  • Neva's place on Campobello is as spectacular as the island itself. I have visited Campobello many times and have always stayed in Lubec, Maine. But in the future, I will return to Neva's place. The wood floors, paneling and ceilings give the place a rustic but modern look. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable, as are the bathrooms. There is a great sitting room with a fantastic view of the water. The yard facing the water offers several great places to relax including near the edge of the water. I wish I had more time to spend there and next time I will. Neva has created a special place on Campobello that will not disappoint her guests in any way. She is a highly recommended host.

  • Just a wonderful place to visit . The area is a gem to visit , I can now see why the Roosevelt's enjoyed this Island . Neva pointed out all the wonderful things about the town . Would have liked to take the ferry to the Island but we did not have time, maybe next time. We did find beach glass enjoyed looking for it.

  • This is an awesome location. We watched whales from the porch. Neva is very nice and knowledgeable about the area. A great view, good host, and a clean comfortable place to stay. Just doesn’t get any better than that.

    Pam2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were following the route of Hurricane Dorian and were forced to shorten our stay. Neva was a great help and making sure our arrangements worked out OK. She is a neat and wonderful host - I teased her about our ocean view not being perfect as we did not spy an eagle but the whale sighting, fireworks, in Eastport, and nearly full moon made up for the shortfall. The space is as pictured - we were able to enjoy our meal in the wonderful common area. The internet was out on the island which forced us to enjoy a disconnected evening. We hope to get back to Campobello soon - it is a magic place.

  • An absolutely spectacular place right on the water. Very restful and well located for visiting Roosevelt International Park, restaurants and hiking. Stunning water views. Neva is a delightful host who also gives you privacy.

  • A wonderful place to stay and close proximity to all the Island offered. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed the lovely sunsets and beauty of the bay. Neva was very gracious, friendly and offered many suggestions on local food, things to do and places to visit. We truly enjoyed our first visit to Roosevelt Campobello International Park!

  • Neva is a wonderful host who knows the area very well. Pictures are true to form. You will get what the pictures show and her place is very clean and comfortable. It is directly on the ocean and watching a sunset from her chairs with a glass of wine seems like a nice way to finish a day. Cheers ;)

  • Neva's place is super special. The sunset from the living area was one of the highlights of my summer! What a magical place. I knew nothing about Campobello before arriving, but had great fun exploring and learning about the island. Neva is a gracious host and her place is set up perfectly to host people. I met a couple of nice couples while there too. I would love to come back again to stay!

  • Claytons place was great. It was really clean and homie. Clayton himself was extremely nice and was very hospitable.

  • A good, solid place to stay. More in the vein of the original intention of Airbnb. Someone with some extra space, renting a room for a little extra cash. Every place I’ve stayed at with Airbnb has been a good experience, but sometimes it’s really a more commercial endeavour just using the platform.

    Stephan2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, don’t judge by the outside. If you are looking for a place to sleep comfortable and for a good price, this is the place. Bedroom and washroom were clean, bed was really comfortable and we had a small fridge for us in our room. Also he has a nice patio where we ate our lunch and relax. I did not talk a lot with Clayton but he showed us where everything was and make sure everything was ok :)

    Hélène2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described. A simple place for me to get some rest. The host is nice enough to come out looking for me as I get confused by the house number from my GPS.

    Frank2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to discover a beautiful island that fills good people.

    Martin2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Clayton readily shares his life-long knowledge of the island and surroundings making exploring the island so much more than just a trip to visit the Park. Great fun.

    Tina2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • great place to stay over on the island. Will stay again when travelling there next time.

The locals once called it "The City" Dark Harbour is its name. Enjoy peace, serenity and beautiful sunsets! This cabin is nestled around the bend on the beach of Dark Harbour Pond. Fully accessible by vehicle when the tide is down. When the water rises you can enjoy complete solitude or throw the kayak in and go for a paddle.
This is an "off the grid" cabin on the beach in Dark Harbour, Grand Manan. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping couch to accommodate up to 7 people comfortably. We have recently installed a rainwater collection tank although there is Fresh Mountain spring water flowing near by. You will be surprised to find indoor bathroom facilities. These include a solar shower and toilet! It's rustic, cozy and beautiful! There is no power, other than solar and battery powered lights. Hence the rustic nature of this location. *we are continually working towards comforts of home to serve you better. But for now the beauty and serenity of this place will be enough to make your trip to Grand Manan the most memorable vacation spot yet!
The road to Dark Harbour is winding with quick turns and very high cliffs. Please take care whilst driving. We are just 5 minutes to the convenience / liquor store in the village of Castalia. About 10 minutes from the Ferry landing. All other sites and locations are within 30mins away. The island is only 21miles long so getting around is a piece of cake.
  • Very quiet, clean and serene! We enjoyed our weekend stay and plan to come back!

    Chantal2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful off the grid Airbnb perfect for getting away, enjoying the nature and a nice cozy evening by the fire place after exploring the island. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. Brenda and Jennifer went over and above to make sure we were well taken care of. Had a great time and can’t wait to come back one day.

    Al2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had no problems planning our outing around high tide to plan our outings, and felt very comfortable parking our vehicle in the driveway during high tide. There are a few things that required us to do differently because of the cottage being off grid; however nothing that made our stay unbearable. You cannot drink the water that is coming out of the taps however the owners provide plenty of drinking water. The refrigerator is small so bring coolers with ice. There is a small TV with a DVD player and lots of board games but the best part is being able to walk the rocky beach.

