Shopping Centre
“Starling Mall is the latest shopping mall in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, 15 minutes drive from Bandar Sunway. It is new and clean and there are many shopping and retail shops and eateries including Japanese and Korean restaurants. Besides, the latest cinema MBO is at the top floor and it has very good and quality sound system. You can find one of the most popular local food and best nasi lemak in a restaurant opposite Starling Mall. It is worth a try and you will want to come back again in once you have tried their famous chicken and steam nasi lemak. They have local offerings which include assam laksa, assam fish, mee rebus, etc ”

“Next to Hyde speakeasy is 61 MONARCHY, by the same establishment. 61 Monarchy is more focused on whiskies so if you're a whisky fan, don't look back. This street also houses quite a few other pubs, restaurants and bars, so bar hop and take your time to discover something new. ”

Place to eat
“The less ripped-off and less touristy version of Jalan Alor. Try Ipoh Yong Tau Foo, the far end stall. Fruit salad with peanut sauce at the opposite stall and seafood galore at Maharani stall sell the best fried squid and bamboo lala kam heong. Come at night. If you're lucky there's buskers playing live music. ”

“A chic & uptrend grocery store to shop just about anything. It is located in lowest floor of Glo Mall. If you need coffee-break, drop by the coffee corner inside grocery store & enjoy the drink and magazines. ”

Cocktail Bar

“My style of chillin is at bars with great music and having a slow drink or 2. But what I enjoy more is the presentation and atmosphere which gets you in the mood. If you're a fan like me - head to Hyde - a speakeasy which whips up great cocktails with a diverse selection of whiskies, spirits and liquor. Some classics such as the Old fashioned, Whisky Sour, and Dirty Martinis- are my personal favorites, but be adventurous and try their House specials too. If Andrew is there he'll create something special upon your request. Bring $$. ”
