  • Needed a place to stay for a quick unplanned overnight this time, and Jeannine was so gracious to accommodate a last minute request. Appreciated a nice cool patio to relax on after a blazing hot day and chatting with Jeannine over a nice glass of Pendleton wine. She is so lovely, and enjoyed getting to know her a bit more and discovering we have *a lot* in common needless to say. Experienced the downstairs suite this visit, which was lovely - nicely appointed with a claw foot tub and wine country décor. In the morning was spoiled with a strong cup of coffee and a yummy frittata, and chatted with other visitors from San Diego overlooking the fountain, and vineyards. "Ah, this is the life!" So lovely, and so sad that we couldn't spend more time enjoying the beautiful grounds!

  • Jeannine, Mike and Leslie are amazingly friendly and so accommodating. Their winery is beautiful and perfect for a getaway. From the time they welcomed us to the door to the goodbye hugs, they treated us as family vs guests. Mike is so knowledgable about wine and loves to share his passion with others. Jeannine is the wonderful and just made us feel so at home. Leslie is a breath of fresh air. Jackson is the friendliest dog who you can't help but love. Overall, wonderful trip! We will be back.

  • Jeannine and Mike were wonderful hosts, who truly embodied the hosting spirit and culture that Airbnb aspires towards. They give you enough space and privacy if you are looking for a secluded, romantic getaway, but you'll inevitably feel drawn into their company by their warmth and hospitality. The estate itself was beautiful, and provided numerous different spaces to lounge, relax, and enjoy the rustic scenery. My girlfriend and I started our visit with a glass of wine in the hot tub, enjoying some alone time before coming upstairs to join our hosts and two other guests for wine and cheese on the patio. After the first few glasses of wine with our new friends, we considered canceling our dinner plans in downtown Geyserville because we were having so much fun! The next morning, we woke up to hot coffee and freshly made french toast — it couldn't have been a more lovely start to the day. Overall, I couldn't give a stronger recommendation for Jeannine and Mike. Also, they have a lovely golden retriever named Jackson who is an absolutely gem :) Thank you guys for the wonderful time, and we can't wait to come back soon!

  • Jeannine and Mike were wonderfully hospitable hosts! They gave us a free wine tasting and gave us the best tips to optimize our time exploring the area's wineries. The property was beautiful, set on top of a small mountain with great views of vineyards and the nearby valleys. I wish we could have spent more time here. I highly recommend booking this if you are looking for a cozy place to stay without the crowds or commercialization of the more touristy Napa and Sonoma vineyards.

  • Jeannine and Michal were such gracious hosts, and you won't believe the views from the place. This was our first time staying in a room in someone's house, and they made it so easy, treating us like old friends. Certainly felt that way as we were leaving in the morning. They were so easygoing and let us come by during a wine club pickup party, which meant we arrived to a wine tasting. In the morning, there was a bottomless pot of coffee, and Jeannine served blintzes and blueberry sauce at their huge dining table, what a nice surprise!

  • Michael and Jeannine have an amazing place among rolling vineyards, and they are great hosts! We had a great time and will definitely go back.

  • We had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay with Jeannine and Mike. The setting - a short drive from Highway 101 - is very scenic with easy access to dining and wine tasting in Geyserville, Cloverdale and beyond. The large home is artfully decorated and the room is clean, quiet and very comfortable. Jeannine and Mike are very friendly helpful hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them. An added bonus was sampling several of the wines that Mike produces and hearing him talk about them. Freshly-brewed coffee was available early each morning and we enjoyed the light breakfasts that Jeannine prepared...a nice personal touch. We also enjoyed playing with their friendly dog, Jackson. Communication was excellent throughout. Highly recommended.

    Mike2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jeannine and Mike were so helpful getting us to their beautiful estate. Jeannine spent a lot of time giving us tips about visiting the vineyards and gardens in both Sonoma and Napa. Further, she had an absolutely WONDERFUL bottle of red wine waiting for us when we arrived and made us feel at home. We loved hearing the story about how she began and meeting her husband and daughter. A storybook family in a storybook environment. So nice to have met them, wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to coming back again! I would highly recommend their home, both for the beauty of the environment and the hospitality extended by the family.

The Little House is a cosy studio cottage with separate kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, wifi, sitting/dining area with TV for movies and Apple TV. Wine, coffee, light snacks and a fine view complete a quick wine country respite. Not fancy or modern, but very very comfortable and serene
A separate cottage , The Little House is a large studio (450 sq ft) with a kitchen, bathroom, queen bed and a sitting/dining area with a flat screen TV set up for movies and Apple TV (no cable). The cottage is close to our house but mutual privacy is important to us so you should feel completely on your own. Of course we have wireless Internet. A bottle of wine, coffee and light snacks await. The Little House is right for a couple, two friends (or one person) who love to read, dine, sit on the deck, rock in the hammock, watch movies and drink wine. Ideal for the traveler serious about wine tasting, dining and relaxing (or for the more active -- biking and hiking). We are on a hill, just outside of town. Cloverdale is a modest town 5 minutes from the Alexander Valley, 10 from Geyserville, 10 from Dry Creek , about 18-20 minutes to Healdsburg and the Russian River Valley and 30 to the Anderson Valley, Our Little House is fully equipped, comfortable and everything you might want – but homey and slightly eccentric. It is older but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. No granite counter tops here. We aren't the Four Seasons or the Ritz, but we spent many years of cozy weekends in The Little House and hope you will too. The kitchen has a 2 burner stove, microwave, toaster, blender, roaster oven, pots and pans and utensils. It isn't fancy but very serene. It is a bit removed from it all, but walking distance to town (down a fairly steep hill) and a short drive to what we consider the best of wine country. Although you will have a private deck, feel free to enjoy our huge deck under a 150 year old oak tree overlooking the town of Cloverdale and the Alexander Valley. Use the barbecue. The hot tub has awesome jets and always hot. It is on our larger deck (not your private one) but only about 20 steps from the Little House. Cloverdale is the northernmost town in Sonoma County. Definitely not the chic of Healdsburg but authentically Sonoma County, friendly and usually quiet. The restaurants are varied and traditional but fun. A couple of new hot ones have opened recently. Suggestions are in the Little House. Healdsburg shops and restaurants are an 18 minute drive by freeway or 20-30 through the Alexander Valley vineyards. Ask us about our favorite restaurants, bars and shops in Healdsburg and wineries in all the Valleys. Geyserville, with Diavolo (a great modern Italian restaurant) and Catellis (more traditional but Todd and Susan's go-to spot for dinners in the bar) and half a dozen tasting rooms is a 10 minute drive and more fun than a day in Napa. Both have great outdoor patios in the back. The Russian River is five minutes for walking and swimming and Lake Sonoma (boating) is 15 minutes. Or, after tasting as much wine as you can handle, take a day to drive through the Redwoods to the spectacular Sonoma coast (1 1/4 hour). We leave tasting maps, a list of our favorite restaurants, wineries and other spots. Dogs are welcome in the fenced yard and house, as are smokers if you promise to smoke outside.
We are just outside the town of Cloverdale, in a semi-rural location. Walking distance to town (down a hill). A car is necessary, although taxi service is available. While not in the vineyards, convenient to dozens of wineries and away from the craziness
  • We were San Franciscans looking for an affordable weekend escape and this place was the perfect place to do so. The cottage is clean and cozy. The small, private deck was incredible to wake up to and enjoy a cup of tea in the morning. We didn't meet the hosts, but they were very responsive and it was nice to have our privacy.Oh and do yourself a favor and go to Savvy on First for breakfast. WOW! wonderful! Thank you and we will definitely be back!!

    Jennifer2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! The cottage had everything needed and the view was just stunning. Todd was a great host. He brought me milk to go with my coffee once I mentioned that was an important part of my morning, and this in addition to available wine, beer, and snacks. I'd love to come back for longer.

    sarah2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Little House on the Hill! Very cozy and clean, a great stop before heading up to Mendocino. Highly recommended!

