Shooting Star Barn is a converted traditional Irish threshing barn situated at the end of a private lane in a very tranquil scenic area with a stunning view of Muckish mountain - Donegals very own table top. Perfect for those seeking a secluded hideaway close to beaches, mountains, forests and stunning countryside.
The barn consists of a large open plan living area with a sofa bed, double bed and TV. There is also a games area featuring a full sized American pool table and dart board. The kitchen dining area consists of basic cooking facilities ( 2 ring hob and grilling machine), kitchen table and chairs, large fridge freezer, washing machine and all pots, pans, crockery and cutlery required to enjoy your stay – there is also a basic larder provided (condiments/tea/coffee/pasta/rice). The barn is heated by oil which is managed from our cottage adjacent to the property and there is a gas stove in the living area also provided. There is a large bathroom with shower and amenities. There is a seating and alfresco dining area out front where you can drink in the stunning view of Muckish mountain along with your favourite wine.
We love the area for its diverse scenery of mountains forests and stunning beaches which in some areas roll into one glorious afternoon walk. On our doorstep we have access to a natural turf bog with stunning walks and loads of wild life from Irish hares to golden eagles.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Barry and Roisin's place. They were really great hosts! We only wish we could have stayed longer. It was close to good shops, restaurants, and hiking. We highly recommend this as a place to stay!

    Alex2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Shooting Barn is a good starting point for exploring beautiful spots on the Atlantic Ocean such as Horn Head. Check out Patsy Dan's pub in Dunfanaghy and then drive back to the peace and quiet of Barry and Roisin's barn where you can play pool at your own table.

  • We really enjoyed ouer stay here. The pleace was specious and included everything that we needed. It offered quiet escape on ouer long trip. Great communication and very warm welcome on arrival.

  • Barry and Roisin's barn was wonderful and in such idyllic surroundings with a fab view of Muckish and other mountains! The location was stunning, so quiet, peaceful and hidden away, although still within easy reach of Creeslough, Glenveagh National Park and Dunfannaghy, by car. The hosts made us feel very welcome and we really appreciated their helpfulness to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. The barn was cosy, warm and spacious with pretty much everything you'd need. Cooking facilities were limited in the barn but for our 5 night stay the hosts provided us with a handy microwave at short notice which made food prep much easier. The chilled bottled water in the fridge was appreciated on arrival! It was great to have access to a wide film and reading choice from their large collection of dvd's, books, magazines and the large and ornate pool table and dart board was a bonus, all great additions within the barn to keep us entertained in the evenings and for when it rained! Their two cute dogs and the neighbour's friendly and relaxed labrador added a certain character to the truly Irish experience! We would definitely recommend the barn to anyone who needs a spacious and comfortable stay in a hidden corner of Creeslough within easy reach of The Downings, the mountains and Sheephaven Bay. An authentic and inspiring location and experience! Great for those seeking solitude, rest, inspiration and would make a great creative retreat.

  • Absolutely loved our stay in Barry & Roisin's barn! Such an idyllic location- remote but close to amazing places such as Glenveagh National Park and villages with restaurants and pubs, like Dunfanaghy. Barn comes with everything you could want- including an extensive DVD collection. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a break away- will be back if we are in Donegal again!

The village is home to a golf club, several art galleries and craft shops, and a museum, situated in part of a former workhouse. The village offers a golf course, a great array of dinning, part of the Wild Atlantic Way, Walks, Great Beaches Martin-Annies Cottage is in walking distance into the village. Situated on a quiet road its setting is lovely and homely where you will feel very welcomed and free to relax and enjoy your surrondings. Enjoy the outdoor space too on the patio area
I meet and greet guests where possible. Your space in each room is bright, airy, warm and homely. As this is a recent extention and refurbishment on the cottage everything is fairly new. The rooms are decorated tastefully and has all modern conveniences. One bedroom has en-suite the other has shower/bath. The beds are comfortable and all the bedding used is of a good quality for your comfort. Getting around Some form of transport is necessary to travel around Donegal.
I can recommend places to eat and the best places to walk, cycle or drive, depending on the weather & the time they have available and what is of interest to them I love the people, the coastline & mountains, the culture of music and chatting and the ever changing sky. I love the seasons, the sound and sight of lambs in the fields in springtime, and the long, long summer evenings when the nights are so short and the sunsets are really special. The rainbows and the quality of the light is wonderful in Autumn. In the summer there is always a great buzz about the village with live music in most of the bars. Tranquility can be gotten on the beaches or on scenic walks which are in abundance.
  • Lovely home, great location

  • Great, clean and spacious place to stay. Anne is very helpful and kind. We would stay there again.

