  • Victoria made us feel very welcome. We didn't meet personally but she certainly proved welcoming in her correspondence right up to our stay. Windrush is an idyllic small village where this accommodation is conveniently situated just off the A40 but enough distance to not hear any road noise.

  • Melissa and I booked Victoria's place with only a couple of hours notice but this was no problem. The area the property is in is very picturesque and quiet, everything you would expect from a tiny Cotswold village. We arrived to an extremely clean conversion above the garage that was perfect for a couple of nights stay. We had great communication from Victoria before and during our stay with lots of recommendations of what to do in the area. We found that Burford was a fantastic hub to travel by car from with only a short drive to everything. Thank you for a lovely visit to the Cotswolds, we will be spreading the word! Lee and Melissa

  • The studio had everything we needed for a lovely weekend in Windrush. The location is lovely, and although it is set at the back of the house, the studio looks out onto a small field so feels like you are secluded. The studio is decorated beautifully and everything was very clean. We had a great time, thank you Vicky and Mark.

  • A smart and tidy space situated in a picturesque Cotswolds village a short drive from the atmospheric market town of Burford. Vicky was most accommodating, making for easy communication and a very comfortable stay. I appreciated the added gestures, like milk in the fridge and a few snacks for us to pick over. Great value too!

  • Susan was an absolutely lovely host, welcoming and offered me the help I needed with taxi's etc. She was so lovely in being flexible when my timings changed with arrivals and departures, which I greatly appreciated. The room was spotless and facilities were fantastic. The bed was incredible to sleep on and the en suite was perfect too - had the best shower! I couldn't recommend staying here enough, along with a lovely breakfast in the morning too. I will definitely stay here if I visit the area again! Thanks Susan

  • The photos don't do Susan's place justice: the room is huge, bright and spotless, tastefully decorated with a big comfy bed and an ensuite bathroom. Susan and I were like ships that passed in the night so I never met her but she answered all my messages quickly. I stayed for a wedding at Caswell House and it was perfect. Thanks Susan!

  • A idealic place to stay and Rayma was the perfect host. We are looking forward to going back very soon.

    Barbara2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place Rayma shares with you! You have your own attic get away up some steep stairs but Trevor helped me with my bags going up and Rayma helped when I was leaving! The location is fantastic and Burford is a must see town in the Cotswolds! I would happily stay there again!!

    Betty2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay in a charming historic area! Rayma's place was super clean and had great privacy--you have the top floor to yourself! We greatly enjoyed chatting with Rayma and Trevor, a truly lovely couple. Would stay again!

    Jenna-Jo2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The welcome from Rayma was warm and friendly, her house was beautiful in an equally beautiful location. The room was lovely and comfortable, I had a great night sleep, I wish I could've stayed for longer! I would highly recommend this property and would love to come and stay again one day.

  • Great cosy accommodation right in the centre of town, couldn't get a better location room and bathroom was good and Rayma a great host

    Jo2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the BEST stay during our trip in UK! Rayma's house was stunning with a history of 480 years <3 It was so authentic and cozy. Our room was at the top floor, stairs are a bit steep, just need to be more careful if you have big luggage. The room was lovely with our own privacy and own TV. Not to mention the toilet with hotel standard! Location was perfect, charming main street is just down the road and you definitely have to try the restaurant - The Angel. It is a little pricy but totally worth it. If you are driving, you can just park at the road side. Rayma and her husband are very welcoming. Everything is perfect! We will definitely be back again! Highly recommended!

Newly refurbished country cottage with log fire in charming Cotswold village. 3 pubs serving excellent food and real ales all within a 5 minute walk. New kitchenette/living/dining area downstairs. Vaulted bedroom/mezzanine/shower room upstairs.
Oak front door leads into a new kitchenette with hob/oven, fridge and fully equipped kitchen. There is a table with 4 chairs, 2 sofas around the log fire (logs provided) and a TV. Upstairs there is a large bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and a king sized bed and ensuite shower room. Above the bedroom is an open mezzanine level with two single sofa beds, ideal for children. (We do not set a minimum age for use of the mezzanine, access is up a secured ladder and at own risk)
The cottage is on the main road in the centre of this beautiful village, opposite the village green. It's a traditional picturesque Cotswold village with 3 excellent country pubs - The Lamb, The Shaven Crown and The Wychwood. They are all within a 5 minute walk (The Shaven Crown being about 20 seconds!) and serve delicious food and real ales. We are really spoilt for choice here! There is also a shop and post office for every day goods. From the cottage, there are many stunning walks through the countryside. The Oxfordshire Way runs rights through the village. It's ideally located to explore the area with Buford, Chipping Norton, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold all within a 15 minute drive. Cheltenham and Oxford are also easily doable.
  • Susie & Mike were fantastic hosts. The place was exactly as described and the photos in the listing give a good indication of how homely and comfortable their little cottage is. We slept in the very comfortable double bed and had very peaceful nights. Although the cottage is close to the road, it's a quiet village and we didn't really notice much in the way of traffic noise. One morning we had a small plumbing-related issue and messaged them - Mike popped round within minutes and resolved it, leaving us a bottle of wine to 'apologise for the inconvenience' - unnecessary but really appreciated. We used the log burner on the last evening which was wonderful with the big basket of logs provided (complete with detailed instructions for novice users like us). We never had a problem parking across the road next to the village green and we found the place was an excellent base for visiting all of the Cotswolds towns and attractions we planned during our stay. On the first evening, we ate 'next door' at the Shaven Crown and had a very good meal. We also walked the 5 minutes to The Lamb on another evening and had a fantastic meal there too (though take a torch as street lighting is minimal and the path runs out half way to the pub and you need to change to the other side of the road!) All in all, we had a great time staying in the cottage and really appreciated Susie and Mike's totally non-intrusive (but always available if needed) approach. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

    Barry2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great apartment for our needs. We stayed two days and found the area both central and charming. The apartment is small but very clean and well equipped for use by two to three people. We can highly recommend the local pub "The Lamb Inn". Their pies were sensational!

    patrice2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Harry and I had a great time staying in Shipton - perfect location for a weekend cycling escape. Susie met us with the keys as soon as we arrived and then gave us our privacy for the weekend, responding very promptly to texts if we needed anything! Cooking facilities were great, and Susie even had even laid a rug out so we could keep our bikes inside. Thank you for our stay!

    Jessica2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great location, nothing more you could need, will not disappoint

    Rory2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay, would recommend. The cottage is lovely, good size for myself and my girlfriend. It was very clean and warm and we got a lot of use out of the wood burner (which was easy to use). Parking was easy, in the road opposite by the green, we didn't have any issues finding a space. Pubs mentioned are all walkable and we had lovely food at the Wychwood Inn. The village is an easy drive to the Cotswolds wildlife park, Oxford, and any of the nearby market towns are worth visiting. Checking in was easy. We didn't see Susie or Mike but they were available replying to messages quickly: not that we needed them as everything was perfect.

    Will2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't fault the cottage or the hosts. The cottage was so clean and well equipped. The fire (that was accompanied by plenty of logs) was a special touch and the bed was super comfy! Mike (Susie's husband) let us in and told us to make the cottage our home for the weekend - which we did. There are 2 local pubs which were no more than a 4 minute walk away and a local shop for necessities. Not far from other local towns, which we visited, so a good central location. Again, could not fault the cottage and would 100% recommend to a friend

    Amy2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage! Bed is so comfortable :)

    Jo2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fab bolt hole, not far from places like oxford, Cotswold safari park, and within reach of places like moreton/bourton and chipping norton too. Living space was plenty big enough and bedroom a good size too. Lovely wood burner too! Susie and mike were easy to contact and v helpful when needed too. Thanks.

Cotswold escape in an idylic, converted Barn on the edge of the village. With its own entrance and exclusive use of beautiful flower garden. Ideally located for visiting the Cotswolds. There are plenty of beautiful walks on the local footpaths and bridleways right from the door. Chipping Norton is the nearest town, but we are handy for Daylesford farm shop near Kingham, Blenheim palace at Woodstock, Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew and a short walk to the local pub, The Hare in the village.
The Studio is situated on a Cotswold small holding with beautiful views and fabulous walks nearby. The Studio is close to Foxholes Nature reserve , famous for its spring bluebells. The Oxfordshire Way is nearby, which runs from Bourton on the Water to Henley on Thames, about 65 miles. There are many other beautiful footpaths and bridleways throughout the area. There are sheep, geese, ducks, chickens, quail, horses and a dog and a cat on our small holding, it is a very peaceful rural setting.
Heath Barn is on the edge of the Village of Milton-under-Wychwood. A great place from which to explore the Cotswolds. The nearby villages being Shipton-under-Wychwood and Ascot-under-Wychwood. The historic town of Burford is 4 miles to the south and Chipping Norton is 6 miles north. Interesting villages and towns nearby include Charlbury, Kingham, Great Tew, Woodstock and Witney. Further afield Banbury to the north, Oxford to the south and Cheltenham to the west are all approximately 25 miles away.
  • Great value for money and an accommodating host. Beautiful private garden over looking fields and nature. Would recommend this place to all crowds.

