  • The Cottage was amazing!

  • This was our second time staying in Susan and Jeff’s charming little cottage and I’m still in love with the place. Even with it being bitterly cold outside, their cottage was warm and cozy. They made a point to get the fireplaces going before we arrived so we had a warm and toasty welcome. They are wonderful hosts, exceptionally thoughtful in what they stock for their guests, and generally good people. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

    Sarah2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was an excellent host. She was extremely communicative and helpful whenever I had a question. She was very patient and helpful with making our reservation (that changed a few times) as well. The home was beautiful and cozy. We had EVERYTHING we could possibly need-even some snacks when we arrived. My daughter and I had a wonderful time. We hope to come back and would definitely stay here again.

  • Elegantly cozy space in a lovely country setting. I loved coming "home' to a peaceful evening on the deck - yet I was within a half hour's drive to Syracuse and only minutes to Cazenovia. Wonderful hosts and wonderful place - hope to return!

    Liz2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • And amazing location with wonderful accommodations and conscientious, communicative hosts...

    Randall2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's home was more beautiful than I could have hoped. I came during the middle of winter and was plenty warm and cozy. She was the perfect hostess and made sure my stay was perfect!

    Sarah2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I chose this place based on pictures and reviews and i must say it's even better in person!! This was my first airbnb experience and I'm hooked. I absolutely recommend it and will definitely stay again.

    Marie 2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my husband while visiting our daughter at Colgate University. The guest house was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Susan and Jeff were wonderful, and their place is very comfortable. I can only recommend their place for anybody but especially parents visiting their children at Colgate University or other schools in the area.

  • Patti's place was great. It was within walking distance to the main commercial district, and lots of space to get comfortable. Had a great stay!

    Daniel2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's home is wonderful! A short walk from downtown, i couldn't have found a better place to stay. The downstairs area is very large, clean, and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again!

    Nathaniel2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Patti was a very thoughtful host. Our space was comfortable, clean and well supplied: Books, videos, and general supplies. We had access to a wonderful deck and yard. Too much rain to take advantage of it, but tempting anyway. We were close enough to walk into town and the lake. A couple days of rain and cloud, but then a perfect Caz summer day.

    Anne2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cazenovia is a picturesque little village. Very quaint and beautiful. We loved Latté Da Café. We stopped by there every day for a week. The lake is at the end of the main street and has picnic tables, a swimming are with lifeguards and a diving board. Everything is withing distance. We grabbed $1 slice pizza for lunch or a pastry from the cafe and walked to the lake to eat and enjoyed the view. Cazenovia is a great destination.!!

    Tina2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's place is very comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and she makes you feel right at home. We had a wonderful stay!

    Suzanne2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Patti was so kind and a great host! She made my parents and I feel so welcome! The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, as well as within walking distance of local restaurants. I would recommend her to anyone visiting the area!

  • The apartment was very clean with plenty of space for four adult couples. It is located right in the heart of the town which is beautiful with cute restaurants and pubs lakes and attractions. You can explore the area then come home and walk to Brae Loch for a beautiful night on the patio. We spent four days there and every couple enjoyed it! The apartment is convenient and has a great common area with bedrooms at the back so you can enjoy each other's company or go to bed. It was a wonderful experience I will definitely go back again.

  • The host was very responsive to our requests or even checked on us via text or stopping by to be sure things were going ok. They provided some snacks, water, coffee and cream which was super nice! Their location is in the heart of downtown so everything is in walking distance.

    Blair2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and her husband Cal were great hosts! They promptly replied to every question I had about their home when I booked, and helped ensure that everything would be smooth on arrival. They even kindly stocked the place with some snacks and water because they were worried that we were arriving late and shops would not be open. Check-in was a breeze thanks to a safe and easy to understand lock system. The apartment is charming, nicely furnished, and located in downtown Cazenovia. It is an airy space with plenty of light throughout. We felt very safe and were walking distance to the lake, shops, restaurants, a farmer's market, and bars. At night it is quiet so we had no problem opening the windows. All rooms were clean and comfortable; Lisa and Cal provided linens and some toiletries for each guest for all rooms, and everything was as described! We had a very restful stay and appreciate their hospitality during our first time in Cazenovia. They gifted us a kind little memento when we left, a mug with a historical view of the street we were on. Thank you both very much!

  • What a great location and such a large place. We were able to house 5 women comfortably for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed being right in the center of town. We took advantage of the shops and the area walking trails. The apartment was wonderfully sunny and we enjoyed being able to bring all of our own food and eat together without the hassle of going out. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean.

