Places to stay in Cahore Point
Architect designed beach bungalow, nestled in cove at Cahore pier, Wexford. Light filled, open plan space with direct access to the sea. Only 80 mins from Dublin - the perfect destination for those seeking a holiday or retreat.
The most obvious unique quality to Cois Cuan is it's proximity to the sea. It is also flooded with light all day. In summer month's it's ideal for outdoor / indoor living. With a hot outdoor shower it is a treat for swimmers. It has a small but secluded garden to relax and entertain in for the summer and an open fire for cooler days.
Cahore is a unique location. With the sea, pier, the Strand bar on the hill, stunning cliff walks and 20 miles of sandy beaches at the other side of the cliff walk, this place is like something from an Enid Blyton novel. It's ideal for families (crab fishing and jumping off the nearby pier is a holiday tradition for kids every summer). It's romantic for couples and a restful retreat for those who just want to get away from it all.
  • This is truly an amazing place to escape from the rat race. The sound of the sea just makes you want to sit down, listen and just watch the sea or read a book and relax. The bar/restaurant at the end of the beach is just amazing although check opening times during the winter months. For walkers this place is just in the right place - you go out the back gate, walk along the beach and up the cliff path past the restaurant and you arrive at a 20K beach - just amazing. This was out second time staying in the winter months and we will definitely be back again.

  • They say location is everything and that's definitely true about Ruth's house. Very rare to get a house right on the beach with the sound of the waves crashing lulling you to sleep. Beds are really comfortable and the pub on your doorstep is great. They didn't have a full menu on at this time of year but we had a lovely lunch there. Thanks again Ruth

  • We went for a quite place to study. It was lovely and Ruth was always there for us if we had questions. If we have the chance we would stay there again.

  • Looking for a quiet, well-appointed and totally comfortable space? This is it! I highly recommend Ruth's cottage for a short or extended stay. All the expected amenities and thoughtful extras made my stay really great. The location is ideal to relax and enjoy the seaside. The full kitchen and basic provisions on hand make cooking easy (be sure to read the check in instructions on lighting the stove burners and turning on the oven!) The one time I asked a question, Ruth responded within minutes. Everything about my extended weekend was excellent! Thank you Ruth - highly recommended!!

  • This property is in a really beautiful location, it’s a quaint spot with lots of character. The accommodation was perfect. Ruth was very accommodating and was quick to answer any questions. The weather was great which added to our trip and there are plenty of really nice beaches nearby so our dog had a great time also. Hope to go again to Cahore soon. Mary G

  • We spent 3 wonderful nights in this property. Its location by the sea is unique.

    Michael2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at this house. It leads out to the beach which is lovely for a morning swim. The garden is totally enclosed so the dogs are safe. On a clear night the view of the stars and moon is incredible. Loads of beautiful walks close by. Ruth was lovely and very helpful if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Cahore Coach House is situated in the grounds of Cahore Castle at Cahore Point in County Wexford. The castle grounds extend right to the edge of the sea with just a 5 minute walk to one of Ireland's most beautiful and longest beaches. With room for ten people it's the perfect place for a family get together. Our accommodation comprises of 4 bedrooms (two en-suite) and a family bathroom, a very large fully equipped kitchen, dining, living room, and a large sun room with its own billiards table.
Large glass double doors lead from the sun room to your own private terrace and small private garden. Here why not enjoy the long summer evenings preparing meals with the gas barbecue and relax using the ample patio furniture provided. The castle and grounds are undergoing renovations , so for safety reasons please be aware that guest access is strictly limited to the entrance driveway and the the coach house's private garden and terrace.
Cahore pier is just a 10min walk along the cliff top where you'll find the local pub and restaurant and a visit to Cahore wouldn't be complete if the children didn't while away some hours crab fishing on the pier. This is a very popular fishing spot as well.
  • The host always responded promptly and added love touches wine, fairy door, logs for the burner and the house was lovely and warm on arrival (January. ) our group was from 77 year old to 2 years and was suitable for us all. The living /dining area is huge and the bedrooms comfy and warm The showers were amazing too. We loved the location and had lovely windswept walks in the beach just 2 min walk. I’d recommend taking a flashlight and reflectors if walking after dark down to the local bar diner which was lovely too. Would love to return in summer time as the courtyard and grounds must be lovely