    Stephanie2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The main deck overlooking Sonoma Valley has incredible views. They are very dog friendly and let well-behaved dogs have run of their ample fenced yard. The bed was comfortable, and the interior space was limited but fine for stop overs between wine tasting and a comfortable, romantic evening together. (Visitors much over 6' may have trouble with low ceilings.) This is a quiet unassuming community, centrally located for tasting in Sonoma (many tasting areas within 20-30 min), Mendocino (about 45 min), and even Napa (1 hr). Please be aware that there is a toaster oven and a range but not a full stove in the kitchen and plan accordingly. You may want to bring your own supplies as local grocery shopping is limited. The Cheese Shop in Healdsburg, recommended by Susan and her husband, exceeds all expectations. They will have an excellent cheese to recommend to accompany any wines you purchase. For eating out, Diavola, also a recommendation from the hosts, is exceptional, not your average pizza place, although they'll do a pizza for you if that's what you want, very creative mix of local and Italian cuisine and a nice wine list by glass, 1/2 liter, and bottle- highly recommended during your stay here.

    Beth2013-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Little House on the Hill was perfect for us. Susan's husband Todd greeted us and gave us a quick orientation & tour. It's a bit small/cozy, but perfect for two and it seems pretty well equipped with lots of little thoughtful touches (e.g. there were a few snacks and drinks in the fridge for us -- nice after a long drive.) The internet worked well. The bed was a bit softer than we're used to, but perfectly adequate. We enjoyed sitting on the small deck off the kitchen with a view of the surrounding hillside and part of the valley below in the morning. This place, while nothing really fancy, is a good value given the size and overall state of repair. The host couple seems very nice and thoughtful and easy going about how they set up and run their "Little House on the Hill" rental. We would certainly consider returning if in the area again.

    Adrian2014-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The view was awesome, the beds were super comfy, the hospitality was fantastic. It was a lovely weekend.

    Carole2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place is adorable, dog friendly and a great value for the area. I'd definitely stay again.

    Aimee2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great, cozy spot to stay and relax. Everything I needed at a great price in a great location. The view from the private deck was great too!

  • Staying at the Pendleton winery was a lovely way to spend a weekend in wine country. We spent our first day exploring Sonoma and the next day exploring Napa. Our room had plenty of space for the two of us, and we enjoyed having morning coffee and Jeannine's amazing breakfasts on the back patio. The hot tub was a great way to wind down from all the wine tasting at the end of both days. We felt truly comfortable here and would return in a heartbeat!

  • Wow ~ What a truly wonderful experience to stay with Jeannine and Mike! I was there to celebrate a milestone birthday with my boyfriend and they helped to make it special and memorable as I crossed over the threshold into this new decade. Their home and grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed a private wine tasting experience our first evening there which was super informative and fun. Mike's wine was the best we tasted in the area! The morning hot tub soaks, yummy breakfasts, and great conversations rounded out our stay. I highly recommend a stay here if you are in the area. It's was a great space for us as a couple, but I can also see myself returning with a group of girlfriends. Folks like Jeannine and Mike are what make Air BnB stays so unique and enjoyable! Thank You both!!!

  • Jeanine and her family were great hosts! My boyfriend and I requested, fairly last minute, to stay in their gorgeous home set atop Pendleton Vines and were graciously accepted. Upon arrival, we were warmly met with a glass of house wine (Pendleton's Cats Meow), and given a tour of the house/ room we were staying in. The room itself was perfect for 2 people, equipped with a comfortable queen bed and bed. In the morning, we sat atop the vines, drinking coffee in Adirondack chairs, and enjoying chocolate/ almond croissants. Clearly, we both enjoyed our experience with Jeannine, her husband Mike, and sweet daughter Leslie. If you are in the area, or want to enjoy some great Pendleton wines, I would highly recommend staying here!

    Maureen2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jeannine hosted our girls trip of 8. We had a fantastic time! She prepared fabulous breakfast daily, grilled dinner one night and we even got to watch the harvest and processing. Highly recommend! The property is secluded and provides gorgeous views.

    Allison2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Before even arriving, Jeannine made us feel special. The first night, we tasted their wines which are excellent (we bought 5 bottles) had bread, cheese. She even took our credit card to get the takeout that we and they ordered so we could all eat together. My wife and I had a wonderful time. We had as much time alone as we needed and still felt as if we were part of her family. Mike and their lovely, most polite daughter Leslie. Their recommendations were right on. I know because I matched them up with Yelp. The restaurants and the wineries they recommended was right on with our preferences. I can't wait to spend more time with the Pendletons. P.S. The room was beautiful, quiet, comfortable, spacious with awesome views. I really couldn't of been happier. Thank you Jeannine for even exceeding my already high expectations.

    Jeff2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jeannine and Mike made us feel welcome from the moment we entered their home. Our goal was to have a relaxing time in the wine country and we got so much more! Gourmet breakfast daily, complete with pool side morning coffee to recommendations for wine tasting. Imagine waking up to beautiful vineyards and rolling hills as your view.

    Brian2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeannine and Michael were amazing hosts! We had a great time in this peaceful home with beautiful views of the vineyard & the mountains. Loved the wine tasting conversation & the breakfast as well! Would love to come back sometime!

    Lili2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent excellent service, outstanding place to stay, beautiful scenery! I'll stay again whenever I'm close by! Jeannine, Mike and Jackson make you feel like family!

Get away from the stress and hassle of the City. Enjoy great views of Alexander Valley wine country while relaxing under a down comforter in bed, soaking in the claw foot tub, or sipping a glass of wine from the deck. The cabin is 5 minutes from Cloverdale, 10 minutes from Geyserville, 15 minutes from Healdsburg. In summer, guests can enjoy our 25 yard infinity pool with views of the Alexander Valley. The pool is adjacent to the main house and is not for exclusive use of the cabin guests. Come and enjoy relaxed, high quality wineries in Anderson Valley, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley. We can hook you up with wineries and tasting rooms run by good friends who can provide you with a unique experience including Locals, Meeker, Mercury, and Trione. If you want to hike or run, there are great trails along the Russian River or around Lake Sonoma. The bike riding is legendary through Dry Creek Valley or up Sulphur Creek for the adventurous. Eating in Cloverdale is casual and fun at La Hacienda, Ruth McGowan's Brew Pub (excellent artisan beers), the Hamburger Ranch and Pick's (a class drive in with the best bacon cheeseburger in the county), and the Railroad Station (gastropub). Geyserville offers Diavola, with better pizza and Roman-style italian food than Delfina, without the hype and Catelli's -- family style Italian with a celebrity chef connection to Lady Gaga. And Healdsburg is a foodie paradise. Please note: This cabin is perfect for two adults. We do not allow pets. It is not a child-proof, child-friendly space so we do not allow children as guests. Larger groups? Ask about our additional capacity including a vintage airstream trailer and more. Please note that the pool is for the use of you, our guests, and not for additional guests or visitors.
  • This was an incredible experience. Tod and Peter are very gracious hosts, and their cabin is beautiful. They have obviously put a lot of time and care into this place. We sat on the deck, drank wine, enjoyed the weather, and had plenty of privacy. Tod was responsive when we had questions. The cabin is small, clean, unique, and quiet. Great location if you want to explore wine country, or just get lost on the surrounding roads. This is the kind of place that makes Airbnb so amazing. Thanks Tod!

    Ben2014-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Tod's lovely cabin for two nights. It is modern and tastefully decorated, very well-kept and clean. The outlook from the bath-tube overlooking Alexander Valley is the perfect start to anyone looking to relax and enjoy Cloverdale wine estates and surroundings.

    Wouter2015-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tod has a beautiful view of the entire valley out by the pool, which is also incredible. The cabin itself is cute and cozy with semi-alfresco bathing. As a host he gave us some great recommendations for places in the area! He also brought us a wonderful, delicious breakfast. Thanks Tod!

    Sierra2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really a lovely place and fantastic hosts. Thanks so much!

