  • This home is nice and large with nice windows, however I'll equipped for the amount of people that would be staying here. Several things either didn't work or didn't work well. The kitchen didn't have large cookie sheets and I think it had one 9" and maybe one 10" skillet which really isn't enough for as many people that can stay here. Kitchen has food warmer that doesn't really work. Furniture in downstairs tv room have VERY thin cushions from wear, and hair and dirt between cushions. Very few washcloths in the home (not enough for 8 guests). All beds but two are very old and uncomfortable. Outside had weeds growing through deck, taking over flower garden, and completely over the stairs to the river. Grill outside is new, however has was empty and when we got it refilled it still wouldn't go over 300 degrees. Overall we were pretty disappointed in this place.

  • The house was even better in person. It was the perfect backdrop for a New Years Eve getaway with a close knit group of friends. Everyone felt like they had ample personal space, we were able to get to and from town quickly, and utilized the kitchen to have great sit down meals. Faith was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with. Everything was just as expected. I would definitely recommend.

    Lauren2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This house was incredible. It has two gigantic porches with beautiful views of the Mianus river where we saw swans, blue jays, cardinals, and many other beautiful birds. Faith also allowed us to use her canoe and kayak on the river which was great. The house is very spacious and has a large kitchen that has every appliance you would ever need to cook for yourself. It also has a dumbwaiter that can be used to transport dishes to the upstairs dining room which we all thought was incredibly cool and useful. I would highly recommend this AirBnb to groups of friends or families looking to surround themselves with nature while still staying close to NYC.

  • Great house. Spacious. 2 separate lounge areas...up and down. Both with balconies. 4 beds....master large and has a fantastic full length view of river and trees - and tho is has no blinds it isn't overlooked so still feels very private. Upstairs lounge is particularly nice with efficient A/con which you will definitely need in the summer. And an open fire should you need it. Well equipped kitchen. Good BBQ on nice decking. Nice touches...soap and thick towels. Great views too from the back over the river...along which you can kayak (2 there when we went) up ..to the off licence/liquor store and deli if you wish and down some way as it widens out. 10 drive mins from Cob Cob metro (c$6 UBER) which is 50 mins into Grand Central ($24 return at peak...19.50 off peak. Carnet may be cheaper and can use with a group). Owner (Faith) is pretty responsive if you have queries. Highly Recommended if you want to stay in this area.

  • I recently stayed at this beautiful home with my family while in Greenwich celebrating a family wedding. Everything was perfect! Rooms are large, plenty of space inside and out. The deck is terrific and view of river is breathtaking! I would highly recommend this beautiful home!

    Ursula2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Faith was extremely response and accommodating. The back of the house sits right on the river, and the house is situated to take advantage of the beautiful views -- lots of windows. We like to cook and so we thought the kitchen was the best part of the house. The house is very clean, bright and rather large for a group to be very comfortable throughout the day. Beds were very comfortable too which was a nice bonus!

My place is perfect for business travelers as well...quiet, clean and minutes from Stamford and Greenwich My place is close to the beach, family-friendly activities, nightlife, public transport, and the airport. You’ll love my place because of the kitchen, the coziness, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
My place is less than 10 minutes to the train station...5 minutes from Downtown Greenwich, 10 minutes from the beach. Walking distance to parks, restaurants and shopping.
  • It was a pleasure to deal with Sherri. The location is very central, however, the noise form I95 was for us a bit too much, for other people this might not be an issue at all. The house was clean and everything necessary was provided.

  • Paul and Lily were so wonderful. I stayed for a whole month and they made me feel quite welcome. I was able to leave my meal preps in the refrigerator and heat them up the following day. Every day when I came home from work they were always eager to hear how my day was. They were also great in giving me my space when I needed it as well. All other accommodations were great and I had my own parking space as well.

