  • The hype is justified. A fantastic place, I’m just sad we had to leave! Charlotte, you are truly a superhost.

  • Had such a lovely time at the HMS Owl. Charlotte & Justin were fab hosts who made us feel very welcome. The bread, cakes & wine were such a lovely extra special touch too! Our dog loved every minute of being in the country. We will be recommending to friends :)

  • It’s beautiful and stylish, but also cosy and practical. If the weather is bad you could happily hole up here for days. If you’re up this way, you should definitely try and book. Lovely hosts too.

  • Lovely quirky accomodation with the most attentive hosts. We arrived to a lovely cosy hut with the log burner in full swing. We were treated to the most delicious home bakes and the hot tub under the stars is highly recommended. What's not to love? Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We'll be recommending you to family and friends :)

    Kerry2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t say enough good things about Charlotte’s place. Amazing communication from first contact and a warm welcome, with a roaring fire waiting for us. The place is so creative and stylish but also really comfortable and unique. Comfy bed, great linens, excellent soaps and such. The pictures are accurate but can’t really capture how special it is. Anything you could think to want was there, with thoughtful and fun touches everywhere. Be sure to book the wood-fired hot tub - we had and amazingly clear night under the stars. Don’t hesitate!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Nissen. It’s a great place and perfect for cosying up after a day out and about exploring. The host Charlotte made us feel very welcome and was quick to respond to any messages before and during our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here

    Caroline2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Nissen is by far the best air bnb we have had the pleasure of staying at. The space is stunningly stylish, full of amazing little touches and perfect for cozying up after exploring the Black Isle. Charlotte is the perfect host, available if you need help but also quite content to just let you enjoy the peace and quiet the location affords you. With the added bonus of some delicious home baked treats and cute animals to hang out with. We will definitely be back!

Return from woodland and coastal walks to an 1850s cottage which still retains many original features, including decorative fireplaces. Daily fresh eggs from the farm in an interior of delicate pastel and floral notes, plus Caledonian artefacts.
As the name suggests this cottage was previously used as dairy on the family farm in years gone by. The house was built in the 1850's, the first house on the farm as it is now. The cottage was also known as Grieves House and was home to the Manager of Dalmore Distillery years and years ago.
Dalmore Farm is in a quiet location on the edge of Alness, a busy town which in 2018 won the title of Best High Street in Scotland. Set on the shore of the Cromarty Firth, this makes an ideal base for exploring Easter Ross and the Northern Highlands.
  • We had such a wonderful stay at Carolyn’s place. It was so cozy and comfortable and every one in our party thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had everything you could want including fresh eggs, milk and bread for breakfast. I highly recommend Carolyn’s place to anyone. She is a gracious host.

    Kim2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a great place for us to rest after traveling for a few weeks with our three boys. It has been highly and very thoughtfully put together with everything thought of for you to have a relaxing stay. The welcome pack was perfect thankyou for sharing this lovely cottage.

    Vanessa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great host & great accommodation - We have stayed at Carolyn's place a few times now while working in the area. Recommend to others.

    Brogan2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's place is indeed the best Airbnb house I stayed so far ! I fell in love with every corner of the house which has been decorated so beautifully with pastel colors I love. The farmhouse is so beautiful and luxurious. The host is so kind to provide us with a basket full of fresh fruits, the fridge full of food- yogurt, juices, milk, carrot cakes, bread, a basket full of eggs!.. oh my god so nice. 6 out of 5 stars for Carolyn and her place!

    Wardah2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn’s cottage was absolutely perfect! There is not a single thing I could fault. It was super clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was great. There was lots of space and lots of extra touches that just made everything perfect. Carolyn met us at the cottage to explain everything and she was lovely. We had fresh milk, bread, fruit and even a wee cake on our arrival. The fresh eggs from the chickens that are all around the cottage were the best I’ve tasted. The board games in the sitting room were perfect for that quiet family night in. It really was just in all the little details. Perfect stay!!