    Ryan2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The rustic luxury cabin is exactly that: a special place with incredible views, high thread count sheets, state of the art bathroom and the most comfortable bed ever. Sit on your private deck with a glass of wine or better yet, soak in the bathtub with the deck doors open to enjoy the vista before you. This bathroom deserves its own review. The waterfall shower head with fresh well water, the variety of soaps and shampoos, more thick towels than you could possibly use - it's all fantastic. Tod was really helpful and thoughtful, beginning with our communication before the trip. He made sure we had detailed directions, confirmed we got in safely, then left us to enjoy his gift of the best wine of our entire trip. We were left oranges and lemons from his own trees, great coffee, and half and half from a local dairy. The next day Tod was happy to give us a tour of his vineyard and gardens despite his busy schedule. Tod and Peter's gardens and nearly off the grid living were an inspiration. Highly recommend. Try not to go in the rainy months, because you've got to enjoy that deck.

    Sara2012-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tod's Airbnb was supremely amazing. The location is great with many activities in the immediate vicinity. The cabin itself was comfortable: a nice bed, a great deck for reading, a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us and a fabulous bathtub and shower that opened up to the entire valley and vineyards below, yet was somehow intimate and private.

    Phillip2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tod and Peter are fabulous hosts and went above and beyond to make our honeymoon extra special. Their rustic luxury cabin is indeed luxurious and looks just like it does in the photos. My husband and I had a fantastic time lounging by the pool, playing with their three adorable dogs, star gazing, and just exploring the area. Tod's restaurant recommendations were excellent - we definitely ate our way through our honeymoon. The cabin is also in a prime location for exploring Geyserville, Healdsburg, and the surrounding valleys. Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer!

    Molly2013-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely terrific experience — the guest house and property were gorgeous, and the views were stunning. Tod and Peter were the perfect hosts, gave lots of great recommendations for things to do in the area, and helped us have the perfect relaxing weekend.

  • This house was exceptional, the hilltop setting among the manzanita trees was glorious. The pool was very refreshing, the accommodations very comfortable, and the hosts most friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this house for relaxation and wine tasting, and hope to visit again soon.

  • We had a great time at the Rustic Ranch House. We stayed during an abnormally rainy weekend, which made the place even cozier. They supplied enough wood for us to have fires going for both nights. The kitchen was well equipped with essentials needed for us to make meals. We loved the big kitchen! One of our guests even got in the pool once the clouds broke. Beautiful views, definitely secluded. Susie and Cary take care of their home, and make it a nice experience.

    Kelly2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were very nice people. They answered all questions directly and honestly when we took possession.

  • Susie and Cary's place was great. The location was unbeatable for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. While it was raining most of the time up there the house felt cozy and warm. A unique home on an amazing piece of property.

  • We had an absolutely lovely weekend at Susie and Cary's home. The house was beautifully decorated, spotless, and so cozy. They seemed to have thought of every detail to make their guests feel at home. The views were stunning and pool refreshing. We would definitely rent the rustic ranch house again.

  • I had such a great experience staying here for my birthday weekend. Susie and Cary were very responsive with my questions and welcomed us when we arrived. The pictures do not do it justice. The house has such a nice ambiance and the surrounding landscape is breathtaking. It really is an oasis on top of the hill. I would recommend this ranch to anyone and will definitely be back!

  • Really a special place to stay. Susie and Cary have thoughtfully curated a wonderful retreat down to the smallest of details. We immediately felt comfortable and at home, while also on vacation! • We had a great stay with Steffan and Monica. Honestly it was like staying with friends. We stayed up late talking to Monica our first night. Steffan and Monica gave us great recommendations for picnic spots, local hikes, wineries to visit, and restaurants. They are both very friendly and fun to chat with. Their house is in a quiet neighborhood, about a 5 minute drive from downtown Cloverdale. There is a nice walking path close by with access to the hills above the valley. Monica's cookies, cakes, and muffins were delicious as well!

    Jeffrey2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Steffan is a friendly and respectful host. The space is roomy and comfortable, and the house is close to "downtown" Cloverdale. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the area or, like myself, is passing through for a night.

  • I had a great experience with Steffan and his wife as hosts. Steffan was a great and quick communicator in the days before my trip, and the room was super spacious, inviting, and comfortable. I'd definitely stay there again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Steffan and Monica. The large room is beautiful and feels very private, with a luxurious ensuite bathroom. Everything was perfectly clean and they gave us espresso, home-made muffins and great advice for surrounding area in the morning!

  • This was my first experience using AIRBNB and I couldn't be happier. My boyfriend and I needed a place to land for one night while we attended a private series of wine tastings and dinner. It was Passport weekend in the area and it was impossible to find a hotel room for less than two nights (we only needed one). Someone recommended we try AirBnB, so we did and found Steffan's place. It was perfect and our hosts were very organized and gracious and the room was clean and spacious and the bed was ubber comfortable. Thank you!

  • Steffen's place was bright and clean. He welcomed us with cookies and wine and gave great advice for our adventures. The room is spacious and the backyard was a wonderful spot for our morning coffee. Thanks!

  • My girlfriend and I picked this place for our first weekend away together. We chose it mostly based on the outdoor amenities (outdoor seating with views, hot tub, pool). Considering the flakiness from the owner prior to arriving I'm not super surprised how this all turned out. She sent multiple emails after booking, all with the 'same' but different variations of the same directions to drive there. I attempted to call and email a few weeks before our scheduled date to find out about bringing my girlfriend's dog and got no response. After finally getting a response via text the week prior to our trip, she said I must not have entered the correct email in the airbnb system (ummm, you already emailed me so how is that possible?) and then she sent more emails with AGAIN 'updated' directions (more of the same from before). As far as the place, unfortunately on arrival at 6pm on Friday night we showed up to a very different setting than was portrayed in the description and pictures posted. Only comparison pictures could really do justice to what we found. All of the 'seating areas' were overgrown with grasses and weeds. There was minimal seating, literally one tiny old wood bench and one beach like chair by the grill; one tall chair with tall grasses growing up through the seat over at the 'redwood bar' (which was falling apart itself and not even accessible due to the tall grass overgrowth) and some old short stools that were kinda tossed together in the weeds. If we had sat on the stools the grasses would have been poking us in the nose. We tried to go check out the pool area to see if that was (Website hidden by Airbnb) was worse. The area the pool chairs were in wasn't usable either, all the grasses were growing up through all the chairs again! In the owner's response email we were told they were waiting to do the weed whacking as to not disturb us (not sure how that makes sense since we had just arrived), and that there had been a storm that had damaged all of the chairs and outdoor areas (oh and didn't we know they had a '2700 tempurpedic bed' for pete's sake! ... we didn't pick this place for the bed! ). If this was the case, we should have been notified ahead of time that the place wouldn't be as described. I could give a few more examples about the place, but I think this pretty much sums up our poor experience. I wanted this to be a great weekend away with my girlfriend and we did have a great rest of the weekend, but we spent our ENTIRE Friday night scrambling to find another hotel last minute in the area which ended up costing me twice as much.

  • My friends and I loved staying at the Mountain House Inn! Holly was extremely communicative and accommodating, and the secluded, tranquil grounds were exactly the type of retreat my friends and I were looking for. It was also really great that dogs were allowed - my border collie had a fantastic time! We will definitely be back.

    Taylor2015-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's place was great. The views from the house , views from outside the house and the location are great. Easy to get to Philo, Mendocino, Boonvile and to 101.The kitchen has all the equipments. Hiking up the hill from Holly's house was great too. Holly & Eric are very social. Communicative and were very prompt in responding to my queries/emails.

  • Amazing private apartment with spectacular of the valley. The apartment was a beautiful remodeled barn with all your modern amenities and plenty of rural charm. We loved our stay. Wear sunscreen in the hottub =)

    Sean2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Holly and Eric are the warmest hosts. Their property is so beautiful! We greatly enjoyed living on their vineyard for the week. You can tell Holly takes great joy in her property. They are the coolest couple and we made fast friends with them. I can't recommend this place enough!

    Daniel and Joanna2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here with our children for a couple of days in late December. We were looking to get away from city, see some stars, and sample some of the lovely wines of the Anderson Valley. The Inn at Le Vin Winery is a great choice who is looking for a rustic retreat off the beaten path with idyllic views of the Yorkville Highlands. The Spa, with a sauna and hot tub, was a hit with the kids and a great way to spend a winter evening. We would definitely stay again.

