Just booked in Cudal

Located in the oldest part of town and dating back to 1865 this recently renovated house has all the modern day comforts you could possibly desire for your home away from home stay. Enjoy a free bottle of delicious local bubbles on arrival........
We are located right next to Byng Street Local Store. Fabulous cafe open 7 days a week. Catering available by contacting Jeremy on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Only a short 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops. The house is recently renovated and is equipped with all mod cons as well as Brand new Queen size Chiropractic beds for A & H Baird. Super cosy for a great nights sleep! There is a Rumpus room just for kids that is seperate from the house. It has brand new 55inch television with computer games etc. There is a cosy sofa and some bean bags as well. The Rumpus room is located at the end of the shed (red door). Its great for the kids (better for the adults!)
Lovely quiet part of the town known to locals as "The Golden Triangle" Very short walk to Duntry League Golf club and local bars.
  • I visited Orange with my husband and two children and we had a fantastic stay in this house. It is in a beautiful part of town, close to everything, with a great cafe next door. There is a really pretty park down the road, Cook Park with a duck pond (we were lucky to see little ducklings too). The decor was lovely and the house was clean and well presented... just like the pictures show. The pretty, flat garden was especially good as it gave the kids somewhere to play. The host Jeremy was very friendly and easy to get in touch with (not that we needed too) as everything was provided. Even many staples which we werent expecting. Wow! A great find. We will defininely stay again if we are back in Orange.

  • We had a wonderful weekend in Orange catching up with some friends and visiting the surrounding vineyards. This weekend was only enhanced with our accommodation. The house was lovely and the photos don't do the size of the rooms justice. A short walk to restaurants and bars was very convenient. Jeremy was a great host ensuring any questions we had were answered promptly.

  • Perfect house and great cafe next door! Will book again!

  • Jeremy made us feel welcome right from the beginning. Correspondence was easy and uncomplicated, everything went very smoothly. The house is just as gorgeous as it looks. A very warm and welcoming home to stay in, it was perfect for our stay, and is beautifully decorated. Thank you Jeremy for the little extras that make a weekend away special as well!

  • This place is lovely...the perfect combination of cosy and rustic country with modern finishes. The four bedrooms are great as they are equal in size and quality (so great for groups of couples). Kitchen is super modern (you may want to bring a few extra pots/pans if cooking anything elaborate for 8 people as a little light on these), parking is great (2-3 cars in the drive) and the open fire is wonderful! Only drawback for some people may be only having one (Website hidden by Airbnb) a really nice big clean modern bathroom but if you have lots of people who take a long time to get ready this may be an issue. There is a second toilet just outside the back door which is handy! House is right new to a cafe owned by the host which was delicious and very handy - the two vouchers for a free coffee were really appreciated...although enough for all guests to have one would have been even better! We would definitely return to this property...we thought it was great location, great atmosphere and value for money.

  • Beautiful, spacious house immaculately presented. It was the perfect venue for bride-to-be & her bridesmaids to spend the night & day before the wedding. A fresh loaf of sourdough bread on arrival was a welcoming touch. The cafe next door is convenient: coffee is great & it provided delicious food for the bridal party.

    Robin2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Oh wow! Jeremy's house was beyond expectations. Amazing styling and just everything included. We wanted to buy the house and move to Orange! A great weekend. Thank you so much for attention to details, great taste, your generosity and excellent communication. Kitty

  • This house is a beautiful place to stay with family and friends. Close to restaurants, bars, wineries and the coffee from the cafe next door was great. The styling makes it feel comfortable and inviting and the backyard was beautiful.

Frisby Cottage is a private, country cottage located just outside Cudal, only 30 minutes from Orange. The cottage contains a queen size bed ideal for couples with the inclusion of a flat screen TV, linen, towels, fridge, kitchenette, bathroom, verandah with outdoor setting and a Weber BBQ. Minimum two nights
Whether you're looking for a quiet place to escape the rush of a busy working week or just passing by, Frisby Cottage is the perfect place to unwind in a central location to Orange, a thriving wine and food destination.
Cudal is a small village with the Frisby property itself just a few kms south on the Canowindra road. The property is a mixed farming enterprise in the foothills of Mount Canobolas which provides rich volcanic soil and fresh water creeks that run through the centre of the farm. Whilst we don't offer any farm activities as such, we do encourage you to take a walk through the paddocks to see the lucerne paddocks, livestock and native pastures. The main house has a tennis court which you are welcome to use with some notice. At night, the stars will amaze you and the silence is deafening.
  • Thanks for a wonderful stay in Frisby Cottage, very welcoming with farm fresh eggs, fire all ready to go, and quality fluffy towels and linens. Communication great, everything was marvellous.

    Tracy2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Frisby Cottage is the most gorgeous old 1 bedroom cottage. It's small, cosy, very tastefully decorated and the most relaxing place a couple could hope for. We spent 3 nights there. During the day, out and about wine tasting and lunching in the Orange area, so many great little wineries and picturesque countryside. Bunkering down in the evenings in front of a roaring open fire and breakfast on the porch with a cup of tea and some farm fresh eggs courtesy of Frisby's nomadic chickens who wander around the cottage. The cottage is set on Jock and Tina's farm, they are warm and friendly hosts

    Michael2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property, and comfortable cottage.. Thank you to Tina and Jock for being a chilled host and made our stay easy. Will be back soon I hope.

    Chris2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Frisby Cottage is an absolute hidden treasure. Nestled away in the beautiful hillside about 25 mins outside Orange this place has everything you could ask for from a secluded country getaway. The cottage itself is very cosy with a perfect fireplace to warm it up or just for some nice ambiance and the veranda is the perfect place for a morning coffee. Bed, bathroom, and kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The main house is only a short distance away if you ever needed anything and their hospitality was 1st class. The clay tennis court is an added bonus and a lot of fun. We didn't get to explore the rest of the property but i'm sure you could go on a great walk around past the small creek nearby and up into the hills. My recommendation would be a picnic and a drink at dusk as there is a great sunset over the hills. The drive back into Orange to visit the wineries is so easy and with the great canola fields to look at it feels like it only takes 10 minutes.