    Michelle2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place was great! The location can't be beat, right in the heart of Cazenovia. Lisa was very responsive and made the logistics a breeze.

  • Great place! Awesome location, clean, big apartment!

    Maggie2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • I rented this house for my fiance and his groomsmen the night before our wedding. Lisa was quick and responsive. The house is right along the main street in town so they were able to walk to grab a drink and a bite to eat.

    Karen2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa left a wonderful variety of coffees, creamer, some soda and water as a welcome!! That was greatly appreciated! The Keurig and variety of coffees were great. The apartment was perfect and check-in and out was great. Love the code on the door! Bathrooms were clean and we really appreciated that! We enjoyed our stay and the location was PERFECT. I enjoyed shopping in your store. I'm sure your second floor will be a great apartment too. Thanks so much for the helpful hints on parking from your husband and glad you have the two parking spaces!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The space was perfect for what we needed, and was acurately pictured and described. Linda was very prompt and helpful in her communications. And she really went above and beyond when we told her we were baking a wedding cake - we couldn't have done it without her help! We also had our baby with us, and it was so great to have a cot and a highchair and baby gates waiting for us when we arrived. The house and property are beautfully maintained. I'm sure you would be delighted to stay here.

    Rebecca2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time here. Relaxing on the deck and haging out with mom for here 80th birthday. Such a beutiful place to stay. The charm of a 110 year old estate with a lovely town just a mile away. Thank so much to Linda an Brian for doing all they do to maintain the property.

    Rick2015-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a lovely Christmas at the carriage house. It was warm, cozy and comfortable with beautiful views from every window! Linda was so responsive, coming out in the cold to bring us a few things we needed. Thank you!

    Laura2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The carriage house at Hillcrest is a lovely and comfortable place to spend a few relaxing days. Linda went above and beyond to make sure we settled in nicely and had everything we needed, even providing a baby gate to keep our daughter away from the stairs and a number of toys to help keep her occupied. We loved the expansive grounds and the beautiful views over the lake as well as the historical character evident in every room of the apartment. We would absolutely stay again should we return to Cazenovia.

    Shannon2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House at Hillcrest was wonderful place to stay, full of history, in a beautiful setting, with plenty of room for a family of four. Linda and Brian were excellent hosts and were very welcoming to our family. Linda was very responsive and communicative when arranging a time to meet us to collect the key upon check in. At the end of our stay, we left some items behind and she sent them to us promptly. The overall attitude of the hosts was warm and helpful. The Carriage house was very clean and comfortable for us. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are visiting Cazenovia!

    (EMAIL HIDDEN)2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House at Hillcrest is one of the most inviting places you could ever wish to stay, a historic gem, perfectly appointed, beautifully maintained, and overlooking Cazenovia Lake. It was immediately apparent that Linda and Brian give thought to everything a vacationer, traveler or tourist (there is a difference) might need. They went out of their way to make us feel at home… only wish we could have stayed longer. The Carriage House was immaculate, incredibly roomy, and because history has been so well preserved there, it was a blast to spend time in. It is one of several structures on a magnificent estate. Linda and Brian were gracious enough to give us a tour of the main house, an absolute feast for the eyes. The estate has a wonderful story. The same can be said for Linda and Brian, who were generous and engaging, the kind of people you want for neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, the neighborhood is one that will spoil you. My wife and I look for occasional getaways in quaint little towns throughout the northeast. We have quite a few favorites. Cazenovia just got added to the list of most charming. Thank you Linda and Brian! Your warmth and hospitality was remarkable, and will surely bring us back.

    André2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The host was totally accommodating even though we had a very late arrival. The place was homey and perfect for a relaxing visit.

    Jim2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Brian are hosts extraordinaire. Their devotion to preserving and sharing this beautiful historical home and grounds, as well as graciously tending their guests, is above and beyond the expected. Gorgeous views of the lake, peaceful surroundings, a space furnished with antiques, and proximity to a lovely village makes this a destination not to be missed.

  • The guest space is located in part of the owner's historic home in Cazenovia. The home is central to all that the region has to offer. We made use of the outdoor firepit. This is a new rental and I'm sure will get even better with time but overall, it had a lot to offer.

    Dana2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location of the house was great, located within walking distance of downtown Cazenovia. The unit was nice although the beds were on the small side if you are tall. Pool table was a nice feature. There is a thin wall between you and the Host's unit so not the best if your group will be loud. Host was very responsive to communication, although I had trouble getting on to wifi and wasn't able to resolve that.

