Carna Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Carna

Our home is set on a beautiful site on the Wild Atlantic way. It has amazing views of the sea, the Twelve Bens mountains, Beirteach Bay and across to Roundstone. Just beside the Wild Atlantic way viewing point the landscape is untouched and is perfect for walkers, cyclists and artists. We are a walk away from a bar, restaurant and craftshop. We are just 5 minutes drive from Carna village and less than that from our beautiful local beaches. We are just 20 minutes from Clifden, Kylemore Abbey
  • Maureen was very lovely. The room was perfect and the beds so, so comfortable. I'd a great night sleep and the location is beautiful if a little misty, ha!

  • Highly recommend! Beautiful views of the water and mountains!

    Jessie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen's house is beautiful with lovely scenic sea views. She is a great hostess and helped me recover lost phone and sunglasses! I slept really well in my lovely soft bed. The bedroom and bathroom are large and comfortable and the house was nice and warm, especially when Maureen lit the open fire in the sitting room. Lovely! The area is lovely and the neighbours very kind and helpful, giving a lift, bringing back lost objects.

  • I had such a nice stay. Maureen was so accommodating and friendly. I also felt like I had privacy and was respected and welcome. I will stay again as it is the perfect home away from home in one of the most stunning corners of the earth. Make her place your "go to" for Connemara.

    Dawn2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best place I have ever stayed on AirBnB! Maureen is very friendly and welcoming. I had a lovely big clean comfortable bedroom with en-suite bathroom. I was given tea and scones in the comfortable sitting room with roaring log fire when I arrived. The house is beautiful and has wonderful views of the sea and mountains. It is also really quiet. Finally there is also a great breakfast in the morning. Thank you for a perfect stay!

    Ed2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen and John are wonderful hosts - friendly and non-intrusive. John generously directed us to beautiful places to hike in Connemara and lit peat fires in the fireplace for us each evening. Maureen's breakfasts are worth the stay at Tigh Seioge alone! Tigh Seioge sits alongside Betraghboy Bay and has stunning views of the water and the Twelve Bens. Staying here we were able to get a true sense of the haunting grandeur of the landscape that the poet John O'Donahue describes. So glad we stayed here and not in Roundstone across the Bay which sadly seems trampled by tourists.

    Kathryn2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem. Wonderful place to stay with some of the best breakfasts made up fresh by Maureen every morning. Beautiful coastal country side all around. The host are more than generous to share local knowledge and offer an exceptionally comfortable accommodations.

  • Our stay at Maureens place was pure delight! Fireplace, the scones, the breakfast, the view, and the night stars… Highly recommended! Definitely would stay again when passing through.

A recently renovated cottage nestled in the heart of Connemara.
  • Great place as long as you don't mind to travel a bit into remote location. The views are great all around and the place itself is awesome as well - huge and clean. As it is really remote location you might have problems with your carrier coverage.

    Martin2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay, exceptionally clean, homemade bread, milk etc on arrival which was very thoughtful. Quiet and secluded, perfect for a restful break away. We would highly recommend it and would have no hesitation in returning

  • The house was perfect, clean and homely. Location wise it was ideal for our tour of Connemara. Maria was very quick to respond to any queries we had both about he house and the area, will definetly return.

    Patrick2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and home. Very clean, comfortable and new. It's located in a lovely region with a wonderful environment. If you have time to drive to Connemara heart then this is your place to stay. Maria has been very kind, she took care of everything, giving us tips to discover the region and helping us to easily check in and check out. Hope you will enjoy the home as much as we did!!!

    Carlo2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house might not look like much from the outside, but it is really nicely renovated and spotless clean. The three bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. The communication via text with Maria went very well. The area it stunningly beautiful and Connemara National Park close by. Even just stepping out of the front door and taking a walk is really nice. I can absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for a house (e.g. family vacation) with stunning nature. If you like a choice of pubs close by, maybe not. However, for some local feeling, there is a pub in Carna.

    Marc2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, the house very comfortable and has everything you need! Maria was a great host left milk, bread and biscuits for us. Also texted on our way in and recommended few places around the area!

  • A very quiet place in a beautiful location Ideal for relaxation and some lovely local walks

    Peter2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very recently renovated property, everything very new, nicely finished and spotlessly clean. All amenities provided, the host had very kindly left milk in the fridge, cleaning products, toiletries and even a lovely wheaten bread for us to enjoy! Maria provided clear instructions on how to get to the property and was very flexible on our late arrival time. The host was available if required but allowed us to enjoy our trip without being disturbed - something we greatly appreciated. Remote location but that was the point for us! Local village with shops available for essentials is a short drive away. We were amazed at the quality of what was provided for such a reasonable price, would be a fantastic property for a family or group of friends, with 3 very decent sized bedrooms and all amenities provided. Mobile signal is ropey and there is no wifi but we considered this part of the peaceful experience! A wild, rugged and beautiful location made this the perfect get away for us. Many thanks Maria, we feel this is a high quality offering which provides a excellent value of money. We highly recommend and hope to return soon.

