Just booked in Devon

Set in an idyllic peaceful rural situation, with stunning views over the lovely Coly valley, behind the renowned Jurassic Coast. An ideal location for exploring the beautiful East Devon countryside and coastal paths. Or just relaxing in the garden
The Crows Nest is set in the grounds of Glebe House ,with its own parking ,surrounded by 15 acres of glorious Devon countryside .We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty with stunning views.
East Devon is a very unspoilt area of the West Country , close to the Dorset and Somerset border. There are lots of intersting places to visit depending on your interests. National trust houses and gardens. Fossil hunting/walking/riding/golf/Birdwatching Dartmoor/Exmoor a day trip away Exeter cathedral city andthe Exe estuary Lyme Regis and the wonderful Thomas Hardy couintryside
  • We were welcomed by a warmly lit chalet and the calm rural surroundings, including the neighbouring cows and pigmy goats. The location in the middle of the countryside is gorgeous and the chalet is lovely and cosy, with a comfortable living room/ kitchen space, as well as a winter garden with a dining table - making meals feel extra special. It is also close to Beer a lovely little coastal town, Emma recommended to visit for its coastal path with nice views. We felt very welcomed.

  • Fantastic cottage in the grounds of a lovely secluded house with use of tennis court and pool. Lovely outside sunny spaces, well equipped interior with lots of basics (salt etc) supplied. Brilliant welcome including home made bread and delightful hosts who were on hand if needed.

    Gerry2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • An idyllic Devon setting! The hillside location was very secluded, but with relatively easy access to the seaside and town. The use of the pool was an added big bonus! The hosts were very welcoming. Thank you!

    Nicola2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the heated outdoor swimming pool and the tennis court has an amazing view. There was no problem using them whenever we wanted. There are goats to watch from the conservatory and friendly dogs wandering around the grounds. We also had massages with Sally which I would recommend. It's a really lovely place to get away and easy distance from the seaside and lots of fun things to do - coastal walks, donkey sanctuary, beach and Seaton-Colyton tram. Emma and Chuck are lovely and made us feel really welcome. They left homemade bread and croissants in the fridge for us. The kitchen also had lots of useful things like tea, coffee, spices, jam and butter. We'd love to come back and were really sad when we had to leave.

    Francesca2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time staying at the crows nest. A perfect break in the countryside. We were able to go the coast during the day, swim in the heated pool in the afternoon and bbq in the evening. I miss it already.

  • We had a very enjoyable experience at Glebe House. We were welcomed by the hosts, shown everything we may need to use during the stay, and they were also very accommodating, in regards to personal requests. We were left to enjoy the surroundings, and our stay. The place was very clean, and the house was situated in a beautiful location. Thank you!

    Zahid2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place very quiet clean and confortable. RECOMMENDED

    Giovanni2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely property, in a beautiful secluded peaceful position- we enjoyed watching the goats from the conservatory, and cows from the bedroom windows! Emma and Chuck are very friendly hosts, and their house and gardens have wonderful views. We particularly enjoyed exploring the collection of old books on the shelves in the cottage - there are also maps, leaflets, and local walk books. We were lucky to have some sun which enabled us to use the chairs on the decking, and appreciated the eggs , milk , butter and breakfast croissants in the fridge on arrival.

You’ll love my home because of the location (for Devon, Dorset & Somerset exploring) and the cosiness. Ideal for couples and business travellers. Please note shared bathroom (bath only) & I'll always have some continental breakfast bits available.
  • Fantastic room in the centre of Colyton. Lucinda was a great host. She provided us with breakfast and drinks and made us feel very welcome. I't didn't feel like we were renting a room in a house, it felt like we had the whole house to ourselves. Great location from Axminster train station, £18 in a taxi.

    Katy2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Central for so many beach and countryside visits. A very cosy and clean house and Lucinda was very welcoming and friendly.

    Veronica 2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a bit o trouble with my sat nav, Lucinda was v helpful when I needed her for directions, had everything I wanted upon arrival, and will certainly return.

    paul2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication prior to arrival and during the stay. Lucinda is super friendly and will make you feel right at home. The room is lovely and the bed is very comfortable, which is exactly what you need for a good night rest. Highly recommended

    Eros2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely staying at Lucinda's place! She made us very welcome and was really hospitable. I would definitely recommend her place to others.

    Dagny2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lucinda was very prompt with commuications and I was extremely grateful for her picking me up at Seaton Tesco and Colyton is a few miles inland, and no public transport was running by the time I arrived, shattered from the walk from Lyme Regis! A very friendly and congenial host - the room was perfect for my needs with wifi and a TV and a comfortable bed. In the morning a self service and generous breakfast of cereals/toast/juice/fruit and hot drink was provided, and later I was whisked back to Seaton (very short journey in a car) and bid adieu!

    Gemma2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was neat and tidy. Though the room was small, every thing was in it's place. There was nothing to wish for. We did not meet Lucinda in person, but she left us a key and a very handy note explaining everything. It was all together a pleasant stay. Colyton is quite picturesque and a good starting point for trips to the see like Lyme Regis.

    Susann2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lucinda has been very welcoming and friendly. She provided all the required information. The check-in was smooth as she was constantly replying our messages. Her house is very nicely decorated. Everything was neat and tidy. Breakfast with cereal and toast were provided too and you can dine at the area overlooking the yard. The room is very comfortable and everything is clean. There's a TV in the room too but without a remote control as it was broken (Am sure Lucinda would have sorted this out in due time :) ) The only improvement we could point out is that the bathroom does not have a shower head. It comes with conventional bathtub and water taps so it may be a tad inconvenient for a quick shower. It is located in a quiet town but food is available in its local pubs.

Geared for family holidays or walkers alike, this character cottage sits in a delightful location with a woodburner and an enclosed garden. Colyton is ideally located for enjoying the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site at Seaton. The quaint fishing village of Beer, the famous Cob at Lyme Regis, the Georgian resort of Sidmouth and the cathedral city of Exeter are all close by.
Mayfield cottage is a 3 bedroom property with 2 double bedrooms and 1 single room which can accommodate twin beds. It boasts many original features with oak beams and a log burner in the living room.
Colyton is full of history and is know as a rebel town.
  • Nice cosy cottage in Devon. Although we never met Paul directly, he was quick to respond to questions and queries, both before and during our stay. The neighbour Kathy was also very friendly and helpful and a delight to meet. The cottage was well equipped and clean, and the kitchen has most of what you expect for a week long stay. We didnt get the chance to try out all the features such as the wood burners - but am sure it would also have added to our enjoyment during colder months. Colyton is a lovely village, and also very convenient (with a car) for exploring the surrounding areas of Devon and Dorset. Thanks for a relaxing few days!