Nice quiet neighborhood; 50 mins to Manhattan; a few minutes' walk to shops and amenities; right opposite a beautiful 300 acres natural reserve. It has independent entrance, new kitchen and bathroom. New queen-sized bed. Parking is available.
  • Hilda saved our weekend! We had originally booked a spot in PA and our host cancelled on us the day of. We were celebrating our anniversary and were disappointed to say the least. Hilda replied within minutes to our last ditch request at 10:30pm. She graciously accepted us and said she could have the space ready in an hour. When we arrived it was close to midnight and her husband graciously greeted us with a flashlight to show us where to park and get us settled. The studio is clean, bright and very true to the photos. The location is beautiful, you literally walk down their driveway and are smack-dab across the street from a 300-acre nature preserve. Supermarkets/delis are a 5 minute drive away (there is one literally down the street from there home, though it closed early in the day). Playland Park is a short drive away if you're visiting with small children, and there are a number of beaches in the area. Hilda and her husband were wonderful hosts. We had full privacy, though if we had any questions they were always available within minutes by text or call! The studio is adjoining there home, and you can hear light talking and dishes clinking. This was fine and expected, not at all a criticism to the hosts, as we knew were were staying in a private part of there home. Just good to know for other visitors in case they are bothered by any noise or want more sound privacy. I would strongly recommend this apartment and the hosts!

    Paul2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio! Very central and easy to get to, walkable neighborhood with an amazing park across the street. The studio is very comfortable (bed!), private and well equipped. Hilda is the best! Very charming and helpful, will stay here again when I return! Gratitude!

  • My mother and I stayed at Hilda's absolutely cheerful studio over Mother's Day Weekend. It is a fantastic little place. It is surrounded by beautiful places to walk and it is not too far from the town center in Cos Cob. It was quite easy for my mom and I to drive to Greenwich, CT to check out the shops and area. I would recommend checking out her little studio if you are looking for a nice getaway!

    Cara2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Hilda's studio was exceptional. Hilda was a gracious host, the studio was conveniently located and very well maintained. The studio was both quiet and private - which provided for restful sleep but also close to major highways and restaurants. This was my first Airbnb experience, and it would be hard to improve on the experience I had.

    Marlene2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This location is very safe and beautiful with a nature preserve across the street. Hilda is very respectful of your space and privacy. Also you can walk to shops and restaurants nearby. I would definitely rent from her again : )

    Christina2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hilda and her husband provide guests with a comfortable, peaceful place backing up to a lovely garden. This was a second stay, so no surprises. Love the residential setting across the street from the nature preserve. Kitchenette adequate but a microwave would make it more hospitable. Thanks for another good stay!

    Kathleen B2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Hilda was amazing - so welcoming and warm. I stayed for almost 2 months and the apt, location and feel made me feel at home. I could not recommend staying here more - across the street is an amazing nature preserve and a short walk to restaurants and a great fish shop and butcher which make amazing fish & chips and burgers - could eat there every day!!

  • This location was perfect for a quiet little vacation for my husband and I. Mary could not have been nicer and was very accommodating to our requests. The view off the back dock is spectacular and even more so at sunset. The house had everything we needed from Internet and cable to a working kitchen. The bedrooms are clean and beds comfortable. The backyard is very nice and there was even a kayak to take out on the water.

    Jennifer2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house. Right on the water! Mary was very helpful with local tips. Kids had a blast kayaking on the water. Wish we had more time to spend there.

  • Mary's cottage has very comfortable accommodations, beautiful sunset views over the river, easy access to everything we wanted and is a quiet place to relax. Sherrie met us at checkin to answer any questions we had and welcome us to the cottage. We didn't make use of the game room but on a rainy day it would provide some entertainment.

    Aleck2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very family-friendly. Good location for getting to downtown Greenwich and quickly getting on the freeway. Quiet neighborhood and lovely view sitting on the dock by the water. Nice new kitchen and all the appliances to make you feel at home. I would stay there again in my future visits.

  • For the money for one of us to stay in the Sheraton, all three of us got to stay in a beautiful lakeside property run by the delightful Mary. The perfect place to relax after work, with the sun setting directly opposite the lake from our garden. Mary responded and provided everything we requested (an Iron and a fan) and was a joy to talk to when she came round. We're looking forward to spending more time here in the future.

  • Stan was the perfect host. The house is really beautiful and well equipped. The location is super convenient and the neighborhood is quiet. The downstairs play room was perfect for our kids. We had a fabulous time and would definitely like to stay again.