  • We spent a fabulous week in Nuala's house. The views are amazing, the house is very comfortable and well equipped. Nuala was really welcoming, provided a very thoughtfully stocked fridge for our arrival and put us in touch with the lovely Michael and Tina in Ardmore for kayaking. It is a gorgeous part of Connemara. We'd love to go back. Thanks Nuala.

  • We stayed for five nights here in July 2017 while travelling the western coast. The house is beautifully located with a fantastic view to the sea from the terrace, living room and the big bed room on the first floor. Check-in and all communication was easy going and supportive. If you`re going to Connemara, Galway, Aran Islands or even the Burren, this is a perfect location to stay and explore the region.

    Frank2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thank, Nuala leaving us her wonderful house in this peaceful, quiet region of Connemara. The view from the panoramic-windows took our breaths away. We had a warm welcome (and a really nice and delicious "starter-pack") from Nuala. We really felt at home in the house !!! The equipment was excelent, everything clean and comfortable. We enjoyed every of our 7 days there ! The Kilkieren-Bay and whole area is a fantastic place for relaxation. Walks on lovely beaches nearby, trips to Cliften and the surroundings are beautiful. Nuala gave us helpful recommendations for trips and stayed in a friendly contact with us all over the time. We really can recommend this beautiful place !!!

  • Nuala was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. We had a great time at her place. It's a a quiet clean house, very well equipped. We had cosy bedrooms with the bathrooms nearby. Nuala was very helpful with local information, the local pub was very nice and friendly and served very good food and drinks. We had very enjoyable days on the Connemara countryside, and can warmly recommend the location with a great view to the sea and surroundings form the terrace and the rooms. Thanks very much Nuala.

  • Thank you!! Our trip was great and everything was perfect, especially when we had a minor water issue, the response was great, thanks!!

  • Nuala was great & down to earth, when we arrived we received a warm welcome, a tour of the house, a rundown on the facilities & some information on the surrounding area's. There was fresh milk, tea bags, coffee, bread & other food stuffs available to us. The house was wonderful, comfortable, spacious, great views & spotless. On sunny days we went to Roundstone which is only 30min away with amazing beaches & when it rained we travelled to Salt hill & the kids had great fun in Leisure land & the aquarium. A great break away for the family & we loved it.

  • Amazing guests and cottage in the middle of the Connemara!! We met Micheal, Niamh's father, at the local pub and he spent time with us to explain all the house commodities. He also gave us some tips to visit the area and shared his knowledge on Irish culture. We definitely recommend this beautiful and comfortable cottage to visit the Connemara!

    Camille2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough about the hospitality we were shown by Niamh's family. We arrived Good Friday...not only were we we met with a warm hug and kiss from Maggie, we were supplied with a cupboard full of food to cover any basics, electric bankets on, a blazing fire and Maggie returned a half hour later with a bottle of wine in case we'd forgotten that the pubs were closed. This place is a real gem. The house itself is full of beautiful touches like the Indian silk bedcovers. The location is just incredible, a view of the sea, a stream running through the garden and the village just a 4min cycle away, gorgeous walks and Islands to visit nearby. This is the perfect getaway and you'll leave feeling like you've got family to return to in Connemara! :) Míle buíochas Maggie agus Niamh! Elaine, Elisabeth, Soazig

  • A great place to stay and see Connemara area of Ireland . The Pearce cottage visitor center is a must stop !

    Kathryn2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • "Wonderful." "Peaceful." "Amazing." Lots of other superlative compliments I could come up with here. We absolutely loved our stay here. My son (age 2) adored the flowers, creek, and ponies. We enjoyed the quiet at night and views of the sea and stars. I highly recommend this location if you're interested in a weekend away from the city. Also, it has to be said that the heated blankets and bathtub upstairs with the skylight -- perfect.

    Rachelle2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage and piece of history this property is! You can imagine Michael's ancestors building their cottage next to the waterfall claiming their own piece of heaven. A little off the beaten path with a ton of scenery in the area. A great place to get away.

    Jeremy2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • A Perfect Place to Call Home Our family travels quite a bit and we have also spent time in Airbnbs. It's almost always been a decent experience. But staying at Michael's cottage in Kilkiernan was special. It was different because of the care and love Michael and his family have for this little spot in Ireland and they want you to know why it is the place they call home. This spirit infused everything about our experience, from how we were met upon arrival, to the little details and coziness of this cottage, to the tour of the area Michael gave to us, to the stories he told us about the cottage and how it came to be in his family. The cottage is very comfortable for a family. Plenty of space, modern kitchen/bathrooms, windows and skylights to let in the beautiful light of Connemara, views of the sea and landscape. If you have kids, the presence of 4 Shetland ponies on the property is sort of amazing. The beds are very comfortable with electric blankets for damp days and the fireplace is a total joy. (Peat is provided). The location is great if you have a car and are willing to drive a bit to get to the bigger tourist sites such as Galway, Connemara National Park, etc. But the countryside is beautiful and the drives are just lovely. Lastly, if you travel to really know a place. If you want to know where you are, you have to be introduced by people who live there and love it. Michael and his family provide that kind of hosting. I would highly recommend taking him up on his offers to show you the region and his offer to tell you more about his family's life in Kilkiernan.

