  • Verna's apartment is perfect for couples or solo travelers, everything is new and in great working order. We could not have asked for a better location, walking distance to the best beaches in Barbados (Pebbles Beach) and in a quiet residential neighborhood. Shawn was extremely helpful, and drove us from/to the airport for a small fee. If we had any questions, he was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

    Angela2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Verna's place is awesome but it is not in the location advertised. It's a little ways inland form advertised. However it was clean and safe and the check in was easy as can be. The only thing id recommend is bring your own pillow! Very easy to talk to, and I would recommend to another couple on a budget or solo traveller

    Cameron2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Verna's place is a very clean, comfortable space in a good location for accessing Bridgetown's best beach and some of the restaurants herself. Verna is extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this choice.

  • Very cute and clean room. Great location...just a short drive to different beachfront bars and other attractions in Bridgetown! I didn't get a chance to meet the hosts in person, but they were friendly and helpful. The checkin system was also extremely convenient. Would love to stay here again!

    Brittany2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Travelled here for a get away by myself and felt so at home. I mostly walked around to the area and local beaches. I liked being in a neighborhood as opposed to a hotel. I met both host on my stay and they were more than welcoming! Rapid responses to texts and even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport! My next stay in Barbados I will definitely be here!

    Rashad2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The most lovely hosts, very comfortable accommodation, perfect location. Couldn't fault anything! We would happily stay again.

  • Stayed at Verna's for one night. Verna offered airport pick-up (not included in the rate and a very good value) which was extremely helpful and convenient as I arrived around 10:00 pm and this made checking-in quite easy. I really like Pebbles Beach nearby, about a 10 minute walk down the road.

    Camila2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn and Verna were exceptional hosts. They went above and beyond to make our trip amazing. Shawn checked us into the house, showed us around, and recommended some great places for food and groceries which were excellent (I will list those later). At the end of the trip we were running late and he even took us to the airport. About the place itself. It is 8 mins walk to what we thought was the best beach- white/pink sugar like sand, calm waters, we brought our masks/snorkels and were able to swim with the turtles and saw the ship wrecks ourselves. 3 min walk to the gas station where you get exceptional beef Rotis for $4 USD. 5-6 mins walk to a local Rum shop (Bulldog grill) with exceptional food. We were also very close to touristy destination and food- probably a 12-15 min walk. We did not have a car the entire time- took a bus when we went to some far away beaches ($1 USD). The beach closest to the apartment was actually our favorite. The place has a nice queen/king size bed, table, chair, a kitchen, microwave, fridge, utensils, dishes, everything you would need. The internet was very fast, no trouble streaming video but they also have a TV with more channels than we have at home! Brand new AC unit. Bathroom was clean and everything brand new. Highly, highly recommend staying here. This place will not be available for long, especially when you compare hotel prices. Great price, excellent hosts, friendly neighbors (mostly families), and a little more of that local experience!

    Bridgetown, Saint Michael, Barbados

A self contained studio apartment above a traditional Barbadian family home. Quiet neighbourhood five minutes walk to Carlisle Bay and beautiful Brownes Beach. One km from Bridgetown with buses to any part of the island.
A private studio apartment with queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom. The apartment has a mini kitchen and a private balcony overlooking an enclosed tropical garden. This studio apartment has a separate entrance and is located above a traditional Barbadian family home. The space cannot accommodate children.
Workingclass Barbadian neighborhood with real community people that will give a sense of how life is on the island. Our street of Dunlow Lane is safe, the house is respected and its guests are appreciated by the local residents. As in all cities we, as hosts, will advise on how to get around and where to avoid to make your trip most pleasurable.
  • Rachel and her husband are the best hosts ever! They are extraordinary friendly and helpful: during our stay they supported us in whatever came up. They guided us around the island and always had good hints what was going on. The big well-kept house is surrounded by a tropical garden where the monkeys say hello in the morning to pick up some guavas. The rooms are nice, clean and typical carribean- you feel right at home! Two cute lovely dogs included. The neighbourhood is working class, but anyhow there is no reason to feel uncomfortable as the hosts are well known and popular and people on the street were very friendly to us. Public transportation to every spot on the island is very easy to access from the location of the appartment. In our opinion the most beautiful bay of b'dos is right in front of the street in 3 min walk. Shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets are in walking distance and easy to reach. In addition rachel is fantastic cook and prepares wonderful carribean meals, Manuell is great fun and has always a nice story to tell! We definately recommend staying with rachel and would do it anytime again!

  • I stayed in the well equipped upstairs studio which has Wi-Fi access, a very comfortable double bed, mosquito nets and TV with cable and local stations. There is also a kitchenette on the balcony that overlooks their beautiful garden with an electric grill, utensils and a small bar fridge - the perfect spot to unwind with a few beers after a long morning at the beach. The location of Rachels house could not be better - you are 5 minutes walk from Carlisle Bay which is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to (coming from Byron Bay in Australia I know a thing or two about nice beaches), an easy walk to Bridgetown or a short ride on a local bus to St Lawrence Gap. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe and above all friendly. To top all this off, Rachel (Shelly) and her husband Manny are exceptional hosts - they both took the time to show me the best local eats, invited me to join when they were going to pick up groceries and really provided a chance to immerse in the Barbados way of life. My stay here was perfect.

    Jacob2014-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place! It was perfect for the two of us as we were able to get around by walking or taking transportation easily from Rachel's place. Rachel and Manuel were helpful in answering any questions we had about the area and how to get around when we first arrived and were available if we needed anything through out our stay. It is close to the beach and there is cheap local food nearby. There are both local places and tourist attractions through out the day and night nearby. It is a fun and safe area to be in and we would definitely go back and stay with Rachel and Manuel again! - Michelle and Alyssa :)

    Michelle2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • A perfectly peaceful getaway! Super clean apartment, very quiet and comfortable, with fast wifi, stocked patio kitchen, fans and mosquito net. Short walk to a beautiful beach, great food, and the center of town. The hosts were just lovely! Very accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! Offered a ride if they were headed in the same direction I was, which was so nice as I was traveling alone. Even made me fresh bread to take along to my next destination! It was definitely hard to leave, and I look forward to returning again soon. Recommended 100%!

    Sarah2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Rachel & Manuel's apartment for 1 week. The apartment was clean and equipped with everything we needed for cooking, etc. The apartment is conveniently located only a few minutes from Brownes Beach, which is the nicest beach we swam at during our stay. Manuel helped us out with organising a hire car to be delivered to the apartment and set us up with a local to take us out to swim with turtles (by far the best snorkelling we have done). We would stay there again when we are next in Barbados. Only a couple of points to note for visitors... Be sure to bring / purchase plenty of insect repellent, and be sure to travel by taxi at night as several streets were suspect around the area.

  • This was a fantastic choice of accommodation for a first trip to Barbados. As a solo female traveller, the host was extreme helpful in directing me towards the best beaches, and good local food. From this Airbnb, I was able to walk to most of the beaches, bakery, grocery, and local food spots. This is a little out of the way if you are looking for late nights of drinking and dancing, but the perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation.

    Caroline2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Rachel and Manuel was perfect. Perfect location. Nice room. Great hosts. Will return. Thanks

    Antonio2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, clean & comfortable. It can be a bit noisy at night, possibly something to do with the 3 rum shacks within 100 yards. You can hear the church sermons quite clearly most nights, but they don't go on all night. It's less than a 5 minute walk to one of the locals favourite beaches. Overall a pretty good place to stay & I'd stay again.

Chelrose Studio is close to restaurants, dining, the beach (just 3 or 4 minutes stroll), nightlife, and public transport. Located in a lovely neighborhood, my place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Chelrose studio provides a relaxing space with an outside sun trap with sun loungers and chairs. Less than a minutes walk to local transport, the buses and vans are incredibly regular and take you directly to Oistins ( famous fish fry), directly into Bridgetown, St Lawrence Gap & airport.
The neighborhood is very quiet. It's only a minutes walk to local transport and between 3 and 4 minutes to two beautiful beaches, one with a beach bar and water sports hire. Harbour Lights local night club is approximately 7 minutes walk away.
  • Great place but you need a carl to go around...

  • Very good location neat and tidy.

  • Chelrose Studio was great! The location was perfect, lots of places to eat nearby, super close to the bus and beach, 2 gas stations nearby, and a cute little neighbourhood. The street may look a little scary at night, but it is full of families and children, and there is really nothing to worry about! The patio off the back was adorable and was a great place to have breakfast. The shower has a water heater for those old rainy days, or when you want a warm shower, and the kitchen has a double burner electric cook top. There is no microwave so we had to reheat our leftovers on the cook top, which was not a big deal. Over all, we extremely enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend it!

  • My stay in Barbados was wonderful. I loved Tara’s place. The studio is just perfect for one person as me - solo traveler, but I think would fit nicely also couples. It has everything you need on vacation – big bathroom, kitchen with everything necessary, the lovely terrace right in front the doors that I enjoyed a lot. The neighbourhood is very quiet and friendly, which was very important for me. There is very easy access to two beautiful beaches, not more than 4-5 min walk, luxury . Around 2 min by foot from the house there is shop you can buy the most needed items, otherwise the bigger shops are very easily to get to by public transport (around 10-15min + you get to see some of the parts of Barbados as a bonus). Tara was fantastic host, making sure I arrived safely and checked upon me how I was doing during my stay. She provided me with all my question before my arrival and was willing to help with any questions I might have during my stay. Giving tips for good trips, where to get haircut, organizing my beauty treatments. I think that kind and friendly approach of Tara and her wonderful mum made my stay in Barbados even better. It was paradise there, but thanks to them I felt welcome and almost like home. Thank you. I will gladly come back soon. Barbora

The cottage is in an small neighborhood just across the street from one of the best beaches in Barbados, Carlisle Bay where you can surf, paddleboard, snorkel, sail, swim with the turtles. Its about a 10 minute walk to the Hilton. About 5 min walk to Radisson Hotel, Pebbles Beach. There are restaurants walking distance and nightlife is a short taxi ride or bus ride away.
  • Lovely place to stay. Walking distance to beaches, bars, and busses. We had monkeys right outside the window and got fresh mangos every morning.