    Una2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place will change your life in a mystical way, if you let it.

    Jay2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in early October. Jennifer’s mom met us there and showed us everything we needed to know about the place. We quickly learned to adjust with the tides and parked next to the camp or on the road as needed. Beds were very comfortable, and in spite of being off the grid, the solar panel provided all the electricity we needed, and there was plenty of drinking water provided. Grand Manan is a beautiful place and Dark Harbour is one of its unique spots with lots of history as well. We enjoyed using the kayaks that are there to explore the harbor. We were impressed with how comfortable and cozy the place was. The only thing some might find challenging is the shower situation. There is a stall in the bathroom with a shower bag that you fill up with warm water. The toilet is like a camper toilet and easy to use. We loved our time there in Dark Harbour, and found Jennifer and her mother’s place to be an exceptional value for a beautiful spot.

    Brian & Sherrie2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot in Dark Harbour! Jennifer and Brenda were amazing hosts and the cabin was great! We weathered through hurricane Dorian but were all set because the place is solar powered. It’s away from the busier side of the island so it’s a nice little spot to really enjoy the stars and hear the sounds of nature.

    Kaeley2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Everything was great! Jennifer was amazing to deal with!

    Dana2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cozy spot in an absolutely gorgeous location. It is very secluded, dark and quite. We stayed up late one night and watched as the tide come in while star gazing. One night it rained and the rain tapping on the tin roof made the whole atmosphere super cozy. Bed was very comfortable and the owner was accommodating, letting us bring our dog and providing things like hot water. We loved our stay! The only thing we had a problem with was the shower situation at the cabin. We ended up at a campground for a hot shower after hiking all day!

  • An amazing ocean front view, clean cottage, an amazing back deck that featured a comfortable hammock and, screened in living space all overlooking the ocean! Definitely want to return in the future. Campobello Island is a must visit.

  • a delightful cottage that makes for a perfect island stay. my husband and i stayed for three nights, and loved the setting and the whole experience. everything we needed was in the cottage; thebed was incredibly comfortable, great reading lamps (a huge plus for us) and both a screened-in porch and a deck overlooking the lovely cove.

    Susan2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little cottage with outstanding views. Periwinkle is a fantastic place to relax and recharge.

    Brandon2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Love this place! Had the opportunity to revisit after 10 years and hope to return sooner than that next time! Highly recommend!

    Brian2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were seeking. The cottage was stocked with everything one could need and extremely clean. We really enjoyed the chairs rights on the ledge overlooking the water and took advantage of the hammock for afternoon naps in the sun listening to the birds and wind in the trees. No need to look elsewhere if we made the journey again to Campobello Island, we’d stay here again. Dennis is a fantastic host.

It is like a one bedroom apartment in a quiet waterfront neighborhood with a great view. The nice welcome touches made it clear the owner cares very much for the wellbeing of the travelers. • My wife, our dog and I all stayed here until our long-term accommodations were ready. Douglas is an amazing host! His kindness and care about his guests is truly what makes it a 5star experience. He goes out of his way to make you feel right at home. The cabin is very well setup for short-term accomodations. Nice sitting areas indoors and outdoors. Beautiful view of the water from the living room couch. It's far enough from Douglas' house and in the country to have your privacy, but also super close to St Stephen and St Andrews for things to do. Would and will recommend this location to friends/family who are travelling this way. Thanks again, Douglas and Family!

  • Had an awesome stay! Beautiful location with lots of nearby activities. Cute and cozy place with amazing view of the high tide. Animals on site were the perfect addition and access to kayaks was also great!

  • Turning Tides is the most adorable “tiny house” imaginable and Doug and his son Matt are the most wonderful, welcoming, hospitable hosts. The tiny house is beautifully done in every way with so much thought, style, and attention to detail. It’s small, but it has it all! We were just passing through, but I could easily have wanted to stay. There were good books to read, movies to watch, and animals to play with, not to mention Doug and Matt. I cant recommend this place more highly. It is a gem.

    Raquel2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Quick one night stay, was the perfect cozy spot after a long drive. Very welcoming and comfortable. Great suggestions on activities in the area. Would have loved a chance to stay longer!

  • Douglas's house Was the most special and amazing place We have ever stayed. We really enjoyed and it was really fun to stay in such a unique place. Douglas was a kind and friendly host. Small Cabin right by the ocean. Beautiful trails to walk around the property with fields of horses, peacocks, swans and geese. Secluded but only a short drive away from the town of St. Andrews.
  • Wonderful place! Great location, perfect size for our family of 3. Couldn’t ask for more!

  • A perfectly lovely spot to stay, relax and enjoy nature! Krista and Jordy were quick to communicate; they have a sparkling clean cabin; all that you might need is available; and a beautiful beach to walk along and gather sea glass! Like a dream. Highly recommend.

    Brooke2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, which felt much like a house boat during high tides to offer a true Maritime experience. The off-grid power system was very impressive and managed to run all of the amenities without any problems, and the wood stove was absolutely delightful during our fall stay. We have already recommended this place to many of our friends and family. Thank you, Krista & Jordy for sharing this special place.

    Mike2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing view at what seems like the end of world. Million dollar view makes you just want to curl up in front of the fireplace or on the deck and watch the tides roll in and out.

