Holiday Rentals in Darke County

Just booked in Darke County

3 bedroom/3 bath with 5 Queen/Full beds. 1st fl laundry. Bus 2 blocks, basic groceries 3 blocks, downtown 1 mi, large grocery 2 mi, 24-hour grocery/super store, 5 mi. My neighborhood, hard hit by the recession, still shows signs of recession but neighbors are super nice.
This grand home sits on a wide tree-lined street with room for 2 cars in the driveway (pull all the way up and please don't block the sidewalk) and lots of on-street parking also. Inside are coffered ceilings, detailed millwork around huge doors and windows, original wood floors and glass front kitchen cabinets, and lots of room to spread out. What's Unique? All profits from your stay go to a neighbors-helping-neighbors preservation program (Preservation Park View) - so you can do a good deed while you have a good time :) What's not to like about that? Also, lots of comfortable furniture: Two queen beds, two double beds, and one double futon can sleep ten people in the three bedrooms and one sitting room. In the family room is a couch that has two sections - each section reclines. There is a couch in the master bedroom. In the master closet there is a twin mattress (a real mattress, not an air mattress) that you can easily place in the living room or parlor if someone doesn't want to do the stairs, or just wants a private sleeping space on first floor.
The neighborhood has gone through ups and downs with the economy and was once noted for crime. People in other areas of Dayton still view the neighborhood with fear. However, I am never afraid and my neighbors watch out for me and my home, as I do theirs. We are all very comfortable and respectful of each other. Please be comfortable with diversity before you book.
  • Yo! Alright, the week we spent at Trish's was more like great college room mates than 'just' a hostess & her guests...she gave us great directions to where we wanted to go, her recommendations about good places in Dayton were spot on and the house is an incredible, spacious & beautiful one to stay in...clean, bright & warm... Thanks, Trish, for a great stay and we'll get in touch soon!

  • Patricia is a terrific host. She has made her home extraordinarily inviting and included lots of extras, including a food/snacks and use dishes, pans and the lower floor living spaces. She's literally thought of everything (extra toiletries, iron, extra sheets, etc.). I was really impressed!!

    Laurie2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Trish was an outstanding host. She had a very strong commitment to be in and stay in communication throughout, and for me, it was one of the most important elements of this stay. She was warm and friendly, and the house was inviting to the 5 of us who stayed for a week. She gave me a telephone "walk-through" when we got there and everything was well explained and in proper order. The house was very neat and tidy and exactly as described. The neighborhood was safe and the block the home was on was pretty and tree-lined.

  • First time visiting Dayton and I truly enjoyed it! Trish and I didn't get to meet in person but from talking to her she is awesome! Her home was perfect! You are about .8 of mile from the art institute(truly amazing art institute) and about 2.5 miles from downtown! I would absolutely Stay with Trish again! She is very thoughtful and has everything provided! Great historic home that's been updated...all amenities are available and she leaves helpful instructions to help you! :) Thanks Trish for making my Dayton visit awesome! When I am back in town I will stay with you! :)

  • The house located at 645 Superior was clean and met all of our expectations. Trish greeted us when we first arrived and made us feel right at home. She was kind, friendly, and very attentive. She was sure to answer all our questions and to help us in any way. Simply put, Trish was the perfect host(URL HIDDEN) The house is big and spacious, well furnished, and equipped with all the necessities. We didn't have to run to the store at all! If we needed it, it was there. If we wanted, it was there(URL HIDDEN)would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for an away home that feels like home. We will definitely be back!

    Derek2015-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • So grateful for Trish accommodating us at short notice. Loved staying in this unique home. The high ceilings on the first floor make the house feel grand. Convenient location and walkable / runnable streets near the river.

  • This was a beautiful home built in 1902. The rooms are HUGE. It has a massive dining room, and living room. The master bdr is so big that my daughter and grandkids just hung out there and we let the little one play on the floor. The neighborhood seemed fine, it's abt a block away from a police substation. When we arrived, there were abt 8 young men hanging around across the street, so I was a bit concerned, but everyone we met as we walked/jogged the area were very friendly. It's abt 1/2 mile from the river, which has some jogging trails. There is some bridge construction, so you have to work around it. The host is very responsive to all emails/texts, and was willing to give me a phone tour, but I had to pass on that since I'd been up for 30 hrs. There is a good welcome book, with answers to most questions. There are LOTS of storage areas with extra toiletries, blankets, fans, robes, slippers, far more extras than you expect at this price point [$/sq foot]. The only less than glowing comments... It was built before AC, so it was a bit hot and muggy, there are ceiling fans in the two big bedrooms, but none in the smaller bdr, I only found one small portable fan [although I missed the phone tour, so I might have missed another stash, since the place is huge]. Furnishings are a bit worn/frayed, but you aren't paying for 5 star lodging. The welcome book made it clear that "the front porch, front entrance, kitchen, dining room, and laundry are shared with the owner", which is not quite the "entire home" listed on airbnb, although we never saw nor heard the owner, so she was likely not home, still, something to be aware of.