    Quan2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage and we'll equipped for 6 people to stay. I'd recommend this place for anyone and is great value for money. Colyton is a quaint village and is close to the beaches of Seaton and Beer which are nice stony beaches.

    Simon2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The home was exactly as described and very well appointed with everything that we could have needed. Before arriving, Paul gave me a call to explain everything about the property, where is nice to eat, and good things to see, which was all greatly appreciated. Colyton is a small, friendly town with a few shops, and a nice butchers! The kids loved the old electric tram that runs down to the sea - well worth a trip.

    Nigel2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house was really well appointed, with a great decor and atmosphere. It made a perfect base for two small families.

    Emma2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely well-equipped cottage in a very pleasant and quiet location. Good links to nearby towns and resorts. Well thought out equipment - more available than listed. For example, dog bed and bowls, hairdryer and straighteners, xbox etc.

    Dmitri2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in a pretty village with a store and a couple of pubs one selling excellent food. Garden is lovely and has a fully functional charcoal bbq. The cottage is located within striking distance of some lovely areas we particularly liked Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth. Tesco is at Seaton and barely 10 minutes away. Parking is available outside but we had to park on a road away from the cottage a couple of times but never more than a minute or two away. Due to the open nature of the staircase this cottage may not be good for some people/children but we coped fine and carried a 5 month baby up and down quite happily. However for a toddler it would be impossible to fit a stair gate. A well above average property, a helpful host and a useful welcome pack all contributed to making our stay a fantastic one and we would definitely return.

Our comfortable little cottage is in the heart of the historic town of Colyton, East Devon, just three miles from the beautiful Jurassic coast. With wood-burning stove, wi-fi and sunny courtyard, it has everything you need to enjoy your stay.
As part of Colyton's conservation area, the cottage is surrounded by historic buildings. Newly converted, it's bright, fresh and comfortable. The ground floor is open-plan and there's one double bedroom and one single bedroom room plus shower room upstairs.
Colyton is a lovely small town dating back to mediaeval times, 3 miles from the sea and 7 from Lyme Regis. It has half-a-dozen shops, tea rooms, 3 pubs and a tiny library. Two minutes' walk from the cottage brings you to the meadows by the river and some of the most glorious countryside in Britain.
  • Linda was so helpful and communicative prior to our stay! She gave us all the information that we needed. The house is so lovely, so clean, calm, cute and has everything you would need! So close to food shops, amazing butchers and fantastic pub and chippy! Her folder of things to do in the area is honestly great, so many ideas! We went to a spa and to the pig and would recommend them both so highly! We just had the best time and the house was such good value and the nicest base - thank you Linda and to your very lovely neighbour Carol for some great tips and checking we had everything we needed!!

    Sophie2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Linda's charming cottage. Everything you need for a short break is provided. We particularly loved the log burner and very comfy bed. Colyton itself is a lovely small village, we loved Merchants Tea Rooms. Great location for exploring Dorset and Devon coast. We'd highly recommend to other Airbnbers.

    Geraint2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage in a good location. Had everything we needed. Linda couldn't have been more helpful. The only downside was the lack of parking outside the cottage as it is on a quaint little Street. Having said that, we had no problem finding a spot nearby each day. The cottage itself is well equipped and Linda had thought of everything. It really was a home from home. Would stay again and would definitely recommend.

    Debbie 2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I have been visiting family in Colyton over Christmas. Spent the two first weeks at Linda's cottage which became a quiet home away from home for me. Welcomed with tea and biscuits, and a cozy fire. For a small space, the well thought out renovations provided a clean, comfortable, cozy retreat, all the amenities one could want, and easy accessibility to Colyton's central shops and town square. Within a few days I had met many friendly people in Colyton who were all more than willing to fill you in on upcoming iCal events and invite you to take part in them. Also, if exploring the countryside interests you, one can be out of Colyton on foot, in less than a 5 to 10 minute walk from the cottage, enjoying one of the many walks in the surrounding countryside. I also took the opportunity to go a bit further by car and bus/train, to a number of the surrounding towns. There is really nothing more I can think of that would make this cottage more inviting or enjoyable for a "place of one's own" to visit and explore Colyton and surrounding area. Many thanks to Linda for her care and effort to make it so.

    Daphne2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Linda's cottage. The cottage was perfect for us as a family of 3. It's exactly as described. We didn't meet Linda, but she was brilliant at communicating with us and answering texts advising us on the area and places to go. We would highly recommend staying here.

    Dawn2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's cottage was perfect for our visit to Colyton. Comfortable and clean, with a well-equipped kitchen (spotlessly clean) and very comfy beds, it was ideal for our five night stay. Linda provided us with lots of information about the local area. Colyton itself is a lovely town with a fascinating history, great for walks along the river or down to the sea. We enjoyed eating at the Kingfisher & local shops also v good and everybody very friendly too. Parking in the town was also very easy.

    Andrew2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage. Exactly what it said on the tin. Nice village location to chill out and get away from everything but also a suitable base for exploring Devon and Dorset along the Jurassic Coast.

    Sammie 2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant few days staying at this lovely cottage in Colyton. The cottage had everything we needed, and there were lots of thoughtful extras such as tea and biscuits waiting for us on arrival, milk in the fridge, hot water bottles (not that we needed them for a sunny week in September) and a baby bath. There's lots to see and do in the area, especially recommend the tram down to Seaton, a visit to Lyme Regis, and cream tea in the village.

  • A beautiful barn, decorated to perfection! Anthony and Deborah were wonderful hosts. Loved our time at the barn and the dogs were a lovely addition to our stay!

    Tara2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Buckhouse farm. The barn is very spacious and the hosts have taken great care in making it child friendly, with baby gates and loads of toys for kids. The location is perfect for exploring the Devon region. We didn't get to meet the hosts, Anthony and Deborah, however the communication before the trip was excellent. We did meet their son who was very courteous and pleasant. The only thing I'd say to make the experience even better is that the hosts could consider boosting the wifi connection especially as there is no phone service at the barn, located as it is in the beautiful countryside, which would make communication with the outside world easier. Overall, an absolutely fantastic stay.

    Gesu2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the barn and Anthony and Deborah were friendly and helpful hosts. It is nicely furnished, well appointed and the views are beautiful. It is well located for day trips in Devon and Dorset. My young son really enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm and particularly liked the two friendly dogs!

    Robyn2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spacious barn conversion with great views across the fields. A great break away from our busy suburban life and an excellent location for exploring the nearby coastal areas. Anthony and Deborah are very nice friendly hosts without being intrusive. Will hopefully be back in the future.

