Holiday Rentals in Capitol Hill, Fort Lesley J. McNair

Just booked in Capitol Hill, Fort Lesley J. McNair

Enjoy your stay in DC in a small, cute, sunny, private cottage with a kitchenette, cable tv, and a private full bath. Located in a quiet neighborhood convenient to The National Mall, The Capitol Building, and great restaurants.
Private cottage with private entrance features a queen bed, private bath, cable tv, a kitchenette, WiFi, heating and cooling controlled by you and clean towels, sheets and bedspreads. This is a very small house and in order to maximize the storage possibilities the bed is about a foot higher off the floor than a regular bed. We have a stool to help you but if this will be a problem you may want to look into another place to stay. Conveniently located to Union Station, The Capitol Building, The National Mall, H Street/Atlas District, Eastern Market, great restaurants, and public transportation. Most of these locations are easily walkable or if you prefer to bike or take public transportation that is convenient too. This cottage is in our backyard. We have a table and fire pit in the backyard that you are free to use if we are not. There is a field behind our house where we and many other neighbors enjoy playing soccer. We have 3 kids ages 6 - 9. Check In is at 2pm. Check Out is at 11am. If you arrive early and would like to leave your bags in our storage room let us know and we can work that out!
Capitol Hill is a very family friendly, walkable neighborhood. There is a field behind our house where neighbors enjoy playing soccer. We are walking distance to a few parks, Eastern Market, H St./Atlas District and some great restaurants.
  • Linden is a great host. I informed her about my early arrival. I asked if I could store my bags with her (since I'd be arriving before check-in time) but she graciously allowed us to check in a little early. The tiny house is exactly as pictured. It's clean and bright. The bed is very firm and I slept like a baby! It's just perfect for two people. The neighborhood is great for walking around in and exploring the city. We walked to bullfrog bagels which was recommended by linden and they were delicious. Unfortunately, I had to use uber a lot for my trip because I only had 2 days for my visit but I could've easily biked around the city as her place is very close to a Capitol bike share. She made sure my sister and I were comfortable and I'm so glad I stayed there. Do yourself a favor and book your stay in the Tiny House if you're ever in D.C.

  • Linden was a fantastic host. Very accommodating and extremely helpful. Her and her family made us feel right at home! Couldn't reccommend enough.

  • We loved The Tiny House! Thank you so much. We felt so at home and it was the perfect place to explore Washington. Pootling around on the city bikes was our favourite and H street was perfect for dinners out. Thanks again

  • LOVE the tiny house! Linden was great and very responsive the entire trip. Location is a short uber ride away from Capitol Hill, Downtown, U and H street. Plenty of space in the tiny house, even with 2 people. I highly recommend Linden's spot to any traveler or couple visiting DC!

  • This was our first Airbnb stay and we had a great experience. Dick is incredibly responsive and thought of pretty much everything to help our trip go smoothly! We were quite comfortable with our two young children.

    Laura2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location away from the action but close enough to walk or take the metro too. Owners were awesome and provide all the info you need. They even had some metro cards for us to use.

  • Excellent location for touring D.C., especially on Capital Bikes, and very well equipped (even had sharp knives!). Coupled with a friendly, very helpful host, this place is perfect for a couple. The bathroom being "down the hall" was no problem at all. Highly recommended!

  • Excellent communication with hosts, great place to stay, easy to get around the city, and all around fantastic place. I'll definitely try to stay there next time I'm in town.

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and I have to admit...we were a little nervous about it. Dick was a wonderful host and immediately made us feel welcome upon our arrival. My husband and I, and our two teenage daughters, had plenty of room. Even though there was an air mattress available, the girls ended up sleeping comfortably on the sectional sofa. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Even walked down to Lincoln Park (one block away) a couple of times. We had planned on using public transportation but after we got there we ended up taking Uber everywhere. We were really only at the apartment at night and didn't even see Dick for the majority of our stay but he checked on us via text to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place and will certainly be booking it again if/when we return to D.C.

  • The room was great and just as advertised. Clean, quiet, well appointed, and perfectly located to see the D.C. area. Metro stops, restaurants, multiple bodegas, and more were all within 10-15 minutes walk. We would stay here again the next time we come to D.C.

  • Strategic location, super clean with a private bathroom. All communications from Scott & Maggie were professional and prompt. Would stay here again and would highly recommend!

  • Scott is a great host, and his place is wonderful! Easy check-in process! Great location! We will certainly consider booking Scott's place again in the future.

  • A very safe and comfortable place to stay in D.C. My girlfriend and I found the bed, and room in general, to be very comfortable. I recommend Scott's and would stay again if the opportunity arose.

    Sean2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, Scott was just a fantastic host. He was personable, flexible, and prompt in his communications. Scott's place was also perfect. It's in a wonderful, safe location that was easy to find and just a few minutes' walk to Capitol Hill. I explored the entire mall on foot from Scott's place, and was able to walk to Union Station on my way out. In addition to the great location, the space is exactly as advertised. The room is fully equipped, including a big screen tv, comfortable bed and pillows, private balcony and bathroom, and seemingly every toiletry humanity has ever known. Very impressive. Ultimately I would love to stay here again.

  • We went for Memorial Day weekend and the location of this property is great. Just steps from the capitol but also close to Starbucks and other local cafe's or restaurants. The neighborhood was quiet and so was the street. Elliot was a wonderful host and was so great with communication about checking in and checking out or any other questions I had. I did not have any issues whatsoever and the studio was just the right size and super clean as well. You could not go wrong with this place. I would definitely stay here again.

    Margaret2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Appartement amazingly close to the capitol and very convenient and comfortable. The Area is very quiet and typical, I also recommend Elliot for his kindness and his quick answers. Un appartement pratique et Confortable et vraiment à côté du capitole, magique! Le mall est à portée de main et Elliott est un hôte gentil et disponible. Je recommande !

  • Gorgeous semi-basement near by center of D.C., easy parking on the street. Extremely comfortable large room.

    Michael2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Elliot is a super host and he proved it! His communication was terrific. He guided me to a parking lot that was nearby and saved me about $50! He also gave me a late night burger recommendation that I completely "hit the spot" after a long day/night of travel and meetings! The apartment is a little on the older side but it was super clean and everything worked perfectly.. The location is key! It is steps from the Capital and you can walk everywhere. I hope to stay here again when I return to D.C.. Thanks Elliot!

  • Overall a great stay, Lee was super helpful in the check in, and the location is awesome. I just wish the picture showed that it's not furnished, but it's a simple place and if you're out and about it's not a bad choice for the price

    Joshua2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place worked great for our family vacation to D.C. It was in a nice quiet neighborhood which was great after a day filled with walking to come back to and relax.