Warm renovated cottage on quiet fishing lake with large overlook deck. Paddle boat, fishing gear, gas grill and bicycles available.
  • Tim was very responsive while booking our stay and was wonderful with the details and directions he gave. Mike was a total gem, available from the time we arrived until the moment we left. My husband and I came to the cottage for some simple R&R and totally fell in love with the beautiful lakes, friendly people, and most importantly, the peace and quiet! We are already looking forward to booking our next visit - well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive!

    Stephanie2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's cottage was incredibly cozy and the area is beautiful. We were driving in from a distance and did not get in until ~2am. This was not a problem and Mike the caretaker of the property even greeted us with some fresh fruit for the kids shortly after we arrived. The cottage was very easy to find thanks to the lights and Tim's directions. I only wish we had more time to spend enjoying all the wonderful things there! We plan to be back for sure!

    Patrick2016-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The pics don't do it justice. Adorable cottage with a beautiful view. It was a little confusing to find but the hosts were super helpful and so kind! Would definitely stay here again!

    Jay2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is my idea of absolute paradise. I was thrown off by the snow; but the cottage is so delightfully warm and toasty with a nice roomy shower and hot hot water. Mike my first greeter; very kind and informative, giving me the "lay of the land", as well as providing me with places to eat. As for the cottage: I love the wood flooring, furnishings and the complete coziness of this place. To top it off, a spacious deck overlooking water and the setting of the sun - it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, it didn't feel like a rental - it felt like home. Refreshments of fruit, tea, honey and coffee offered, made it very inviting. Tim dropping by (with daffodils in hand) making sure I'd settle in - being a "lone" traveler, I felt safe and well provided for, with phone numbers and availability. I would suggest this for anyone who wants to get back to nature - there was so much that I didn't take advantage of - the fireplace, bikes, a full deck with grill and heater. Fishing. Tim, thank you so much for the most relaxing experience. I'll be back soon!

    Pats2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for another lovely stay. We had a wonderful Christmas away from home.

    Tanya2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had to shorten our stay due to the lack of cleanliness, no running water in the kitchen, and the rotten egg smell of the water in the bathroom shower and sink. When we arrived, there were no fresh linens on the bed & the place had not been cleaned since the last guests had left. The host told us he didn't know we were coming, even though we had booked via Airbnb weeks prior to our stay & had messaged with him via Airbnb--we ended up staying in a hotel.

    Dianne & Mike2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • My family loved that staying here gave us the feeling of being away and in a peaceful environment while at the same time close to the quaint downtown.

    Naomi2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • I was in from NY. I had a great time. Lots of room..great for couples and family. My Chocolate Lab, Lucy loved the lake and could not get enough of the water… Would stay again and hope to soon. Tim, thank you again and it was a pleasure meeting you and saying at your place-PMG

  • Anne and Tim were great hosts- very welcoming. The rooms were perfect for us - plenty of space.

    Bethany2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay when you are in the Greenville area. The private second floor space comprised of several bedrooms and bathrooms along with a generous sitting area is like home away from home. The hostess is incredibly gracious and the breakfast divine. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in the country yet close to the city of Greenville.

    Lynda2017-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly. Beautiful unique house.

    Alicia2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was communicative, happy to help us feel at home, and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. The rooms are delightfully furnished -- it felt like we were sleeping in an adorable dollhouse. My favourite part of the stay was walking around the property, which has a creek, a wooded area with mulberries and blackberries, and benches to sit and enjoy the fresh air. My kids had fun with the friendly cats and sheep! It all felt very idyllic -- an overall wonderful stay.

    Alona2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home and host surpassed all expectations of a first-time stay at a B&B. Anne was so accommodating for all 4 ladies that stayed. The home is located in the beautiful country but short drive to town. You have the full upstairs of house to yourself with 3 sleeping areas 2 full baths and a nice living area with table to sit play cards or have a snack. Breakfast was wonderful and coffee was delicious. Grounds are beautiful as well. Loved visiting with the sheep. Highly recommend if ever in the area. Thank you Anne and Tim for the great stay and your hospitality

  • If you are looking for a place to stay near Eldora speedway you couldn't ask for a better location with a great host.