    Tarrent2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is in a tranquil location with lovely views of the fields from the windows. We were cosy in front of the fire, but the terrace and the pool looked promising for warmer days. The house is well equipped and very spacious, the furnishings are comfortable, stylish and unfussy and everything in perfect working order. The beds were comfortable with nice linen. Deborah and Anthony were unobtrusive but helpful hosts and very friendly; the dogs were great fun to play with and very well behaved. We were a group of five friends and everyone had plenty of space. I would certainly like to go back!

    Marian2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from our mini break at Buckhouse Farm and cannot recommend it enough. Myself, my wife and our 2 yr old boy were met by Deborah and quickly shown around the barn and then left to settle in. The barn is perfectly located to visit Lyme Regis and the other coastal towns and in itself offers 3 very generous double rooms, one with ensuite, all perfectly equipped. The open plan living space is ideal for families wanting to relax and allow the kids to spread the toys everywhere! Every morning we opened all the windows and had breakfast over looking the sheep and the incredible views. Our son was obsessed with the animals, particular Bella and Jess who welcomed us home every day and were two of the friendliest dogs we have ever come across. For kids any of the beaches are great but would definitely recommend Pecorama for train fans! We will definitely be coming back!

    joel2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anthony and Deborah's barn was a wonderful place to stay- we only wished we could have stayed longer!! We all arrived late at night but they very kindly stayed up to ensure we got in safely, and had left lights on so it all felt very homely and welcoming. What a treat to wake up the next morning to such stunning views- we could have happily just sat gazing out at the English countryside at its best all day! But instead we got out to explore some of the beautiful surrounding area, and there's plenty on offer. Anthony and Deborah were very thoughtful hosts, checking in with us from time to time to make sure we had everything we needed. The barn was really well stocked, with a super array of kitchen equipment. All in all, a wonderful location, comfortable barn and very welcoming hosts- we hope to be back!

    Helen2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had only two days at Buckhouse Farm, booked only a few days before we went, but we couldn't have found a better place if we'd planned it months in advance. A beautiful setting on a working farm, in a fantastic barn conversion. Very spacious and clean, quiet, well equipped and comfortable. And a great base for exploring the coast. Anthony and Deborah were very welcoming and hospitable, ready to help or provide some local knowledge if needed. The dogs were a big hit with our children. Jess is the perfect companion for a walk and was very well behaved. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Three-bedroom bungalow (super king or single beds) in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Big garden with views over the Axe Valley, 10mins from the seaside. Great for families, nature-lovers and those in need of peace and quiet!
All newly reburbished to a good standard. The main bedroom (with double bed) has an en-suite shower room. The main bathroom has a shower and bath. Bedrooms 2 & 3 both have superking-sized beds which can be zipped apart to make twins if you prefer. We provide bedding for either option. Brand new, well-appointed kitchen with a double oven (electric), ceramic hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment and a washing machine, as well as plenty of crockery and cutlery, utensils, pots and pans. In the living room there is a large TV, DVD player, hi-fi and lots of games (even a games table!) Dining table looks out over the garden and seats six. There is a large front garden with a drive for one car (parking easy for more than one), and a large back garden with a patio, pond and plenty of plants and flowers.
The house is a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the Rebel Town of Colyton where the streets are lined with stone and thatched buildings. The Seaton Tramway provides an interesting ride from Colyton to the fossil-laden Jurassic coast, two miles away. Colyton is small but has a couple of convenience stores (with larger supermarkets ten minutes away by car in Seaton), a good fish and chip shop, a number of tea rooms (for the classic Devon cream tea!), a gift shop, a pharmacy, an antique shop, a handful of good pubs and a church, as well as access to great walks through pretty countryside.
  • Lorraine's place is freshly decorated and really comfortable with all the kitchen equipment you need. It is in a very quiet area and yet you can walk downhill to village centre in 5-10 minutes. We recommend The Kingfisher for pub meals in the evenings, particularly their fish. There's plenty to do in and around Seaton with easy access to the coast and footpaths.

    Lorna2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very happy with this place during our recent stay with our 5 & 2yr olds. Was perfect for our needs. Great communication from Lorraine the host in the run up to our stay. This lovely house is located in an elevated area so those photos from the garden are spot on giving those great relaxing scenic views. The late closing convenience shops down in the main village were helpful to us, if you don't take the car be prepared for the climb back up to the house. Lovely location to stay, we had lots of options regarding nearby beaches to visit. Would be happy to stay here again when visiting this part of Devon again!

    Sonia2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, peaceful home with great views. We found Lorraine's house to be comfortable, clean and well equipped. We had a car and the location is ideal for exploring this part of Devon and Dorset. It is also a great base for anyone attending a course at River Cottage HQ. Lorraine is a good host - prompt communication, easy check-in/check-out, a home manual which always helps. There was also a good supply of essentials which is always appreciated.

    Sonja2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lorraine was a great host, she replied to all our emails promptly, when I needed to change my dates she was quickly to accommodate. The house is lovely, well decorated and very comfortable, in the wonderful town of Colyton. The whole area is just gorgeous, with lots of activities for the kids and beautiful beaches to explore. We would def recommend Lorraine's's house as a great port from which to explore that part of Devon.

    Janina2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow is ideally situated for visits to a range of places in Devon and Dorset, such as Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. The house is spacious and ideal for families, with nearby shops and scenic views to the rear. The host was very helpful and friendly.

The Shooting Lodge is a converted lace making school located at the end of a true beaten track with uninterrupted rural views. Just minutes away from the Jurassic Coastline, this quirky venue is totally secluded nestled into an area of outstanding natural beauty offering a break away from everyday life.
Combining a mix of home comforts and escapism, The Shooting Lodge has a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom with a mezzanine level offering sleeping accommodation. The rustic kitchen provides all the facilities for a comfortable stay including kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and a one off cooking experience on a range cooker or on the woodburning fire. The open plan living and dining area has a distinct feel with Scottish influences and is full of character with a large woodburner that heats the Lodge as a focal point, exposed oak throughout and herringbone flooring, double doors opening out onto the courtyard and banquet style table. Upstairs, a bespoke bathroom is tucked into the eaves with exposed wood throughout creating a delightful sanctuary offering a freestanding slipper bath, hand wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Also on the mezzanine level there is a private double bedroom with stunning views across the surrounding landscape and overlooking the ground floor, there are two single camp beds provided additional sleeping accommodation. In true escapism spirit, The Shooting Lodge is free from modern technology and allows you to reconnect with your surroundings and loved ones. The property really comes alive at night with the opportunity of candlelit evenings in front of the fire, perfect for cosy winter getaways.
  • Reading the reviews I think they covered the main points (the lane, lovely bath and shooting trophies). Location and lodge were better than we thought, the photos really don't do it justice. We had a wonderful time exploring and spending time in the lodge with the dogs, for a quiet getaway. Don't worry about getting cold the stove is huge and keeps you cosy. Honestly couldn't fault it and Alice was really helpful.