  • Stan and Bunny had a beautiful home! They met us right away and provided us a walk through their home to explain the "how-to" on everything. There was more then enough room for my whole family (total of 5 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 six-year-old) to fit comfortably. The home was located 1 block from the main road and less than a mile away from the train station, which added convenience for our many travels to NYC and Greenwich/Stamford. There were many times that the whole family set in the kitchen and talked after a long day of travels. We felt like we were right at home. I will definitely contact Stan and Bunny on our next trip! Their home was just what my family needed to make our trip to the East Coast that much better!

  • We had a great stay at Stan's house. Prior to stay Stan was very quick to communicate and made the process easy. We travelled from far and Stan was very flexible with meeting us on arrival. The house was clean, organized and Stan made sure we knew all we needed to. The house itself is comfortable, and easily accommodated my family of 6 people. The yard is usable and quiet. Thank you Stan for a great stay!

Sun Filled Glass House Overlooking River: fast Internet, glamping in style. Perfect for 1-2 people visiting NYC. Easy 40 ft walk to waterfront kayaks/paddle board. Easy off street parking. 2 miles to train, ocean view, & Greenwich restaurants. Airbnb earnings support Burleson Inst. research & you may be able to deduct taxes for contrib. to our 501(c)3 nonprofit.
**As featured in CT News: Unique Places to Stay in CT** This great river front glass house lives on our nearly one acre organic maple grove forest and fledgling chutney orchard. We enjoy kayaking and swimming in the river. Checkin is at 3pm (not 3-5) given our many institute responsibilities. Please email us and coordinate arrival well ahead of time if you would like is to greet you in person. Otherwise, just let us know if you are happy to find things on your own and cross paths with us as each of our schedules overlap. We do not have the capacity to wait onsite for hours. This is a smoke/alcohol free property -- both inside and outside. Daily hiking and swimming at base camp inspire us to do extensive outreach in our areas of humanitarian and climate coordination globally. We find Cos Cob a wonderful place from which to mix all of these experiences together. We have been known to muck out to the far reaches of the beach for shell fish then dash home to put on suits to attend heads of state negotiations at the United Nations. Feel free to meditate along the riverbank or day trip up and down the coast. A companion Riverview listing is occasionally available when the Cozy Glass House is closed for the cooler season. The plants migrate into our greenhouse/glass house attached to our 250 year old house. Both listings offer sunset paddling as well as hilltop views over the top of an evolving organic veg/fruit/herb garden to the 52 acre river beyond. Airbnb earnings provide support for the ongoing water-energy research underway at the Burleson Institute. As a result, guests may engage with the river at the same time as be able to deduct taxes for contributing to our 501(c)3 educational nonprofit. Come to this gracious home on a peaceful, spacious property that is convenient to a wide range of ways to spend your time. In addition to easy access to NCY by train, we are a 25 minute drive from tours of the famous Philip Johnson Glass House. Ours differs in style and prestige being a Junior Victorian, actively used, greenhouse. We love sharing our waterfront access to a very special river. The nearby Mianus River Gorge is the first piece of land ever set aside by the Nature Conservancy. The next stretch of water is owned by the water company and well preserved from regional development. We benefit from being able to wander out the backdoor and walk down a 2-minute path to our dock where we spend many afternoons kayaking down to where the river opens into Cos Cob's harbor on the Long Island Sound. The wildlife benefits from an aquatic habitat that qualifies as backup drinking water and that features a fish ladder at the edge of the small hydro dam that helped power train transport to and from NYC. Herons and other shore birds often sit on the dam to fish for dinner. We cross country ski and skate the river (chatting with ice fishermen) and surrounding woods in the winter and into the spring. The glass house is perched atop a glacial erratic rock garden that marks the end of the last ice age. We love these stone outcroppings of standing stones and all the literarily lore that comes with ancient rock. While the house is a 250-year-old barn used to bring potatoes by boat to New Amsterdam, the glass house is a cosmopolitan newly renovated retreat that is wonderful for one or two people. We offer a contemporary solar powered 8 x 10 glass green house with sliding glass door and rainfed/heirloom gardens. We tap our maple trees and can offer solar maple scones on some weekends. Guests have access to a full bed, camp chairs, extra light weight screens tucked under shelf if privacy is preferable to a clear view, solar powered, electric outlet that can run heater/fan, Internet, fridge access, and French press coffee maker that can also be used for tea. Water is from the river (via the water companies state of the art purification process). We bring this water up to the glass house from the main house. This is our town water