    Rob2017-08-13T00:00:00Z

  • Brenda was a very welcoming host, and was very helpful with suggestions on places to eat and things to see and do in the area. Her cottage was quite charming, and a very comfortable place to stay for a weekend visit. We were in town for a family wedding, and the cottage turned out to be a great gathering place. The weather during part of our stay was cold and rainy, and the gas fireplace in the living room got quite a workout! The location was perfect--within walking distance of shops and restaurants, as well as the lake. If you're in town on a Saturday, the farmer's market on the village green is a must!

  • I booked Sally's place for my parents to stay while they were visiting me at Colgate. They LOVED the space and found it quite charming! Sally was extremely accommodating and the location was close to the main strip of Cazenovia. Definitely would recommend - I am booking it again for graduation!

  • My family really enjoyed our stay. We originally planned to hit the road early in the morning, but the cuteness of the home and beauty of the surrounding area left us with no choice but to delay the next leg of our trip. Sally answered all our questions promptly and completely. The home was packed with amenities, all needs seemed to be accounted for.

  • Wonderful home with spectacular views.

    Liz2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find. We were in Cazanovia for a wedding and wanted a place where three generations, including seven month old twins, could spend the weekend. Not only were Sally and Bart exceedingly warm and generous, the space they provided was unexpectedly beautiful. The two bedrooms were large and comfortable, even with the addition of two cribs. The living room, warmed by a gas fireplace, had a large, unobstructed view of the most beautiful valley below. The kitchenette was equipped with all the necessary equipment to make a Sunday brunch (we supplied to ingredients). Staying at their Air BNB made our trip so many times nicer than had we stayed in a hotel.

  • A spectacular property! Beautiful views everywhere. Close to the Lake and falls. Everyone should stay here for at least a night. Adorable friendly dogs if you are an animal lover :)

  • Paul's loft was very roomy and so cozy, also super clean! You get a ton of natural light and at night, you can sit outside on the porch and watch the stars! It gets cold at night but there are blank I appreciated Paul providing us with pots/pans, dishes, utensils and more. We cooked every night. The location couldn't be any better - it is a 3min walk to the Chittenango Falls. Also, Paul's property is gorgeous and we took walks everyday. Even though the temperature dropped significantly at night, we slept with our patio door open and were able to enjoy the fall breeze. We will definitely come back!

    Sujin2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's loft was just as described. We found it cozy and comfortable with lots of natural light. Paul greeted us when we arrived, showed us how to adjust the heat and how to set up the TV to view DVDs. He made sure he answered any questions we had before leaving us to settle in, and even checked in by text the next day to see if we needed anything. We had a great experience and would definitely go back.

  • We weren't looking to use Airbnb, but we simply needed a room for the night and everything else in the area was booked for the holiday weekend. Paul's place was the closest we could find to our real destination. Paul was very hospitable and the room was very comfortable. If we were to use Airbnb again, we hope all accommodations are as welcoming and as comfortable as this one was.

  • Great stay. Loved the sweet kitties and dogs. Great property. My son had fun in the pool. So nice to walk over to the falls. Cazenovia is a sweet little town. Very accommodating.

    Arnie2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Paul's loft. Even though we checked in late, Paul was very accomodating and even allowed for a late check-out on our last day. The apartment had very clear instruction everywhere about using everything from the wifi to the coffee machine. Very easy access to the waterfalls. The bed was very comfortable and the location is very quiet at night. Would definitely recommend it.

    Louis-Pierre2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place and property is beautiful and as described. Can only imagine how majestic it would be in the winter.

    Cherie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful time here. The loft has everything you would need for a fun getaway. The river and waterfalls are very nice. The lake close at hand is really beautiful. The area is great. Paul is a terrific host - extremely responsive and helpful in every way. We would be eager to come back another time.

    - 10 minute walk to Caz College quad - 15 minute walk to Village center - 20 minute walk to Lakeland park Welcome! This space is very private and quiet on the 2nd floor. I live on the first floor, and share the front door access, the upstairs space has a door and can be closed off completely. There is no through traffic except kids learning to bicycle and people walking their dogs. I have a certified therapy dog who is very friendly and will want to know you. :-)
The front and larger room is filled with afternoon light, large, spacious, and very private. Windows look out onto a wooded lot, with the nearest house 40 yards away with a 'buffer' of native landscaping between. The back room gets the morning sun with windows looking out onto the back yard and other houses barely visible. The sitting/eating area has windows to the east and south with a view of the hills in the distance. Did I mention it's really quiet here?
The neighborhood is very quiet and sometimes I feel like I should whisper! People are friendly and will wave and say hello - say Hi back. :)
  • A congenial host with a lovely house steps from good restaurants on the main street. Would definitely book again.