    Kieran2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great and comfy place. Tina and Jock were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay again.

    Melanie2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Frisby Cottage for 3 nights and it was a unique and amazing experience. The scenery and outlook is gorgeous and serene. Frisby Cottage has everything you need and is clean and cosy. Tina and Jock were very friendly hosts; always checking in with us, giving us tips on the area, tours around the property and even including us when they had friends over for drinks. Our highlight was watching a storm roll in; just so relaxing. We hope to come back!

    Annette2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Frisby cottage is a lovely place to stay and gives you that country life feeling. Closeby Orange for some wine tasting and still far away enough from town to relax and unwind. Tina is a lovely host and she will make you feel at home. Highly recommended!

    Marlous2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Frisby Cottage is a genuine hidden gem. It was lovely, comfortable and the hosts, Tina, Jock, family and pets were all very hospitable. The accommodation was exactly as listed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again or to recommend the accommodation to anyone else travelling in the area. It is in a great location between Orange, Cowra and Forbes so it is an excellent base for anyone doings trips in the region.

Located on a 1000 acre Black Angus Cattle property is this beautiful Tin Shed, recreated from a cool room and a tool room into a stylish studio with ensuite. A lovely little deck off the front finishes it to perfection. Enjoy walking around the property or strolling through the picture perfect gardens of Koolabah Farm.
You are free to wander the 1000 acres of rolling landscape
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jacki's place! The Tin Shed was beautifully cosy and gleaming with rustic charm, whilst having modern amenities for comfort. The farm itself is STUNNING and set on 1000 acres of land which you're free to explore for some beautiful walks. Jacki and her family made us feel very welcome, even bringing us freshly laid eggs to cook for breakfast! Locationwise, the Farm is set on Cargo Road, so you're a stones throw from some of the best wineries in Orange and only 10-15mins from Orange Town centre. We will be definitely coming to stay again.

    Jon2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely farm - amazing scenery and views of nothing but nature. Such a cute little converted shed, thoughtful touches and so Jacki parents were so lovely bringing us fresh eggs and bread and bubbly wine! We had a fab stay. You will need a car to explore but a great place to get away from All the hustle and bustle of the Main Street of Orange. Would recommend in a heart beat!

  • If you are looking to stay anywhere near Orange, this is the place. Sarah has set up gorgeous accommodation with every thing you could need. She took the time to especially greet myself and my girlfriend, show us to the studio and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Her accommodation makes you feel cared for and the location view in the morning is soul reviving. Our only regret was that our stay was only one night. Just perfect!

Orange also boasts many excellent restaurants, bars and shops. There are lovely walks around the area. There are 3 golf courses in Orange. There are markets, and a food and wine festival held once a year.
  • Thank you so much Sarah & Mike! We had such a lovely time at your beautiful house with our two young children. Your house was beautifully set up for families! The little touches such as collecting eggs and feeding the cattle were so well-received by our little 'city kid'. Your local knowledge and recommendations were appreciated as we sat down to a lovely home cooked roast meal on arrival with a glass of wine once the kids were in bed! The location is a great distance out of town to enjoy the country, especially the beautiful sunsets. We'll definitely be back!

    Angela2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time with Sarah and Mike. Their home on the farm is so beautiful, with big windows that capture expansive views of the area - including a stunning sunset. Their home looks like something from the pages of an Australian Country Style magazine and is married with their warm and down to earth nature From the moment we met we felt so very welcome and at home. We enjoyed unwinding by the open fire with some delicious cheese and crackers, having some nice chats, as well as a family game of scrabble and a lego challenge. The bedrooms were so comfortable with electric blankets and heaters and a/c as needed and the bathroom was very modern and attractive. Mike and Sarah were so kind and generous with our two children, having them help collect eggs from the chickens and feed their cows. We were lucky enough to sample some of Sarah's home made chocolate pudding as well- another highlight! We felt the location was an easy drive to Orange and next time we would use it as a base to explore Orange - with space and farm life to come home to for the family as a nice way to end the day. Highly recommended. Lovely people and lovely stay! Thanks so much, Michelle and Chris

  • What to say about Sarah and Mike..... Staying in their beautiful home was a dream that I never knew I had. The minute we arrived at the bottom of the gravel road, Mike was awaiting us to escort us back to the house - now that's service. We arrived to the most magnificently lit home on the top of a rise. My friends and I looked to each other and knew that we were in for a treat. The home is breath-taking in every way and was such a pleasure to inhabit. Having two bedrooms and our own enormous bathroom was lovely, that long warm shower after a days driving was bliss. The fire warmed the whole house and our beds were all kinds of comfortable. We paid extra to have dinner, dessert and a few cheeky glasses of wine with Mike and Sarah and loved talking to them about their lives and local community. Sarah and Mike allowed us the space to do our own thing or enjoy their company which was perfect. We sat by the fire well into the night drinking tea and reading poetry from some of the many books placed around the home. Breakfast was just as delightful as we saw the views of the landscape as the sun came up. One night was not long enough and I am dying to come back again soon! Thank you for such a treasured stay.