    Doran2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cottage ! The place is really nice, we were six so we had enough space with the four bedrooms. We were welcome by Niamh's parents who are so gentle. A fire was light and the chemney. There was fruits, bread and some other food for us. We recommand this beautifull cottage for anybody who wants to stay in Connemara.

    Alex2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • I met Micheál who is Niamh's father, he was absolutely kind and generous. The cottage is also awesome. Clean, cozy, warm and fully equipped. Micheál gave us a lot of information, food, everything he can give! So We stayed one more day than we planed before. If I can, I just want to go back there even only for the house and them. Thanks for them a lot, truly I want to visit again. Thanks, Niamh and Micheál.

  • If you're looking for a true off-the-beaten-path experience in Connemara, Suzanne's lovely cottage is for you! It's quiet (except for the occasional charming moo from her family cows) and the nearby beaches on Mweenish Island are spectacular. Suzanne and her family are perhaps the most hospitable people I've ever stayed with. They made sure I had everything I needed, even making wonderful bread and homemade rhubarb jam for breakfast. I cannot recommend Suzanne's place highly enough, and you won't find warmer or kinder people to stay with anywhere!

    Sarah2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can't put into words how good my experience was in Old Barn Cottage but here goes. From the moment me and my girlfriend arrived we felt right at home. Suzanne and her very welcoming family made us feel like we had known each other for years. We were given everything we needed in the cottage and it's location was as stunning as the welcome we received. This is a perfect place for a couple to spend any amount of time. Our only regret was we didn't have longer. Thank you for your superb hospitality.

    Robert2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • I loved everything about our two-night stay the Old Barn Cottage! We arrived from a long day of driving without stopping at a grocery before arriving, but the well-stocked welcome basket of fruit, homemade bread fresh out of the oven, and homemade rhubarb jam meant we were covered for breakfast! The cottage is cute, clean, convenient, and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed being able to barbecue our own dinner and eat outside on the private patio with views of the mountains (and a short visit from Suzanne's husband's cows coming in for their dinner). The booklet of information on restaurants, sights and activities in the Connemara area was also useful. I would recommend this listing to anyone wanting to slow down and enjoy all the stunning natural beauty the Connemara has to offer. Thank you Suzanne for an enjoyable stay!

    Noelle2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by a stunning landscape and just ten minutes walking to white sand beaches.. Suzanne and her family are great hosts, very nice and open people. Always ready to give a tip for your trip or try to make you feel comfortable. Their welcome pack included a home made bread and jam(delicious!). A really special place and family.

  • We had a wonderful time at the Old Barn Cottage. It is spacious, lovingly decorated and perfectly clean. The location is very calm and simply beautiful! Suzanne and her family are wonderful hosts, they made us feel at home from the beginning. They gave us very good and detailed recommendations for our day trip. And with the provided homemade jam and traditional bread we had a perfect start into the day. Thanks a lot for everything! Just recently finished this cosy cabin has all the mod cons. 2 Double bed rooms, kitchen/dinning/living area, bathroom (electric shower), oil heating, wide screen TV/ DVD. 2minute walk from the local pub and shop, 5min walk to the beach.
It is a boutique log cabin in the heart of Conamara. Suitable for a couple. Too small for a family I'm afraid.
It is a quiet village, you are near the pub, shop and beaches. Friendly locals and an ideal Location for touring Connemara- near Clifden, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Roundstone, Pearse's Cottage.
  • The log cabin in Connemara was a lovely escape from everything. It was warm and cosy , very comfortable and Tina was very welcoming. I loved the beach where you could walk for hours and continue along the rocks when the tide was out. Thank you.

  • My sister and I had an amazing time at Sarah's little cabin. It was just perfect for our winter retreat. Honestly it's even better than it looks in the pictures, there are so many lovely little details in the cabin - they have thought of everything. It's clean, warm and cosy and just feels very special. The area is fantastic, it's quite remote and even in winter it was breathtakingly beautiful. The nearby beaches are rugged and beautiful. Sarah and her mum Tina could not have been nicer, or more accommodating. I'm looking forward to returning again. I'm sure it's even nicer in summer. Thanks Sarah for a lovely stay.