supplied water. The hilltop pebble patio area features patio chairs and an outdoor historic stone fireplace suited to making pizza. Feel free to use a few of our heirloom garden herbs. Please bring your own picnic supplies and pack out your trash. The neighboring houses are well within view and there are one or two renovations underway in the neighborhood. If coming from city life it is very rustic. If coming from wilderness it may seem urban. We find that kayaking within 35 miles from all that NYC has to offer a real treat that mixes cultural and environmental interests. We have a wide array of books if you would like to relax on the hilltop. We can offer a days worth of coffee, tea, honey, and very occasionally a few staples if you arrive late and have not had an opportunity to buy food. We are easy going, kind people who would like to make sure you feel welcome and cared for in what has been for us a wonderful place to feel peaceful. We write and curate rotating water, energy, climate Institute expos on behalf of our nonprofit Burleson Institute. We also gather information on watershed wildlife and contribute to Cornell's northeast bird count. Feel free to get involved. By volunteering with the wildlife citizens science service learning and staying in the glass house as guests, you can help advance our institute's energy-climate-water network of evolving best practices. Our neighborhood is not free from lawn services using mowers but it often is a tranquil get-away while also offering a trampoline from which to explore foodie and cultural options galore with substantial boating, hiking, fishing, etc. Our front step is a historic mill stone and our rooms within offer an eclectic array of artwork, instruments, and much loved multi-media research library encompassing: naturalist, international law, and innovative ways to respond effectively and equitably to the pressing issues of our era. We consider one or two members of our wildlife community semi-wild pets given their peaceful presence in our backyard. Peter and Ben Bunny can often be spotted chomping on grass out back. Wild turkeys, Blue Herons and Egrets take refuge at our dock as do migrating families of ducks. Baby ducklings and swan signets are common in the late spring and summer. Turtles can be seen sunning themselves on rocks and logs until the river freezes and makes way for cross country skiers, skaters, and ice fishermen. Enjoy our solar loft library including great artwork, books, instruments from around the world, and music recordings. David is fluent in Spanish and Betsy creatively conversant. Shopping for groceries ranges from a Shop and Stop 2 miles away to Trader Joe's, Fairway, and Whole Foods within 10 miles. The town excels at offering foodies an exquisite range of culinary opportunities. We would be happy to share our favorites (a seafood restaurant around the corner from the Norwalk Maritime Center where we like to see the latest Imax film). We also like picking up famous CT pizza from Pizza Post (better than Mystic Pizza) and having picnics at the beach. Folks have been enjoying the Little Pub, Mumbai Times, Louie's, Thai Basil Restaurant, Meli-Melo, Kumo, and Versailles. Crossing over to the NY Historic Hudson Valley or hop a train into NYC changes the flavor of the culinary and cultural offerings. We often prefer to experiment with our CSA organic veg box by making stews, chilies, chowders, gazpacho and the like. Our maple syrup cookbook is expanding into a solar cookbook and international cookbook... all still evolving. The glass house features a solar cooker for you to have fun with if the weather permits. Given our latitude, solar power is unlikely to be a main course option. Alternatively, you can bring back goodies and store them in the solar powered fridge. Backup house power is also available for the boat batteries that run the hilltop amenities. For anyone who lived through Superstorm Sandy, Katrina or their siblings, we seek to offer hands on innovation opportunities with resilience resources. Solar power has cut our electric bill in halve and a separate off grid array allows solar glass house guests a unique glamping experience. Enjoy the Greenwich downtown pedestrian marketplace with outside eateries, interesting shops, and a small farmer's market on Saturdays until 1 pm (other towns in the area have farmer's market days throughout the week). There are many fine restaurants to choose from, and enjoy NYC's vibrant arts scene, with museums, galleries, and dozens of music and performances daily. There are very few places to stay in the area that have the rare combination of kayaking / paddle boarding off a waterfront dock in the backyard as well as easy train access into NYC and a cozy comfy bed at a reasonable cost. Plush bedding and fluffy spa towels allow guests to have a soft energy footprint in style.
