Just booked in Crown Heights

Our place is close to the Poughkeepsie Train Station, restaurants, shops, bars, cafe's, Walkway over the Hudson, Marist College, The Culinary Institute, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Mid-Hudson Regional, Bardavon Opera House and the Poughkeepsie Waterfront... You’ll love our place because this will truly feel like your home away from home. You'll find a fully furnished, art deco/mid-century modern one bedroom apartment, fully equipped for all of your needs. We welcome everyone!
-Private entrance with keyless passcode entry -1 Bedroom with queen size bed -Spacious living room -Dining room for up to 4 guests -Newly renovated bathroom -Brand new appliances -Verizon Fios TV and Internet -Two off street parking spots -Outdoor patio and BBQ area -Air Conditioning -Fresh towels and linens -Iron -Blow Dryer -Coffee/Tea/Bottled Water
We are conveniently located within a 10 minute WALK from the Poughkeepsie Train Station and the historic Walkway over the Hudson! Our three family home is nestled in the Little Italy district of the City of Poughkeepsie - Appropriately there is no shortage of Italian bakeries or Italian restaurants in our neighborhood! Four restaurants (Amici's, Milanese, Cosimo's and Emiliano's) and two bakeries (La Deliziosa and Cafe Aurora) to be exact, all within WALKING distance! Good food is definitely not hard to come by in our neck of the woods. WALK on down to the Poughkeepsie waterfront... Dine inside or al fresco overlooking the beautiful Hudson River at the River Station Restaurant. Make sure you try one of the five delicious soups, homemade daily or pop into the historic Ice House on the Hudson for some of their yummy eats! Maybe you're just in the mood to cozy up next to a fire and enjoy a delicious glass of wine? Well then WALK down the street and around the corner to the Nic'L Inn. The ambience and artfully crafted menu never disappoints but be careful because their complimentary fried spaghetti can be addictive. Obviously we enjoy introducing people to our favorite neighborhood spots but lets not take away the fact that your journey to Poughkeepsie is just the gateway to the Hudson Valley. Located within 20 +/- minutes to the Village of New Paltz, Rhinebeck, Beacon, Breakneck Ridge (Hiking), Millbrook and multiple Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, Orchards and attractions in Historic Hyde Park. No matter the season, no matter the reason, our home is a great place to begin your journey.!
  • This was the perfect location for me (and a friend) during our excursions to Hyde Park (FDR mansion, ValKill, Vanderbilt mansion, Culinary Institute, etc.) Even though we didn't meet, Regina was very quick to respond to any messages. The apartment is cute and a nice private getaway space where you can cook your own meals and relax after a day of sight seeing.

  • Robert & Regina's place was everything as described. The pictures were completely accurate the appliances and the kitchen everything looked new and really well maintained. I wish I could decorate my own apartment like that. I was only there for one night when I was taking an exam the next afternoon. I was able to study peacefully and quietly until then. I had my exam the next morning which I got an A on just got my score back.... but anyway looking for clean, comfortable and a home away from home instead of a hotel for the same price or even more I would def choose here !

    Kemi2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Regina's place was really great! Within walking distance to a few great restaurants and the area has all that you might need in terms of groceries, pharmacies, etc. The off-street parking was nice to have! Check in was easy and Robert and Regina were quick to respond to all of our questions. Also the couch is extra cozy!

    Sally 2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised...good host, good accommodations, good restaurants close by... and not to far off the beat'in path. The best part...they'll leave the light on for you too...

  • If you're looking for a great place to stay in Poughkeepsie, look no further! Nice, comfortable, clean and convenient.

    Lori2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place for my 3 nights in Hudson River Valley to visit Roosevelt and Vanderbilt houses, and just relax in self contained apartment with appealing decor. Had dinner at home two nights, and unexpected delight of a meal at Culinary Institute of America. I drove everywhere, but more energetic people could walk some places.

    lesley2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as advertised. We found it to be clean and comfortable and just what we were looking for. The waterfront park and shops and restaurants are within a short walk (about half a mile).