    Hayden2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Doris is lovely, helpful and thoughtful. The accommodations are clean, spacious and comfortable. You'll have everything you need. A great place to stay!

    Amy2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Doris is a friendly and accommodating host. We had a wonderful stay when we rented the entire floor (with two bedrooms). She had many snacks and breakfast items available in the kitchen that was part of our space. WiFi was solid, too. This house is also located in the Land of the Cross Tipped Churches, which was one of the reasons for our visit. In fact, one of the churches is located in Frenchtown and is a short walk from Doris' home. We would go return here anytime we're in the area again.

    Patrick2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Doris is a gracious host. Her home is spacious and beautiful set in a scenic rural area. Plenty of space to move around and a great place to enjoy the fresh Ohio air.

    Tony2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is s beautiful house and very spacious. Two nice bedrooms and a pull out couch in the living room. Nice kitchen that was stocked with great breakfast food. Doris had everything well marked concerning all the amenities. Definitely recommend the French House.

    Susan2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Doris is very friendly, we enjoyed chatting with her. The BnB was accurate with the description. We enjoyed the beautiful country side where she lives. Her place is very clean, spacious & comfortable. She left a good variety of food for breakfast & the BnB was well stocked with anything we might need. We enjoyed sitting outside on her patio too. If we're back in the area again, we'd enjoy staying here again.

    Mark & Karen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were in the area for a wedding and staying at the French House was perfect! We rented the whole space, and the space was even bigger than we had expected. Doris left thoughtful touches everywhere and was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend staying here! :)

  • Such a good place to stay. Everything is perfect. The host prepare breakfast every morning. The room is super clean and make us feel like home.

  • Let me tell you, it almost seemed too good to be true, but Leighanne and Roland consistently outdid themselves with the hospitality. We were in town for a triathlon and they provided delicious breakfasts of fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, Amish breads, coffee, and much more at absurdly early hours. The home was clean, spacious, and comfortable and they graciously gave us run of the roost. The atmosphere was quiet, safe, and friendly. On top of this, there was an endless supply of ice cream!

    Mike2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This bed and breakfast was the perfect homey getaway while dropping my daughter off for college. The quaint breakfast was very pleasing!

    Amy2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Leighanne was a wonderful host. She made our brief stay welcoming and pleasant. She was accommodating in regards to our dietary needs. I hope to stay at Seldom Scene on our next visit to the area.

    Karen and Dean2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • I so appreciated the healthy breakfast and nightly tea. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever experienced as a visitor. The place was neat and tidy and very convenient for my Richmond visit.

    darcy2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • SeldomScene was a beautiful home. The bedding was exquisite, super comfy bed, furnishings very tasteful and rich-looking. The kitchen and dining area were huge and well-appointed. So much food! Ice cream, Amish breads, bacon, fresh fruits. It was a great value for all the amenities included. We enjoyed watching squirrel antics out the huge bay window. Then there's Leighann, who is a hostess extraordinaire. In spite of our late arrival we were greeted at the door, given a tour and made to feel very welcome.

    Melissa2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience. Leighanne and Roland are so accommodating and friendly. A great breakfast in the mornings with fresh breads and jams from a nearby Amish market ... and bacon, always yummy bacon. The rooms are sensational — clean, well-kept, very smartly decorated. We were there in late winter so didn't get to see L&R's gardens, lawn and trees when they're in full bloom ... so, perhaps this is our excuse to stay with them again sometime this spring or summer! Highly recommended!

    Karen2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole and her family were wonderful. Their hospitality rivaled that of my southern roots. Her husband checked us in, explained all of the nuances. After that we felt like we were in our own little world - the location is secluded, yet close to everything you need. My family loved our trip! The pool and hot tub were awesome and well maintained. They also had beautiful horses that my kids liked to watch through the fence. I'd highly recommend!

    Chris2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and amenities were just as described! We were looking for a nice, quite, semi-secluded place with a pool and hot tub and found it here! Nicole was very communicative and provided a very pleasant stay. We would definitely go back. Thanks, Nicole!