Relax and unwind in this back bank river hideaway. Quiet, family-friendly neighborhood, where folks walk dogs, jog, etc. I love the neighborhood as it is walking distance to wooded parks with extensive trails for hiking, cycling, and cross country skiing. The river is stocked with trout and many wading fly fishermen brave the chilly Feb. waters in late winter/early spring. This extensive forested trail system encompasses over 300 acres of woods. You would not know that you are 30 miles from the heart of NYC. Coastal views can be enjoyed at the Cos Cob Park year round and with open access to Greenwich beach in the winter and access with purchased day passes in the summer. We often have some of these passes available at the house for the town for $7. Greenwich does require a car sticker ($35) for Todd's Point (we have not purchased any of these but sometimes can offer a one way ride and a taxi can shuttle the other direction). Alternatively, the ferry to Island Beach is roughly $15 in addition to the $7 guest day pass. Other than the peak summer months the Todd's Point Beach is open to the general public for free. Stunning sunsets over Long Island Sound can be enjoyed while picnicking out at the beach or from the free Cos Cob Harbor Park (behind the Cos Cob Train Station). Many folks dock boats in Cos Cob Harbor, both seasonally and as they rock hop up and down the Atlantic Coast. Cos Cob's artisan: fish shop, cheese shop, smoothie shop, tea house, farmers market and quiet historic neighborhood streets allow for a peaceful yet cosmopolitan get away without a substantial trek from regional hubs. The town celebrated its 375th year in 2015 and has several revolutionary era museums including the Bush-Holly House and Putnam Cottage. Science and art exhibits can be viewed at our Bruce Museum and National Audubon Center as well as in NYC (my favorite is the Frick collection of Dutch art for its use of light and contrast). Visitors often alternate days in the big apple with relaxing seafood forays up the Connecticut coast, stopping at the Norwalk Maritime Center (URL HIDDEN) to see marine life of Long Island Sound, including loggerhead turtles, sea horses, tiger sharks, and harbor seals (smaller but better than Mystic!) A ferry ride can take visitors to tour a historic lighthouse. In addition to Native American, naturalist, maritime, and revolutionary / colonial cultural opportunities, this area has become a diverse cosmopolitan community (despite still calling itself a town). The students at Greenwich High School speak over 35 languages. Lonely Planet notes that the "southwestern corner of Connecticut, otherwise known as the Gold Coast, was once home to potato farmers and fishermen until 19th-century railroads brought New Yorkers north. With their blue-chip companies they transformed Fairfield County into one of the wealthiest regions in America with the affluent town of Greenwich at its heart." One of our favorite summer activities is to take a ferry out to Great Captains Island and/or Island Beach to enjoy Long Island Sound then return and kayak/swim on the Mianus River. We cross country ski and skate the river (chatting with ice fishermen) and surrounding woods in the winter and into the spring. Feel free to fold into our sustainability initiatives at our institute headquarters, meditate along the riverbank, or day trip up and down the coast.
  • Elizabeth and David were wonderful hosts! My girlfriend and I had an amazing and relaxing vacation. Their home is located conveniently near major roads while being secluded enough to really allow some R&R. Kayaking was by far one of our favorite experiences during our trip. The water is so beautiful and has a very mild current which allowed us to leisurely paddle and view the wildlife. The property is also very nice and relaxing, there is a fun hammock to read in, multiple patios/decks to sit and relax on, an anchored float platform that you can drift into the middle of the river on and lay out on. So many things to enjoy here! We visited early September, the weather was very nice and Elizabeth provided thermal blankets and a fan to help maintain an agreeable climate. Being someone who is prone to sweating easily and "like a furnace," the fan was essential for our trip. The privacy screens put a nice touch on the glass house while also reducing some of the early morning sun. My favorite part was laying down at night and watching the moonlit silhouettes and seeing the occasional firefly. The glass house itself comes fully equipped with everything that I felt was essential. Elizabeth also left some goodies and was extremely accommodating with any requests. Additionally, there is a nice shower, bathroom, and mini-fridge available for use inside their home. The only con I could think of would be that the neighboring home had some brief midmorning construction going on, but the noise was minor and brief and was negated with the ear plugs that they provided. Elizabeth was extremely hospitable and went out of her way to take care of our needs or requests. Her father, David, was a real treat. He is very bright and has an amazing life story to tell. We frequently found ourselves falling deep into conversation about his adventures, his family, and his life's work. He and Elizabeth are so inspiring, my girlfriend and I remarked to each other that we hope to live a humanitarian life with as much adventure as they have. It is rare to meet such great people and they truly made our trip a wonderful experience. Greenwich is also a neat town with dozens of fun places to eat at. Beautiful views are everywhere to be had. Stamford was fun to visit, and you have quick access to NY. I would recommend renting a car so you can adventure in New England! You will not be disappointed with the accommodations, Elizabeth and David are nice, respectful, not intrusive people. Your privacy is respected at all times. The level of interaction between host and guest is up to you. I highly recommend this accommodation for a romantic get away or for a relaxing and restorative experience. Great experience! Definitely want to come back!

