  • We had a lovely weekend break at Roger and Janet's. It was exactly how it was described on the airbnb's page. It was clean, confortable and Roger was very pleasant to talk and made us to feel very welcomed(Janet was away). In the morning was lovely to have cereal, bread and drinks waiting for us. We had a meal a pub a few miles away called Dusty Miller and the food was great. Thanks again for your hospitality Roger.

  • Very nice stay at Roget & Janet's. Lovely people and very helpful

  • Hosts made us feel very welcome and their children as well. Accommodation was lovely and quiet and lots of space. Only issue was that we hoped to get breakfast and on the website when I had clicked on the page it said "breakfast was included". I didn't want to appear rude so didn't ask either..maybe this should be clearer on the website!

  • We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. It was so thoughtfully put together, and the delicious homemade jam and wine upon arrival were a massive bonus! Hilary's communication was fantastic and despite not meeting her, we felt absolutely confident that she was just at the end of the phone if we needed her. The cottage itself is in a beautiful spot with masses to do - we actually ran out of time in a week to do everything we'd earmarked for our trip. We would highly highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back.

    Sarah2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hiliary's little peak district cottage is an absolute must. Its beautifully decorated, clean and in a beautiful location. It has everything you need. Wonderful experience cooking on the rayburn and delicious food in the local pub. Beautiful views from the hanging gate too so make sure you get up there! Couldn't recommend it highly enough-we will be back!

    Victoria2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying in Dane cottage - the location was perfect, with a very good pub just up the road and the local brewery a short stroll away. The scenery was stunning and there are plenty of places to walk/hike nearby. The cottage itself is incredibly charming and everything you could want from a country getaway. The only depressing thing was having to come home at the end of it all!

    Michael2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful, with really lovely touches like a welcome note and homemade jam. The location was perfect and we had the most relaxing stay we could have hoped for. We’ll certainly be back!

  • We had a wonderful time, every detail was perfect. It's a very cosy and warm little cottage with a magnificent view. We recommend it. The communication with Hilary was very easy and useful and she took care of us as friends. Thank you very much. We enjoyed so much!

  • A perfect honeymoon venue. We had a great escape in a lovely cottage. Hilary was the perfect host with a wonderfully romantic cottage. We would love to return in the future and I would recommend it to anyone. Calm, peaceful, immaculately clean and everything you would want in a home is catered for.

    Sara2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hilary is such a great host and her extra touches in the cottage made the stay so lovely and warm and safe. The scenery at the doorstep is unimaginably beautiful with red deer waiting for you to discover in the woodland walks of Danebridge. Overall it was like staying in a hotel and your own cottage and is personally the best place to stay if travelling alone like I was.

    Wincle, Macclesfield, Cheshire, United Kingdom

Our apartment is located in Wincle, a small village in The Peak District National Park - a stunning location that is perfect for walking. Within 3 miles of the apartment there are 4 pubs serving great food as well as a micro-brewery, an ice cream farm and a trout fishing lake. The area offers peace and quiet for couples or solo adventurers looking to get away from it all.
The apartment was converted a few years ago in one of our barns. It consists of a large, comfortable, high ceilinged bed-sitting room, a small separate kitchen and a shower room. It is heated by storage heaters and double glazed. The apartment contains books, games, Freesat TV, DVDs and an iPod with docking unit if you fancy just staying in and relaxing.
Wincle and its neighbour Danebridge together form one of Macclesfield Borough's most picturesque settlements, straddling either side of the River Dane where it separates Cheshire from Staffordshire. Wincle is geographically centred around the attractive St Michael's Church and adjacent village school, with spectacular moorland views across to the Roaches, Shutlingsloe and Hanging Stone as well as lush woodland and drystone-walled pastures. Such rich scenery and well-known pubs for eating and drinking, makes Wincle a favourite place for walkers and other visitors.
  • Alison and John have created a wonderful space, in a beautiful location. It's the second time we've stayed with them - it is a great "overflow" location when visiting nearby family. They are SO friendly and helpful we'll try and stay there whenever we visit the area.

    Katie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for those visiting the local area. Surprisingly easy to get to from Manchester Airport. Well provisioned with all basic needs. Very attractive apartment.

    Andy2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is amazing and all the personal touches really help to make it! The location is stunning and peaceful. Just as was described. Alison and her partner, Jon where super hosts and always on hand to answer any questions that we had! Will certainly think about coming back. The stay was nothing short of perfect!

    Rebecca2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Well what a find this place was! Absolutely as described and a lovely cosy place with fresh food for breakfast supplied. Would whole heartedly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway in a scenic location. The hosts were marvellous as well!

  • Staying here was the perfect weekend away, the farm is such a beautiful location and there are great walks just outside of your door! The apartment is very cosy, we loved the beamed ceilings! The kitchen is very well stocked and has lovely extras like fresh eggs! The main living space is spacious and comfortable, we loved every moment and would love to return!!

    Suki2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bartomley Farm, from arriving to leaving Alison and John made us extremely welcome. There were so many lovely homely touches, we felt spoilt and well looked after! The place is beautiful, the accommodation, just perfect and the people, so lovely! Thanks for making our first nights away from the littlies so wonderful!

    Rowan2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at what is indeed a little piece of paradise! Alison and John were very friendly and welcoming. The barn was as described only perhaps even nicer than the pictures (very lovely beams!) We were really touched by how thoughtfully stocked the barn was -from eggs from their lovely chickens, prosecco, to all the bits and bobs you may need for breakfast, plus lots of books, games, films and music so you could easily enjoy a number of nights there. The location is great -you feel tucked away in the beautiful countryside but the Wincle brewery is just a short walk away, as is the Ship Inn which has lovely food (and a good selection of veggie options!) Overall we had a thoroughly lovely time and hope to return another year. Thank you Alison and John for such a lovely stay.

    heather2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and john have thought of every little thing you can. Excellent communication before we arrived and breakfast bits were supplied to. The apartment is in excellent condition with everything you can ask for to make it homely. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning.

Period cottage in a area of outstanding natural beauty within the Peak District on the banks of the river Dane. Lovely views and walking straight from the door along the river, through the woods or up onto the Roaches, Tittersworth ( Bird Sanctuary circular walk around the reservoir, 5 miles) Ashmount is strictly for 2 guests
Lovely bedroom ,outdoor eating area, cosy log fire, oak beams, lovely views.
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the Peak District national park close to market towns of Leek and Macclesfield (15minute drive) there are no shops in the village of Wincle, but there is the Ship Inn that provides very good meals. Chatsworth, Bakewell, Ashbourne are all within easy reach if you are so inclined but most guests once they are settled in don't seem to want to venture very far from Ashmount.
  • We enjoyed our stay at Gerald’s place last time so much we decided to do it again! And we loved it again. Such a beautiful cottage in such a gorgeous location.

