“The Forge Restaurant is an 18th-century cut-stone building with original features, tucked away in North Meath, near the border with Cavan. The building – constructed by the Napper family of Loughcrew, Oldcastle – was a place to get your horse shod or cartwheel rimmed, and for a chat and a good old tale. It was a social centre for the community. The old Forge of yesteryear has since transformed into a place where people travel from far and wide to experience the culinary delights and warm atmosphere of one of Ireland’s top restaurants.”