  • Lovely, quiet place to stay. Walking distance to Pebble Beach, bar and bus stop. Spock was awesome and recommended different things to do.

  • Great location. Within walking distance to Pebbles Beach and Carlisle Bay and some good food options as well. The cottage is basic and tidy. The only issue I had was no wifi connection inside the cottage. Spock was kind enough to drop me off to the supermarket and an appointment I had later on in the week.

    Angela2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great holiday. Accommodation is basic but has everything you need, including internet. Close to both pebble beach & Carlisle bay, both 5mins walk away. We tended to use Sandy beach which is a short bus ride away because the sea is shallow & calm, ideal for swimming & snorkelling (Turtles) and a nice bar. At night took the bus to several places. St Lawrence gap has very good restaurants. The ZR minibuses are a real experience and we used them to travel all along the south coast a flat rate of $2 Barbados

  • It's a great place, near to beach and the bus stop. We never had troubles to reach the cottage even late in the night

  • We had a great stay in Barbados. The house was perfect for our needs, and close to the beach, restaurants, a dive shop, public transportation, and a short drive to nightlife. • We had a wonderful time in this cute little house, which was perfectly located! It is close to beautiful beaches, restaurants, nightlife... We really enjoyed having our breakfast on the little terrace, while watching birds and even some monkeys! The man living right next to our home, Spock, was so kind and helpful! On our first day, he took us around the area and gave us great tips so that we could enjoy our trip fully. We are so glad we met him! We recommend this house with no hesitation! Thank you Spock and Melanie!

A spacious room with a queen size bed in a shared traditional style Barbadian chattel house. Use of a shared bathroom with shower plus a second toilet. Many secluded areas where you can relax while being surrounded by original art. Books, DVDs and board games can be borrowed from the family's collection. The space cannot accommodate children.

  • I had such a great stay with Rachel and Manuel. They provided so much great advice throughout my stay and also assisted with a few generous lifts when I needed to go somewhere. I love their house I felt so comfortable right (URL HIDDEN) was so nice to meet both of them and I hope I can make it back one day soon.

    Justin2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spent one week here and Rachel and Manuel were wonderful hosts! They were friendly, accommodating and made me feel very welcome. They are very knowledgable about the island and gave me lots of great tips which I truly appreciated as I was traveling on my own. Their house is beautiful and clean, and only a short walk to town and less than a 5 min walk to the beach. The beach close to them was very calm and not too busy which I loved. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back! Thank you again Rachel and Manuel for everything!

    Adele2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • When the beach is as close to your accommodation as it is to this place, it's hard to think of a thing wrong. It's situated just down the road from a popular nightclub, and it's in the middle of a local neighbourhood - just the way I like to stay, away from obnoxious tourists and awkwardly spectacular resorts. The hosts were kind enough to cook my first meal, and after that to drive me to an appointment and also the airport. The only negative was that I had to sleep under a mosquito net and use repellent at least twice a day, as there is an army of mosquitos to be found in the room. (Despite the ferocity of my repellent application, I was bitten two dozen times in a matter of days.) However, it's not a resort with resort pricing, so that was something that I didn't mind too much. All in all, a great experience that I would recommend to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to come back to.

  • Will certainly be back!

    Romae2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Dunlow Cottage was unforgettable. Manny and Shelley's home was beautiful and the area in which their home is located was perfect. We stayed in the large bedroom which had plenty of space for us to hang our clothes, and the mosquito net was a lifesaver. The island--and many others-- is currently dealing with the horrible sargassum seaweed, but Dunlow Cottage is located near The Boatyard and Browne's Beach, both of which were completely free of it! There is a lovely bakery just up the rode that we frequented, and Bridgetown is just a short walk away. Shelley was kind enough to wait up for us and even give us a meal on our first night. Both hosts were incredibly knowledgeable about the island and were wonderful resources. The previous posts about the area being "sketchy" (an awfully loaded word) are misguided. We said "good morning" to everyone we passed (including one elderly woman who sat on her porch every morning and asked us how our swim was), and everyone was perfectly nice. We never felt unsafe. Our time on the island was a bit different than others; my grandfather was raised on the island so we have many family members there. They picked us up everyday and drove us around. If you can get to it, check out the Naniki restaurant in Bathsheba, the Sandy Lane golf course, and the Animal Flower cave and surrounding area. Fridays at Oistins fish fry, and Saturdays at Harbour Lights were great experiences, too. The hosts cultivate sprouts, and as such, they have a huge, industrial kitchen and work area which was lovely to see. Shelley is a chef who makes food out of her industrial kitchen, and there were always lovely helpers and friends around making food that smelled delicious. We even got to see her trade sprouts with other vendors at the Cheapside Market. On our last day, a relative of mine came by and started talking to Shelley and we got to see just how small the world really is. Turns out, we're related! We'll definitely be back :)

  • We had an AMAZING 5 night stay, the room & house was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, central to everything and walking distance to beautiful beaches. But the best part about this stay were the hosts!! Thank you for making us feel like we were apart of the family! 100% recommend. Probably the best airbnb to stay in Barbados! Love, Javi & Lauren

  • Rachel and Manuel were wonderful hosts, who went above and beyond with their hospitality. Their home is delightful, and less than a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Carlisle Bay. The supermarket, restaurants, etc are a quick bus ride away.

  • Rachel was away when I visited, but Manuel was a wonderful host and really made sure I was comfortable during my stay (thank-you!). Very grateful to him for cooking supper the night I arrived - so helpful when you're getting your bearings somewhere. Also really appreciated his help in local directions, rides into town as convenient and tips on where to eat and shop. The place was kept immaculately clean and I would certainly stay with them again the next time I'm in Barbados. This is what airbnb is all about!

The one and only Brick House on the beach at Carlisle bay offers two separate, luxuriously furnished apartments. The one described here, "Royal Palm", is located on the top floor and offers a magnificent view over the turquoise water and coral sands. When you open the garden door, you are right ON the beach! The well-maintained surroundings offer many shopping and leisure-time possibilities. In only ten minutes you reach the city centre by foot. Parking area next to the house.
This apartment named "Royal Palm" is a fabulous, newly custom made, renovated apartment on the top floor of a historic building located west (for the sunset) facing the magnificent calm waters of Carlisle Bay & Bayshore Beach. Carlisle Bay is the only beach on the south coast with west coast conditions (calm turquoise water and white coral sand). It is therefore perfectly suited for swimming and snorkelling (you can even go snorkelling with turtles at Carlisle Bay!). The apartment offers a stunning view over the Marine reserve with its sailboats, luxury liners and historic ship wrecks (which you can visit). The apartment has two airconditioned bedrooms and a spacious living and dining area. Thanks to the open plan kitchen, it is fully equipped for self-catering. There are two smart TVs, home theatre for Blu-ray, wi-fi/bluetooth access and an accommodation for 110/220 volt supply throughout. You will also find a small library of books. The apartment has a security system. Your apartment can be accessed from the road through an enclosed staircase or from the beach via a private staircase. You are offered a stunning view onto the beach over the sumptuous garden site which harbours a charming array of flowers: hibiscus, oleander, crotons, desert roses, red ginger lily, morning glory, colourful bougainvillea and four different kind of palms, just to name a few. The garden has a private bar area suitable for holding events (up to 40 persons, for information on prizes and possibilities please ask the owner). The beachfront property has outdoor shower facilities and male & female bathrooms for your convenience.
The apartment is located in an attractive, well-maintained neighbourhood inbetween the governmental headquarters with its open esplanade, a yacht club, a private hospital (“Bay View Clinic”) and the Hilton Hotel. The clientele is international. There are many dining possibilities where you can either enjoy the international cuisine or local foods. An „emergency-fridge“ is only 400 meters away: The service station is open 24/7 and has an ATM machine. On your way there you will also find a pharmacy. The nearest supermarket is in the city centre of Bridgetown. You will reach the city centre in only ten minutes by foot. If you like, you can walk along the shore. On your way there, you will come across two popular beach clubs (“Boatyard” and “Harbour Lights”). If you walk into the other direction, you will soon reach the Garrison, the Barbados Museum and other popular sites.
  • Host did arrange a Taxi from the airport on our behalf, we didn't realise that there was american or Barbados dollars, we were charged 30 dollars and paid american dollars which was more expensive than the correct price in Barbadian dollars but didn't realise, so it is good to agree a price with the host before you go so you know how much it should cost you. Lovely apartment as described, with superb views and nice beach, good quality chairs and umbrella. There was no welcome pack, not even fresh water bottle in the fridge, we arrived very late as our flight was delayed so were very tired, but the estate agent that welcomed us in went out of her way to drive us to the garage to get groceries for that night and drove us back again. She was very helpful and it was her that eventually got us the replacement kettle. Several days later the cleaner arrived with a bottle of wine that should have been there when we arrived. We eat in a lot and found there was limited cooking dishes to use in the oven, the oven was not straight forward, after asking the host by phone, who had not used the cooker so couldn't help us with its operation we eventually found cooker instructions that could have been left out for us and managed to work out that the timer had stopped the operation, all unnecessary haste that can be avoided, We reported to the cleaner that the kettle didn't work but it was 1.5 days before it was replaced via the estate agent. On leaving we agreed and were granted extra time until 3pm by the cleaner as long as we did;t mind if she took the bed linen to wash, the estate agent also agreed as there was no one coming in that day. The cleaner arrived at 1pm, she said, oh are you still here, we said we had a taxi to pick us up at 2.30pm, we had actually agreed to leave at 3pm, she said ok. i was cooking a meal for us, she remained in the apartment while i cooked the meal and stood in the lounge while we ate dinner, got the feeling that we were not welcome and should go, not the best way to end our holiday feeling we were being a nuisance, it spoiled the atmosphere so can't say we felt comfortable or welcome on leaving. The apartment is situated in popular area near attractions but is very noisy in the apartment both from main road traffic, hooting constantly and as its next to a recreational area that also is access to the beach a lot of noise from people going to and from the beach. Our bedroom was at the rear, the bedroom at the front was so noisy you could not sleep for road noise, so i would regard this as a 1 bedroom apartment. If you want town life and late night...