    Joseph2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gerald was a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble and he took great care to explain how everything worked . Beautifully clean and in an amazing location - photos on site really don't convey quite how cozy and lovely the rooms are . We had intended to go mountain biking however one of the bikes broke and we ended up doing a beautiful walk instead and I do now think this particular area lends itself more to walking than mountain biking ! We sampled the Ship Inn and were surprised to find that they catered v well for vegetarians as we thought we may struggle ! Gerald had provided some essentials which was very considerate and best of all (as it was v cold weather wise ) there was an electric blanket and plenty of logs - if you run out Gerald only charges £5 for another basket full ! Thanks Gerald hope to visit again sometime soon.

    Anja2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely idyllic cottage, host and surroundings! The house has been beautifully restored giving it both character and comfort. Gerald makes the welcome outstanding - with a free local beer, wine, fruit and a basket of logs for the wood burning stove. We had lovely conversations with Ged who is knowledgeable about the area and obviously enjoys being a host. It's handy that he lives next door, though he is busy and in no way interferes with your independence. The surroundings are so wonderful. Lush green hills, grand trees all around (red and golden in Autumn), glorious dark river flowing nearby with a footpath along it's length. The whole district is filled with well-marked footpaths and to top it all there's microbrewery and a cosy pub within minutes. Wholeheartedly recommended.

    Andrew2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • It's a semi-detached stone cottage with the owner next door. The setting is very peaceful. The interior is spacious, comfortable and well furnished, with a good deal of period character. The standard of cleanliness was exemplary. The entrance is through the garage, which is a little odd, but the configuration is otherwise normal: living room and kitchen downstairs, bedroom and bathroom upstairs. It's perfect for a quiet getaway in the country.

    David2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute peace and quiet, with a good pub in the village

    Biddy2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We honestly can't think of any way the cottage could have been better - not only extremely clean and well equipped but a really beautiful homely space, clearly a lot of thought and love has gone into it. The log-burner and wooden beams are something special. Gerald was very welcoming but completely unassuming. The area is stunning too for anyone who hasn't been before. Perfect place to spend a cosy wintery weekend.

    Jonathan2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to stay! Fantastic walks from your doorstep, great pub just down the road and a gorgeous 16th century cottage that is wonderfully looked after and hosted by Gerald. The cottage is just perfect and it is comfy, cozy but also quite large for two with plenty of space. Thoroughly recommended and you will want to return!

    stuart2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Ashmount. It is a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The cottage is much more spacious than the pictures suggest and everything is provided for a very comfortable stay. Ged is a courteous and thoughtful host and communication/pick up of keys etc. was very easy. We enjoyed some long walks direct from the cottage along the river and around Rudyard Lake. We would certainly suggest dinner or lunch at The Ship Inn and also a trip to the Wincle brewery. We would not hesitate in recommending this property to others who are looking for a quiet stay in an idyllic location.

A place to truly savour - one mile off the beaten track, this charming Shepherds hut is positioned to take full advantage of the stunning and far reaching views, taking in the 3 counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. A sister hut to Dane Valley Shepherds hut; this individually designed space is truly relaxing and luxurious offering full modern amenity in a small and perfectly formed space featuring a full size shower, flushing toilet, log burner and fully equipped kitchen.
Hen Cloud shepherd hut is accessed via 3 oak steps up to the raised platform and the outside dining area. From here you access the hut via full height double glazed French doors. Inside to the right is the dining and seating area which can comfortably seat up to four. At night, collapse this table and pull down the king size wall bed to discover your sleeping area and another window from which to enjoy the view. The fully equipped kitchen gives you the option to do as much or as little catering as you wish with a small fridge, gas oven and hob enabling you to create some culinary delights. Alternatively, you can contact us if you would like food parcels or restaurant recommendations - you are on holiday after all! Last and by no means least, the all important ensuite containing a full size power shower, flushing toilet, heated towel rail and even a shaving point. A small but perfectly formed space to enjoy the charms of Whitelee Farm and the Peak District in.
Wincle is a thriving community with a population density of just 0.008 per hectare versus a 2.5 average across the rest of the UK. The landscape is characterised mainly by farming activity with a number of small businesses attracting locals and tourists alike. With a brewery, fishing lake and 2 dining pubs in the vicinity there is plenty to experience in the immediate area on foot. Travel to the adjacent villages and you will discover an Ice cream farm, large wedding venue, outdoor pursuits and organised water sports to name but a few things. Whilst we are very rural there are a number of towns within 20 minutes by car that offer a diverse and distinctive character from Antique shopping in Leek to a renowned theatre and famous baths in Buxton. Looking further afield the cities of Manchester and Sheffield are within an hours drive; with Liverpool, Leeds, Nottingham and Birmingham around one and a half hours.
  • This little getaway was the perfect break, secluded, quiet, peaceful and refreshing! Roaring toasty log fire, fully equipped full sized bathroom, kitchen and the most confusing king sized bed!! Emma was the hostess with mostest, helping us with all our needs even with such a last minute booking. We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy more of the luxury, WE WILL BE BACK!!!

    bailey2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Hen Cloud, it was beautifully clean, well equipped and in a peaceful, relaxing location with a nearby pub that serves great food within walking distance! The view is beautiful and a pleasure to wake up to. Emma was a wonderful host making sure we knew all the workings and had everything we needed. We only wish we could have stayed longer and we hope to return soon ☺️

    Ellie2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma was an excellent host. First contact was speedy and helpful. She was very flexible around check in and out as well as leaving us alone to enjoy The hut, although I am confident she would have been quickly available if we had needed her. The Hut was lovely, small but perfectly formed and all the space was cleverly used. It was spotless and well equipped. The views were stunning and we could have spent the whole day just watching the comings and goings on the farm. We were lucky enough to see the cows being herded by the farmer and dog right past our front door. As stated in the description there is NO signal (I managed to receive the odd message by putting my phone by the teapot on the shelf). I would recommend embracing this and preparing with lots of books etc. We played cards by candle light, keeping warm by the log burner. However, there is a lovely pub with wifi and good food if you need contact without the outside world. A wonderful stay. Thank you.

    Harriet2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn’t leave a better review if I tried. Our accommodation was truly perfect and our host, Emma, was so helpful and thoughtful. If you’re after a quiet getaway I wouldn’t look anywhere else. Do yourself a favour and book in here!