Overlooking Cill Chiaráin bay in the heart of the Gaeltacht, Carraig an Iolra B&B is situated in a wild and rugged landscape, reflected in the local folkloric tradition of storytelling, song, music and dance. There is an abundance of native flora and fauna. The wild flowers and medicinal plants that clothe the rocks and walls is food and forage for birds, bees and butterflies. See the otter, seal, porpoise, diver, curlew, shelduck, mallard, tern, kestrel, swallow and cuckoo compete with gull and crow. Be it from within the light-filled rooms or outside, the ever-changing light reflected in sea and sky will ground you.
A quiet rural area on the wild Atlantic way, in a Designated Special Area of Conservation, the homes here are locally owed and inhabited by the same families for generations. There are several safe beaches within 2-3kms. It is also safe to swim off the rocks on the shore in front of the B&B. The nearest shops and pubs are about 2km in the villages of Kilkieran and Ardmore. There is also a post office in Kilkieran and a playground and all-weather playing field a further 1km away. Tigh Chadhain's pub in Kilkieran does lunch and dinner whereas Tigh Mheaic and Óstán Chuan Charna also do food. Locally, the Binn Bhuí hill and Cnoc Mordán are relatively easy hills to climb for the amateur whilst the Twelve Bens and Maam Turks at approximately 25-30km will provide the enthusiastic climber with more of a challenge. Fishing and sailing trips can be organised for guests as well as nature, historical and archeological walks.
  • What a fantastic stay at Ainé's beautiful home in the Galway countryside. Carraig an Iolra is a tranquil setting with stunning views across the bay. Our room was spacious, meticulously tidy with everything you could need for a short break away from home. The living space attached to the bedroom is a great addition with a plethora of books to choose from which you can read whilst overlooking the stunning views from upstairs. Ainé could not have been more attentive. On our arrival we were served freshly made banana bread and we spent some time getting to know our host. Ainé is a fountain of knowledge on the local area and what a small country Ireland really is as it turned out she was my partner, Amy's, old Irish teacher so there was plenty of catching up to do! We did our own thing in the evening with some great recommendations for places to eat and to visit the next day. Breakfast the following morning was delightful. All organic produce with a hearty fry to keep us going for our trip to the Aran Isles, along with some extra banana bread for the journey! What really made this trip for us was the love that Ainé has for the local area which is clear to see with all the local initiatives she is involved in. Added to the fact that her dogs are just adorable, Jolie, Jessie and Prince we will be back to visit again soon! Ainé we cannot thank you enough for being a superb host and our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning in the not so distant future! Ross & Amy.

  • Aine has got the perfect balance between having your own space and sharing with someone. Through the front door you have a choice of going into your own upstairs apartment or continue through a door into the inviting warmth of Aines hospitality. The house itself is very interesting (for anyone into Grand Designs) and the biggest bonus was how welcoming our little dog was into her house. He was allowed to potter around and really enjoyed the big walks along the beautiful connermara coast at the foot of the house. Views great, distance to the Aran Island boat was very handy and banana bread (both types) were delicious. Outstanding host, i could have stayed and chatted for days.

    Marty2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Aine's place is in a beautiful location and our room was spacious and spotlessly clean! We had a lovely evening chatting to her and her husband.

    Joanna2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Aine's place was mindblowing. Plenty of space to yourself but the living room Aine uses always felt open to me and I spent most of my time talking to Aine in her living/dining room. The house was beautiful, and the conversation always interesting, and Aine made my time there. She helped me figure out what to do with my days, and also filled me in on a wealth of irish culture and language. Everyone I met in the area was lovely. I'm so glad I came to stay! The breakfast was also unbeatable. There aren't many food options in the area, so being set up so well at the start of the day with organic healthy foods and homemade bread was so good.

    Annes2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous location on the south Connemara coast. Better than that was Aine's graciousness as a host! She and her dogs stayed up late for our arrival, fed and regaled us during our stay, and offered great suggestions for sightseeing in & around Connemara. These 2 nights were a highlight of our trip to Ireland!

  • I would recommend staying at Carrig an Iolra with Áine. The guest rooms were spacious, bright, airy, spotlessly clean and most comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty, from the beautiful fresh berries, full Irish, homemade brown bread and a view to die for. Áine was good company and very knowledgable about the local area. We just love this part of Connemara and hopefully we will get back to stay again, only hope it will be for longer.

    Elizabeth2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • To cut to the chase: I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Carraig an Iolra (go as soon as you can for as long as you can); my only regret is that my visit could not have been much, much longer! West Connemara is astoundingly beautiful, but there is no part of it more distinctly breathtaking than where Áine's house is located. It was very difficult for me to motivate myself to tour around the area given how rich the experience was just walking down to the sea from the house or even just looking out its many large windows (though I am very happy I did make myself venture farther afield; there's much to enjoy in West Connemara!). The house itself is fantastic: it's spacious and extremely comfortable; the beds and bathroom are luxurious. Áine is a wonderful host. She took great care to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. But beyond that, she is a remarkable resource: her knowledge of the area is profound, both in terms of its natural ecology and culture (current and historical). I highly recommend you ask her questions! And the three dog's are great hosts as well. They are truly part of the family, extremely gracious and polite. I'm already looking forward to returning!

  • Im hesitant to share information about these beautiful hosts and their property as I want to keep them all for myself but ..I wouldnt do that.I arrived later than expected ,about (URL HIDDEN) was no problem .Aine and Raymond greeted us and their gorgeous dogs. The house is immaculate. I felt as though i was in a health retreat. The guest accomodation was spacious with a huge attention to detail.Bathroom shower was fantastic and a very comfortable bed with sea views from every window. After a lovely nights sleep ,my daughter and I not only enjoyed a 5 star breakfast but a Cead Mile failte from our hosts to match it.We had an interesting conversation sharing stories and many laughs.I could have stayed there for hours sipping the freshly made brewed coffee and enjoying the fresh fruit ,homemade bread jams, nuts to name but a few.My daughter is vegan and Aine made a huge effort to facilitate same.I will be back real soon..what a beautiful place..I watched a local fisherman team water from his fishing boat as i tidied my bags in preparation for leaving. What a magical place to live.Thank you sincerely. • The place was even more beautiful than shown on the website. It is a lovely, lovely setting!!! Very comfortable. Also, accessible to nearby beaches and golf -- my husband played at the Connemara golf links, not too far from Clifden, where they were very accommodating. We were in easy driving distance of the Kylemore Abbey. The location is very quiet.