  • Sophie and Simon were great hosts, very helpful, welcoming and extremely warm people. They even set up the pizza oven for us whilst we were out. A really picturesque location to get a break from the city. Great for animal lovers, including an extremely friendly Labrador!

  • A beautiful barn in a great location. The garden was stunning and to have our own private outdoor area was very special. Sophie was an incredible hostess. The kitchen was immaculate and well stocked, the barn was in supreme condition and she helped us plan out some great country walks! Would highly recommend. Thank you Sophie.

    Helena2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This little place was absolutely beautiful, and was very well stocked with amenities. The garden was in full bloom and was perfect for sitting with a cup of tea and a paper. It was a ten minute walk from a fantastic pub (The Hare) and was surrounded by picturesque countryside. Sophie was a fantastic hostess and made sure that we were very comfortable, all in all a real treat and excellent value for money!

    Ellie2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication was first class as were the directions. Sophie was there to welcome us and showed us around. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Beautiful private garden with table and chairs with lovely views and with sheep and chickens nearby. Bedroom and bathroom on 1st floor. Very comfortable bed. Kitchen was great, had everything we needed and we cooked on both evenings. Everything spotlessly clean too. My only complaint is that we only stayed for 2 nights. I would have loved to stay for longer. First class.

  • Had a really lovely stay at Anna's flat. It's beautifully decorated and was extremely well equipped - we had everything we could need for a relaxing, cosy weekend away in the Cotswolds. In a really lovely location within walking distance of Burford with lovely shops and pubs and some beautiful walks. Anna went out of her way to make us feel welcome from the very start and was a great host. Could not recommend enough!

  • We had a great stay at Anna's place. The apartment was perfect - beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and really homely. With such a great location - only 10 minutes walk into the centre of Burford - we couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

  • We had a great stay in Burford. The apartment has been recently renovated and is in pristine condition. Tucked away from the road, down a sweeping drive, behind a big Cotswold stone house. Anna was very welcoming and went out her way to make sure everything was ok. We hope to return one day.

  • Anna's coach house was even more stunning that it looks in photos. A really beautiful spacious apartment with everything you could need for a stay in the Cotswolds. We were welcomed by freshly baked bread and eggs from the hens nextdoor to the coach house which was such a lovely touch - and tasted great! The coach house is within easy reach of the centre of burford, only a 10 minute walk away. It is also situated in the perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas such as bourton-on-the-water, minster lovell and Cotswolds wildlife park. We had such a wonderful stay and we would definitely look no further than Anna's coach house with any future Cotswold trips. We will be back! Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Bethan and Charlie.

  • Anna was a gracious host, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean, and also within walking distance of the local town of Burford, with its many shops and places to eat and drink. It was a great place to stay, with the Cotswolds right at your feet. Anna was great at providing recommendations for things to do, and places to go. All in all, a fabulous trip made even better by this wonderful Airbnb apartment!

    Matthew2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place is incredible! It's beautifully decorated, has every amenity you could hope for and the bed is wonderfully comfortable. Anna and her family are lovely - super helpful in both the build up and during the stay. We tried desperately to think of any constructive feedback to help Anna improve her offering and we came up with nothing - this is as close to a perfect Airbnb as is possible. Infinitely more comfortable than a hotel! We'll be back every time we're in the area (though will probably find that she's forever fully booked!)

Burford is possibly one of the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The fine church is a real gem with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits! With little changing over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all with 25 minutes from the property. Places to eat include the world famous Huffkins Tea Rooms, The Bay Tree and Lamb pubs which serve good food, along with the The Angel another good restaurant. There is even a very good curry house!
  • Lovely place. Amazing location.

  • We had a fabulous stay at Swanlings. The location is great with everything you need on your doorstep and the cottage is beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here it won't disappoint!

  • 2 night stay at Swanlings! Great location being a small 2 minute walk from the high street! Well presented, all very clean and to a high standard. Burford is a wonderful place to stay and can highly recommend basing your stay here! Just a short drive to other lovely towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Only points for improvement we would suggest is the bed isn't the most comfortable and the bedroom could also do with a small TV. Overall a lovely stay and highly recommended!

  • Manor Cottages were very professional and provided excellent recommendations for the local area where we were staying. It was a pleasure to discuss my holiday plans with them and to receive such helpful input. The cottage we stayed at, Swanlings, was absolutely lovely, very clean and had all the utensils needed and it is located only a 1 or 2 minute walk away from Burford high street as advertised which meant we got to try a number of the different local pubs which was great! We had such a fantastic time that we have already booked to return in July and I can't wait to return to the cottage!

    Lucy2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a great location for the town and is really well appointed. Everything felt very new and clean and the hosts we're helpful in setting up the sofa bed for us. My father and brother in law had a very comfortable stay!

    Nicola2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was very well located, walking distance from Burford and it's amenities. It's essentially like a little annexe between two houses and is all newly and nicely decorated and furnished. Hosts are communicative and professional. Very easy to get in to the property and no hassle with keys. I'd say this is more of a crash-pad than a place to lounge around in, so good if you are going to be mostly out exploring. It's perfectly well-appointed and equipped with what you need...I agree a bigger bed would be an asset as would some wifi

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds in the Windrush Valley, our guest house is set at the end of the garden and perfect for those wanting a short escape. The guest house is a newly converted, beautiful stone cottage, with an open plan living space, fully stocked kitchen and double or twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There are wonderful walks and cycling right on our doorstep.
The guesthouse is located in a pretty Cotswold village at the end of a short lane with total privacy and parking immediately beside the property.
The Windrush Valley, and the surrounding villages and towns, including Burford, and the villages of Swinbrook, Asthall and Minster Lovell are packed with history and fascinating places to visit. The beautiful rolling countryside and rivers running through it only encourage one to want to walk, cycle and explore the area.
  • Beautiful cottage in the countryside! Perfect for a weekend getaway with great pubs and walks. Sarah was an excellent host and extremely easy to communicate with - I'd highly recommend and would definitely visit again!

  • Beautiful place, beautiful accommodation. The location of this property couldn't have been more perfect. 10-15 minutes drive to all the hotspots, Witney, Burford, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, we did them all in a day but would have loved to have had more time to spend there. Beautiful villages with lots of restaurants, shops. We stayed quite local of an evening and ate in The White Horse, Minster Lovell, on the first night. It's a local pub with a restaurant serving Asian inspired food. Very good quality and value for money. The second night we ate at The Three Horseshoes in Witney. Lovely friendly busy pub with gorgeous food. I would recommend both but there are a whole load more to choose from in Witney which was £15 in a taxi. The property itself is beautiful. Set in a beautiful village where you could hear a pin drop, at the back of a gorgeous country house, it has its own entrance so is nice and private. It has been refurbished to very high standard and is very roomy. Very comfortable bed and had everything we could need along with a fully equipped kitchen. We will definitely be back. Sarah and her husband are very very helpful and will answer all questions, and not forgetting Rudi the dog.

  • Idyllic location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Very comfortable, clean and tidy and excellent value for money! The surrounding towns and villages are all worth a visit - it won't be our last visit to the Cotswolds!

  • This is a beautiful place in a gorgeous little Hamlet. The cottage is tasteful, clean, cosy and just wonderful. Sarah and Nick were perfect hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend this air BnB! Thanks so much

    Abigail2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage and Sarah as a host are wonderful. We enjoyed our time and spend much more time at the cottage as we expected since it was so cosy and we were spoiled by sunny weather. Location is well for the Cotswolds and secluded by fields. Sarah communicated well with us on all stages and was always available during our time at the cottage. It has been a fabulous week and we would recommend the place to everyone!

    Lena2017-05-29T00:00:00Z

  • We had a fantastic stay at the granary at Rose Cottage. So quiet, so peaceful, just what we wanted. The spec of the granary was fantastic, great kitchen, great bathroom, super comfy bed which kept me asleep a lot later than I normally sleep! Peaceful retreat, highly recommended as long as you have a car as you really are out of the way in a good way! Thanks Sarah!

There is also the signature, on the baptismal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. Little changed over the centuries, Burford is popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. Burford is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all with 25 minutes from the property.
  • Lovely little cottage in a perfect location. We had a great stay.