    John2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at Le Vin Winery. Holly and Eric were friendly and the room had a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers on the dining table. There was water and a new container of half and half in the fridge and we did not need additional towels or any other items. Holly was quick to respond when we couldn't figure out how to get the DirectTV to turn on. The views were beautiful from the pool and it was incredibly quiet at night for sleeping. The photos online are very accurate.

    Kristina2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our family enjoyed recharging at Holly's place. I particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the early morning calm, watching the mist and drinking tea. The kids enjoyed the pool and thought the bed on the floor with all the pillows was the funnest thing ever. Our hosts took great care of us, even going beyond to help out when we had car trouble. The place has an authentic, funky, NorCal wine country charm, and we plan to come back.

  • As others have noted, this is two small beds, which was perfect for me as a solo traveler. I didn't expect much, but the accommodations were tidy, comfy, and zonked out and slept like a log. Everything I needed--WiFi, a small bathroom (there's a pocket door there, fyi) and they even were so thoughtful as to leave some juice and muffins in the fridge. The location is quiet (seriously, though, I was out like a light) but only a few blocks from eateries, and the highway. Perfect stop off before launching an adventure further up the highway and towards the coast.

    Jeffrey2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location in a lovely neighborhood. The space was very private, quiet, and thoughtfully-equipped with anything you might need--snacks, cutlery, toiletries, A/C, etc. We were in town for a wedding and appreciated having access to the iron and plenty of places to hang clothes. A comfortable stay!

    Catherine2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nash and Audrey are great hosts. They were exceptionally sensitive to what my needs might be during the wine country fires which occurred not too far away during my stay.

    Ben2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nash&Audrey's place is very clean cozy and warm. Bed is very comfortable and the wine definitely put us into sleep we was a little lost at night time. It's not that the place was hard to find, because our phone data was slow in that area and it was 9 o'clock at night. but Audrey went out and found us while we were doing doughnuts in the neighborhood . They are very thoughtful kind and generous. Cloverdale is a very lovely quiet town, we would definitely come back again.

    Iris2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend staying at Nash & Audrey's place. Their hospitality was outstanding. Gave us a feeling of home away from home.

    Carol2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful , well appointed outhouse with its own door, single bed, sofa bed , kitchen area complete with fridge, microwave and mod cons. There's a neat little bathroom-no door to be able to accommodate it well in the space. Very friendly hosts. Use the insect screen door at night as there are mozzies, and Nash will put on the lights outside to guide you to the right home. It's in a quiet residential area. There's a parking area just outside the front door for added convenience. Excellent for a single or couple. I would stay again and suggest it to others. They bought English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey as I'm a Brit! Muffins too for breakfast.

    Anne2017-04-30T00:00:00Z

This home has a light open floor plan with the kitchen & family room form a great room -- a wonderful place to gather and socialize. If you have the time to visit and would like a homemade breakfast, let me know in advance if you would like to have breakfast together. Coffee, tea and water are always available. Cloverdale is set away enough to be a quaint country town, but close to fantastic wine tasting in Sonoma County, excursions to the ocean, lakes, & the River Rock Casino.
This is a 4 bedroom home -- master suite and bath are occupied by the owner, who lives in the home. 3 bedrooms are available for AirBnB guests. 2 rooms each with a queen size bed, 1 room with a full size bed. The AirBnB rooms share one bathroom. Unless more than one room is booked because people know each other, I will not book the other rooms while the first guest is an occupant. The expectation is that each room is occupied with two people, prior to occupying another room, thus 2 people in each room. IF you wanted less people per room, we may make an alteration in advance; however, this will be an additional fee ($30) per night per extra bedroom. In this way, the guest may choose to have a private room and private bathroom, or wish to share the bathroom with people that they know and are choosing to have them book the other rooms. The concept is family and/or friends may want to all stay together on one place, and are willing to share a bathroom to do so. Currently, one queen size bedroom has a TV, so occupant(s) may watch their Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon comfortably in their room. Otherwise, the family room TV is available for use. White wrap around-tie spa-like bathrobes are provided to guests for their use during their stay.
I moved to Cloverdale as it is a small slice of Heaven. I love being in this quaint valley surrounded by green mountains. We have a lovely park at the end of my street. The Cloverdale Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California is headquartered here. The population was 8,618 at the 2010 census. Cloverdale is located in the northern portion of Sonoma County, and is about 85 miles (135 km) north of San Francisco.

  • Laura was such a wonderful and welcoming host. I was looking forward to a girls weekend with my friend, and she made us feel completely at home. Laura even offered to drop us to downtown and pick us up so we wouldn’t have to look for parking during their Friday night festival (and baked us fresh banana zucchini bread!). Even her dog and cat kept to themselves and never made us feel out of place. The house is quiet, in a great location, and very homely. We had a great experience staying there, and would definitely return again.

  • My stay at Laura’s place could not have been better! Not only is it in a great location, but her home is open and inviting and super clean...everything you hope for in an Airbnb experience. Laura and her pets are sweet and charming, making you feel like part of the family. We had a fun dinner out and lively conversations. You can’t go wrong in choosing Laura’s place! I will definitely be back!

  • We had a short but wonderful stay at Michael's house! It's a very comfortable little suite in a great location right on the main street in downtown Cloverdale. I especially liked the ability to cook simple meals using the kitchenette and appreciated the fridge full of little goodies! While Mike wasn't able to host us himself, he was quick and enthusiastic to communicate or respond to questions. His stand-in hosts were very accommodating, respectful and fun to talk to. We hope to return again!

  • The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Lori2012-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay here. Most of the time was spent on the porch watching people walk by. Was fun to prepare breakfast in the well stocked kitchen, loved the farm fresh eggs! Bed was very comfortable and host was pleasant!

    Heather2012-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was a great and thoughtful host, and the place was wonderful. He was very accommodating about arrival time, was willing to have dogs, and had snacks and drinks laid out all over the house for us. Even details like a spare toothbrush and a picnic wine tote (complete with bottle of wine) were waiting. It's also right on the main drag of Cloverdale, two doors down from some of the best coffee ever (at The Plank). My only issue was that something triggered my allergies overnight, and I woke up with an itchy face and red eyes, but it's hard to avoid that.

    Arshad2012-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful historic home has the feel of a cozy bed and breakfast. Our rooms, the kitchenette, and the bathroom were very clean. Mike offered us plenty of advice and amenities to make our stay comfortable and relaxing- from maps and travel tips to access to the beautiful front porch. Mike was an excellent host and we would travel to Cloverdale again!

    Melina2012-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great weekend in Cloverdale. Sweet house and great Host near center of town. Friday nights they close off center for live music and farmers market. After a couple hours of the crowds we perched in the front yard to watch the Cloverdalians pass by. Took the dogs to Lake Sonoma and the Russian River. Great new coffee bar half block away. Yogurt across the street for the kids...and me.

    Brad2012-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was a gracious host. His place was clean and centrally located on the main Cloverdale strip. It was very nice of him to include cold beverages and snacks in the fridge as well as some local wine. It's a great place to stay if you're taking a trip out to Somona county or the Russian River.

    Leya2012-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • New to the Airbnb listing, it was a pleasure to "stumble" across Mike's charming victorian home in downtown Cloverdale. The town of Cloverdale is at the crossroads of new world amenities and old world charm. It gave us access to the nearby coast mountains, endless places to explore as we headed to the stunning Northern California coast, along with a variety of lower key appelations as we hoped to avoid the bustle of Napa and Sonoma wine country (still in close striking range). Mike's place, accented with antiques, made for the perfect getaway at a great cost. HIs desire to make our experience memorable, added the exclamation mark to a fun weekend.

  • My family of 4 and I loved our stay at Olive Grove Retreat. The house is simply chic and comfortable. My daughters loved the goats and spending time at the river. We enjoyed our dining experience in downtown Cloverdale, which is a very short drive from the property. My husband and I loved the scenic drive on Hwy 128 out to the Mendocino Coast. We stopped at Navarro Winery for a tasting per Josh's suggestion. Josh made us feel welcomed with personal touches (you'll have to stay to see what I mean). We will definitely return during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoor experience that is all around you at Olive Grove Retreat.