    Ashton2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s place is lovely and unique! Well away from anything else which makes for a nice quiet stay. Everything was extremely tidy and you can’t imagine how much you can squeeze into a small area. Lots of lovely walks and Wincle brewery is a nice stop off too

The lodge is situated in a pretty, woodland surrounded meadow. A short step takes you to the lake, the pub or the village. Opposite Lucky is the hand reared cockerel on site but he sleeps in so he's not too noisy. There are a couple of hand reared pigmy baby goats who are being trained to walk on a lead. If you want to meet these youngsters during your stay please contact me on the no's provided in the lodge. Local walks are delightful both round the lake and further afield up the Roaches. • We loved our stay here at Woodlands View. We enjoyed relaxing and looking over the meadow and taking a dip in the hot tub. Our luxury, totally self contained, spacious accommodation is situated in a prime location near Leek, a pretty market town boasting interesting shops and cafes and within easy reach of the Peak District, Alton Towers and beyond. The newly completed 3 storey, self contained accommodation is a perfect base for investigating the surrounding area. Ideal for all year round breaks, sightseeing or walking in the Peak District, visiting Alton Towers or finding out about the history of the Potteries.
A recently completed large, stylish annex in the grounds of a 1930's detached house, with stables and outstanding views over the gardens and fields. On the ground floor is a fully fitted kitchen diner with tables and chairs plus all the appliances required for a self-catering stay, plus a small welcome pack on arrival. On the first floor there is a galleried landing leading to a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with outstanding views over the garden and fields beyond, a shower room and a large, spacious lounge furnished to a high standard. A fabulous open ash staircase leads up to the lovely master bedroom which is built in the eaves of the house. This room can also be prepared as a Bridal Suite for weddings taking place at Dunwood Hall and The Ashes wedding venues. Both are under a mile away from Peak Rise. This bedroom has a small en-suite toilet and wash hand basin for your convenience. From the bedroom there are far reaching views over the rear garden, open countryside and stables as well as lovely views over the front garden and open fields. We can possibly accommodate 6 guests on request for a small extra fee. Business guests welcome.
Leek and the surrounding area has many good eating places, pubs and restaurants with a variety of different types of food including Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and of course good home made local cooking. One of our favourites is the Lazy Trout which is about a 15 to 20 minutes drive away. The White Lion in Leek offers good home cooking and has a lovely beer garden in the summer. The Black Horse pub is about ten minutes away, serves food and has a band on every Saturday night. The Wheel pub is 2 minutes walk away in the village and serves food every day. Children are welcome.
  • Lynn's place was perfect for our stay whilst attending a friends wedding just up the road at The Ashes (£8 return in a taxi) The whole house is beautifully decorated and furnished. It is immaculately clean. Nice touches like fresh flowers, fruit bowl and toiletries. Kitchen is well stocked and has everything you would need to make meals. Hosts are friendly and communication was very good including taxi number and local knowledge and tips. We enjoyed our stay immensely - thank you

  • Very welcoming hosts that gave us everything we needed for our say as well as suggestions for places to see and things to do during our stay. The accommodation was very clean and tidy and was perfect for the four of us staying there. Overall fantastic stay!

  • This holiday home is great value for money. It is in immaculate condition. The complementary starter pack of food was greatly appreciated

  • Our stay at Lynn was perfect very clean house, high standard materials used, very friendly people. This is a real 5 star house.

  • From the moment we arrived we felt at home in this lovely warm house. As Dutch people we got the English atmosphere we came for. Phil and Lynn are very nice and helpfull people. When we arrived there was already some bread, milk, juice fruit etc. ready for us. We never had that before! I can describe the house but the photos on the site are really the way the house is. The house is situated in a very nice area, very close to the lovely Peak District. We also went to Manchester and Liverpool, not to far away, just park your car at a P&R, buy a day travelcard for less money and enjoy these great cities! We really would recommend this accomodation to every one, not at least because of the very nice owners!

  • Wonderful hosts who pay so much attention to detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend.

  • What a lovely place! Really enjoyed our first mini break as a young family. Very friendly hosts and helpful with having some bread/milk and butter amongst other essentials all ready for us. Great info pack's for the local area and the accommodation. Could just do with some sharper chopping knifes in the kitchen! Would definitely stay again and will recommend Thankyou very much Lynn and Phil! X

  • Peak Rise is a beautiful accommodation. It's comfortable, the decor is lovely and the hosts are friendly and helpful. It was perfect for our little boy, almost 3. Excellent facilities and Lynn and Phil left additional things such as toys, safely gates and bed guards - really thoughtful. We'd definitely recommend staying there and next time we visit the area we would have no hesitation in staying there again. We're very lucky to have found such a gem of accommodation.

This Grade II listed cottage on the edge of the Peak District offers comfortable living in a historic setting. It is joined to the main farmhouse, and is fully self contained. Set within a 60 acre farm, on the outskirts of Bosley. We are also within easy reach of the towns of Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek and Buxton. Alton Towers is 35 minutes away. Further afield the M6, Manchester and Manchester Airport are easily accessed.
Mill House Farm Cottage is a semi-detached property that sleeps 5 people. The cottage includes: > a fully fitted kitchen (double oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, kettle & toaster) > a cloakroom with WC > a spacious dining room > a comfortable sitting room with a triple sofa, a double sofa and a sofa chair, TV (with Freesat) & DVD player > upstairs there are two bedrooms - the first bedroom has three single beds - the second has two single beds - we do have a vintage cot and highchair if required (please contact us). > the upstairs bathroom has a bath and a shower. Outside there is a large garden and a patio area at the end of the cottage, with a table and chairs and a BBQ in the summer. There is plenty of parking in the farm yard. The cottage is situated 50m from the Leek - Macclesfield road so traffic noise is audible but minor.
Mill House Farm Cottage is situated between the bustling market towns of Leek in Staffordshire and Macclesfield in Cheshire. We're just a mile from the west side of the Peak District National Park. There are lots of outdoor activities to experience in the Peak District including abseiling, caving, climbing, cycling, hiking, horse riding and running. For water sports, Tittesworth Water and Rudyard Lake are just a few miles away. Whatever the weather, there's plenty to see and do in the area. Leek (8 miles), Macclesfield (7 miles) , Congleton (7 miles) or Buxton (12 miles) have many attractions and a wide range of shops, markets, pubs, restaurants and other amenities. The village pub is a 10 minute walk from the cottage and serves good local ales and food. There are also many other country pubs and restaurants just a short drive away. Other nearby places of interest include Alton Towers, Poole's Cavern, Trentham Gardens, Rudyard Steam Railway and RSPB Coombes Valley to name just a few. And there are many other beautiful areas of the Peak District close by, such as The Roaches, Dovedale, The Tissington Trail and Monsal Head, for you to explore.
  • Lovely cosy cottage on a Farm ten minutes from Macclesfield. Lovely hosts too.