    Abigail2016-12-27T00:00:00Z

Daisy's cottage is within a few minutes drive of Bouton on the Water, The Slaughters Stow on the Wold and Burford. Set in the grounds of Kate and Richard's own home the cottage provides cosy, self contained accommodation, it offers couples the chance to share this wonderful area while enjoying the privacy of their own characterful cottage. Scenic walks and cycle rides from your doorstep, and wonderful country pub just a short walk away.
Whilst retaining the original beams and stonework Daisy's has a light, airy interior; stable door to the front and French doors to the private patio area at the back. The wonderfully equipped kitchen lacks nothing. Everything has been considered to make self-catering a joy. The cosy sitting room has a television video and dvd player. It also has a radio and iPod/iPhone docking station. The bedroom is furnished in antique pine with a comfortable king size bed and has a window opening to the patio. The bathroom has a bath with over head shower, it also has a hand held shower attached to the taps, and a pretty window with views over the gardens of Meadow Barn.
Set in the heart of the Cotswold we have many beautiful villages to visit including the world famous Arts and Crafts garden at Hidcote near Chipping Campden. Chedworth Roman Villa and Cirencester are with in easy reach, and the city of Bath makes a wonderful day visit to name just a few. For those of you that enjoy period drama a visit to Chavenage house where some of Poldark was filmed is a must, at Chavenage you can escape into the peaceful surroundings of a Cotswold manor, virtually unchanged for 400 years. The house is situated near Tetbury which is 31 miles from Daisy's Cottage and open to the pubic from 1st May to 30th September on Thursdays and Sundays from 2-5pm. The charming village of Bampton which is just 14 miles away is where many scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed, St Mary's church renamed St Michael and All Angels in Downton Abbey, has hosted many dramatic events including weddings, funerals, christenings and even a jilting at the alter!
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kate's charming cottage, perfectly located in a peaceful and lovely Cotswold village. Surrounded by her beautiful garden, the cottage was a home from home experience, with everything one would need to be entirely comfortable. Thanks for your warm hospitality Kate, we'll be back. Debora and Keith.

  • Daisy's Cottage is a lovely place and ideal for two people looking for a quite time in the Cotswolds. Kate is a great host who provided unexpected food and extras which were excellent. The cottage is well appointed and very tastefully decorated. The fresh eggs from Kate's own hens were delicious!! We had a really good time and would certainly stay with Kate again in the future when we are visiting the area from Canada.

  • Kate and Richard's place is cozy, quiet and absolutely charming! We were welcomed by Kate and had some lovely chats with her and Richard. She also made sure we felt free to wander the property and ask her questions at any time. Kate provided eggs from her chickens, milk, juice, etc. The cottage also has a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom with tub, cozy living room, really comfortable bed and patio area. We loved our stay at "Daisy's Cottage"!

A perfect Cotswold hideaway in a peaceful village with 14th century pub & church with large garden. Just a few minutes' drive from famous Bourton & Stow, but in a true village. Carefully restored to keep all original features, but modern facilities. Great country gastropub within walking distance. Food shops less than 2 miles away. One of five places I have listed. Over 800 guests a year now stay at my five holiday homes run by me. The average rating of over 250 online reviews is 4.9.
So many Cotswold towns now have lots of tourists. This village is just that, a farming Cotswold village, yet near lots of restaurants, pubs and shops. Every detail of the cottage has been thought through to keep the country "cottage" feel, from a woodburning stove in a stone fireplace to a Rayburn cooker. But there is also a microwave, central heating, and Wifi! The balance in location and design is perfect. NEWSFLASH: Cottage again awarded Gold Rating by English Tourist Board - Dec 2016
Cotswold villages can be full of tourists and tourist buses. We are within 3 miles of the famous Bourton-on-the-Water and 5 miles of Stow-on-the Wold, but ours is a genuine village with just an 18th century village pub, church that dates back 1000 years and a local cricket team! It is very picturesque, but also quiet and surrounded by farms. Lots of walks go literally from the front door, not via a coach park!
  • We were given a contact number for Lorraine who manages the cottage and phoned to obtain the key code and to clarify what was included in the cottage.

    John2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Cottage and the description of how to find it was perfect. We were welcomed with a bottle of olive oil made from his olives on his Italian property. Everything in good working order and linens and towels were of good quality. The garden is larger than you think. Open the little gate and then you get to see the fruit trees. Please make sure you get the the lock box number before you get there as there is no cell service in the village. A nice neighbor helped us. Visit the local church down the road. It has an impressive organ for small village. Great place to stay in the Cotswolds, very comfortable.

    Jennifer2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is extraordinary -- quaint and historic, but with all the modern conveniences (e.g., wifi, wonderfully equipped kitchen); amazingly private, with 2 gardens and views; and a delightful small village that allows you to experience the Cotswolds as a resident rather than a tourist. We loved everything about the cottage and found it extremely spacious with lots of light, four bedrooms, and a lovely, sunny dining area that looks back out on a gorgeous garden and sitting area. The cottage is also well located in the small town (1 block from the church and footpaths) but is also very close (e.g., 3-4 miles) to other, more populated towns like Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water. We hope to stay there again soon. We loved every minute.

    Wendy2014-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very beautiful, very complete facilities, and the description of the landlord, four of us to stay large enough. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) positioning bias, especially when we arrived at night, because the dark can not find the house. Fortunately, the landlord came in time to find me.......

  • Wonderful town house for vacation with well-functioning utilities and equipment. The local agent, Lorraine, is very kind and helpful during our stay. Highly recommended.

    Ryan2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Marks place is handy to many of the Cotswald villages and has a great pub a short walk away. His agent Lorraine was very helpful. The cottage was very clean and warm. There is poor cell phone coverage in the area which caused some problems but there is a landline to use.

    Glenis2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage and village are superb, walking in the area is great and the neighbours were friendly. This is a gem of a rental that for a family get together over Christmas and new year. Our trip from Canada to have Christmas in England with loved ones was excellently served. Arrangements with Mark were clear and easy, super facilities. Highly recommended.

    John2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Marks cottage. There's plenty of room and it was spotlessly clean. The location is fantastic and we paid a visit to the local pub, the Lamb Inn, and it was great. I would defiantly stay here again! Thank you Mark for a great stay!

The Old Bakery is a wonderful old house dating back to Tudor times - elegant and charming. It's comfortable, cosy and romantic with a large master bedroom looking towards Burford church in the distance. A beautiful property in the heart of Burford - the perfect Cotswolds location.
With a history dating back to Tudor times, Burford's Old Bakery really is an old house. Thankfully, however, a rather swish make over in recent times has turned this classic Cotswolds' stone building into a rather gorgeous retreat in the heart of Burford. Records suggest that the famous Banbury Cake recipe made its first appearance from this very building, and given that the current owners are locally renowned bakers, they felt it only right to supply a couple of cakes for guests to enjoy on arrival! Situated (literally) 12 seconds walk from the High Street, the property is a comfortable holiday home, located on the first floor (normal, easy to climb stairs) of a venerable old building. Inside The Old Bakery is elegant, even understated, and charming making it a romantic place to retreat to; the large master bedroom looks towards Burford church in the distance, whilst a swanky bathroom is restful as it is smart. If you're bringing friends or children the second bedroom is a welcome addition.Whether you're planning to park and do nothing except eat out in Burford, or you're going to get out and tour the wonders of the Cotswolds, this little bolt hole is a great choice. Delightful Short Breaks available all year. ACCOMMODATION Entrance at ground level, through to long hallway which leads to the stairs to the first floor and also the garden area to the rear. First Floor Open plan living space. Living Area is light and bright looking towards the street, with sofa and two arm chairs, wall mounted TV, there is a dining table with 2 and 4 chairs. Kitchen is well equipped with electric hob oven and grill, microwave, washing machine/dryer, fridge and separate feezer. Master Bedroom with double bed (4'6in) with hooks for hanging Bathroom with large bath, power shower over, WC and washbasin Bedroom Two* with two single beds, chest of drawers and hooks for hanging. Outside There is an enclosed garden area to the rear, it has a grassed area as well as a small gravel terrace. There is a table and chairs.