  • My husband and myself and our 2 children spent an absolutely glorious few days in Oyster Cove Cottage... The house was perfect for us and the views out over the bay second to none! The weather was amazing and I sat outside with my coffee looking at the fishermen at the pier enjoying life away from the hassles of the big city! My 11 year old son watched some of your old classic videos and is now telling his friends how funny the Marx brothers are. Thanks Colm and Fionnuala for the use of your beautiful house!!

  • Lovely cottage in a waterside setting. We found everything we need in the cottage and loved the area which is in the heart of Connemara. There were donkeys, cows and much other wildlife to be seen from the balcony. Fully equipped accommodation with two double rooms with views across the bay.

  • Our stay at the cottage was perfect !! The cottage was excatly like the photos and maybe better tha our expectations :) The view for the dinning room is just amazing ! I really recommend it if you want to stay few days in the connemarra. The location is also really good. Thanks so much to Colm & Fionnuala.

  • We loved the amazing views and convenient location of this charming cottage. There were so many thing to do and explore in the area that we wished for a few more days! Colm gave us detailed instruction on how to find the cottage but we arrived after dark and couldn't spot it from the road. Lucky for us the pub down the road was a perfect place to stop for directions and a very much appreciated pint.

  • A wonderful bolthole in wild and beautiful Connemara. The photographs don’t really do justice to this charming cottage/apartment, which is extremely well-equipped, and perfect for both balmy evenings and chilly winter days. Comfy furnishings, great views, and piles of puzzles/games/DVDs. A great base for exploring the furthest reaches of the region.

  • Anne is a lovely woman! She even cooked some scrambled eggs in the morning! The place is very quiet despite the road and it's perfect if you visit Connemara and want to take the ferry to the Aran Islands. We had a good chat with Ann and we thank her for her hospitality.

  • Excellent in most aspects! Spotlessly clean and very well decorated house. Comfortable sunny room en suite. Very welcoming hosts with excellent attitude towards guests. Delicious rich breakfast. Due to the hosts being new to Airbnb, the communication with the hosts via regular Airbnb messaging didn't work. However it was not a problem communicating with them via phone calls. We had a perfect stay and would love to come back again one day!

  • Eileen was wonderful. We weren't able to cross paths more than once because of odd timing, but she had everything ready for us, and she was so flexible when we got into town late. Plus, what a beautiful spot! It was windy and grey, and it was perfect. Plus, the area is great. We went to the local pub (great food there by the way) after we got lost, and the owner helped us find our way!

    Killian2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Extremly nice location, extremly nice house, extremly nice host :-) Our room had private bathroom, just like in a hotel (closer to*****), but much nicer views, soft beds, extremly nice furniture... Eileen is making you feel extremly welcome, preparing breakfast, serving with tea, giving you informations... Everything nice up to the last detail. We really hope that we will be able to come back again!

  • The house is part of a very special landscape. You can enjoy the ocean sight in the morning during the breakfast starting the day in a good and relaxed mood. Location is also strategic for visiting aran islands, Galway, clifden, roundstone... if you are not scared to drive few kilometers in these wonderful lands. A very special mention is to our host Eileen, a kind lady, very friendly and welcoming. We stai ed in the main house and we could use her kitchen and the winter garden. Eileen provided everything for our breakfast, milk, cereals, jam, bread and also a coffee-pot. We loved talk to her, she's really a nice and gentle person. Highly highly recommended.

    Maria Antonietta2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were 3 friends and we spent a night in Eileen's home and everything was great, nice and clean. She was really welcoming, available and discreet as well. The house looked like on the pictures : it's a lovely and quiet place. We had a good breakfast with a beautiful view on the sea. We recommend !

    Hélène2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen's home is in an incredibly beautiful location, on its own little peninsula with the ocean practically on three sides! We had a fantastic sea view, and Eileen was wonderfully welcoming right from the start. Our rooms were clean, warm, and we had the luxury of a separate external entrance with its own key. The house is just half an hour from Rossaveal, where ferries leave for the Aran Islands, and it's in the heart of Connemara's incredible countryside. Our breakfasts were delightful, and we really appreciated Eileen's flexibility and friendliness. Would love to stay here again!

    Rachel2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen has been the most wonderful host, she sent us messages on how best to get there and was already waiting for us in the door when we came up the driveway : ) with some hot tea and shortbread for refreshment awaiting us - perfect. The rooms were wonderful and we slept so well in the dreamy beds. The location is absolutely stunning, with views over the bay while enjoying the breakfast, not to forget the multitude of rainbows greeting us daily. This was our first Airbnb-experience and it could not have been better. Thank you for being such a kind and generous host, Eileen, we hope to visit you again soon!