  • A beautiful welcoming wonderful home to spend a holiday in - Sarah and Mike were wonderful hosts who were incredibly welcoming and who made what was to be an ordinary break away into a very special first weekend visiting the orange region. We opted for evening meals to be cooked and these were just beautiful. Mike and Sarah left no detail out and even had some beautiful toys for our girls to play with along with board games and great books. We were able to enjoy many aspects of their stunning farm. The home was warm and welcoming and and exceptional in a beautiful location with amazing sunsets and views . Mike and Sarah were excellent tour guide and gave us great ideas of places to visit during our stay. They also got the balance between time spent with them and our own family time together perfectly. We absolutely loved their company and the many tales from their interesting life on the land. For us, in the end it felt like saying goodbye to 2 people we had known for very long time. Our girls have come away with great memories of their wonderful experiences at the house. The breakfast served absolutely lovely too - we could not recommend this accommodation more highly and we certainly hope to return very soon. Thank you once again Mike and Sarah for our wonderful weekend

  • Sarah and Mike were very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The food was amazing and the place was beautiful. We will be definitely be re visiting in the future

  • Our stay was fantastic and I have reported Mike (our host) to the Guinness Book Of Records for being the nicest bloke in Australia. The accommodations were magnificent and beautiful views and woke to a delicious breakfast. The place was clean and comfortable and we were treated like royalty. We will be back if they'll have us All you could ever hope for from an Air B&B experience. Highly recommended !

    Michael2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah went above & beyond to look after us during our stay. It felt like we were staying with close family/friends but with all the features of a BnB. Sarah was wonderful with our boys, showing them around the farm & giving them an unforgettable experience feeding their cattle. The optional add-in of a home cooked dinner was a welcome addition to our road trip. The property is stunning & easily accessible to Orange. Heifer Station wines just down the road was also a wonderful recommendation where the kids could play with farm animals while we tasted wines in peace :)

    Julie2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay with Sarah and Mike. They were great hosts. They welcomed us into their home and were very concerned for our comfort. Sarah met us at the main road so it was easy to know where to turn off and then lead us up to the house. The house is lovely with comfortable beds in quiet rooms. The second toilet in the guest area was really good for a family of five. The main living area is a big kitchen/living/dinning space with a beautiful view where we ate Sarah's breakfasts. And in the cooler evenings there was a fire which made everything warm. Sarah and Mike were more than happy to let our children trail behind them, answering their questions and letting them join in around the farm. We'd would happily stay here again!

Set overlooking the vineyard the homestead is an authentic Australian Farm Stay. Three elegant and comfortable bedrooms and large open living space and kitchen. In summer relax on the verandah and in winter you can enjoy the wood fire. A great place for a friends weekend away or to take the family and experience a working farm in colourful Orange.
The Swagman Homestead is located at Stockman's Ridge Wines and is a comfortable and cozy farm stay with 3 bedrooms a large living area with Kitchen. Great for a friends weekend away or a family escape to the country.
Orange has 4 very distinct seasons and is called the colour city for just that reason. At our doorstep you will find amazing food and places to dinner, wineries to wet your tastebuds, plenty of seasonal local produce as well as lots of places to shop from the big store to cute and intimate boutiques. For those with a inkling for the history of the region, explore the regions golden past and visit one of the many museums that inform and display the diverse history of the region. The broader region is also home to an umber of cultural and arts centres, including the Orange Regional Gallery but also many of the villages have exhibitions and shows on any given week through out the year. Orange like many regions has gone bike crazy with both Mountain bikes and cycling available. There a load of walking trails, 4WD, helicopter tours, hot air balloon rides and dragon boating just to name a few. Orange is also home to three golf courses and there is also a number of golf course located in the regions villages.
  • We have just had the most amazing weekend at this house. The setting is stunning and the property itself is everything you could wish for; comfortable, warm, welcoming and well-equipped. The nights we spent drinking delicious wine by the fire pit have given us the most wonderful memories. The place is really safe for kids and ours really, really enjoyed their time here. They've had a ride in a tractor and on a quad bike and are currently picking strawberries from the garden. A great family weekend away!

  • On arrival to the homestead my wife Lisa, Molly (Pet Dog), and I were greeted by Jonathan and his parter Kayley. We were welcomed with the fireplace lit giving the homestead a warm homely feeling. The freshly painted, new furnished accommodation was a lovely stay and exactly what my wife and I were expecting. Exactly what we needed to re-energise, peacful sleeping at the street light free and quiet property before returning to the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Jonathan had lots of information to share and reccommendations for the local town from wining, dining, local produce grocers and pointed us in the right direction for Pet Friendly cafe`s. The property swagman homestead is on, Stockman's Ridge wines, was amaizing. It is a working vineyard that Jonathan allowed us complete access. We walked through the vines and over the back of the homestead to the Orchard fields where cherry and pear trees were planted. I am looking forward to visiting again during the next harvest. Jonathan told us of his bull 'Dozer' in the back paddock that he has hand raised. Dozer was very friendly and allowed us to pat him. Stockman's Ridge wines not only is a working vineyard but has plenty of relaxing areas from barrel chairs around a fire pit to enjoying a game of ring toss (Horseshoes) on nicely manicured lawns. The celler door is where Kayley offered myself tasting of the full range of wines. I quite enjoyed the 2009 Outlaw Shiraz and 2014 Rider Merlot, so much so I had to purchase a couple more bottles to take home as the others were enjoyed around the fire in the homestead. The immediate yard of the swagman homestead is pet friendly and completely enclosed to secure pets. Our little Maltese Terrier Molly loved laying in the sun on the back deck. Also a vegie patch was open for picking of our choice to use in the kitch from the yard. All in all it was a great weekend away had by us all and we are looking forward to inviting friends along with us for our future stay.

  • Absolutely stunning country setting weekend getaway! We loved every minute of our stay. The wine, surroundings and setting was stunning. Peanut the minature dachshund running around the cellar door is a sight you don't want to miss when visiting orange! Thanks so much Jonathan we will be back.