  • Jens-Uwe's place is absolutely amazing! Everything is exactly as pictured and described. The beach view from the balcony welcomed us every morning and the sunsets in the evening were just as breathtaking. Transportation was easy, the ZR buses (we call them dollar vans in NYC) to Bridgetown, Oistins, and St Lawrence Gap stopped right outside of the building. Restaurants and grocery stores are a bit of a distance away, but again--transportation is fairly easy to get (we did not rent a car for this trip). The wifi was fast and easy to connect to, there is a television and stereo system, and Jens had beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for us to use. My friend and I were in Barbados during the CropOver season, so every night we heard the sounds of soca from the nearby Harbour Lights lounge. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and highly recommend!!

    Lesleyann2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jens-Uwe was a terrific and attentive host. He made us feel welcome not just in his home, but on the island - advising of helpful dive shops and the like. The home was positively stunning. Exactly as the pictures indicate and smack on the beach - Carlisle Bay is a particularly gorgeous stretch. Kitchen was well-equppied, smart TV and the AC worked like a charm. I could not be more emphatic - loved it. Thanks SO MUCH Jens!

  • A high end luxurious penthouse apartment with a perfect view over Carlisle Bay. Literally on the popular turtle beach, and very close to the yacht club and the city. We really liked sitting in the sofa with a glass of something and enjoying the wonderful sunset display. The host is living in the adjacent apartment which ensures good communications and quick resolve of any issue. We felt very welcome from the moment we booked with Jens-Uwe and the communication have been excellent throughout. The flat is located on the coastal road coming out of Bridgetown so road noise is inevitable. We quickly got used to the constant ta-daa of the mini taxis. At the side of the house is a public square and some trees where the locals gather early morning and in front of the house is the lovely beach begging you for the 6am swim and tempting you with the swimming with the turtles a bit later in the day. The beach is very busy on Sundays and bank holidays. Everything in the apartment was as described. There is everyting you need for a couple of weeks of self catering. The supermarket is about 3km away and very well stocked with all sort of imported items. Overall a very enjoyable experience - thank you Jens-Uwe and Rolf The kindest regards, Pauline & Soeren

  • I had a great time at Jens apartment on Bayshore Beach, Barbados! Jens, along with his friend Chris and cleaner Denise, made me feel very welcome during my 13 day stay. Jens is very personable. Before my flight to Barbados, Jens contacted me a few times to arrange everything, so that I would feel comfortable during my stay. Jens informed me of all of the local places to eat, drink, rent a car, and everything else that I could think of. When I arrived, the apartment was spotless (very clean)! The fridge was well stocked and everything was just lovely! The view from the top floor, out to the beach is stunning! Chris, showed me around the apartment, and how everything worked. As I had a hire car, Chris even showed me all of the good local places that I might like to go for dinner, drinks and even the supermarket. I landed on a Friday afternoon, and Chris took me up to Oisten's Fish Fry, which is a must do, while you're there! The seafood is fantastic (from a seafood lovers perspective)! The apartment is right on the beach. The water is beautiful, clear and warm, and the white soft sand a pleasure to walk and lie on! I swam there 4 times a (URL HIDDEN) was fantastic! There was a small amount of noise from the street that runs along the beachside, but it wasn't really a problem, once you get into the spirit of Barbados. You can also close the main room and with the air conditioning on, it was lovely. Parking is right next door to the apartment, which was ideal for getting about. I will definitely return to Barbados and it would be a pleasure to spend more time in the apartment!

  • We went for our anniversay vacation and it was perfection. Jens was supper helpfull and accomodsting and friendly. We would recommend this location without reservation! Towels, umbrellas, beach chairs were always provided along with shared knowledge of the island and it's history. A great experience and will become a reoccurring pilgrimage for our family!

  • We had a great stay. The place was as described. Jens kindly left a bottle of wine and two beer in the fridge. Jens was very easy to communicate with. He walked us through everything we needed to know about the apartment . Jens was around most days in case we had questions. The view was amazing and the beach was beautiful. We look forward to returning.

  • A beautiful top floor apartment with the most incredible beach views. Jens is a fantastic host and has thought of everything you could need for a great holiday. Communication before and during our stay was very good. We were provided with all the information we needed to make the most of our holiday, and Jens was always contactable if we needed anything. On our first morning Jens had two chairs and a sun umbrella waiting for us on the beach, which was a great way to start our holiday. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed, and in addition there was a wide selection of outdoor items for us to use if we wanted (Sun chairs, umbrella, swimming noodles, airbeds, snorkel, bat and ball etc.) We spent most evenings watching the sun go down to the sound of the waves on the beach with a chilled drink in hand. The location is very good for making the most of the island. Taxis and buses are close by, and it is about a 15 to 20 min walk on the beach into Bridgetown, and the nearest mini market (in the petrol station) is about a 7 min walk away. We love to swim in the sea and it was great to swim with turtles every day. We had a really relaxing holiday and will definitely be returning again soon.

Two rooms available. One has a single bed, the other a double bed suitable for a couple. House, also used as personal art gallery, located 100 meters from beach. Facilities are shared. Quiet neighborhood. Burglar-proof windows. Free bicycles. In-room computer, internet. Easy access to public transport. Restaurants, night-clubs nearby.
Keep in mind that facilities are shared. Both room have a computer, internet, TV, DVD player. There is no laundry room, instead you enjoy a traditional Barbadian outdoor laundry space with a tall, privacy fence and air drying. In the single bed room, an additional bunk-type bed space is above the built-in wardrobe, allowing, in a pinch, sharing the room.
Neighborhood is safe. Beach is a three minute walk away. Small breakfast canteen, open Tuesday to Friday, is on adjoining lot. Street outside can be busy, especially during rush hours (Morning, 7-9; Evening, 3-5). This is an urban area, so expect traffic noise. Public transport passes directly in front of house. Heart of Bridgetown is 15 minute walk away. Restaurants and nightclubs short walk or taxi drive away.
  • He was really nice and very helpful, he came at the airport and he helped me sooooo much getting around Barbados. ( which is not that easy) The room has everything you need, tv dvd and books. The neighborhood is just perfect, you have everything around. Wynslo is passionate he knows his island pretty well and he is very welcoming.

  • Wynslo was very helpful and hospitable and took me around and even accompanied me to my workshop on the first day. The home has lovely artwork, books, wifi and computer and is well stocked with his food which he allowed me to use. Public transportation is very easy to get. I enjoyed my stay there and it was great for me as I was there for a workshop at a nearby hotel.

  • Wynslo was an absolute gentleman. After a family illness almost ruined our plans, he opened his home at short notice, picked me up from the airport (despite an early morning flight), gave me a bicycle to ride and a fridge full of food, and generally made me feel very welcome. The accommodation is basic but extremely clean, and best of all, it's a 2 minute walk to the beach. Wynslo knows a huge amount about the history of the island and was a pleasure to stay with!

    David2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay its not the Ritz but its got all you need even cold shower-near to buses beach and town.

  • Wynslo is a perfect host. He came at the airport late to bring me at the house. I am here is Barbados not only for holidays also for work and Wynslo was very helpful trying to find contacts for me. We spent time to speak about the history of the island, art... He showed me how use the transport (public and private as ZR) the good place to eat and especially the best beaches in Barbados, the most scenic part of the island (Bottom Bay...) That was for a great experience to start research in Barbados, thank you Wynslo ! About the accomodation: this is a lovely place with a small art gallery. The room is clean, bathroom is ok and there is good wifi connexion.

    Morgan2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wynslo was a friendly and helpful host. Small but clean room, toilet and kitchen. Breakfast included. Note though, that I arrived after bus times and it costed me 25 us$ to arrive to his place. On the way back to the airport, he showed me which bus to take.

    Sabrine2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Wynslo's place, great location (2 minutes walk to the beach and a short work from the town centre) Wynslo was very welcoming, offered to pick me up from the airport and take me back there at the end of my stay. He shared local knowledge which help to save some money and experience Barbados away from the tourist hotspots.

    Omari2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • My host was kind and caring. He offered me a tour to downtown and helped with my overall stay. It was quite, close to the beach and also right next to the bus stop. The bus stop goes everywhere! I will strongly recommend for a serene but great local feel of the bajan lifestyle. I enjoyed my stay and it was greatly priced

  • This was a great place to stay, Rachel and her husband treated me like family and were very warm and friendly to me for the duration of my stay there. The location is great a short walk takes you into the heart of Bridgetown, and the beach is just across the main road. My room was very comfortable and the shower was the hottest I have ever experienced in the Caribbean! Rachal even made me dinner the first evening of my arrival, and gave me some home made bread for toast in the mornings, thank you Rachel(URL HIDDEN) I felt very comfortable walking around the area at night, even to Bridgetown and back I was in Barbados for one week on business and this was the perfect place to stay, most highly recommended 10 out of 10

  • I really recomend this house. We dosent saw Rachel, but Manuel was an amazing host. He always was aware to help us with what to do in the island and the most important thing is that he has the contacts!! My fríend and I enjoyed barbados. The house is very well located, the neighborhood is safe a Little dark but is ok. Thank you Manuel for all your support. :)

  • Shelley & Manny where such amazing hosts! They welcomed my into their homes and where so inviting ☺️ honestly the most genuine people I have met! They have a lovely home which is perfectly located on the island. If you are going to Barbados for visa reasons they are perfect for it ☺️ Really loved every minute of my stay!

  • Both Rachel and Manuel were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome in their home. Everything is accurate about the description. The neighborhood is nice and friendly, walkable and safe, only 5 minutes from the beach. Their suggestions and offerings for things to do were awfully helpful for this solo traveler on a budget! I'll definitely be back.