  • We have been to this area quite a few times. The Ranch House rates as one of the best. Would come again for sure!

    Michael2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Ranch House is even more beautiful in person and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Sonoma County. We chose the location based on the swim and bike start for the Ironman 70.3 race and it was an easy 15 minute drive versus 30 to 40 minutes from Santa Rosa. The house was clean with plenty of towels, blankets and very comfortable beds. We were a total of 7 people (2 in each room and 1 on the sofa bed) and didn't feel crowded at all. Amy and Andrea were easy to communicate with and made our stay very enjoyable!

    Lindsay2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures of the house don't do justice for how Beautiful it is. Amy and Andrea defiantly make it so you feel at home with all the amenities you need. Great location. Would recommend to anyone a 100%

Starling's Rest is located on a hillside overlooking the northern Alexander Valley area. In the summer, the bridge over the Russian River is open in Asti, making the drive from Healdsburg/Geyserville only 15 minutes. Nearby is the Russian River, wineries, restaurants, Lake Sonoma, Anderson Valley (originally famous for their apples, but now it's award winning Pinot Noir! Dont miss Gowan's apple cider). Our guests drive through a stone gate and just a few hundred feet up the hillside to Starling's Rest. A large front deck accents the front of the home and offers sunset view of the west. Enter into the large great room, featuring living area with tv, dvd. The new gourmet kitchen, remodeled in 2013, offers a delight to any wine country getaway where food and wine pairings are a part of the journey! Two ovens, granite counters, island and other amenities offer plenty of room for groceries as well. The dining area is open and to the right of the kitchen, roomy for 8-10 guests (air mattress for 9th and 10th guest). Next is the family room with large stone fireplace, and sofas and chairs -- another great spot to gather around the fire, just off the kitchen. In the back of the house are beautifully landscaped grounds with large lawn area, in ground pool, deck and hot tub. In the late fall and winter months, thousands of starlings swirl and rest in the trees above. Deer, quail and rabbits also live near and visit the hillside. An in ground solar heated pool and seven person hot tub, along with quality outdoor furniture are provided. The vineyard views at the front of the home are best enjoyed in the morning, due to the west facing location, perfect for coffee, juice or continental breakfast. The stars are amazing here. Starling's Rest is in a pocket of little or no light pollution. The property owner provides you with a telescope for star gazing. • Great weekend at Starling's rest. The house is as described and pictured. The views and kitchen even better! We also appreciated the series of books, movies and board games that were available for use. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

  • This was our second time staying in this house and it was amazing yet again. The openness of the indoor space is great for cooking and hanging with our group. And the outdoor area is top notch with the large lush yard, pool and hot tub. We had a blast and can't wait to come back!

  • The house was perfect for our Father's Day getaway. Everything from the well appointed kitchen to the sound system met all of our needs. The pool is awesome, the scenery is beautiful and we loved having so many options for dining (we chose the front view almost every time) and so many great spaces for hanging out. It was easy to book and the hosts were very accommodating. Hopefully we'll be back again soon!

    Kali2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Starling's Rest is an absolute gem! The house itself was immaculate and exactly as described. The master bedroom is HUGE and the kitchen island is a chefs dream come true. Our group spent 90% of the weekend out by the pool which was a great size, clean, and the water was perfect. The only downside to the house were the flies. I'm not sure if it was just the time of year but they were rampant and since there are no screens on the doors leading out to the backyard, they kept coming in whenever we went in and out. Overall, our group loved this house and would absolutely stay here again.

This wine country home is a simple, roomy and perfectly equipped California mid-century ranch style house, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a spectacular view from the huge deck.
The master bedroom has a Cal King bed, en-suite bathroom and Apple TV. Each of the other bedrooms are set up as offices and have tempur-pedic sofa beds – one a queen and the other a full. They can easily be left open to convert the offices into bedrooms. They share the second bathroom. One bedroom has a flat screen TV with premium cable. There is also a TV with limited cable in the kitchen. The deck features a 150-year-old oak tree with outdoor dining, grill, barbecue, hammock and hot tub and view. There is off street parking for 3 cars very comfortably. No garage, but storage sheds are on premise. A dog is welcome in the fenced yard, as are smokers if you promise to smoke outside. Absolutely no cats allowed – even outdoor cats. Cloverdale is the northernmost town in Sonoma County at the end of the Alexander Valley and one of the few that retains its “pre-wine” feel. A few interesting restaurants, shops, galleries, a fine little movie house, a superior coffee spot and an organic deli/grocery have popped up recently. Cloverdale is 10 minutes to Geyserville, 10 to Dry Creek Valley, 15-20 minutes to Healdsburg and Hopland and 35 to the Anderson Valley. Our location is a bit removed from it all, but walking distance to town (5 minutes down a fairly steep hill). The Russian River is 5 minutes, Lake Sonoma (boating and hiking) 15 minutes and the Sonoma Coast a 1-hr drive through the Redwoods. Dozens (hundreds?) of wineries are within short drives. It is about 85 miles or 1½ hours to San Francisco, depending on traffic. Included is The Little House - a cottage near the main house, the Little House is a large studio space with a separate kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, a sitting/dining area with TV set up for movies and Apple TV and its own deck with the same great view. It can easily double as a home office or guest room, if more space is needed than in the main house.

This is an incredible escape for couples and friends getaways! A new studio unit, with new appliances and high end kitchenware. There are full black out window shades for privacy and sound sleeping. New and very efficient air conditioning and heating. Great Wi-Fi, Luxury Sheets, Down Pillows and Duvet, and top of the line mattress. Luxury Bath Towels and bathroom amenities. We are happy to share whatever bounty is in season from our large garden, citrus and fruit trees. When you arrive you will find some coffee roasted at our local awesome coffee shop "Plank", organic creamer and milk, and farm fresh eggs from our very own chickens (in season). Our fresh spring water here is better than any you can buy in the store. We sterilize and refill the water bottles made for you in the refrigerator for every stay, so that you can enjoy it cold, and also please enjoy the water from the tap. You can enjoy sitting out on the deck and gazing at all the stars at night....and sipping your morning coffee while taking in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
The neighborhood is all large acreage parcels so you cannot see another home from our property. There is a summer bridge that is open from June - November and shortens your drive to Healdsburg, to about 10 minutes. There are a few great restaurants in Geyserville including Diavola, Catellis, and Rustic at Francis Ford Coppola, all about 10-15 minutes from our property.
  • My husband I cannot say enough good things about how excellent our stay was. The property is a treat in itself. It's quiet, beautiful dark sky at night. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but we were close to everything we needed in Sonoma. The individual special touches in this BNB were never ending. Every detail was attended to in a first class way. There was a bottle of wine, fresh jam, fresh bread and fresh laid eggs waiting for us. Tess wanted to assure that we had every single thing we could possibly need. We will stay here again on our next trip to Sonoma.