  • My family and I stayed at Lisa's home this past weekend. Lisa and her dog, Lola, were very welcoming. We were very impressed with the size of the rooms and the cleanliness of home. Everything we needed for a relaxing weekend was available. We will definitely stay with Lisa again when traveling to central NY.

    David2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was great to work with on our reservation. She was a great host and would recommend her house. Great location.

    James2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, decorated with lots of love and attention to details, warm welcome, and yummy treats! Centrally located, easy access, great restaurants near by walking distance to town, yet far enough out of town to be quiet. Will book next time we’re in town!

    Jeanne2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Lisa was perfect for our (my husband and I) small weekend trip to Upstate NY. Lisa was very charming and welcoming, and her dog Lola must be the cleanest and most well behaved dog I've ever met. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. We had plenty of privacy on the second floor, but could equally find or get a hold of Lisa if we needed to. The location was fairly close to downtown Cazenovia (5 min drive, 15-20 min walk) which was incredibly quaint with a lovely farmers market on Saturday. We also checked out the nearby Empire Farm Brewery and Critz Farm while we were there, both of which fun and had some beautiful scenery. It was equally an easy 30 minute drive over to Syracuse to meet family for dinner. I would definitely recommend this airbnb if you are looking to stay in the Cazenovia area.

    Jacqueline2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a very friendly and accommodating host. We had multiple engagements that night and she was very understanding of us leaving and entering the house.

    Courtney2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was in contact via text regarding our arrival, and welcomed us along with her lovely dog Lola. She showed us our room and other accommodations, got us on our way to see the falls, and recommend a great place to eat. We had left fairly early the next morning to get some more hiking in before our event at 1.

    Kelly Neyman2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • A nice, quiet private spot for sleeping with a gracious but unobtrusive host. A great launch pad to the quaint village of Cazenovia for those who enjoy walking. And Lola the dog is amazing, too!

  • This cozy, well-equipped, fairly priced house is a perfect base for visiting beautiful Central NY. You can walk anywhere you need to go in Cazenovia, and you don't have to walk far to reach lovely horse and farm country. Syracuse is convenient, but doesn't intrude. It's easy to feel at home in the house, which is nicely furnished. The bed in the master BR is very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious but short on space for food storage, and the fridge has a few issues. Main bathroom is spacious, and water pressure is great. John and Linda are responsive and easy to deal with. All in all, we were very pleased.

    Steven2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • John and Linda's place is great! Super comfortable and close to the adorable cafes in Cazenovia. And what a wonderful town!

    Noam2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • John and Linda's home is an amazing choice to stay in Caz. Great communication prior to checking in and upon arrival. Although I did not personally meet John, he reached out to make sure we settled in fine. The space is large, clean, and is exactly as pictured. The home was inviting, comfortable, and felt representative of the experience in the town. Any information on things to do, trails, and general housekeeeping were provided. We highly recommend for anyone staying in Caz.

    Theresa2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • John and Linda's cozy home was a great way to enjoy quaint Cazenovia and the rest of the Syracuse area. They provided everything we needed, and the location was ideal for walking into town to visit terrific restaurants and shops.

  • This sweet, generously appointed house was perfect for a meetup of three friends--plenty of room, quiet neighborhood near fun shops and great restaurants and everything you could possilbly need was provided. Old fashioned charm, cozily decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again! HIGHLY recommend!

    Becky2016-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the home. It had a lot of room which made it nice for our family. It was very quaint and located close enough to adorable downtown Cazenovia to walk there and have breakfast and check out the farmer's market. The home also boasted a nice sunroom, deck, and garden, but unfortunately, we weren't there long enough to make the most of it. Hosts left a detailed document describing things to do and messaged us to check in during our stay. Would recommend!

Our home is located in the hills of Cazenovia with a view of wooded hills and valleys. The room is upstairs and has a king sized bed or two twin beds. There is a full bath that is only used by the upstairs. There is also another room with a hide a bed couch that can be used. There will be an extra charge for more than two people. You will be the only people in the upstairs. We are located a mile from Cazenovia Lake and the village. Cazenovia has many excellent restaurants and shops. It is 20 miles from Syracuse. • We had a wonderful stay. Marilyn and Bob couldn't have been more hospitable the room was light and airy and the view was truly spectacular we loved watching nature from the kitchen window. My husband fell in love with their cat who was the friendliest cat we have ever seen. We would definitely stay there again

    Michele2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. Marilyn & Bob were welcoming and very accommodating. Loved the house and it's history and Marilyn showed us her art studio where she creates wonderful and interesting pieces and Bob does his handiwork as well. The room was perfect - a delightful stay! Interesting conversation as well - great hosts!

