Park
“It is a romantic garden that embraces the old thermal hospital, built during the reign of D. João V. Refurbished in 1950, D. Carlos I Park was expanded to include the José Malhoa Museum and a restaurant. It is a point not to be missed today in the beautiful city of Caldas da Rainha, as well as the colorful fruit market and the Bordalliana Route.”

“A medium sized shopping centre with a multi-plex cinema. This is a good place to park and then you can stroll through the D. Carlos I Park or up to the market square for the fruit and vegetable market.”

“Solar dos Amigos was born 37 years old, initially started as a small cellar where small snacks were served accompanied by the sound of Portuguese fado. Over the years the restaurant has grown and currently has 5 rooms, each room has a decoration linked to the art of bullfighting. In this restaurant our guests are welcomed with great sympathy, and thus end up feeling as if they were from home, engaging in this warm atmosphere transmitted by this team.”

“The fruit and vegetable market in Praça da República is one of the curiosities of Caldas da Rainha. In the square are drawn the spaces that the merchants will occupy with their stalls. It is a colorful and lively show and the opportunity to enjoy some of the best productions in the surrounding regions. Open every day in the mornings.”

“Caldas da Rainha is the largest nearby town and located in it's centre is Parque Dom Carlos I. The majority of the park is shaded by huge and beautiful trees making it pleasant to walk there in hot weather. Near the entrance is an outdoor coffee shop and large children's play area as well as rowing boats available for hire on the park's charming featured pond. We recommend trying the traditional Portuguese custard tart; Pastella de Nata!”

“Adopting a modern and entrepreneurial stance, Bordallo Pinheiro plays an essential role in the national and international revitalization of Portuguese ceramics and the artistic heritage of the founder of the Artistic Faience Factory, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro. By maintaining the integrity of the tradition, using the naturalistic motifs at the origin of the great Bordallian project, along with the ancient manufacturing techniques, Bordallo Pinheiro inscribes its offer in contemporary times, thanks to the excellence and continuous reinvention of its production, both aesthetically and technician.”

“This is the closest city to Foz do Arelho. It has everything you might want in terms of shopping/laundry/medical needs. It is also a beautiful old city, where you can take a nice walk through the historical center. Be sure not the miss the daily market (go in the morning) at Praça da República, as it has a very good offering of fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, etc. and do visit the Parque Municipal, which is a lovely green area, perfect for a walk or boat ride.”