    Anna2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Martin-Annies Cottage is very well located on a quiet road within easy walking distance of the bustling small town of Dunfanaghy. The accommodation is in a recently built extension to the cottage, so everything is new and fresh. It comprises a double bedrom, with en-suite shower room, and shared use (although Anne did not use it during our stay) of a well-equipped kitchen and outside patio seating area. Breakfast is not prepared for you, as in a traditional B&B. However, cereals, milk, bread, butter, condiments, tea, coffee etc were provided - which suited me and my partner perfectly (we were free to have our own timetable). Anne was very welcoming and very relaxed. For those who don't know the area there is a selection of tourist bookets, and Anne is happy to give local information. All in all, we had a good experience, and I would use Anne's place again.

    Laurence2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Ann's sweet and quirky cottage. Very peaceful location. Walking distance to the village, no need for taxis. Although I didnt meet Ann, check in was made easy and it was great to have the house to ourselves. Would highly recommend.

    Laura2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked to stay at Anne's cottage. We only had to meet her when we arrived, so showed us where we could find everything and after we had the cottage for ourself. Comfortable bed and a perfect stay when you're on the road. Not worth staying much longer if there's not much to do. We came for the scenic road which was lovely!

Something a bit different this is a unique opportunity to stay in a working Studio/Art gallery located right on the wild atlantic way. Get inspired:)
The Studio apartment located at the rear of the gallery is a cosy open plan living space with an attached small kitchen area and bathroom shower room. A small hallway leads you to the double bedroom which features a large super king size memory foam mattress for a good nights sleep. Your private decked area with seating, table and barbecue are all located within the rear garden area. Guest access is via the wooden gates between our own house and the gallery which leads to the studio apartment. Your ideally situated in lovely Portnablagh between Dunfanaghy village and Marble Hill so its a perfect base to explore the area which is currently the most happening in Donegal. As Artists we hope we can provide you with a bit of extra insight into the local beauty spots (especially the hidden ones) and give you all the info about the local eating spots and entertainment.
On your doorstep you can take a walk to the Portnablagh Pier and beach (which we've painted many times), chill out in the evening at The Cove restaurant for dinner with a view or drop in for a coffee at the Buttermilk. You can also nip over to 'The Shack' for your artisan coffee/munchies and relax out while overlooking the beach. Your located between the bustling village of Dunfanaghy in one direction and the Shandon Hotel with its leisure centre and Spa beside the famous Marble hill beach in the other. For walkers the nearby Ard's Forrest Park is excellent. You can also visit Creeslough and see the wild atlantic camp, the excellent Huckelberry Cafe or the cosy traditional Roses Bar.
  • In a perfect situation for walking, sightseeing and relaxing this beautiful studio is sparklingly clean, comfortable and peaceful. Gary and Adrienne are great hosts and ther children a delight. I loved the way the studio was designed and decorated. Ideal for a peaceful retreat, if it might chance to rain! And great place for walks or drives to the most beautiful beaches in Donegal. Enjoy!

    Jane2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Gary & Adrienne are two lovely artists (with two lovely children) who have fitted out a very nice and cosy apartment in the back of their gallery. Portnablagh is a very beautiful scenic town and is located near Dunfanaghy where you can find everything you need. Gary& Adrienne were very easy to communicate with and very friendly. It was perfect.

Traditional bungalow with a light airy extension. Panoramic views of the new lake, Tramore Beach, Hornhead & Dunfanaghy. The sky changes constantly, views from the house are breathtaking, the sunsets spectacular. You will love Donegal & it's people
We live along the Wild Atlantic Way. Errigal & Muckish mountains, Glenveagh National Park, Bloody Foreland, Hornhead, Ards Forest Park, Tramore, Killyhoey & Marble Hill beaches & Tory Island, Arranmore Island & of course the beautiful village of Dunfanaghy are all within easy reach. It's the ideal location for exploring North West Donegal
We love the people, the coastline & mountains, the culture of music and chatting and the ever changing sky. We love the seasons, the sound and sight of lambs in the fields in springtime, and the long, long summer evenings when the nights are so short and the sunsets are really special. The rainbows and the quality of the light is wonderful in Autumn. The long evenings and sitting by the warm fireside when it is blowing a storm outside in winter is also a magical experience. The horizon can light up with lightening and the crash of waves against the rocks sounds awesome. Living close to nature and experiencing it as we do here in Donegal is humbling and we appreciate life all the more for it
  • The B&B was perfect, the view was spectacular. the area is great for scenic walks along sandy beaches. the village of Dunfanaghy is a brilliant place. Eileen is very welcoming, the room is very comfortable and the night was very quiet. Brilliant stay!