    Charlene2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • Loved our stay at Red Gates! Beautiful house in peaceful location. Loved the Christmas tree, fire, comfortable beds and decor. Enjoyed looking at the before and after pictures in the book. Everything’s been completed to a very high standard and the welcome basket was a nice touch. We’d love to come back in the future!

  • It was such an amazing stay that we were a bit sad on the day of our departure. The place was sparkling clean when we arrived and gave such a homey feel. All the facilities ran well including our personal favorite, the amazing fireplace.

    Hartono2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning!

    Barb2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional house in beautifully renovated courtyard. The decor and finishes are first class and all of the upgrades are sympathetically executed. Lovely!

    David2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our four night stay at Red Gates and wished we had stayed longer! It is beautifully done; from the thoughtful restoration, to the lovely furnishings. We loved all the space and the quiet location. It was fantastic to have separate washer & dryer as opposed to the two-in-one units that are so prevalent. Highly recommended & one of our favorite Airbnb’s! Thank you Rebecca!

    Lynn2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Red Gates is a warm, inviting newly renovated carriage house nestled in the gorgeous farmlands of Balblair. Perfect for families exploring the Inverness area by car, easy to reach Loch Ness in under 30 mins. Clean and new, spacious rooms and a backyard of sheep to greet your arrival. If you are looking for your own private estate- this is the place. Highly recommended!

    John2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Red Gates. It is stunning house in a very pretty and tranquil setting. Everything is finished to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. Rebecca was a very attentive host who responded very quickly to any enquiries that we had. We would happily stay again and highly recommend!

  • We stayed with John and his dog Jake for three days and it was great. John is a great host, he took a lot of time for us and gave us really great tips. Our visit with him was a great way to get to know not only the country but also people.

    Tanja2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • John is a perfect host, he welcomed us like family and we had a pleasant conversation with him, in the company of the faithful Jake, very nice "furry" at home. Thanks to his advice we were able to continue our itinerary of visits. Thanks for everything, John!

    Cinzia2019-09-05T00:00:00Z

  • Warm and personalized welcome. Interesting step on the Highland Road. A good breakfast.

    Christian2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming, friendly and jovial, John is a fabulous host. He even tried (and succeeded) to speak the language of Molière. He left us his home as if we were family. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. When we woke up, breakfast was ready. Perfect

    Didier2019-08-17T00:00:00Z

  • What a wonderful little piece of paradise. This space is cozy and comfortable. It had everything I needed for a one week stay which I then extended to two because I couldn’t bear to leave. You’re across the street from the ocean. There are two restaurants across the other way. Easy walking distance to everything else you might need. Reliable bus transportation to surrounding towns and Inverness. I would not hesitate to recommend Caroline’s place to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday in Cromarty.

    Dodie2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Although the garden room is small it has everything you will need. It is right on the harbour so the views across Cromarty Firth are amazing. If you are looking for something to eat I cannot recommend Sutor Creek which is across the road, great food and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

    Zoey2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s little chateau is a delightful little stand alone cottage that provides a great little home base from which to explore lovely Cromarty. It has everything you need to cook meals, to sleep-in all cuddled up in a comfy bed with electric fireplace going, and listen to the sea birds in the harbor. You can walk to anywhere in town easily and the price can’t be beat. Caroline is a great host, very welcoming and concerned for your comfort. And Cromarty is the sweetest town ever with lots of lovely beach walks. Driving through the fields and along the Firth is one of my highlights every time I visit. Highly recommend!

  • A wonderful place to travel to less touristy areas of Scotland, as well as a very nice and lovingly and tastefully furnished cottage. We felt very comfortable.

    Ulrich2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful wee spot! A very well equipped cottage tastefully decorated, keeping the spirit of the old building. For such a wee place Cromarty has some great spots all in easy walking distance.

  • The Cottage is a wonderful place to go on a peaceful and relaxing vacation. A little tip for winter corridor: you have in between the stove tidy einheizen so it is warm because the heating was programmed so that it only three times a day was concerned. Unfortunately, it was characterized in the times between relatively quickly cold in all rooms. But it is definitely worth a visit!