  • Mariama is a great host. She offers convenient late night check in (upto 2 AM), that's perfect for on-the-spur travelers like myself. The house is conveniently located and is small and cozy. The room itself was a bit tight and small, but my sister and I definitely counted our blessings for having found something last minute and managed just fine. The location is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to IBM's office. (I am an avid runner and woke up early am to go for a run around the block and IBM's parking lot was my 5 mile running route). Overall a good experience

    Parul2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Location is very convenient to many areas stores. Mariama has a kind heart and big smile.

  • Beautiful home, great host, great bed. Domenick provides an amazing amount of hospitality. Highly recommend

    EDWARD2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Domenick certainly lives up to his credential as a "superhost". His place is lovely, (very tastefully re-habbed and decorated) and spotlessly clean. The room spacious and the bed is comfortable. Domenick has thought through many other little details, the mints, the sundries, the amazing brownies. Domenick and his roommate are both very pleasant and his little dog is very cute. We definitely recommend!

    Jeff n Jan2017-10-21T00:00:00Z

  • My friend and I went upstate for the Benmarl Winery Sangria Festival (highly recommend!). We stayed at the Pump House and it was an absolute pleasure. George arranged for a slightly earlier check in than anticipated, which helped us out quite a bit in terms of scheduling. Every need was anticipated and provided for (fresh coffee and a bottle of wine in the fridge, shampoo and conditioner in the shower, AC already running when we arrived). The space is immaculate, and the décor offers a lovely nod to the industrial origin of the space. George even provided a little binder with information about the area and take-out menus inside. We ordered from Eddies and recommend the garlic knots with cheese if you're feeling indulgent! We had such a peaceful morning watching the creek go by, and spotted a woodchuck! Overall we had a wonderful stay, the serenity of the Pump House a beautiful accent to our day roaming the local vineyards. I will definitely book this house again for future adventures.

    Clair2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the Pump House! Our trip was short, but even in the brief time we were there the place provided a wonderful respite. Would happily go back again!

    Kate2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing stay! This was a lovely place in a unique location. It was quiet and stress free. We especially loved the fire pit beside the creek in the evening. George was an excellent host and maintained a good sense communication. - thank you again :)

    Michael2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • I was beyond impressed with my stay at George's. The space is second to none- beautiful, impeccably clean, filled with amenities, the list goes on. Simply put, Creekside Retreat is perfect.

    Jenna2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The home was very nice inside. It had great charm. Very convenient to restaurants.

    Jonathan2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the pump house! The surrounding area is a bit industrial, but once you get inside it's a completely different world. It has such a rustic feel with high ceilings, fireplace, and the cutest decorations - you can tell a lot of work and thought had gone into making this place homey. Check-in was a breeze and George was nice enough to leave us a bottle of wine and other drinks in the fridge as a welcome gift! The bed was super comfy and we really enjoyed the indoor fireplace to relax after a busy day. Highly recommend!

    Jane2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place! George was very responsive and accommodating. Everything was beautiful and so many nice details! Thanks so much for the breakfast!

    Lauren2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • George's studio space has it all. Historic structure and details? Check. Views? Check. Seclusion? Check. Fireplace? Check. He thought of even the smallest details, providing wine, coffee and drink as well as fruit and granola for guests. there were even robes and slippers freshly hung and laid out for guests! A beautiful space that really took me out of my NYC mindset for the weekend. I have already recommended it to two people, and I hope to return in the summer! Thank you!

  • Mary and Vince were so warm and welcoming. The house is so beautiful and the apartment is full of amazing art pieces and furniture. They added so many touches of hospitality to the apartment like water and soda in the fridge and toiletries and plush towels in the bathroom. We had a lovely stay in their home and would recommend this listing to anyone looking for a stay in a beautiful historic home.

We're in a great location within a few miles of Vassar, Marist, and IBM. Hyde Park with FDR's home and the Culinary is a few minutes drive. There are two bedrooms, the first room has a beautiful queen size bed and adjoining cozy living room, with a private bath. The second has a king bed with its own private bath. Sleeps two, three or four. Continental breakfast provided. We're looking forward to meeting you.
  • Judith and Paul are very sweet. Their house is immaculate and all the reviews I read were spot on. She made cookies for our arrival and had a full breakfast spread in the mornings. Would definitely recommend their place to anyone passing through the Hudson Valley area.