    Julie2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Eileen and Neil's house outside Dunfanaghy, which is a great base for exploring the beautiful scenery of north west Donegal. Their house was clean and comfortable and we felt very much at home, especially in the little mezzanine level sitting area above the kitchen, which had a fantastic view across the bay. Neil and Eileen were very friendly without being intrusive and Neil prepared a lovely breakfast, catering for my gluten intolerance. Would definitely recommend to friends and would stay here again if in the area.

    Rosie2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • They were delightful hosts. They are a lovely couple with a lovely room and bathroom for us. The bathroom had a grand shower. The home was on the main road with a beautiful view of the ocean/new lake. They gave us great recommendations for places to go and a map so we could explore in the area. They also offered us breakfast in the mornings and were delightful to chat with. Felt much like staying with old friends. We would highly recommend this home and we hope to return again someday.

  • We spent one night at Eileen and Neil's. Wish it could have been more. They were amazing hosts, the home is lovely and the view is beyond great. Breakfast was delicious and their outdoor cat Ginger is the best. I almost stole him for myself! Their dog is also super friendly. Definitely recommend. 5 star rating.

    Quinn 2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Neil and Eileen really extended themselves to facilitate my visit. Since I had no car, they drove me from their shop to the house and back into town the next morning, even delivering my luggage to the hotel! I had a long journey from the US to get there and had a delicious sleep in the comfy bed. In the morning, I was offered a really lovely breakfast spread with Irish cheeses and ham, breads, and poached duck eggs along with some great conversation about some of the local land management and governance dynamics. What a great welcome to Ireland!

    Megan2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Eileen and Neil's home! Everything was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed very much our discussions. They provided also some advice on places to visit during our trip. Their breakfast was huge (and varied) and delicious! We clearly recommend Eileen and Neil if you're looking for a place to stay in Dunfanaghy.

    Christophe2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • I particularly enjoy the great breakfast and the local insights that Eileen and Neil share, in very casual conversation.

    Saunders2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm welcome including tea even though it was already kinda late. Delicious breakfast and perfect spot in Co. Donegal for a stop. Eileen and her husband were fantastic host :) so I can only recommend to stay at their place :)

Offered a simple breakfast that was gratefully received, although I had brought some of my own supplies too which nicely supplemented it!

  • Thomas' place was lovely ,spacious and spotlessly (URL HIDDEN) was well equipped with everything you could need for a self-catering (URL HIDDEN) it is above a supermarket there is a little noise from the cooler system which took me a little while to get used to as I am super aware of noises around me. Thomas was helpful and accomodating. He was very friendly and welcoming. The extra bits like fruit and milk were so thoughtful. The apartment is in a great position to visit all around Creeshlough itself as well as Dunfanaghy and all really beautiful places. Thanks so much Thomas and I hope to be back again soon.

  • The apartment is located in a small apartment building above and to the rear of a small commercial building. There is ready access to a restaurant and is well located if you have a car. It is a short drive from some wondrous ocean scenery as well as some very neat villages and a major town. It is roomy and well equipped and would make a great place for a small family or two couples to use as a central point for touring the area with a car.

  • Lovely cottage. Very much as per pics. Ursula is warm and welcoming, there when you need her and very discreet too. We greatly appreciated the supplies - tea, milk, butter, wine ... The location was perfect for us - a very quiet spot just outside town. Dunfanaghy is a village with great pubs, cafes and craft shops. And we loved the riding stables. A ten minute drive from the village we found a vast wild beach that we had almost to ourselves - bliss! I am sure we will be back. Thank you Ursula for a super stay at your place.

  • We stayed in the house for almost two weeks. We really loved it! It was so quiet and the view was amazing! The house had everything we needed. The website says there is no wifi but there is actually and a dvd player for rainy days. If they would have us again we would love to come back to Dunfanaghy!