Kyleahaw is a 4 bedroom dormer bungalow in the beautiful location of Roney Point Wexford. Our house is in a small private gated estate with access to it's own sheltered beach. We also have a playground, tennis courts and a beautiful park. Just 1hour 20mins from Dublin and 40 minutes from Wexford town the location is perfect for those traveling around Ireland or looking for a longer term holiday with the kids. Courtown is approx 10mins drive and Gorey town is just 15mins from the house.
The house is very large with an open plan layout downstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary mod cons, we have a large deck for dining on in the back garden. The garden is fully enclosed and we have a large porch to the front of the house, great for having breakfast on!
This is a gated estate with access to our own beach, playground and tennis courts. Perfect for families.
  • We really enjoyed staying in Sarah's it was unfortunate we just didn't have longer and that the nice weather left us. Hopefully we will get to stay again in the summer months.

    Yvonne2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing. We loved everything about this house and location. The facilities are excellent and the private beach and playground are just wonderful. Sarah was great to deal with, so quick in responding and very accommodating. Her information was very accurate and she had left us a very useful manual with local information at the house. I would highly recommend this listing and we hope to go back next year.

    Lorraine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This Home is in an incredible location with awesome sea views from the upstairs bedroom balcony and only a stones throw from the boardwalk down to the amazing cove and beach. Sunrises are super, the area is very private yet accessible but you need to plan your food and drink when returning from day trips as the nearest supermarket is about 3-4km away, not an issue at all. We ate in a lot as the kitchen was well equipped indeed so you need nothing. Our first night the weather turned a little and was quite cold on arrival in the house however within a few minutes Sarah called back after I messaged and advised how to turn on the heating as it’s on a timer so it was nice to know Sarah was at the other end of the phone. The heating was instant and very good indeed and actually we turned off after a few minutes. After that the set timing was perfect so didn’t need to adjust at all, would be very good in winter I would imagine. Our kids loved the toys and books especially the Garden toys and actually splashed around on the pool in the rain, the garden is secure and safe and two large areas perfect to let the children roam free. Also there is a barbecue and we made use of this one evening as we did sitting out on the deck area. With short drives to courtown, Gorey, etc it is a super base to visit the wonderful areas around Wexford. You can see the home is actually a home and feels lived in which adds to the atmosphere. We asked questions prior to visiting but asking was unnecessary as Sarah contacts you with info prior and leaves a good info booklet in the home on arrival. The old adage, Location, Location, Location certainly applies here and is what should drive you to considering here. The plants around Roney point give you a feel of Southern Europe. The other main point that will last in my mind forever is that our children Absolutely loved living here for the 3 nights and were devastated leaving. This is most definitely great for a family stay. Note the playground just a minutes stroll away. We have some awesome photos of the stay for our memories. We loved being here, especially the kids, therefore, we would certainly return if Sarah would have us back.

    Gary2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious and immaculate house in an unbeatable location. 10 minutes walk from two beaches. Secure but quiet setting with friendly neighbours. The kids had hours of amusement with the swing, tents and football nets in the garden and playground when the sun was too hot or while we cooked on the BBQ. Very comfortable for every age group.

    Su2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a great host. Her place is just perfect for families. Everthing you need is thought of even things you forgot you need she has you covered. ! The gated community is private and neighbours very helpful and friendly. The private beach is just wonderful with a park, playground and tennis courts all minutes walk from the house. 15 min drive from courtown the locations is fab. My family had a great trip I would highly recommend staying here.