  • As previously mentioned, our host was abusive, condescending, unfriendly to our friend; The next morning he banged on our door jarring us awake at 7:30 to tell us our friend had been by and that we were asked to leave. Rather than wake us when our friend was there- and he stopped by to see how we were given the reception we received the night before- Manuel greeted him at the gate by saying,' Man, you again? What do you want?" He indicated at first that our friend had threatened him but then changed his tune later daying he didn't threaten him, he FELT threatened. So, rahter than wakiing us whike he is there, Manuel thought it appropritate to fight with him, send him on his way and then wake us up. Needless tosay, I was very upset on the phone with our friend and while I was talking to him Manuel was actually trying to grab the phone out of my had a couple of times! At this, my husband was not happy and told Manuelnot to touch his wife. Manuel got up in his face as if he was going to start throwing punches. As I am on the phone, I am now having to step in between Manuel and my husband not only once 3 times!!!! Can you imagine??!!! Finally got off the phone. Our friend was so appalled at this situation he made arrangements immediately to get us the hell out of there. My husband and I were dumbfounded. We had traveled before; we had stayed with people before we know how to conduct ourselves! My husnad and I went in the backyard to figure out what we ere going to do and of course, Manuel follows us out there where he proceeded to berate and insult me further. At one point, he got in my face wagging his finger and I put my hand up and said do not get in my face at which he replied,' Oh here we go again.' He had showed me a piece of paper he had written down the airbnb contacts and went on to say that he had taken us without references, that I was not sensible, that he was a SUPERHOST with airbnb that he's 62 from Harlem and my husband said what does that have to do with it? I could not believe that we had spent all this money on our vacation to be abused, insulted etc. Then he started with his mind games again and said we could stay but our friend was not allowed on the property to even pick us up. At this, I had enough. I calmly said to Manuel. Thank you for taking us without references (as I didn't know we even needed them) and that moving forward we would be leaving his guesthouse. I reached for the piece of paper with the information on it and he pulled his hand away and said oh no you're not getting this...

    Shannon2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for 4 nights, Manuel was super, super helpful and very kind he even showed me around the island and dropped me off to my next location. The house is a 5 minute walk from the beach and it was my favourite out of them all-calm and clear! The house is defiantly safe and in great location. I would defiantly stay here again, perfect hosts and a lovely place!!!!

  • Rachel and Manny should give Air Bnb hosting lessons! They completely understand their role. They are friendly but never insinuate themselves into your plans or space. The house is charming, large and breezy and set up in a way that you REALLY feel free to use the public spaces (lots of them!) The location is a marvel in three ways..first it is a real Bajan neighborhood, where in just a couple of days you get a real feel for daily life there, secondly it is just a 4 minute walk (i timed it!) to the most gorgeous beach of Carlyle Bay where you can swim for free with turles, or park yourself at The Boatyard one of the best beach clubs on the island, three it is a ten minute walk into Bridgetown! with all kinds of transportation 5 minutes away! You can arrange to eat Rachel's fantastic cooking very inexpensively too and on your own timetable.barbados is a small and easy island to get around on by public bus and even easier with your own transport , so much to do and see on this very civilized and friendly island, filled with gorgeous beaches and teeming with history!Look no further! You have found your perfect digs in Barbados! and Rachel and Manny are very generous with information and insight on the island and it's myriad activities! Barbados is the best kept secret of the Caribbean! and Rachel and Manny are Air BnB all-stars!

The one and only Brick House on the beach at Carlisle bay offers two separate, luxuriously furnished apartments. The one described here, "Twin Palm", is located on the bottom floor and offers a magnificent view over the turquoise water and coral sands. When you open the garden door, you are right ON the beach! The well-maintained surroundings offer many shopping and leisure-time possibilities. In only ten minutes you reach the city centre by foot. Parking area next to the house. Max. guests: 4.
This apartment named "Twin Palm" is a fabulous, newly custom made, renovated apartment on the bottom floor of a historic building located west (for the sunset) facing the magnificent calm waters of Carlisle Bay & Bayshore Beach. Carlisle Bay is the only beach on the south coast with west coast conditions (calm, turquoise water and white coral sand). It is therefore perfectly suited for swimming and snorkelling (you can even go snorkelling with turtles at Carlisle Bay!). The apartment offers a stunning view over marine reserve with its sailboats and historic ship wrecks (which you can visit). The apartment has two airconditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a spacious living and dining area. Thanks to the open plan kitchen, it is fully equipped for self-catering. You will find a 40 inch smart TV, home theatre for Blu-ray, wi-fi/bluetooth access and an accommodation for 110/220 volt supply throughout. You will also find a small library of books. The apartment has a security system. Your apartment can be accessed from the road through an enclosed staircase or from the beach via your private patio. You are offered a stunning view onto the beach over the sumptuous garden site which harbours a charming array of flowers: hibiscus, oleander, crotons, desert roses, red ginger lily, morning glory, colourful bougainvillea and four different kind of palms, just to name a few. Off the garden there is also an elevated gazebo looking onto the beach. The terrace has a private bar area suitable for holding events (up to 40 persons, for more information on prizes and possibilities please ask the owner).
  • This was a simply an outstanding experience! Jens called before we left the States, offering to pick up provisions for our arrival, which were waiting for us when we arrived. He even arranged to have a taxi pick us up from the airport. We had a three hour plane delay in Miami, and Jens could not have been more understanding. As lovely as the pictures are, they still do not do the apartment and view justice. It is centrally located in Carlisle Bay, just a ten - fifteen minute walk to Bridgetown or the historic Garrison district, and bus stops next to and across from the apartment on Bay Street. We love to experience the local scene and were delighted to discover that Browne's Beach is where the locals go. Jens gave us a tour of the apartment and tips on where to eat in the area and places to visit. He even arranged for a cleaning lady to come twice during our ten day stay. Jens graciously allowed us to borrow beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment and we swam with the turtles right out front of the apartment. I had anticipated having to wash our clothes in the sink during our visit, but there is also a washer and dryer available. Coffee in the am and cocktails in the evening in the lovely garden was simply heaven. We even got to know some Bajans during our morning swims. While we could have stayed in the apartment and at the beach the whole trip, we decided to hire a car and explore the island. Again, the location of the apartment and a good pre-programmed GPS really enhanced the trip. We parked it in the community parking lot, next to the building. One thing that visitors should prepared for, not only with the apartment, but with the island - natural air conditioning. The apartment has strong air conditioning in both bedrooms, but not in the living room and kitchen. Ceiling and portable fans in these rooms help out the natural breeze a great deal, but it is not cold by any stretch. That is the case all over the island, as A/C and electricity is expensive. Even many fine restaurants we visited did not have A/C, so be prepared. The other thing that I will mention is the gathering of locals on Sunday night during our stay along Browne beach. I woke up for a drink of water around 12:00am and could hear the steady beat of a base. I was so exhausted that I went right back to sleep. The best part of the stay, without question, was the opportunity to visit with Jens. He is so charming, witty and incredibly gracious. We really felt that if we had any problems, questions or concerns, he was available anytime of day or night. This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was a dream because of Jens. We look forward to returning soon.

  • Right on the beach, short walk to either the Hilton or Bridgetown, car drive to good restaurants but local food easily available.

    Kathrine2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say! Beautiful place all brand new, right on a magnificent beach. Snorkel with the turtles and a shipwreck literally 50 metres from your door. Jens is like dealing with a member of your family, he met us at the airport, got back to the apartment and the fridge was stocked with wine, juice, milk etc. He then got us settled in and took me to the supermarket to stock up on provisions. I could go on but keeping it short and sweet. Don't hesitate to book this place if its free!

    Alex2014-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jens was a wonderful host and the place is certainly worth way more than what we paid. Two bedrooms with private in-suite bathrooms w/showers. The heavy handmade custom doors make you feel like you are staying in newly renovated sugar mill from the 1700's! There is a great open kitchen dining and sitting area that opens up to a beautiful patio with bright pink bougainvillea. It's absolutely heavenly.... I felt guilty that this place should have been occupied by honeymooners, not two women on business! The curved coastline provides one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.... a quiet area with a gentle current (unlike many other coastal vacation spots) quiet, shallow grade with clear turquoise water. You can see the colorful fish and turtles that come each day to greet the tourist boats. It's a great place to bring the kids. Jens provided us with every necessity from a fully stocked kitchen (from our list) to snorkel equipment, beach chairs, umbrella and noodles. Thanks so much to every patient Bajan (hundreds of them) who (thank God) quickly realized that any car with the windshield wipers on is just another crazy American tourist. In any other Caribbean island I would have been killed in a car accident... Bajan's patiently look after their tourists with kindness and understanding! The island has a "tradition" of not numbering buildings on the main road! Finding anything can be a challenge... here's what we quickly learned. A freshly painted building is likely serving great food and cocktails. People and businesses invest in the "waterside" of the building, not the street side. This island still relies on "cash" over credit cards. If you want to purchase something truly Bajan... bring cash. It's an insult to ask for a discount, the artisans on the island have pride and are underpricing their work! If you buy three... instead of one, however you can get a great deal. My only complaint... is that I wish they would drive on the right! I look forward to returning to the island annually to help talented Bajan artists build their businesses! ---There is so much talent on the island.

  • The apartment is simply beautiful! The location is perfect for access to the beach. It is comfortable, SECURE, and your every need catered for. The kitchen has everything you need. Including extras I didn't expect. A maid, gardener, and beach equipment are all provided. The host Jens and his staff, are extremely friendly and accommodating. Jens is extremely knowledgeable of the local area and is happy to introduce you to anyone he thinks might help increase the enjoyment of your visit. Despite a slight confusion over the security deposit at the beginning of the holiday, that was quickly addressed. It was great! A few things I did not factor in, that are beyond control of the host, is simply the location next to a main road, there is a lot of traffic noise. But the sound of the ocean soon helps you forget that. Plus you are in Barbados, why are you sitting indoors!? Remember being next to the main road has the advantage of easy access to transport! Another is solar heated water. On a cloudy day you will not get a hot shower in the apartment, you have to use the outside washroom facilities. They are the only draw backs I can see. Brownes beach is a lovely quite beach, with few tourists (no hotels nearby) and many very friendly locals. A great beach for exercising, and relaxing. Want to join in a game of paddleball, just ask! The area of Bay street the apartment is located on is not crowded and very quite. However it is a short walk from Bridgetown, convenience stores, and a short bus/van trip to Hastings, with bars and restaurants. In short, I highly recommend the Brick house, and will return!