    Laura2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Judith and Paul are welcoming, warm, and caring. Their home is not only clean and beautifully decorated, but located in a quiet, charming area with deer running about the grounds. I woke to beautiful breakfast spreads each morning, that always included a homemade item and they even cooked me dinner one evening. Best of all was the conversations we had; they take true interest in their guests and are so delightful to chat with! I really feel like I got a better sense for life in Poughkeepsie than I would have if staying in a hotel. Everything about my stay was outstanding and I will remember the trip fondly.

    Bonnie2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Judith & Paul were friendly, gracious hosts and their place is lovely. Bedroom and bathroom accommodations were roomy, clean and comfortable - just perfect! Judith extended her hospitality in the morning with breakfast treats including fresh baked bread and cookies, fruit, yogurt, coffee & tea. We couldn't have asked for a nicer airbnb. Directions were great. Very nice neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

    Kathy2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and peaceful in a residential neighborhood, not far from Vassar College and downtown Poughkeepsie. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. Judith is a very gracious and pleasant host!

    Dave2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you're visiting Duchess County make sure you consider Judith and Paul's place. We loved the healthy breakfasts and peaceful beauty of their home. Their location between the historic homes up in Hyde Park and the shopping/family eating places further south on highway 9 were an added plus for us.

    Harvey2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • It definitely helps to have GPS on your phone to navigate the curving and winding streets of the neighborhood and of Poughkeepsie itself. Paul and Judith's home is welcoming and quiet for a peaceful time when you are not out doing other things.

    Michael2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home and gracious hosts.

    Kate2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Judith's house is wonderful. Very clean and comfortable! They were very welcoming to me and my family. We stayed overnight to attend a wedding. It was the perfect location and we had fun talking with them in the morning .