    Lynsey2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s house was fantastic and I’d highly recommend. I went with two friends and their three children all under 5 years. The house was spotless and really spacious so the kids had plenty of space to play. The garden is fantastic, wraps around the whole house and very secure. The kids spent most of their time playing in the garden so we got to relax. Sarah a lots of toys in the house and two high chairs. The community is gated so we felt really relaxed with the kids. The community is really quite and has a tropical fields to it, we were so surprise, even better than the photos. There is a playground and tennis courts within the community and the walkway to the beach you can see from the upstairs bedroom. Also Roney Point beach is 5 minutes walk. Super close to Courtown and Gorey. We will definitely be back. Sarah was a great host.

    Stella2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay in this house. It is a lovely sspacious house and sooo child friendly with books and toys provided to entertain them. The location is a brilliant base to explore all wexford has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kids are already asking when we can go back. We will definitely return.

    Luci2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this beautiful home for a week. Very spacious but has cosy touches that we felt at home. Nearby beach perfect size and very quiet for our 3 year old and baby to enjoy. Huge bedroom and bathroom downstairs suitable for my elderly parents. Kids were delighted with the toys and books supplied. We also used the kiddie tents when the sun was out. Courtown has the amusements and fun fair loads of things to do. We also visited a small pet farm which was ideal for the 3 year old. Sarah is a perfect host keeping in touch before and during our stay. Would highly recommend this home.

  • Suzanne's Place is a wonderful place to enjoy the stunning skuna bay or to spend time with the family in courtown. It is a beautiful child centred bungalow with lots of quirky touches and a big garden. After heading down to skuna bay and playing with pebbles and driftwood we headed out for two days in Courtown. We swam.in the leisureplex. Went to the seal sanctuary. Played in the arcade and ate ice cream. With the stack of boardgames and games in Suzannes place we didn'thave to go anywhere. There's wonderful kitchen and a great big range. Perfect ffr a self catering holiday. I'll be going again if she'll have us !

  • Maggie was a wonderful hostess and her home very clean and comfortable. She fed us a delicious meal, saving us a long walk into town after a long day of cycling and kindly allowed us to keep our bicycles safely inside. The bedroom was spacious and the bed comfortable. All in all, we would highly recommend Maggie's place! Thanks Maggie!

    Chris2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience of Airbnb and it was just amazing... Maggie was an pure lady and gave us such a warm welcome into her home... The house was absolutely spotless and she went out of our way to make sure we had the best trip... We had a 3 year old boy with us and he absolutely loved Maggie and her house... It was real home to home experience and will definitely be returning each morning she had the kettle boiled and toast waiting. Wat more could u want❤️

    Maria2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie could not have been more welcoming, and the accommodation was sparkling clean and very comfortable. In addition to the good-sized bedroom and large private bathroom (stocked with toiletries), there’s a nice bright front room with tea and instant coffee making facilities that guests can use, and Maggie very kindly brought us toast and fruit for breakfast (and bottles of water to take with us), which was unexpected and most welcome. We’d recommend to anyone looking for a short stay in this lovely part of Ireland.

Our place is close to a quiet beach, ideal for long walks. Come here for peace and quiet, and fresh air. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). Inside a gated complex of about 30 houses with central grass area with playground and tennis court. There is a piano in the house for musical guests!
Our lovely bungalow is detached with a large front garden and an extra large private enclosed back garden. The coast is just behind the back garden so you can hear the waves while sunning in the back.
There is a fabulous walk from Roney Beach to Cahore all along side the sea. Crab fishing and pier jumping at Cahore is an all time favourite for all the family. Shopping and restaurants in the nearby town Gorey are fabulous. Cinema also in Gorey.
  • I highly recommend John & Joans house, they were lovely hosts and accommodating in every way. The house was spotless and we were welcomed with a welcome pack with all the small essentials that added to our stay. We were there on business and would return if work arises in that area again. Thank you very much guys! :)

  • Very nice and cozy house with lots of space and a large garden. John was very friendly and tried hard and we felt very comfortable.

  • We had a fabulous stay in Joan and John's spacious and comfortable house. We especially loved the big, enclosed garden. The house is in a safe, quiet place with a 10 min stroll to a beautiful beach.