    Sarah2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This location was perfect! Just steps to one of he best beaches I have ever seen, with sea turtles and snorkeling right off shore. It was close to several great places to eat on the beach and a 15 minute walk to more restaurants and shopping in Bridgetown. The accommodation was just as advertised with everything we needed. Highly recommended!

    Julie2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • My dad and I stayed at The Brick House while in Barbados for the cricket (as well as several days following to live a bit of the beach life, exploring and sightseeing) and we loved it. It was spot on for us. The location was perfect. The beach and sea here is amazing and right at the bottom of the garden with all the attractions others have mentioned elsewhere such as reefs, wrecks and turtles. It's not too near any of the big resorts so the beach is pretty quiet with friendly locals around. Bridgetown is a nice 15-20 minute walk along the beach while there are VERY regular ZR buses ($1 USD per trip anywhere) running just outside of the house to take you to Bridgetown (10 mins) or down to Oistins and any of the spots along the south coast in between (e.g. St. Lawrence Gap, Hastings, Rockley). The apartment itself is great and has everything you need for a self-catering holiday (complete with eskie cooler) plus a lot of beach equipment such as sun loungers, noodles and beach umbrella too. It has all the conveniences you'd expect at a hotel - e.g. air con in the bedrooms, excellent internet connection, en suite shower rooms with hot water, towels, beach towels etc. As well as the obvious attractions of the beach etc., One thing we particularly enjoyed about the apartment was sitting out on the little shady, cool patio terrace in the mornings having our breakfast watching the runners along the beach taking in the wildlife and plants in the garden before heading into the sea for a morning dip. The owner, Jens, was there while we were there to provide advice/the benefit of his local knowledge and answer any questions, which was useful. There's a regular cleaner and gardener too. The place was immaculate and the pictures barely do it justice. If you want a relaxing beach holiday in a paradise location without all the other tourists on top of you while remaining close enough to all the amenities of the south coast, then you couldn't do better than here. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from it all.

_________________________________________________________________________________ The Brick-House is located in the Carisle Bay directly at Brownes Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Barbados - also among the local population. It is just a few steps into the sea where you can snorkel with the turtles or admire sea stars. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset from the romantic bench under the trees. The very hospitable german landlord brought me to the apartment and accompanied me to a supermarket where I could do my shopping. At my arrival in the apartment I was welcomed by a filled fridge and fresh flowers. Every time I needed something, the landlord assisted me and made me feel comfortable. The apartment is very clean and is best equipped with everything you might need (Toaster, coffee machine, microwave, gas stove,...) I can absolutely recommend the accommodation.

  • Lisa's apartment is nicely appointed, extremely clean, extremely quiet, and the beds are very comfortable. The grounds are thoroughly maintained and beautifully planted. We so enjoyed the proximity to several beaches! As far as communication and assistance, Lisa was on the ball. During our stay, we were grateful to both housekeeper and property manager, both of whom we had an opportunity to meet. Recommend!

  • Zaid was great. Very helpful and kind. I enjoyed staying at his place for three nights. It was spacious and comfortable, but it was a little rough around the edges. The neighborhood may not be suitable for everyone, but I enjoyed it as a base to explore Bridgetown.

  • Absolutely amazing location Good space (a lot nicer than the photos make it look) Zaid was a great and helpful host Perfect for those who spend more time exploring than lounging around inside Rent a scooter! Best and easiest transportation around the island, (URL HIDDEN)

  • Exactly as described - basic, budget, but the perfect spot to crash for an afternoon or a night without spending a ton of money. I don't spend much time in the hotel anyway, so often times I just need a place to drop my luggage and chill in between my adventures. Zaid's place is exactly that - it's residential, low-key, and very basic - but the price is unbeatable and he was very accommodating. Offered me the wifi password and made sure I was able to check in personally when I arrived. Thanks!

  • It was a good stay, Zaid meet us in time and was kind and helpful. Told us all about local area. The apartments realy close to city Centre.

    ILYA2016-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very safe at Zaid's apartment. We walked everywhere as the apartment is close to so much including public transportation. Zaid was very attentive to our needs. The apartment was adequately equipped with the exception of some kitchen items and there is no microwave. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Welcome to a unique Heritage property built c.1780 located within the UNESCO designated property of 'Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison'. This apartment is close to amenities and across the road from Carlisle Bay and beach.
Private 2BR (two Queen sized beds) 1BTH apartment with air-conditioning in Georgian period house built c.1780 in UNESCO designated 'Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison' area of Barbados. There is one additional Queen day-bed at the end of the long gallery (not in a private room), as an option, that can accommodate an extra person if all four people in the party do not want to share the two Queen beds in the bedrooms. WiFi is included as well as a telephone for local calls which are free. Bathroom has shower, toilet and sink. Large rooms with high ceilings and ceiling fans. Large outdoor patio area. Across the road from beautiful Carlisle Bay and the historic Barbados Yacht Club. Walking distance to George Washington House Museum, The Barbados Museum, Garrison Savannah, Hilton Barbados, Bridgetown. Public transport on main road in front of house. Parking in secure area with automatic gates. Two large dogs. Guests will have access to a shared washer and dryer, yard area where vehicle can be parked, shared lawn/garden area. Only registered guests are permitted on the property. I interact with guests on or as soon as possible after arrival and on an as needed basis from thereon until departure when I will be there to say goodbye. My neighbourhood is located within the UNESCO designated property of 'Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison' and is just across the road from the Barbados Yacht Club. Restaurants, bars, museums and recreation spaces are nearby such as The Barbados Museum, George Washington House, the National Armoury, the Main Guard, Copacabana, Dippers Bar and Restarant, Harbour Lights, The Boatyard, Lobster Alive, The Barbados Yacht Club, Buzo, the Garrison Savannah and Barbados Turf Club and Carlisle Bay. There is a mix of residential and commercial real estate with architectural styles from the 1700s to present-day. The Barbados Hilton, Radisson Aquatica, The Savannah, Island Inn and Nautilus Beach are all hotels that are within walking distance. There is a gas station opposite with a small but comprehensive retail section that is open 24 hours. Bridgetown is approx. 1 mile away and Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist and other churches close by. Public transport is readily available on Bay Street which is the main road to the front of the property. This apartment is suited for people who have an appreciation for an older building and who do not mind traffic noise as the property is on a busy main road. If you do, bring a set or ear plugs. The walls are thick and act as a buffer. Traffic on the street diminishes after 10:00pm. As there is a gas station on the opposite side of the street, there is sometimes noise by patrons who ride motorcycles or heavy-duty vehicles that deliver fuel and supplies. There is a small convenience store in the gas station that sells basic toiletries, household and automotive supplies as well as chocolates, mints, crisps/chips, snacks, eggs, margarine, milk, juices, bread, beer, wine, rum, vodka, gin, scotch, energy drinks, bottled water and soft drinks. There is usually fresh bananas, doughnuts, hot dogs, sweet and savory pastries and dessert portions such as cheesecake. PLEASE READ THE HOUSE RULES BELOW

  • Christopher is a great host, he is checking that I am always happy with the place, everything was clean and spotless, nice decoration, the place has everything you may need.

  • Chris was the most wonderful host who I have ever met. He is kind and friendly. Also, he know a lot of information about Barbados, restaurants, local events, and local food. The apartment is clean, and have so huge space and everything that we need for staying. Moreover, the location is great. It is located near beautiful beach, some restaurants, bus stops, and 24/7 store that we can get snacks, alcohol, and something like that. Sometimes we could not get hot water, but he took care of us about that, so we are really satisfied with the staying. We can recommend this place for everyone.

    YUYA 2015-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Chris a rating as a host it would be 6 stars (out of 5)! Simply amazing. Super helpful with everything I needed to know, and went above and beyond a number of times to make my stay perfect. The place is spacious, comfortable, clean, self contained and a 1 minute walk to the most beautiful beach you could imagine. Everything you could want, my best Airbnb experience so far.

    Callum2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a wonderful host. He met my sister and I across the street at the yacht club and took plenty of time to tell us about local events and attractions. The apartment is lovely, and having so much space made us wish the visit was longer. The location is also great - short walking distance to the Hilton and Radisson and the bus stops are just outside.

    Raven2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • We have just spent 11nights in Chris' apartment, and it was fab!! The facilities were great, and being so close to the beach and The Barbados Yacht Club meant it was a great location, prefect for what we wanted!! Chris was so lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful. He has a lot of Island knowledge, mentioned some great littles spots for us to visit! As I'm not a big dog fan I was worried about the dogs but they are big softies!!! Thank you Chris for making our time in Barbados so great, hopefully we will be back soon!!

    Michelle2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher was great. Place was clean and had everything I needed. Pets were friendly and place was safe. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. I recommend this place for everyone.