  • We loved our stay at Horn Head Mews! Ursula was very welcoming and provided us great tips to the area including having coffee on the beach at Marble Hill Strand. Beautiful setting close to town and even closer to Horn Head which was wonderful to do some hiking on. The cottage was cosy and met all our needs! Loved the area.

  • Cosy and clean house. About 20 minutes stroll from main village. Ursula very good at keeping in touch and making sure we had all the information.

  • Brilliant house and Ursula is the perfect host. We stayed for 2 nights over New Years. Ursula had excellent communication with us throughout the booking and arrival process. She was waiting for us when we arrived with a prepared fire and some goodies to get the New Year started. She showed us where everything was and we knew she was on hand if we needed anything. Her husband even popped in with extra firewood and to set the heating for us. The house was cosy and inviting, with a beautiful big open plan living and dining room. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed to cook our dinner and breakfasts in. The shower had a good strong pressure and there was never a shortage of piping hot water. Its a good 15 minutes walk down into Dunfanaghy. We drove down and parked up the car in the town for the evening and walked home after a few drinks in town. Ursula was very helpful in giving advice on pubs etc in town and i would recommend Patsy Dans where we brought in New Year. In all a lovely trip, with the perfect level of hosting and privacy. Would recommend and we'll try and get back again.

A little piece of heaven in the most idyllic setting, in the heart of Donegal, in the village of Creeslough. This charming cottage offers a tranquil location set between trees and alongside a river with 1 Double and 2 twin rooms, each with their own en-suite. Our lovely continental breakfast includes homemade bread and muffins that can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors with equally lovely views. Everyone welcome!
After breakfast you can chill out with a book or enjoy the many attractions in the area.
  • A lovely B and B in a beautiful location. Denise a great host, really friendly and helpful. You can actually hear the river running behind the house as well.

    Louisa2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • River Run B&B is wonderful. We stayed for only one night, but it was, by far, one of our favorite places. Co. Donegal is beautiful and Denise's is quiet and stunning in scenery. It is clean and cozy, and the food is amazing. Denise had great recommendations and directions and was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend staying here, it is well worth it.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Riverrun. The house is clean and cozy. The host Denise was so friendly and went above and beyond in helping us with anything we needed. The healthy breakfast was amazing. We would highly recommend this beautiful B&B.

  • Fantastic little guesthouse in a fairy tale location tucked under the trees above the river. Denise was very helpful before we arrived finding us a cot for our little baby and making sure we knew where we were going. The rooms are lovely and clean and perfectly quiet. We had the place to ourselves so enjoyed a few hours chilling out on comfy sofas in the common room. The breakfast each morning was really delicious with proper coffee, homemade bread and delicious healthy breakfast (URL HIDDEN) kept us going til mid afternoon which is no mean feat for my 6 foot 2 hubby! Amazing location close to marble hill beach, dunfanaghy and fanad head for some really memorable trips. Definitely recommend, thanks Denise :)

  • RiverRun B&B is in a charmingly renovated traditional 3 room cottage. It's setting is idyllic and wonderfully quiet and peaceful. It makes an excellent base for exploring the beautiful coast and countryside. Dunfanaghy is an easy drive and offers lots of options for eating and drinking. Denise is a brilliant host - warmly welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We loved the fresh fruit and home baked bread and muffins for breakfast. We had a great stay here and a great time in Donegal.

The house is on two levels with bedroom upstairs and kitchen/living/bathroom downstairs, very clean and well equipped. Margaret was lovely. I'd stay here again.

  • Really loved this superb and convenient accommodation located just off the main road -Dunfanaghy just a short distance away. Our host, Margaret was warm and friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

    Claire2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret was able to accommodate us with very short notice and we were extremely pleased with our last minute booking. We have two toddlers and the upstairs loft bedroom was big enough to accommodate us on the wonderful king bed (best sleep I have had in forever!) and the boys in two separate cots (we brought one & Margaret supplied the other) with room to spare. Everything was tidy & well presented, and we enjoyed the view.