  • I stayed with a mate at Jonathan's, which is located on a rural property ~15 mins drive from Orange. A beautiful spot, and right on the vineyards, as well as being within close striking distance of Mt Canobolas, Lake Canobolas and a whole host of wineries. A comfortable spot for a quiet weekend away, but well-appointed if you're planning to holiday with family/friends. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Richard2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay in the homestead. The vineyard was set in a delightful position only 10 minutes drive from Orange. The view from the house was over the lake and very relaxing and peaceful. We were able to have our dog "Bonnie" stay with us and she had a lovely holiday too. The bed was very comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed the slow combustion heater which was set ready to light as it turned cold on the last day.

This self contained guest house has everything you may need for a rural romantic getaway. The location of this guest house creates views that are unparalleled of the Central West and Mount Canobolas. This guest house is only 10 minutes drive from the rural city of Orange - a town with an ever increasing reputation of having brilliant food and wine. We are located on the regions first property to grow grapes, and your stay will only make you want to come back again!!!
Set on the edge of Lidster Hill, this gazebo was originally built and utilised by the family during the construction of the main living quarters. The space contains a kitchen (full sized fridge, 90cm gas oven, gas hot plates, sink, dishwasher), and a main living area (free to air tv, queen sized bed). A marble lined bathroom (shower and sink) can be accessed externally (Note that during winter that the 1 metre walk to the bathroom can get very cold!!!). The courtyard has a gas BBQ and gas heater, as well as a large glass table that can seat 6 people.
The guesthouse is located approximately 70 metres away from the main homestead, and approximately 400 metres from the next house. Orange has long been associated with fine wine, with many vineyards being located within 5km of the property. The gazebo is located on a vineyard itself, which was home to the first wine grapes planted in the region in 1980. If cider is your beverage of choice, then you'd like to try Small Acres Cider, which is located straight across the road. The region is now home to 3 craft breweries, the closest of which is the Borenore Brewhouse approximately 3km drive down Borenore Road. Orange and its surrounding villages are also home to some brilliant restaurants. These include 3 restaurants with chef hats, and many more that deserve one. Personally we recommend the following: Fine dining: Tonic (in Millthorpe), Racine (Nashdale), Lolli Redinis (in Orange) Great undervalued dining: Mr Lims (Korean), Mr Sushi King (Japanese), Fiorinis (Italian), Charred (Tapas), The Patmos (Greek) Pubs (with great food): The Parkview Hotel, The Canobolas Hotel, Late night hotspots: Hotel Orange, The Royal Hotel. Local sightseeing: Mount Canobolas (great walking and mountain bike tracks), Lake Canobolas, Gosling Creek Parks: Cook Park, Robertson Park Golf Courses: Duntryleague Golf Club, Wentworth Golf Club, Ex Services Golf Club.
  • Absolutely beautiful setting. Perfect place to go for some peace and relaxation. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

    Lisa2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Harry and Sophie's place is a unique experience. It's a beautiful cabin on the top of a hill overlooking farmland and a winery. It's hexagonal shape gives it a great view and access to the sunrise and sunset. There were all necessary amenities including a kitchen, shower, AC etc. The location is only 15 minutes out of Orange and very close to lots of Wineries in the area. Our AC wasn't working at the time, but Harry and Sophie were so helpful and quick with communication, and dropped us off a heater which kept us nice and warm in the heart of winter (mid-July). The only issue we had was the place was a bit dusty and some of the kitchen utensils were unclean i.e. pans and cutlery. We did minimal cooking so it wasn't an issue. The bed was clean and very comfortable though.

    Carolyn2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Gazebo is in a beautiful location - stunning views. Signage could be improved at the entrance to the property. While the bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of kitchen ammenities, the aircon was not working during our stay which made the room quite cold. Also be aware that to get to the bathroom you must walk outdoors (though only a couple of meters).

    Eve2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do it justice!! Waking up to the sunrise over the fields and hills was very picturesque and to add to it there were lots of lambs and sheep walking around making if feel even more peaceful. Sophie and Harry are very responsive and helpful with suggestions of what to do around the area and upon arrival, it was very clear and easy to get into the place. My partner and I will definitely be going back in summer time for another amazing stay!

    Nicolina2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend at Harry's place! Absolutely serene and amazing environment! The house was beautiful and sunrise and sunset are a must from the lovely view right from your bedroom! We had so many sheeps grazing right outside our window!! Amazing time, lovely host and a beautiful home indeed! Will definitely be back in the future!

    Sahil2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little spot. The views are second to none and there's something for everyone nearby from wineries to walks or just relaxing at the guesthouse with a bottle of wine. We would gladly recommend to anyone.

    Natalie2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, peaceful retreat Harry and Sophie's gazebo is! Only 10 minutes drive from the main town so close enough but also far enough away for spectacular mountain views from every window of the gazebo! What a sight to wake up to! Clean and tidy with really good heating for the chilly nights. Easy check in/out. Although I didn't get to meet Harry or Sophie, they were only a message away with prompt replies. Thank you for a lovely weekend away!

  • Stunning 270 degree vista of rural beauty right outside! Good for a taste of rural life with birds sheep and vineyards. It was great to sit outside and enjoy breakfast in the sunshine and the watch the sunset in the evening. The gazebo is a cozy one bed studio with a decked out kitchen. Perfect for a couple getaway. Easy to get to Orange and surrounding places. Harry and Sophie were great hosts helping and asking us if we needed anything. Would love to come again!

  • Fantastic new eco friendly home. Modern design, high quality furniture and appliance, very comfortable beds. The house is extremely well insulated so it's quiet and warm. Close to orchards, vineyards, attractions like lake Canobolas and Mt Canobolas is a huge bonus for us. Safely arrived home. 3 hours and 10 minutes from your house tol my place Maggie is passionate for food. We love everything that she cooked, wholemeal bread, oak biscuits, jam, roast strawberries and more. They are healthy and delicious. Highly recommended for future guests.