  • Chris was a great host to us and does airbnb proud. Descriptions accurate, comms good and quick, provided helpful info as requested pre-arrival. Nice arrival welcome to property, local rum and Sorrel. Chris gave good recommendations and support with local venues and things to do. For us, Chris definitely went the extra mile and added greatly to our experience. He came across as a kind, polite and nice person, open and easy to chat with. Two very friendly dogs helped look after us. The property has been nicely restored in sympathetic fashion as can be seen in the photos and is a great size. Chris has great taste in furnishing that complements the building and he provided everything we needed during our stay for 8 nights. The building has full aircon throughout and fans in the sitting room and master bedroom, so temperature and comfort were never an issue. Compared to a much newer and modern apartment we stayed in during our second week, Chris' place is better equipped with A/C and his building is 19th Century! Security and cleanliness were absolutely fine. Both beds were really comfy, and there's even a day bed for some opulent lazing about while the kettle boils. As Chris mentions, the position of the building plus its age and style mean that there are some noise issues. We found the master bedroom to be generally fine: although you will get road noise it wasn't a problem for us. The second bedroom, at the front of the house, is not fully glazed and this means the road noise is profound. Local night birdlife is also pretty noisy. I am a noise sensitive sleeper but I coped OK by using earplugs or earphones, and/or self-medicating with Mount Gay rum. We woke up pretty early every day, 7-8.30am, assisted by the local buzz, but we didn't see this as a problem. If you are sensitive to this issue, go prepared. Location-wise, it's good. A 3-5 minute walk onto the southern end of Carlisle bay, equal distance to the south side of the Radisson towards the Hilton. All of these stretches of beach are lovely, with plenty to occupy you. The Dive Shop, Nest bar, Indian Grill, George Washington House, Barbados Museum, Garrison tours, racecourse and more. On Carlisle Bay, opposite Harbour lights, you can swim/snorkel with turtles and beautiful fish for free - just look for the Catamarans. Paddle-boarding also easily available on these beaches. Bridgetown walkable, loads of public transport both ways along the coast. Good big supermarkets within 10 minutes on bus. Plenty of eating options to suit any range within walking. St Lawrence Gap, Oistins 12 minute bus ride. Take a tour of Mount Gay visitor centre early doors and load up on discounted rum. Chris prefers XO, and rightly so!

  • Firstly a huge thank you for Christopher's wonderful hospitality!!! Having visited Barbados many times before , this last trip was to celebrate my 40th birthday. Chris was best host and the property was absolutely fantastic. Brilliant location, the standard of the property and amenities all made this a truly great place. We were catered for in every way possible to make us feel comfortable. Chris was very friendly and offer us his exceptional local knowledge and of the island. Great places to visit / eat and that we would have never of found or had even heard of previously. Anyone thinking of staying here, it's a must!!! as I work for a global travel management company and stayed in hotels around the world, staying here was very refreshing. In all honesty the pictures doe do do it justice. Thank you for been a great host and cannot wait to return to your property.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Simone's home and the communication was great. Her home had all the essentials one would require. She definitely considered the needs of her guest and is a good ambassador for Air BnB. If you intend on soaking up the nightlife be prepared to incur the cost of a taxi. Simone would be able to recommend a few reliable ones. The access to the public transport is approx 10 mins walk away and operate regular throughout the day. My experience was a great one.

Located in a safe, friendly neighborhood.Close to public transportation.5 minute walk/2 minute drive from one of the best beaches on the island. We are located close to the Hastings/Rockely area which has many bars, restaurants and shops. Gas station a few minutes walk as well. Bridgetown is less than a 10 minute drive away. One of the hosts lives in the downstairs apartment so we will always be easy to reach. Our place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups
    All three bedrooms have AC.
Our neighborhood is a family friendly, close knit neighborhood. It is relatively quiet. One of the hosts lives in the downstairs apartment so if they are any issues you can get in contact with us very easily.
  • Very great experience staying at Maria and Michelle's airbnb! Very clean upon arrival and everything stated was included in the accommodations. Owners are located in the bottom floor of the house but very respectful and friendly. Good communication and very helpful before and during stay! - <10 minutes drive with vehicle. - With a larger group, it would have been helpful to have a second set of keys - Very quiet neighbourhood - Laundry good Thank you Maria, Michelle and Kim for a wonderful stay!

  • Perfect trip to Barbados thanks to this apartment! Great location, well-decorated, well-equipped kitchen, lovely terrace, fast wifi, very comfy beds, big bath and beach towels provided... Michelle and her mother were really welcoming, gave us lots of useful info about the area and I was able to get in touch with Michelle instantly if we had any questions. We had such a good few days and were really sad to leave such a nice place! The only thing you could note is that 1 out of the 3 bedrooms doesn't have air con and the showers weren't particularly powerful - but neither issues bothered us really. Would also like to recommend the local car rental company Bajan Car Rentals (or also known as Chelsea Motors), who are just round the corner from the property - really cheap and friendly service, nice change from the big international companies. I'd also say it's worth checking out some of Michelle's recommended restaurants/bars indicated on the map as we visited a fair few and enjoyed every single one!

    Caitlin2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very spacious with three bedrooms each with air conditioning, large kitchen, dining room and living room and a very nice balcony with views of neighbourhood including trees, passing monkeys and exotic birds. Entrance is gained via an external staircase. The apartment is in a quiet residential area and only 5 minutes walk to an idyllic beach. The local ZR minibuses are only $1 and take you along the south coast, Bridgetown and other parts of the island - be prepared for a crowded, ride enjoying the local carnival atmosphere! We did not meet Maria or Michelle during our stay but their mother greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour of the local area. She lives below and attended to issues as they arose. We very much enjoyed our stay and the apartment was an ideal base.

  • We are a family of 5 and felt very welcome and comfortable in this space. The neighborhood was very quiet and we always felt safe. The host was great and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

    Ricardo2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of five friends that stayed at Maria and Michelle's and we absolutely loved it! It was very clean, the AC worked well, and it had everything we could have needed, including containers for leftovers, beach towels, and board games. The best part was the location which absolutely couldn't be beat. The gas station on the end of the road had a convenience store with lots of essentials, and right in front of it was the bus stop to the city. A little further was the beach, about seven minutes walk from the house. The water was beautiful and there's a shipwreck in the middle of the bay that is really cool and easily accesible from shore (it's by an orange and white buoy, just look for all the tours going there) The resturants on the beach are all really nice, however a lot of them close for dinner since that's when the cruise ships leave. If you want a local bar, Doris's bar (lots of red picnic tables next to copacabana) was really cool and I highly recommend checking it out. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't have changed anything about it. Thanks Maria and Michelle!

    • Apartment is in a peaceful complex • Just 2-minute's walk from local transport/beaches/convenience store
  • Thanks Craig for a great stay. Nice apartment in an excellent location. Everything very smooth from the beginning of the stay when met by Jillian with the keys. The apartment is extremely well-appointed with everything you could possibly need for a short or even longer stay. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

    Grenville 2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Craig's place is very conveniently located about 2 minutes from the beach (tip - cut through the Yacht Club), 20mins walk along the beach from the centre of Bridgetown, and just around the corner from the Garrison. The petrol station is handy for snacks and the plaza across the road has Chinese, Indian, Lebanese and Jamaican cafes. The flat itself is well equipped, secure and comfortable, and when there's a slightest breeze, it can feel refreshingly cool if you've been lazing around the pool watching the hummingbirds flit to and fro. I was warmly welcomed by Craig's mother, who checked in on me by phone to make sure things were OK. As well as some fantastic diving with EcoDive, I had a very relaxing week in Barbados and enjoyed staying at Craig's flat and would definitely recommend it to both single travellers and couples who want to avoid the typical hotel holiday.

    Jane2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Craig's mother welcomed us to the apartment when we arrived, so getting settled in was easy and fast. The space is great, loved the little backyard with a few chairs, was perfect for a morning coffee before hitting the beach. Speaking of which, the location is superb. It's a short walk to Carlisle Bay (incredible beach, white sand, literally thousands of little fish in the shallows), very close to transport on the main road, and has a petrol station around the corner if you need to pick up any basics. We had a car, and Craigs place is well located to easily connect to highways, zoom down the road to bars and restaurants or just head into Bridgetown. A note that I missed when booking is that there was no air conditioning during our stay — which wasn't a problem at all (the windows in the flat all open up nicely to let the breeze in), but worth mentioning if you are a particular sleeper. Would definitely stay here again!

    Elliott2015-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and l enjoyed our stay here, we were welcomed by Craigs mother Jillian who gave us a rundown of the apartment and the grounds. The location couldnt be more perfect, not far from Bridgetowns shopping and friday nights at Oistens and The Gap. While we rented a car to enjoy the whole island we used the reggae vans the first couple of days that took us wherever we wanted to go and they are a 2 min walk from the apartment. The gas station around the corner came in handy at night to pick up some snacks or drinks. The neighbourhood is safe and was refreshing to get a good morning and good night from from people walking the streets. We would stay here again on our next trip without a doubt. While we didnt her during our stay Jillian was just a phone call away to help if we needed anything. Thank you Craig for the use of your apt we had a blast

    ian2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Barbados was very enjoyable and due to a large part by the place we stayed at. Craig responded in an appropriate time frame to questions prior to our arrival. His mother was waiting for us and pointed out all the amenities. This was our first visit to Barbados and the accommodations were pleasing. The apartment was a short distance from the beaches. We were able to secure simple food items from the corner store. The location is in the historic Garrison district. Craig's description is quite accurate. Given the opportunity to visit Barbados again, we would consider Airbnb and Craig's place.

    Anita2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Craigs apartment was excellent for our trip. Close to carlisle bay, lovely walk to bridgetown along the beach. There were busses from just outside the nearby petrol station, which has a small shop for essentials. Brown Sugar restaurant (2 minutes walk) is excellent. The pool was very quiet with shady garden. There is a covered patio.

    Robert2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Creg was really communicative, his mum welcomed us in the apr. and showed us the basics of the place and neighborhood. The place is just as in the photos, everything is clean and taken care of.

Joyce Villa is near the famous Garrison Savannah in St Michael Barbados and several white sand beaches nearby. It is also very near and within walking distance into the main city Bridgetown with all the sights and sounds of this very mature destination.
The neighbourhood is suburban and easy to get around. A quick walk to the gas station at the west end of Chelsea road on bay street will also put you at the bus stop to or out of Bridgetown.
  • Joyce has 4 seperate rooms which are apartments, with ensuites, a fridge, a comfortable single lounge chair, cooking facility available, and with your own entrance. Ours had a double bed, TV and air con. We were very relaxed & comfortable with a stay of 9 days. Joyce is a real gem, as she is very friendly and always with a smile. She was like a sister, it felt like we had known each other forever, that's just the way she is. To give guests an idea of where Joyce's place is, it's a short 3 minute walk to the Barbados Yact club and the beach. Little buses run from the main road, Hay street to Bridgetown non-stop for $2.00 Barbados. OR a 30 minute walk to Bridgetown via the road, or 25 minute walk along the beach. (For walking that's the best as walking in the hard sand in the water is refreshing) Joyce's Neighbourhood is very safe, and all the neighbours were very friendly, and always greeted us with a pleasant smile and hello. Good shopping in Bridgetown with lots of cheap clothing shopping. A local person told us to try the shop S.Y Adams in High Street, if you're on a budget, as it has the cheapest prices and good selection of men's, ladies & childrens and useful souvineers for a reasonable price. We certainly recommend staying with Joyce.