    Abi2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully unique lodge, beautifully situated in rolling countryside. If you do want a slice of idyll then you must stay here. Alice, the host, was affable and more than happy to make sure our stay went smoothly. Absolutely 10/10.

    Chris2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place and a great way to reconnect with simple uncluttered pleasures of life. We managed not to use the generator at all and rely instead on candle light and a perfectly good gas cooker for food. And we all stopped looking at our phones! Simon and family

    Simon2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot. Great host. Amazing location. Wonderful to feel so 'off grid' We'll be back

    Max2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing and calming time in Alice's barn. Total escapism and fully remote - the wood burner was ace and we loved the option to have 'no electricity' (there is a generator if needed!). We look forward to staying again.

    Jane2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a complete Get-Away-From-It-All stay, this has to be the place! With the nearest neighbour being a brisk walk through adjoining famers' fields away, the sense of seclusion is wonderful. Alice, who lives about a mile away, could not have been a better host and clearly explained how everything worked. A huge wood burner heats the main room and the mezzanine in no time at all. A plethora of candles creates just the right atmosphere - although electricity is provided by a generator should you prefer. The kitchen stove provides plenty of piping hot water. We loved it here and can thoroughly recommend it and we are already looking to book another weekend...just remember to leave your mobile phone and laptop at home and enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Liz2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We mostly enjoyed our four night stay in early January in this very unusual and attractive building set in beautiful countryside. We would probably have enjoyed it more had we visited in the summer, when the accommodation would be brighter and less reliant on a noisy diesel generator for light and a smoky wood-burner for heat. The setting is truly beautiful and the woodwork within the building really nice (if, like me, you like that sort of thing). And the size of the accommodation is generous. But... - The main living area, dominated by a table seating 14, is oddly laid out if you don't plan on inviting a dozen friends to join you for dinner. If you do though, I imagine it would be ideal! - As the building and almost all the windows are NW-facing, natural light is limited. The diesel generator powers a small number of low-output LED lights. Candles top things up. It's atmospheric, but be warned the lighting is dim. - An oil range provides a base level of heating to the kitchen, a small radiator to the downstairs toilet, and a towel rail to the bathroom. But this is only a base level. In winter, you're reliant on a large, smoky wood burner for warmth. Despite having windows open whenever we could, by the end of our four days we were coughing from the smoke and reeking of its smell. - And, as Alice warns in her listing, the drive to the building is uphill on an unmade farm track. Our very average Ford Focus bottomed out in a couple of places. If you have a lower slung car or one you're particularly proud of, be warned.

You’ll love my home because of the location (Devon, Dorset & Somerset exploring) and the cosiness. Ideal for individuals & business travellers. Please note shared bathroom (bath only) & I'll always have some continental breakfast bits available.
  • I stayed in the single room which feonts onto the road, separated by a long front garden and ao there was minimal traffic noise. The facilities were great, the host was lovely and i would return if i was in the area again. A great stay.

  • Have stayed at Lucindas a few times now. Always a friendly welcome. Lucinda is very laid back & makes you feel very at ease. You don't feel awkward using kitchen etc. Would not hesitate in booking with Lucinda again. Thanks very much Lucinda.

  • I felt very relaxed staying at Lucinda's and had everything I needed for a quiet break from the stresses of everyday life. Easier to get around if you have a car but I managed really well with public transport and then you don't have the hassle of finding parking in busy resorts.

  • Lucinda's place was really cosy and comfortable, and I loved my room. She's so kind, she even picked me up from Seaton on her way home! I thought that was such a considerate thing to do. Thank you!!

  • Lucinda is an amazing hostess who is very friendly and welcoming into her amazing home (which is one of the nicest I have ever been in!) The house is located in the beautiful hills and is very quiet with some nice country pubs and shops. Everything is exceptional, and I highly recommended it to anyone.

  • Lucinda helped me enjoy a happy week in her bright, warm home, with daily pleasant chats & providing a guide book to charming Colyton. Everything was fine without issues accessing the kitchen & bathroom where hot water was constantly available. No shower but the bath filled quickly & was lovely, as was the comfy bed. Loads of storage space for a single room. Choice of jams, cereals, toast & fruit for brekky. very quiet & peaceful area with good bus links.

  • Lucinda was the nicest host you could ask for ! Friendly, informative and super welcoming. The room was lovely and the setting amazing. Lucinda let me know everywhere to go in the area and was even kind enough to give me a lift to the station Sunday morning as there were no taxis! Highly recommend, thank you Lucinda ! Richard

PRESS ALERT: GRAND DESIGNS MAGAZINE NOVEMBER 2017 TO FEATURE BEEHIVE COTTAGE. FEATURED IN THE SATURDAY TELEGRAPH- 18 MARCH 2017 Beehive Cottage is a very contemporary architect designed house, what makes it unique is that it is set in a very secluded spot in the middle of the countryside. It is a sustainable design with solar panels, heat pump and solar hot water. There's an open plan kitchen/living space with woodburner on the ground floor with a shower room, and two double bedrooms at first floor with another shower room. The two bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with super king (or twin) and kingsize Hypnos hotel beds, we use White Company Egyptian cotton linens, and soft fluffy cotton white towels. We also leave you 'Basic Earth' designer toiletries and hand wash/cream in both bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Honiton is also 3 miles away and has a couple of excellent gastro pubs, restaurants and larger supermarkets. The newly opened Pig at Coombe Hotel and restaurant is 20 minutes away and serves a fabulous lunch or dinner.
  • Great place to relax and unwind, with lots of nice touches to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay. This doggy friendly area is only a short drive from beaches and cafes, happy to welcome you as well as your pet. Mark and Liam have designed a beautiful space, a real home from home.