  • This a lovely place to stay. Maggie and Ron are wonderful hosts welcoming with laughter, thoughtfulness and openness. The house is small but perfectly equipped with everything you need to feel at home. It was warm and inviting and the homemade bread and biscuits were perfection. They are just starting out and have begun planting trees and continuing to make sure that they are environmentally sufficient - all to be applauded. Only 15 mins to Orange (town) and so very close to all the new and innovative restaurants and cafes popping up all over town! A must stay, and we will return!

Part of a historic farmhouse, this apartment has its own entry. Peaceful surrounds full of birds and native wildlife. Picnic by the creek and look for the local platypus family (if you are quiet and patient)
Animals on Bikes is a 120km "Paddock Art" sculpture tourist trail between Molong and the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, via Cumnock and Yeoval. At the start of the trial is 'Purlah', our very own platypus on a bike. Molong is only 32 kms from Orange and the main street, being early Austen-European, is classified by the National Trust and you will discover many other beautiful historic buildings scattered throughout the town. Another point of history and interest is the grave of Aboriginal guide to Thomas Mitchell, Yuranigh, described by Mitchell as "guide, companion and friend", Yuranigh accompanied him on his expedition to Queensland in 1845. When Mitchell heard of his death, he paid for the headstone on his grave, which you will find a short distance from town. Yuranigh was buried according to aboriginal custom with carved trees at each corner of his grave, which indicated he was a man of special honour. Molong has an excellent array of cafés, a supermarket and two pubs. Good coffee and breakfast/ lunch is available at the local bakery from 6.30 a.m. 7 days a week.

  • It’s the kind of country homestead that dreams are made of - Historic period architecture with Art Nouveau wonder; a stunning old world, established garden; cherished pet sheep & lovely, caring hosts. We wanted to get out of Sydney for Christmas and managed to find this little treasure when everything else was booked out. Genine welcomed us with inviting us over for Christmas lunch - but we really just wanted a day of nothingness - quiet time, and loved it. This accommodation is spotless, homely and very comfortable with a gleaming white bathroom, comfy beds & every small detail you can think of. We loved our stay - you won’t be disappointed - I will definitely return

  • The Old School House Molong is truly beautiful. Honestly, words cannot possibly do the gorgeous heritage listed building the justice it deserves. Suffice to say, our stay was absolutely incredible. Our host Kate was ever so warm too, and a delight to deal with. We cannot recommend the Old School House Molong more highly enough: 11/10 - beyond perfect!

    Felipe2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Molong is a lovely little town and it's a pleasure to be able to stay in one of its historic buildings. It is true that the house has been tastefully restored and that the gardens are gorgeous. Communication with Kate was prompt, friendly and accurate. It's a fairly new listing with one or two minor maintenance issues to be addressed, but we would definitely recommend staying here if coming through the area. We chose the Old School House in Molong over staying in Orange and were not disappointed.

    Angela2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend away, the house was beautiful and so comfortable. It has everything you could need for a great weekend away.

    Elizabeth2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Septemb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) We have just spent 6 nights at the Old School House and loved every minute of it. The house was beautifully presented and though wonderfully spacious it was cosy and warm when needed to be. Facilities all in good working order. It's location is within easy walking distance into town for a delightful browse and places to eat. We would recommend the Freemason Hotel for a good Pub meal any night of the week. The local Spar supermarket was well stocked and fresh fruit and vegetables were of a high quality for those wishing to make a meal back "home". We chose Molong as our home base to explore, at a leisurely pace, the surrounding area in a different direction each day. We did this and managed to fit in a couple of rounds of golf. The Wentworth Golf Course in Orange was an enjoyable course to play. The areas were a delight in early spring and no doubt can look even better other times of the year. Thanks Kate

    Cath2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kates place is really a fabulous surprise, it's a very big open airy and light space with loads of character. Easy and clear messages helped us find her place and let ourselves in. Kate was great about allowing us to stay a little longer on checkout day, so we could freshen up after cherry picking and avoid travelling in the the midday heat. All up really terrific stay in an inspiring space, wish it could've been longer!

Orange is a popular food and wine region and we highly recommend visiting some of the local attractions. Please feel free to ask us for some hot tips
  • Truly located in wine country, just outside Orange city, its far enough for you to feel you are in the country but close enough for you to eat at the best restaurant in town. All we heard at night was the frogs outside and mindfullness is automatic. A comfortable standalone building with a bedroom and ensuite. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fancy touch lamp. We had access to an outdoor covered area, with a fridge, where you can sit and watch the sun set. Shirley's airbnb was a great find and we will definitely want to stay again.

Shirley and Alan are a lovely, engaging, friendly and incredibly hospitable couple who made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. They have a beautiful and serene property about 10 mins out of town. Shirley invited me on two enjoyable evening walks with her delightful Labradors, Dixie and Des. The seperate living, with private ensuite, was very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Shirley and Alan and highly recommend their home and hospitality to anyone!

  • "The Resting Place" as Neil calls his home is certainly that. We were lucky enough to stay there for four nights over the Christmas weekend. The house was immaculately clean, large and welcoming. Fresh linen, milk, butter and eggs in the fridge. Such warm hospitality was welcome after a long drive. Molong is a beautiful little town and there is lots to do in the district.

The home is very comfortably spacious, with full amenities , restful garden, lawns and swimming pool, and outdoor eating area. It is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and with views at the front over rolling hills into the distance. The internet was great. Neil and Meg were very helpful with checkin and any queries during our stay.

    Phillip2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful! This is a super house and would definitely recommend a visit. Close to Orange and easy to do day trips to Dubbo (zoo) and Parkes and the Wellington caves are just a short hop away. The description and photos barely do the house justice. It really is a fabulous place and it was a privilege to be able to stay here - this is what Airbnb is about - finding a home from home. The pool was a big added bonus too - our boys (8 and 10) loved it. Water was a bit cold in October but the heating took the edge off it and made it possible to enjoy a good dip. We had a fabulous time. Definitely will be looking to come back. Loved it. You will too I’m sure.