Sleep staring at stars! Featured in The New York Times, The Today Show & called by Forbes "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House," the Hudson Valley Glass House is a magical getaway. Just 90 mins from NYC, but a world away. 30 acres of rolling hills give total privacy and isolation as glass walls open up onto endless views of vineyards, orchards, & wildlife (spy coyote, deer, & amazing birds!). Modern comforts (WiFi, A/C & a loaded kitchen) keep you from feeling like you've given anything up.
Hi! If you're thinking of booking, please message me first to confirm, and also please read the entire listing to the end as it likely answers any questions you may have... Welcome to The Glass House—the only publicly accessible Escape Vista-model tiny home on the East Coast. Come see why Forbes called it "The World's Most Beautiful Tiny House" and called an "off-grid oasis" on The Today Show. (NOTE: OVER THE WINTER, WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING WEEKEND BOOKINGS) Sleep staring at the stars and feel the stress melt away in this glass-enclosed tiny house (just 180 square feet!) retreat, just 90 minutes from NYC, but a world's away. This is a truly special place, and most people find it surprising that it can exist so close to New York. With all sorts of wildlife coming within inches of the house (don't be surprised if you see coyotes, families of deer, and every type of bird you could imagine), this is a truly immersive experience into nature. But despite its small size and isolated location, it is surprisingly luxurious on the inside. The listing includes: -A 180 square-foot glass-enclosed tiny house, offering spectacular 360-degree views of the Hudson Valley and surrounding vineyards and apple orchards -Lots of privacy on a 30-acre farm. -Outdoor dining and lounging furniture, along with access to a fire pit that you can definitely grill on. -A plush queen-sized bed with a super-comfy memory foam mattress and insanely comfortable pillows -A dining table with two chairs for sitting and eating. -A modern stainless-steel kitchen with a mini-fridge, induction cooktop for cooking, microwave, and electric kettle. Despite the small size, it has just about everything but a range oven. -Wi-Fi for keeping in touch with the real world and streaming shows on your personal devices. Also note that while the house is tiny and has a maximum occupancy of two people, I am sometimes able to accommodate larger parties for those bringing tents and willing to camp outside. Please inquire about pricing for such scenarios. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q: Can I get to the house without a car? A: The house is about 25-minutes driving from the Beacon train station. If you choose not to drive the whole way there are Zipcar pickups at the train station (reserve in advance!) and Uber JUST launched in the area ($20-$30 for the ride from the train). A car is highly recommended (especially if you want to explore the area), but this definitely makes things possible for the car-free—just be sure to show up with everything you need for the stay as the farm is in a rural area that is not particularly walkable. Q: Do I need to bring towels or linens? What about a hairdryer? A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with basic toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is very rare). Q: Is this house really off the grid? A: Yep! It features solar panels for power, a propane HVAC system for heating and air-conditioning, and a unique dry-flush toilet (more on that in the "Other Things To Note" section below). One exception: You absolutely have working Wi-Fi. Q: How will I receive the key? A: The house features a keyless entry system with a code that lasts as long as your stay. This allows for effortless check-in and entry. Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests? A: Yes, and I take pride in providing a clean home for guests. Take a look at my reviews—I think you'll find my guests agree! Q: What's up with the cleaning fee? A: I get a lot of questions about this, so I'll just break it down so you understand why it is what it is: All but $10 of that goes directly to my cleaner. She is a professional who does a great job and who I insist on compensating fairly for her work. The dry-flush toilet cartridges cost me about $20 apiece, so the remaining $10 lets me split that cost with guests. (Of course, if you happen to use more than one cartridge, I cover that cost alone). Q: What's my total booking price? A: I honestly have no idea. With fees included, Airbnb only shows the guest, and not the host, the total cost. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and Airbnb actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this. Q: I am looking for a last-minute stay. Can I make a same-day booking? A: If you're looking for a same-day booking and the place is free, please inquire and I'll try! It depends on whether my cleaning crew can spring into action at the last-minute, which isn't a sure thing. Check-in may also have to be later than the listed time in order to make sure the place is ready. Still, can't hurt to ask. One last thing: I really, really appreciate that you followed directions and read the whole thing. Please put the phrase "Don't throw rocks at glass houses!!" at the top of your message so I know you did so as such bookings tend to go so much smoother! And thanks for hanging in there!
The Glass House is situated on a 30-acre farm in the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley. Guests have total privacy, but are joined on the farm by the main farm house and a smaller residence with live-in caretakers that can help out in case of an emergency. Around the farm are views of rolling vineyards and apple orchards—many of which are absolutely worth a visit. Downtown Marlboro is minutes away and has a few nightlife and dining options, and the hopping town of Beacon (home of the Dia; Beacon) is about 25 minutes away. Storm King Art Center (a must) is also about 30 minutes away. Also near: New Paltz, Cold Spring Poughkeepsie, and countless other Hudson Valley gems.
  • We had the most magical weekend at Seth's. For 2 city dwellers who are not really cut out for camping, this was the perfect way to experience nature in all of its peace and privacy and glory without having to rough it in the least. We took the train up from NYC Friday afternoon - as Seth mentions, it's only about 25 minutes from the Beacon station - and took a taxi from the station, which was super easy. We were completely blown away by the peaceful and beautiful experience offered by the tiny glass house. The pictures can't even convey how stunning the views are and how incredible it is to wake up surrounded by nature on all sides. There is an amazing farm/grocery store nearby where we did all our shopping on Seth's recommendation and we also got eggs from the farm! We had the most amazing time cooking (the induction stove really is genius) and eating outside at the fire pit. Every little thing in the tiny glass house is so thoughtful, from the coffee press to the speakers to the books left for reading in the perfect bed nook (which is incredibly comfortable and fit my 6'2 boyfriend no problem!). We thought we would cozy up and watch our favorite shows all weekend, but we ended up spending most of the time just laying in bed looking out onto the view and it could not have been lovelier. I can't recommend Seth's place enough! It truly is the perfect retreat.

