront is Waterworld, one of the biggest aqua parks in Ireland and home to wheelchair-accessible facilities. This watery indoor landscape features wave pools, the fastest slide in Ireland, rapids, and a pirate galleon ship set among the palms.

Creevykeel Court Tomb

A 10-minute car journey to the foot of the Tievebaun Mountain will transport you around 5,000 years back in time to the Creevykeel Court Tomb. This monument stretches in a wedge shape over 50 metres with fascinating arrangements of stones and rocks throughout and is considered to be one of the finest examples of a court tomb in Ireland.