    Gary2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • By far our best Airbnb experience to date. This was our first time visiting New Brunswick and The Artists Cabin is exactly how we’d imagined East Coast Living — private, relaxing, comfortable, breath taking, easy and the most beautiful sounds and sights we could imagine. Thank you for allowing us the much needed 2 days of relaxation after 2 years of planning a wedding. We could not have picked a better place to start our honeymoon and we are forever grateful.

    Josh2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Follow Krista’s very specific directions, and you will discover a tiny cabin on the brink of the Bay! Inside is a quiet and warm space with just enough, but not too much, to enjoy your stay! The many panés of glass easily frame the beauty of the water and the coastline. We drank wine, read, walked the shore and slept in our short stay. An easy distance from the vibrant town of St. Andrews also. We found the cabin completely clean , the bed very comfortable, and the information provided thorough.the only thing we noticed was the front door was weathered and quite hard to close, and there are a few rotten slats on the doorstep. Otherwise, just lovely! Thanks, and we will be back next year!

    Caroline2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We met on our long trip to Canada many beautiful place and nice hosts. However, Krista and Jordy and their Artist's Cabin are unequaled. A really nice holiday home with a magnificent view of the bay. And the two hosts are so welcoming and helpful, it could not be better.

    André2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • A simply beautiful spot beyond compare. It’s as close to the bay as you’ll get before you’re swimming... so fun to watch all the birds (loons, herons, ducks and more) cruise by all morning, and walk the trails along the beach. The wood stove is awesome for a chilly night in, and we loved watching sunrise from inside in the morning. Krista and Jordy were amazing hosts as well. Don’t miss this spot! And be sure to get a reservation for dinner at The Rossmount Inn, which was delicious! Also recommend hiking around Ministers Island, which is very beautiful and fun to see.

  • Great place for glamping. Our tent had all the comforts of home. And our own bathroom, though in order to shower must walk to shared building. Everything was clean and just as advertised. Breakast was good. Along the lines of continental breakfast. Michael was friendly. In shared building there is a massage chair, it is the cadillac of massage chairs. Check it out.

  • We tried the glamping spot and it was great! We had a a late check in and Michael was super accomodating. The place is set back away from the road and very clean and warm. The breakfast was fantastic and the rest of the premises were adorable and quaint. Overall a delightful experience!

    Katherine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What we enjoyed our stay !!! We are very kindly received by the host. He took the time to explain everything to us about the glamping. We had a fantastic night on a wonderful bed in the tent. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi and massage chair that is available for every guest. In the tent there is a heater and also a fan. Breakfast was extensive and we did not want to miss this experience.

  • What is wonderful about this quiet room with a private entrance in the beautiful town of Saint Andrews, NB, is the smiling face that greets you at his open door as you arrive! Unlike many B&B’s that send you an impersonal entrance code, Dave is always around and sending out a warm hello from his open door, kitchen window or yard. He helps you in with your bags, gives you a rundown of the place and lets you know whom else is staying with him. I would stay here again and again! :)

Cute little cottage right on the lake and only 15 minutes to beautiful St. Andrews-by-the-Sea! This quirky little place was hand built by my Grampy 70 years ago and has lots of charm. Sip your coffee on the front deck while listening to the loons or enjoy the peace of the breeze through the wild flowers (we feed the bees!). No pets please :)

  • The cottage is very cozy and well decorated. The view is absolutely breathtaking. It was perfect for a quiet and peaceful weekend getaway.

  • Nicole was very communicative and quick to reply both before and during the stay. She helped us out when we was looking for a specific kitchen utensil (out of the ordinary) and provided us with it. The cabin is well worth the money and the pictures didn't quite catch the feeling. It looks much more new and cozy in real life. Tucked away just at the lakefront. We had a great time.

    Jesper2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed everything! This cottage is in a quiet peaceful setting . Out of the way but close enough I was still able to tour around the area easily. The cottage was clean , bright and comfortable. I had the best sleep and could cook all my meals there with ease. The lake is beautiful and quiet ,the perfect place to paddleboard. You will not be disappointed staying here .

Welcome to our home! Over many years this now-cottage has been home to many tools, lobster traps, and artwork, but most importantly, it has been home to dreams. Now, we want to welcome you into ours.
Over the past six months we have been renovating the space with you and our family in mind. Both have always been our goal. The comforts for our small family in mind, that you will love, too. Entering into our home you will feel a warmth and hominess lovingly curated with wood, colour, and history. With a view of Swallow Tail Lighthouse, the water only a minute’s walk away, and hiking close to hand, you’ve got so many options to get outside, or just stay in to enjoy it. The stars are countless on a clear night, and with the windows open you can hear the waves crashing, the deer huffing, and upon occasion, a whale blowing in the cove. By day let the gorgeous colours of the scenery in trees, flowers, and of the many species of birds here astound you!
Grand Manan is located in the incredible Bay of Fundy, offering everything from whales, birds, hiking trails, kayaking, adorable little cafes, and excellent restaurants to choose from. We're located in North Head near Pettes Cove, which is only a minute's walk away. We're also near the Net Point hiking trail, Swallow Tail Lighthouse, and if you're up for a longer hike, try Hole-in-the-Wall! It's a stunner!
  • Kim’s barn is the perfect getaway. Outstanding location, amenities, and hospitality. We will certainly be back again soon.