  • Spacious rooms, very peaceful and tranquil. Exceptional service levels from John and Joan. I will go back

    Rose2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely safe, quiet, clean house and area only minutes from a similar beach, and very close to nearest towns etc. Loads of space inside and outside the house, and the back garden is enclosed, which is great with young children. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. This was our second year in the Roney area, and we'd have no problem going back again.

    Ross2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is very clean, comfortable and has all the mod cons. In reality, it is more spacious than in the pictures. John's house is ideally located to Courtown and a good base to all the great beaches. There is a walkway down to a little local beach too. Great place for kids and John's house is located straight across from the playground out on the green area, which was perfect for the kids as they were never far away. John also had left some breakfast goodies and wine, which was a lovely surprise - thank you! We would definitely return again sometime and recommend his place to family and friends

  • This home was perfect for us, 2 families with children! There’s a huge garden space for outdoor play - safe play and the views are spectacular! It’s so peaceful! The beaches are 3km away and stunning! It’s not feasible to walk to the beach but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! The beaches are golden sandy with dunes for shelter if it’s windy! Debs was a very friendly, kind host who happily helped us with requests! We will be back! Thank you Debs!

Courtown is situated in North County Wexford which is also known as the sunny southeast .The Chalet is a seven minute drive from Gorey, which is a hub of activity. With its nite clubs, restaurants, pubs, theatre, cinema and shopping you will not be bored. Gorey has a regular bus and rail link to and from Dublin, Rosslare Harbour and Waterford City. Gorey and Courtown are also served by an efficient, cheap and punctual taxi service.
  • Lovely and well equipped cottage within walking distance from the sea. The ideal rural retreat in the countryside.

  • Marie was very correct and responded quickly to our questions. The cottage was ideal for our family of 5 people. Parking space, spacious, clean, close to the town and beach. Recommended! We stayed there for three days. Spent a day by the sea, visited Glendalough for a day and visited the Irish National Heritage Museum in Wexford for a day. It was a beautiful vacation!

    Willem2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean accommodation beside the beach, shop is within walking distance

    Emma2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This house has everything what you need, near the beach, around 1:20 minutes from the airport, in a very safe and quite neighborhood, you have a supermarket with then blocks of the house, etc... i recommend this house to any family, the owners of the house leave near and they are there to guide you anywhere that you want to go.

    Jose2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet is really well equipped, everything you could need is provided in the kitchen. We stayed for a week and used it as our base for our holiday. It was very clean and close to everything. I would recommend a stay here and Marie was a top host.

    Alison2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean accommodation. Well suited for trips in the southeast of Ireland. Marie has always responded to emails quickly. She lives right next to the chalet and is available for any questions. Checking in and out with the key box is uncomplicated and practical. We can recommend the house for five people. For six, it is then in the dining and living area rather narrow. Wi-Fi had only a weak signal.

    Lukas2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay in Marie flat!

    Mario2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marie's place was very clean. A cute little house beside a hostel with everything you need to cook, a nice bathroom, soft blankets, good tv channels, and some dvds too. Check in was easy. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Cliff top house in a beautiful location at Donaghmore, Co Wexford. Relax in this modern comfortable house with an open plan living space warmed by a wood burning stove. Stunning views from the house of the Wexford coastline – framed by Roney point to the North and Glascarraig point to the south. A perfect location for a family, group or a single person.
  • Can't say enough good stuff about this place! All the stuff you'd expect was there - clean, comfy, well equipped etc. But three things for us really made it stand out as one of the best places we've ever stayed - the view (which is incredible), the lovely wood burner (which warmed the space beautifully on cold and windy days) and the location (very private and secluded). There were also plenty of kids toys and books for them to play with, which they loved, and we all had a great time. We hope to return again for longer in the future!

    Dave2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This house is in a beautiful and secluded location, with wonderful views. The beach and sea is just at your doorstep. This is a terrific find and I will be back.

  • Fabulous house in a stunning location. We enjoyed a relaxing week here and rarely left the house as the combination of views out to the sea and the warmth and cosiness of the log burning stove was addictive. I love to cook and this is a cooks kitchen with everything you could want. There is no TV which only added to the feeling of being far away from the hussle and bussel of the outside world.