  • Great flat just off the main road. Couldn't be more central but in a quiet street. Very comfortable, warm, lovely little garden at the back where you can see the church spire. My cosy little cottage is close to Burford and you will love it for its small crooked doors and walls, low ancient beamed ceilings and because of the beautiful surrounding countryside and great local pubs. It is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). Charlbury station is a 10 minute taxi ride away and a 10 minute walk to Burford High Street.
A little two bedroom (1x King & 2 singles which can be pushed together if you wish) 17th century Cotswold stone cottage in a charming quiet lane with a small kitchen (2 ring hob and microwave with oven/grill function), sitting room with fold out table for meals, bath with shower, easy parking and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ceilings are fairly low so please bear this in mind if you are quite tall. Access to the upper bedroom is via a spiral staircase and there is no door to close, so please consider if mobility is an issue or privacy is important.
The neighbourhood is renowned for its beautiful walks and picturesque villages of which Burford High Street just 1 mile away is one of the best known of the Cotswolds. Within a short drive are some of the finest gourmet pubs and the city of Oxford is just half an hour away. Stratford upon Avon is 50 minutes away and Blenheim Palace is just 25 minutes. An ideal location for a short break from London or as a hub for venturing out into the heart of England.
  • A beautiful and very comfortable cottage, surrounded by attractive stone homes and countryside. The picturesque Cotswold village of Burford is a short drive away. We loved staying here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We look forward to going back again one day very soon! Thank you for our wonderful stay.

  • It was lovely to stay in a traditional Cotswolds cottage, that's been beautifully redecorated. For those travelling with less mobile friends/family, please note the upstairs bedroom is accessed via a narrow spiral staircase & to shower, you need to be able to step into the bath. The cottage is situated in a very quiet location, a short drive from Burford High St - we highly recommend having the Steak & Ale Pie at the Mermaid Inn.

  • Look no further --what an awesome find! Martin and Tania's Fulbrook cottage was a lovely stay. We were thrilled with it. As a party of four (two adults and to teen), this place perfectly me our needs. It was very clean, nicely appointed, had comfortable/firm beds with excellent bedding, and a nice small kitchen. We especially appreciated the walkability of this unit, very much enjoying a picturesque walk to the Swan Inn in Swinbrook. Very good value. Thank you!

The Poplar Patch is a brand new glamping single pitch site tucked into a bend of the River Windrush under a canopy of Poplar trees in the Cotswolds. You get the whole site to yourself and the remote location ensures you are truly at one with the outdoors. When your not listening to the birds or paddling in the river there are lovely walks, cycling routes and idyllic towns and villages all around to explore. We love camping out on the river bank and want you to experience the same joy we do.
We will be back next summer! Pitched on the site is a 5m bell tent which provides ample room for the family or a luxurious space for a couples retreat. With a proper double bed, coir carpet, real furniture and your own private facilities we hope to give you a truly special experience. If the kids are coming just bring a sleeping bag and we will provide airbeds to ensure a comfortable nights sleep and room in your bags for more important things. Comfy double bed, cutely decorated, nice hot shower, log fire with tripod cooker that made meals a bit of an adventure in a good way, great extra tarpaulin cover to provide a little shelter from the sunshine or rain, beautiful view of the sunset over a field of sheep and finally great walks nearby to local pubs. Charlotte is a helpful and friendly host

The river running around the patch was really fun to play stick races and watch the little ducklings and Simon the swan go about their business(yes I gave him a name). The tripod barbecue was amazing to cook on and the tent was really well decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and Charlotte had even put in some rugs, games and a Solar radio to keep us entertained. The bathroom, kitchen and shower are all quite basic but everything you need and more for a camping holiday. Robert's brother also owns a smokehouse which I would definitely recommend going to which has plenty of great BBQ food and a great little shop with all the veg and cheeses and smoked meats from the local farms. They also had a pretty good wine selection which was great. Charlotte and her dad Robert are amazing hosts and made sure we had everything we needed and were well looked after without being too intrusive. I would definitely recommend the Poplar patch to anyone looking for a little retreat which is close to great walks, great food and some really good pubs. Thank you to the both of you for an amazing break and we hope to be back soon!!

  • Camping at Little Barrington Holidays was great. We only had two days as a short notice, spontaneous trip but it was lovely. Being in your own secluded area was exactly what we were looking for. The facilities were better than we expected and the shower out doors with those views is a really nice touch. All the information provided was accurate and the extra information with regards to what was happening close by was really appreciated.

  • What a perfect location to escape life's stresses and unwind in the beautiful English countryside. My husband and I just loved falling asleep to the quiet sounds of the river! We could stand up in the bell tent which was very cozy and decorated well. It was an added bonus to have a hot shower in the morning, and we enjoyed cooking on the fire. Definitely bring a swimming costume - the river water is cold but very refreshing! For an off-grid stay in nature in a stunning location, it doesn't get much better than this.

    Jane2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Secluded, pretty and lots of stars at night - a great break from it all but close enough to nice pubs to enjoy some good food too. One of the comfiest beds ever!

    Laura2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, 4 year old daughter and I have returned from a lovely 3 night stay at Poplar Patch. I wasn't sure how I'd manage 'off grid' but it was fantastic. Comfortable bed, well equipped facilities. Barbecue on the fire, star gazing at night, hot shower overlooking a field to ourselves. I'd recommend visiting bourton on the water for a nice day out. Can't wait to go back again next summer. We created great memories here.

    Marie2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful quiet and secluded break we had. A private, beautiful spot with no one else around apart from a swan and sheep. Absolute bliss. Would love to visit again. Thanks Charlotte for being a fabulous host and also for your clear directions and communication. We'd love to visit this patch of (Polar) paradise again.

An outstanding cottage in one of the Cotswolds' most attractive villages. 1 minutes walk to the pub, 3 mins drive to Burford! Heavenly. Beautifully furnished, a truly gorgeous country bolt hole.
The cottage is part of an historic building within the beautiful and yet untouched village of Swinbrook. There are many stunning, 'classic Cotswolds' buildings to see and enjoy and this cottage sits next to one of the most important - once the village's monastic home to the local monks when it was first built in the 1520's. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a very high standard and is a great bolt hole for a weekend break or even better as a base for touring some of the Cotswolds' most attractive and popular locations. Burford, for example is no more than 5 mins away in the car or about an hour's walk. There is a high quality kitchen, a luxury bathroom and some delightful touches throughout to make this an attractive and great choice. Located in the heart of the quiet village of Swinbrook (also famous for its links with the infamous Mitford family), Lavender's Cottage is the achetypal rural bolt hole, oozing a classic Cotswolds' charm, surrounded by beautiful countryside - every inch the perfect choice for a getaway. A hotel finish in a traditional cottage! The village is heavenly, typically Cotswolds with pretty cottages of warm-toned stone, an award winning pub (The Swan), and a history that stretches hundreds of years back. The place has a sense of timelessness and yet in a location that is easy to get to. Set in the grounds of a stunning old monastic building, the cottage is furnished with a real eye for detail and style - super king size bed, power shower and top of the range kitchen to name a few. If, instead you fancy 'doing nothing' then you can saunter to the pub in about a 2 mins walk, where excellent food is served throughout the day, and thereafter you can walk for miles, along the lanes, along the River Windrush or wherever (there are miles of paths nearby) to enjoy a corner of the Cotswolds and England where time has stood literally still. An outstanding choice. ACCOMMODATION Entrance through to open plan living space beautifully presented with attractive furniture where glass doors let the light flood in. There is a sofa and armchair, large flatscreen TV, plus ample games to keep you busy! There's an electric flame-effect fire for a cosy appeal plus ample storage space for coats, boots etc. Kitchen / Dining Area is super cool and incredibly well equipped - a cook's heaven; granite work surfaces complete the look! Electric hob, double oven and grill, large fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer. Cloakroom WC and washbasin Upstairs There is a good sized Bedroom with super-king sized double bed (which can be separated into two singles if preferred) chest of drawers and hanging space. Ensuite Bathroom with bath, shower over, WC and washbasin. Outside There is some private space to the front of the property with a table and chairs, private and enclosed by a beech hedge. There is private parking to the side of the property. The property looks towards the owner's gardens and beyond are fields and open countryside - plus a lake! Children / Baby welcome. Cot & High Chair Available. Wifi available and included. Sorry No Pets. Heating & Elec included.
Swinbrook is very much the quintessential Cotswold village: very pretty, very traditional and classic in terms of a Cotswolds location. It has a long history, but is perhaps best known for its links with the Mitford sisters in the mid 20th Century. Above all it has remained almost completely untouched over the years. The village sits on the River Windrush and is about a 30 minute walk from the historic Cotswold town of Burford regarded by Forbes magazine as the 5th Best Place to Live in the world!!! There are a plethoral of attractive buildings throughout the village and if you do decide to walk along the lanes you will understand why so many people fall in love with it. Swinbrook is perhaps best known for its association with the Mitford sisters who lived here in the 1930's and beyond. Today the village has an excellent pub called The Swan which sits on the Windrush and serves high quality food - in mid 2015 David Cameron hosted the French President Hollande for a traditional pub lunch here!! As if to complete the classic Cotswolds village scene there is a cricket pitch across the river too! There are countless attractions within easy reach, including a host of National Trust Houses and Gardens (Kelmscote Manor and Hidcote Manor Gardens for example). Oxford is no more than 20 mins in the car, while Cheltenham, Bath and Stratford upon Avon are easily accessible. A very, very good location and choice for your holiday!
  • Very quiet and rather picturesque

    Richard2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully renovated and kept to a very high standard. Situated in a gorgeous location, it was a perfect home for our long weekend away from city life. It felt lovely and private but not too remote. We didn't want for anything because it's so well kitted out with mod-cons. Our only regret was that we had to leave. Would love to return. Highly recommended!