  • A cozy, charming place in a great location. Many thoughtful touches throughout. We stayed during our wedding anniversary week, and Kim was so kind — she left us a nice note and a bottle of sparkling wine. She was helpful and responsive throughout. We love Grand Manan and hope to visit again soon — when we do, we’ll certainly stay with Kim again.

    David2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kim was an amazing host. I went to photograph the island and she pointed me to some very wonderful spots. Walking distance to town and actually to Swallow Tail Lighthouse. On a foggy night it was great to hear the foghorn in the distance. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop. Best one on the island 🙂

    Scott2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place to stay for your Grand Manan vacation! 2 minutes from the ferry and swallowtail lighthouse. 5 minutes drive to hiking trails and hole in the wall. Walk down to Pettes cove beach. You can see the lighthouse from the cottage. The cottage itself is so charming and looks like it could be featured in a magazine! We slept in the loft and our 8 month old slept in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen is perfect with everything you need. Nice patio to relax on. Everything was very clean. Kim was very friendly and always available if we had questions about anything! We are definitely going to stay here again on our next Grand Manan vacation!

    Raphaelle2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The cottage was cozy and adorable. The decor was 👌 It was located just a walk away from the ferry, lighthouse, the cove, cafes and cute gift shops. We loved everything about our stay here and looking forward to staying here again in the future.

  • We spent a week at Susan’s cottage the last week of August and had a wonderful time. The area was quiet and private but it wasn’t secluded. We used Susan’s guide book and guest book to give us hints on the best spots to visit and were never bored or disappointed. Susan was always quick to answer any questions we had and was a wonderful host. It was especially cool to see the tides from the cottage! I would highly recommend going to “The Niger reef” in St Andrews, and “Tipsy Tails,” on the way back from hopewell rocks in Alma, as these are both hidden gems.

    Lauren2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good place to stay. Amazing views on the tides. You'll like it!!

Our cottages, overlooking spectacular Flagg's Cove, are a perfect location for exploring all that Grand Manan has to offer!
Our cottages have a fully functional kitchen to prepare your own meals. You can enjoy them on the furnished deck if the spirit moves you! Both bedrooms have memory foam mattresses, and the bathroom is equipped with a new shower. Towels, bedding and soap are provided; everything you need for a comfortable stay! We might just turn you into a Grand Mananer!
Moonlight Bay Cottage are smack dab between the villages of North Head and Castalia overlooking Flagg's Cove. Incredible sunrises, and the moon travelling across the cove is spectacular!
  • Great little cottage for my stay, clean and efficient. I was on the island for work so didn't get to explore but this would be a great base for any island visitor.

    Lisa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We recommend moonlight bay cottages, very clean and modern, a few minutes drive from all services. A beautiful place to discover whether on foot, by car or by boat, you will not fail to be dazzled by all that you will see! Price-quality 10/10 ...! Our host Deborah, a lady very welcoming and concerned about our comfort. We loved our stay at Grand Manan Island

    Sylvie2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Turns out this tiny house is actually not so tiny after all. We were two adults and were very comfortable. Lovely amenities throughout. Everyone who reviews this cottage mentions two things in particular: the view and Deb. The reason for that is both are awesome. There really are no words to describe the view, it's just spectacular. Early risers (like us) are also treated to incredible sunrises, and if you stay up late and bundle up, you'll hear the whales singing. Deb is fabulous to deal with, always smiling, even when showing up during Dorian's angry visit to bring us candles and a flashlight. Grand Manan is incredibly beautiful, the people so friendly and helpful, it's really like another world. We found the prices on the island to be comparable with other tourist areas, and actually the grocery store prices are pretty much the same as here in Montreal. The cottage is in the perfect spot to explore the island easily. We thought nine days would be long enough to see everything we wanted to but we were wrong. If you're a nature lover, this is your happy place. Trust me on this.

    Andrea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully appointed cottage with amenities that make you feel right at home! We could have simply sat on the porch daily to enjoy the view but knowing the view would be there was the best part of returning to the cottage each day. Dining al fresco was delightful for this reason. We enjoyed our stay very much, our first Airbnb experience. Our hosts definitely hit the mark with this cottage. Grand Manan is a special place to visit.

    Leigh A2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little cabin and very clean. With a easy but rugged walk down to the beach . Stayed there with my husband and 12 year old son. Deb is accurate that it is an ideal location for exploring the whole island. Great distance to town. We didn’t really need Deb for anything, but I felt she was easy to contact if we did.

    Kelly2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great view, nice amenities, great host.

    Sherry2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • lovely cottage, had all the necessities for your stay, was very surprised with tv and nexflix. power went off 2 while we were there, but not Deborah's fault. The island is beautiful but a week was way to long, prices on the island are much higher that the main land so be aware

We were able to cook our own food and relax in a warm comfortable apartment. Helen answered all my questions and directed us to things to see and do around the area. If anyone is looking for a place to stay in St. Andrew's, this is my #1 pick for sure!

Island living at it's best! Minutes from the beach, ferry landing, and Roosevelt's Park. Tastefully decorated to complement the island that FDR loved. View the ocean and Eastport, Maine from this charming cottage in the community of Welshpool
Decorated to complement island living and convenient to island activities.
Our neighbors are, in a word, exceptional. They are both friends and relatives, and are eager to make your acquaintance, if you desire.
  • Lovely, stylish, thoughtfully decorated, and home-like: the small touches meant a lot. Very quiet and serene. Would definitely stay again!