    Natalie2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was lovely! The host was very accommodating and the shower @ general appearance was great ! And it's handy to a local harbour and has a great coffee shop come art gallery beside it

    Anthony2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my boyfriend recently spent 4 nights in Margaret's place over the Easter weekend. Margaret was a pleasure to deal with right from the booking stages up to check out and was always quick to reply to my emails if I had any questions. The accommodation is great for a couple and provides more than enough room and everything you could need for a short stay. The view from the apartment is beautiful as it overlooks the golf club and the beach which is a short drive away. The apartment is about 2km or a 25 min stroll from the bustling village of Dunfanaghy or if you don't fancy walking, Margaret was able to provide a number to a local taxi. The area surrounding the apartment is fantastic and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. I wouldn't hesitate in staying with Margaret again or recommending to friends.

  • Was only here for a day but everything was perfect and Margaret was a wonderful host

    Joe2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and a fully equipped. We travelled with a 17 month old toddler, Margaret provided a cot and high chair as well as a few toys. We will definitely be back. Communication was easy and the views are fabulous. We saw horses on the beach in the early morning from the window. Highly recommend this accommodation.

The bus from Dublin and Belfast stop in front of the house. The supermarket is 1 min walk away. You have a private entrance to the house and full access to our lovely garden. We're passionate about the outdoors and ocean and run the surf school "Narosa" just next door.

  • Really lovely home with everything you might need during a stay, and in a great location. The view from the back of the house is gorgeous. My son especially loved the Thomas track in 'his room'! Very easy to find and access the house, and it was spotlessly clean. We were lucky to have amazing weather so were able to enjoy the fab beaches at Dunfanaghy & Tramore. A great house in a great location!

  • We have recently returned from a fantastic week in Dunfanaghy and thoroughly enjoyed staying in Jeff and Sarah's home. It was lovely, bright and spacious with beautiful views of the new lake. I've been spending family holidays in Dunfanaghy since I was a child and this was one of the nicest places we've stayed. Thanks to Jeff and Sarah for being such great hosts.

  • We had a lovely few days here. Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness upon arrival, really appreciated it and it went down well :) Would highly recommend; very close to the town and after a day in the water, we chilled out in front of the TV in the house which was ideal. We didn't need to light the fire as it was still pretty warm but great to have the option. Thanks

  • Jeff and Sarah's house in Dunfanaghy is just great. It is a perfect location just a few minutes walk from the main square & shops, a few minutes cycle from a couple of nice beaches. It is just a great and comfortable home with everything you need for a week or a week end. The patio at the back is just a brilliant place to end the day with a glass of wine. The house is set in a nice quiet area as well so you'll have no problem catching up on your sleep after a busy day at the beach or cycling around - it can get hilly though. Jeff was just extremely helpful with every aspect of the booking and the house itself. Lots of nice touches to ensure I have a nice week end. I have already recommended this house to friends.

My place is close to the beach, great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, the outdoors space, the views, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
  • WOW, a very special peaceful place- a gorgeous very spacious yet cosy and comfortable home with the most amazing sea/ countryside views from every room! ( lovely with glass of wine watching the sun set over Tramore beach) Set well back from the main road with a very secure child/ dog friendly garden! Well equipped for all our needs and beautifully decorated throughout, Anne-Marie has put such thought into ensuring the comfort of her guests with little touches like extra fleecy blankets, patio furniture and even kites/ racquets for the beach and a recipe for Irish coffee on the wall! Anne-Marie gave great advice on beaches and places to eat. The stunning long white sandy Tramore beach is just around the corner loved by our border collie Milo! Recommend the bar food and Guinness in Glen and tearoom next door for baked potatoes and delicious cakes! Cafe near the Centra does great breakfast baps and barista coffee! Definitely would love to return.

  • The location for this house is great, really close to the town centre. Dunfanaghy is fantastic, really vibrant and lots of good places to eat and drink. We loved the pizzas from the Rusty Oven! The house is fairly basic and a bit tired, but has everything you need for a short break. We stayed a week, and there were a few things we were missing by the end (no freezer compartment in the fridge, nowhere to hang wet clothes, no microwave etc). The blinds are quite thin so you might want a sleep mask or portable blackout blind. The bath started leaking during our stay and although we reported it, no one came to look/fix it. Not the end of the world but did mean we had to clear up a puddle at the bottom of the stairs after every bath which was a bit irritating. Having said all that, we'd probably still go again because the location is so central!