    Diane2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn and Bob were fantastic hosts. We exchanged our life stories, and learned of of their family's history. Bob did tremendous work to renovate and maintain this beautiful late 1700s house in the country. Together with Marilyn's fantastic artwork, the house was decorated perfectly. By the end, Thuy and I both felt like we were part of family, visiting after a long while. We regret not having spent more time at the house with them, but that was only due to our busy visit to Syracuse. We came in after a long drive from Baltimore, and instantly relaxed. The room and house felt heavenly. We enjoyed everything, from hearing the sound of light rain pattering on the ground at night to waking up to bird song, all in a very comfortable bed. Looking out of the bedroom window towards the horizon was just amazing. Standing outside was breath-taking. The house is along a very scenic and beautiful Rt. 20, not far from I-81. The location allows one to really commune with nature – a perfect place to retreat and relax. I can say, with certainty, that we plan to come back again soon. Thank you Marilyn and Bob! ~ Carlos and Thuy

  • Marilyn and Bob were great. I had originally book the two rooms for myself and my Mom. My brother, his girlfriend and his two kids decided to join us for my daughter's graduation. Marilyn and Bob fit us all in. They were very friendly and accommodating. Bob even took his grandsons legos out for my nephews to play with. The beds were comfortable and the area was cute. They even offered to let us use their bathroom when we were all trying to get ready at once. If we are back in the area we would definitely stay again.

  • Great place to stay! The house was very nice and comfortable, Louis did a great job setting things up for our arrival.

    Jesse2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a review I sent to Louis about this house, which he says he did not receive. Therefore, I am posting it for all to consider. Louis, Our stay in Clay is coming to an end and we will be leaving first thing in the morning. We will be returning to Syracuse to visit our granddaughter while she is attending the University, as will her parents and friends. However, we find it hard to consider this house for our stays as the maintenance here seems below average, which you may not be aware of. In the kitchen we found that the overhead light does not work, the pantry and refrigerator are full of old and expired food, there is one kitchen towel and a moldy old sponge. The dishwasher does not always release the soap during the cycle and we washed by hand. The dishes are not bad but the silverware and pots and pans are cheap and marked up. In the living room, the recliner chairs are broken and the router worked sporadically. Our granddaughter's husband worked on it with no good result, so we bought a new one at Best Buy for $39.99 (for which I need to be reimbursed). There were no clear instructions for opening the front door, using the wifi, and movies-on-demand requires a password that was not supplied. We found some instructions finally beneath the two open boxes of entertainment routers on top of the refrigerator (?) but they are not complete. There are dirty bath towels behind the couch, which can be seen from the back deck. The deck had a cup of cigarettes and matches, which was caught in the rain and blowing around, as was the BBQ cover. In the laundry room we had to wash out the washer as it had dirt streaks on it and the dryer had sticky glops inside. Both machines had someone else's clothes inside of them. The laundry area is very, very dirty. In the bedrooms we found trash in the closets instead of extra sheets, which are not there. There are cookies, candy and trash strewn under the master bedroom's bed. The jacuzzi tub spit out brown water and had to be run for a while to clear it, then we scrubbed out the tub twice. There was used dental floss on the dresser in the master bedroom. There are few extra bathroom towels and all of them are stained. There is one extra TP roll in each bathroom. I believe that any good maintenance crew could and would take care of most all of these issues as the house has basically good bones beneath all of the neglect. I just pass this all on as I don't think you are able to see all of this and may be paying for a service you are not receiving.

    Melissa2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Louis was in constant communication with me up until check in. The house was set up very clean and as described. The welcome letter included details for the home that made it easy to stay in. Great stay!

    Bev2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • My two sisters and I stayed three nights at Louis's house in Clay, NY during a family reunion in the area. The location was great for us, providing easy access to Syracuse and other places nearby. The house itself is spacious, though somewhat sparsely furnished. It is located in a subdivision of similar houses which look to have been built by the same developer. Louis apparently lives elsewhere in the country, so we did not meet him, but he was very responsive by email and phone, which was important when we needed assistance with the entry lock.