    Richard2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this quaint, comfortable cottage on Campobello. As honeymooners we were not disappointed with the place! Loved our stay.

  • What a fantastic stay we had here at this charming, clean, and spacious cottage. The hosts were so easy to communicate with and gave us many great ideas on how best to explore the area. The island was very peaceful yet offered such a variety of gorgeous nature spots, views and trails that our kids enjoyed. We loved the Roosevelt International Park sunsets, and stars. We hope to come back someday!

    Susanna2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here. The area is very quiet. The front window and the front deck face west so you can see the glow of the sunset ( and the house is only a block from the water). Brian was very responsive to my questions and made a great restaurant recommendation for us. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen was very clean and seemed to have everything you would need to make meals. This doesn’t relate to the house, but I would highly recommend going on a whale watch with Island Cruises. The pilot and his assistant are very nice and top notch.

    Donna2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage- quiet respite in a great location. We never visited the island but we made the right choice! Thanks.

    Patricia2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brian and Treena are super hosts! They are both extra friendly and helpful. Our stay could not have been any better. Their cottage was just a wonderful place. The island a great place to stay with an extremely friendly community. We would recommend this cottage to anyone.

  • This place was amazing. Charming cottage accurately describes this place. It feels like home. It was so amazing to be able to look out and see the bay. I loved enjoying my glass of wine out on the cutest patio. The place was super clean and well decorated. The island was great to explore and Brian was super helpful with suggestions. I will definitely return it is on my top places to visit now.

A peaceful retreat, located at the serene southern end of the island. Newly remodeled in 2019, with two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Watch the sun rise over the water, while listening to the calls of seabirds. A short 3/4 mile from beautiful Deep Cove beach, and only a short drive from the popular sandy Seal Cove beach. Enjoy the peace and tranquility our house has to offer.
Marvelous stargazing due to minimal light pollution. Watch the fishing boats going by, and occasionally whales are visible from the house.
The Flock of Sheep hiking trail is a short drive down the road. Southern Head, with its breathtaking sunsets is also a short drive. The trail to Bradford Cove, which is on the back of the island, is only a half mile away.

  • We had a lovely stay at Trent's cottage in January. It's a lovely cottage and his Aunt and Uncle who handled check-in were lovely people who provided lots of recommendations for shops and the few restaurants that were open off-season. I would recommend the cottage.

  • Very cozy, clean, and well-equiped house, perfect for our visit to Grand Manan! Quick to respond, and easy check-in.

Idyllic GRAND MANAN ISLAND OCEANFRONT LOCATION! The first thing you`ll notice as you embark down the winding driveway is the fresh sea breeze and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocky shore. This oceanfront property is located at the peaceful end of the island, well known for it`s serenity. The loft offers panoramic views of the Bay of Fundy and beyond. The beautiful loft compromises a queen size bed, kitchenette, shower, and a peaceful seating area overlooking the bay.
The loft is located in the top half of a building located next to our home. The open concept loft overlooks the ocean with its many windows. You can hear the oceans crashing waves during your entire stay! Because of its location you will be awoken every morning by the beautiful sunrises! The kitchenette features a mini fridge, cooktop, toaster, toaster oven, microwave, crock pot, and other little items! The bathroom consists of a stand up shower, toilet and sink with a large mirror. The queen size bed is located in the centre of the loft. Take in all the breathtaking views directly from the bed. Musically talented? The loft also features a piano! Is there something in particular you were looking for? Simply ask and we will see what we can do!
Southern Head is at the opposite end of the island from the ferry terminal. It takes approximately 15 minutes to arrive at the loft from the ferry terminal. Southern Head is noted for its breathtaking views, private locations, and serenity. The southern head lighthouse is only a minute away from the loft. Deep Cove beach is only a couple minutes away and at low tide is known to be one of the best beaches around! There are many little shops and restaurants located on the island. Just ask us about our favorites!
  • Great space, it was very clean and comfortable. Location is easy to get to and so quiet- all you hear are the crashing waves outside your windows. Kitchen is stocked with all the cookware essentials You may need. Great trail right outside the door takes you to one of the Island’s many lighthouses.

  • Absolutely beautiful! Would come again for sure! Loved that it was in the south end of Grand Manan because it gave us the opportunity to drive all over the Island and hit every spot that we looked forward to visiting! The views outside the windows and attention to detail was my favourite parts about the loft! Watching the sunrise with our coffees, seeing seals right outside our windows, it was everything I had hoped for! The flock of sheep trail is also connected to this property, we hiked almost all of the trails on Grand Manan and this one was by far our favourite (The Hole in the wall was also great) ! When you drive down to the property make sure you keep an eye out for the spray painted sheep on the road, was pretty neat to see! Victoria and Alex were so down to earth and you instantly felt looked after. Thank you for opening up your space for us. 5/5 in our books.

    Samantha2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I lucked out with the weather even though my stay was during the off-season. Bright and sunny!! If you like to wake up with the sun and want your own little private writers’/readers’ getaway, this is the spot for you.

    Lori-Ann2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! The loft was more than we had anticipated. Was bright, comfortable and decorated perfectly. We watched seals from the loft and had the waves crashing along the shore to put us to sleep. We hiked the Flock of Sheep trail right from the loft. The views along the trail was unreal. Victoria and Alex are great. We will definitely be back to explore more of that beautiful island.

