“Juno is also a cafe with a roof terrace so the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and a drink and when the sun is out, catch some rays on the roof! ”

Bar
“Best for: Casual dining Ten years at the heart of Cardiff’s student hub in Roath have allowed Milgi to build up a devoted and ever-expanding client base, won over by its eclectic decoration, well-proportioned cocktails and flavour-stacked, internationally-inspired, vegetarian plant-based street food. Starters £7.50, mains £11.95.”

Store
“Best for: Casual dining, cheap eats, kid-friendly This is the result of several years of evolution and development by husband-and-wife team Rhys and Laura Keogh, who took over The Pot when it was an unassuming café. Word quickly spread about their new, hearty cassoulets and bouillabaisse – and suddenly, 25 covers wasn’t enough. They’re now packing them in at their new location on Whitchurch Road, while the original venue has been re-reimagined as an upmarket café named, rather sweetly, Arty’s Kitchen, after their son. Breakfast from £5.50, main courses from £8.50.”

Route
“There are a few nice coffee shops (coffee #1), cafes (coffee cake) and low key places to eat (juno lounge, pear tree, cameo club, Chaiholics, etc ) on this road. It is a five minute drive with parking on the road too. They have the BEST ice cream ever at Joe's!! I grew up on this stuff. My fav is the chocolate marshamallow sundae with sprinkles. Yum! The cameo club offers a delish Sunday roast too!”

“City Road is a pickle of interesting restaurants, bars and cafes. Between this and Albany Road there is more or less something for everyone. We like Milgis for a social get together or MezzaLuna for Morocan and Lebanese food... and there are belly dancers at the weekends.”