    Sara2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The room was well decorated and pretty. Emma gave us good tips. The place has everything it needs to live (nice people, good bakery, very good café to eat, sea, dolphins ...)

    Daniela2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Emma had everything prepared beautifully even though she herself could not be there. Her lovely home felt very warm and homely and her very friendly dog Duki was there to welcome us. Emma's house is very well positioned with a bakery just across the road, but also very quiet, despite sitting on a crossing. It was our first time on the Black Isle and Cromarty and we were quite taken how beautiful the villages are. Cromarty is well worth a visit and Emma's home is a lovely place to stay.

    Sylvia2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s cottage couldn’t be more central. It’s situated right at the heart of this delightful tiny town, with a superb bakery opposite where breakfast pastries and pies can be purchased, and cafes, pubs and an excellent restaurant literally a minute away. My room was well-furnished, spick and span, overlooking a quiet street, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Emma is kind and helpful, and gave me a glimpse of her work as a glass artist. I stayed a week and would do so again with pleasure. Cromarty is a very special place.

    Nicholas2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Emma was a great host. She greeted us at the property and gave us a tour. The room was beautiful and comfortable with tea. She was kind enough to let us use her laundry as we had been biking for days. Her house is centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere but didn’t get to explore much because of the rain. I would definitely recommend Emma’s place

  • Fiona's home is a wonderful place to stay in. It is a beautiful house with outstanding views over the Cromerty Firth. We had an extremely well appointed room and a fabulous breakfast with an excellent selection of fruits and cereals on the sideboard served in lovely locally made pottery bowls in a really attractive dining room. Fiona also makes homemade jams, chutneys, soap and lampshades for sale. I really don't know how she has time for all this well as being such a great host. We would definitely come back should we be in this area again.

  • The double room reserved for Airbnb customers was as described, fairly compact, but perfectly formed, with plenty of space the two of us and our luggage. A view out to the Cromarty Firth and use of a delightful sitting room. Breakfast was delicious.

    Patricia2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed there for one night as part of our journey around Scotland. The B&B is on the outscirts of the lovely fishing village Cromarty where you can find some restaurants in walking distance. Fiona gave us a very friendly welcome and suggested places where to dine. The room was comfortable and we‘ve had a relaxing night. Breakfast was very good and we’ve had a lovely chat with two other couples we were sharing the main table with.

  • My stay in Alness was great, Eleanor is a lovely host, kind and warm hearted. The accommodation is everything you need, a cosy and well located. The town is only a 10 minute walk, there are also some very good walking and cycling routes too. A walk uptown the Fyish monument on a clear day is fantastic, you get a great appreciation of the Moraty and the beatiful surrounding countryside. I am looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you Eleanor.

Private one bedroom cottage in the centre of the historic seaside village of Ardersier, able to host up to four guests, (bedroom can be 2 single beds or double). The property is just a 20 minute drive from Inverness city centre, 5 minutes from Inverness airport and is situated close to local pub/restaurant & shop.
Newly renovated clean and modern cottage in the Scottish highlands.
Just outside Inverness, Ardersier is close to the famous Culloden Battlefield, Fort George and Castle Stuart golf course. The cottage a 20 minute drive from the centre of Inverness and just 5 minutes from Inverness Airport - both accessible with public transport. There are popular walks along the beach to historic Fort George. There is also occasional live entertainment in the local pub The Star Inn as well as great food menu. A local Folk Club is on at the Pace hall in the village every Tuesday evening.
  • Excellent spot, with really helpful and swift responses from the hosts

    Simon2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Janie is the most perfect host and her little space just outside of Inverness is perfection. So clean, super comfortable and she went to extra efforts to leave us with fresh milk in the fridge, a high chair and crib for our son and greeted us warmly on our arrival which was later in the evening. Our only regret is not staying there long enough!

