  • Maggie was delightful. Very friendly and more than helpful. We were lucky enough to meet her gorgeous grandson too. The property was spotless and spacious. We had an excellent time and returned home 2 days ago and have already booked for next year. Would highly recommend for a beautiful home away from it all.

  • We had a great time at Maggie's beautiful cottage and especially my kids loved every minute of their stay. Maggie has been kind and helpful host and I would recommend her cottage any time.

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and traveling to Scotland. We could not have envisioned having a better Hostess. We loved the thoughtful touches that made us feel welcomed and cared for. Maggie helped us feel at ease right from the start, offering ideas on getting us from point-A to point-B, places to eat and things to see in the area and she was quick to answer any questions and concerns that we had. She even met us at the rental to show us around. The accommodations were equally as welcoming for our party of (6) and provided quick and easy access to the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this Hostess and property, if you find yourself traveling near the area.

  • There is literally nothing negative I can say about our experience. The home is spacious, impeccably clean, beautiful and comfortable. Maggie was a wonderful host and she thought of everything we would need for a great stay down to the toys in the closet for the kids to reading lights on each side of each bed. It was wonderful to come home after a long day of sightseeing to a comfortable farmhouse, set a lovely fire and admire the gorgeous view from the family room.

    Diane2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular. Everything was perfect. Kid friendly and wonderful to see Maggie and Sandy's dairy farm nearby.

  • Fantastic holiday cottage with a nice open view! A spacious and pleasant house, very well equipped. We've had a warm welcome with home maid cake and fresh eggs and milk. Lovely big garden which our dog liked very much. Also nice and very restful surroundings, a good location for visiting lots of interesting sights including Edinburgh. We'd recommend!

    Vera2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful house with a great view of fields. We enjoyed the garden while kids were in their game room. The house has everything you need and more it is very clean. Maggie is a lovely host she met with us when we arrived and made a scrumptious cake for us. The house is short drive away from train stations where Edinburgh centre is only 30 minutes away. We stayed 3 families with kids from all ages and everyone enjoyed the stay. Kids made a visit to farm which was agreed bonus of the holiday. Thank you Maggie for such a lovely break we are looking forward to our next visit.

    Gamze2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing experience for my family to stay here. The house and views are just phenomenal for folks who are from busy cities. Maggie is a great host and made our stay very comfortable. She went beyond expectations in terms of helping place food orders, farm tour, booking airport cab etc.. She has maintained her house well and we felt at home. For folks who are planning to stay here, keep in mind that it is a bit remotely located so having a car is a must.

Welcome to beautiful historic Culross where you can walk through the centuries and stay in fabulous luxury at Cunninghame House. Within the village you can wander through the streets that have maintained many original features, so much so they have been used as film sets throughout recent years. A very comfortable two bedroom apartment which can sleep four comfortably or a lovely romantic bolt hole for two. A fantastic base for exploring Southern and Central Scotland.
Cunninghame House has beencompletely refurbished by a well regarded local building firm.
The lovely village has a renowned pub and restaurant the "Red Lion" famous for its friendly staff, there is also a pottery which has an adjoining coffee shop. You practically step out of the apartment and onto the Fife Coastal path which extends eastwards all the way round to St Andrews.
  • Honestly, I don't know how to start a list of all the great things about Gordon's house. Everything is just perfect. I never expected it to be that far-off from Edinburgh (it's very well connected to the cities but the bus frequency could be a bit restrictive) but I was surprised to have actually enjoyed our stay. We originally planned on doing day trips to several places in and around Scotland and Northern England, but seeing the house and the lovely and historic little village of Culross, we decided to drop some of them and spent 2 days staying home and slowly walking around the village - enjoyed the walk along the Fife coastal path, the walk to the ruins, on the cobbled streets, and even the playground. We would have loved to extend our stay but it's no longer possible given our plans for the rest of our UK holiday.

  • Lovely place. Very clean and well equipped. Comfy beds and loads of towels left for us, as well as cosy fluffy robes! Great shower in very modern fresh bathroom. Family really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. Lovely views from top floor too. Just a short walk round the corner to the Red Lion where we had a lovely meal. Good play park a wee bit further on and we also enjoyed a visit to the palace and its beautiful gardens. Thanks again Gordon for your lovely apartment.

  • Amazing place in an amazing setting. Would highly recommend.