  • We stayed at Pete and Lynn's for 3 days and enjoyed our time thoroughly. Pete and Lynn apart from being great hosts are one of the nicest people we have met and helped us out throughout our stay but also allowed us enough privacy. The cottage is located very near to peak district and about 20 mins walk from Bosley Reservoir and offers very picturesque views/surroundings. There are several good walks nearby leading to spots near peak district. The cottage is a very cosy country cottage with large bedrooms, a very cosy sitting room /snug, big enough dining room and decent size kitchen. The furnishing in the house were of old English style which provides good storage space. However my favourite part of the house was the back garden which is beautifully kept with several flowering plants and trees. The place is slightly difficult to locate at first (as gps shows the wrong place).. . so best option is to call Lynn as you reach near to the place and she can guide you through. We definitely recommend to staying here to any one looking for a quiet country side holiday. Loved it and will surely be visiting here again.

  • Lovely area, lovely accommodation, lovely real wood burners, lovely and peaceful, lovely walks, lovely animals and last but not least lovely hosts in Pete and Lynne. All in all a lovely few days, and will certainly be visiting again. Thank you for everything.

  • We absolutely loved staying at Mill House Farm Cottage. It's in a great location for us keen walkers and we also enjoyed visitng the Silk Museum in Macclesfield and our day in Buxton. The cottage was so cosy and the kitchen was well equipped as, despite there being a pub up the road, we decided to cook all our evening meals. It was a unique experience staying on a working farm and very interesting hearing Lynne and Peter's stories and seeing the animals. A hard life but very satisfying. We are very keen to return as there are some great walks in the locality and couldn't think of a better base to do them from.

    Helene2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful way to live England with another eyes. Peaceful, kind and calm, everything is easier with Pete and Lynn's company. Lovely.

  • Our stay at Millhouse Farm was a really pleasant experience: Lynne was such a helpful and welcoming host. She helped us booking taxis, finding directions gave as very warm welcome at the beautiful cosy house. It was like visiting our extended family in a very good way having privacy at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Hope too be back in early March. Best wishes Anja and family

  • Lynne was the consumate host, communicative but not intrusive. The place was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We went cycling in the peak district national park and the location was great for this. Highly recommended.

Very rural, quiet and accessible. Near Jodrell Bank Telescope, Four Oaks Nurseries, and Tatton Park, Capesthorne Hall. RHS Gardens and several Restaurants in vicinity
  • We arrived very late in the evening after a lengthy drive. Had considerable difficulty finding the cottage, but this is largely because I misplaced the directions! Finally found the drive and was greeted warmly by the two pups (holding a slipper no less) and the owner. Very lovely fellow who took us to the cottage, showed us around and made us feel very welcome. Delightful little cottage...charming. Sadly we were there no more than about 12 hours and then had to catch a flight out of Manchester. Very close to the airport in miles, but miles away in stress. We so wishes we could stay longer to enjoy the garden.

  • We were very warmly welcomed to Judy and Brian's cottage while attending a wedding at Capesthorne Hall. The location worked out perfectly and such a beautiful, cosy spot to relax pre and post party. We loved the fresh eggs for breakfast and opening up the doors to the beautifully kept garden. Thank you both for going above and beyond as hosts. Highly recommended.

  • Beautiful setting - flowers, trees, pond, sheep and lambs. Peaceful and quiet. Cosy by the fire. The kitchen had a two burner electric top on a little wee oven. They generously provided fresh eggs, some milk and butter - along with other breakfast bits. We did not meet Brian and Judy - but they were fast to respond to emails, and helpful. Their friend and our host Mick was a very helpful, welcoming and generous person. Thanks for a lovely relaxing stay.

A clean and comfy, private, modern annexe. Separate to our house, well equipped and with your own breakfast and bathroom facilities. In the countryside but close to local shops, great pubs, restaurants, train stations, Knutsford, Manchester, the airport and the motorway network.
We live in a beautiful spot - in the countryside, but close to to lots of things - transport options, Manchester, attractions etc. The room is right next to our house, but separate, making it private for you. It is like a hotel suite with a lovely bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower, but it also has a breakfast bar/work area and is equipped with a fridge, kettle, a Nespresso coffee machine and toaster. Every day we will fill the fridge with things so that in the morning you can have breakfast, coffee, tea at your own time and pace. The bed is a really comfy Regal from Vi-Spring - King Size. There is an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer too.
We live on a quiet lane, not far from the shops in Mobberley. In easy reach are - Walks in the countryside. Great pubs and Restaurants. Train stations. Local shops. Attractions - Tatton Park, Jodrell Bank, etc. Knutsford, Mobberley, Hale, Altrincham, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and other surrounding towns and villages. Manchester. Old Trafford and The Etihad etc. The motorway network. Lots of other interesting things to see and visit - just ask us if you want recommendations.
  • Murray and Debbie really are superb hosts, this is our second visit in the past week and again we were not disappointed. As I said in my last review the Annex is spotless, as are the towels and bedding. It’s the little touches that make staying with them such a delight, bottled water, homemade fruit salad, coffee machine, fantastic breakfast, beautiful surrounding. Alongside this Murray and Debbie themselves, you really are a credit to Air BNB and yourselves, a very friendly couple who are on hand should you have any questions but never intrude on your stay. Keep up the good work and we will be back! Thank you again, Russell & Tracy

    Russell & Tracy2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!!! What an amazing find! Murray and Debbie are the perfect hosts. This place is unbelievable, they have thought of every little detail to make anyone's stay so comfortable. One of the best beds I have ever slept in and spotlessly clean throughout. I will definitely return and tell everyone about this beautiful annexe. This little gem is far better than most 4 star hotels and I can't recommend it highly enough You won't be disappointed if you check in here.

    Helen2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is the luxury end of air B and B but at a very reasonable price! Sadly we only stayed for 1 night before an early flight from Manchester airport. I would have liked to have had a leisurely start to enjoy the full range of breakfast goodies- cereals, bread (with a toaster) and jam selection, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, chocolate bars, fresh juice and milk, bottled water, tea, coffee and even an espresso machine. Luxury toiletries are provided in the wet room along with huge fluffy towels. Even mini toothpastes, which was great as we'd forgotten ours! The room is separate from the house with its own entrance and is beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. A comfy bed with quality pillows and bedding added to the experience. Muurray's communication before arrival was always prompt and helpful. He met us and gave us useful information....and told us how to get to the pub! He even offered to pick us up! We had a lovely 20 minute walk across the fields on public footpaths to The Bull in Mobberley, which served excellent food. My advice to Murray is don't change a thing! You've got it just right....and we will be back.

    Wendy 2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • WHAT A GEM!! I was looking for somewhere to stay on a business trip. Great place, photos don't do it justice. WIFI, somewhere to work, good facilities and hosts couldn't do enough. Nice to have privacy, but have Murray and Debbie nearby if I wanted anything. Good to be able to make my own breakfast when it suited me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Thanks Murray and Debbie!

    Ben2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accommodation and hosts! The accommodation was spotless, cosy and lovely. Murray and Debbie have thought about all the small touches. The fridge had plenty of lovely food for your breakfast or to have as a snack and the room was fully equipped with everything you would need! Although we didn't meet Debbie Murray was so friendly and helpful. They have also put together a great guide of things to do in the area. The local area is lovely and very pretty. Can't recommend these hosts enough!!