  • This is a spacious and clean apartment in the beautiful and central Capitol Hill neighbourhood. Great if you're in DC on business, although currently not quite cozy enough for a romantic getaway. Good-sized kitchen but hardly any cookware, crockery, or silverware, so you can't really do any cooking if that's what you like to do when travelling. Communication with Lee was very easy.

Beautiful row house suite located in the heart of an iconic DC neighborhood. Enjoy plenty of privacy and natural light. Walking distance to the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, historic Eastern Market, restaurants, and Metro.
Located on the second floor of a brick row house in the iconic DC style, the private suite includes a queen bed, sofa bed and a full bathroom. The unit consists of three rooms: a large living area with TV, mini fridge, microwave, work area, seating, and pull-out sleeper sofa; a bedroom with queen bed and desk; and a full bathroom with toilet, shower, and double vanity.
Situated in DC’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, the suite is within short walking distance of the Capitol Building, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and the National Mall. Capitol Hill is home to dozens of restaurants, shops, and historic Eastern Market.
  • Easy to access the room at all hours. There was street noise in this room due to bed being against street side wall. Not traffic noise but anyone outside talking and upstairs people walking etc. Wish we had option of fan for white noise here. Great fridge and bathroom and nice bay windows with dining table.

    James2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect suite in an ideal location! Communal kitchen/living room were very nice as well. Really enjoyed running in the neighborhood and walking to the Eastern Market and down to the National Mall. And - bonus for me! - I was delighted to see an aerial image of my alma mater in the hallway upstairs :) Great place to stay!

  • Thank you Darob and Nico for hosting my friends! Your place is nice, spacy and clean - they enjoyed their stay at Washington DC. The communications are nice too. I appreciate it!

    Weimin2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The description was accurate. The building, front yard garden, and room were all beautiful. We were about a 6 minute walk from the metro, and right across the street from Eastern Market. The room was well furnished, the bed super comfortable, and the shower is awesome. The bathroom has 2 sinks, so no waiting while your SO does makeup in the mirror. The kitchen is well stocked with amenities and a Keurig machine, complete with complimentary k-cups for morning pick-me-ups. In the bedroom, our hosts provided us with towels, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There was a hair dryer in our room as well which was a great surprise because we forgot to pack ours. Despite all the awesome, there were two minor problems that stood out. The curtains in the room don't block light well, and the entire room is bright very early in the morning. If you're the type or person that wants to get up at 8am or earlier to conquer the world, that might work very well for you! Also, there's a vent above the bed that leads directly into the apartment upstairs. This means that you can hear your upstairs neighbor stomping around, as well as their important 1AM phone calls, in perfect clarity. I hope you managed to get ahold of "Linda" after all, guy upstairs! Overall the experience was great and the room was a perfect launching pad for checking out the city all weekend. If you're a light sleeper, maybe bring an eye mask and some ear plugs.

Capitol Hill is DC's largest residential historic district, known for its rowhouses, parks, and friendly, tight-knit community. This area is very walkable but you can also take the Metro or bus anywhere in the city. The U.S. Capitol and Library of Congress are a few blocks from the apartment, and you can walk or take Metro to the monuments and museums on the National Mall. There are also amazing restaurants in Capitol Hill, including Spike Mendelsohn's new casual eateries located just one block from the apartment.
  • This is a really nice room with one big bed, a bathroom, and a nice kitchen. The room is neat and clean. Natanya is a friendly host and she offers almost everything you need to stay there. There are two metro stations and a lot of restaurants nearby. Eastern Market is a ten-minute- walk and Capitol is beside the house. My two friends and I spent a week there and we really had a great time. The Wi-Fi didn't work very well in the beginning but it became better afterward. We really love the place and we had a great time there.

    Yen Cheng2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Natanya's place is an excellent location if you want to visit the Capitol. You are only a block and a half away from the Library of Congress - Madison Bldg and 2 1/2 blocks to the Orange Capitol Center. Eating is easy as there are a lot of places to eat in what appears to be a safe neighborhood. Natanya Thought of everything that you might need - from toiletries, to filtered drinking water in the ref and even an umbrella in case it rains. When you text or call her, she replies right away. Thanks for a lovely stay Natanya.

    Editha2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Natanya's flat is very nice and comfortable. A lot of information has been made available by Natanya from the neighborhood. If I come back to Washington, I would be happy to stay again at Natanya's place. Jerome

    Jerome2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Natanya's apartment is perfect for exploring the city. We really felt like we got the D.C. experience. The neighborhood is very safe, but you may get some outside noise into the apartment. We had a small issue when we first got there, but I was so impressed with Natanya's response. We will definitely come back next time we are inside the Beltway!

    Gary2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The space is lovely, and being really close to the Capitol South metro station was super convenient. The bed was VERY firm. I could have put a pillow topper on the hardwood floors and been about as comfortable. Otherwise, the space was clean. My primary concern was that the front door didn't seem very secure, it had obviously been breeched and instead of having the frame replaced, it was just reinforced with some thin metal and some padding. Not very reassuring. Obviously, being an apartment the host can't control that, but we had some concerns about it. The latches on the bathroom and bedroom can be temperamental, which was a little annoying but worked sufficiently. The bathroom door, even when latched, didn't offer total privacy. Natanya was very kind and helpful, she tried to offer us the parking spot because street parking near the apartment is basically impossible to find. We ended up spending close to $100 to park at Union Station because our SUV wouldn't fit in her garage. Having not been to D.C. before I wish that it would have been made a little more clear that parking would have been almost impossible so we could have budgeted more accurately to pay to park elsewhere. Overall, the space was clean and serviceable.

    Ian & Christina2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is fairly basic, in an old, straightforward apartment building, but inside its comfortable and clean. Amazing location though, on a beautiful residential street close to lots of attractions and restaurants.

Bright, welcoming and newly renovated this charming row house is situated across the street from the historic Eastern Market on "Capitol Hill." Live like a Washingtonian and shop, dine and "tour" like a local amongst the whose who of the Capof the United States. Home of two of DC's newly starred Michelin restaurant gems and the popular Barrack's of termed restaurant row.
The brand new five star hotel quality beds, luxury mattresses, hand selected lines and Ritz Carlton pillows all provide for dream like sleep. Your sleep matters to me. A relaxing brand new sectional sofa, 42" Tv with over 40 premium channels and business level High Speed WiFi. Decorated and curated with every aesthetic and physical comfort in mind for a world class Washington DC stay.
"Each retailer has its own personality" – from "ahh-mazing" fresh pastas, desserts and "locally grown" produce to cheeses, meat and poultry – at this "DC institution", a restored 1873 redbrick market on Capitol Hill whose "friendly environment" is perfect for "grabbing a bite" to enjoy at a sidewalk table; opinions differ about the prices ("reasonable" considering the "high quality" vs. "expensive"), but a craft fair outside on weekends adds to the reasons it's about "so much more than the food" here.
  • Truly a "gem" Had a lovely stay in the condo. Very short walk to metro and great restaurants. Fun neighborhood. Nicole was a prompt communicator.