  • We had such a wonderful time at the Glass House - we could not have asked for a better experience. Elizabeth and her parents were extremely welcoming, everything was clean, and the property was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for an unforgettable day/night!

  • Elizabeth and her family were very welcoming and sweet. David's poetry was inspiring to us, thanks for that! The place is beautiful. The house is right next to a river and surrounded by lots of trees. It is a really nice area. We would highly recommend this to anyone!

  • Such a beautiful spot! Elizabeth was a wonderful laid back host! Her description of the glass house and amenities are spot on so expectations were met (and exceeded)(URL HIDDEN)hope to be able to go back again!

  • A fun getaway. Elizabeth and her family made us feel very welcome. The lake is superb and sleeping under the stars is romantic. A short hop into Greenwich for excellent food. A very enjoyable experience.

  • The space was great. I did not get to meet Elizabeth, however she was quick in her text responses.

    Tomasz2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Even though my boyfriend and I were there for one night, it felt so magical, peaceful and overall memorable. Elizabeth is incredibly welcoming and the poem her dad wrote for us was the cherry on top. I look forward to returning!

    Amanda2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a wonderful host. She was truly accommodating despite being a bit busy the day I arrived. She was a pleasure to interact with, as was her mom Nan. They are a wonderful family sharing their special corner of the world. It was great to be able to kayak up and down the river and have a dip before a very peaceful sleep. You can hear road or highway noise in the distance (the sound carries up the river) but it's very low and nothing that would wake you up. The glass house itself is quite comfortable and Elizabeth has outfitted it with quite a number of cool amenities should you want to have the off the grid experience. I appreciated the snacks, fruit and coffee in the a.m. and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

  • Kathryn is a perfect host. She makes her home feel like it's your home. It's beautiful and my family enjoyed our time there.

  • The house is lovely and Kathryn is as well. If you are needing a place that feels like home this place will fit the need. House is great for multiple people but cozy and enjoyable. We hope to return next year for another stay!

  • My family was relocating to New York from overseas and we wanted to stay in a place for a few weeks that would give us the opportunity to become familiar with the Cos Con / Greenwich area. Kathryn was a great host and our stay was fantastic - home is comfortable with just about everything you would need and close to station, parks, shops, restaurants, etc. It was such a treat to be relaxed when I thought the few weeks getting settled was going to be hectic. Thank you Kathryn!

    Ahna2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the cottage was absolutely perfect! The place is very beautiful, much better than the pictures! Two floors for us with all the amenities and very tastefully decorated. The real plus was our host Kathryn, a lovely person and incredibly helpful with all the requests. She lives in the same building but magically appears when you like to see her, leaving the rest of the time all for you. She was so nice that she took us for a lovely ride of the neighborhood and even took my wife to a drawing lesson. Definitely reccomended, hope to be back soon!