    Samantha2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The immersion in nature is unmatched by this experience of being surrounded by the night sky and the sounds of nature. Every detail has been considered for guests' comfort. Seth is a very attentive, responsive and meticulous host which ensure a luxury 'glamping' experience. The toilet situation is a bummer but certainly best option given the off-grid status. Guests should be prepared to dispose of their used liner.

    Laurence2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique space! The view was stunning and peaceful- we even saw deer calmly stroll by! Extremely private and secluded which was also nice. The space was comfortable even though it was so tiny- laid out very well.

    Molly2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful tiny house in a beautiful farm setting. Plenty of space for two people with fully functioning appliances and amenities. Very nice outdoor sitting area around a fire pit beneath the starry night.

    Edyta2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This Tiny House is so lovely. Clean and Cozy. Expertly stocked with every little thing you might need. But no clutter. So well designed. The large windows just make it feel so open and huge. The bed is great and really comfortable. Plenty of storage to put your stuff away. The bathroom was small and yet large enough. We were a little worried about the electric toilet, but in the end (no pun intended) it really wasn't a big deal at all. It's perfectly sanitary and easy. My wife and I had such a great relaxing time. We look forward to returning.

    Craig2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Seth's tiny house for our 1 year anniversary! The house was luxurious and secluded on a gorgeous plot of farm land. The bed was cozy and was perfect for a 2 night stay. Seth was so prompt in communicating with us, and was very attentive to our needs! Would highly recommend this place.

  • A gem of a tiny house in a serene private setting! My husband and I have been longing to "test drive" the Escape Vista in person, thankfully this was only 2.5 hr drive from us in CT. We've never been to Hudson Valley so it was a nice excursion. It's functionality is well thought out, making the most use of the space with a clean minimalist design. Kitchen provided basic essentials, and the mini fridge was nice and quiet. The laveo toilet and induction cook top are also on our "wish list" so it was nice opportunity to try those out too and they worked great. My only issue is with the tiny Euro sized bathroom sink.. it's fine for washing hands and brushing teeth only ( I used the kitchen sink to wash my face). Totally immersed in nature, we saw baby bunnies, chipmunks, deer and of course the nearby happy hens (which provided excellent eggs for a light supper). The house is really cozy at night, with the glow of a little lamp, a glass of wine, a little classical on the blue tooth speaker..and of course the view of the stars. We enjoyed walks from our doorstep to the winery road around the bend once you leave the farm property (turn right, then right again at the next street). Seth was an excellent host. He provided a very detailed info pack, and responded instantly to my questions, great communication! Would love to visit again in the winter!

    Patricia2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Glass House was a dream, and staying there an extremely positive experience. The abundant space and light were just what we needed having traveled from the city for a respite in the country (it seriously felt spacious in relative terms to our one-bedroom; okay, it might have totally just been the absolute lack of clutter); the stars were glorious. With only chickens and deer to call our neighbors, we couldn't have been happier, and would heartily recommend Seth (with his quick, diligent, and accurate hosting skills) and his place to anyone looking for a relaxing, stress-free getaway.

Close to Vassar College, Marist College, the Walkway Over the Hudson (longest elevated pedestrian walkway in the world), FDR Presidential Library and Home, Eleanor Roosevelt Home, Rail Trails, Shopping, Restaurants, and Vassar Hospital. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed and cozy feeling, quiet neighborhood, central location. Perfect for couples, academic lecturers in town for a few days, and solo adventurers. Large private back yard with hammock and anti gravity chair.
Wifi is available in your room. There is one TV in the living room - you're welcome to join me if I'm home watching, or watch on your own if I'm out. Laundry (washer/dryer) available if needed.
I've lived in this house for many years and found it to be a very safe neighborhood. While there are no sidewalks, there isn't much traffic, so its very conducive to taking walks for those who enjoy doing so.
  • You will enjoy your stay here! Very beautifully furnished and a fabulous hostess who is cordial and friendly.

  • My husband and I had a great stay at Erica's lovely home. A perfect location to explore the area and a very comfortable set up for our needs. Erica is an excellent host, very considerate and helpful!