    Andy2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a week in Beehive Cottage hoping for a relaxing and recuperative stay in the heart of the English countryside and that’s exactly what we got and more. The location is ideal, if you want to get away from the world – a valley of narrow lanes flanked by hedgerows teeming with animal life and wild flowers, wooded hillsides and spectacular views. But it’s also ideal as a base for visiting the interesting and picturesque towns and villages of East Devon – Honiton, Sidmouth, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Bridport and the city of Exeter are all within an hour or two’s drive.  Though just staying put would have been enough to make it a great stay. The cottage is a beautiful and sensitively designed eco-friendly modern building that is a joy to live in, making the most of the bucolic surroundings while unobtrusively using state-of-the-art digital technology to enable the most demanding modern city-dweller to absolutely have their cake and eat it! Very important too with a teenager in tow. She loved the house, garden and the resident dog was a big hit. Mark and Neil are consumate hosts who really couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and their written notes and advice meant that no question you might have went unanswered. The orchard had two apple trees heavy with fruit which we were welcome to use. We made 'Brendan's Apple Cake' from a selection of recipes left in the cottage for guests. It was delicious. Don't forget to bring a cake tin with you if you enjoy baking. By the end of the week we were thoroughly de-stressed and already planning our next visit.

  • Mark and Liam are great hosts and we enjoyed having chats with them. The house is beautifully decorated with a nice garden and views, and super comfortable beds! The welcome hamper was a great touch as well. The house is perfect for those who want to be in the country side but still have all mod cons. We loved every minute of our stay and would recommend the place to anybody.

    Katarina2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Truly charming, relaxing and peaceful property in a fantastic location. A real one-of-a-kind; modern but also characterful; high-spec but also laid back. The perfect spot for any city dweller looking for some seclusion in Devon's beautiful countryside!

    Ben2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Liam were perfect hosts and the house and location were fantastic. You do need to be able to use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Map to find the house but that is part of the fun.

    Richard2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stunning. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the home. Mark and Liam were wonderful, the house is amazingly designed and it's so quiet. We loved this place!

    Joel2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying at Beehive Cottage for a full month and by the end of our stay it truly felt like home - we didn’t want to leave! Mark and Liam were the most wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make our time both comfortable and memorable. They have thought of everything to make your stay a perfect experience with many luxury touches, along with a sophisticated eco design. We loved the bathroom with its big open shower, soft, fluffy white towels and the lovely smelling hand soaps, it felt like we were staying in a boutique hotel! We are normally dying to get back to our own bed after being away for so long, but we slept so well for the entirety of our stay. The beds are incredibly comfortable with the surrounds being so peaceful, that at night the only sound to be heard is of a distant owl, magical! The kitchen is fully equipped with high end appliances, which was great for us as we love to cook! We also got to spend many evenings barbecuing and sitting on the outside deck in complete peace and quiet of the countryside. On the cooler evenings Netflix was an added bonus. We really enjoyed being able to walk straight out of the cottage on one of the recommended loops and couldn’t get enough of the beautiful and expansive views of the countryside. It was also a highlight spotting deer grazing in the neighbouring fields. Staying at Beehive Cottage makes you feel like you are miles away from everything. It is incredibly peaceful being surrounded by nothing but beautiful scenery and nature. The big plus of this, however is that the cottage is conveniently only a 10 minute drive into Honiton town or 20 to Branscombe beach, our favourite spot, with wonderful cliff walks. It really is an ideal place to escape from everything, and a wonderful location to explore the picturesque towns, villages, national parks and the jurassic coast that make East Devon a magical experience. Mark and Liam’s ‘helpful hints’ booklet was a gem. We took much of their advice by eating at recommended restaurants/cafes, visiting particular places and exploring Dartmoor. They have great taste and knowledge of the local area. We are already planning our next trip and can’t wait to return to this little slice of green paradise!

    Rachel2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing house that is located in an amazing spot. Perfect for anyone who wants to get away from it all, have good night sleeps, and just enjoy nature. Walking around here is fantastic. We loved it so much. Mark, Liam and Ricky the dog were very welcoming. And we love the Beehive cottage also, it feels very close to home.

  • Simple, straightforward and friendly. This is a working farm with lots of animals around and the bustle and conditions you would expect. I loved it. Nothing like going to sleep with the gentle mooing of cows in the dark :-)

  • Lovely house on a working farm, beautiful views of countryside. And lots of farm animals to meet, dogs, geese, chickens, cows and a guinea fowl. A quirky cottage with original beams and features. Our room was lovely with tea and coffee facilities and there was a kitchen and living room we were allowed to use. The whole experience was very homely. Sylvia was welcoming and hospitable.

Charming cosy cottage an easy 2 minutes walk to the centre of the picturesque town of Colyton in East Devon, it has off road parking for 2 cars and a lovely walled garden with a summer house and outside eating area. Situated between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage is a 10 minute drive to the Jurassic coast and the Axe Estuary, a haven for birds and wildlife. Wonderful walks from our doorstep including the lovely East Devon Way.
The cottage is surprisingly spacious inside, and a lovely place to be even if the weather isn't brilliant! The kitchen is always warm and welcoming with the Aga cooker and the big farmhouse kitchen table to sit around.
Colyton has lots to offer including convenience stores, butcher, chemist, pubs, cafes, Post Office, hairdresser and a garden shop, so you don't have far to go for anything!
  • What a beautiful cottage this is, so warm, comfortable and welcoming, with essentials (such as hair dryers and towels) provided. The cottage was immaculate. It is situated within walking distance to local amenities such as local shop, pharmacy, cafes, pubs etc.. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Belinda is very lovely and her cottage is wonderful. Very comfortable and spacious. With an antique feeling and a lot of decoration. Colyton is a nice village and it is really close to Seaton and Sidmouth where you have beaches. Belinda welcomed us warmly with many gifts. I surely recommend this place for holidays.

    Gemma2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip away with a newborn so we were after somewhere we could make a home away from home and Chantry Cottage was exactly what we needed. Belinda and her family were incredibly helpful and were always on hand to ensure we had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay again.

    Victoria2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect countryside cottage with everything you need and more included. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and it really felt like home. Belinda left little boxes of cereal and fruit for the kids and tea, coffee, milk, snacks and bubbles for us! Also entertainment wise there was games, brilliant book and DVD selection, badminton, swing ball and a lovely enclosed and safe garden for the kids. In Devon terms it's a great location as only 20 mins drive from all the best attractions and beaches, towns and colyton itself is lovely-very small but with pubs, shops, tea rooms (everything you need). Also for anyone with little kids there is a little playpark 2 mins walk away over the bridge and a bigger one 1/2 Mile away for days when you don't feel like getting in the car. Your hosts will also make you feel so welcome, a real find! Thank you very much :-)

    Angie2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a fantastic stay in Belinda's lovely house. Check in was very easy and Belinda and Nick live next door so are available for any questions/advice. The house is so beautifully decorated. All of the bedrooms are of a great size - especially the master double, which is huge and very grand! The kitchen is cosy and a great place for the whole family to hang out (so good that we decided to cook in rather than going out for dinner on our last night). Belinda has thought of everything guests might want during their stay - including towels, beach towels and a bottle of prosecco on arrival! The garden is lovely and we spent many evenings sitting in the summer house, BBQ-ing, playing badminton and eating on the lovely patio area. The house is in a great location. It is on the outskirts of the village so backs onto the river and fields, which are great for walking. It is also easy to walk into the village to get to shops, butchers, pubs and a great book shop. We also walked to the tram station (around 10 mins) and took the tram to Colyford and Seaton. There are so many great beaches and towns within half an hour drive from the house. We explored West Bay, Lyme Regis, Branscombe, Seaton and Beer. Thank you Belinda for a great stay!