    Mandy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is FABULOUS and we can definitely see why Janie and Garrick are Superhosts as they most definitely deserve this reputation. Cosy, warm, modern, quiet and very comfortable accommodation complete with with tea, coffee and milk provided. Everything was superb. And SO close to great places to eat and things to see in this glorious area. I was unfortunate enough to trip over a (not visible) clothing stand and break a bone in my hand in a store in Eastgate Mall, had to spend 4 hours in A & E ( who were wonderful) but both Janie and Garrick were so remorseful and sad for what happened. And it wasn't their fault at all but we so appreciated their concern and caring. We would highly recommend this delightful little place to anyone wanting to stay near Inverness, will tell all our fellow travellers about it and would love to come back one day. Thank you Janie and Garrick so much.

  • Janie’s cottage is great, very spacious and newly remodeled, close to fort George and the moray coast.

    Chris2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with awesome scenery around. Ardersier is a quiet little town about 8 miles from Inverness. There is a grocery store and a restaurant near the house. Janie is a wonderful host who welcomed us into the house and set things up for us. Would definitely recommend the place.

  • Great wee getaway, lovely restaurant/bar next door would recommend!

    Scott2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent, quiet location to explore the northwest while staying convenient to the airport. We didn’t have anything planned during our 2 day visit, but Janie’s guidebook gave us tons of ideas to fill our time. The space is outfitted with very modern fixtures and everything else you’ll need. The flowers surrounding the property are gorgeous. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

    Kati2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • *Janie..💖 aka ‘Wonder Women’ At very short notice I had to book flights, car rental and accommodation for a Funeral in Watten Wick, ( 3 hours from Inverness) for 4 adults flying from Essex in the UK. By some miracle this property was available for the only 2 nights we required. Immediately after booking Janie contacted me and the communication was superb. The location is literally 5 mins by car from the airport. The bungalow is spotless, fresh towels, clean bed linen, milk in the fridge, loaf of bread with butter and jam. Soap and shower gels, everything you would basically need. Beds were very comfortable and we were a party of 4 with 3 big men. The heating was on and it was very ‘cosy’ and homely. Parking is available on the driveway and it is very easy to find. Janie told us that the Star Inn was 2 doors away and we had a superb meal here after a very long day. And this is where Janie just made our difficult trip so much easier (after already exceeding our expectations). We had to return the hire car on the Saturday eve and required a taxi at 5.30am on the Sunday morning. After asking for a reliable taxi firm Janie set her own alarm and took us all to the airport 💖 I’m sure that this is not part of the normal ‘AirBnb’ service!!!! I will return, hopefully on a happier trip and I would not stay anywhere else in Inverness. Janie, ‘Thank You’ for being such a caring and wonderful person. Steve

Small but cosy attic room in an 18th century Highland fisherman's cottage. Very near to the Fairy Glen RSPB reserve, Groam House Pictish Museum, beach (with the most northerly resident pods of bottlenose dolphins in Britain), and bus stop. The Plough Inn is yards away for drinks and meals, as is the Rosemarkie Beach Cafe, and Crofters Bistro. I have a pretty woodland garden, full of birds. A peaceful spot, you are welcome to sit in it for breakfast or just to relax. Make yourselves at home.
Stay in a little bit of history...and the garden is like a mini wildlife reserve. If you are staying a few nights and the weather is mild, you are welcome to use the kettle barbecue. You can choose between a double bed or two singles.

Hear the waves lapping on the beach from your room in our beautiful home on the Black Isle, in the historic town of Cromarty. This clean, newly refurbished room and fresh new shared bathroom next door is perfect for a relaxing Highland get away.
This is a lovely bright room with large windows on two sides. It has a double bed and a single futon can be made up for youngsters. The room is light and airy and has plenty of wardrobe space. It is well equipped for tea or coffee making, hair dryer, TV and radio with an easy chair for your relaxation.
Cromarty is a quiet little town with a diverse artistic and cultural community offering the traveller the opportunity to purchase some unique gifts. There is a good selection of places to eat and the eco ventures dolphin trips should not be missed. For the historians there is a wonderful Hugh Miller museum and a courthouse experience as well as an archaeological dig just along the shore. So much to do in such a small remote community.
  • Expect a welcoming, friendly, easy-going host, a clean, spacious room (Lighthouse) and just a brilliant location. Lovely Cromarty sunrises/sunsets from your room. An easy 5 minute stroll takes you to most places in town but why go straight there when there's the beach to comb for seaglass and sea crocks or friendly, interesting locals to chat with. Nice shops, good food.