    Anna2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • On arriving we were welcomed by the lovely Eileen who introduced us to our cosy and peaceful home for three days. A well equipped house with lots of room. They went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. The bedroom was immaculate and had a lovely view, and the separate bathroom was for our own use and was also pristine. Close to all tourist attractions and local towns, could do with a microwave and toaster (just my opinion)lol maybe more towels supplied or advised to bring your own, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to any person wanting to get away from the fast pace of life and chill oh and great for your pets ps local farmers and people very welcoming and friendly Dand K plus doggie

  • Lovely and remote cottage with bog-turf-burning stove. Don't expect your GPS to be able to locate the cottage; there no need for that, though, as the hosts generously come to guide you to it.

    Johh2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a quiet get away break with some beautiful surroundings and nice walkways within a short distance from your door.

  • super cottage just where we needed to be

    malcolm2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for a quiet stay in the country. It has all the basic amenities and gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape. It's a short drive from Dunfanaghy and not too far from Glenveagh and other sites. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to get away from the busy resort towns, and doesn't mind disconnecting from TV and the Internet for a few days.

    Carly2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 2 nights in this amazing little cottage, it was very clean and the owners had a fire lit for our arrival. The hosts were welcoming and had lots of information on things to do in the local area. The cottage is in a stunning rural location it is very peaceful with amazing views.

    Patricia2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage in remote Donegal was everything we wanted! Located in the stunning countryside, the cottage was little but beautiful and so atmospheric. We took our 3 year old son with us who slept in a pull out bed in the living area. The host who met us promptly on arrival brought him a bed clothes and kindly offered toys for him too. Romantic fire place, comfortable bedroom and lovely surroundings - we even picked blackberries for breakfast both mornings. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again for sure! Thank you hosts for this wonderful experience!

    Orla2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Mary was so good and had the fire on for our arrival. She also kindly met us on the main road. She is also very knowledgable with all the local events taking place. The cottage was gorgeous cooking with facilities and very spacious. In a lovely quiet rural area. Milk tea bags and coffee kindly provided as well as fresh towels and some shower gels. We would definitely stay again. Perfect for exploring Donegal. Thank you x

My apartment is very cosy, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the panoramic views of Hornhead,Portnablagh, killyhoey beach and the local town of Dunfanaghy. Views from the balcony are breathtaking, the sunsets behind Horn Head are spectacular. Dunfanghy is a busy little town with lovely cafes and traditional Irish pubs. The perfect stop for your wild atlantic way needs The apartment is shared with other Air b&b guests including myself.
  • Aidan is a very friendy host. Even offered us a lift into town so we could have a drink. The room is just big enough for two, but not for a long stay. We stayed one night. The view from his balcony is indeed great, provided that the weather is good. There's more than enough parking space and there's a nice coffee bar/restaurant a across the appartment called "Buttermilk". Aidan has toast and coffee in the morning. Don't expect a huge breakfast.

    Stefan2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view from the living room balcony but a few miles from dunfanaghy

    Paula2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cosy relaxed apartment with beautiful views. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need to make yourself at home. Aidan was lovely and very helpful and let us stay at (very) short notice and even got his mother to come round and leave out towels for us as he wasn't there. The location is a short walk away from the beach and Dunfanaghy village. Overall great value for money and would definitely stay at Aidans apartment again!

    Nicole2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really glad Aidan was able to accommodate us at such a last minute - a friend and I were doing a short coastal road trip and found this listing about 24h before we set off. His apartment is a couple minutes drive from Dunfanaghy and with his instructions, we had no trouble finding the place and picking up the keys. Our room had 2 twin beds and not very much room but it suited our purpose of running about all day and coming back to crash. Simple breakfast items were provided and were very sufficient. Everything was nice and clean. We bumped into Aidan and hi how are you turned into a couple of hours of conversation! He's lovely and also had some great recommendations for around the area. Would love to stay again!

    Jo2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great choice for staying in Dunfanaghy, Portnabla or anywhere nearby. Really nice apartment, great views, comfy beds but above all Aidan is a great help - fantastic communication from booking right through, always happy to help and easy to get along with. Super Air BnB'Er. Made our stay so easy. Really appreciate it, thank you.

  • Apartment wasn't clean, room wasn't ready, no information given about breakfast or the area. No one there to meet us. Hope all is rectified for the next guest. Very disappointed

  • We spend two nights at Aidans  apartment and we're able to enjoy time alone but also had a nice dinner with Aidan and a lovely conversation. He is very sweet and helpful, gave advice when needed. Hope to see him again.