    Hazel2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I have just got back from staying in Belinda and Nick's beautiful home. My partner and I had a baby 4 months ago so this was our first holiday with our son, along with some other family members for back up! We could not have picked a better place to stay! The house itself is absolutely immaculate, and decorated to an extremely high spec - I could not fault it. The master bedroom is just gorgeous, with fantastic views over the garden and surrounding countryside. The Aga in the kitchen was a delight, as was the wonderful garden that is full of the most beautiful flowers. Just behind the walled garden there is a stream that you can hear flowing over the rocks which to me is just the most relaxing sound! Colyton is also situated in a really great spot - Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton (there is a huge Tesco there which was really handy) and Lyme Regis (to name but a few) are all 20-30 minutes journey from the cottage. With a young baby in tow this made days out a lot less stressful! There are also a few shops in the village and an amazing butchers. Belinda and Nick couldn't have been more helpful and were absolutely wonderful hosts. We now all want to make this an annual trip as we were just so impressed with this property. Thank you again Belinda and Nick for making our first family holiday such a memorable one

    Chloe2017-07-08T00:00:00Z

Holyford flat is a self-contained first floor flat with outdoor stairs for access. It has a large bedroom and a wonderful living room with a large open fireplace and windows facing South, overlooking the garden, small children's play area and in the distance a 15th century farmhouse. It is situated on a beautiful 4 acre eco-smallholding, down a quiet lane next to Holyford ancient woodlands yet is very close to the many varied Jurassic coast beaches.
Free, seasonal homegrown organic vegetables are available for guests during their stay. The flat has its own entrance and comprises most of the first floor of the house. The water supplied is spring water (filtered and UV-treated) and hot water comes from our wood-fired biomass boiler. Normally 1 double bed and 2 bunk beds in bedroom, however this can be adapted to suit guests' needs. Living room has a double sofa bed.
Holyford Woods ancient woodland. Excellent cliff walks (eg Beer to Branscombe) Beautiful countryside esp near Farway and Southleigh. Colyton to Seaton tramway. Seaton wetlands. Pecorama model railway. Jurassic coast and fossil hunting. River Axe estuary. Local surf beaches (we can advise). Local sea and river fishing (likewise, we can advise!) Wet weather -Exeter museum, local swimming pools, Pecorama indoor play area for kids.
  • Lovely secluded spot, but so close to a number of seaside locations. Both the bedroom and living room are particularly spacious with amazing outlooks. Facilities in kitchen are good - we used the oven and microwave (as well as the kettle - obviously!) The curtains let in quite a lot of light so we did need to put something extra up to keep the bedroom dark for our 3 year old. Expect a small amount of noise from the family and anyone staying in the yurt - this was minimal so didn't bother us.

    Helen2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline and her family are lovely. She and her husband helped our colleagues to spend two wonderful weeks there in a secluded, picturesque country cottage as they've stated: " you see this only in British movies and we taste this experience for real and I must admit it was wonderful. I hope I will be back someday to spend this time my holiday here." Thank you, Caroline!

    Albert2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place. Caroline and Jan were very welcoming, and the apartment had everything we needed. We stayed here 3 nights with our two toddlers and it was perfect. The kids loved the chickens outside the flat and Dylan the dog. It's a short drive to Seaton. We had a busy weekend so didn't manage to explore the nearby walks and woods - maybe next time! The list says no TV or heating, but it does have those. Also really lovely hot shower.

    Hannah2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful setting! Really enjoyed our stay here, we arrived late so didn't see Caroline or Jan but all the instructions were clear and communication was great. Peaceful, in a stunning area and close to the amazing Devon coastline. We would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Thanks very much Caroline and Jan!

  • We had a fantastic little family break at Holyford. Jan and Caroline were really friendly hosts. The flat is perfect for a rural getaway and has a good sized bedroom and living room which look out upon the beautiful surroundings of Colyford. Our kids loved the large garden with a trampoline and the nearby woods were great for exploring too. Its a great escape but also only a short drive to Seaton, Beer and Branscombe

A luxurious self-contained double room with king-sized bed and en-suite wet room. Full English cooked breakfast served in the adjoining conservatory or dining room with amazing views of the Devon countryside. A swimming pool is available usually between May and September.
We offer a completely self-contained luxurious room with twin or a super king-sized bed with an en-suite wet room, colour TV, mini fridge, hot drinks tray etc. We are situated in a rural location at the top of a hill with panoramic views. You will have to drive along approximately two miles of small lanes to reach us. A solar heated swimming pool and pool towels are available during most of the summer months. A full English breakfast is provided in the adjoining conservatory or dining room made from locally sourced produce wherever possible. The market towns of Axminster and Honiton are nearby and the medieval town of Colyton is just 2.4 miles drive. We are also well located for exploring the Jurassic Coast
We are set in the small rural hamlet of Watchcombe at the top of a hill. We have outstanding views of the local East Devon countryside and are about 5 miles from the coast.
  • Beautiful bedroom in an idyllic setting with 4 welcoming hosts (Melanie, Henry and their 2 puppies). Our day at Watchcombe started with a scrumptious homemade breakfast, followed by informative suggestions on where we can go to spend the day. It was a truly relaxing holiday, thank you Melanie and Henry.

    Els2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie was so accommodating, she was more than happy to let us turn up after midnight after a long and tiring drive after work.

    Alex2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely welcoming host. More breakfast than we could eat. Hated to waste some but I think the dogs benefited! The host was very helpful in accommodating my gluten intolerance which I do appreciate. Gorgeous house tucked away in the rolling Devon hills. We had a beautifully decorated twin en suite room with use of the glassed in area on the side of the house which has great views over the countryside - a big plus. Nothing's ever perfect so you need to know that the price for the spectacular views is a slow, winding journey down some very narrow lanes to get to the house. We were there after some heavy rains and there was quite a lot of debris on the roads which made driving interesting. Nevertheless, well worth the effort. Please also note that this is a family home and normal life goes on even when there are guests.