    Naomi2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Don't expect the ordinary! This is really excellent self-contained accommodation adjacent to the hosts' home, plenty of parking, safe and secure. Located just outside Mobberley in a semi rural location yet deceptively convenient being less than 10 mins from the M6, close to Knutsford and within an easy drive of the new Airport business parks at Manchester Airport. I even found that Media City, The Lowry Theatre and Old Trafford stadium are only a half hour away for those not wanting soulless City Centre accommodation and prices. Business Travellers - do you go through a mental checklist when entering your hotel room. This is the alternative and it absolutely ticks all the boxes. Modern and well furnished complete with all the amenities you need; reliable wifi with seamless login; so many sockets around the room that your lead WILL reach!; a high end super-comfortable bed that drifts you to sleep before you think about tomorrow's meetings. Oh....4 comfortable pillows on the bed (Not 2 on the bed and 2 wrapped up in the wardrobe to save on laundry costs); hairdryer, iron and board, plenty of towels that are actually fluffy; a mini fridge with juices that have seen real fruit; quality yoghurts and fresh milk which says 'No' to struggling with those long life mini milk capsules. Did I mention the coffee machine with nespresso capsules and the fresh crumpets, bread, butter and choice of tiptree jams. Everything you need for breakfast. Dinner or snack? A choice of 3 pub/restaurants in Mobberley full of character, upscale food at mid scale prices that won't bust your expenses limit.....Sshhhh don't tell the boss - The Bull has a great Whisky and Whiskey menu too. If the room is available - book it. You will get a genuinely warm welcome from the very friendly and caring hosts. For leisure or business this accommodation is a home from home and I, for one, look forward to the next stay.

    Richard2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking, so I was delighted to find such lovely accommodation. Murray & Debbie have a beautiful home in a rural setting. Murray is the perfect host; very friendly, easy going & keen to make sure you have everything you need. He also sends a welcome email before arrival and checks by email that you have enjoyed your stay if you leave early like I had to. It's close to upmarket Mobberley, the train station and 25 mins to the airport. I couldn't have asked for more in terms of comfort. All of the finishing touches are lovely. Plenty of food for breakfast, plus a sweet treat or two & assorted drinks. Upmarket toiletries and a beautifully comfortable bed with great quality bedding. Just hope I can get booked again when I next travel to Manchester.

Stacey, the hostess, is lovely and very helpful and accommodating and any questions were swiftly answered. We felt at home right away and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Highly recommend.

  • Fantastic stay, Stacey was very helpful and made our stay so enjoyable and comfortable. If we are in the area again we would definitely head back here!

    Frankie2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Saddlery is a fabulous place to stay. Everything you need for a comfortable stay including a very cosy bed with lovely linen. It was difficult to leave after our 8 night stay! Stacey and husband Danny are first class hosts. Nothing is too much trouble, super friendly but not invasive. The area around the farm is stunning, with beautiful walks and easy access to all areas around Timbersbrook, although I am biased being from the area! Beautifully quiet and serene, a place of calm. We will definitely be back!

    Jo2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The sadlery although difficult to find @ first, lived up to all our expectations. The accommodation was peaceful and well appointed, plenty of room for the 2 of us and our dog and we're so grateful to Stacey for doing some dog sitting whilst we attended a wedding. The farm has all the usual traits of Cheshire countryside and we came away feeling we had picked excellent accommodation for our brief stay.

  • Very cosy apartment. The best bed I've slept in apart from my own! Very clean and well equipped. Tranquil surroundings and lovely views. Great location, a couple of miles out of Congleton town centre and great access to surrounding towns like Macclesfield, Staffordshire and other parts of Cheshire. We were made very welcome and our host friendly and nothing too much trouble. The little extras such as quality tea, coffee, milk, eggs and chocolate biscuits were really appreciated. We will definitely be going back. I recommend it. 10/10

  • The Saddlery is a great place to stay for a relaxing break in the countryside and makes a great base to explore the Peak District. It's situated in a quiet and secluded location whilst being easily accessible from the M6. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped and the hosts very friendly and welcoming - even providing fresh farm eggs and directions to local places of interest. There's plenty to see on the farm itself - including horses and peacocks - and there are great views from The Cloud, which is a short walk away. Highly recommended.

    Stephen2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at the saddlery. The location is very nice, away from it all but very close to shops etc. The flat is very comfortable, well equipped to a high standard. Stacey and her husband were extremely helpful giving us maps of walks for our two furry friends. We arrived quite late after a long day driving. Stacey had left us milk, tea bags, sugar, chocolates and croissants for breakfast! We were left in peace but nothing was too much trouble if we asked. The dogs were welcomed and Stacey even offered to pick up after them having allowed them on her front garden to relieve themselves. I recommend the Saddlery, it is faultless.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Victoria’s flat, which was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was super comfortable. It’s right in the centre of town with everything on the doorstep! And beautiful views over the dales too. Victoria was a fantastic host, she even left us milk and breakfast foods in the fridge as we were arriving late, and was full of local tips and info. Would definitely come back to this place!

2 bedroom caravan on a farm in a rural location on Cheshire/Staffs border. Caravan is set in a peaceful position tucked away on the side of a hill with views over green pastures and Congleton Edge. The location is very peaceful and quiet, lots of wildlife. The caravan has 2 bedrooms - a double and a twin. It has a small bathroom with a shower, a WC, fully equipped kitchen (gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, kitchen utensils, crockery), TV with freeview, gas fire. Birds Nest hot water is provided by a consecutive water heater, which gives enough hot water for a shower or doing washing up but it means that once the heated amount is used it needs 10-15 min to heat up the next batch. It is adequate but for convenience, there is is a full size shower room in the barn, which guests are welcome to use. Duvets, pillows, bed linen and guest size towels are provided. Birds Nest comes with outside terrace with table and chairs, cast iron fire pit, beautiful mature garden and outdoor space. To help you settle in on arrival – we provide tea, coffee and fresh milk.

  • Anya was great! She welcomed us in the middle of the night and helped us settle in. The surrounding is quiet and beautiful as promised. The caravan is cosy and has everything you may need

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bird's Nest Caravan. It is located on a top of a mountain inside an operating farm. We really enjoyed the presence of farm animals and wildlife around us. The views from the caravan are spectacular! The caravan was spacious enough for 3 adults and 2 kids. It also included all the amenities required for our stay of 1 week. Anya is such a great host who is always willing to help! I can highly recommend Bird's Nest Caravan for anyone who is looking for comfortable but affordable accommodation near the Peak District National Park.

  • Me and my family loved the space and location, as well as all the expected supplements for cooking etc. The beds were comfortable and details about arrival were clear and accurate. The only feedback would be to provide a list of how-tos for things like the oven, heater, etc. Otherwise it was a really nice stay and highly recommended!