    Edward2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with my Family and friends there. It was really more than what we expected. Arrangements made was really awesome. Had everything in place for a stay . All you need to carry is a free mind to enjoy the stay and place :) However it was little far from shops to get things, the place is really cool to stay away from work and stress. We are provided with Milk, bread, Cheese, Chocolates and eggs which was sufficient for breakfast. For lunch and dinner we need to get something or we can cook there, as we have all facilities there. I'm planning to be back with my friends again.

  • Lovely accommodation in a very pretty village with a great pub, we recommend a visit to the Place with great views and a abundant wild gardens. Great location for a run or cycle along the coastal path. The apartment was well kitted out for a short stay and was warm and welcoming. Gordon was very helpful with suggestions and kept us up to date with arrangements. We would definitively recommend staying there.

    Marie2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful apartment in a gorgeous village. Gordon has thought of everything!! Even supplied bread, milk, eggs etc for our arrival. Exceptionally clean and modern with a great use of space. Only problem we found was the fact we don't own the place :-D

  • I have stayed in 5* hotels which don't meet the standards of this place. Everything is of high quality from decor to hand wash. The host thought of everything. Light and modern yet home from home. Fantastic location, everything you wish for when staying away. Even had bread, milk etc waiting for us on arrival. Well done to the host he really has hot it spot on.

  • We loved the cottage, and it was in a beautiful location. There is a lot to do in the area, but at the same time it is very peaceful. We enjoyed walking in Dollar glen, and on the costal path. The red lion pub, which is walking distance is also very good.

    Joanne2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, well-equipped cottage with a delightful garden and an ideal location for access to the Fife coastal path. Anne and Gifford gave us a lovely welcome and we enjoyed a wonderful few days here. We would highly recommend this property.

  • What a wonderful little cottage. We stayed for one week in July, 2 adults and 2 children (8+14). plenty of room for everybody and very well equipped with all the little extras that make it a home from home. The cottage looks quite small from the outside but is deceptively spacious inside with a huge rear garden and a summer house at the end. Also for teenagers the WiFi works very well!!!. Loads of information/brochures there for things to do and where to eat/shop etc. Well located to visit Edinburgh and surrounding areas. We left the car at Dunfermline rail station and caught the train one day so we could experience the Forth rail bridge and on another occasion parked at the park and ride at Edinburgh airport (free) and got the tram into the city centre Thank you Gifford and Ann for allowing us to stay, we had a wonderful time and the weather was great for a change. We even had the pleasure of the Queen waving at us on the forth road bridge when we were walking there!!, an experience one 8yo little girl will never forget.

    Doug2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Gifford and Anne's cottage is what we would imagine a perfect place to stay. A quiet neighbourhood, a lovely garden with a summer house, which our kids adored, a fully-fitted kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms with books and CDs to make your stay even more pleasant. The cottage had it all and much more, but most of all it was a place 'with a heart', where all the details added to its cosines..Thank you Gifford and Anne. You truly are super-hosts!

    Ewa2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gifford and Anne's beautiful cottage made for a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The cottage was beautiful, well equipped, and so cozy! The location was excellent, easy for us to reach from Edinburgh on public transport. A car would be nice if you want to see much of the surrounding countryside, but we were happy to explore the nearby villages and countryside on foot. The house itself is absolutely lovely and had everything we could think to need. Gifford even stocked some basic food supplies for us before arriving, which was such a kind touch as the grocery shop is in the next town.

My cosy home with two bedrooms to rent in coastal village of Fife, near Dunfermline, Culross - set of TV's Outlander series, 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and its Festivals. Good public transport and easy travelling distance to Glasgow, Perth, Stirling.
A lovely double bedroom with en suite and a south facing single bedroom (at a separate charge) with a private bathroom based in a 19th century farm building, with a lovely garden. It is quiet, near the Firth of Forth, the home of a former BBC journalist who will try to ensure that your stay is comfortable and hassle free.
A 30 minute walk from an enchanting 16th century village called Culross that has been used in a number of International films. My home is based in a 19th century farm building, with a lovely garden. After ten years in London, I moved to a small coastal village in Fife, with loads of walks, gardens, places to jog and know many people who live here. There is great 16th century Inn in Culross called the Red Lion which serves good, reasonably priced food. My home is 4 miles from Dunfermline, the ancient capital of Scotland and burial place of Robert the Bruce and near Edinburgh which is a haven for international festivals in the summer.
  • The stay was Great and Susan a Great Great Host! Very warm recommendation!