  • Great place to see the wilds of the Atlantic highway and Connemara. So many views ,don't forget your camera. Claire's place is a great place to stay, we didn't have control of the heating in the accommodation, it was controlled from the main house.Well equipped Stunning views from the lounge window. We didn't meet Claire, but her communication was good and her parents live in the house next door.

  • Claire responded to our questions very quickly and communications were excellant. The apartment was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was small but well equipped. Everything we needed was there. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather because the views were magnificent. There was a pub serving food as well as a small shop a stones throw away. The apartment is attached to a family home. Claire's Dad met us on arrival and showed us around. He was very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Our stay was a very pleasant experience.

    Paul & Barbara-Anne2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two days at Claire´s apartment and enjoyed it from the first minute! As it is on ntwo levels it is rather like a small house, and it contains everything you could possibly think of (apart from a pool table). In addition it is very cosy in it´s design etc., so we felt very much at home. As it rained quite a bit we enjoyed the comfort and homely atmosphere, while looking out through the large panorama windows to the bay and the mountain range opposite it. Michael (or Ciaran?) welcomed us at our arrival, showed us everything and even provided "European" adapters for electric appliances! Most considerate, really! He also gave us advice on seafood restaurants in the vicinity etc. and was all in all the perfect host! Also the environment is great, the pub only 200 meters away, Clifden not far - in short: this was one of the very best accommodations we had during our trip and we would certainly come back as soon as possible.

    stefan2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation is clean and comfortable, bedroom door doesn't shut as bed is big but it wasn't an issue for us. Electricity meter is unfortunate as was anxious we'd run out and so out 20 Euro in which turned out to be way too much. Overall a positive experience Thanks guys

• Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tigh Seoige. Exceeded my expectations. The tea and scones on my arrival went down a treat in front of the turf fire while admiring the view. The facilities were very good and very clean. Maureen was also very helpful.

    Breda2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen is such a lovely and warmhearted host - it was a real plasure to stay for two nights at her house. I was welcomed with tea, the room was spacious, the bed great and the ensuite-bath very clean. I could use the living room at any time and in the evening a fire was made. The breakfast was the best I had for years!. Next time Ireland -> Next time Maureen :)!

  • Wonderful home with amazing views. Very welcoming host, had lovely tea and scones upon a late arrival to a welcoming fireplace. Lovely packed lunch (at a small extra fee) curtsey of the host helped us get through the next day. Room and bed is lovely and the whole house had a welcome feel to it.

  • Atlantic Shore B&B and the surrounding area were a truly great combination and I feel privileged to have been able to visit. The house overlooks the wonderfully wild coastline. House, single carriageway, rocks, water, that's it! The location is quiet but there's a quality pub/restaurant down the road selling one of the better stouts that I tested on our tour around SE, S, and W. Ireland and homely large portions of well prepared food. Maureen's breakfasts are as good as, or better than, anything you'd expect in a quality hotel. The bedroom was also thoughtfully laid out to be that bolt hole you need after a days of driving/walking/exploring. And my wife absolutely loved the fire and the personal attention you provided when we needed to stay in for the afternoon.

    Christopher2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen's home is gorgeous and the setting is breathtaking. We really enjoyed exploring the area, the views are stunning. Our room was large, clean and had everything we needed. Maureen is a great cook, the breakfast was delicious!

    Marianne2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little piece of heaven. Maureen was a perfect host, and an immaculate attention to detail. Heavenly things for a traveler: great water pressure, a very comfortable bed and pillows, an inviting atmosphere that feels warm, a fireplace and fresh scones, all enveloped in a tremendous landscape. If I could take this BnB with me and place it at every location, I would be ecstatic.

Failte B&B is beautiful home situated in Kilkerrin a small fishing village located in the heart of the gaeltacht, the tradtional Irish speaking region in Connemara. We are within walking distance of a variety of local ammenities, a shop, post office, the local bistro and bar and in a perfect location for mountain walks and family trips along the wild atlantic way.
Kilkeran is an Irish speaking fishing village on the Atlantic ocean with it's own local traditions and customs. The annual boat race Feile na mBad can be seen from Kilkeran harbor can be seen during the first week of July and later in the year the village celebrates their annual festival for it's patron Saint Kieran on the 9th of September. We are near a local shop and post office, a children's playground and all weather pitch and near to the local pub and bistro, all within walking distance of the house.

    Dylan2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say.. It was one of the best B&B I've ever stayed in. Me and my wife were staying at Anne's place for a night. It was quite easy to find. House is located in a very scenic and quite location. There is a local shop and a pub nearby. The house is very spacious and clean. The room we were staying in was very clean and had one double bed and one single bed. The most exciting thing about the room was the view through the window. It's amazing! My wife enjoyed the shower a lot, it works perfectly :) After a good night sleep we had a very delicious Full-Irish breakfast. Anne was the most helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quite and scenic place to stay.