    Christine2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a very enjoyable weekend at Melanie and Henry's beautiful home. Everything was just perfect from the spotless room to the scrumptious breakfast. We had our own little fridge stocked with water and milk and as a special touch as we were the first official guests , a bottle of Prosecco. This was greatly appreciated. Our dog was made to feel most welcome too and exchanged sniffs with Tula the resident dog. Wonderful scenery , wonderful hosts and we would certainly go again.

    Lindsey2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel very welcome on our stay at watchcombe house and very much enjoyed the use of the pool on sunny days. The breakfast was very tasty and everthing was very clean and tidy. Would recommend to anyone who needs to stay in this area.

    Leanne2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie was an amazing host. She has just the single room in the B&B but it is kitted out to the max. Quality furninshings, own fridge, brand new bathroom, large luxurious towels and expensive toiletries, down duvets and plush beds. The view was great and breakfast was amazing! Cannot fault anything. Would definitely recommend and return.

    Sarah2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were warmly welcomed and felt immediately relaxed in the luxury accommodation and rural location.

    Helen2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie was most welcoming - and very flexible on our arrival time (which kept changing due to unscheduled gallery stops). The room is beautiful, cool and clean. The toiletry basket was a very nice surprise, as was the good selection of teas and coffees. The bed was wonderful and we both had a great nights sleep. Our won keys meant we could come and go as we pleased without feeling as if we were imposing. Oh and breakfast was 5 star. Thank you for having us!

  • What an amazing view! Very cosy house! Our hosts were very friendly! Molly's father showed us all their animals and explained us some details about them. They have 2 very friendly dogs ready to play along. having a cup of tea with a peacock next to you is a treat. Highly recommend this place!

    Krissy2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A picturesque place, , had we been able to stay longer we would have explored more and enjoyed the other facilities available. A reminder that there is no traditional oven or hob so if you want to cook meals it could be a bit tricky! Also stairs are very steep for us 60 somethings but only when carrying two cups of tea! We managed! Overall a lovely place to stay and a welcoming host, we would return.

    Anne 2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Molly's cottage enough for a restful stay in beautiful Devon. We travelled as two small families with two under ones, looking for a quiet location from which to explore the local sights. It did not disappoint. The cottage was quaint and cosy, with beautiful views and privacy for our stay. Molly and her family could not have been more helpful; even going to the trouble of immediately buying a new shower head when the original could not be found. Read the exact details of the property in full, as some might be looking for a stand-in shower or a full kitchen for their creature comforts, however to us this was not an issue. A walk to the lake, use of the private tennis courts and a variety of friendly visiting wildlife (a new calf, a friendly peacock) were special elements I'm certain we wouldn't have found elsewhere. Finally, the location was easy to find with Molly's directions and offered Sidmouth, Axmouth and beautiful beaches all within easy reach by car. A beautiful find.

  • I don't normally write reviews but feel compelled to do so. Firstly, Wow.....The accommodation is in one of the most beautiful locations, overlooking miles of countryside. The grounds are immaculate and we really enjoyed walking through the fields to the lake. Inside the accommodation is clean and spacious and has everything that you would need. Molly kindly provided breakfast cereals, bread, milk and eggs which was a lovely touch. We took our 4 year old granddaughter and niece and they loved playing with the dogs and watching the peacock. Molly and her family were really welcoming and gave us some good tips for days out. Thank you again for a lovely few days.......we will be back!!!

    Sandra2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 4 just returned from the cottage and we had a great time. Our hosts were very friendly and always helpful. Even took my children over to collect the eggs in the morning. The cottage is spacious and the location is very rural and has wonderful views and is in a large plot. High recommend, especially if you're looking for peace, quiet and a break from the Internet and TV.

Situated right in the heart of the pretty medieval town of Colyton, this characterful 18th century house, with its rich and intriguing history, offers easy access to all the marvels of the Jurassic Coast, yet remains blissfully off the tourist track. Comfortable, well-equipped and handy for all amenities, there’s masses of space for everyone, plus a beautiful secluded walled garden offering ample outdoor dining space and serene views out to the hills.
Perfect for families, for walkers, for nature lovers and for foodies, with excellent walks from the doorstep, and all the marvels of the Jurassic Coast to be explored: the fossil-rich beaches of Charmouth and Lyme Regis, the picturesque coastal villages of Branscombe and Beer and elegant Regency Sidmouth. Colyton is a very pretty medieval town, with some remarkable architecture, and a very beautiful church. There is a tramway that goes from the town to the sea, popular with birdwatchers and children. The town is served by two small supermarkets, and an exceptionally good butcher, famous for award-winning sausages and pies. Be sure to try! There are three pubs. The Kingfisher is handy, very friendly and inexpensive.

  • Ambra was very welcoming and kind.

    Nichol2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely couple of days at Ambra's lovely historic house. Ambra was very good at contacting us and informed us that she presently had no Wifi before we made our booking. The house is much bigger than the pictures show and is full of history and character. The garden is lovely - quaint cottage garden style and nice for a morning coffee! The location is great being only a few miles from some beautiful beaches and Colyton is lovely for a little wander. Ambra left a very useful handbook of information about the area. The house and area is great for dogs and the little extras provided like a dog bowl and bed was very helpful.

    L C2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 3 days staying in Ambra's delightful house. There was so much room and the garden was a beautiful place to sit and relax in. The Aga kept the kitchen warm and cosy and we enjoyed toasting our crumpets each morning! We so enjoyed exploring the local area and crabbing at Seaton was a highlight of our stay. Ambra was very welcoming and we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend it . Thank you Ambra's.

  • Bakers Cottage, garden and views are absolutely beautiful. Host Sara provided us with a fabulous welcome of fruit and other delicious treats, including local baked bread, tea, coffee, milk and eggs which was very thoughtful after a long journey. We have had a truly exceptional weekend at Bakers Cottage. Tip: ignore sat-nav which will try to take you down a cul-de-sac. The cottage is to the left of it. Stairs are narrow and winding so will be challenging for people with mobility difficulties. (There is no ground floor loo)

  • This is a great place very close to Beer (6 min drive) and a nice cabin that has everything you need on a family trip! Hesta communicated well with us, we could check in easily via a keybox and she even had milk and shampoo (which I fell in love with) and tips for the area provided! Luckily we had enough old pounds for the electricity, as you have to pay per meter and eventhough it should take new ones, it only took our old pounds. Not to forget to mentions, that when we arrived electricity was on and we already had warm water!