    Stacey2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the stay at Sou'west Sunrise. It is a lovely upstairs garage apartment overlooking the Bay of Fundy. There is an incredible hiking trail that runs past this property called the "Flock of Sheep". It is a must do for anyone wanting a great hike and breathtaking views. The apartment is spacious and a great place to unwind. We enjoyed our stay and would return any time.

    Steven2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you love nature and being close to the sea, you will not find a better place the Victoria’s and Alex’s loft. It overlooks the Bay of Fundy, and is a large, open space with views. All the amenities are included, even an upright piano. My wife and I stayed 3 nights, and cooked local seafood in the loft, never having a desire to explore the few restaurants on Grand Manan. Hiking trails are out the door, with spectacular views overlooking cliffs. And the hosts are fine people, who will give you any info you need to get to know the island. This is our 2nd time staying, and we hope to return when we can. Highly recommended!

    Robert2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great get-away from all the distractions of your busy life!! Know before you go — you MUST make a reservation for the ferry at least two days before your planned crossing — we didn’t know, but because a hurricane was blowing through, we “got lucky” and got a spot. Visit coastaltransport.ca for details. The space is efficient and comfortable — beautiful views everywhere you look! Great hiking, very friendly people. Depending on when you visit, be aware that you might not find a lot open. We were there in early Sept and found most restaurants were closed. Every place that was recommended to us was “closed for the season.” The space had a well-equipped kitchenette, so I suppose I could have cooked...but I was hoping to avoid that while on vacation. 😬

2 electric fireplaces, pet lobster in small tank, toaster, coffee maker, coffee filters, dishwasher (3 pods), Wifi, satellite TV.
We are central to the Victoria park which contains the outdoor swimming pool, playground, baseball diamond and tennis courts. Nearby is Scotiabank, TRAPPED gift store and drinks, Island Home Hardware, Great Canadian dollar store, Grand Manan Museum, Harbour Grill and gift shop, Newtons Café, the school with public playground and the public Library. All of these are within a 1 minute to 2 minute drive or 5-20 minute walk.
  • A great location mid island so you are not more than a fifteen minute drive to either end. Five minutes from the gas station and grocery store. Lisa’s place is really well equipped, very comfortable and very clean and tidy. The laundry facilities are a real bonus to travellers who are staying for a while or just stopping for a couple of days during a longer journey. The rear deck offers privacy and a quiet place to read a book or just enjoy the natural beauty of the place. For a couple of days, a couple of weeks or a couple of months I don’t think you could find a more comfortable place to stay.

  • Great house to stay at close to everything, clean is an understatement! Was perfect for my family and very kid friendly.

    Courtney2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, super cute place and very clean and tidy. I appreciated the well equipped kitchen and great laundry- both important for road weary travellers. Host Lisa was easy to contact and easy to deal with.

    Maureen2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Home is very cozy and clean, beds are comfy. Kids loved the swing set.

    Amy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Good communicator, quick responses, very good value! Beautiful peaceful back yard and clean. Good host.

  • Lisa’s place is absolutely perfect! It is very clean and tidy and has absolutely everything you need for a relaxing getaway. It is located at the perfect area of the island, close to both the north and south points, allowing ease when site seeing. Lisa is very easy to contact and quick with responses! Would highly recommend staying here! Her place is also pretty child proof and I was actually able to enjoy my getaway and relax with my ten month old! Thanks Lisa!!

    Ashley2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet, well equipped, close to everything! Outstanding host.

    Douglas2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Lisa's house; it's probably been my favorite lodging on my trip so far (out of 12). First, the island itself is a lovely place to get away while also having lots of interesting diversions, and the house's location in the center of the island is perfect--I could easily stop to pick something up or run to the bathroom while en route from one part of the island to another. Also, it's close to the main road but on a street that's farther from the noisy and busy-ness of the main road. The house itself is very spacious and extremely clean. It's clearly had a lot of thought put into preparing it for guests, and everything is comfortable and well laid-out. The washer and dryer are new and better than the ones I have at home. The backyard is large and the little patio was great for stargazing. I easily could've spent way longer here. The one thing that would eventually get old is the lack of a full stand-up shower, but Lisa is clear about this in the description and, besides, it's a nice excuse to luxuriate in a bath while on vacation. Communication was fast and helpful leading up to, during, and after my stay. And it's such a great value. Highly recommended. I will absolutely stay here again if I am back in the area, which I really hope I am!

Salty Towers is a unique accommodation facility owned by adventurous souls Deb Farlow & James Steel. The main house has 10 rooms of various sizes. Rooms are capable of sleeping between 1 and 4 people. Please check each room description for details. This listing lets guests choose one or more rooms at once. Convenient if two or more travellers want separate rooms. If guests have pets or want a larger space we may opt to accommodate them in a studio apartment.
Salty Towers has been called a Chateau Alternatato by some and is certainly not for everyone. It is more of a guest house/hostel than traditional B&B. It is certainly not sophisticated or high end! Rooms are not huge, nor are any two alike. The building is a 170 year old former Sea Captain's home. It became a boarding house in 1918 and then a summer accommodation facility - The Seaside Inn - in 1921, operated by the captain's daughter Marjorie, who ran it for 68 years. We purchased the property after her death in 1994 and reopened it as Salty Towers. In addition to family and other guests we have two cats, Kyle and Moustache who come and go as they please. They generally keep to themselves. We do not serve meals but have kitchen facilities for guests to use if needed. We are up in the morning with coffee and tea for those needing a liquid start to their day.
St. Andrews is our neighbourhood. The town is basically 13 blocks long by 6 blocks wide. We are 4 blocks from the centre of town .... shops restaurants, wharf etc. From the porch we see the harbour and the daily passing of a myriad of people walking. The town is an incredible place. There are scores of things to do without having to get in your car. Art, music, sea life, kayaking, sailing, hiking, great food, architecture, galleries, museums, interesting people....
  • This house is right next to the water and on the main strip. You can step out the front door and walk down to all the cute boutiques and cafes and restaurants. The house is the perfect old character house, perfect for any type of stay you are looking for.