    Andrius2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully kept B&B by a very friendly (but not in your face) landlady. We would recommend the room with the ensuite, it had a gorgeous view out of the window across to the sea beyond and the rising sun. She accommodated our every need. And her cooked breakfast is really, very, very good. Ask her to direct you to the lovely secluded, east facing beach and rocks just a few miles away. Or, further afield, the huge, white, expansive beach just beyond Roundstone. There is a grocery shop within easy walking range in Kilkieran, plus a post office and a bistro (which we didn't try).

It's well equipped and Cliodhna's parents kindly provided milk / tea, fruit, cereal etc. There are some lovely walks in the area and house is less than 5 mins walk to Coyne's pub/bistro where we had great sea food and were treated to a wonderful evening of traditional music and dance on Sunday night.

    Margaret2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cottage. It is in a perfect location to explore Connemara and Aran Islands. Stunning Dog's Bay is close by. Great pub in the village with delicious food. The cottage is as advertised- great for families with kids - steeps stairs but our 7 and 4 years olds managed no problem. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back to spend more time in the beautiful Connemara!

    Dobrawa2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Although we did not meet Cliodhna, we met her parents. They were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. We would have no hesitation in recommending their place.

    mUNDO2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. It's central for getting to the north and south of the county and near some fantastic beaches and scenery. Its a safe environment and my kids had great fun and want to go back and play with the dogs!

    Brian2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, peaceful cottage with amazing views. We really enjoyed our stay, a perfect base from which to explore Connemara national park.

    Catherine2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Cliodhna's chalet. We were welcomed with fresh scones, provisions in the fridge and a friendly host. On top of the typical holiday help Cliodhna's son very kindly fixed our car too! The location is great, a wonderful pub at the end of the road, lovely walks on the hills, and a fabulous beach a short drive away. Close to tourist attractions but in a quiet village we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

    Fiona2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cliodhna's place was simply amazing. If you are looking to stay in a quiet, peaceful, beautiful, comfortable place, this is it. The view from the chalet is breathtaking; Cliodhna is helpful, knows the region well, and is very welcoming; and the area is vibrant and delightful. We even spent a night at the local pub, singing and dancing! Could not have wished for a better time. Thank you, Cliodhna!

This cosy house has all the mod cons. 1 Double bed room, 2x Single rooms, kitchen/dinning/living area, bathroom (electric shower), oil heating, wide screen TV/ DVD. 5 minute walk from the local pub and shop, 5min from the beach
    It's location!
Lots of friendly Connemara people! Local pub and shop minutes walk away as well as a selection of beaches.
  • Tina was very welcoming and helpful. The house is in a great location with a great view from the front. The location is quiet, with interesting walks and beaches nearby as well as being a good base for travelling around Connemara. The house is basic but had everything that we needed.

    david2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nice and came with most mod cons, and the location was amazing. It's a very rural and a very quiet area, so preferably have a car for your stay. There are also some beautiful beaches in the close vicinity, so if the weather is good (for us it was), you will get to enjoy those. The 'landlady' Tina was very nice and helpful. She gave us the lowdown on the area, and told us everything we needed to know.

    Diarmaid2014-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great house and a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surroundings. The warm welcome was outstanding!

    Leo2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was very helpful when welcoming us in Kilkerrin. The house was convenient for our family even if it was a little bit dusty. However, it was a good location for exploring Conamara.

    Bruno2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time there and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We got useful information from Tina. Nice beaches, nice walking paths and nice pubs. We would definetly go again.

    Simone2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is very nice house, it is warm, comfortable and has plenty of space for two people. Both bedrooms have double beds and the bathroom is well equipped with a good shower. Cooking facilities are very good and Sara is an excellent host. I would be very happy to stay here again.

    William2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great family house in fabulous surroundings. Our only regret was not having more time to enjoy all the surroundings. Sara's mother Tina met us down the road and guided us to the house, which was fully equipped with everything we needed. With great sea views to the front and some child-friendly hill walking to the rear (complete with an abundance of blackberries) and some lovely little beaches and harbours nearby, I would highly recommend this house.

    Tim2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Alas my timing coincided with added time in the second of the semi finals in the big Gaelic football weekend; so our introductions were sadly a little rushed. But bit by bit post the departure off SB I realised that there was an unloved aspect to this dwelling place. This was reflected in the 'just about fit for purpose approach '. One shower didn't function but the other did... The wardrobes were both warped but a mobile hanging rail would suffice... The interference in receiving a clear TV picture in unison with the spoken word was not assured; but then the unit dated back to Tony Blair's tenure of office .... The central heating control was awaiting repair but it provided a simple choice of turn full left and then back to the right.... The painter was obviously in a hurry and perhaps had used some of his less popular colours ... And yes no Wifi (simply taken as a 'given 'these days') and the lived in look of the sofa and armchairs all caused me to realise that all was not as I had hoped... The views , tranquility and cleanliness of the towelling and bedding did not go by unnoticed...

  • We had a great stay at Bayview Lodge with our friends and kids. We had loads of space in the house and what an amazing view in a beautiful location. The perfect spot to explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Thanks Lizzie we hope to be back soon!