    Jessica2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Erica is a very friendly and warm person. Communicating with her prior to our arrival was easy and she was very helpful with providing suggestions for driving routes to her place from JFK airport. Her house is as described; warm and cozy. The room we stayed in was comfortable and the bathroom (shared) was just across the hall. The bed was comfortable for two of us (my sister & I). She provided towels, tea & coffee and use of her kitchen/pots & pans if we wanted. We had a key to access the house and there is wifi. Over all, our week long stay was great. Erica is nice to talk to, sharing about her experiences and giving tips on what to do in the area. The house is located minutes from Route 9, about 15mins from Marist/The Culinary Institute, and minutes from Vassar. Poughkeepsie & New Hamburg Train Stations are both close to her house (10-15mins). There is off-street parking available for 1 car on her driveway. Would be happy to re-book when we are in the area next time. Thanks Erica. It was lovely to meet you and hope to see you again soon!

  • Erica is wonderful! My boyfriend and I stayed with her for a couple of nights when we were in town for a wedding. We didn't get much time to talk, but she is very friendly and hospitable! Her home is also lovely and very clean! We would recommend her home to anyone. Thank you!

    Kristin2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • I attended a wedding close to Erica's, so it was a perfect home base for me. The house and room are comfortable (and just as described), and Erica was a lovely and helpful host. Though my stay was very brief, I felt right at-home with her and the space. It's not far to anything you may need, but it was definitely helpful to have a car.

    Dorey2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Erica's place! She was very friendly and hospitable. The bed was very comfortable! The home lovely, neat and clean. We look forward to staying in the future! Edie and Mela from NJ

  • We were in town for a wedding and loved that Ashley and Aaron's place was in a convenient location and inexpensive compared to nearby hotels. The place was cozy and very clean and had everything we needed! I highly recommend staying!

    Lisa2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley and her husband were great hosts - very responsive when we couldn't figure out how to use the tv (our issues, not theirs!), easy check-in/check-out, nice comfy bed, and altho we didn't partake they had great snacks available! Wi-fi worked great, neighborhood is quiet, and very close to Vassar and places to eat and explore in Poughkeepsie.

    Dana2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley and Aaron's private suite was a wonderful stay. Clean linens, an extremely comfortable bed, and a tastefully decorated and cozy space makes it the perfect place for a weekend getaway in this area. It's a very short distance (about 5-7 min drive) from Poughkeepsie's Main Street and also a short drive from cute nearby towns like Woodstock (GF's personal favorite). Would definitely recommend this gem!

  • Great communication throughout our trip with both Ashley and Aaron. Easy to check in with a lock box available. Place was very clean and nicely renovated. Appreciated the water, coffee and snacks available. Also, nice toiletries provided in the bathroom. Will stay here again when in the area. 5 stars all around!

    Christine2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ashley and Aaron's place. The apartment was cute, cozy and comfortable with everything we needed for our overnight stay while we were in town for a wedding. It's in a quiet neighborhood setting, but was very close to the venue which made it super convenient. We were also able to bring our dog with us which was an added perk! The little extra touches, like snacks and bottled water, were really thoughtful. Next time we're in the area, we'd definitely like to stay here again!

  • Christine your place was magic. Every single detail added to the experience. I am a Reiki practitioner myself and I felt the positive charge as soon as we walked in :). Thank you for enabling a truly relaxing getaway for this group of stressed New Yorkers.

    Michelle2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful weekend here!!! AMAZING views, SO CLOSE to the metro north. Christine provided massages (extra charge) at the home, was so generous with recommendations and her knowledge of the area. HOT TUB, hammock, porch, coffee station, and ease of communication = A++++

One Bedroom, 2 couches and a air mattress in shared space as well as 2 bathrooms are available for up to 5 guests. My house is brand new and very well maintained, it is a great place if you want to stay for a night a few days and enjoy the Hudson Valley. It is located 10mn from the Taconic Parkway and 15mn from Poughkeepsie Center (Mid-Hudson bridge and MTA Train Station).
  • We knew that the host is busy working young man. We did not expect the house is such a clean and tidy one. Romain has been very supportive. We arrived in the cold snowing day and he provided a additional heating in case we feel cold. He's such a quiet but thoughtful gentleman. He showed up when and only when we need him. The house is located in a very quiet yet convenient neighborhood within 10 minutes to restaurants and grocery stores by car. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend everybody to this house.