Cromal Bank is a large detached, newish house situated on the outskirts of the pretty and historic village of Ardersier. It has tremendous views over the Inner Moray Firth towards the Black Isle in the West and into Loch Ness Monster country to the South. The Whisky and Castle trails as well as the start and finish of the NC500, are also easily accessible. We overlook Chanonry Point with it's famous Dolphins and Inverness Airport and Railway Station are only minutes away.
Guests are welcome to use the upstairs sitting room where they will have tremendous views over the Inverness Firth and mountains to the west. The large kitchen can also be used by guests for eating takeaway meals, microwaving , making coffee, tea etc. It is often used for socialising , having a glass or two etc. To clarify the bathroom situation... The double en suite , downstairs, has it's own facilities. The double, downstairs, has a large bathroom next door comprising toilet and bath with shower above. The twin, upstairs, has it's own toilet and basin. For a shower or bath you'll need to share the large one downstairs. I have my own ensuite upstairs so won't be sharing with any of your facilities.
This is a superb part of Scotland ... an ideal central situation for exploring . Weather here is normally better than most other parts. Close to the start and finish of the NC500. 10 minutes from Inverness. Close to Loch Ness ( and it's Monster ! ) Fort George, Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle as well as being a good locus for the Whisky Trail.

  • Wonderful house. Very clean and the only problem is working out the shower rota if there are a few guests. But that is as bad as it gets. Clean, spacious, WiFi, great location, easy parking. Excellent value from a very attentive host. I’m originally a local so I’m well impressed.

  • This was our second time staying in this house and like the first time it was fantastic! It is a great house - with two generous lounge rooms, comfortable beds, hot shower and well equipped kitchen, all in a fantastic location. We absolutely love it and will be sure to stay again in the future. Joyce is also fantastic and quick with her communication and is a joy and pleasure to deal with :)

    Belynda2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic place to discover Cromarty. Very close to the beach, the bakery and the supermarket. We've felt like at our own home. Very recommended.

    Daniel2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cromarty is a brilliant location for a holiday and this place couldn't be better as a base. Welcoming - with home made cake and other goodies - the clean and well equipped property really was a home from home. The garden was a splendid suntrap and the central location meant you were only three minutes from beach, shops and coffee. There are plenty of bedrooms to choose from and the bathroom is modern and very functional. All in all we would rate this very highly indeed in terms of Airbnb properties we have stayed in.

    Dave2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home, spacious, everything you need! Great location. We housed here and traveled around to Loch Ness, highlands, castles, isle of skye, etc! Joyce was thoughtful and thought of everything. Would definitely stay here again! Loved it!!!

    Jill2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This home was great! We had the best time and can not wait to stay here again (hopefully sometime soon). It was close to everything but quiet and had so much space - we were a group of two adult couples, one with a 2 and a half year old and we never once felt like we were on top of each other. The house was clean, comfortable and decorated to a lovely stylish standard - there was even a small array of goodies for us when we arrived. In short we can not recommend enough and will definitely be back!

  • This is a lovely place to stay, right near the beach, close to Inverness Airport and a short drive into the beautiful Cairngorm National Park. Mitch offers numerous thoughtful touches and provided such a nice array of food for breakfast and beyond — eggs to cook, fruit, cheese etc. and the bed is very comfortable!

    Tupko2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a snug and cozy place, very well appointed. And Mitch is generous with food, so you’ll find delightful things in the refrigerator. Moray Firth is just across the street. A good place for walking and for holing up!

    Tupko2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch's place is absoltuely fantastic! Super stylish & clean with everything you require for a short or longer stay. Bread, eggs, juice, cereal etc are there on arrival. The location is super quiet and just 2 minutes walk to the beach. Mitch communicated swiftly via email and a pleasant warm welcome awaited me. I highly recommend staying at Mitch's place.