Bright new loft suitable for a couple. It is not suitable for children. With a large double bedroom, a shower room, and a kitchen/living room. Parking, bike storage. Walking distance to a stunning beach at Old Bawn, and Cahore pier. The Strand Bar at Cahore is a lively spot during the summer months serving Woodfired pizzas along with a dinner menu. (www.thestrandcahore.ie). Gorey 20mins. Dublin 1hr.
Newly decorated loft space. It is suitable for a couple or someone travelling on their own. Accommodation consists of a living/dining area with a kitchenette, a shower room and a bedroom with a very comfortable double bed. The kitchenette has a fridge, 2 ring hob, (no cooker) sink and utensils.
Ballygarrett is a small village situated between two larger holiday villages. This makes Ballygarrett very appealing as we have both the secluded beaches of Old Bawn and Cahore and the amenities of the larger villages of Kilmukridge and Courttown. We are within 20mins drive of Gorey which boasts many fantastic restaurants shops and a weekly farmers market. Wells House is nearby for Clay Pigeon shooting, Falconry, Archery and much more. Ballygarrett and the local area has recently been used to film "The Sea" written by John Banville. "Saving Private Ryan" was filmed in Curracloe Beach a short drive from here. Wexford Town which hosts the International Wexford Opera Festival is about a 40 minute drive.

  • We had a lovely time at Edel’s apartment, beautiful spot for a weekend in the countryside! The place is cosy, clean and nicely decorated and the scenery around with the lovely garden and the horses is perfect to relax and just enjoy the moment. We were lucky with the weather and could spend two days at the nearby beach and follow Edel’s recommendation to have dinner at the Strand Bar with a stunning view over the bay. Edel was the perfect host, communication was quick and easy and we can definitely recommend her without a doubt if you’re looking for a lovely spot on the Irish east coast.

The views are spectacular from the estate and it is very quiet so rest is assured! The house is very spacious with everything you could possibly need. Roney Beach is within walking distance from the house and is very nice for a walk. Recommended!

  • A spacious, comfortable, clean house in a lovely quiet location. There is playground and tennis court a minutes walk from the house and amazing sea views from a little further up within the estate. The beach is amazing and only 5 minutes walk from the house, we skimmed lots of stones and spotted the family of seals that live there (bring binoculars if you have some). Niamh is a wonderful host, very welcoming, great communication and very responsive.

    Lisa2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay in Niamh's house. We stayed there as two families with 2 kids and a baby. There was plenty of space for everyone in the house and all around. The beach was so close too and we were in the sea every day. There were a few waves and a bit of a current which you have to be mindful of wih young kids but there is another beach very close by, 'poll shone', which is much calmer. It is only a very short drive away. Thanks for a great stay Niamh.

  • My wife, son (3), and I loved our stay in Niamh's. It had every box ticked. Clean, stylish, all facilities, space, quiet, and close to the beach, while still close to town. This was our third year in the Roney area, and we'd go back and stay in Niamh's without problem.