Hesta has done a wonderful job with all the beautiful finishing touches, we enjoyed finding all the knitted mice. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, plenty of extra blankets for cosiness at night, and even a sachet of ketchup for my addicted son - phew! We enjoyed our baths once the boys got over the fact that they had to have a bath, and not a shower, as the shower attachment was not quite like the showers at home! We couldn't get them out of the bath eventually!!!

Shute is a small, pretty hamlet, about 15 monutes drive from the market towns of Honiton and Axminster and about 20 minutes from Lyme Regis. The Jurassic Coast is a 10 minute drive away and is blessed with many fine beaches of interest to sun and sea worshippers, fossil hunters and of course - all lovers of ice cream. Lyme Regis is a must with pretty beach huts, sand and the Cobb made famous by Meryl Streep in the French Lieutenant's Woman. Spending an afternoon browsing the art galleries and tea shops of nearby Beer or walking the length of Branscombe (beware it is the longest village in England!) is a real pleasure. For more action, the city of Exeter is just 40 minutes away with fine shopping, culture and nightlife.
  • The Cart Barn was fantastic. It was perfect for a good old English Staycation and close to many great visiting attraction. It is a little difficult but Jan left very detailed instructions so was all fine Didn't get to meet Jan but communication was very clear and her husband showed us around and was very helpful. Jan makes your stay as relaxing as possible and even put out a gorgeous cake. The fire place is perfect to really make your stay a comfortable one. The bed was very comfy too!! Just down the road from Shute Barton (check the dates of when it's open as not that often). I would love to stay again as it's a beautiful property.

  • This was the perfect barn to get away from the stress of London! It has a beautiful view and perfectly located for exploring the South coastline. Jan and her husband made me feel very welcome. The fridge and cupboards were fully stocked with plenty of food to make a delicious breakfast in the morning, which was a lovely surprise. Very comfortable bed and beautiful feel to the barn with the natural timber and stone. I hope to be back again!

Semi detached barn, sleeps 4 plus cot. The barn is of four in a small select pretty courtyard setting. Close to the pretty village of Colyton, between the coastal towns of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. Seaton's mile long beach is under a 5 minute drive.
  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. There was nothing that Andrea had not supplied. There are dvd's, books and a basket full of games for all ages for those rainy days. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly require. Lovely comfortable beds and soft towels. Will stay again.

  • Andrea made sure of our smooth arrival by sending accurate and clear travel and arrival instructions. Her description and photos accurately portrayed the property and the quaility of the decor and facilities were extremely high. Quiet location in a rural setting with good road links to main coastal attractions.

  • The Dairy was a great central location from which to explore the local area. The house was very clean and well equipped everything we wanted. AS mentioned by previous guests, despite being on a main road the house is very well designed so that there is minimal noise and feels quite secluded. Andrea was a great host who was extremely pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. I would recommend Andrea's place to anyone looking to stay in the region.

    Nathan2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at The Dairy! The house was immaculately clean, beautifully presented and very well equipped. Andrea had gone to great lengths to make us feel welcome, even leaving some delicious treats in the kitchen. Despite the property being next to a main road, we did not find this too much of an issue. We would definitely like to return to The Dairy in the future!

  • Absolutely brilliant! Communication prior to visit was excellent and the accommodation was great. Perfect for a small family or a couple. Close enough to many of the beaches on the Jurassic Coast, without the burden of being surrounded by hundreds of other tourists. The lodge is very well proportioned and the Wi-Fi was better than ours at home. The garage behind the site was really handy for picking up some snacks or essentials without having to drive into town. Spotless on arrival and kitted with all utensils and equipment that you need. Our first Air BnB stay and we were thoroughly impressed! Thanks Pam!

A superb luxury ground floor self contained annexe with bedroom, hall and shower room part of a detached bungalow, situated at the edge of the small coastal town of Seaton.
  • The host was very welcoming and the directions we was sent were very accurate so although property was in the countryside we found it really easily. There was plenty of room to park the car and the room had everything necessary to enable us to enjoy our stay.

    Lynda2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice room, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Everything we needed for a great get away along the Jurassic coast

    Tamsyn2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect bolt hole for our weekend stay - tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Although it was advertised with no breakfast, there is a small fridge in the room, tea and coffee making facilities (milk provided - thanks) as well as cereal bowls and cutlery, so you could comfortably make yourself a 'beverage and brioche' to enjoy sitting at the little breakfast bar table and stools. Everything you could ask for in a B&B really from Sky TV to a complimentary packet of biscuits and fudge to good quality shampoo and shower gel. Only sorry we weren't staying longer.

    Patricia2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at the Little Holly. Daniel's mum couldn't be more helpful, the annex was spacious (even with our small baby), clean and tidy. Fully met our expectations and will definitely stay again. Maybe we will stay at the bigger cottage next door as it looks amazing from outside!! Great weekend thank you.

    Christy2016-04-25T00:00:00Z

A charming wooden holiday Chalet set on the Tower Country Chalet Park on the outskirts of the East Devon coastal town of Seaton, just a mile from the beach. This two-bedroom Chalet has an open-plan living area equipped with everything you need for a relaxing self-catering getaway, as well as a decked area at the front to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings.
  • Shelley was a great host and an efficient communicator. The chalet was comfortable and cosy with lovely furnishings. Convenient transport to visit the breaitful sights in the area. A great place to stay.

  • A very warm welcome and close to many beaches by car. Clean and comfortable accomodation. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to couples and small families.

  • Plenty of room for a family of four - convienent for cooking and exploring the local area - we would recommend Beer in particular - always parking available.

    Hannah2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Everything was ready for us to start our holiday. Communication was top notch. Definitely recommend and if we're ever down that way again, we'd stay there.

    Jo2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet was so gorgeous! Bijjoux but so pretty and beautifully interior designed. Shelley's really made it look special. There's everything you need for a short or long trip, she's provided everything. There is a bath and shower and great little porch where we sat out and had drink some nights. There are lots of other chalets on site but it feels very secluded and green, lots of trees and everyone (all two people!) seemed really nice! Shelley was very good at communicating and provided oodles of information for the are and our holiday. Very useful. Strongly recommend this lovely chalet in such a beautiful and fun filled part of Devon. Fantastic value for money, get in before they quite rightly put the price up!

    Juliet2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely chalet, really well positioned for getting into Seaton. Once you're across the main road there's a lovely back way through some woods which brings you out in the town and a short stroll to the beach. The chalet was well equipped and very quiet at night time (apart from the occasional hooting owl :). Overall, a really great experience.

    Colin2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place with everything you could need. Not far from amenities and the other holiday makers surrounding (the few of them given the time of year) were very friendly and the whole place was better than we originally expected, communication with Shelley was really easy and check in was very straight forward. Wold recommend. Will hopefully use again.