    Jennifer2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location is very good. Quiet, but very close to the capitol hill and thus the national mall. Also a Trader Joe's that's 5-mins walk away just opened so it's very easy to get grocery. The only lesson we learnt was never drive your own car in DC if you don't live there. There's almost no all-day parking option around the apartment (you can park at the union station, $22 / day, but the fine for parking on the street is just $25). There's no parking spot associated to this apartment. Just don't drive.

    Zhuo2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay. Nicole was nice enough to be attentive. Minus a few mishaps with the shower and what seemed to be a sinking bed, the stay was very pleasant.

    Jonathan2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a extremely convenient, quaint, quiet, and very well provided for amenities this is your stop. Nicole is a great hostess. The location was superbly appropriate if you are looking to have ease of access to downtown Washington without being surrounded by hotels and massive building. The market is right next-door and with a great pubs, tasty restaurants, and cafés. If you can get our parking arrangements your life will be so easy. Washington is a rather serious place, as a Canadian I found it sometimes lacking in a sense of irony and humour, however, staying in this location takes the edge off of that. The National Gallery is within walking distance and that's all you need.

    Stefano2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great and the space is very nice and well appointed. Overall, a very good experience.

  • You will not be disappointed in ANY way! From initially stepping inside to sadly leaving after after 2 days. Quiet, clean, inviting, restful. But only 2 minutes walk from vibrant Eastern Market - coffee, restaurants, nightlife. Easy Metro access. Also comfotably walked to Capitol, etc. I hope it will be available to book again!

  • Great location, left us snacks, and building was as described.

    Austin2016-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Erin's apartment is very convenient and close to everything, walking distance to the US Capitol and many museums. The apartment fits us very well. It's clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen, a small dining area and a comfortable bed, etc. The building has washers and dryers in the basement which are easily used by coins. We met Erin when arrived and have been warmly welcomed by her. She gave us necessary instructions and prepared a great stay for us.

    Tran2015-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Erin is very nice and helpful in sorting out our housing arrangement. She is extremely patient and kind in helping us to adapt to the new environment. The house is perfect and cozy place to spend vacation on.

    Valerie2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome experience!! Erin was an amazing host, communication was seamless and fast! Her apartment is in a perfect location right across the street from the Supreme Court and Capitol building. Perfect space for a couple on vacation, and much more affordable compared to DC hotels! Building has an old historic feel and still very clean inside. Pictures are very accurate for living space and proximity to Supreme Court. Erin has everything you would get at a hotel and then some, including a welcome booklet with suggestions for touring and eating around town. Erin responded immediately on any requests or questions and was nice enough to work around our check in and check out times, very responsive. This was our first experience with Airbnb and I think I have high standards now after this wonderful experience. Thanks again Erin!

    Alexander2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I am grateful to have stayed at Erin's place! Clean, cute, comfortable and convenient! Plus close to great restaurants (FYI for Lynn ...There is 1.0 fam med opportunity for NP in proctor, internal med in Duluth, convenient care in superior and more....Roses Luxury...!!!). The umbrellas were tremendously helpful. Was a great experience, thank you.

  • We were blown away by the proximity of the Supreme Court and the U.S. Capitol! The apartment is on a great, quiet street and easily accessible. We slept great and had plenty of room for myself, my husband, and our daughter. Erin is a terrific host who goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable during your stay. She communicates well, and provides you with every detail. We look forward to returning!

    Sarah (Sally)2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in a great station and very safe area. It only takes 2mins walk to the Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court is just next door. Erin is a great host, keeps the apartment extremely clean and tidy. I and my bf can't complain about anything even though we are always picky about sanitation. She is also very considerate and caring. You would find all the info in detail with pictures about the apartment in the instruction book. In addition, Erin provides everything (shampoo, conditioner, body cleanser, toothpaste, hair dryer, etc) which make our stay much easier and cozier. We do appreciate the experience of staying at Erin's place.

Just blocks from the US Capitol, this modern 800sf 1BR basement apartment sleeps 4. A classic Victorian DC rowhouse updated with today's amenities. You’ll love the "small town in the city" feel of safe, leafy Capitol Hill and our convenient location: steps to Stanton Park, ~15 minutes' walk to the Capitol, Union Station, and Eastern Market. Restaurants and shops abound on Barracks Row and H Street NE. Perfect for couples (1 or 2), solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This "English basement" apartment in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood is a classic yet modern space, with enough room for two couples or a family to be comfortable. It has a roomy living room and dining area with plenty of light from a bayfront window and a sleeper sofa. Down the hall is a separate bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchen has a small bistro table for enjoying your morning coffee (from the Keurig, the french press, or espresso pot), and everything you need to cook a meal with fresh finds from nearby Eastern Market. Great restaurants in walking distance. Full bath with tub. Wifi available.
Capitol Hill is a beautiful, historic neighborhood with leafy streets that are wonderful to explore by foot. You'll find anything you need in walking distance: restaurants, bars, shops, and national landmarks like the Capitol & Supreme Court.
  • A really fantastic apartment in a great location. The host's attention to detail made for a very relaxing stay with absolutely no hassle. The apartment was spotlessly clean for our arrival and we had everything we needed (plus a few lovely treats from the hosts!). I would not hesitate to book this place again if and when we return to DC, and would 100% recommend it to friends.

    Max2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We have bit of difficulties in entering the building which partially was because of our fault, otherwise it has been a lovely stay and we definitely will recommend this to our friends. Lauren was very helpful even though she was out in the mountains with intermittent communication during the first days we arrived. We have no issue with that. The neighborhood is nice and Lauren's Guestbook had been helpful. The place itself is really nice, cozy and clean. All primary amenities are there and we can even use the kitchen the way we wanted in such a trip.

    Nirarta2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Lauren's apartment. It was so cute and cozy and I would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in DC!

    Roxanne2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Best Aibnb I've ever experienced. So cute, roomy, quiet, and just like your own home in the city. Lauren was very easy to communicate with. This neighborhood is very historical, beautiful, and safe. If I could add some stars to this review, I would. I will this house as part of my DC memories. Trust me, don't look any further. This is the place to stay if you are looking for a Capital Hill stay.