    Laura2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lizzie's cottage is wonderful and beautifully situated overlooking the Atlantic, dry stone fences, a cow or 2, green, some flowers in the foreground. Really perfect. We spent a lot of time outdoors feeding peat logs into the outdoor fire in the evenings. Our large intercontinental family get together for that week was memorable for all of us. Gathering together each evening in the lovely dining room was a highlight. A few km away another highlight was Connemara National Park. Some of us hiked up the mountain. Exhilirating and rewarding! I would highly recommend this cottage situated in the most beautiful, rugged part of Ireland on the Atlantic coast.

  • We had a great stay in the house, in a beautiful area, and we were lucky enough to have some sunny days and dry weather. :-) We also enjoyed the fireplace with the turf logs...

  • This was a perfect spot for our group of 5 adults. Lizzie is a very gracious host and was extremely prompt when responding to questions. The home itself is quite large and comfortable and has a fantastic bay view. 4 of the 5 bedrooms have private bathrooms allowing for maximum privacy. The washer & separate dryer is a nice bonus not often seen in vacation homes in Ireland. We look forward to returning in the future and whole heartedly recommend Bayview Lodge

  • Lizzie is a wonderful host and the accommodation was just perfect for us- 4 lively boys- the house is so big and spacious. The land surrounding the house is quite spectacular- bring wellies and get a little lost for a few hours- amazing. Thanks for such a fantastic week Lizzie!!

  • Wonderful spacious house with stunning views of the sea. Large comfortable beds and brilliant facilities overall. Loved all the ensuite bathrooms! Great memories were made around the large kitchen table, very child friendly and family focussed place to stay. Lots of beautiful walks and beaches in the area. What an incredible place to stay to leave the hustle and bustle of life and reconnect with the ones you love. Can't wait to go back!

This charming house is bright, spacious & cosy with a solid fuel stove to relax by after a day at the beach or exploring Connemara. In the middle of the village it is only a few minutes walk to the local Hotel and Bars for good food and fun night out.
The house has central heating/hot water. While the house is very central to the village it is set back from the road nestled in trees with a great view north to the bog lands and the mountains. To the south glimpses of the sea and part of Muighinis Island is visible.
There are three grocery shops, post office, health centre and pharmacy within walking distance. Within a three mile radius there is a choice of six stunning white sandy beaches. The football pitch is next door and runs summer camps and activities for children. Over an hours drive from Galway city this unique area is ideal for walkers, nature lovers, birdwatching, swimming, and water sports. Climbers are only a twenty minute drive from The TwelveBens mountain range and Clifden town is only 40 minutes drive. Steeped in culture and heritage, Carna has so much to offer you whether you want to visit an ancient lake dwelling ( Loch Scannimh) or pre Christian church on St Mac Daras Island, or fancy some Irish music and song, Paula,s cottage in Carna is the place for you!
  • Nice small village with a funny traditional pub. The House was nice and Paula was a great host. She called us to tell where we will find the key and later she asked agian if she could do anything else for us. Kind regards Frank, Franzi and Falk

  • The house had everything we needed for our stay. Appreciated that our dog was made welcome too and kept secure in the enclosed garden.

  • Paula welcomed us very well, Her house is the same as described in the listing. The neighbourhood is quite calm and the property is good value for money, and the 8 of us were quite comfy in her house.

  • Paula was extremely accommodating in leaving me bread, milk, juice etc and the water had been heated before my arrival which was really considerate! Paula's place is in an excellent locstion within a two minute walk to the shop & pharmacy & hotel a further two minutes. A really cosy house with lots of space in a private setting! Thoroughly enjoyed staying & thank you Paula for being so so kind!

    Marie2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Paula's place was wonderful, exactly as described. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and we were able to park 3 cars easily. The kitchen is very well stocked and you will find everything you need. Upon arrival Tea, Coffee, Milk, Bread and Butter was all available. There are 2 local shops in Carne where you can get the essentials, as well as a pharmacy and hotel. Just down the road is the nearest pub which does great food and a lovely pint of Guinness! A short drive away are some of the loveliest beaches I have ever seen, absolutely stunning and deserted! We were the only ones there at the beginning of August in glorious sunshine, and we had a great swim. We were very lucky with the weather but I would gladly return in the winter as the cottage is very cosy.

    Michelle2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Paula was very easy to communicate with in advance of our arrival and gave excellent instructions of how to find her place. The accommodation is attached to another house but honestly, once inside you wouldn't even realise. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen well appointed - we cooked dinner & breakfast in the house and found everything we could need (even real butter!). Staying only one night, we didn't make great use of the house or see much of the surrounding area. If in Carna again, I would happily stay at Paula's.

    Cat2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything ok!

    Elena2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Paula was a great host - very kind and responsive regarding the minor issues we had during our stay. Wifi was a bit slow for our group of 5, which made communication a bit challenging. Also some slight confusion when we arrived and saw other people in the home (turns out it's a duplex!). Thanks Paula for having us - we loved Carna!

Nous avons apprécié l'ambiance de la maison et le fait que Jeanne laisse à disposition livres, cd, vidéos personnels. Il faut passer sur le fait que certains équipements sont un peu vétustes et goûter le charme d'une maison familiale.