Kilmuckridge is a village in County Wexford in Ireland near the Irish Sea coast which is popular with weekend visitors and holidaymakers. It lies on the R742 regional road 22 km (14 mi) south of Gorey. The local beaches are the main attraction of the area, and are part of a long stretch of unbroken sandy beach that connects Cahore to Raven Point. This is said to be one of the longest stretches of beach in Europe. Morriscastle, the most famous beach, is popular with swimmers, walkers, horse riders and anglers, and is the focal point for a cluster of holiday home developments, caravan parks and camp sites. It currently holds a prestigious Blue Flag award, granted due to its excellent water quality, safety, well-managed environment and good local services. Other beaches nearby include Ballinoulart, Tinnaberna and Ballynamona, which are generally secluded and less developed. A substantial wind farm is located near Ballinoulart beach. Common fish regularly caught in the area include bass and flounder. The local coast is host to many rare flora and fauna and is part of a national heritage site, Kilmuckridge-Tinnaberna Sandhills. Morriscastle has also been awarded the Green Coast Beaches award.Kilmuckridge contains a number of historical buildings as well as restaurants, guesthouses, pubs, and shops, and the popularity of the village as a tourist resort has encouraged much building and development in recent decades. This was largely fuelled by relatively affordable local property, access to amenities and improvements to the N11 road connecting County Wexford to Dublin. As of late 2014, property values in Kilmuckridge generally remain very competitive. Around 7 km from the village is a famous mansion called Wells House, which has extensive gardens, an animal farm, and childrens playground. Archery and falconry are also practised. It was opened to the general public in recent years and is popular with day visitors. It is found on the R741 road, near the small village of Ballyedmond and about 18 km south of Gorey. Wexford town is a further 26 km south. Blackwater Golf Course is located about five kilometres from Kilmuckridge. This 2400-yard Par 3 course is a major attraction for visitors. Other places of note near Kilmuckridge are the historic villages of Blackwater, County Wexford, Curracloe, Boolavogue, Cahore, Ballygarrett and Courtown. On older maps, the village is sometimes referred to by its older name of Ford, or The Ford. The name Kilmuckridge originally referred to a small road junction about 1.5 km from the main village and site of the Church of Ireland church.TransportThe village is located approximately 119 kilometres from central Dublin. The citys southern outskirts can be reached in around one hour by car. Michael Gray runs a daily Mondays to Fridays service between the village and Wexford. Bus Éireann local route 379 serves the village on Mondays and Saturdays only. On Mondays there is a bus at 10.59am to Gorey and at 4.11pm to Wexford. On Saturdays there are buses to Wexford at 12.46pm and 4.52pm. There is also a bus to Gorey at 8.59am.
  • We were delighted with this house. It very comfortably accommodates 8 people. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The oven and hob is perfect to cook for 8 people and dining table to sit 8 people. The sitting room is so big and accommodating. It was just perfect for our stay. About a 20minute walk to the beach. Mark was such a great communicator, very accommodating and helpful. The house can be cold and the water pump is quite loud upstairs.

  • We stayed at Seaview for February mid term break and had an amazing time. We were a family of parents, 4 children from toddler to teenager and grandparents. The house offered everything we could hope for including a games room with air hockey, pool, board games, WiFi and the living room had a real fire to chill in front of with a glass of wine and a good book. The house is very large and spacious and perfect for a shared group. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed family meals together and jigsaws in the sun room. Everyone loved this house and we would all highly recommend it and hope to return some day! We had to force ourselves out of the house for sightseeing in wonderful Wexford however the house is a destination point in its own right and we would quite happily have stayed inside for the whole week!

  • This house was just what we were looking for. In a small town, close to the beach with nearby grocery, take-out and pubs. Reachable distance to Dublin and Waterford. It has 3 sitting areas and plenty of amenities. We were really happy to have one bedroom downstairs for my mother to stay in. There was plenty to entertain my children, including, games, books and bikes.

    Helena2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We went to Kilmuckridge for a family trip with a group of 5 discerning ladies who found the facilities and surroundings very much to their liking, the check in was great, communications excellent and accommodation was first rate while the welcome pack of grocery items was very good indeed. The house is in a very quiet area which is a short cycle or slightly longer walk to the brilliant Morricastle beach, restaurants are in the local village of Kilmuckridge but we never got to sample them so not sure about that. The communication from Mark the owner was excellent ...... all in all a great choice for a stay in County Wexford.

  • We've just had a brilliant week in Matt's house. The house is spacious and the gardens are lovely and it's an ideal location for the beach and many other local attractions. Highly recommend old bawn beach and Kate's in Kilmuckridge for breakfast or lunch. Matt was always on hand if we needed him, gave us lots of local tips and it was a pleasure to be there.

  • This house was perfect for our young families (two families) and the toys and games suited the kids of all ages. A stones throw from Cahore point for crabbing from the harbour, Courttown with its seaside charm, the secluded Old Bawn beach and family friendly Morriscastle strand....we would happily be back! Thanks Matthew and family for making us welcome.