    Janice2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Lauren's place. It is in a cute neighborhood with lots of restaurants and small stores. Lauren had great communication and the house had everything we needed. We didn't open both sides of the hall closet the first day and contacted Lauren for more towels. She responded immediately, the closet had plenty along with many things we could use on our trip. They thought of everything. We took an Uber to the capitol every day for about $8, from DCA it was about $20.

    Danelle2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! I've stay at many airbnbs and this is right up there with the best of them. Great communication with the owner, attention to detail, and amenities (Parking pass, kitchen goodies, etc.). Great stay and choice for DC.

    Brian2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lauren and Chris were great hosts. They provided all the information we needed beforehand and were there to help during our stay. The neighborhood is adorable and the apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

    Clarice2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • All I have to say is WOW what a fantastic suite! It has everything you need to make your stay an enjoyable one. Centrally located with an easy walk to the Capital Building, H Street and public transit. The neighbourhood was so pretty and you always felt safe. Lauren and family live upstairs, but give you complete privacy and you hear very little noise above you. We would recommend this Air BnB to all our friends visiting DC as it is a rare gem and fantastic value!

Private bedroom with private bathroom in a gorgeous, modern Capitol Hill row home! Excellent location - less than a block from the Metro (Potomac Ave), grocery store (Harris Teeter) and playground. Spacious house with lots of natural light and outdoor patio area.
The bedroom is one of two bedrooms on the upper floor. The room has a built in closet, desk and windows that provide plenty of natural light. There is a full bathroom that is located just outside the bedroom door, which is reserved for our guests during their stay. The other bedroom on the upstairs floor, where we stay, is down the hall. The main floor has a small living room area with a TV, a dining area, kitchen as well as a half bathroom. The main floor also leads out to the back yard, which has a porch with a grill, fenced-in brick patio with table, chairs, and a chiminea. The basement has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom as well as a washer and dryer. The basement bedrooms are listed on Airbnb as well and may be occupied by other guests during your stay.
We are on the eastern side of Capitol Hill. Our home, literally a hop, skip and jump from the Potomac Ave Metro Station (Orange, Silver and Blue Line) - is in a residential area that is a quick walk to bars, restaurants, parks, and DC history. A Harris Teeter grocery store is a block away. There are two bars also just around the corner. Trusty's is an amazing dive bar, with schoolbus accents serving bar food and beer in mason jars. Wisdom is modern and sophisticated with cocktails to die for. Historic Eastern Market is about a 10-minute walk, where you can find locally-raised produce, cheese, meats, and fish, as well as dozens of restaurants, bars, and brunch spots, including the Michelin-starred Rose's Luxury and Pineapple and Pearls. Even closer is Bayou Bakery, serving New Orleans-style cuisine. In the other direction is historic Congressional Cemetery and the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail for running or bike riding. To stretch your legs a little bit more, you can take a walk along the Navy Yard/Waterfront boardwalk, or explore the National Arboretum which is about a 10 minute drive. And of course, the National Mall and all its museum and monuments are just a short metro ride away. For kids, there is a playground next door (accessible through the alley). For larger parks and playgrounds that are still walkable or a short Uber away, check out Lincoln Park, Marion Park.
  • My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Christopher and Ben. We felt welcome and comfortable from the first moment we met them, until the last. In fact, we felt like family! Christopher's accommodations were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and in the best location we could have been in, with public transportation a few steps from his home, to great restaurants a few moments walk away. We are already planning our trip for next year and will most definitely stay again with Christopher and Ben. I highly recommend this place for your stay in the D.C. area!

    Vivian Gail2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really great house with very friendly and accommodating host. It's an easy safe walk to the Capitol Hill building and rest of the Mall, and we also caught a bus back no problem. Would stay again without hesitation.

    Tim 2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher and Ben are a great duo and incredible hosts! They were extremely hospitable, providing us with advice for free parking, access cards for using the metro, suggestions for dining, and plenty of great conversation. The bed is so comfortable that you won't want to leave it, but if you do...there are eateries and shops a short walk away. We felt like this was a home away from home and would happily stay here again. Tell all of your friends!

  • Everything was as I expected and as it suppose to be.

  • Chris and Ben were great hosts! We were able to drop off our bags early before our room was ready, then received a text when it was so we could come back and take a nap. They were very knowledgeable about the area and were on point with food suggestions. The location is so close to public transportation and walkable to Capitol Hill. We would definitely stay here again!

  • This was our fourth Airbnb stay, and definitely the BEST one yet. The apartment is modern and spacious with a great location. The bed is firm and extremely comfortable. It was even better in person than in the pictures. Five stars all the way. Thanks, Matt and Leyla!

    Lynn2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Nicely decorated, clean, all your basic amenities and toiletries included!

    David2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Leyla and Matt's place is a cozy little ground floor unit in a neighborhood where it isn't too busy at night, which is great. (Don't haul your stuff upstairs to the second floor like I did - unit 2 is on the level where you walk in. Whoops - my bad!) Friendly neighbors (enough to say hi, but won't talk your ear off). Easily accessible and a short walk to almost everything you could want, but it also seemed like a rideshare service was never more than 2 min. away. Bonus! Plus a comfortable bed. Basically, a nice place to rest your head and tired feet at night after walking around DC all day, which is exactly what you need.

We came in early March and the apartment was a bit cold, but the host promptly provided enough radiators to help warm up the room. The beds are very comfy and you could ask for extra quilts/blankets if needed. Overall a good place to stay.

Stay at the Hill! Pretty and convenient apt in the iconic neighborhood featuring not only the Supreme Court and Congress, but a relaxed and homey vibe among Victorian row houses and lively commercial corridors like Barracks Row and H Street.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. It's a comfy 1-room, 1-bath apt at semi-basement level, independent entry. It has a queen bed in the bedroom and a single bed in the living area. Kitchen is particularly well-sized, there are scattered books which you're free to peek into, and a TV with AppleTV in the bedroom.
We're at the heart of the Historic District, beside Lincoln Park. Walking around is a treat by itself. Eastern Market is 6 blocks away for those who want to buy local or wander at the flea market; Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Capitol Building, Union Station and Folger Shakespeare Library are 10 blocks away. My advice for dinner out: "Lincoln Park Kitchen & Wine Bar" (just across the park), a cozy and gracious place with an extremely good kitchen. There's also plenty of good places at Penn Ave, H St and 8th St (Barracks Row), all nearby.