    Mark2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic Host! Great Views! And we would most definitely stay again. Thank you, Anya, for a great stay and such amazing flexibility. You made our Christmas very special indeed.

  • Anya met us on arrival and straight away made us feel very welcome. Listing was as described. Would definitely recommend the accommodation.

  • Lovely views and peaceful location, nice pub short walk up the road. Clean and comfy caravan, firewood provided for fire pit, well equipped kitchen. Hot water ran out after a little while, but you'd expect this from a caravan and there was a shower up on the farm which we could use which was helpful. Heater and gas fire work very well- we definitely needed them in October and they warmed us up brilliantly!

  • This is a beautiful rural spot not far from town, airport and highways. The place is clean and comfortable and the host very welcoming. The occasional jet overhead so seems incongruous with a landscape that looks like it was painted by John Constable.

    peg2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Elen and her husband Andy are great hosts and very accommodating. The wing was perfect for our stop over and very comfortable, with a good bathroom and spacious bedroom and sitting room. The setting is also lovely and very convenient from the motorway.

  • My husband and I had a lovely stay. Clear directions and a warm welcome. The apartment was warm and beautifully decorated with everything you could need. It was very clean and the wifi was great! Quiet, peaceful place but lots of great places to explore nearby. Hilary was there to welcome us and see us off but we felt we could have approached them if we needed to. There was tons of information in binders in the property too which was very helpful. Great place, we would definately go again.

  • Myself and my boyfriend stayed here over new year and we couldn't have picked a better place! Hilary gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and then the privacy we needed once we were settled in. The accomidation was absolutely spotless and bigger than the pictures suggest! The extremely comfortable bed and modern kitchen and bathroom facilities were great. We particularly appreciated the bottle of wine left for us on arrival! The private garden overlooking the little lake is beautiful in the morning and was a beautiful way to welcome in the new year. Hilary left plenty of walking guides and maps for us to explore Congleton and the peaks and we were not Dissapointed! We found an extremely welcoming pub called the Castle Inn about a 10 minute walk away with delicious food and lots of picturesque walking routes in and around the village. Overall it was an absolutely perfect stay, we could not fault it at all! We have told everyone about it and would love to come back soon.

Nestled in the secret garden, just 2 miles from Knutsford town centre, this Nordic Tipi is a beautiful space, perfect for romantic getaways or family holidays alike.
Full king size bed with luxurious foam mattress. Heat is provided by the over head electric heater and the central fireplace (which burns bio-ethanol). Plus we have now included an electric blanket to make it extra warm over the winter months. Two large tables and benches provide a great space for dining and relaxing finished with super soft reindeer hides. Mains electricity with numerous sockets throughout. Please note the below carefully: While we have done our very best to make the Tipi as luxurious as possible at the end of the day it is still a tent and is not fully sealed from outside like a house/hotel would be. So you will at some times, (despite that fact that we do a thorough check and removal of anything unwanted before you arrive for your stay) get the occasional fly, bug, spider or snail who makes their way in univited. Neither Zoe or I are Dr Doolittle and despite our best attempts to ask these creatures not to come into our Tipi they still do. If this makes you uncomfortable then we would ask that you look for somewhere else to stay, but please don't come and stay with us and then mark us down on cleanliness it is not fair.
Only 2 miles to the delightful market town of Knutsford with all its restaurants and bars. The Secret Garden Tipi is just 0.5m from the award winning Dun Cow Inn. Surrounded by green fields and pasture, its the perfect spot for walkers who want to explore the Cheshire countryside. Convenient to Knutsford, Tatton Park, Alderley Edge, Holmes Chapel or Northwich. Knutsford and Chelford train stations are all approx 5 minutes drive away.
  • The tipi is massive pictures don't do it justice. Our biggest concern was being cold through the night as we were staying 23rd of September - the heated blanket keeps you comfortable all night without a need for other heat source. The location is nice getting scenic views of the nearby fields. The tipi itself is located in a corner of a big garden, far enough from everything to feel private. Couldn't have asked for better hosts, Simon and Zoe are great and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

    Eduards2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the tipi. Simon was a fantastic host throughout, answering any questions we had about the local area quickly and recommended a wealth of restaurants to eat at and activities to do. Simon couldn’t have been more hospitable, making us feel very welcome, even offering us a lift into town. The tipi itself is huge and immaculate inside. It is beautifully decorated, offering the full unique Nordic experience. The bed is comfy and comes with an electric blanket and an overhead heater, which offers much needed warmth at night. As we stayed during the week, the road was very noisy, particularly in the mornings. Although Simon and Zoe can’t help the location and they do offer earplugs to mitigate the noise, guests should be prepared for a very early start as people go to work. Simon and Zoe very thoughtfully prepared a light breakfast for us consisting of fruit and breakfast bars including water and juice. A kettle would be great in future so guests can start their day with a cup of tea or coffee. We would thoroughly recommend Simon and Zoe’s tipi to anyone considering staying.

    Oliver2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place to stay, the tipi is huge and very comfortable. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming.

    Jade2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in the tipi; it was much bigger than anticipated and very cosy with a lovely ambience and plenty of heat sources provided. Even though it does get cool in the night we definitely didn't notice. The distance from the tipi to the toilet was a definite downside to the experience and we'd recommend taking a torch to use it in the nights. The nearby road can get quite loud but Simon & Zoe provided earplugs for us in case it became too noisy. If you're after something a little different it's worth a visit!

    Carys2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the secret garden tipi it was really clean and well equipped with all you could need. Simon was an excellent host very helpful! We highly recommend

    Dominic2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time as Simon and Zoe's ti pi. All of the extras (light breakfast, fuel for fire pit, coal and fire lighters for BBQ, ice bucket) were such a lovely touch and helped to make our stay special. The ti pi was huge and absolutely immaculate inside. We loved the lights, and the fire pit made it lovely and romantic. There was even a heater above the bed with a light in. The location was great for knutsford and we visited the makers market the next morning which we highly recommend if your stay is first Sunday of month. Great value for money. Had a lovely time. Thanks very much!

    Claire2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly, the tipi is huge - genuinley so much larger than the pictures portray. Its also immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with homely luxuries that go above and beyond "glamping". The central open fireplace, subtle lighting and reindeer skin rugs make for a lovely autumn evening after dark. Simon and Zoe were the perfect hosts, great communication throughout and a very welcoming reception on arrival. Full marks all round, and definitely an experience I'd recommend to anyone!

    Daniel2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Simon and Zoe were wonderful hosts, very attentive and considerate. The tipi and the furnishings were immaculate. My only tip would be to beware of booking during damp weather and turning on bright lights in the tipi at night which unavoidably attracts bugs.