    Niall2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is simply beautiful- decorated to a really high standard and very quiet- which is just what we wanted from our weekend getaway. It is in a lovely village which has a number of great walks, including ones to the more touristy village of Burford. Arrival was easy and the host was attentive during the stay. The host was also thoughtful, leaving essentials out for us (milk, tea, coffee and cake!). I would definitely recommend this cottage to others and cannot wait to return myself.

    Poppy2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little get-a-way spot. Cozy, clean, nicely furnished with everything one needs. Grounds are beautiful and the hosts are welcoming and wonderful. It's a short walk to the famous Swan Inn and Pub and a short jaunt to Burford.

  • Jilly and Lawrence were exceptional hosts. They have thought of all the creature comforts and more to make our stay a 'home away from home'. Its all those little extras that made our stay here stand out from the crowd. We would certainly recommend a stay here, very quaint, very English and very private. Thanks so much Jilly and Lawrence, you helped to turn our holiday around after a very few stressful days prior..... J & M Pittsworth, Australia

  • My boyfriend and I, stayed at Jilly's place over the Easter Weekend. We had the most wonderful time, the location is perfectly situated minutes from Burford village. Also, in the heart of great walks, pubs and local shops. Jilly is a fantastic host, the room is beautifully decorated and has amenities which go above and beyond. I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Burford or the surrounding area. We would come again. Thanks so much Jilly - we loved meeting you, Lawrence and the local ginger cat. • If you are ever visiting Burford, this is the place to stay! Me and my mom were very much satisfied with our stay at Jilly's place. The room is lovely, extra clean and every detail has been thought of. Jilly and her husband were extremely hospitable and lovely people. I hope to go back one day!

    Idil2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a LOVELY time we had in the Cotswolds - equally matched with a perfectly lovely BnB! Jilly & her husband were wonderful hosts. The room was delightful. Great private entry, very clean & welcoming. Jilly had all the amenities you could think you need (in case you forget your own) and the bed was so comfortable - we looked forward to our "afternoon nap" everyday! Great location to the main drag in Burford... Easy walk or 2 minute drive if it's too cold. (Eat at "The Mermaid" for dinner, ask for Lucy!) The breakfast provided in room was just right. Fresh fruit, cereals, tea & coffee. There was always refrigerated bottles of water you can take with you for the day as well. Jilly has great info to make your Cotswolds touring plans easy & informative! Great stay and when we are back in the area - this will be our pick. :) P.S. - the blind ginger kitty in the area, "Stofi", was the perfect addition to our trip! Be sure to snap a pic of him in the garden. :)

    Emily2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Jilly's en suite room was a real treat. Breakfast was in the room, fruit and fresh muesli and milk in the fridge and anything else you could imagine. The pub just down the road had the best hamburger I have had in a long time. The garden was full of flowers, everything was beautiful. Many thanks to you both.

  • The apartment was fully equipped for every need and clean and very pretty. Lovely tea and coffee facilities with granola, fresh fruits and yogurts for breakfast. I loved all the guides and local history books in the apartment to help plan your stay. Thanks again Jilly and Lawrence

Ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds, The West Wing of Fox House is immaculate, luxurious and self contained. An ideal base for eating out, shopping, Cotswold villages, walking and cycling, in a tiny village overlooking rolling farmland. Please note when enquiring or booking that the correct number of guests must be entered in order to arrive at the price for your stay. Fox House is not accessible by public transport so a car is strongly recommended.
The West Wing has a stunning double height open plan kitchen and sitting room with views of fields and woods and a south facing garden room that gives access to a terrace with space for outdoor dining. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with en suite shower room and also a guest loo. Bed linen is 100% cotton and professionally laundered. On the first floor a twin room, a double and a bath/shower room. The kitchen are has an electric oven with hob and grill, dishwasher, fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. The sitting area has a wall mounted smart TV. Guests have access to wifi.
Visitors usually comment on the peace at Fox House as the nearest main road is two miles away, and Holwell is reached by single track road. The peace is only interrupted by the occasional tractor. The view opens out over rolling woods and fields, and the house looks out over a village pond and the pretty church beyond.
  • We enjoyed a lovely Easter weekend here! Beautiful surroundings and great home from home! The host was on hand for any queries and provided everything we needed. Would recommend staying here!

  • Susan's house is located in a gorgeous little hamlet near Burford, one of our favourite parts of the world. We came away for a break and had 4 days of quiet rest, with plenty of room for the children to run around in Susan's lovely walled garden. The boys also fell in love with her dog! The house was perfect for our needs; a good space to cook in and hang out, and great bedrooms and bathrooms. Susan was super helpful with everything we asked for, and recommended an amazing restaurant that we hadn't been to before. A fab place to spend a few days exploring or doing nothing, and near enough to London to not feel like a crazy trek. Thank-you, Susan!

The Cotswold Wash House combines antique furniture with modern interior design. The compact cottage nestles in the slopes of the Windrush Valley on the edge of the village. Great Rissington has a manor, church and inn; all the charm of a bygone age.
This is a fully converted Wash House that once served a three hundred year old house. It's made of honeyed Cotswold stone and is set in the heart of our tranquil village. Made for two!
This is the Golden Mile of the Cotswolds. There are country walks, river banks and villages of honeyed stone.

Chris was a great host, providing us with lots of material on the Cotswolds including some local walks that were really useful in making the most of our stay. The village itself is beautiful and typical of the Cotswolds with a great pub a minutes walk away. The accommodation is very comfortable, has everything needed and is finished to a very high standard, all in all a really great place to stay in and would love to do so again.

Come and stay at my brand new self build... Enjoy contemporary light filled architecture, where mother nature provides sweeping views of rolling hills and fields. The scenery and living space will soothe you. Its walking distance to the historic market town of Burford, but forget dark little cottages, instead relax in this warm, high specification, rural retreat.
All guests have full use of the kitchen. This includes a kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge freezer and electric double oven with induction hobs. All cooking utensils, saucepans and frying pans, tea towels, cups, glasses, salt, pepper and spices are included. There is tea, milk and instant coffee provided. Help yourself to anything you need or might have forgotten from the fridge or cupboards, vegetables included, but guests will need to bring their own food for catering. Towels and full bedding provided. Longer stays can make use of the washing machine and tumble dryer (and detergent) provided. The guest bedroom has blinds (not shown in the current photo.) Note: this house has a metal roof which expands and contracts with temperature changes, this means it sometimes creaks and makes cracking noises. This might surprise a very light sleeper but it is part of a the nature of the architecture and cannot be avoided. However it is a incredibly peaceful and quiet place to be with no neighbour issues or traffic noise. Note it is a very warm house as it is highly insulated and heated by underfloor heating, it comfortably holds 21 degrees C. Please do not think it will be cold because the roof is metal. The house is also very light and open in feel, it does not have curtains in the main living space because it is surrounded by farmland and views on both sides which are there to be appreciated. There are however curtains in the bathroom and blinds in the guest bedroom.
  • We had a great stay at Tim's! The location is stunning- perfect for a tranquil weekend away. The house is great- kitchen has everything you could need, all very clean and the design of the design of it is a nice change from a B&B. Location wise there are a few good walks in the surrounding area, there's one pub 5 mins away and Burford is a 15 minute walk with plenty of food and drink options. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend!

We were made to feel welcome by Tim and he thoughtful drained the pond knowing we had a toddler with us. The level flooring and outside space was fun for play and exploring for our daughter. The views and sunsets were amazing. It was peaceful and relaxing. We would love to return in the future. Thank you for a great break away!

  • The Cowshed is an amazing place for a relaxing break. The location was brilliant as it is secluded enough to enjoy the view, peace and quiet, but also walking distance to Burford so easy access to pubs, restaurants and shops. The Cowshed was beautiful and had everything you need. Tim was also really great at giving us tips for the weekend, where to go, what to do. He was really quick to reply to messages and was really welcoming. The place is really warm, and has great heating even if it does get a little cold. The kitchen was kitted out with everything you need, and we cooked a lot so that was really helpful! I would definitely book again. Perfect for a couples retreat.