  • Tess and Bob call this ‘your Alexander Valley Getaway’— it’s more like their permanent getaway they graciously share with fortunate Airbnb intrepids like us. The Getaway is near Cloverdale, CA in the low foothills. Marvelous wine country views shine in from every direction. We arrived and prepped a from-scratch Italian dinner, making ample use of tomatoes and basil generously offered from the garden. The Getaway has a compact, highly-serviceable kitchen surrounded by a cozy sitting room to drink in both the views and the vino. Fresh farm eggs (Getaway chickens), dairy, local bread (Costeaux Bakery) and coffee (Plank) were at-the-ready when we arrived, making breakfast a delight as well. Be sure to run down to Geyserville to grab a few bottles of wine from Ramazzotti’s Winery (all original Italian peeps and stellar wines) then haul them over to either Diavola’s or Catellis’ restaurants. All these places are with 150’ of each other with no corkage fee since all local. Geyserville is a charming, micro town that is void of the Napa/Sonoma uppity_syndrome. The stores and restaurants still welcome visitors with open arms and glasses. You’ll learn everything you want to know about the local viticulture by spending time with Joe Ramazzotti, he’s an accomplished winemaker and vineyard manager, plus a hellava nice guy. Be sure to bring the wine and leftovers back to the Getaway to enjoy later. The Getaway’s architecture and appointments, coupled with Tess’ great sense of design and attention to detail will draw you back time after time. Bob and Tess are wonderful hosts, they’re both hi-energy, authentic people still transforming the property into an amazing experience. The place rocks! Ok, your turn since we already have our next stays booked! Thanks Bob and Tess for sharing your lovely home with us, see you again soon! Nick and Lisa

  • We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Tess and Bob's little slice of heaven. The land itself is beautiful and you can tell it's taken care of with much love. This is the place for you if you like a peaceful getaway and want to explore the wine country (many vineyards right around there) It was a bonus to have the friendly goats and horses on the property to feed and pet. I would look forward to them every morning! The house itself was a great set up...very clean and airy. The hosts were very hospitable and welcoming. Tess was very good with responding to any questions we had. I'm so glad we came across this gem; we highly recommend it. Thank you again for having us!! Brittany and Joe

  • WOW. The place is even better than you'd expect by the photos (which are amazing). Impeccably clean, modern and with every extra amenity you could ever imagine! Fabulous bed, amazing linens and fluffy towels, beautiful bathroom, great view from the porch deck, adorable kitchen with everything you need. Just cannot say enough. Super professional hosts; you won't need a thing. Honestly, just book this place.

  • This studio apartment is incredible! Between Tess's hospitality and the heavenly views out the front door, you won't want to leave. If you're looking for a perfect couples weekend in wine country then you've found the place to stay. The apartment is gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. The property is so stunning it makes it impossible not to relax. And the hosts are extremely friendly, helpful, and available, yet you will have complete privacy as well. Two thumbs up, I highly recommend it!!

  • My wife and I loved staying here! It's new, clean and spacious. Tess has thought of everything! The kitchen was so well appointed that we felt right at home and made a great spaghetti dinner one eve--enjoying one of the bottles of wine we had purchased that day. Location was fabulous for making it your base for a weekend (or longer) while visiting all the local vineyards and restaurants in Healdsburg or Geyserville. We'll be back.

  • Location is perfect. Quiet place with an amazing view.

    Marko2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Too much money for very little amenities. No A/C in unbearable heat isn't worth it. Broken cheap blinds that pour in light and heat, leaky sink (towels on the floor), upstairs toilet has zero water pressure, no comfortable seating in the living area, and outdoor lights that need replacing during dark nights. Save you money. Don't let the pictures of the pool fool you.

This guest home has a million dollar view! The sun sets over the vineyards with the mountains in the background. I highly recommend staying here. And I loved the 2012 Merlot from Adams Vineyard."

  • This house was an amazing surprise on our trip to Cloverdale. A group of three of us went to Cloverdale to spend the weekend bike riding and relaxing. Brett was an amazing host, and we enjoyed wine in their wine room late Friday evening. The house was cozy with an amazing view of Alexander Valley. I will recommend this house to friends and can not wait to come back.

  • Cute little guest house in a great location. It's basic, but clean, private and well-appointed. Brett is super friendly and helpful, even leaving us a bottle of the wine they make on the property! Note: the full sized bed is perfect for cozy couples, but if you're used to a king like me, it was uncomfortable.

  • We absolutely loved our stay in Cloverdale with Brett and family. They were incredibly accommodating and even shared some of their homemade wine. The unit itself was very clean and the property has some amazing views of Alexander Valley. My place is close to wineries, restaurants, parks, the river and outdoor activities. You’ll love my cottage because of the views, the location, the ambiance, and fresh veggies from the garden . We welcome couples, families, and furry friends (pets welcome.) The cottage interior was designed by interior decorator and design blogger, Delores Arabian, who is currently managing my place since I am the sous chef at the Trading Post Restaurant in Cloverdale. Stop by for dinner and say hi!
My cottage is a separate guest house with a gourmet kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and a spa-like bathroom.
Cloverdale is growing with new restaurants and boutiques. Located in the upper Alexander Valley, which is home to world class vineyards and wineries, Cloverdale is "where the vineyards meet the redwoods!" The Cloverdale Trading Post ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) is my favorite restaurant in town, possibly because that's where I make my artisan breads! Come by and grab a loaf!
  • Aaron's place was perfect for a weekend getaway - it had everything we needed, was comfortably furnished and decorated, and super cute! It had a great view of the vineyard and I would definitely stay again.

  • Great accommodations. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch with the fantastic views. The house is updated and clean. Just one note - there is no AC which was hard to handle in 100+ F weather. We had to be out of the house most of the day. It cooled down late at night.

    Anna Viktoria2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully and thoughtfully appointed wine country escape. Aaron is a wonderful host. Premises were exceptionally clean and charming. Highly recommend.

    Jill2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for quiet, comfortable place to relax with our dog, and this place delivered. The cottage is one half of what is essentially a duplex with a very quiet Aaron living in the other unit. A bottle of white wine and big jug of bottled water awaited us on arrival. Most of our time was spent on the deck which provided a wonderful view of the valley below. The cottage is decorated beautifully and fairly well appointed. Aaron's parents live a little further up the hill and were very responsive to a couple of requests for items we needed. The main drawback for us was that we couldn't really walk/exercise our dog adequately in the immediate vicinity of the house; pretty much up and down the driveway was it, since the road below had no shoulder/sidewalk. Cloverdale is a short 5-10 minute drive and is charming with a real small town feel. Healdsburg is 30 minutes south and very upscale. We recommend visiting both. Tons of wineries around that we didn't visit since we're not wine drinkers. In short, we'd stay here again for a relaxing getaway (without our dog) and would likely bring friends to help mitigate the expense. Thanks to Aaron and family for taking good care of us.

    Scott2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 3 (and one dog) had a great stay. Beautiful guest quarters, extremely quiet location and yet easy to access everything in the greater Sonoma area.

    Ryan2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This home is lovely decorated with beautiful views of the vineyard down the hill. The outdoor patio table was a plus. We spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the view. Aaron’s home is comfortable with plenty of towels, blankets, and anything you would need. My party of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. We would highly recommend Aaron’s home, and would definitely visit again, should we ever be in the cloverdale area again.

    Molly2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Aaron is a great host! He has a lovely place, in the midst of the vineyards. It has a patio with a view that is amazing! It's a short and lovely drive to the town of Cloverdale, and 25 mins to Healdsburg. The house is very comfortable...the only draw back is that there is no air conditioning. And you have to make due with overhead fans. That's fine when it's 90 degrees, but when it creeps to 100 degrees...that's tough.

  • Michael was an excellent host, generously welcoming us into his home in Napa. A great house with two large bedrooms and very comfortable beds. He provided snacks, water, and even wine for us to take at our leisure. While not in a separate house, the unit feels very independent and divided from the host's side. I strongly recommend this listing as a great base to explore Sonoma. One note, the bathroom upstairs is shared between the two units, so it helps if you are traveling with friends who don't mind an occasional intrusion. Pet friendly too.

Our family farm is located in the heart of Alexander Valley. We are a dog friendly property with a private trail that leads to the Russian river, and swimming holes. The recently remodled two bedroom guest house is good for groups of four, and kitchen is ready for cooking. We keep the guesthouse stocked with farm fresh eggs from our chickens and Peet's House Blend coffee. Dog bed and bowls are available. Guests are welcome to use our custom built barbecue.
We are located about 15 minutes from Healdsburg in the heart of Alexander Valley. Our farm is a short drive to some of the best wineries in California. Lake Sonoma is about 20 minutes away with numerous hiking trails, and a beautiful view of Alexander Valley.
  • If you're looking for a secluded getaway, this is the place.A lovely guest house which is well-stocked, including fresh eggs from their chickens. Giant oak trees, vineyards, birds singing, goats you can feed. Serene. It's about 15 minutes to either Cloverdale or Healdsburg. Wonderful restaurants in both those places, plus in Geyserville. It would be great as home base for wine area cycling. Keep in mind, you will be in the middle of vineyards, so there will be work going on -- sometimes in the middle of the night. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Also, no wifi but strong mobile phone signal.