    Lena2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in Aidan's. Flat was spotless, the view was sensational and Aidan was a great help. He was quick to respond and helped us out with a few suggestion for places to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend his place and will be back soon!

  • Anthony (Tony) made us very welcome on arrival and helped bring our gear to our room upstairs and show us around. After a cup of tea we were on our way to a local hotel suggested by Tony and what a great night of Irish song and music. Our host is a great conversationalist and we cover a lot of interesting subject well into the night. Our breakfasts were well catered and even got Tony to try a little of good old Australian Vegemite on toast. Accommodation was as per Airbnb site info was clean and comfortable.

The accommodation was very good and great value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone, and stay with Anthony again when we return to Donegal.

  • Anthony was a wonderful host, knowledgeable about his area and nice to talk to. His house feels like a brand-new one and is clean and quietly situated. It was easy to reach Horn's Head and the Ards Peninsula on public transport and hike there.

The cottage has been refurbished and is comfortable, light, homely and tastefully decorated. No need to bring the car as its only a 5 min walk into the village where there is a good selection of eateries and bars. The local area offers a stunning beach, golf course, various water activities and other places of beauty close bay.
With two double bedrooms and one single. It is both suitable for families and groups of friends up to 5 persons
Tranquillity can be gotten on the beaches or on scenic walks which are in abundance

  • The cottage was perfect, the fire was lit for our arrival to make the living room all cosy. The booklet of information helped us to work out which walks to do and where best to go. There is so much to do close by, beaches, forests, nice little villages. Would recommend to anyone, lots of space in the cottage with 3 bedrooms all spread out. The Wi-Fi worked well. Tip- you need exactly 5 euros in change for the closest park 'Arc'

  • We absolutely loved our stay in the cottage. It's surrounded by amazing scenery, both close by and a little distance away and this provides opportunities for numerous outdoor activities. The cottage is warm and cosy with super comfortable beds. The fireplace really adds to the charm of the place, especially on rainy days when you need to warm yourself quickly and get your clothes dry. The cottage is very well-equipped and has everything that you need. I hope to be back here one day as it's one of the nicest places I've ever stayed in. I would definitively recommend staying at Denis's cottage!

A newly renovated cottage in rural Donegal. The cottage has 3 bedrooms with 2 double beds, a bunk bed (double below & single above) and single bed on a mezzanine level. There is enough space to happily sleep 8. Modern fully equipped kitchen. One shower room and one en-suite shower room. Nearest villages are Creeslough 3 miles and Dunfanaghy 5 miles. Please note cottage is located near Creeslough. NOT to be confused with Carrownamaddy near Burt.
Glorious views of Ards Forest Park, Ards Estuary and Downings.
The cottage is a former farmhouse and the farm is accessible for a nice walk with suitable foot wear. Muckish mountain, Ards Forest Park, Marble Hill Strand are all located within a 10 minute drive. Glenveagh is a 15-20 minute drive. McCarrys Bar is a 30 minute walk away.
  • Secluded, but within a short drive from Cresslough and Dunfanaghy. Would not hesitate to visit again given the opportunity

The house is spacious and has a lovely conservatory perfect for morning coffee or evening drink. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and we had long , big breakfasts at the dining table with sea views. Briege is extremely helpful and quick to respond to any queries I had. We were a group of 5 and this house suited us very well for our trip to Donegal

  • Great location, a short walk to the town pier, and short walk or drive to town. 20 minutes to Glenveagh National Park. The house is an end townhouse attached to others, and we had the pleasure of meeting Mary, a neighbor who provided the key and quick overview of the town.

  • Good location. Spacious living area. Comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend.

    Sarah2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The property was a good size and was clean and comfortable. I did not expect it to be part of a group of townhouses and had presumed it was a little more secluded than it turned out to be. Briege was very attentive and communicative in the lead up to my stay. Unfortunately I arrived and there was no wifi as no credit had been loaded against the account. It took a day to sort and even then it was of a poor standard in receiving and accessing data. Despite the Airbnb site stating I would have access to a house manual and contact there was no such contact, no manual and no toilet paper in any part of the property. As a result I had to just find out things as I went. There also was a discrepancy with heating as a number of Windows downstairs didn't seal properly so heating needed to be quite high to warm downstairs which unfortunately made upstairs very hot. I left the property early as it was not the experience I had hoped for.