  • The room was tidy and very spacious. Susan was a great, charming host. Thanks to Susan's openmindness, interesting background and communcative nature, the time passed so fast - we wished we could have stayed longer. Susan was supportive to all the special needs of our 6-month-old daughter and she loved Susan ;-).

  • My sister, partner and I have had the pleasure to stay at Susans's lovely home for two nights. We were looked after really well with food, company and directions. The room was spacious and super comfortable. We would like to thank her again for making our New Years achievable and fun! :-)

  • What a lovely time we had with Susan who is so welcoming and lively! Her house is very spacious, bright. quiet and cosy. On top of that, it is close to Edimburgh, which is so convenient. Susan is available and always ready to help. We highly recommend her place for all these reasons. Laurence, Jean-Marie, Béa.

  • we enjoyed the stay in susan's lovely home very much, room was very clean exactly like the pics and susan is very kind and helpful, she even helped us with laundry, new mills is a quiet place and with P+R has easy connection to Edinburgh.

    Tianming2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed in Susan's place before and really liked it, just as much as her warm welcome. Unfortunately there was a leak in the roof, just a few days before our scheduled trip, so we couldn't use the room, but Susan organised for us to stay with her sister, who lives nearby and kept in touch with us throughout to ensure that we have a good time. Everything was fine, her sister was just as nice (must be a family thing), and we're looking forward to stay again!

  • Bernadette & dougie were great host they open there house for us and expecting us late night , offered us every thing we want. Even they took us to their boat house as well my family and I had very good time.

    Imran2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bernadette and Dougie made our holiday very memorable and I can't find fault with anything that they have said or done, they really are great hosts.

    Emma2015-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay with Bernadette and Dougie. They were very welcoming and inviting. We stayed in their family room as the bunkhouse was too cold. It was very comfortable.

    Amy-Rose2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in the Bunkhouse in late August and were so, so pleased with the whole experience. Bernadette and Dougie made us feel so welcome and provided us with loads of helpful and interesting info about Bo'ness and the surrounding area. In the mornings Bernadette offered us a variety of breakfasts and countless mugs of coffee and tea. We felt very spoilt during the whole duration of our stay. It felt like visiting relatives. Would we come back? Absolutely, anytime. Hopefully it won't be too long!

    Karo2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, nice people and really good relationship with Bernadette and Dougie

    Benoit2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved to stay in Bo'ness with Bernadette and Dougie. Luckily we had really good weather, because otherwise the bunkhouse is pretty small to stay for 6 nights. The bunkhouse is small, but the garden is not, so there is enough space when the weather is good. Bernadette and Dougie are very friendly and very welcoming, and we could use the house all the time, so it would be okay when the weather is not that good. Bo'ness is pretty small and a lot of shops and pubs are closing. Before we arrived, we expected a train station because of the sign on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, but it is only for a steam train as a tourist attraction. Without a car it is not easy travelling to Edinburgh or another city, but Bernadette and Dougie were very kind to help us out. Though I would recommend to travel by car instead of public transport. Over all, we had a great holiday and were very happy to stay with Bernadette and Dougie.

    Annelieke2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We spend a lovely little holiday in Bo'ness, we could not find anything better..Your house, the garden, our room,it was our first time with airbnb and you made it special! The place, the stories you told, the boat, the advices, chatting, we really enjoyed it! It was a pleasure and you are very very nice people..We really hope to see you again :)

Warm, cosy, spacious apartment in historic Bo'ness, a few metres from the Hippodrome, Scotland's oldest public cinema. Great views to the Forth. The apartment is simply furnished with a number of retro and Scandi style features and offers very comfortable facilities for up to 4 guests.
This is an exceptional apartment with a mix of Scandinavian and local style details. There are spectacular views across the Forth with walks along the shore to the Scottish Railway Museum and other Outlander locations like Blackness Castle. The local cinema is the oldest in Scotland and is well worth a visit for film fans.
Bo'ness is a small quiet town located on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. It has undergone a period of redevelopment in recent years and the town centre is home to an increasing number of independent small businesses.
  • We had a great stay in Bo'ness. Everything very clean and the flat has just benefited from a lot of new things. Bedroom has a spectacular view, combining the big water of the Forth Estuary, and the Ochil Hills, with big man made features of our industrial period. It could absorb you for hours, waiting for the next steam train to trundle by! Michael is a good host who met me and explained the flat and also the surrounding town and local attractions.

