“Maymont Park is the BEST park in the city of Richmond. It's gigantic. It has a petting zoo, aquarium exhibit, historical home, bamboo forest, waterfalls, Japanese water garden with koi pond, Italian rose garden, a super cool birds of prey exhibit, buffalo, bears, and more.. It's a hit with locals and tourists alike. It is a hot spot for weddings, picnics, and play days. Free. (Donation recommended.) ”

“Take some stale bread or crackers to feed the geese and ducks. If it’s nice weather rent a paddle boat to get better views is the water. There’s a concession area to purchase food and snacks but I’m not sure of the hours it’s open. It would also be fine to bring a picnic to eat on the public tables. If you’re looking for a romantic but fun adventure, and this is a good spot too! ”