  • The house is in a great area, easy access to colleges, restaurants, etc. The house was immaculate and it's beautifully decorated. We enjoyed sitting and enjoying our coffee in the backyard. Beds are comfortable, very nice kitchen and baths. We would love to book again when back in Poughkeepsie. Caretaker Sal was punctual, friendly and helpful.

    ELIZABETH2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute home. I say home because it truly felt like I was at home. Kitchen is fully functional and equipped for cooking meals. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of linens and towels. Neighbors even brought over a package that was delivered to them by mistake! ACs cooled very well. Very artistic decor. Great if you have kids and need downtime from activities. We went to Poughkeepsie as my husband attended a bootcamp in the nearby Culinary Institute of America.

    Halla2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, the house is accommodating, clean and nicely appointed, in a central location. Sal, who manages the property and is a local artist, is friendly and available if needed.

  • The house was attractively decorated and updated. Edie has great taste! It was located in a quiet neighborhood fairly close to Vassar, but a drive to everything else. It was a good place for a family to stay. The wi-fi & cable were good, but my husband missed having ESPN.

All spaces in the house are available for use.

  • Great place to stay, especially if you're looking to be close to Vassar College. Came for a reunion tournament with a number of friends, and Edward's home was a great fit. Big, comfortable, well-decorated. Thanks Edward!

    Jake2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Location and room as advertised. Eddie was very accommodating and helpful and his place is charming. Had a problem with the heat during the night and the following morning but was only a minor inconvenience.

    Todd2014-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Edward and Desiree's home is tastefully and adequately furnished, spacious, and private. I liked that the parking was in the back of the house, off the road. The bed in the master bedroom was firm and comfortable, and the heat was already set to a very comfortable temperature when I arrived. Everything was clean and fresh. No complaints. The house is in a quiet neighborhood not far from downtown. Would definitely book again, especially if traveling with family or friends.

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Very close to the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. Edward’s home offered a very comfortable stay for anyone looking to explore P-town.

House is next to the New Hamburg Metro North train station (90 min to G.Central NYC). The house has a porch with seasonal river views and outdoor patio with grill. New Hamburg is close to Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Cold Spring, and Wappingers Falls. Location is perfect for day trips to NYC. You’ll love my place because of the easy access to NYC, the neighborhood, the accommodations, the light, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
Easy access to New Hamburg Metro North train station. Right next to the Hudson River. New Hamburg is a quaint hamlet with a historic charm.
  • Wonderful house well situated to tour the Hudson River Valley. We were six adults (two couples and two singles) so the bedroom arrangement was perfect. The house is on a pretty site and has a great wrap-around porch. The train station is right next door, but the noise of the trains fades away into the scenery and wasn't bothersome to us at all. Everything you could possibly need is provided. And best of all, Chris is a great host; he made everything go smoothly.

    Alan2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris' place is amazing. My wife and I had just gotten married in the city, and we spent the weekend with our families at Chris'. We're so glad his place was available for the occasion. I would very happily return with my family or a group of friends.

    Haimin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is now my fourth time using Airbnb; however, it was my first time actually staying in someone's home. The other times have always been rentals. Chris's place was awesome. It was a fully furnished home and it was truly like home away from home. He and his mother are great hosts. The baked goods she left were amazing! Thank you Nancy!! My only regret is that we weren't able to take advantage of everything the house had to offer(grills, patio, yard, etc) because our schedule was so busy. We hope to stay here again in the future. Thank you Chris!

    Brian2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfy house and the covered outdoor patio was great to relax in. We had 6 people and we were comfortable staying there with 3 bathrooms. Excelllent communication with the owner.

    Heidi 2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the train into the city. It's right there. It was fully equipped right down to spices in the cabinets This is someone's home so expect toys and clothes in the closet. Even so, there was plenty of room for our needs too.