Luxurious holiday cottage in stunning location. We are based in the very north of Staffordshire and in the Peak District National park very close to three shires head where Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire all meet, this makes us a great base to explore the area.
Fully stocked kitchen and dining area with open plan front room which has TV, DVD Player, selection of DVDs (more on request), various games, books and magazines. Walk in shower, towels and hairdryer supplied. All bedding with wardrobes and units.
If you want to venture out in the car then just down the road is the lovely town of Leek which is very dog friendly and has regular local markets throughout the week. Then to the north is Buxton which is famous for being the highest market town and its spa water, dome, theatre and many more fabulous buildings.20 minutes to the east is Bakewell be sure to try a Bakewell pudding and just a bit further is the grand Chatsworth house. We are 30 minutes from Macclesfield, 50 minutes from Manchester and Sheffield and 40 minutes from Stoke-on-Trent with all the big name pottery factories and museums. So with plenty to see and do you are going to need longer than a weekend visiting Hazel Barrow Farm!
  • Very nice and cozy converted cottage. Very quiet and surrounded by natural beauty. Great host.

  • We had such a great stay, seriously can't recommend this place enough.

    Katie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We only wished we could have stayed longer. Very central for Buxton and Bakewell areas. Peaceful quiet surroundings. Wifi isn't great but this wasn't an issue and made us appretiate our surroundings rather than see everything through a screen. Recommend The Winking Man pub. Would wholeheartedly recommend Hazel Barrow farm cottage.

  • A lovely place to stay, beautiful scenery and lovely hosts. We will be staying again.

    James2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just come back from a few relaxing days away, lovely and peaceful location and the cottage has every amenity you need. Although it's quite near the camping field there was no noise, and the surroundings are amazing. We were able to get easily to Bakewell from where we were, but you are really near the main road to get to Buxton or any of the surrounding villages so the location is great, just wish the weather was as good as the accommodation. But we both said we can't wait to go back, for the cottage or camping :)

    Louise2017-08-08T00:00:00Z

  • Cosy cottage with some amazing walks on your doorstep. Clean and well equipped with a great shower!

    John2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is cottage is real gem - its easy to get places, great if you want to walk, climb or just enjoy the fabulous scenery. All the facilities are as described, its very comfortable and for people who need everything on one level it is perfect. If there is one tiny criticism it is that the internet is very temperamental and the TV is restricted - but the hosts are very honest about the WIFI, there are plenty of DVDs and the viewing wonderful (even in the fog!). Thank you for a lovely place to stay.

Our small but comfortable 1 bedroom cottage is situated at the edge of a village. It has spectacular views across the valley and is in easy reach of interesting places to visit such as Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and the Peak District.
Situated on the edge of a village, at the end of a private lane you will find your holiday retreat. On the ground floor is the kitchen, a double bedroom and the bathroom. Up the stairs is the living room with views over the valley. The Wolery has all the modern conveniences that you need for a relaxing holiday.
Situated at the edge of a village in the unspoilt and little know area that is the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Wolery is a comfortable walking distance from the local, well stocked village shop and 3 very good pubs, who are happy to welcome dogs. The Marquis of Granby and The Red Lion offer good choice menu and prices. The village is situated close to cycle paths nearby where there is safe cycling for miles. Also, locally there are fishing pools and clay pigeon shooting ranges should you wish to try countryside pursuits.
  • The Wolery is an absolute gem of a cottage, superbly appointed and equipped but cosy and homely too. The views are beautiful, the countryside peaceful and there are many places of interest nearby. Michelle was friendly and welcoming and we really appreciated the edible goodies and pretty flowers, thank you so much.

  • We loved this cottage. It was well equipped with everything we could need and a few added extras which were a lovely bonus and really made us feel welcome. The views were spectacular and we'll definitely be back again

  • This sweet cottage is snug, perfectly appointed and has gorgeous views. It was a relaxing haven from work being done on our house and we were delighted to be able to take our dog with us. There's a pretty enclosed garden too. Having the bikes for guests to use is a really nice touch and there are brilliant cycle routes locally. Michelle is a lovely host and the cottage has everything you could need, including beautiful bedlinen, snuggly towels and large wine glasses!

  • Very cosy converted barn.much impressed by the lovely fresh flowers, oatcakes and cheese left to welcome us. Lack of signage was a slight problem but we arrived after a very long journey in the dark. Sorry about your lawn Michelle. Elaine and Rupert

  • Village has 3 pubs, a shop and butchers. Great walks from the door. Stunning views from the house. Really quiet location which we loved. About ten minute walk to the pub. House really well equipped and cosy. Would highly recommend staying.

  • This cosy, secluded country retreat is the perfect short get away. Walks from the door, private garden for the pooch to stretch her legs, pub and village in walking distance, excellent views. We couldn't have asked for more.

  • Fabulous stylish barn conversion. Great welcome and spotlessly clean with the bonus of wonderful views and a ten minute walk across fields to the village with three friendly pubs. Great walking from the doorstep. Ticked all our boxes!

Cosy house close to the village centre (just 50 metres from a pub and a 100m from a coffee shop and supermarket). Village in middle of Cheshire, well located for Manchester being on the main Crewe-Manchester train line.
My home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac and is close to the village centre of Holmes Chapel which features pubs and restaurants, coffee shops, super markets, a doctors and some nice independent stores. The village is just a few minutes walk away from my property and the nearest pub/restaurant is just some 50 metres away (although rest assured my house is very quiet). The village itself is just a few miles from the M6 motorway (J18) and is on the main train line between Manchester and Crewe.
  • Scott was most welcoming and his house is in a very convenient location.

    Andrea2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is clean, cosy and in a quiet location! It was perfect for what we needed on this trip and i would highly recommend it :) The location is a small town and the house is ideally a few minutes walk literally (maybe even less!) from Sainsbury's, pubs and an Italian restaurant. We didn't get to meet Scott but he was even so very hospitable and left us very easy and clear instructions and help for our stay! Thanks Scott! x

  • Amazing home with lovely little touches. we though there was a shower only but there was also a bath. Kitchen was amazing and there was every utensil known to man in there. we enjoyed Scott's amazing car collection and would love to stay again. Sainsburys at the end of the street and a great amount of local quaint shops within walking distance Scott's was a gem of a find

I am a short drive away from Alton Towers, Chatsworth, Ashbourne and the Peak District, only 45 minutes from Manchester yet still in the traditinal market town of Leek.
It is possible to walk into the main street in Leek in two minutes and yet the cottage is a quiet side street by the churchyard so feels out of town in the house or back garden. I have two double rooms by special arrangement ( message me) but generally one double room available and use of sitting room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom as well as sitting area in garden to rear. Free parking on the street outside the house.
Quiet street adjacent to church and churchyard. Waitrose two minutes walk. High Street two minutes walk.
  • Delightful house set in a beautiful town with plenty of local amenities and right on the doorstep to some wonderful countryside. Michelle was quick to answer any questions and open to last minute changes.