    Rhonda2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Place need a bit more renovation, updated kitchen equipment's and utensils for a letting for 4 bed and 4 bath there was only enough stuff for 1 and half persons. 2 bed, bathroom and one kitchen and living room at front of the property. At the back of property is the 3rd bedroom with 1 double bed and single bed close to each other with Air conditioning which as the en suite bathroom. There is a kitchen area with a space for a 4th bed bascially in the kitchen itself. There is a washing machine available. Other people live on property as well but down stairs they are really nice and friendly. The most beautiful beach is only 10mins walk away 'Pebbles beach' don't let the name fool you its sand is so soft it melts under your feet, close bus ride to ostins where they have fish fry on Fridays and about 15 min walk up the road is a great night club called 'Harbour Lights' pay 60 Barbadian dollars to get in and drinks all night free and there is good food there. They offer good latest music with soca great vibes. Also next to the club is Browns beach which is around 10-15 min walk. The 2 dollars bus run frequently so never long to get to town or around. Everyone's friendly and the place is very peaceful. The sun is hot but lovely just have lots of sun cream with you. I would recommend Joyce villas more for older people or back packers or a couple with 1 child. We will be visiting Barbados again but would like to visit somewhere more modernised. Joyce our host was very hospitable overall 3 out of 5.

  • Our stay at Cheltenham House was wonderful. Everything was as described and depicted in the photos. The house sits in a very quiet location and has a lot of natural light. Jocelyn, the housekeeper, had breakfast supplies waiting for us upon our arrival in the refrigerator. The kitchen was well equipped. The air conditioning in the bedroom worked excellent. The WIFI worked well. It is a quick 5 to 7 minute walk to the beach. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Donna2016-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Cheltenham House was as described, truly charming and on a quiet cul-de-sac street. It's location made it an easy walk to the beach, especially to our favorite beach, Brown's beach. The house came fully stocked with necessities and accessories to help us settle into our home away from home. We would not hesitate in booking this house again in the future and would highly recommend it friends and family!

  • Great location, walking distance to beach. House was perfect for our group of 5, everything we needed and more was available. Sonia was quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend and plan to go back!

    Marisa2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia's was very proactive in making sure we were taken care of. She communicated frequently and had her housekeeper walk us through all the information we needed on the first night. The place was spotless, decked out with towels, beach bags and she even left some groceries for breakfast in the fridge. We really loved staying there. Thank you for taking care of us, Sonia!

    Simone2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this house, it made us feel as if we lived there. Very spacious and equipped with everything you need. Location was great. Walking distance to the Hilton Hotel, Radisson, Harbour Lights, Brown Sugar Restaurant and a beautiful beach in Carlisle Bay. We highly recommend the Cheltenham House. The Host Jocelyn was very helpful and always available for any question we had.

    Margarita2015-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cheltenham house was perfect for my needs. Very close to Carlisle bay for sunrise exercise and sunset swims, and close to down-town Bridgetown for work. The place was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. I was greeted when I first arrived and given a detailed run down and numbers to call if there were any issues. Staying here ensured my time in Barbados went very smoothly.

  • We were a group of 4 friends in Barbados for 5 days for the Crop Over celebrations and a great time there. We had a very pleasant stay, place was ideally located i.e. close to Bridgetown and other soca fetes venues. The place is a mere 10-min walk to the beach in Carlisle Bay. There are a few small restaurants as well in the area and if you need last minute groceries you can just go to nearby gas station but main convenience stores are a short bus ride away. From there; you can also easily catch a bus to St Lawrence Gap, Oistins etc... The house amenitities were accurate and as described in the advert. Special thanks to Jocelyne - the housekeeper- who helped during the check-in and gave us many many tips about things to do in the area. Thanks for having us !!!

  • This is a quiet neighbourhood near a public bus route, but there are no local shops or neighbourhood restaurants/cafes but with a hire car the difficulties would be overcome and it would provide a very good affordable base for a visit.

  • Outstanding stay thanks to Lynette! Very clean and organized place, and quite a value for the price. Highly recommendable!!!!

    Richard2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The manager was wonderful, picked me up and gave a mini tour of Bridgetown. House was in great condition. However the location was hard to walk to and I didn’t feel safe walking there at night. Place is great if you’re an adventurous person and on a budget but in the end the location wasn’t for me.

    Joe2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Trying to organise check in was very difficult. The house is not on beckles road as advertised and is instead on a small backstreet which is difficult to find - even when your local taxi driver talks directly to Lynette! I was met by the housekeeper ionie who was absolutely lovely. She even walked me to and from the local minimart so I could get some supplies before she left. However once I checked in there was no wifi password available and when I phoned I was not able to be provided with one for a while as the owner did not know the password or where it would be. The area was described by the housekeeper as 'safe' but not somewhere I should walk at night. This was not something I wanted to hear as a single female staying there. The house was clean and spacious. Excellent air conditioning. And comfortable.

    Lexie2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place and fairly well maintained. Air conditioning only in the bedrooms. With short cut through neighborhood only half mile from the beach. Very poor communication with owner and manager

    Patrick2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bungalow was perfect, really clean, neat, spacious with a little backyard. The neighbourhood was calm and neighbours was nice and helpful. The bungalow was close to the beach about 10min walk. From the bungalow you can take a nice walk through the beach to the city center. The nearest beach was perfect and beautiful with really calm water. Lynette respond quickly and make sure everything is ok, even when we arrive a day earlier she managed a place to sleep for us.

A charming 2 bedroom duplex with garden. Located around famous Garrison Savannah. Within walking distance to several beautiful beaches. Easily accessible to public transport. Near to all amenities. Caribbean style furnishing. Fully equipped kitchen.
The duplex has an open plan living and dining room with a cozy patio, 2 separate bedrooms and bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen providing all the creature comfort of home.
The duplex is situated off the famous Garrison Savannah race track within the World Heritage Site
  • The room is well equipped, including air conditioning, storage for my entire wardrobe (bigger than my one at home!). The house is lovely, fantastic Caribbean feel to it and it has all the equipment we needed - massive fridge (pre-stocked with some essentials for that first day), coffee machine, grill, stove, oven, etc. There is a lovely dinning room and lounge downstairs and a great bathroom upstairs with a massive shower and loads of hot water. This really is a great place to stay. We walked 50m to the main road where there were busses and mini van taxis to take us anywhere we wanted to go. The beach was less than a mile from the house just down the hill. Nadja is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and Barbados in general and she has a generous spirit. We will most definitely be back to stay here as soon as possible.

    Julio2017-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Nadja's place is nearby to several beaches including Carlisle Bay (5 min walk) and Accra beach (15 min walk). She is also close to St. Lawrence gap which has many nice restaurants and nightlife. The bus system is easy to use and very inexpensive. Nadja was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed, even going the extra mile to pick up a few breakfast items and dropping us at the beach on arrival. The apartment common areas are shared with other renters, but this was no problem for us as we preferred to spend our time out site seeing. Overall, if we return to Barbados in the future we'd love to stay again with Nadja.

    Crystal2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was my last minute search but it turned out to be the most pleasant place I could have imagine for my one week stay in Barbados. It is located in historical but very quiet area, 7 minutes walk to beautiful Pebbels beach, 5 minutes from great coffee at George Washington house. Nadja was the best host you can imagine, she takes very good care of the place and guests, it is designed with delicate style and feels like a perfect place to recharge your energy. I highly recommend. Thank you!

    Karel2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first traveling via Airbnb and it was great. Thanks to Nadja meeting me right at the airport, first day on the island it's not so obvious to deal with local addresses. The house is very nice, white, clean and calm :) the room is on the second floor, on the first is a well equipped kitchen and very cute living room. The house is in 5 minutes walking distance to the nearest beach at Radisson resort. 15-20 minutes walk to Bridgetown. Nadja is a very communicative person and advised a lot of a nice places to visit.

  • Nadja's apartment is a lovely place, tastefully furnished, spacious and cozy. We particularly liked the intimate porch in the backyard, a great spot for breakfast while you spot monkeys beyond the fence of beautiful bougainvillea. The apartment is located in the historical district, just off the Garrison, a short walk to the Barbados museum and the Washington House museum, 10 min walk to the beach, and a few minutes drive to restaurants and amenities. Nadja is a great host, sweet and generous with her time, she will make you fell like at home.

My place is very close to Pebbles Beach and Browns beach. Family-friendly activities at the beach such as swimming, snorkeling, paddleboard rentals, jetskis, and catamarans. At the end of your day, you can go downstairs for a quick, cool dip in the onsite pool. It is good for couples, adventurers, families with kids(max 4 people). Just a 4min walk to the beach for fun,sun and surf! It's a good little place to stay while you are touring the island. Just minutes from Bridgetown, via bus or ZR.
It's a cozy condo where you can stay while you explore beautiful Barbados! 4 minute walk to the beautiful Pebbles Beach and Browns Beach. 2 bedroom condo. 1 king bed and 2 single beds only. 1 bathroom with standup shower.
Pebbles beach, the most beautiful beach in Barbados, is a 4 min walk from the condo. A beautiful beach to swim and have fun at. Caribbean side beaches are the best on the island. There are great places to have lunch or dinner in that area. Cruising Club or Cuz's shack for the best fish cutters! (fish on a bun, cheap!) Within walking distance. There are ZR'S or cabs which can take you where you want to go..to malls and restaurants. Sky mall and Sheridon mall are great for shopping. Going/walking into Bridgetown etc at night is not safe and would not suggest it.
  • Wonderful location ideal for the beach and easy to get into Bridgetown or off to the east of the island. Dayle is attentive but not on top of you -just right

    irvine2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dayle's condo was comfortable, relaxing and very quiet. It was a walk away to pebbles beach and Harbor Lights which is a place for a night of dancing, music, food, and all you can drink cocktails. It was also a walk away from the bus stop (2 BDS and 1 USD) to the Lawrence Gap also another popular place for an evening dinner, music, and more dancing. The condo is quiet and very safe. I didnt have the pleasure of meeting Dayle in person, but she was available by phone and email with a less than 5 min response. She was great! Theres also a great map of Barbados if your looking for directions. If im ever in Barbados again, this is exactly where I want to stay!!! Book it! You wont be disappointed. Convenience, relaxation, safety, and great accommodations sums up my stay!