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little space which is very clean and nicely decorated. Mitch is a great host and was easy to contact and communicate with, and there were lovely little touches included like a fully stocked fridge, everything you could need to cook, towels, shower gel and hairdryer/iron etc. I would recommend this place and I’d definitely stay here again.

    Hannah2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Communications before we arrived were prompt, Mitch met us on arrival and give a very good overview of the facilities. The property is in first class condition, and the 'breakfast' provisions were excellent. There was ample tea, coffee etc for our two night stay The property is in a very quiet location and within a two minute walk to the championship golf course. An excellent property run by a very friendly host... we couldn't have asked for more. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and family.

    James2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hospitality from Mitch. The annex itself, meanwhile, was of a quality and level of cleanliness superior to many rooms at 4-star (and even some 5-star) international hotels. Of particular surprise to us were the little touches, such as eggs, fruit juice, bread, jam and marmalade provided. These were very much appreciated. The half-size dishwasher is also a fantastic inclusion. Would highly recommend a visit.

  • This is a great location and minutes from the beach, Claire’s place is exceptionally clean and tidy, and the hamper was gratefully received after hours of travelling, such a great touch. We had a few problems with hot water but this is not Claire’s fault, these things happen and I am sure this will be resolved for the next guests. Communication form Claire was great from start to finish.

  • I booked very late In the day as I was tired and driving through and their instant book saved me. I arrived around 8pm. I would try to arrive in the daylight to make it easier to find :) They greeted me in person, made sure I had everything I needed, and then let me rest. You have your own bathroom which is super clean and cozy. After long travel days and feeling Under the weather, a soak in the tub was amazing. I had a great comfy sleep and all was seamless. I loved the coffee in the room which I took on the go. Thank you!

  • The room was lovely. Clean, comfortable and very quiet and peaceful. The bathroom is just outside your bedroom door so although it’s not an en-suite I wouldn’t let that put you off. The bathroom and bedroom were spotless. Great shower pressure & shampoo, soap etc were there for us to use. Black out curtains meant we got a good night sleep. And the skylights could be opened to let fresh air in which is always nice after being in hotels etc. We would recommend and would definitely stay again.

    Natalia2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We only met Jane, and she was really really nice, friendly, helpful,... The house is new with a nice view over the fields. If we come back to Scotland we would love to stay at your house again. All the best!

Cromarty is a charming town situated at the tip of the Black Isle in The Highlands of Scotland and is guarded by two headlands that form the mouth of the firth, The Sutors of Cromarty. Just off the North Coast 500 route and only 23 miles from the capital of The Highlands, Inverness and 23 miles from the town and royal burgh Dingwall, Cromarty proves itself to be the perfect base from which to tour the wider highlands or as a destination in its self, a quiet retreat from the mainstream tourist routes. • Perfect bolt hole for a stay in Cromarty. Spotlessly clean, quality furnishings and care and attention to detail. Received a welcome package of goodies and complimentary bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This is without doubt the best Airbnb we have stayed in. So much thought has gone into its creation and we had absolutely everything we needed for our stay and more. The garden is lovely to sit in on a Summer evening. We'd love a Winter stay too to have time to sit by the fire and dip into the wealth of interesting books in the house. There is an excellent coffee shop nearby and a more zany one beside the little ferry. There is plenty of information in the house on the wealth of things to do in the area. We met the owner, Ann, who was also very helpful and friendly.

  • The Old Nursery is wonderful. A stunning flat, beautifully decorated and styled, with so many extra personal little touches that make it such a peaceful haven in Cromarty. Even the radio in the kitchen is tuned to a fab station !!.