  • We were the first guests and this is a great place! Really cool self build barn that you could imagine on one of Kevin McCloud's programmes. We didn't meet Tim as he was away but he was very a helpful host in the booking process. The barn was clean, light, comfortable, warm and cosy, and the interior is contemporary and in keeping with the design. It has been designed really well and it was a pleasure to stay here. The almost 360degree vista of the field was spectacular. Great location. Burford is in walking distance and this is the cotswolds so great pubs are all around (bring an ordnance map and wellies!). A one off! Thank you Tim.

Welcome to Chapel Loft, our beautiful space which we have created for you above our workshop. The studio has a separate entrance and kitchenette with toaster, kettle and fridge with cutlery and crockery. We provide a fresh continental breakfast for you and there are plenty of places to eat locally with a chinese at the other end of the village and several gastropubs within a 3 mile radius. There are also a wide range of places to eat in Witney (5 miles) and Burford (4 miles).
The Loft has a lovely sunny aspect, benefiting from sun at all times of the day through the skylights and end porthole. Each window has blackout blinds fitted so that you can enjoy and long lie in. The wet room has been fitted to a high standard but as it is fairly compact, the door is a shower curtain. This is opaque and offers privacy but if you are looking for a locking door on the bathroom then this is not the space for you. Towels and bedding is provided and I have opted for high quality egyptian cotton to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Parking is available on the street outside for cars (it is a quiet road). We can offer off street parking for motorcycles and secure storage for push bikes. Please let us know if you require this.
Leafield is a lovely village in the Cotswolds, a short distance from Burford and Witney. We are but 30 metres from the Village Shop which offers freshly ground coffee and hot snacks (pasties/sausage rolls in the week and croissants and pain au chocolat on the weekends). They also have a little cafe if you fancy a piece of cake. Next to the shop is the The Fox pub, a small, cosy village pub with a range of ales and food. At the other end of the village (1/2 mile) we have a Chinese restaurant which also offers take away.
  • Fanstastic use of space, well thought out and beautifully decorated. Close to lots of lovely places to explore. Would definitely stay again.

  • Beautifully furnished room, very comfortable, a good size and private. Well-catered for, tea/coffee facilities and mini-fridge. Village within easy reach of Cotswolds attractions.

  • Really lovely place, Kate has pretty much thought of everything to make your stay as great as possible. Couldn't fault our visit. Thanks for your fab hospitality.

    Hannah2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is a lovely little loft space, not attached to the main house. Kate provided a great deal of information of things to do in the area and the manual in the accommodation was extensive. The loft is not very far from a lot of attractions in the Cotswolds, we had a car so cannot comment on the public transport. The breakfast the next morning made things very easy as we didn't have to go to the shops before checking out. We only stayed one night. Taxis around the area are expensive but that is to be expected in the Cotswolds.

  • Amazing host and incredibly helpful!

    Aiden2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The loft is finished to a high standard and is situated in a lovely area. We had a good nights sleep and the continental breakfast provided was a nice bonus!

    Joseph2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kate is a wonderful host and we highly recommend staying in the loft for anyone who wants a relaxing break in a peaceful part of the Cotswolds (but with lovely restaurants and places of interest a short drive away). The room was perfect and Kate went the extra mile providing food and drinks for breakfast. We loved our stay, thank you very much

  • The Chapel Loft is a beautiful place to stay. In a lovely secluded village in a gorgeous part of England. Kate was great at responding quickly to questions and very helpful. A lovely breakfast provided! The wet room adds it's own little quirk to the place. The Pearl (Chinese restaurant and bar) at the other end of the village but walking distance did good food with good service. We had a really lovely getaway for the night in a good location to then go walking in the Cotswolds the next day! Thank you so much Kate!

Stunning period home in the heart of Burford. Historic too, as it is believed to be the oldest building in Burford. Recently undergone refresh and is now a beautiful holiday home in for 6 people. Moments from cafes, pubs and shops. Lovely!
Bull Cottage is a favourite of ours! Set in the heart of Burford, down a little one way street it is complete gem. Believed to be one of the oldest houses in Burford and dating back to circa 1390's, it is a cottage which both looks and feels every inch the classic Cotswolds cottage. Inside the house is presented to a very high standard, furnished beautifully, with spacious rooms across two floors, two bathrooms and a courtyard garden to the rear. With Burford's High Street about 30 seconds away by foot, this is an exceptionally located holiday cottage!! The Accommodation Nitty Gritty: Entrance through to reception / dining area / room. Living Room, spacious yet cosy with woodburning stove, large sofa, armchairs, large flatscreen TV. Dining / Living Room with large sofa, armchair, woodburning stove; dining table with six chairs. Kitchen, flagstone floor, oak worksurface, ample preparation space with electric hob, oven and grill, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There is an occasional table with four chairs. Bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin. There is a beautiful (and huge!) oak door to the courtyard garden. Upstairs Wonky floors and beautiful beams give this floor a truly gorgeous feel - we loved it! Master Bedroom, large and spacious with a King size double bed (5ft), wardrobe, chest of drawers and many period features. Stunning. Bedroom Two, spacious and light with double bed / zip and link single beds - you choose -, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bathroom, again spacious! Bath, power shower over, WC and washbasin. Bedroom Three with two single beds, chest of drawers and hanging space. Outside The cottage has a courtyard garden to the rear with bench, table and chairs. It is south facing and very much a sun trap! Children Welcome. Cot & High Chair available. Sorry No Pets. On street parking (no restrictions). Heating & Electricity incl. Wifi included. Security Deposit Required
Burford is possibly one of, if not THE most famous of the Cotswolds' locations.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bull Cottage. The home was beautiful and immaculate, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone considering the Buford area. As a family with four children, it was great to find a 6-person accommodation with 4 twin beds and a king (instead of the 3 queens). Arriving late at night, it was a nice touch to be welcomed with cake and milk. The pros: 1. A 600+ year old building with all the character you could imagine along with all of the modern conveniences you would want. Interior doorways and nooks in walls have stone arches that one would normally see in a church (there are rumors that stonemasons who built the local church were housed in this cottage and practiced their craft on this house). 2. Plenty of places to congregate (large den with TV, living room, dining table, and breakfast table). 3. The furnishings are a nice mix of antique pieces and newly upholstered chairs and couches. 4. Kitchen has new appliances and is well stocked. 5. All three bedrooms were large with plenty of space to stretch out. 6. Two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower/tub. 7. While it's literally 30 seconds from Burford's high street, the cottage is very quite. We never heard any noise from the crowds on high street nor even from the pub next door. 8. The Co-op market is a one minute walk away, and it stays open until 11pm. 9. Plenty of lovely shops (antique, clothing, etc.) as well as restaurants within a few minutes walk. 10. Some nice Cotswolds walks through the countryside start right from the front door. The con (which was minor and wouldn't cause us to hesitate staying at Bull Cottage again): - lack of adjacent parking. The closest parking space is 100 feet away but it's more likely that you'll have to park (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) feet away on the high street or a side street. It wasn't an issue for us, but it's something to consider if you have mobility restrictions. There is no problem stopping at the door to unload. By 7pm the high street clears out so overnight parking is (URL HIDDEN) just daytime parking that's a bit tight.

  • Great property; spacious and quaint. Location also perfect. In the centre of Burford (and so useful for shops and places to eat), yet quiet and a good base for long country walks.

  • A really lovely character cottage in the heart of Burford. We were there in December and it was cosy, great central heating and we loved being able to pop up the road to buy some logs and use the wood burning stoves. Handy for all the local shops and restaurants and many pubs and we did not find parking an issue on Whitney Street, there was always one available no matter time of day. We would recommend Bull Cottage, the owners have maintained it beautifully and it is well managed and well equipped.

    Ali2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Bull Cottage was a fabulous experience. It was amazing to stay in a home that held so much history! It was beautiful, charming and clean. I appreciated the modern facilities alongside the ancient architecture. I would absolutely come again.

  • We had such a great visit, Bull Cottage was perfect for us! Amazing location right in the village of Burford, central for exploring the cotswolds and very charming!

My place is close to quaint Cotswold towns and villages, historic Oxford and beautiful open countryside. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, the cosiness and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
  • Great apartment, lovely little touches made it totally stress free and relaxing. Scrupulously clean, great space, comfy bed, amazing shower and beautifully equipped kitchen. Everything was superb. Thank you!