  • Bill and Judy's place is super charming! We were only there for one night but found them very friendly and the guest house has everything you need for a nice and relaxing stay in Beautiful Sonoma county. Public transportation can be a BR challenging so just keep in mind but if you're looking for a quiet stay on a beautiful farm, this is it!

  • Very cute, comfortable, clean house in a rural/farm setting.

    Michael2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • They were kind and let my friends take my place when I had a last minute schedule conflict. My friends reported that the place was comfortable and they had fun feeding the goats. The place was quiet and comfortable and everyone (including my dog) had a great time there!

    Amy2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We drove down a beautiful vineyard road to our delightful 2 bedroom home. It was exceptionally quiet and clean, and we found a lovely bottle of petite sirah waiting for us, as well as 12 farm-fresh eggs in the refrigerator the refrigerator. They were almost too beautiful to crack, but crack they did during our breakfast the next morning in the well-appointed kitchen. We went on a nice hike to the Russian River and back, and our dog enjoyed some off-lead time by the river. The next morning we did another hike, and also got to feed the goats and llama at the farm. (Well, the llama mostly watched us but the goats are definitely not shy.) And despite its seeming isolation it is just minutes from Dry Creek Valley, the Alexander Valley, and Cloverdale, Geyserville and Healdsburg. Next time we will definitely stay longer!

  • John and Judy were great with communication, and they were such warm, considerate hosts. They greeted us with fresh eggs, tomatoes and grapes, which made us feel so special! (and they were delicious.) The house was clean, and spacious. Our dogs made themselves home immediately as well. We took the short, private trail to the river for a quick dip, which was a lot of fun for all of us, including our pups. It was all around a wonderful weekend-- a particularly special one when my dogs learned to swim for the first time. Thanks John, Judy and their beautiful dog Rocky for your hospitality!

  • Thanks so much Laurie and Hugh for opening your home to us and being such helpful guides. Your place is extremely beautiful and the attention to detail is just amazing. For example, I have a minor peeve about other airbnb's I have stayed in that they have nice kitchen knives that are blunt. Susan and I have said to one another, we should take a knife sharpener. Not needed in your house. We found absolutely everything we wanted and all in such good taste and quality. As for the gardens, stunning. So, it was a great pleasure to stay and to meet you. We do look forward to coming back and to recommending you to friends.

    Stephen2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's place is a gem! I was met by her personally and shown around, carefully showing me where everything was and what was there for me - including coffee, tea and fixings for a nice breakfast. They have thought of details that I hadn't, things are well labeled. The house is very special - beautiful workmanship - every detail is carefully attended to - tasteful decoration and it's comfortable and homey too. I was provided lovely linens and towels. Plenty of parking. Private setting, quiet and peaceful. I didn't use the outdoor space, but it was wonderful to have it there to see and I could imagine coming back for a nice dinner alfresco under the grape arbor. Five stars all around. A wonderful visit to the Alexander Valley. Highly recommended!

  • What a lovely place to stay and a lovely area to explore. Laurie and Hugh were wonderful hosts, they greeted us with a full tour of the home and gardens, and made sure we were comfortable. The house is welcoming, with charming decor and beautiful woodwork and cabinets. Outside the property is woodsy with naturalistic landscaping. There are several areas to sit and relax, even a beautiful pergola and barbecue. They seemed to have thought of everything we might need. We especially loved the kitchen so we decided to fix breakfast instead of going out. We will return again for sure.

  • What a wonderful stay at Heron Hill! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Laurie and Hugh had put a lot of thought and effort into making our stay both comfortable and memorable. The cottage is tucked away nicely on 1+ acres in the cute town of Cloverdale, a short distance from the wineries in Sonoma. Upon arrival, we were given a tour of the house and the yard, which are both meticulously maintained. Laurie was kind enough to bake some yummy bread and muffins to go along with the food and beverages (including a bottle of wine, of course) for our stay. As hosts, they’ve clearly planned very well as everything was nicely labeled and it was honestly easier to find many items there than it is to find them in my own home. We had the option of two bedrooms – both were excellent options. The bed was comfy and all the linens and towels new and spotless. We managed to spend some time in the yard, including a short nap on a great hammock in one of the areas of the yard. While Laurie and Hugh were staying on the property during our stay – we never saw or heard them during our visit, although it was nice to know they were close by if we needed anything. Given how well-planned out everything was, we never had to reach out to them for anything. Like I said, they had given a lot of thought into this and it translated into one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had.

    Paul2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything as advertised and more! The pictures actually did not do the house proper justice. Laurie and Hugh were fantastic hosts and were extremely responsive. The house was clean, well equipped, and well organized. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Heron Hill is the perfect place for comfortable and relaxing getaway in wine country. The home is spacious, comfortable, and impeccably designed and the gardens are idyllic. Laurie and Hugh have put a lot of time and energy into making sure that anything a guest could ever need is right at his/her fingertips; the house is very well appointed throughout. They also went above and beyond by looking into transportation options for us and were very friendly, welcoming hosts. We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend staying at Heron Hill!

    Abraham2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie and Hugh welcomed us warmly into their amazing wine country home. We found everything to be well-organized and loved the attention to detail on every little thing. The breakfast preparations and welcome basket was a special treat. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the wineries of Alexander or Dry Creek Valley.

    Stefan2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie & Hugh did everything and more to make my stay in Cloverdale easy and comfortable. I showed up late in the evening and they helped me get checked-in with a comprehensive walk-through of the house and property. There was fresh fruit, snacks, and food already waiting for me as well! The house is exactly as described and the property is expansive and beautiful. There are lots of birds and wildlife everywhere. If you're looking to get out of town to the Sonoma countryside, this is the place. Hugh & Laurie are also some of the nicest folks I've ever met.

Ravenridge is located at 1,425 feet elevation in the highlands eight miles west of Highway 101 in southern Mendocino County. As you wind along scenic Highway 128, city life fades away. You enter a private gate, follow a gravel road through vineyard and forest, and arrive. Moose cottage is nestled beneath an ancient live oak with dramatic hillside vistas that beckon westward to the Mendocino coast.
Please note the two cottages are pictured here and are in close proximity to each other albeit very private.
  • If you're looking for a piece of heaven and quite..this is it... The hosts were great..

  • Such a beautiful spot. Secluded and restful. We enjoyed a holiday weekend visiting wineries in Russian River and Anderson Valley, returning to this idyllic spot each evening to watch the sunset and then the moon rise. The cottage is entirely private from other lodgings on the property, well equipped for cooking, and beautifully decorated. Very clean!

    Brenda2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay at Moose Cottage. The house is located in a very nice and quiet area, surrounded by nature. Kevin was very attentive and responsive, making sure our arrival/check-in was as smooth as possible. I would really recommend this place.

  • Outstanding location between Anderson Valley and the Yorkville Highlands. Super base camp for exploring Redwood forests, Mendocino and the coastline, and several great wineries. If you're looking for the high pace of Napa this may not be for you, but if "off beaten path" is your style, Moose is the place for you. Accommodating hosts easy to access / warm & charming accommodations.

