“Don’t be surprised if other diners are monks. This vegetarian restaurant strictly adheres to the Buddhist tenets regarding food, but it's so good you won't miss the meat.”

Restaurant
“Best local Shanghainese food. Impossible to get a table but a secret tip is to ask for a table at the wine shop opposite the street. You'll have to buy a bottle but the space is nicer and they'll bring the food over.”

Bakeries

Bakery
“The best French bakery in Shanghai. Really good bread, patisseries and coffee. Expect lines on the weekend, so I recommend going during the week. This location is the first Farine and on the iconic Wukang Lu. (Take metro Line 10 to Shanghai Library to get there). It's a beautiful very 'on trend' street with Chinese youths at the moment. Plane trees, narrow street, lots of selfie-taking.... It's a really lovely spot. There is also a new VERY popular icecream shop on the street called WIYF. If you want to see what happens when a trend hits in China. Expect to line up for your icecream! ***There is also a Farine located within in Bund area. Address: 88 Yuanmingyuan Rd, nr Beijng Rd.**”