It is also perfect for anyone traveling with pets...our dog Beau loved Lincoln Park which was only a block away! • Really appreciated the quiet at this spot even with the communal setting! Well mannered guests. Hint: Bring a lock, there are lockers on site for use during your stay! There's a decent size common area in the dining area/kitchen--appreciated the tape for labeling grocery belongings. Handy. Loved the location, made my trip stress free. I will be back and recommending to others!

Live like a local! Super convenient, renovated English basement studio apartment in the historic district of Capitol Hill. Easy walking distance to two metro stops, Eastern Market, restaurants, the Capitol, and National's Stadium. Family-friendly!
We recently renovated our historic Capitol Hill home, including the bright and cozy English basement studio apartment, which will be your accommodations. English basements in this neighborhood are very common and house many of the politicians working just a few blocks away at the Capitol building. The space is a studio with a separate kitchen and can sleep up to four guests (approximately 600 sq feet). We have an organic Naturepedic queen bed, a sleeper sofa and a portable crib available. You'll have access to the entire apartment, it's all yours. We have a keyless door lock so check-in is a breeze and you won't have to worry about keys because there are none! Street parking is available and we can provide you with a visitor pass upon request. We love living on Capitol Hill and will make sure that you love your time here. We'd be happy to share our recommendations, tips, and help in any other way. We live upstairs with our three young kids in a completely separate unit, but you will probably hear little footsteps from time to time. We have three kids and rarely use our car so we chose to live in what we think is the most convenient, walkable, and family friendly neighborhood in Washington, DC. We love it and some of our favorite activities are: visiting Eastern Market and the shops and restaurants nearby, taking a short ride on the metro to enjoy the Smithsonian museums, going to one of the two playgrounds within a block of our house, exploring the new waterfront neighborhood with the baseball stadium, or just walking or biking around our neighborhood to look at the beautiful historic rowhouses. It's a quiet, charming neighborhood that's convenient for locals, tourists and business travelers. Eastern Market metro stop is about 3 blocks away and the Capitol South metro stop is about 4 blocks away. There's a bikeshare station a block away, which is a great way to see the city. We're easy to get to from Union Station or the airport, either by metro or taxi. Street parking is available and we can provide you with a visitor pass upon request. Also, there is a corner market only a few steps from our house that has a very good selection of the essentials. Instead of cable TV we have a Roku with Netflix and wifi access. Enjoy many of the free shows and movies or log into your own Amazon or Hulu account to stream. We also have a digital antenna, which gets all major networks (reception varies), and a DVD player.

  • We had a great time in Washington This place is perfectly situated, walkable to downtown if you're active but near the subway and capital share bikes ( which I would highly recommend) the area is lovely and has a great food choices. The apartment isn't huge but it's really well fitted out and you have everything you need. We'll definitely be back...thanks Keri

  • 4 of us stayed at Keri's place for the 4th of July and we loved it! The location is beautiful and we couldn't stop complimenting the gorgeous neighborhood...beautiful houses and subway near by with bars and restaurants a couple of blocks away. Next time we're in DC we will be back!

Stay in one of DC's most historic, elegant homes. Built in 1890, but with all modern amenities. Only 1 block to Cap South metro, 2 blocks to Capitol and Library of Congress, and 8 blocks to Eastern Market or Nats Stadium. You can't beat the location!
The unit is located on one of the most prestigious streets in all of DC, New Jersey Ave. This tree-lined street dead ends into the U.S. Capitol Building, only two blocks away. This 750 square foot English basement unit includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, a large living with two futons that fold out into full size beds and two twin fold out beds. You'll also find a full-kitchen, with oven, microwave, stove, and cooking supplies. Moreover, you have access to a large tranquil backyard, to get some R&R after hitting all the nearby sites. Parking available for flat service fee.
Capitol Hill is one of the city’s most popular places to visit, with 19th-century rowhouses and a market plus a vibrant dining and nightlife scene. Tourists head to the neighborhood both for its government buildings like the U.S. Capitol and the Supreme Court and the surrounding historic, walkable, restaurant-filled blocks. Tour the U.S. Capitol via its impressive visitors center; guides lead small groups under the intricately painted, 180-plus-foot dome and past the dimly lit Old Supreme Court Chamber. You’ll need a reservation for the tour or to visit Congress or the Senate (when they are in session); for the latter, just contact your senator or house representative. Nearby, the Library of Congress’ impressive 1897 Thomas Jefferson building is open for tours that reveal its Italian-Renaissance style architecture and gilt murals plus the stunning, circular main reading room with its 160-foot-high ceiling. Other attractions include the Folger Shakespeare Library (the world’s largest collection of the author's timeless works), and the glassed-in U.S. Botanic Garden at the base of Capitol Hill, which holds palms, ferns and orchids and provides a peaceful escape. Nineteenth and early 20th-century rowhouses (think turrets, stained glass and ironwork) lead to throwback commercial zones. Eastern Market, an 1873 redbrick building houses grocers, bakers and pasta makers inside every day plus a lively weekend bazaar with produce, crafts and antiques. The nearby micro-neighborhood of Barracks Row centers on 8th Street SE, where vintage storefronts hold oyster houses, pubby bars and foodie-focused restaurants. Closer to the Capitol, Massachusetts Avenue NE has multiple restaurants and longtime watering holes. Courtesy of Washington.org
  • Travis is a super nice host, he gave us everything we needed, the house is clean and convenient. It is the best airbnb experience I had so far.

    Ziyi2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Travis was a great communicator, only he failed to mention that he and his family would be staying at their residence while we were in town. Because of the hardwood floors above and thin walls, we were awoken every morning at 6 am to a baby crying, and dogs barking outside. My party and I have all stayed at different air bnbs across the country and we have never had a family stay in their residence while it was rented out. This ruined my bachelorette weekend and all of my good memories I should have had. The location and space were great but unfortunately we felt like step children in the basement rather than being accommodated.

    Caitlin2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment! We were able to park our car right in front and either walked or hopped on the metro (1.5 block walk) to get everywhere. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen adequate for our brfst/snack needs, and the BEST shower! The water was hot and the shower pressure perfect after our 10-12 hour days walking D.C! I would definitely recommend this (in fact already have!) apartment, and plan on staying here the next time I come to D.C. Lastly, the extra pillows and blankets for the futon beds were very nice. My two teenagers were very impressed with the comfort and quality.

    Melinda 2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable stay and very spacious! Friendly hosts. Wonderful central neighborhood with straight shot to the capital - gorgeous view at night.

  • Great location! Travis was a great host, would recommend staying here.

    Robert2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment! Perfect location for Capitol Hill, only two blocks walk to metro. Very clean and nicely appointed. Travis arranged a parking pass which was really helpful. Would definitely stay again!