Charming upscale cottage on a private lane at the north end of Alexander Valley, 2 miles from Cloverdale. 1 bedroom with queen size bed, living room, large country breakfast nook and an office. **Reservation requests received Saturday may not be responded within 24 hours.
This upscale countryside retreat is serene, clean, well-equipped and includes air conditioning and heat. In the backyard you will have the pleasure of seeing and hearing lots of birds and chickens. We will be delighted to provide you fresh eggs (available upon request). Pets will be considered depending on their size, sociability and table manners. There is a lovely garden near the chickens with mature fig and citrus trees reminiscent of being in the French wine country. Minimum stay, 2 Nights.
  • The best of airbnb! We had a wonderfully relaxed weekend stay. The modern cottage was clean and comfortable. We slept very soundly both nights. The chickens added that country charm and provided delicious eggs for breakfast. During the day, they roamed the gated yard and were nice to watch. It felt as if we were in the countryside of France. I liked how the kitchen was stocked with everything one needed for cooking (pans, spices, dishes, ect. ). It was private, yet not too far away from some beautiful wineries that reside near the Alexander Valley. At dusk, we strolled down the lane admiring the late harvest grapes, still on the vine and witnessed the most spectacular full moon rising. It was picturesque and awe inspiring. The cottage does not have air conditioning, but we found it was not a deal breaker. It cooled down in the evening and with a fan was comfortable- even during one of the warmest months. The modern artistic furniture and decorations were tastefully executed. Personally meeting our guest, Alain-Martin, was a highlight, as he was very charming and attentive. I would recommend this oasis to others in search of a tranquil, low key getaway. If you want to relax, visit some wineries and recharge, this is the place for you.

  • The listing description was very accurate. The property doesn't show as well in the photos as it does in real life. It is a clean, quaint, stylish and relaxing cottage on a very quiet country lane. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive to all questions. He even gave us fresh eggs from his chickens who live on property, in the morning!

    Paula2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Chateau Poulet cottage was great! Quiet and assuming from the outside but very modern chic on the inside. Great job remodeling and decorating the space - similar to how a boutique hotel bungalow would be outfitted. From the large eat-in kitchen to vintage furnishings and spotless bathroom, it was everything I expected from the listing. The huge lemon tree and various chicken coops (fresh eggs!) out back were quite a sight too. I'd definitely stay again at the "chicken castle" the next time I head to wine country!

    Mark2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Alain's cottage was a perfect stay! The cottage was very nicely remodeled, extremely comfortable, clean, bright, in a beautiful setting. I must say those chickens have a great life in well kept coop. Happy delicious eggs! We met the caretaker and the neighbor who couldn't of been nicer. We brought our well behaved pup who had a nice fenced in gravel yard to roam around while we were away we felt he was safe and secure. He had a great time as well. Highly recommend this spot, it was perfect place to stay during our friend's wedding weekend. Tip:Mr. Taxi for a designated driver.

    Brent2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. It's nicely appointed and cared for. It was nice to walk from the cottage to the Russian River along the vineyards behind the property. On top of that, the fresh eggs Alain provided from his chickens were delicious. I was pleased to get to meet Alain briefly and can say he is a kind host. I would stay here again.

    Paul2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Alain-Martin's cottage is really lovely. It was obviously recently renovated and is situated in a rural yet accessible part of wine country. Aptly named Chateau Poulet, it's right near a private chicken coop with lots of little hens roaming around. It's perfect as a home-base while visiting the Sonoma Valley and I highly recommend it.

    Daniel2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend. The cottage was lovely, with terrific views, a very comfortable layout, nice, stylish furniture---and fresh delicious eggs from the chickens out back! A vey peaceful wine country getaway with easy access to great wine tasting, biking and terrific food. We'll be back!

    Marc2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a great countryside retreat! The cottage is upscale, nice and clean, better equipped than our San Francisco apartment and we will definitely be back. Alain was a perfect host and we loved our stay. A few things that I don't think appear in the listing or the photos: there is air conditioning which is great for the hot summer months; there are cute local markets near by and great restaurants in Cloverdale (we had only explored Healdsburg and Geyserville previously but Cloverdale is a great surprise); there is a lovely garden near the chickens with mature fig and citrus trees that truly reminded me of being in french wine country.

Located in southern Mendocino County, spectacularly situated with panoramic western views. Surrounded by expansive wild lands, we are also deeply connected to a community of wonderful neighbors who share a commitment to country life, the land and its inhabitants.
En route from Cloverdale to Boonville on Highway 128, at 1,425 feet elevation in the scenic Yorkville Highlands of Anderson Valley, Woodhaven cottage occupies the former art studio, workshop on the Ravenridge property. Shaded by an old live oak, the cottage looks out to the surrounding forest of Douglas Fir, Madrone, and Redwood. The westward vista from the wooden deck beckons to the Mendocino coast beyond. Abundant bird and wildlife include year-round residents and seasonal visitors. The spacious cottage has a high-pitched ceiling, skylights, and a wall of windows looking north. Soothing colors and contemporary furnishings create a relaxed yet sophisticated ambience. The wood-burning stove keeps the space cozy during chilly times of the year, with abundant seasoned Madrone from the property. The large studio space contains the sleeping, dining, and living areas, with an adjoining galley kitchen. The compact kitchen is well appointed, and with the outdoor charcoal grill, offers complete cooking options. Ideal for a couple, the cottage can also accommodate a family with young children. • View is to die for, the cottage perfect, looks just like the photos. Driveway is a bit steep and twisty in places... so arriving during daylight is a must. Fabulous location for those who want to explore the Mendocino County. Perfect for relaxing.

  • This was a great spot. I was in town for a wedding down the road. The place is a little difficult to find but the host gave exceptional directions which made it easy. I would love to come back for a nice relaxing weekend to get away. It was comfortable, spacious, and had exactly what we needed. One note, to no fault of the hosts, but there was EXTREME heat. The place was definitely warm. Please check the weather and if it will be warm, please remind the host to provide a fan. They graciously purchased one for us but our neighbors took it from our porch so we did not have one. It was record-breaking temperatures which was way out of the norm.

Come glamping in "Bessie the Bouncing Bullet" our vintage 1969 Airstream, nestled under the cool black oaks halfway between San Francisco and the Mendocino coast...
ABOUT OUR AIRSTREAM: Bessie is our 8' - 20' vintage airstream trailer, which we have lived in for several years. She contains a full sized double bed, en suite half bath, plus a sunny dinette which also transforms into a second bed as needed, or works as a comfortable private office space and breakfast nook. Bessie stays cozy all night long with a radiant space heater, and features a kitchenette with small refrigerator, double sink and electric tea kettle for making coffee and tea. She also contains a working propane stove with oven, although we encourage you to share our fully equipped communal kitchen for more serious cooking. A microwave oven and air conditioner can be provided if needed. Wifi is available all throughout the property. LOCATION: We are located about 1 hour and 45 minutes north of San Francisco, and just 1.5 hours drive from the Mendocino coast, right on the Sonoma-Mendocino county line. Many people driving along Highway 128 are already familiar with the property, with the large peace sign hanging from the oak trees and huge ceramic, steel and concrete sculpture as well as many "piles of potential" in the yard. Our 3 acre homestead features the 100+ year old Alder Glen schoolhouse, which has been turned into an eclectic artist studio and gallery. The studio contains a large shared kitchen and redwood decks, perfect for coffee and breakfast in the morning, as well as a cozy wood stove and living space for evening fireside hang-outs. ABOUT US: Living on the homestead are Jorin and Hannes, a 50-ish couple in the process of moving west, away from life in New York City, as well as sculptor and retired art professor Joe Hawley, who been living and creating art on the property for over 25 years. A link to more information on the artwork and a virtual tour of the property can be provided if you give us your email address. Jorin has a long history as a professional pastry and vegetarian retreat chef and is passionate about food and baking, so something warm and delicious will be served for breakfast every morning. Hannes is an Austrian jazz guitarist and composer who teaches music and makes great coffee. We look forward to welcoming you to our little place on the hill!
The property is about 8 miles west of the town of Cloverdale, going west on Highway 128 towards the Mendocino Coast. We are just off the highway, so there is a small, steady amount of car traffic on the 2 lane road, but otherwise we are surrounded by oak, fir, and bay laurel forest and savanna. This is the perfect place to stop over if you are planning an art or wine excursion through Sonoma or Mendocino counties, and we would be happy to give you plenty of tips on things to do and places to go!
  • I’ve never done a stay like this, but I would definitely do it again! Very cool little airstream, gorgeous grounds, completely unique art and California countryside experience. If you’re looking for something a little different, a little off the beaten path, this is for you. Hosts were gracious, generous, and there for everything we needed. Very comfortable bed, plenty of room for my wife and I, and we even squeezed in a pack and play for our baby (who slept like a dream!). We had lots of fun and a great time.