  • Stunning accommodation, excellent and tasteful decor. Very warm flat, quiet and secure, would love to stay here again. Excellent view of the river.

  • Michael’s place is very nice. Everything look brand new. The place is spacious. The location is near to supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. And it is also quite. The surrounding buildings are very beautiful. There are a lot of available parking spaces right in front of the apartement. It also has a park where kids can play. You can also see the lake right from the bedroom window. And to add the experience, Michael is very friendly and helpful. Definetely a recomended place!

The bed was super comfy, and all really clean and tidy! We even had a bit of time to have a look at Colin's toy vehicles collections

  • Ron was the perfect host who greeted me warmly when I arrived. The Annexe exceeded my expectations and has all the requirements you could possibly need. Was a fantastic touch to find items in the fridge so no need to rush out to the shops straight away. The location is perfect if you need some peace and quiet, as location is off the main road and just away from the village. The rooms were all very nice and comfortable and there is wi-fi and sky available. Private parking for your car and was no bother coming and going as you pleased. I didn't get to meet Linda but Ron was a fantastic host, very friendly and I would recommend anyone to stay here.

    James2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ron went above and beyond to make sure my stay was exceptional. I would highly recommend using Ron's flat which was a perfect location for me to stay while attending a wedding at Forrester Park Resort. Ron's fart is part of a very cool farmhouse with plenty of privacy and a kitchen/living room to relax in. Its located in a peaceful rural setting with beautiful views. There is a pub a short 5 minute walk away and also a bike path that I wish I had time to explore. All in all definitely a 5 star experience.

  • My third time staying with Ron and Linda. The Steadings is an excellent place - comfortable, quiet and with everything you need.

  • My second time at Ron and Linda's place was a good as the first. Everything you need, and a nice quiet location with great views.

  • Ron and Linda were brilliant hosts. The place is actually larger than what pictures suggest and in a great location!

    Omer2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ron is a very welcoming host. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the flat looked even better than the pictures - very spacious and charming. The flat has a distinctly Scottish flavor which added to my enjoyment of the experience. There is a lovely view of the surrounding hills and town. The flat was furnished with very nice personal care products and some food staples. I got a wonderful taste of Scotland over a month as I decompressed from a trip around the world. I highly recommend making the drive up to Oban and then through Glencoe down to Crianlarich.

  • Colin has been a perfect host, he has been very kind and attentive with us from the first day until the last one. The cottage is in a quiet place, with a good space to park just beside the house, it has all type of instruments to cook and all are new. Very confortable living room and good wifi, very useful for us. I recomend you to contact Colin if you want to spend some days visiting Scotland.

    FRANCISCO2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, wife and two grown up kids stayed at Colins house, as a base for attending a family wedding. The house was spacious and had all the essentials we needed. The decor was simple, and the house was clean and uncluttered. Due to our late arrival time, the local shop was closed - so Colin had essentials such as bread and milk, as well as some things for breakfast put in the fridge for our arrival. We all had a great fortnight, and the house suited our needs perfectly.

Completely renovated period home in leafy village in Central Scotland. 15mins to the home of William Wallace in Stirling & its beautiful Castle (see movie:Braveheart) 25mins to our Capital city Edinburgh (& its airport) and 40mins to Glasgow (& its airport too) Our home is the perfect base to explore the whole of Scotland with picture perfect mountains & lochs, walking/hiking trails, shopping, eating, fishing, skiing, biking...Not forgetting the 5* professional golf courses all around us!!!
A period home with a contemporary finish throughout. This had been designed to be a home not a holiday let and need guests to respect the space as a home. We were lucky enough to have our house featured in the February 2017 edition of the U.K. magazine '25 Beautiful Homes' - they did a gorgeous 5 page spread and we will be updating our profile with some of photos they took soon!
Rural but close to the major cities and everything Scotland has to offer
  • Jewel of a home! I rented this home for 1 month with my family during the month of July. Right from when you walk in the entrance you are greeted with a warm welcome from the owners and lovely gift of Prosseco. The atmosphere created from the interior design makes you instantly relax and feel at home. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus. My kids would definitely vote that this was their favorite part of the home. Every part of the house is strategically designed with function and style perfectly amalgamated. The garden is beautifully manicured and architecturally designed. The modern technology is very adaptable thus it's a breeze to enjoy and utilise the Sono sound system, heated bathroom floors, kitchen appliances.... and so the list goes on! I can't recommend a more tranquil, relaxing home than The Maine house! We loved the convenience of being able to pop out to the beautiful walking trails, castles and some unique and quirky cafes and restaurants just 15 mins away. We didn't want for anything and any questions we had where answered without hesitation by the owners! Neil, Will, Hugo and Seven are a beautiful family and their house is a true reflection of that. You'd be a fool to not book this slice of heaven!