Our beautifully restored 1880s home in the Starr district (2 miles to Earlham) features fine woodwork and architectural detail. Three lovely guest bedrooms upstairs sleep two each with shared bath. Enjoy breakfast made with fruit from our garden.
Surprisingly cozy, “Arden Hearth” is a grand old Victorian with seven decorative fireplaces, a sweeping entrance hall, front and back parlors, and a stunning oval dining room. Upstairs, the front two adjacent bedrooms are ideal for a family, with a double bed in one and two twin beds in the other; a third back bedroom offers more privacy with a full bed and a couch. Guests share one large bath with shower and tub upstairs; there is also a downstairs bath without shower. Although there is no A/C, older homes were built to maintain comfortable temps year-round; in summer, we provide electric fans and in winter, down comforters. The house is not handicap-accessible; you must be able to climb stairs.
The Starr Historic District has many examples of charming Victorian architecture in about six square blocks. We are just two miles from Earlham College, and within walking distance of downtown and the Depot district, where you can find nice shops and restaurants. We are also quite close to the Wayne County History Museum, Glen Miller Park, and the Jazz Walk of Fame and nature trail in Whitewater Gorge.
  • My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Dan and Jan. They were extremely helpful with information about Richmond and Earlham College. They had coffee and breakfast with us in the morning with homemade quiche, bread and jams made from fruits they have harvested in their gardens. Our stay at Arden Hearth felt like a beautiful visit back in time. The bnb has a rich and interesting history, which our hosts shared with us. We would definitely recommend staying here!

    Kathy2015-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Jan were very welcoming, friendly hosts. The house itself is beautiful, and as a bonus, their cat is a delight!

    Harrington2015-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and unusual (URL HIDDEN) many details to notice in this lovely restoration - 10 foot ceilings and 9 foot wooden doors, filled with beautiful woodwork and stained glass....but not only that, I felt completely at home. It is immaculate and comfortable. Daniel and Jan where completely available and at the same time I felt like I had the place to myself. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Allen2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dan & Jan were great hosts. They communicated well before we arrived and helped us in. Since we arrived late, they showed us only the basics and let us go to bed right away. We got an awesome breakfast and tour in the morning.

    Stephen & Erin2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I begin with the raves? Dan and Jen were warm, welcoming hosts who made my teenage son and I feel right at home. The house is a STUNNING place rich in history, the location was perfect (we were there to deliver my son to Earlham College). Dan, a gourmet chef, prepared marvelous breakfasts featuring homegrown veggies, berries and herbs, and homemade jellies and jams (on freshly baked bread!!) There is no question that upon my return to see my son I will stay with Jen and Dan.

    Allyson2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late after a performance and were greeted by Jan. The house is really amazing, and Jan and Dan went out of their way to make us for comfortable and welcome. The homemade jams were great!

    Jonathan2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Dan and Jan's home in Richmond. It was such a treat to stay in a beautifully restored Victorian home. It made me realize that I really need a fireplace in my bedroom! Both the bedroom and the bathroom were set up perfectly for guests with extra blankets, Q-tips and other items that are often forgot while packing. I highly recommend staying with Dan and Jan if you are visiting Richmond, Indiana. Thanks for hosting us!

Our House is situated on 10 1/2 acres. We are in a rural area where you will see farm animals and farming crops. There is a couple of fast food restaurants and a grocery store but the main stores are about 15 minutes away. We are northwest of Dayton, Ohio. Not far from the dayton international airport, Wright-Patterson Air Force base, Wright Brothers aviation museum, and various other historical areas. We are away from the hustle and bustle of the city life where it is quiet and laid back.
We have a full basement with its own entrance. It has 1 bedroom with a queen bed and 2 twin rollaway beds. There is a full kitchen and full bathroom and laundry room. The walkout hosts a fire pit and an outdoor swing where you can sit and read a book or just relax.
Quiet country atmosphere where you can take walks and pet the neighbors horses, goats, and cows! Or may just want sit one of the 3 swings and read a book.
  • I spent a weekend in Brooks place, and it was more than we could’ve asked for! She was very accommodating, she would communicate well, and the space was incredibly capacious and comfortable! It was the perfect location as well to rest in the peaceful country, while also being only a short drive to go out for the night. Brooks was very welcoming, and I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again!

    Brea2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brooks home is a great, secluded, spacious place to stay for a weekend. Myself and 4 friends stayed at her location and we had PLENTY of space. She had snacks available, went out of her way to greet us and make sure everything was perfect for our stay. The place was everything we had hoped for and was an excellent value! Would highly recommend!

  • This was our first Airbnb experience so we were apprehensive. Much to our delight it was perfect. The property was beautiful and always well lit at night making it easy to find. When we arrived Brooks was very gracious and showed us around. She even left us a supply of snacks and soda. Our space was large and comfortable with a full kitchen, family room, full bathroom and large bedroom with lots of closet space. We will definitely use Airbnb in the future but we find it hard to believe that any will top this one. It was perfect!!