The house is on a quiet street, we slept really well each night. The house has everything for a comfortable stay! Michelle was very good to reply promptly with us and organised our stay really well even thought she was't there. A very good choice for Leek and the Peak District!

Secure off road parking. Walking distance to Colshaw Hall wedding venue and Radbroke Hall Barclays. Close to the market town of Knutsford and Manchester airport. Suit 2 adults or a couple.
  • Great stay at Christine's place after a wedding at Colshaw Hall. Perfect location walked there and back late on, max 5mins each way door to door. Cabin is perfect very cosy, comfy bed (I took the sofa bed it was easier than climbing after a few)... would definitely go back and hope to do so, and see more of the area!

  • Christine's place was a treat. It's tucked away next to her home and offers privacy and seclusion if needs be. It has everything you need for a self sufficient stay - washing machine, hobs, fridge, microwave etc. It's also a unique room beautifully decorated and finished for a comfy atmosphere. The photos don't do justice to how nice the place is. I stayed alone but this place would really suit couples. Christine is a lovely hostess and made me feel very welcome whilst also offering me time and space when I needed it. A great stay.

My place is close to Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Manchester and only 5 miles from the airport with excellent walking, restaurants and dining close by. You’ll love it because of its location, vaulted beamed ceiling in the bedroom and four poster bed. It is small but very cosy, romantic and full of character- close to great pub restaurants in the heart of Cheshire . Good for couples, solo adventurers, small families and business travellers. For a fee further guests can sleep on the sofa bed.
This is a cosy, beamed cottage with fully equipped kitchen (including oven and microwave) and bathroom and on site parking. The bedroom upstairs has a beautiful beamed, vaulted ceiling and whilst the sitting room is small it has a sofa (bed) and small dining table with 2 chairs and 40 inch flat screen wall mounted TV with Netflix loaded
Alderley Edge is a pretty and unique village with lovely restaurants and bars which are buzzing in the evenings. There are lots of lovely walks nearby including the National Trust walks up at the top of Alderley Edge. The area is rich in quaint pubs which serve excellent food and central Manchester is just a 20 minute drive away. The airport is just a 10 minute drive away.

  • We absolutely loved our stay here, albeit a very short one unfortunately. Hopefully we will get a chance to stay longer next time. Leila is so friendly and welcoming and the accommodation she offers is perfect for a couple. Quite romantic I thought. The bed is on the soft side but comfortable and very cosy with soft billowy pillows and duvet. The little extra touches of chocolates and bottled water next to the bed are just lovely. There is a dedicated place to park your car and the location is excellent for visiting the area. Leila is very efficient when it comes to communication and offers a wealth of information and recommendations for restaurants etc... All in all, we found the check in and check out system very easy and relaxed. An absolute pleasure.

  • What a wonderful gem of a find! We stayed here for three nights after our wedding and couldn't have asked for a more perfect oasis of calm. Leila was very approachable and easy to communicate with and the coach house was exactly as described and very clean. Easy parking and very close to Alderley Edge. Would definitely recommended!

Bijou guest house. Stay in our converted piggery, built out of local stone and set in lovely grounds on the edge of Ipstones. The Piggery is decorated as a tiny house, complete with its own shower and toilet and warmed by underfloor heating. The Piggery is a great base for visits to Alton Towers, The Peak District, The Potteries and outdoor pursuits such as walking and cycling.
Our proximity to Alton Towers makes this a popular destination for guests. A great place to relax after a busy day at the theme park!
Ipstones is a pretty village in the Staffordshire moorlands with a thriving community spirit. With three pubs, a shop and butchers to cater for your needs, friendly locals abound and frequent music nights (Sunday night acoustic night at The Sea Lion). The walking surrounding The Piggery is excellent - it is just off the Staffordshire Way, on the doorstep of Consall and Froghall Warf, which use the industrial heritage to great use with canal cafes and pubs and steam railway. The ale rail is a great way to enjoy what local beers and ciders are around with a trip on the train!
  • Cosy stay for two, we were there two nights but it really is quite small so long stays might be tricky! The heated floor is a great bonus, and there's amenities for basic meals (including a microwave) which make sure you feel at home. It's a great space for peace and quiet, but be aware this means dining in the local village gets difficult after 8 o'clock. We loved the firepit outside on the veranda, as well as the attention from Pip's friendly dog and cat!

    Katie2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, clean, tidy and friendly hosts. 2 local pubs near by for food (15 minutes walk). Would stay again

    Carl2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We've just got back from a relaxing stay at The Piggery for 2 nights. The hosts and stay was more than we could have asked for. Situated in a picturesque farm The Piggery may seem like it's in the middle of nowhere being very peaceful and relaxing but shops, pubs, restaurants and things to do are either walkable or not a long drive away! We started off with a day at Alton Towers which ended at an amazing Indian restaurant called Thornbury Hall. Our second day was taken up by a beautiful walk on the peaks, one we found in the walking booked provided, The Roches. Again we went out for dinner, this time at a great Italian in Leek called The Rapoli. Not only is it a great location but the interior and what is provided is also great. The Piggery is very cosy, great use of space and all 2 people require for a relaxing stay. Overall a great stay and we both highly recommend it. Thank you both xx

    Karen2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We love The Piggery! A gorgeous, tiny and perfectly formed place to rest your head. It's warm, peaceful and very well equipped. Phillipa was a wonderful host and we hope to come back again next time we're in the Peak District.

  • Great views, lovely peaceful rural location.

    Helen2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to spend the weekend visiting the Peak District. Phillipa was very nice and friendly, and although the accommodation was quite tiny it had just what we needed. The area is very beautiful and quite, perfect for a relaxing weekend combined with proper mountain biking in the area. It is a shame the weather wasn´t nicer, we wouldn´ve spent more time at the lovely garden.

    Marta2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy place and cleverly appointed and fitted out. Superb food at local Inn Marquis of Granby, walking distance. Great walks at Ilam and Dovedale. ..beautiful village and locality to visit only 8 miles away. Highly recommended.

  • The photos do this gem of an Airbnb absolute justice. We loved staying here after a long day at Alton Towers, the surroundings were beautiful and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Rob even helped us change our tyre after we got a flat, too kind! The piggery is just 20 minutes drive from Alton Towers and was only 15 minutes walk to a nearby pub that served great value and super tasty food. The accommodation itself was beyond our expectations, with underfloor heating and a very comfy bed teamed with some quirky little decorations and even complimentary milk and towels provided by the host, we had more than we could have hoped for. The accommodation even had a fridge, microwave, kettle and other utensils. Overall we adored our stay here and only wish that we could have had better weather to enjoy the porch and fire pit! Thanks to Pip and Rob for our wonderful stay.