A quiet garden chalet in the heart of Fortrose. A small town on the Black Isle with good local amenities. The chalet can host upto 7 guests comfortably and is a great base for exploring the highlands of Scotland. We look forward to welcoming you.
All guests have the entire chalet for their use as well as a private garden to sit in.
The chalet is set in the centre of Fortrose, a stones throw away from the cathedral and harbour. The local Supermarket is less than a minute walk away and buses are regular to Inverness - the capital of the Highlands. The High Street is home to a number of shops including a pharmacy, a post office and cafe/restaurants. You can head to the beach to look for Dolphins or venture to the near by villages to explore.
  • Fortrose is a beautiful town with lots to see in close vicinity to Inverness and the Highlands. James was a wonderful host, very attentive and made the trip very enjoyable. His garden was beautiful and the home was just what we needed for our family.

  • The chalet was perfect, clean and tidy. James had put the heating on which made it cosy. James was very helpful giving us tips where to eat in Fortrose and local information. Would highly recommend a stay at the chalet and James was a great host.

  • Great place (ratio price vs standard is awesome), great location, awesome host!

    Marcin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed 1 night at the garden chalet but it had everything we needed. It was comfortable for a family of five. Jamie was very friendly and made our stay easy. It’s a lovely area to explore. Wish we had more time here.

  • Great wee bolt hole. Spotless. Very well stocked kitchen if you want to self cater. Nice to have tea, coffee and fresh milk. Really friendly host. Bed super comfy. Fortrose is a great wee spot too, beach, dolphins, bakery and cafes in the doorstep.

  • James was a wonderful host and very patient with us when we asked for the bed configuration changing which needed new bedding. The chalet was well equipped with lovely touches for a short stay like toilet roll, handwash, washing up liquid. Constant hot water (which is rarer than you would think) for a shower which never ran out all the time we were there even though there was four adults taking a shower. It was perfectly placed for exploring The Black Isle and within 5 minutes walk of a CO-OP supermarket, cafe, butchers and pub/hotel for meals. We can recommend the Fortrose cafe as we had an excellent breakfast there and The Anderson Hotel was very good. Don't be put off here by the exterior as the food was excellent and the inside quirky with very friendly staff. Thank you James. We will be back.

  • This was a lovely and cosy chalet which had everything we needed. The host was very welcoming and friendly, and we felt we only needed to ask if we needed anything. Location was very good - next to a co-op and gorgeous cafe but very quiet. We’ll definitely be back!!

Taffs Barn is a holiday cottage that was converted 5 years ago from an old barn, it is very light and airy and set in the peace and tranquillity of the Scottish countryside. We are just North of Inverness on the Blackisle, a good base for seeing the Highlands.
We have 2 conversions both sleeping 4 people. Taffs Barn consists of downstairs an entrance porch leading into a hallway off which leads to the kitchen, a downstairs shower room and a bedroom with a king size bed and here there is a locked door that leads to the shared laundry room which has a washing machine and dryer. The upstairs has a comfortable sitting room off which leads a balcony with table and chairs, there is a large bedroom upstairs with another king size bed and an ensuite bathroom which has a large shower, toilet and bath.
There are plenty of beautiful walks around the Blackisle although to reach these a car would be advisable. There is a golf course, horse riding and a mountain biking track close by.
  • Taffs Barn is a lovely barn conversion perfect for a few days peace and quiet. It is clean and comfortable with a nice modern layout and a well equipped kitchen. The location is easy to find but quiet while still a great base for exploring the Black Isle and further afield. The scones were also fantastic! We hope to come back!

  • Lovely property. Great facilities. Extremely clean.

    Shona2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's place was amazing and beyond my expectations. With an old converted barn, you could never tell from the inside. The inside is spacious with rooms that are big and plenty of room to move. If looking for a quiet place outside the city and some quite this is the place for you. I recommend this place to anything visiting the Inverness area and willing to make the extra drive to the attractions in the areas. Through my entire two week trip throughout the United Kingdom, this was the best place I stayed.

    Robert2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable and welcoming interior. It feels good in the living room and the beds and bathrooms are perfect. We slept very well and in the morning two deer were in the field in front of us. In short place to recommend.

  • We enjoyed our stay and the beautiful view from the barn. The accommodation was very tiny and well equipped. From the location many destinations are easy to reach. We can highly recommend this accommodation.