  • This is one of those rare finds that Airbnb is becoming known for. A genuinely wonderful old stylish home high ceilings, large comfortable rooms bags and bags of character, oozing charm and surrounded by wonderful gardens full of the most aromatic flowers. We staid in the 3 bed annex which was perfect for our family of 5. Genine and John are superb hosts, great to chat to and full of little titbits of how to get the most from the area. The beds all had brand new high quality mattresses which ensured a genuinely good nights sleep. My wife commented that this was one of the few places we had been were she slept better than on our own bed at home. The small creek that runs near the house is across a field and over three fences and extremely safe for kids, but easy to get to if an adult is there is help. But contains a gem, wild Platypus which if you are quiet will come out early evening and can be easily watched from the river bank. The house is about 20 mins. easy driving from Orange. We will defiantly be back.

    david2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Genine's house is an historic homestead with delightful art nouveau features representative of the era in which the house was built. The cottage garden is lovely and the walk into town through the sheep paddocks and poplar avenue is very enjoyable. The recommendation to take the walk and eat at the local pub was rewarding. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and beds comfortable.

  • Such a treat to stay in this majestic historical home set within a lovely garden surrounded by beautiful birdsong. The apartment was traditionally and tastefully furnished with lots of space. We enjoyed a stroll into Molong town for a drink in the evening and fresh bread in the morning. We will definitely be back!

  • It is definitely a lovely place to go with your family or partner! If you love the countryside and wanna go somewhere to enjoy the quietness and true nature, it won't let you down! The house is located in a farm, so when u open the windows, u can be astonished by the great view. The host was really welcoming. They shared the good wine and beer from Tasmania and told us the story of different parts of the farm .Genine even showed us the historical architecture near our house. It made me feel I were in the scene of Downton Abbey hah. This place will not only give u a dream house but also give u the real experience of living as a host in a farm! What we are regretful is that we didn't book a one more night there!

  • My wife, 20-month old and my parents had a great 3 night stay to see in the New Year. We loved looking at the little details of the space, trying to imagine what it might have been like all those years ago. Having a view of the mighty support beams from the loft bed was a real treat. The kitchen was roomy and gas cooktops were great. The living area was very pleasant to relax in. Molong is a lovely little town that was unfortunately (for us) all but closed over the Xmas/NY break. As we were only 20 minutes from some nice wineries, half an hour from Orange and 45mins from lovely Millthorpe, we still found plenty to do. Thanks Kate, for sharing your place with us.

  • The old school house has been beautifully restored. It was a great place to stay, and would be great value for two couples to share, or is a wonderful private retreat for two.

  • The perfect romantic getaway. Superb location and surroundings with a very thoughtful host - Andrew was very kind and generous with his gorgeous cottage. Beautifully decorated, perfectly clean with an amazing amount of information about locals spots and wineries. Not to mention a lovely bottle of wine on arrival and bacon and eggs to cook up each day. We can't wait to come back!

  • Dragonfly cottage is absolutely perfect to relax and enjoy the tranquility and the calm of the country side. You want to disconnect from the reality for a bit, this place will offer you everything you need to be totally autonomous and enjoy the company of the person you decide to come with. Lovely romantic get away. (Mosquitos sensitive, insects coil is a must! :) )

    Caroline2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place, Dragonfly Cottage is located in a sublimely, quiet, scenic location, close to Orange & many local wineries. The cottage is very new, extremely comfortable and contained everything we required for a long weekend away. Tastefully furnished, and a great touch; a local wine, dips & biscuits to get us started. Andrew is the perfect host, with plenty of great recommendations for a local meal or touring ideas.

    Malcolm2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location was very quiet and relaxing. The accommodation was excellent, very modern with clean lines, all windows captured a vista of the countryside. The accommodation met all our expectations and more. Easy access to the centre of town for shopping, lunch or dinner only a ten minute drive. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would be happy to recommend this accommodation to family and friends.

    Colleen2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about the little cabin. It's modern, clean and warm, with incredible sunset in front of our window. It was a perfect romantic getaway.

    Ella2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Andrews cottage was divine. The view, the serenity and the ease of access were fantastic. Andrew was a great host. Lovely and easy to communicate with. Lots of unexpected extras including hand feeding the alpacas were lovely. A perfect cozy base to explore Orange and surrounds. We highly recommend dragonfly cottages.

    Jessica2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We planned a last minute long weekend away for FOOD week in Orange and stumbled upon this gem. Andrew's cabin is absolutely stunning- beautifully furnished, modern but still homely and very clean. Location wise, it is just a close 10 mins from Orange town centre, but feels so secluded and private. There are sheep and llamas wandering around the property, they're so cute and friendly. The view from the property is just picture perfect - enjoy a glass of wine watching the sun set over the hills. The bed is SO comfortable and the kitchenette has everything you need for a weekend away. Given all the food options in Orange, we didn't cook but Andrew supplied tea / coffee / milk which was handy. Andrew also left handy brochures / guides for some tourist ideas. Andrew was really good to deal with - responsive and helpful. Getting into the cabin was not an issue though finding the property in the dark would be a little hard! Suggest you arrive whilst it's still daylight. My husband and I would definitely be back when we are visiting Orange again.

    Kirsten 2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Dragonfly Cottages looking for a country getaway with creature comforts and beautiful surroundings, but what we got was so much more! The cottage itself felt brand new and strategically set on a picturesque sunset back drop, with Andrews main residence set separately giving us our own privacy. He was kind enough to let us wonder onto his property along with feeding his Alpaca’s! Andrew was incredibly accomodating, having a bottle of wine waiting for us along with dip and crackers, and sourcing eggs and bacon for us to cook in the morning. We’ll be back for sure!