    Eric2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment. Beautiful area. Five minute walk to Metro. Travis is very responsive to questions. Things to note: 1) There are not really any restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance of the apartment. 2) You must have a parking permit to park for free in front of the apartment. To get the permit, you must let Travis know you will have a car at least one week before your stay. Otherwise, you will have to pay for parking ($2.15/hr), and the paid parking is a block away from the apartment. 3) If you are a light sleeper, you may have a hard time sleeping with the variety of noises the heating system makes. Unfortunately, the system is located in a closet in the bedroom.

    Jeremy2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • I'm writing a review because I know how much reading reviews helps me make my choice. The reasons why I chose this place lived up to my expectations: value, location, number of beds and number of bedrooms. The metro station was very close which was a huge plus for traveling as a family. Plus, the capitol is so so close! It was fun to have a view of it just at the end of the street! Travis and his wife were very friendly. We left in the morning and came home after dinner each night so we didn't hear them much (which, based on reviews was my biggest concern). One night they had some friends over, but they left before our kids went to bed. I felt they were very courteous about the noise. The only negatives about the whole place is just the age of the bathroom and a couple issues in the kitchen. Very minor negatives!! The bathroom functions fine!! It is clean!! It's just that due to age the bathroom has some staining in places that made it feel unclean. The kitchen would have been better if it had 4 chairs rather than three bar stools. The apartment has enough sleeping for 4-6, so we would have liked to been able to all sit together. Plus, after a long day of walking and sightseeing, I'd prefer to have some chairs to sit in rather than stools. Also, the only coffee maker is a keurig. I bought ground coffee before we arrived assuming a standard coffee maker. It would have been nice to have a Keurig-style coffee ground basket so my grounds could have been used. Tip::: Safeway delivers groceries. So if you're staying for long enough that you'll need groceries purchas online and have them deliver! Also: the parking tag costs $50 which I didn't realize. All in all, I recommend this place! Location, size, value. Plus, clean and friendly. Can't beat it!

A full kitchens mean no need to eat out for every meal. Kitchen includes: Gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and full size fridge. This is a basement apartment in a historic row home, and some sound does carry from the upstairs. A family lives above and has young children. While they make every effort to keep the noise to a minimum, you may hear activity and footsteps in the mornings and evenings. Overnight is very quiet. Most guests are not bothered at all, however, if your plans require complete silence, a basement apartment may not be the best fit.
Capitol Hill is DC's largest residential community. The historic district offers a lovely backdrop for exploring DC with its shaded sidewalks and community feel. Located smack dab next to many of the best attractions in the city, as well as, many of the best entertainment options.

The apartment is extremely clean and comfortable and Lylla has gone the extra mile to provide the "extras" that making travelling easier (coffee, toiletries). She is a very thoughtful hostess. And the location is perfect--within walking distance of some great restaurants as well as Capitol Hill. Would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a wonderful stay in DC and Lylla's place was a large part of this. The location is wonderful, easy to access by metro and bike share, or we did mostly walking and were able to see most of the sites. Lylla was very friendly and helpful. If you are not used to apartment living then the sound of footsteps above may take some getting used to. Overall, we loved our stay.

Lylla thought of every detail to make our stay feel like a home away from home. She was also helpful in recommending places to visit as well as just being a cultured and friendly person to get to know :) It was a perfect experience for our first visit to D.C. and we will definitely come back in the future. Thank you so much Lylla!

  • Fantastic apartment and location just a few blocks from the Mall and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Our stay would have been 5 stars across the board, however when we arrived, the apartment was not ready. There were not clean linens for 2 of the 3 beds and since we arrived late on a Sunday night, it was not fixed until Monday. This being said, the host was very apologetic and we all had fresh linens by the time we returned after our stroll around DC the next morning. I truly believe that it is a problem with the cleaning service that the host uses, and not reflective of the host, however, we hope they get the quality assurance issues resolved. All in all, a great stay for us in DC. Would recommend.

    Wen2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here over Easter weekend with our 4 small kids. It really is a lovely little neighborhood of townhouses. It's close to a school, parks, and just felt really nice and safe. The place is fairly small, but if you have a larger family like us, anything beats a tiny hotel room! We just needed enough beds. 2 metro stops are within an 8 minute walk in opposite directions. Lots of food within about 8 minutes as well. Cute little (slightly expensive) market on the corner across the street. Everything was very clean and tidy. Seems well maintained. Our biggest issue was parking. All the street parking is residential permit parking only. I think across the street you could leave your car for 2 hours, but that wasn't really an option when you wanted to leave it for a few days and use public transport. Maybe it's something that isn't really enforced, but it wasn't worth the risk to us. We lucked out and found a place on the street 4-5 blocks away, but it was definitely not convenient. Hopefully they will add a set of sheets for the fold down futon downstairs. That was the only thing that seemed to be "missing" from inside. Really, other than that, we had very few issues. A clean place to sleep was the most important thing and we had that!

    Sarah2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we needed in a very convenient location with a little market at the street corner for snacks and drinks. Great place, would stay there again!

  • We had an incredible time in D.C.! John really did a lot to contribute to that. From start to finish everything was easy! John got back to us right away when we had questions while booking. Upon arrival he met us at the door, helped with my bag, and gave us a quick tour. He told us he would be available for anything we needed. The apartment was extremely clean, quiet, and John had even stocked the refrigerator with bottled water, wine, pop, and some breakfast food items. There were also some other snacks on the table! There was also a personalized letter that gave us instructions on how everything worked as well as some suggestions for food in the area. On the day of checkout we also received a thank you card! The whole experience was exceptional! We would book with John again in a heartbeat if we were ever to travel to D.C. again!! Thank you so much for everything!

  • GREAT place which made our first D.C. experience a great one. John and Jennifer were very accommodating - saved a parking spot in front of the building, welcomed us to a well-stocked fridge, provided excellent recommendations, and let us store our luggage in their home after checkout. Perfect location!

  • John is the best host I have ever met. very kind hearted. We will give his house a five star level, we also strongly recommended to everyone. John provided fruits, water, yogurt, towers and snacks for us, even helped with the parking place. John and jennifer concerned and gave timely response for every request of us, which offered warm feeling as the same as our home in the storm. We wanted to stay more days and give another visit if we have the chance. By the way, The position of this house is excellent for visitors, and it is convenient for market and food. Thanks for the concern in the storm, the forgiveness for our mistake, and the cherry outside the door.