    Justine2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, shabby chic, comfortable, well appointed, perfect location and clean. Creative upcycling of decor items (a saw blade holder as kitchenette towel holder, birch slab with bark still attached as a shelf). If you care about glitz and glamour, this isn't a place for you. But if you want low key and quiet in a place that feels like the old family place on the ocean were the hosts are warm and welcoming, this is the perfect place. We loved it.

    Deborah2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a basic place to stay with great character, this is the place for you! I would definitely stay there again. James was great in communicating with me for my later than expected arrival time.

  • Really nice and nice!

    Sue2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Salty Towers was awesome and Jamie was a great host. Such a nice guy! He gave us recommendations for dinner and breakfast, and told us where we could get some things we were looking for at the different stores in town. Salty Towers is located within walking distance of the downtown area/the harbour, which was perfect. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Saint Andrews! Thanks again Jamie 😊

    Jess2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Salty Towers. Jamie is a great host, and the house has so many unique and eclectic components. Our family of four slept great on the comfy beds listening to the rain through our open windows. Jamie also gave us great suggestions for bike riding. If we are ever back in Saint Andrew, and I hope we are, we would love to stay there again.

    Megan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive, accurate description of the area and house, great recommendations for dog friendly restaurants.

It was perfectly clean, with everything we needed at our disposal. On top of which, Sherry and Gordie were perfect hosts. We strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside holiday. Thanks again!

  • The cottage cannot be in a nicer setting nor any closer to the water! We could hear the waves on shore, had a nice covered front porch, fished off the dock, had a fire ring (hosts provided firewood & kindling), grilled seafood on the grill & went canoeing on the lake right from the property. The location at the end of a dirt drive was nice and private. The hosts were more than gracious and available for anything/questions/suggestions. We loved our stay & would recommend the place to anyone!

Lovely waterfront home on the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick. Has 2 bedrooms and full bath downstairs, and loft accessible by ladder with 1/2 bath and sleeping for 5 more. Vaulted ceiling. Panoramic view. Electric heat. Private setting, but close to island amenities.
Readers Digest has rated Grand Manan as one of the best small islands in the world to visit. At Rugosa Rose Cottage you are minutes away from some of the best whale watching in the world, the beautiful Anchorage Provincial Park and bird sanctuary with its sandy beaches and boardwalk hiking trails. Take a boat ride to see the puffins at Machias Seal Island. A 10 minute ride on your bike will take you to Newton's Mercantile & Cafe, although we won't be responsible for what happens when you discover their ice-cream! Finish off the day dining on fresh lobster. Then visit one of the island light-houses to watch the sunset.
  • Love the vibe on Grand Manan & Esther’s cottage was such a great place to stay! Beautiful, private spot- right on the water. Sunrise there is lovely!

    Sheryl2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, open, lovely, private; this is a place worth your vacation time.

    David2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful vacation. We enjoyed being able to watch the rhythm of the tides and the activities of nature as it unfolded around us whether in bright sunshine or east coast fog. Day and night there were reminders of the majesty of God's creation. Grand Manan is such a wonderful place to refocus and reframe priorities. The Rugosa Rose Cottage is very comfortable and decorated with beautiful examples of local and regional art and crafts. It was great to be surrounded by photography and other art of the shore, life on the island and the whales. The site is very private but has great views of cove of Grand Harbour. There are comfortable amenities for relaxing indoors and out. The kitchen is well supplied with equipment to do a wide variety of cooking and baking. Bedrooms are a good size and beds are very comfortable. As the cottage is located close to the middle of the island it is easy to get to all parts of the island to enjoy the sites and the food. In so many ways a wonderful vacation property.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful location and sparkling clean house. The house offers amazing sunrises, lots of amenities, comfortable furniture, and a sparkling clean atmosphere. We were more than comfortable and felt welcome. Check-in was easy and Esther was always available for questions. The only negative thing we have to say is that we couldn't stay longer. Highly recommend this beautiful house.

  • Cozy and quaint cottage on a beautiful property. We had mostly rainy weather during our stay but we made the most of it and look forward to returning to have even more fun in better weather. The cottage is very well equipped. Lots of outdoor space for the kids to play and a small swing set which they made great use of! Was surprised it had wifi and feared my kids would just want to be online and playing video games but something about the place brought out the child in all of us. Great place for families!

    Courtney2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in an awesome location with excellent views of the bay. Central location that made it convenient for my island adventure. The cottage was clean and furnished with everything one would need to enjoy a simple overnight or multiple day stay on Grand Manan . It had a fully stocked kitchen and there was even coffee, tea, sugar and whitener in the cupboards. Crisp linens and plenty of towels were also a nice touch! I highly recommend this cottage for any couple or group of friends looking for a well appointed and perfectly located spot to explore Grand Manan!