  • My husband and I were looking for a centrally located, family/toddler friendly home in CT for a one month stay this summer. We used to live in the area and wanted to be close to friends and family but also to the trains to commute in to NYC during the week. This place was PERFECT! The rooms were spread out giving everyone their space-- and there was even an extra bedroom that allowed us to bring our Nanny from California for part of the stay. Kathryn was a LOVELY host-- she has truly thought of everything that could make the stay easy for her guests. She was willing to work with us creatively to make sure we had ways to get to the beach ( only for residents) and thoughtfully stocked the place with some toys and a kiddie pool in the backyard. This house is a $5 uber ride to the Cos Cob train station and a $7 one to the Greenwich train station-- a commuting dream. Really enjoyed our time here and will be back!

    Stephanie2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Kathryn's house in Cos Cob. We were there for the summer and used every piece of her amazing backyard. The house is very quaint but also extremely functional with a great kitchen a many little nooks (which your three year old loves!). We had very few issues during our stay but if anything ever came up Kathryn was very quick to respond and remedy the problem, even when she was away in Europe. I fully recommend this house and we were so sad to leave . It's perfect for young families as yo can walk into town or to the local library. Short distance to the train for commuters (walking distance). Kathryn is a wonderful woman and the house really feels like home.

  • We stayed at Katie and her mom's house for 6 nights and we had a wonderful time! The apartment is clean, tastefully decorated, has all what you need and is a short walking distance from the train station station that takes you to Grand Central in less than an hour. The apartment is perfect if you're looking for a quiet place to stay! Katie and her mom were great hosts!

  • When your husband says the only thing missing in this lovely apartment was you, my dear, that's pretty high praise. More like staying at a favorite family friend's guest cottage with it's warm, classic furnishings and artwork. Very restful and much appreciated by those of us who are weary of generic hotels. Loved being able to do food prep and keep healthy things around in well-equipped kitchen.

  • Paul and Lily are extremely welcoming and kind, and are genuinely two of the nicest people you could stay with. I stayed in their upstairs room (which is part of the main house, as opposed to the separate downstairs quarters) for almost 2 months while I was looking for an apartment in the area. My room was quiet and comfortable, and it was a great place to stay when I most needed it. Paul was also very accommodating when I needed to extend my stay a bit, which was really helpful during my apartment search. The location of their home in Greenwich is ideal and right off of I95. Overall a great experience that I recommend if you need a place to stay in Greenwich!

  • I stayed with Paul and Lily one night recently and it was perfect for what I was looking for. I was able to ride their bike all around, which made me very happy. You and one other woman have the whole basement to yourselves, with a shower and mini fridge/kitchen area and there is a back door that makes coming and going very easy. The room has excellent bright lights and a desk for working (which I did a lot of). There is a grocery store about 10-mins walking, 5-mins biking where I stocked up on fresh food to store in the fridge. Paul kindly showed me around and it was enjoyable chatting with him about the area. I could tell he had grown sons because he understood my need to easily dip in and out of the house, as needed, to take walks and bike rides or check out Old Greenwich. This is a peaceful place to stay where you will have a private room and some space to roam. If you like bike riding and the great outdoors, by far and away the best part is that you can ride to the gorgeous beach at Greenwich Point Park. This made me immensely happy and I rode around for hours in between long blocks of work. It was a pleasant early-morning walk to Metro North to seamlessly get into the city.

  • Very welcoming, responsive and helpful hosts, Paul and Lily made my stay everything I needed: durections to commuter rail; parking; a clean, homey, quiet with small kitchen for breakfast; suggested local restaurant for dinner. Beautifully established neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Great location and lovely host! This unit is on a quiet dead end street which is so peaceful, however its an easy 5-10min walk to shops, a great pub, ice creamery and more, we loved it! Augusta is so …

Kathryn is a perfect host. She makes her home feel like it's your home. It's beautiful and my family enjoyed our time there.

Very nice, cozy place. Jessica was responsive and prompt. I enjoyed looking out at the horses from the second room!