    Stephanie2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, beautiful house. Infact the pictures don't do justice to the house. It's much more beautiful than the pics. Neil was fantastic and patient to explain us everything when we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped which ensured that there was no struggle to cook for the little kids as well. Very beautiful drives around Saline and the place is an hour away from all the major attractions that we wanted to see. In all we had a god stay.

    Kapil2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fantastic. Nice fournitures, great audio équipement, lot of rooms, friendly kitchen. We were 3 couples and 4 Kids, we had a great time Thanks

    Mathieu2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Neil's home for 4 nights, and had a fantastic stay. The home is beautifully decorated, and very modern. The bi folding doors made the house feel extremely spacious, and as we had great weather this made a huge difference. The garden also matches the house, with modern decking and hot tub. There are an array of gadgets throughout the house, which really allow you to 'live in luxury' such as the sono sound system throughout the house, and 3 cookers! We also received excellent hosting from Neil, who showed us round the house, and advised on taxi company's etc throughout our stay. Would recommend staying here.

    Becky2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Neil and Will has been great with us. They've taken care of us in every moment, in an affectionate way. They're lovely. The house is simply incredible. The design is amazing, providing all comforts, home automation and other things that you could need. We were nine people and the experience was better than we expect. Thank you for all

    Juan Carlos2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING. No matter how you imagine it from pictures and description . it is actually better. A perfect spot to explore the lowlands . The downside : going back to real world when you leave and realising this is not where you live . We miss this house already and will remember It forever .

    Nuria 2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing house. We had a fantastic stay. The place is ideally located for trips to Stirling, St Andrews and Edinburgh The house itself is first class. Best house stayed at yet

    Chris2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here, the house is absolutely stunning! Everything about this property is luxury which made it a real treat to be able to stay somewhere like this. Neil made us feel very welcome from the offset starting with a complimentary bottle of prosecco for us to enjoy when we arrived and was always available on the phone for any questions we might have during our stay. We booked this accommodation for our New years eve celebration to spend with a group of friends, we had 6 adults, 2 kids and our dog Harvey! There was plenty room for everyone to have there own space and also great for us all to socialise together in the extension, which has enough room for everyone to sit around and eat there together. The area is a lovely, peaceful little village, where we enjoyed some nice walks with the dog, but also close enough to head out for something a bit more, where the girls enjoyed cocktails out in Dunfermline and the boys had a day out go karting in Falkirk. We would love to return here again for a little break and will be recommending to all our friends if they plan to stay in this area in the future.

Bernadette and Dougie are very welcoming, and their dog called Jasper is very friendly. Their house is surrounded by a very nice and peaceful garden, and if you're wise Bernadette can show you the amazing landscape their have up in the garden. See you Bernadette and Dougie !!!

  • Bernadette and Dougie were really welcoming and helpful even before our arrival, which was a bit late in the night (she made us the lovely favour of picking us at the airport). The room was very spacious, with comfy beds and as many towels as we'd need. They offered the place as if it was ours, total access to the kitchen and bathroom and even breakfast in the morning! The time we spent with them was beautiful, Bernadette gave us tips about the nicest spots to visit in town and nearby, as well as in the rest of Scotland and shared some Irish tunes with Dougie, violin and whistle! Thanks a lot for such a lovely time!

  • Nice home and a beautiful garden with little lovely cabans. Bernadette and Dougie were very friendly. They showed us their garden and the cabans built by Dougie himself, with view on the loch. Their dog, too, loves people so much ! The beds were comfortable and the room (like on picture) very quiet. Our car was in security in their property. We had breakfast in one of the cabans, specialised in. It was funny. Nice stay, we recommand !