Forest Edge is close to Mt Canobolas Recreation Park and Orange Wine region cellar doors, fifteen minutes from the centre of Orange, and has a quiet location with expansive vineyard outlook.. You’ll love our place because of the outdoor space, the ambiance, the light, the lack of neighbours. It is a working vineyard so, at certain times of year you can be overlooking the pruning, picking or general maintenance of the vineyard.. Forest Edge House is good for groups of couples and families.
The home has a great deck across the front of the house and around one side, with glorious views.
Forest Edge Vineyard house is unique in Orange. Surrounded by very well know vineyards and with spectacular views. Close to many well regarded cellar doors

  • We had a wonderful, wonderful stay. The house is a spacious, comfortable and luxurious haven situated conveniently close to Orange and nestled amidst a gorgeous landscape of rolling hills and cherry orchards. Mark is an attentive and responsive host who made sure that we had everything that we needed and quickly resolved any questions we had. His detailed house manual is impressively thorough and if the above wasn't enough, the house also has fast NBN internet. Loved it and highly recommend!

    Rob2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a lovely place to stay! Mark was super helpful and friendly, and the iBook and guide were full of great tips. The house is really thoughtfully set out with everything we needed and big enough that when staying there for my mum's birthday with my sisters and our partners that everyone had enough space. The sheep were so cute and friendly! We got the cuddle the baby lambs which was a huge plus. Would come back again :)

    Bridie2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic and perfect for a country getaway. The Host Mark is without a doubt one of the friendliest people you'll ever engage with which fills you with confidence which is entirely justified when you arrive.

  • We are seriously torn writing this review. We loved this house so much we don't want to let anyone else know about it! This is the most amazing place - incredible setting (rural, amongst an orchard with amazing views), spacious and cozy and every conceivable convenience catered for. We had the most amazing time thanks to the incredible owners Mark and Lisa. They were so attentive, not only via their emails (and some phone calls and texts) but also by providing helpful information about Orange and their beautiful property. This was without a doubt the most comfortable and enjoyable Air BNB accommodation experience we have ever had. What more can we say? WOW!!

    Philippa2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • A return visit and loved just as much as the first. Snowgums is really a beautiful, peaceful place.

    Ivy2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous weekend we just had at Mark's Snowgums Retreat! Mark was an absolutely fabulous host who went out of his way to ensure we were happy and content in his lovely farm house that was so well equipped -- truly a superhost. The house was beautifully decorated and cosy -- the beds all very comfy too. The surrounding area is gorgeous with rolling hills and views. Lots of room for the kids to run and play (and feed the sheep and lambs) and comfy spots for the adults to have a glass of wine at the end of the day. Great wifi, Netflix and Sonos system too. I really can't say enough about how lovely the house and Mark are! I highly recommend this property for those who want a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city in a beautiful area of country NSW.

  • Nestled on the side of a very quiet volcano, “Snowgums Retreat” looks over a counterpane of apple orchards rolling down to the town of Orange. Sheep, affectionately named for members of President Trump’s family, safely graze in a field Outside the kitchen window. 15 minutes by car from the bright lights of Orange, where you can choose between hatted restaurants and kebab shops, this recently restored farmhouse is an ideal base for a reconnaissance into high altitude wine country. June is cold, even the locals were complaining, but “Snowgums Retreat” is well heated with Netflix and Wi-Fi. We woke to the choral music of magpies. While the sheep I found not much for conversation, they are good listeners. Which is just what I was looking for in a weekend away.

    Liz2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Mark, thanks for sharing your lovely home with us. We really enjoyed our stay. The outlook was beautiful. Sheep watching was entertaining and made us feel right at home. The decor was lovely and created a warm welcoming feel. The multiple living areas meant that we had plenty of space. We loved all of the different views. The back verandah was also really well done. The bedrooms were generous in size and the beds were comfortable. The room with the single beds had a lovely feel and was perfect for children. Your communication was fabulous and we really appreciated the goodies that were stocked in the fridge. We would love to stay again on future visits to Orange.

  • Lovely house on a property about 20 minutes out of Orange. Comfortable with nice linen and spacious rooms. Netted area outside so could sit outside without being bothered by flies. Kids loved seeing cows although need to stay in area of house and couldn’t explore as working farm. Good tips for nearby cafes and lovely to have eggs/ milk and bread for when we arrived. We felt a little expensive for its position but would recommend for a quiet stay outside Orange.

The property is feature packed including a private entrance, living room, queen bedroom, ensuite, washing machine, heating/cooling, free WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast for the first morning of your stay.
Suburban Nest Apartment is part of a dual occupancy completed in December 2016 and is perfect for couples, families and friends. You will be moments (five minutes or less) from all the best Orange has to offer – cellar doors, restaurants, pubs, cafes, farmers markets, boutiques, golf courses, gardens, parks and playgrounds. Wentworth Golf Club, including the 19th View Restaurant and Bar sits on the edge of the subdivision. Within walking distance but there is a notable hill in the way - which you might not feel on the way to the Clubhouse but might be more of a problem on the way home - noting that Orange cabbies are more than happy to pop you home again if you end up having tooo much fun. The Ploughmans Lane/Cargo Road Wetlands also sits between the Golf Club and subdivision and is a wonderful place for your morning or afternoon walk or to let the kids run free on the boardwalk spotting wildlife and chasing sticks downstream. The "Pinnacle Wine District" starts a stones throw from Suburban Nest. This is a prime agriculture area and features a range of food produce outlets and several wineries including: Philip Shaw, Colmar Estate, Ross Hill, Brangayne, Word of Mouth Wines, Pinnacle Wines and Borrodell Estate. The long loop around Pinnacle Road starts next to the subdivision and passes Lake Canobolas and the Lakehouse Café and ends at a T-intersection with Cargo Road. Turn left to discover the “Cargo Road Wine District” including: Rowlee, Dindima, Cargo Road Winery, Gordon Hills, Canobolas Smith, Stockmans Ridge as well as Small Acres Cyder. Not far (Pinnacle Road/Mount Canobolas Road) is the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area which offers birdwatching, walking, scenic views and pretty picnic areas. Mount Canobolas, an ancient volcano, stands 1395 metres above sea level and is the highest peak between the Blue Mountains and the Indian Ocean. A stunning 360-degree view from the summit encompasses the city of Orange, the rolling countryside and the Blue Mountains in the distance. You can drive to the summit. It is impossible to list here all of the other cellar doors, restaurants, pubs, cafes, farmers markets, boutiques, day spas, golf courses, gardens, parks and playgrounds. I think you should come and see for yourself!!
  • This was such a lovely stay. Everything was absolutely spotless and brand new. So much attention to detail. Every little thing we might need was there including maps, sightseeing information, bathroom necessities even chocolates by the bed! The kitchen had everything you would need for a weekend away- it had more utensils than I have in my whole house! The room was kept at a perfect temperature our whole stay, we always felt so comfortable even when it was 1 degree outside. Did not hear a peep from our hosts, private entry and beautiful rural outlook, with heaps of natural light. Kathryn was extremely prompt in replying to my messages and questions so every thing ran super smoothly. The unit is in a new suburban estate, but the private apartment is so secluded, the amenities are top notch, the outlook is so beautiful and it's only a few minutes from town so you don't notice any houses around you. We just felt like we were in a brand new modern BnB in the country. Will certainly be returning and recommending to friends.