Large, private property on a rural road, nestled at the edge of our own forest, a natural pond in our expansive front yard. Close to 2 small, historic villages, Cazenovia & Chittenango, not far from Syracuse. Close to Chittenango Falls & Cazenovia Lake, a winery, 3 breweries, a zoo, a buffalo ranch & many great restaurants. We welcome everyone: all races, nationalities, LGBTQ, families with children. If we left you out of this list we welcome you too. We speak Spanish, French & Portuguese.
Our house is completely renovated inside; all the carpets, walls and ceilings are new. We have beautiful furniture including antique Vietnamese and African pieces as well as some of the best American designed and made furniture. The whole house is decorated with African and Asian art. Our property is very large: 30 acres (12 hectares). Our house is nestled at the edge of our own private forest and we have a vast green front yard with a small natural pond. There is a fantastic view from our house across the valley.
We love the tranquility of the area, the panoramic views, including across the valley from our house. We have a small natural pond in our front yard and a larger one across the street.
  • This was a great spot for peace and quiet. The home is located in the mountains with iffy cell reception but the views are amazing. I was able to see stars very clearly, deer, rabbits, and my first horse and buggy sighting in the area. I felt like I was visiting my family and felt very safe and comfortable

  • This location is the best if you want to experience the country charm of central NY. It is quiet and beautiful. The home is spacious and comfortable. The hosts are pleasant and very interesting. Though David was born locally and is knowledgable about the area, both he and his wife are seasoned international travelers and speak multiple languages. I'd stay here again.

  • We were very welcome, we had long interesting talks. It was a pleasure meeting this family. The location is isolated but beatuiful, calm and enjoyable. The room and bathroom were perfect. Great experience.

  • David was gone and the person who he assured us would be there wasn’t. We tried multiple times to text and call on the day we were to arrive, but no one answered. No one answered when we got to the house and we did not have instructions for entering. So we wasted time and gas to go there and ended up in a hotel.

  • The house is pretty much as the pictures show. There is plenty of space for lounging around in different rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked. We cooked one of our dinners in the house and found everything that we needed. We didn't use the extra space on the property but it looked really nice from the outside. We tripped a circuit in the kitchen but were able to have the problem resolved quickly. Meg was a pleasure to work with and was able to answer any and all questions promptly.

  • We are a couple that stayed for 2 nights for a nearby wedding. The house and hosts were fantastic! The private suite was stocked with snacks, food and drinks, and has a gorgeous bathroom, several sitting areas, a big bed, and a washer/dryer. Although we arrived after midnight, our hosts were there to welcome us and show us around, and offered information about the area and things to do. This was our first Airbnb experience, and we would highly recommend this home.

  • This house was simply perfect and exactly what we needed. The house served us well, and Paul was very gracious to allow some other members of our family that we were visiting spend a day with us and enjoy his lovely yard and pool. Being that close to the falls was awesome! Paul's two dogs are just a complete joy to have around, and Paul himself is an all-around nice guy, very helpful and informative, and great to talk with. We would definitely stay here again!

    Thomas2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location within ear-shot and 5 minute walk of Chittenango Falls, which are spectacular. Lots of room in this house and beautiful scenery.

    David2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • I will start by saying that Paul seems very nice, he was very responsive to a problem we had and his house is in a beautiful setting. His linens are very nice and the beds comfortable. The kitcken is well equiped. The biggest negative was that the cleanliness was well below the average of the other 7 Airbnb homes we have rented. ( I am comparing this house to other rentals, not my own home, so I am do not feel I am being overly critical.) The fridge space was limited because of the hosts own food. The shower needs some repair. The hot water was a bit tricky at first but there was plenty once we got the hang of how to do it.

    Peg ( Margaret)2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's property was beautiful. He did a wonderful job of making our experience as great as possible. He was kind to us and helpful when we had questions. I would absolutely consider returning!

    Ian2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friends had a really great time at Paul's place. We are dreaming about visiting his house at the summer time. We like the area. He has really good dogs and cats. We were really surprised with so beautiful waterfall. Paul was really helpful with this accommodation. Our New Year staying was lake a faire tale.

    Vladimir2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul definitely made us feel welcome and was very accomodating. The house is peaceful and serene. It wasn't what we expected, it was better! Ridgeview is a home I could visit year after year. Thanks Paul!

    christina2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is a great host. So helpful and friendly - even built us a bonfire before we arrived! The property is a perfect way to gather the family and slip away for the weekend. The main house is rustic, and the only 1.5 bath can cause the need to heavily plan logistics for 10 people, but it is still an amazing way to just relax and spend time together.