  • If you found this listing, look skyward and give thanks because it's an absolutely amazing property. I was just looking for a place to stay in Richmond near my daughter's college, and what I found was a place I will be returning to yearly as a retreat as much as to see my daughter. Leighanne is an absolutely wonderful hostess and somebody I can now call a friend.

    Mark2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this BnB! We came as a group of former college roommates, to re-connect and catch up. Leighanne’s home is lovely, with tastefully decorated rooms. The location is convenient, off 70, and yet it is hidden away in a wooded area down a lane. Leighanne herself is a gracious and thoughtful hostess. She went the extra mile, kindly hunting down a board game we hoped to play and even setting out snacks in the evening. Breakfast was tasty, and we ate it while exchanging stories together. We took her recommendations and enjoyed local restaurants and the (first-ever) Richmond Shakespeare Festival – Love the repurposed piano factory! Thank you, Leighanne! :)

    Andrea2014-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Leighanne is an excellent host with tremendous knowledge of the area. We had a comfortable and lovely stay.

    Lisa2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great experience all around. Enjoyed the home and the hostess. I was meeting my parents and sister at a halfway point between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. My parents are elderly and Leighanne made them feel so welcome and told us all the most amazing details about the house and neighborhood. Her breakfast was delicious and inspired us with all its local sourced goodness. The organization, beauty and cleanliness of the home is first class. Come be inspired with her use of solar energy!!

    Tina2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying at Leighanne's Bed & Breakfast. It was clean, welcoming, and very spacious. Leighanne was also very accommodating -- last minute I had two more people join us for our trip and we needed extra space, Leighanne had two other rooms available for us to use! It was perfect. Also, the wireless was high speed and the food was excellent, very fresh and from local farmers. I would totally recommend anyone to stay here and if I venture out that way again I'll definitely stay at this BnB again!

    Katie2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Jack N Jill was a very good one. Leighanne was an excellent host and even waited up for us as we arrived later than expected. She was very responsive in her communication, and the breakfast in the morning was great! I would recommend this B&B to other families (there were 4 people staying in this 2 bedroom suite).

  • Leighanne has a beautiful set-up for families to stay, and generously offered to expand our space (free of charge). The room was both beautiful and relaxing--it would be a romantic getaway for couples, and easily accommodated our family of four. It was even educational for our kids as the house has lots of sustainable and eco features, and Leighanne was happy to explain their purpose and how they work. There's a nice walk through the meadow to take too. Perhaps the highlight of a stay here--after our comfortable night's sleep--is the breakfast Leighanne prepares. Organic and local baked goods--at least three kinds of sweet bread, plus a whole grain and a cinnamon toast loaf--in addition to assorted fruits brightened the table. There were raspberries picked off the vine just the day before! A must-stop for anyone passing through, Leighanne is the gateway to the west, with a welcoming smile and warm home to host you.

  • Jill's place is amazing. The craftsmanship of this home is from a bygone era. From the grand staircase, the floor to ceiling pocket doors and the stained glass, the home is magnificent. The property is about a mile from a bunch of restaurants in a very quaint border town, I70 is about 5 minutes. My room, room 4, was awesome and the bathroom was clean, the shower had endless hot water and great pressure, I wish my travels didn't have me leaving after one night, a great place indeed!

    Jason2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was very comfortable and pleasant stay. I could rest well and focus my activities during the stay. The house is very beautiful and clean. Great hospitality and great value.

    Kay2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t recommend this AirBNB enough! Jill is a fantastic host and I could not be happier with my stay. The location is perfect for my needs and is located near lots of useful places. The house and rooms exquisite and are filled with antiques and interesting things! I travel to Richmond a couple times a year and I will be staying here exclusively from now on!

    Jon2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and exceptionally comfortable in a remarkably interesting house! The house is a slice of Victorian history. Old but immaculate. High quality comforters and bed linens on a very comfortable bed. Quiet. As it turned out, I was the only guest and had the whole house to myself. Quite a treat. Great communication with Jill and Kris. Would not hesitate to stay here another time.

    Allen2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Exceeded all my expectations, from location, to comfort, amenities, and more. Such a kind host. Jill is a hospitality pro. Will look for an opportunity to return with my whole family. Lots of room.