  • This place exceeded our expectations! The location is ideal - you can walk, catch an uber, or grab a community bike to get to the National Mall in minutes. We felt safe walking and biking at night and in fact, one evening we took the bikes with our children right down from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial. The apartment was very clean & great for our family of 5 with comfy beds and beautiful linens. John and his family made us feel like welcomed guests. We would defiantly recommend this apartment and would stay here again.

  • This was hands down the best AirBNB I've ever stayed in!!! My mom and I enjoyed a weekend getaway, and it was better than I expected. The keypad entry was very convenient, the apartment was immaculate and the bedding was extremely comfortable. The extra touches like a stocked fridge, chocolate and water was really thoughtful, and saved us from stopping for breakfast on our busy mornings. John had a great welcome guide which spelled out local restaurants, stores, and tips for getting around the city. This was the first AirBNB I have stayed at, too, which actually had cable TV. John was very welcoming and responsive, and I will happily stay here again.

  • John is the best host that I've ever met! He is generous and kind. His place is neat, clean and comfortable. My family had a wonderful time staying at Washington and they had some great words for the host as followings "热情大方迎客人,厅房家具洁且新;谁人游玩华盛顿,最好选此为旅居。" We all highly recommend this place for all the visitors who want to find a great place to stay in Washington. Thank you John! We wish you all the best!

  • Molly's place is really cozy as it seen on the picture..super clean, tidy, and cute too.. we feel very welcomed by Molly as she explained and gave us a house tour. The kitchen is well stocked and we're really grateful for that. Another pluses are our kids've been entertained by netflix and kidschannel which are available on the tv, the internet connection is also fast and steady. Molly's place's situated near our main destination in DC,the Smithsonian museum that is. Cheers Molly!! Thank you very much for having us.. (Putri&Alva)

  • Joey and Molly welcomed us and gave tips on surrounding areas including help planning our itinerary. The breakfast, wines, chocolates and fresh flowers are a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Nice clean apartment and about 20 minutes walk to the Capitol. We parked our van in the back alley during our stay, so saved on parking fee and hassle of parking elsewhere. Nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. Highly recommend this place.

  • I cannot recommend the "Wonk on the Hill" highly enough! My husband and I have had good experiences using airbnb before, but never have we been treated with such hospitality! Molly and her husband Joe were absolutely wonderful hosts and their apartment was perfect for my family of 4. Molly is a gem who truly puts the "B&B" into airbnb! A few days before our arrival, she sent me an email asking if my family had specific requests for breakfast items. I was late in getting back to her, but she generously filled the waiting refrigerator anyway, leaving us with a great assortment of food and drink (including a bottle of wine and a bowl full of Dove chocolates... by day 2, we had devoured the chocolate). It was such a considerate gesture and it saved us from having to shop. We arrived close to midnight (a parking space was provided in the back alley) and struggled to lock our unfamiliar rental car. Molly came out to turn on an extra light and to see if she could lend a hand. From the moment she came to our rescue, I knew I liked her, and upon opening the door to her rental, I knew we had chosen well. The apartment was fantastic! Despite the oppressive heat outside, it was refreshingly cool and comfortable inside. Clean, new, attractive. A fully appointed kitchen, nice sized bathroom (with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided), a bedroom with a very comfortable bed and a pull-out sleeper couch in the living area (perfect for our kids). Molly had already set up the sleeper and had even turned down the covers. I felt like we were visiting family! We had never been to D.C. before and we came to explore as much as we could in 5 days. Because "Wonk on the Hill" was within reasonable walking distance to the National Mall (about 15-20 minutes), we decided to do our exploring on foot. We happened to come during an incredibly muggy, energy-zapping heatwave. Being from Oregon, we rarely experience east coast type humidity. Seeing us leave the apartment headed for the Mall on our first morning, Molly took pity on us. She came out and said "I just can't let ya'll walk down there in this heat. Let me give you a ride". Did I mention that Molly's a gem?! We so appreciated her kindness and generosity (and she's fun, to boot)! I think she needs to add tour guiding to her repertoire! We had a great time in D.C. spending our days exploring and being wowed by sights we'd always wanted to see. By the end of each day, however, we were exhausted. It was such a comfort and pleasure, knowing that each night we would be returning to our perfectly homey, air-conditioned "home away from home". While I have high praise for our accommodations, I can't say enough about our hosts. Molly and Joe are so friendly, communicative and generous. They gave us space,...

  • The location was within walking distance of Capitol Hill, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. Host made check-in super easy and supplied great array of teas and other breakfast items to make it easy in the morning. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

  • Molly and her family were quite possibly the most friendly and accommodating Airbnb hosts I've ever experienced. She stocked the fridge, and was responsive for any of our needs. The location was very close to Capitol building which fave a great local feel. Loved our experience here.

This space is in an unusually beautiful house with a swimming pool that is available in the hotter months.
This is an older neighborhood -- over 100 years old. It is mostly composed of townhouses two or three stories high. People who worked in the Navy Yard used to live on my block. Now you will find all kinds of two income families with children. Lots of lawyers, lobbyists, Members of Congress, Capitol Hill staff and retirees.
  • It was my first time using Airbnb and I couldn't be more satisfied. Heather is a great host and such a sweetheart. The room was exactly like the pictures and the house is awesome! It is mostly Federal and late Victorian architecture, wide boulevards, tree lined streets, friendly people, lots of dog parks. There is a park 1/2 a block away with basketball, soccer, and football, among other activities which is quite lively every day and night. Capitol Hill's landmarks include the Capitol, the Senate and House office buildings, the Supreme Court building, the Library of Congress, the Marine Barracks, the Washington Navy Yard, Shakespeare Theatre, and Congressional Cemetery. The main non-residential corridor of Capitol Hill is Pennsylvania Avenue, a lively commercial street with shops, restaurants and bars. Eastern Market is an 1873 market on 7th Street SE, where vendors sell fresh meat and produce in indoor stalls and at outdoor farmers' stands and a flea market. A fun history of the neighborhood: Barracks Row was the 2005 winner of the Great American Main Street Award. Eighth Street, SE, also known as Barracks Row, was the first commercial center in Washington DC because of a natural harbor in the Anacostia River named St. Thomas Bay. In 1799, the Navy Yard located next to that harbor, and in 1801, Thomas Jefferson selected the site of 8th and I Streets as the first post for the Marine Corps because of its close proximity to the Navy Yard and U.S. Capitol, in case it needed protecting. The first major commercial street of the old Federal City was 8th Street. The arts come alive on 8th Street SE with beautifully landscaped open spaces that are hubs of artistic expression. Musical and theatrical events abound on the street and in the pocket parks for all to enjoy, and local artisans sell their wares in numerous stores and fairs. Eighth Street SE has a thriving nightlife scene, with many restaurants and music clubs that are enjoyed by patrons in a safe and clean environment. Eighth Street SE offers a unique, pedestrian-friendly shopping, as well as wining and dining experience.