  • My partner and I had a lovely 2 night stay while we were attending a wedding. Although getting a taxi was difficult and expensive, the apartment was beautifully decorated and everything we needed was there so we were comfortable straight away! Shirley and Andrew were both very accommodating and gave us a very warm welcome as well as helping us to decide on places to eat etc. Would highly recommend a stay! :)

    Jess2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Andrew and Shirley for a wonderful stay! The apartment was lovely and a brilliant base for our weekend.

    Rachael2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Shirley have a lovely place. It's done to a very high standard, the bed is really comfortable and they provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. They were very welcoming hosts and the communication before arriving was spot on, helping us find the place very easily. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone spending a weekend in the Cotswolds, as it is ideally situated for Bourton, Chipping Campden and Chipping Norton.

    Kyras2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean apartment with all the essentials, exactly as described/pictured. Great communication with helpful directions prior to arrival.

    Maxwell2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had to cut our trip short due to a change of plans unfortunately; however we thought we would write a review of our experience and impressions, which were very positive. We were met with a very warm and lovely welcome by Andrew and his wife - they were extremely thoughtful and had provided us with fruit, eggs and milk as part of our welcome! The accommodation was perfect - impeccably clean and tidy, essentially brand new, with everything one would require for a short stay. In addition it would also be suitable as a base for a number of days to cover excursions to the various points of interest in the surrounding areas. The flat is on an extremely quiet road; there is safe parking available, and access is through a private entryway. Our hosts were extremely thoughtful and professional; a welcome pack with any relevant information is in the flat, and we were also provided with a spare set of keys. All the living areas were in outstanding condition - the bathroom spotless, the bed comfortable. All in all, we would recommend this flat for anyone needing lovely, quiet, safe accommodation in the area.

  • Shirley and Andrew were amazing hosts. Extremely accommodating, bringing forward the check in time for us as we had to get to a wedding in Burford for 1pm. We also had real trouble arranging a taxi however Andrew kindly agreed to take us to the church in Burford. He refused to take any money from us for this and instead suggested we donate the money to the church which we did :-) The apartment itself was beautiful and perfectly sized for a couple. It has a private entrance which was ideal for us. The bed was really comfy and the en suite was really modern and clean. There was milk, bread, eggs ready for us as well as a large jug of ice cold water which was much needed in the 30 degree heat!!! Thanks for having us :-)

Maisey Cottage is a charming 200 year old, Grade II listed Cotswold cottage. It is in the delightful small West Oxfordshire village of Kencot, near Burford. It has a homely sitting room with a wood burner and original flagstone floor. A contemporary kitchen/dining area was added in 2016 . Upstairs there are exposed beams, two double bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a small sitting area. Blenheim Palace, Oxford, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Bibury and the River Thames are in easy reach.
This cottage is ideal for one or two couples. From the entrance hall you enter a central hall area which has a map on the wall of the local area. The original sitting room has a flagstone floor and a wood burning stove which is very efficient - the room becomes very cosy very quickly. There are two sofas , a table to work at, a TV, radio, CD player, a range of books and a selection of puzzles and board games. The cottage was completely rewired in 2016 and has modern, efficient, programmable electric heaters as well as underfloor heating in the new kitchen/dining room and both bathrooms. The kitchen/dining room has a single story glass roof over the kitchen part bringing in lots of light. The other end of the room has bi-folding doors which open out onto a small area where the old well, full of clear water, has been made into a feature, with a glass top and internal lights. There is also a glass roof over this area so in the summer, when the doors are open, the kitchen/dining area is a much bigger space making it a delightful place to eat and sit. The kitchen has an induction hob, double oven, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge, toaster, kettle and a good selection of pans and cooking equipment. The upstairs is reached by an old wooden staircase which has a door at the bottom. It opens out onto a landing area which can be used as a mini sitting/study room looking onto the fields in front of the cottage. Its a great spot for a quiet read. The upstairs bathroom is new and has a double ended bath, shower over the bath, WC, basin and shaver socket. The views over the fields from the main bedroom as the sun rises are lovely. This bedroom is very spacious with interesting exposed beams to the apex showing the A frame construction of the cottage. It has a king sized bed, two chests of drawers and a small wardrobe. The second bedroom has a double bed and a chest of drawers and sunset views. There is a secluded courtyard garden with a table and 4 chairs so you can eat outside if the weather is good. A beautiful and unusual acacia tree next door overhangs the garden. The garden has a herb area as well as roses and other flowers. Opposite the cottage is the village playing field with swings etc and a footpath which will take you over the fields.
The area has numerous attractions, including William Morris's house in nearby Kelmscott, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Arlington Row, (featured in British passports) at Bibury and the medieval town of Burford on the River Windrush. It is wonderful for cycling - you can go for miles along the quiet country lanes without having to go on busy roads. There are many local footpaths over the fields and the Thames Path is easily accessible. The River Thames is very close and a lovely summer afternoon can be spent watching the boats on the river. The nearby village of Filkins has an interesting Woollen Mill, shop and tearoom as well as an open air swimming pool and a tiny museum. There are many excellent pubs serving good food in the area. Swinbrook, on the river Windrush near Burford was home to the famous Mitford sisters. The Swan at Swinbrook has interesting photographs of the family on the walls and serves excellent food. Oxford, with its many colleges, museums, theatres, punts, botanic garden and other attractions is about 20 miles way and Blenheim Palace where Sir Winston Churchhill was born is also within easy reach. The Palace often has events in the grounds and has a butterfly house. You can get a ticket for just the grounds which are extensive and were designed by Capability Brown. The famous Cotwsold village of Bourton-on-the Water with its Model Village, Birdland and pretty high-street is not far away. There are several National Trust properties in Oxfordshire, the closest being Buscot Park, Lodge Park and Chedworth Roman Villa. In the summer months many villages in the area open their gardens for the National Gardens Scheme. Kencot opens its gardens on Easter Monday each year. This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, seeing the local gardens and having tea and cakes in the village hall, all for a very modest price. If you enjoy visiting old churches there are plenty to choose from and many are open in daylight hours. The Ridgeway long distance path and the very famous ancient White Horse, cut into the chalk hillside at Uffington are also easy to get to. If you like aeroplanes the Fairford air show in July is just a few miles away. You will also see some interesting planes flying out of nearby RAF Brize Norton. These are troop transport planes, such as the Hercules, but when the air show is on the Red Arrows often fly over. The planes can be noisy at times but the noise is only short lived as the planes fly over. In summary- there is plenty to do and see but you will be away from the tourist hots spots.
  • Mandy gave us a very warm welcome and provided lots of recommendations both locally and a drive away for things for us to do over the weekend.

  • Couldn't have asked for anything more, exceeded expectations. The covered area by the well was great for the warm but damp day we had when there, it still felt like sitting and enjoying the outside and fresh air. Check in/Check out was great, and we got some tips and recommendations for the weekend. The only regret is we had but two nights to enjoy it all

  • Mandy was very helpful and welcoming when we arrived. The house is in a lovely village and is a very nice place to stay. We especially liked the well, the cosy bedrooms and the sweet garden. The kitchen is very light and airy and we enjoyed watching the horses trotting by in the lane at the front.

    Camilla2017-07-02T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely village. Excellent base for walks with a wonderful selection of cozy pubs with really good food. Mandy provides a comprehensive array of information and suggestions for the area. This is so handy and saves a lot of time trying to sort where to go. The cottage is comfortable and has a very well stocked kitchen. A traditional stone cottage with exposed stone walls. Flexible ground floor accommodation provides 2 bedrooms and bathroom plus a sofa bed and cot. Under floor heating, timber floors and fully equipped kitchen / diner. Surrounded by open countryside.
You are viewing the Granary- see below. Our cottages and suites form part of a collection of converted and historic farm buildings dating back to the 1790s and located in a Conservation Target Area, along the Shill Brook Valley. We have 2 cottages- the Stables is a 3 bed cottage with an optional en-suite 4th bedroom by opening up access to the Hayloft (see below) via the staircase area, which can be locked off or interconnecting. The Granary is a 2 bed cottage. Both cottages have open plan kitchen/ lounge and dining areas. Bedding & towels are included & the kitchens are fully equipped. We also have 2 one bed suites, with kitchenettes- the Saddlery is a double has a lounge area and a wet room and is wheelchair friendly and the king sized Hayloft has a shower room and small sofa and TV area in the kitchenette. There is an optional twin with the Saddlery, but also the Saddlery and Hayloft can be locked off or interconnected via a staircase. There is a cot and high chair in each cottage and a travel cot available for the suites on request. All units have access to our games room (with fitness equipment, table tennis, darts and pool) and we have parking for 7 cars, but we can provide over-spill parking if needed. We can sleep 14 as standard in the 7 bedrooms in the 2 cottages and 2 suites, plus 2 in the extra twin if needed, bringing the total to 16 in beds. In total there are 5 sofa beds- 2 in the Stables and 1 in each of the Granary, Saddlery & Hayloft. Therefore, we can sleep up to 21 with all units, the extra twin and all sofa beds in use. We have tried to be as flexible as possible in terms of the party size we can accommodate and in providing a space where extended families or friends can get together, but enjoy some separation. At the same time, we can accommodate a number of separate groups. If you need any extra space in addition to what you have booked, just let us know.
Although we live in the middle of open fields with horses, we are 5 minutes by car from shops, supermarkets and places to eat. We are close to Burford, Bampton and Bibury and 5 minutes from the fabulous Cotswold Wildlife Park.
  • We had a great stay at the granary, excellent communication prior to arriving and lots of information provided about the local area. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Lovely and peaceful setting but close to lots of places around the Cotswolds. The games room was also a big bonus! Thank you so much, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Cotswolds!