  • We had a great time staying at Dayle's place! Its super close to the most beautiful beaches in Barbados, where you can snorkel, swim with turtles and see shipwrecks. The apartment is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood. you will love the pool! Only one minute walk to cozy and fun bar with great food and public transportation which can take you to any corner of the island(nightlife, shopping, historic places etc.) Dayle was amazing host! She took care of our drive from the airport to the place. The driver she offered (his name is Angus) was very hospitable, friendly and on time. Dayle was always prompt to answer to all of our questions and made sure we feel comfortable and pleased. We had everything we needed to make this place our home for a week and we really enjoyed our vacation in Barbados! Will definitely return!

    Sim2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment located in save naiborhood, had everything for our comfortable stay as it was discribed, with a plenty of bath towels and staff for cooking. 3 min walk to the beautiful Pebbles beach, 1 min walk to bus and gas station. Dayle was excellent in resolving any issues or responding to any questions.

    Natalia2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean, simple place very close to the beach. Dayle was lovely during the booking process and up to check in. Did not meet Dayle in person but there were no problems at all with the place or check in and we would have been able to reach her if we needed to via the airbnb app.

    Clare2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dayles place is in a private apartment complex, with a lovely pool. Its just a few minutes from an amazing beach. Very easy access to public transport. Great apartment. Well equipped. Comfortable beds. Great location. Great value. Would definitely stay here again.

    Paul2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Dayle is an amazing host and responded very quickly to all our questions and concerns - we'd booked just before Irma, Maria & Jose decided to show and obliterate the other islands. She offers a wonderful two bedroom apartment next to one of my favourite beaches on the island (Brown's beach). We were met at the airport by Angus who drove us to the apartment via the supermarket to pick up a few bits for our first night. We were blown away by the spaciousness of the apartment - the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils and loved the fact there was a washing machine to save us from smelly beach towels during our second week..lol The apartment is fabulous for transport links, literally 5 mins walk to the nearest bus stop - No 11 - gets you into Bridgetown in no time or down the coast to Accra Beach or Oistins and only costs $2 (Bajan) We also walked into Bridgetown, which took around 20 mins or a little longer if you walk along the beach ;) Our favourite thing was sitting on the balcony watching the sunset with a cheeky rum and coke, listening to the crickets and tree frogs. It was our first trip using airbnb and we will definitely be booking again!

    Cheryl2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • House was great and Ann met us at the times we established. We got to visit her great cafe in St. Lawrence Gap and had an incredible time on the island. Earplugs for sleeping are helpful, as the house is near a main road. House is large, although we didn't spend much time there because we were on the beach most of the time. Easy access to the beach and we recommend a meal at Coffy's or Cuz's fish shack right near the house.

    Kevin 2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed as a group of 5, there was more than enough space for all of us. Ann was super helpful leading up to our stay. As others noted the no AC was not an issue for sleeping or hanging out. The kitchen is well equipped. The beach is seconds away and the location made it easy to get to some great spots nearby in just a short walk. It is on a main road though so if you're a light sleeper or not used to street noise bring a night mask and ear plugs. Would stay here again.

    Jen2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was excellent. Happy with the location, price, house & Host.

    Shay2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ann was very welcoming, she left work to check us in and give us local tips and suggestions needed for our stay. She even found us a driver during our stay. Very quick to respond with any questions we had. The house was as described and there are 2 full bathrooms in the house although there are no photos of them. Space is not an issue in the house, you could definitely fit a 6 or 7 people in the house comfortably. Unfortunately, all of our original guests didn't make the trip so we had a ton of room. Oh and there's a very unique stove that you must use! Sun Dale has a very central location, perfect for the crop over events we had planned (some walking distance) and it's close proximity to the beach was a plus! Grab your group and go!

    Simone2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very basic and noisy house but roomy. Right on a main road so traffic is incessant which means having the windows open to cope with heat makes the place almost impossible to sleep in the front bedroom. Not the nicest neighbourhood but a close walk to a decent beach but again not the most picturesque. Roughly equidistance between Bridgetown and Oistins though which is handy.

    Nick2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ann was very accommodating as we got in very late at night. The house was very spacious and more than enough room for the three of us. Location was very convenient, as it was right between the south side and west side. We had a great time, despite a small encounter with a local vagrant. We were able to get around easily, enjoy beautiful beaches, sample great food (definitely check out Sahara Grill), and meet friendly locals.

The hosts are probably the best hosts I've ever had at an AirBnB- they were beyond helpful and so kind. Wonderful host, such a perfect flat. Fantastic position. 7 min walking from the beach (close to Radisson and Hilton) 5 from main road, where u can take taxi and bus for Bridgetown city centre. She picked up me in the port (I came from a cruise) and took me to the flat, showing me everything around. Flat is clean, everything is nice, and inside u have all u need and more. My flight delayed and I stayed in the flat many hours after normal check out time. Thank you, Nadja!!!!

  • The apartment is super cool! It is very comfortable and breezy, and the kitchen has everything you could need! We felt right at home and the hosts did everything they could to make us feel welcome. They showed us around the island and showed us the best places to eat for our budget. The beach is a super close 4 minute or so walk and because it is so easy it feels like less. The bus is also cheap and simple and goes further down the road to another part of town that has a lot to offer. We used the bus almost every day to explore different beaches since there are so many. We were very happy we picked this area to stay because there were many options for food, beaches, shopping, drinks, snorkeling, and scuba diving. It is also a very friendly neighborhood; people are happy to help if you need directions. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • My family enjoyed the spacious and breezy atmosphere. They felt like they were at home. My family had no complains at all. The host lives close by, which the family thought was great in case they needed her.

  • Rachel is an amazing women! She took such great care of my friends and I. She made us breakfast every morning for only $5. She drove us around the entire island and showed us everything we needed to see. She made sure that cab drivers did not rip us off and told us the best places to visit. She made it feel like we had a Barbados mom to take care of us. I would highly recommend.

  • From the moment we booked their home for our 28 day vacation, Shelley and Manuel were there for us. Such friendly, generous hosts; so accommodating and with a wealth of information for all our questions. Their home is lovely, and very well equipped. We lacked nothing. Having Shelley and Manuel living right upstairs ensured we were well taken care of day and night. Each day started with our morning coffee on the beautiful veranda. If we planned a beach day, it was a short walk to the lovely Browne's Beach. The beach was calm enough for our limited swimming abilities, offered enough shaded areas, and the added security of the lifeguard was a bonus. Of course there are so many other beaches readily available, but we found this one to be our favourite. Taking public transportation opened up the whole island for exploration, dining, or shopping. Shelley was good enough to take us on a tour of some of the island's scenic spots, as well as driving us to and from various errands and restaurants...always with a cheery smile and some interesting island lore. Several good restaurants in the immediate area, as well as all the beach canteens for a quick snack or drink without leaving your prime beach spot. We couldn't have ordered a more fun, relaxing vacation with hosts who seemed like family. We will certainly miss Shelley and Manuel. How are we ever going to once again get used to our cold Canadian winter weather?!

  • We enjoyed our week in Dunloe Cottage enormously. Rachel and Manuel are perfect hosts. They could not have done more to make our stay so rewarding and enjoyable. The house is beautifully arranged and filled with the history of this special place. The beaches of Carlisle Bay are an easy walk for a pre-breakfast or early evening swim and are the bathing spots for locals as well as some tourists, making it all the more enjoyable. Rachel and Manuel are very generous with their knowledge - we especially appreciated learning about the food and gardens of Barbados. We look forward to our second visit!

  • We had a blast staying in Bridgetown! Shelley Made us feel very welcome to her AirBnB by showing us around the property & even offering to shop for fresh produce for us from local farmers' markets. The description of the property was accurate & understated. This property is both beautiful & eclectic, built from a modified Chattel House & located in a friendly neighborhood. This home is also packed with pieces of original art & a large library of interesting books... but we spent most of our time swimming at the beautiful Brown Beach just over one block away. Experiences like the Traditional 3BR Bajan Home is what makes AirBnB fun & economical. We met friendly locals and people from around the world! Shelley gave us many tips on ways to have the best local experiences possible. We are eagerly awaiting a return trip to this AirBnB! We had a wonderful time being as "local" as we have ever been in a foreign country!

  • We finally arrived after a 7 hour flight delay after 9pm and were greeted by our hosts, given a tour of the facilities, followed by some lovely fresh food that Rachel has prepared for us. Over breakfast we got the lowdown on the area, how to find places, local transport and where to buy food. Rachel was happy to buy food for us, recommend restaurants and take us places in her car, which turned out to be a very welcome and safer option that some of the buses- which is another story. The description of the house was accurate it was nicely presented and clean. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs as there are roosters who seem to never sleep, other wildlife making noises and the occasional heavy rain storms. The bedrooms have no air conditioning, which was fine during our visit in April and the beds are equipped with mosquito nets. We were a party of 6 attending a sailing event at the Yacht club, which was a 15 minute walk from the house down a residential road and along the beautiful beach. All the local residents were very friendly and willing to engage in conversation and we had no issues over the 15 days. In summary we had a great time and would be happy to make it our base if we are lucky enough to return to the island some day.

  • We had a lovely time at Rachel`s house and did enjoy her hospitality and spirituality. The house in itself is a place of joy and good art and at the same time it gives relaxation. Far from the hotels but close to Barbados and with Shelly`s help close to good food and places worth visiting.