Out in the country, about 25 min from Syracuse Univ. Very near beautiful Cazenovia. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds & orientations; unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, but do have a bedroom w/ a full-sized futon & full bathroom on the ground floor, so if you can manage a few steps into the house, you won't have to climb stairs. Very safe area, very welcoming hosts, but a grouchy cat. If you have a small, well-behaved dog, we may make an exception to our no pets rule. NO SMOKING.
Our home is small, and well you could have a private bathroom, most people choose to use the bathroom that we also use. You will have access to the kitchen. The bed is a full.
We're out in the country, about 6 miles west of Cazenovia, and a half hour from the city of Syracuse.
  • The location was convenient to Cazenovia, but was quite and very peaceful. The upstairs room was nice and had convenient bathroom access. There was easy off street parking provided. The chocolate mint candies were unexpected but appreciated. We would consider staying there again if we were in the area.

  • Great place right off US 20. Prime locale. Best part was the awesome breakfast in the AM.

  • A great place to stay. Mindy and Dave are great.

  • We booked with Mindy last minute but she responded quickly and accommodated a late arrival, and was nice enough to stay up to welcome us when we did arrive. We were just passing through en route and needed a place to crash so we were up and out early in the morning but we were offered breakfast before heading out, which was very kind!

  • This is a great place to stay. Mindy is very welcoming and fun to talk to. The home is very clean, quiet and cozy. I would definitely stay again.

    Tammy2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy was a great and clear communicator and made my visit easy! The guest room was immaculate and comfortable. They are easy to talk to and very familiar with the area. Ask about Poe.

  • The house was spotless and Mindy is well organized and helpful. The location was perfect for me, just a few miles from my event. The setting is beautiful, classic Central New York countryside. I will definitely stay here again when my travels bring me to the area.

  • Everything was great. Central NY Farm Charm at its best. Mindy and Dave helped with my little frailties, and were the best at the lost Art of Good Conversation. We highly recommend. Bob & Vicki

FOR FUN AT CHITTENANGO FALLS: Chittenango Falls State Park is a 193-acre (0.78 km2) state park located in Madison County, New York, east of Cazenovia Lake. The park features a 167-foot (51 m) waterfall that cascades over roughly 400-million-year-old bedrock. At the bottom of the falls the meandering Chittenango Creek flows underneath a wooden bridge. The park offers a variety of activities including picnic tables with pavilions, a playground, a nature trail, hiking, and fishing. Sit on one of the many wooden park benches under ancient shade maples. Wade in Chittenango Creek upstream and downstream of Chittenango Falls. Look over the edge! Hike to the bridge at the bottom on a short easy trail and stand on the wooden bridge—feel the mist on your face! Photographer’s dream. Walk on the many maintained trails through woods and fields. Hike to top of Cazenvia Ski CLub for an al fresco picnic. Rent some of my kayaks and go paddle around Cazenovia Lake. ABOUT CAZENOVIA: Ranked Number 15 of all small towns in USA by Huffingon Post in 2015! Cazenovia is a quaint little village about 3.5 miles to the south. Founded in 1793 by John Lincklaen, who built the Lorenzo mansion at the south end of the lake, the village still teems with history. It has wonderful restaurants, old inns/pubs, gift shops, a beautiful lake, a small college, and a ski hill. Quick easy access to "Route 20 Antique Dealers", local Finger Lakes wineries, "Cazenovia Beverage Trail", and several old inns/restaurants. L.L. Bean rents summer paddle boards and kayaks at the village dock in Cazenovia’s Lakeside Park. 5 GREAT restaurants in Village of Cazenovia: Brewster Inn (dress up, make reservations), Brae Loch Inn (live music every Friday), Lincklaen House, BG Buda's Cucina Italiana, and Les Pates et les Nouilles (Thai); also La Cucina (Mexican) in Chittenango. Visit the quaint little shops and boutiques in the village of Cazenovia. For a good breakfast go to Emma’s on Main or (served all day) Dave’s Diner. Tour the Cazenovia Beverage Trail-- or the Finger Lakes Wineries (hire a limo)! Rent some of my 6 kayaks and go paddle around Cazenovia Lake. As of the 2013 census, the village had a population of 2,774. LGBT friendly. ABOUT CHITTENANGO: This small village about 4 miles to the north is the birth place of L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He was born in Chittenango May 15, 1856 where his family owned a barrel factory. Visit the All Things Oz museum. Attend the annual Oz Festival and parade the first Saturday of every June-- dress as your favorite character! The museum is open year-round with limited hours and by appointment. Group tours are also offered. Visit the local casino (Yellow Brick Road) in Chittenango, owned and run by the Oneida Nation. Or go to their more extravagant Turning Stone Casino 20 minutes away (full day spa, concerts, 36 holes of PGA golf, indoor tennis, bars, restaurants, hotel, etc.). LGBT friendly. EXTRA GUESTS FEE: If you are not in one of the 8 beds (3 King and 5 Queen) there is an extra charge of $40 per person per night sleeping indoors, which includes 3 Queen pull-out couches and 3 full-size non-pull-out sofas. For outdoor campers it is only an extra $10 per person per night. IF YOU PLAN TO USE THE 3 DOWNSTAIRS PULL-OUT QUEEN SOFAS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN QUEEN-SIZE SHEETS. SHEETS ARE ONLY PROVIDED FOR THE 5 ACTUAL BEDS. THERE IS ALWAYS AN ADDITIONAL FEE IF YOU PLAN TO HOST AN EVENT HERE FOR EXTRA DAY GUESTS IN ADDITION TO THE OVERNIGHT GUESTS. Depending on how you plan to set up, run, and clean up after your event, this fee could be anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000. Let's discuss! PETS: If a group rents the entire property I am happy to drop by mornings and evenings to feed the pets, who are very gentle and friendly. Some people like to do that themselves-- either way is fine. They are not high maintenance, and only eat dry kibble. Watering canteens are hooked up to hoses so they never run dry. ALL RATES INCLUDE 8% NY State Sales Tax PLUS 8% OCCUPANCY TAX (4% FOR NY STATE + 4% FOR MADISON COUNTY, NY).
Beautiful countryside, hills, valleys, streams, lakes, waterfalls, ski hill, sunsets, and cows. Take a nice walk on a quiet country road. Rent and ride mountain bikes on the near by rail trail (it goes from right near the house to the village of Cazenovia 3.5 miles away).
  • We rented the entire property for a family reunion (17 guests, including children). We had a very enjoyable stay: the property was quiet, providing lots of space and privacy, and is directly across the street from the state park and minutes from Cazenovia - the pool was a hit for our younger guests! Paul is a responsive host, and provided clear instructions - we would not hesitate to recommend this property.