  • Lovely little cottage perfect for a couple of nights away with friends. The granary has a twin and double room situated at either end of the cottage with kitchen diner living room and bathroom in between. Check in /check out was hassle free via a key box. Temperature controls in each room making stay comfortable for all guests. Fully equipped cottage with everything you need. Communication with owners was quick and consistent. Quiet area off the main road. Only thing to bear in mind is this is one of a few cottages and we were woken up both nights by the guests above. Pack some earplugs if you are a light sleeper like me. Not the owners fault and we otherwise had a lovely stay. Thank you and would stay again.

  • Can't recommend the Granary highly enough for a weekend or week away. Hosts were great communicators and incredibly helpful and thoughtful. The accommodation is very comfortable indeed and there are loads of lovely touches that made our stay very easy and relaxed. The games room is great and the garden is perfect for letting young children run around. The location is ideal too. Will definitely be back again.

  • Andrew the owner was there to help us find the right cottage as there is a few to choose from, he was very hospitable and we shared a few jokes. Initially we were a bit upset.. upset because we had all day plans and would not be spending as much time there as we would have liked. The decorations are great and we loved the set of drawers, the bed is really comfortable and the black out blinds meant I had the deepest sleep I have had in a long time . And all very affordable, we are discussing when we will be coming back again. Thank you from Billy and Sophia

  • Everything was alright, all new and clean and a really beautiful cottage. Bear in mind that the cottage is well equipped with all the utensils you may need in the kitchen, however, it does not have any of the little things you will usually find in other airbnbs: shower gel, teas and coffee and jams etc...Also, being a loft, be careful when you walk towards the bathroom, as the wall with the windows on is a bit low. Not a big issue though... And there is a game room which is great!

  • The Hayloft was perfect for our needs during our recent visit to the UK, as a base for visiting my family in Oxford with our four month old. Before we arrived Andrew and his family sent a very comprehensive message with clear instructions on how to find and access the property, ideas on things to do and places to go and information on the property and facilities. They went above and beyond for our baby, asking if the travel cot which they had was good enough and buying a new one which was more suitable when I told them the baby was a bit young for the one they had. The property is beautiful, with gardens and places to walk (great with a baby), horses in the neighbouring fields, plenty of parking and good facilities, and is nice and private. It is very well kept, clean and everything works. The games room/gym is well equipped and in good condition. Outside of rush hour Oxford is only thirty or forty minutes away, and Carterton has all of the basics - supermarkets, takeaways etc. Being close to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Burford is a bonus for families. A contractor caused a power cut during our visit - Andrew and family ensured that repairs were made quickly and kept us informed of progress, offering us candles in case we needed them in the meantime. They were friendly and welcoming, and not intrusive, all of which was really appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property for a single person or couple/couple with a baby to use as a base, and Andrew has other options for those with bigger families or those wanting more space.

  • Pleasant and clean room, very comfortable bed and beautiful views. Welcoming hosts. head height is limited in some parts of the room so probably not ideal for tall guests but we didn't have any issues with it.

  • The space is lovely and worked brilliantly for me and a friend and two small children. It genuinely felt like staying at a friend's house and the space worked really well. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and probably will especially as it is child friendly and five mins from the zoo! Thank you

Planters Studio is a self catering holiday rental with a 1st floor gallery & cast iron 4-poster double bed, a sofa bed is on the GF and a cot on request. In rolling Cotswold farmland the Studio is self contained with off road parking. The location is rural, quiet & peaceful; footpaths surround the Studio. Eastleach village is 3km away where the Queen Victoria is a friendly pub serving good food. Shopping, recreation and other facilities are 6 to 10km away in & near bye Fairford & Lechlade.
The Studio is fully equipped for self catering holidays, it has its own complete kitchen, there is a private entrance, it has a small patio garden and barbecue area. A welcome pack of essentials is always provided.
This part of the Cotswolds we love particularly because it remains very largely working organic farmland rather than a recognised Cotswold destination - like Burford. The near bye villages without exception are all very attractive, most have a pub that serves food from good to restaurant standard. There is a network of footpaths linking the villages. We are happy to recommend our current favourite restaurants and other places or activities of interest.
  • A perfect place to stay for complete peace and quiet. Beautiful cottage, superb hosts and beautiful countryside.

Tucked down a lane, behind a delightful cottage garden, this sweet, homely holiday cottage is a true gem, carved from a once enormous barn into a collection of quality homes. The views are superb, and this coupled with the sound of nothing but birdsong and the occasional tractor ensures this is a true Cotswolds Cotswolds experience. Kids, of course, can run free in the enclosed garden while you enjoy a seat and relax.
Little Owl Barn, with a name like this you'd expect something that is cute and eye-catching. Thankfully it is both, in spades, perfect for Cotswolds holiday in a truly top-notch location. Tucked down a lane, behind a delightful cottage garden, this sweet, homely holiday cottage is a true gem, carved from a once enormous barn into a collection of quality homes. Pleasingly, one of them is now a holiday home for us all to enjoy. Light floods into the barn rooms making sure that even though it is exceptionally cosy, it is not dark or unwelcoming - quite the opposite. The views are superb, and this coupled with the sound of nothing but birdsong and the occasional tractor ensures this is a true Cotswolds' experience. Kids, of course, can run free in the enclosed garden while you enjoy a seat and relax; if you wish you could all stroll down to Burford in about 10 mins for a treat in Huffkins Cafe (maybe a famous Lardy Cake....?!) Inside, the house has been furnished with style which adds to its attractive appeal; upstairs are two bed rooms both of which are simple yet smart. We absolutely love this barn, as will you, - there is nothing not to like! ACCOMMODATION. Open plan living / dining / kitchen. Living Area with a large sofa, plus armchair, gas fire, TV with DVD and wifi. Little Owl Barn sits at the end of a quiet lane in Fulbrook. Fulbrook is a very pretty village, very typical of the villages around the Cotswolds, with many classic cottages and buildings. There's an excellent pub less than 10 mins walk away (The Carpenter's Arms) along with a good choice in Burford which is just over 10 mins walk away. Fulbrook is a great location for the Cotswolds. It is super-close to Burford (see below) and yet no more than 15 mins drive to Chipping Norton and about 20mins to Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water - all three very popular and very attractive to visitors of the Cotswolds. Other notable places to visit, such as Daylesford (15 mins drive) Cotswold Wildlife Park (10 mins drive) Blenheim Palace (20 mins drive) and Oxford (25 mins drive) are all within an easy drive. Surrounding Fulbrook are a host of outstanding villages, walks and countryside which are a must for any visitor. Places such as Swinbrook, Astall, Taynton and The Barringtons are exceptionally pretty. Many have a pub in them, or if not there will be one nearby! Perhaps of greatest interest, however, is the proximity of Burford - possibly the most well known, quaint and attractive of the Cotswolds' places to visit.
  • Excellent, great value accommodation.Relaxing and quiet place to recharge after a busy day out in the Cotswolds. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful location and comfortable accommodation - the enclosed lawn was perfect for a young family and burford was a quick drive down the street. Loved our stay here!

  • This is a beautiful cottage! It's very well equipped with cooking facilities, comfortable beds, and beautiful views out the back as well. The location was great as well, really close to Burford. We had a great stay and would stay here again for sure.

  • Little own barn is beautifully located and well proportioned for a couple, or a young family.

Oxford, Bourton on the water, Chastleton House - alles is prima bereikbaar. Een mooie plek, rustig, grote tuin, alles prima verzorgd: kortom, een aanrader!