    Don2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's house was great. The layout is great for a large group. It's warm, cozy and clean. Convenient to many locations in the Hudson Valley.

    lindsay2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing house! Hosted Thanksgiving with my family and it was perfect, lovely fireplace and beautiful kitchen. The place was even decorated for the holiday and they left a delicious pumpkin cake for us. Thanks!

    Katie2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with 4 adults and 3 kids aged 1 - 5. It was a perfect place for such a group. Chris gave accurate info and communicated clearly, so all was excellent. FYI: there is a train station nearby and one can hear trains during the day and a bit a night. We were initially concerned that it could be a nuisance but this proofed not to the case - all perfect!

  • Whitney was a lovely host! She even baked cookies to welcome up to the home. She shared suggestions for the area to visit and was on call as needed. The space is huge and incredibly comfy! We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

  • Mark and Whitney are incredible, and their place is gorgeous. Every detail was thought of, and communication was clear and immediate. It was the perfect place for a retreat away from the city. Spacious, clean and beautiful home! Special shout out to Whitney for being a rock star and bringing us granola and cookies- really awesome surprise.

    Jeremy2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend staying here! Great hosts and great space. I was a bit worried about sharing the house with a second housing unit but it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, it's divided well.

  • Beautiful 19th century home, but with lots of modern touches, and surprisingly warm for a noise with large spaces. Being on Lattintown Rd makes it easy to get around. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They are actively renovating, so I can't wait to see what it looks like in a year. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Lodida's hospitality is magnificent and she was always available to answer all our questions. The house was just what we needed and then some with very comfortable living area, bedrooms and everything she claimed it to be. I highly recommend this home if you have children in the schools in the area, it was like a home away from home.

  • Loida was a very communicative and wonderful host! The kitchen has everything you need and the bathrooms are filled with toiletries in case you forgot something. The house is very spacious and accommodated us just fine. Loida had the fridge stocked with eggs, milk and bread and supplied coffee for us as well which was very nice of her. We would definitely stay here again!

    Belkis2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • It's a beautiful cozy cabin in Poughkeepsie. The host Loida is very sweet and she prepared the cabin wonderfully for us. The kitchen is well equipped and we could find every thing that we needed. Loida also got a can of fresh milk for us to get started with our tea/coffee which is a very sweet gesture :). Check-in and check-out times were flexible and that made our trip all the more fun. We felt we were at home .

    Shriya2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loida was so nice. I contacted her before our trip to ask some questions. She was so helpful, very accommodating and very friendly. Our family arrived very late but Loida was at the house and gave us a tour and showed us where everything was . She assured us it anything and everything in the house was for our use. I would not hesitate to stay there again. I highly recommend staying at Sheldon Hi Top.

    Donna2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loida was extremely accommodating and an amazing host. She was kind and very welcoming. Her home is beautiful and spacious, fitting all 9 guests in my party comfortably. All amenities that we needed were made available to us and we all felt extremely safe staying in the house. I would definitely recommend her home to anyone interested in visiting the gorgeous Hudson Valley.

    Krystal2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loida was an extremely gracious host. She even dropped off extra propane to the house to make sure the grill didn't run out! The house is beautiful and roomy and accommodated a group with ease! The kitchen is open and works well in which to entertain. We also spent a lot of time catching up and playing games in The big living room. The house is in a great neighborhood, and only about a 10 minute drive to the restaurants and pubs. We decided that we want to make this a yearly stay! I would recommend the house to anyone and everyone. Great price too!

    Zach2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay to spread out. The home could have been a little cleaner in our opinion, but we would still stay again. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you need to feel like home. We had 7 in our group and felt very comfortable there.

    Debbie2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Loida and her house were both great. From start to finish, Loida was wonderful - flexible, communicative, welcoming and generous. She made sure everything was smooth and easy and was patient while I had to work out some details with my friends before I could commit. The house was perfect for my party of 4 friends. It's a cozy place with a great kitchen and living room. The location is excellent, right near Vassar and a short drive to new paltz. A great experience from start to finish. Thanks, Loida!