  • Be sure you leave time to sit on the porch at Neva's house. It is lovely. It is a beautiful island. Know there is very little food options in the fall. The beaches are gorgeous! Neva is extremely helpful.

  • Whales, seals, Harbor porpoise.. awesome views and an all round great experience.

    John2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The entire experience at this wonderful place was amazing! The house is spotless! Neva is an amazing host and has lots of information to offer about anything and everything on the island! The spot that this home is located on is fantastic! I watched whales from the front porch for about an hour! I highly recommend this place!!

  • Beautiful location... even the fog! Neva was informative and helpful. Lodgings were spotless. We hope to return.

  • The house was more beautiful than I expected. The great room had a large window overlooking the bay, and its knotty pine walls gave it a warmth. One thing I worry about is cleanliness, and the place was sparkling clean. We have never have been to Campobello before, and this was just suppose to be a stop on the way home. To our surprise, it was such a beautiful island with so much to do that we ended up staying another day. We wouldve never known so much about the island if it wasnt for Neve. Neve had a island map, and she showed us all to see and do. We joked how Campobello should have her at the bridge greeting and explaining the island to all entering. Very nice and clean, and I will return.

    Tony2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Neva is a fantastic host and the views from her house are gorgeous! She gave us really great tips for enjoying the island, which is a nature paradise.

    Jill2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Was so pleased with a one day stay last year, we returned for two nights this year. Highly recommend Neva as a host and rate the property highly in all regards.

    Chris2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful setting on the island looking towards Eastport Maine. Perfect for sunsets And total relaxation We loved our visit and will be back again for sure. Neva is so knowledgeable about the island. A joy to listen to

  • Michael and his furry companion, Grace greeted us right away at the amazing Dominion Hill BnB. The home and our room was beautiful and sparkling clean. Very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was lovely in a shared dining room. We didn’t use all that Dominion Hill offered because we were tired from a long drive, but you could spend several days there and be very comfortable. 500 stars!

  • Very quiet, clean, and comfortable, perfect for a stopover on our way through the area. It was also very nice to be close enough to St Andrews that we could go in for dinner on the deck with our dog at The Gables. Enjoyed our stay, warm hospitality of the host and his dog, and breakfast with fellow travelers

  • Dominion Hill was a welcome stop on our recent drive to (and then from) Nova Scotia. Michael, Jennifer, and Bill were warm and welcoming to us and to our two dogs. The warm hospitality and lovely inn helped to make our trip enjoyable.

  • The space was exactly what we needed for the evening. Warm shower, cozy bed, and even though we didn’t take advantage of them, there were amenities such as a hot tub, a shared refrigerator, mountain bikes, and breakfast!

    Elizabeth2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in a lovely cabin on the property. It had a sitting room with cable TV and an old-style record player that really works. The second room with a comfortable king bed and a bathroom has a small sitting area in a back nook. The place was very nice and clean. We hope to return in the future and try out the hot tub!

The Upper House is a unique 140 year old country farmhouse, nestled on a hillside overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, surrounded by rolling hills, woods and tranquility. Our summer home is the perfect rustic escape for families and friends. Spend hours relaxing on the front veranda, meander through blueberry fields, or take a short walk to the beach to watch the highest tides come and go. In the evening, get cozy in front of the fireplace.
The house has been well loved and lived in, first by Senator Gillmore as a summer home, followed by his descendants. It is surrounded by woods and fields which overflow with blueberries in August summer. We are renting the house 'as is' - basic amenities. The quiet secluded location, fields, forests and beach are the Upper House's true gems!
Enjoy a family owned stone beach within walking distance, lake swimming at Lake Utopia, 10 min away by car, or day trip to the beautiful sandy New River Beach.

  • Wow what a beautiful spot! This lovely oceanfront home has views from every window. There's a nice yard with easy access to the shoreline and even a tree swing that our daughter enjoyed.. Our family of 5 had the house to ourselves with plenty of room for all. The beds were very comfortable and the newly remodeled 2nd floor bathroom is very nice. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal. Our favorite part was having coffee on the deck in the morning sun overlooking the bay, just spectacular.

  • Great location and great host. Cottage is very well equipped. Wade is a pleasure to speak with and the food at the takeout up the hill (run by Wade’s wife) is also excellent. Will definitely be back and will be staying for multiple nights next time.

    Brad2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Hathway Cove Cottages was great! Wade was an excellent host, we even got to experience his band in action. The location is beautiful and the kids loved the hot tub and the blow up castle!

    Jenny2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is rustic but in great location & beds comfortable so good night's sleep. You look out onto water through big windows. Lovely to watch sunset & birds. Wade very friendly & we had good dinner from his wife's takeout.

    Rosalind2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What you need to know about Wade is: outstanding hospitality. He was amazing at attending to our requests, even after having to get everything ready for us after a pretty big group had stayed there the night before our arrival. It really IS amazing to look out of your front window and see the ocean right there...50' away. If you're looking for a family-friendly place to stay (the hot tub was great!) or a place simply to rest, relax, and recuperate, as you watch the sunrises and sunsets across the islands, Hathaway Cottages is most definitely the place to go.