  • What an amazing listing! What amazing hosts! The apartment itself is beautiful, with a great kitchen, a comfortable bedroom, nice tv's, and fast wifi. It was spotlessly clean. There was a full W&D which I had no cause to use, but they would definitely come in handy for longer trips or vacations with kids. The neighborhood is also great - you can walk to Union Station in no time, and there are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance as well. I had dinner at the hosts' amazing restaurant down the street, Ethiopic, which I highly recommend (as well as the amazing bakery next door!) Finally, I greatly enjoyed meeting these fantastic hosts - they were kind and accommodating when I lost my wallet (found), two pairs of shoes (found) and a jacket (found). Thanks for a great stay in DC!

The neighborhood is awesome and close to a metro station which is super convenient. Meseret was a fabulous host- the apartment was spotless and exactly like the pictures, she greeted us with pastries from her bakery, and she checked up on us to see if we needed anything. Can't recommend this enough!

  • Amazing property in a very convenient location. Easy walk to Union Station, Capitol, and many of the sights of D.C. The property was very clean and welcoming. It was nice to be able to have a room for my wife and I, with our daughter on the large pull out couch. For the times you don't want to go out to eat, the kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials. Giant is also a few blocks away. Less I forget that the hosts had some baked goodies waiting for us when we showed up. The wifi was also helpful when needing to look up info. I would definitely stay again.

Nina was very responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in DC and encourage others to do the same.

  • This is a real gem. Sweetly furnished, located on a quiet, residential street, and a short walk to some great restaurants. Nina was a wonderful host, and helped me feel right at home.

    Rebecca2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nina's place is in a good location if you want to experience a nice quiet spot near dc. It's a studio with enough space to sit down and enjoy some downtime before walking to the metro to check out dc or taking an uber. Lots of restaurants few blocks away.

    Yuree2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • My 14-year old son and I stayed at Nina's Capitol Hill area studio apartment the last week of March - prime time in DC. The apartment was very much as advertised, and Nina was awesome! She was very responsive to my communication. Starting with my first message the moment we landed, she responded promptly with exact directions, etc. She was very friendly and helpful. She made it clear I shouldn't hesitate to ask for anything, and she was very available. She stopped by one night (texted first to ask if she could come by) with locally made gourmet ice cream as a special welcoming treat. With this welcoming attitude, I felt comfortable asking her various questions, and never felt like I was "bugging" her. In the course of the week, I asked her where I could print something, if various neighborhoods were safe to be out at night, etc. As far as the apartment, we felt the location was REALLY great. It's two blocks from Capitol South metro station; and notably, three lines service that station which made getting to the mall/downtown area super quick and convenient. It's also just 3 blocks to the Library of Congress and the Capitol, and a cute commercial area on Pennsylvania Avenue with coffee, restaurants, etc. I'd stay at Nina's place, or certainly recommend it to anyone visiting DC.

    Kathy2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nina is simply the best and so is her place! She was flexible with us checking in and out. She was so thoughtful when we arrived; she bought me ice cream for our stay because she could hear I was stressed when talking to her on the phone before we arrived. Her place is wonderfully decorated, impeccably clean, and very welcoming. Nina provides you with a great list of recommendations of where to eat and what to do. My sister has lived in DC for over 7 years, my mom and I were in town visiting her, and she said that Nina has very good list of food and recommendations overall. The LOCATION IS THE BEST! You have the joy of feeling like a local and a tourist at the same time. She's only a couple of blocks from the metro, the Capitol (great for a nighttime stroll), and a few blocks from the Navy Yard, the Eastern Market, and the museums. You can walk everywhere and the neighborhood is safe and nice. I have visited DC many times and this was my first time staying near the Capitol. I loved the area and convenience of her location. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit.

    Christina2016-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Nina and John's flat. They greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around and were very easy to communicate with. The flat is exactly as it was in the photos and very clean and cozy. The neighborhood was great and a 10 min walk to some really great restaurants in the area. We had a great experience and I highly recommend staying at their flat!

Modern 1 bed/1 bath apartment located in the charming Capitol Hill historic district. It's ideal for business travelers and tourist couples. The apartment is just a short walk to Eastern Market metro station and only 11 blocks to the Capitol building. You can take metro just 2-3 stops to the Smithsonian museums and the monuments on the west side of the capitol building, or you can make a nice walk of it.
    • English basement apartment with full size windows and 8-foot ceilings • Renovated in 2017 • Front and rear private entrance with keyless entry • 1 queen bed • Wireless Internet • Xfinity X1 Cable TV (HBO, Movie Channel, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime) • Netflix app via Xfinity • Full Kitchen with a gas range • Nespresso machine and electric tea kettle • Fresh towels and linens for 4 • Professionally cleaned for each guest • Washer/Dryer • 2 guests is optimal, but a third guest could certainly sleep on the couch if desired
The apartment is just one block from Lincoln Park and just 4-5 blocks from Eastern Market, an old trolley station turned local market that’s open Tuesday thru Sunday. Inside the market you’ll find a bakery, a fishmonger, butchers, a cheese shop, a florist, produce vendors, and a pottery studio (in the basement). On weekends the market expands when local artists, craftsmen, farmers, and other merchants set up stands on the sidewalks and streets surrounding the market. Nearby on 7th Street, 8th Street, and on Pennsylvania Avenue you’ll also have large number of coffee shops, breakfast/lunch/dinner options for all budgets, Trader Joes, Mom’s Organic Market, a pharmacy, and much more. Other destinations that are all walkable (or bikeable depending on your nature): • Library of Congress • Supreme Court • The Capitol Building • US Botanical Garden • Smithsonian • Union Station (though I’d probably Uber if I had luggage) • H Street Corridor • Marine Barracks • Nationals Baseball Stadium

He was quick to respond and made sure we had what we needed and even left umbrellas for us knowing it was going to rain. The apartment was very clean and spacious and great for 3 people! Easy access and close enough to walk to the mall. Having wifi, cable, and netflix allowed us to have an enjoyable lazy Sunday in. Truly a great apartment and would recommend to anyone visiting DC!

  • I had a fantastic stay at Robb’s apartment; in fact it was one of my best AirBnB experiences to date. Check-in/out was a breeze, and communication with Robb was great, he is very quick to respond. The apartment is beautifully furnished and is located at a very pretty and quiet residential street, but within easy walking distance of many great bars and restaurants, and the tourist attractions at the National Mall. Highly recommend staying here, and would book again without hesitation.