The apartment is FAR better than staying in any hotel in Orange...due to the space/and modern design. The drive back into town was only a few minutes. Kathryn is a wonderful communicator. Highly recommend this place...you won't be disappointed!

  • Kathryn’s home is beautiful. Clean, spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable weekend away. Every detail from tea and coffee supplies and orange juice to shampoo and conditioner was thought off and we were made to feel at home throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this property for anybody thinking of coming to Orange. Thank you!

  • The perfect place to stay while visiting Orange. Certainly felt like a home away from home for the 4 nights we stayed there. In a quiet neighbourhood only 5 minutes from the centre of town. Looking forward to our next visit!

Our flat features a queen size bed, two small tables and chairs, sofa (can be used as a single bed). Separate en-suite with shower, vanity and toilet through louvre doors. There is a toaster, jug, cups, glasses, plates a water jug with filtered water, a selection of tea and coffee and a selection of breakfast cereals. There is a bar-fridge and microwave. Heating is underfloor, off peak, comes on at night for cold weather. A portable airconditioner and ceiling fan for the hotter weather.
Self contained flat (microwave cooking facility only) a separate building at the rear of a suburban cottage environment.
This area is well renowned for its specialised, fruit growing and gourmet food. Wine growers cater for tourists offering wine tasting at many cellar doors. There are dozens within a few km. Like wise in town there are wine bars that act as cellar doors for many of the local wineries plus lots of cafes & fine dining restaurants. For people who like a walk or run, the Wentworth golf course doubles as a beautiful park open to the public, best, first thing in the morning or around sunset, when there are no golf balls flying around. Walk up the road, (Coronation Drive) 50 m, cross the road to the right and go up the hill, (Green Lane) to the end of the road and through the pedestrian access gate.
  • I loved staying in the cottage at Alan & Mardi's. It is spacious, private, comfortable, close to town yet very quiet at night, actually excellent value for money. It has a nice shower & toilet ensuite, fridge, microwave & tea making facilities, comfortable bed, everything I needed for a good base whilst I worked in Orange. (Cereals for breakfast & milk provided too). Mardi & Alan are lovely people, I was free to be alone in my cottage or socialize with them in the main house and when I did join them, they were very welcoming & I loved our great chats. Would definitely stay there again if working in Orange again next year :)

  • Set in a very beautiful neighborhood and one of the most beautiful streets of orange, is this little paradise. It is a room, but it is also a separate self sufficient unit. Mardi is a designer herself, so she has taken care of all the little details. The bed is one of the most comfy I have found in any B&B listings.

  • Very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. The room out the back is very private with its own bathroom. Alan and Mardi are very hospitable and friendly. Excellent value for money.

  • This is the place to stay when visiting Orange.Alan and Mardi are the perfects hosts and their self contained unit is fantastic. Not only is it super clean,it is decorated beautifully and there are many little extras to make your stay even more comfortable.Milk in the fridge, unlimited cereal, enough fresh fruit to last you for a three day stay and oh I nearly forgot the bed is super comfy with heaps of soft pillows .Don't go past this AirBnb!

    Deborah2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely well furnished, well equipped unit in the rear garden of the main house. You enter via the main driveway past the side of the house so it is very private and quiet with no street noise. There is a very comfortable large bed for a god nights sleep. A couch, a table, two chiairs, microwave; in fact all you need for a great stay. There are also some really nice special touches that came as a pleasant surprise. It is only a short drive to the centre of Orange. We could not have wished for a better place to stay.

    Norm2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Alan and Mardi are warm welcoming hosts. The apartment is located on a main road in suburban Orange. It was a perfect base for my daily trips to and from neighbouring Molong

    sandra2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The stay with Alan and Mardi was fantastic. Being our first time using Air bnb we weren't sure what to expect but we felt instantly welcome and the room was fantastic. We took our dog Cooper along on the trip and they were very accommodating, even offering to let us keep him there a bit longer on the morning of our checkout while we went to get breakfast. Will most definitely stay with them again and highly recommend them to others!

    Amanda2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We can highly recommend Alan and Mardi's place. It was very nice, private (seperate building), pleasantly warm (floor heating), comfortable bed with double doonas, powerful shower, free Wifi and even chocolate Easter eggs! It is about a 20 min walk to the centre of town, so you can easily walk to dinner and back. Mardi was very friendly and we loved meeting their cat around the building!