  • Perfect quiet location surrounded by beautiful nature. The loft itself had all the comforts you could want.

    Jeremy2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very large, well-appointed loft with balcony and nice views. The loft is in a separate building from main house, so extra privacy. Cazenovia and its surroundings are beautiful. Paul is welcoming and trustworthy. We hope to return here!

  • Paul's luxury loft is the perfect getaway. Very comfortable bed and couch. A jacuzzi tub to soak in. It's right across the street from a beautiful waterfall and a close drive to Cazenovia for delicious cuisine and lake sports.

  • The Loft A apt was all that we thought it would be and more. Paul has paid attention to the little details that make this place so warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, Paul greeted us and showed us around the apt. helping us learn how to work everything and pointing out unique features of the property. We stayed the night so we could attend a wedding. After a night of dancing in very high heels, I was very excited and relieved to find a pretty well stocked medicine closet complete with pain relievers! Paul was such a wonderful host who went out of his way to accommodate us. He was extremely flexible with our needs and even went above and beyond what he ever needed to (he knows what I mean and I don't want to write it here so as to not volunteer him for his services in the future but needless to say, he helped us out when we were in a jam.) I can't recommend this place enough! Beautiful place, beautiful land and a beautiful person. Thank you for everything! PS: Dave's Diner was phenomenal!

By the way, if you happen to be a photographer and want to photograph the Chittenango Falls, this is a great place to stay. It is within close walking distance of the falls, making it easy to view the falls at different times of day and different lighting conditions.

  • We were only in Cazenovia for a brief 24 hours, but the town was adorable and Paul is conveniently located just a few minutes from Main St. We really appreciated the the convenient maps and directions he provided for us and felt very comfortable and welcomed in his home. Wish we had more time to check out the property as it is beautiful!

  • Paul is friendly and conversational. His place is gorgeous, and right across the street from the falls. His dogs are super sweet and were a huge hit with our son. Take some time to walk the mowed trails if you have a chance.

  • Paul is a very friendly, generous, and communicative host. His place was great, comfortable, and wonderfully situated right across from Chitenango Falls State Park. (Walking down to see the falls is a must, they are gorgeous.). It is also conveniently close the Village of Cazenovia. (I recommend the Empire Farmstead Brewery). I highly recommend staying at Paul's place.