Centrally located in Richmond's cottage district, this quaint 1938 walk up apartment charms with vintage pine. The dormered upper comfortably sleeps 3, has a cozy kitchen, full bath, private entry, on-street parking and WIFI. The sitting room has a lending library: leave a book/take a book.
This cozy, well appointed apartment occupies the second floor of my vintage Cape Cod style home. Please note that the guest suite is accessible by a set of stairs. You will have a private entrance with self entry. The location is central to everything in Richmond and surrounding area. It is located in town on an arterial street that allows quick access to Earlham College, Richmond High School, IU East, Ivy Tech, Reid Hospital, Antique Alley, Civic Hall, Civic Theater, Wayne County Fairgrounds and Downtown and East Side amenities.
  • Shawn’s apartment was cozy, inviting and spotlessly clean. My husband and I love to travel and stay in Airbnb’s so we really notice when a host and site are special. This gem is even more attractive than the photos. Kitchen was well. Equipped with basics, even though we didn’t take time to cook. Many nice touches like extra snacks Bed was super comfy! That’s a must. Shawn communicated very clearly about check in instructions and gave us alternate directions because of road work in the area. She was very accommodating when we needed to check in early because of an event we were attending. We would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

    Mary2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn's place is lovely! It was a perfect space for the three days we spent in Richmond. We had everything we needed in an immaculate and charming setting.

    Rachel2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Shawn's for a week while visiting my daughter at Earlham. At some points my 23 year old son or 20 year old daughter stayed too. All of us loved the place. It is delightfully cozy, but uncluttered, spotless, and has great flow. The beds are very comfy, the kitchen, which looks like a set from I Love Lucy, is easy to cook in, and Shawn has obviously given a lot of thought to what a guest might need: tea and treats and toiletries. She checked in with us after a couple days to make sure we didn't need anything restocked. Shawn was wonderful, quick to respond, flexible, helpful, really just lovely. And she had great tips for things to do on a day trip. Great apartment! Wonderful host!

    Laura2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • I came back to Richmond for my 5 year college reunion and stayed at Shawn's place with two friends. We had such an amazing time catching up at her cozy place. It is easy to find and she told us everything we need to get in. She was even willing to let us check in early so we could get in right after our flight. The place is clean, cozy, and quiet. I really appreciated her attention to detail, the snacks were much appreciated and we had everything we needed to cook and make coffee! I'll definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area!

    Katie-Rose2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great attention to detail. Everything is covered here. Such an awesome stay, we really loved the little apartment.

  • This is one of a few places I liked among the hundreds of places I stayed.

    Akino2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVE this place, it's so charming and cozy that I didn't want to leave. I especially loved the "l love Lucy" style kitchen stocked with milk in a glass bottle and a curved bench to sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet and well cared for. The nearby towns have blocks of antiq

    Maria2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I have stayed at Pine Cottage, this time a very quick overnight trip. Shawn does so many small things to make the stay cozy and inviting that I can't recount them all, but I would like to give a special shout out to the cheddar fish crackers, comfy reading chair and great shower head! It was a delight to stay again.

  • I had a bachelorette party here! It was a perfect location! The bed and breakfast is very spacious. It's in a great location - quiet and scenic but also only 10 minutes away from town and cute resturaunts and breweries. Leighanne was wonderful! She kept in communication with me through out the stay and was very considerate! She made the most delicious breakfast & blessed us with good conversation! All the girls kept gushing about how beautiful it was and what a wonderful time they had! Thanks Leighanne!

  • I came to Richmond for the wedding of a college friend of mine. By staying at Leighanne's, I was able to book 4 rooms for 8 of my friends. The space was perfect! The 4 rooms were all on the top floor & we were able to use any space in the house to hang out before & after the wedding. Leighanne's place is gorgeous & super tidy. She was well prepared for us with towels & clean sheets in the beautiful rooms. And all the beds were comfy! : ) She was very friendly & accommodating to all of us. The check in & out process was quick & easy as well. Our breakfast in the morning was perfect!!! Healthy & delicious options plus coffee & juices! Overall, I loved my trip spent here. I would definitely return to Leighanne's if I'm ever back in town : )

  • My family and I stayed at Seldom Scene Meadow B&B the weekend of May 13-15, 2016. The setting is beautiful and fairly private with woods and fields and many birds and other wildlife hovering nearby. The property has a new hot tub, new landscaping, and ample parking. We were welcomed from the minute we walked into Leighanne's lovely and spacious home. We were given a tour of the house and the kitchen, complete with snacks (ice cream!) and drinks that are available at any time to guests. The rooms vary in size, but all are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. A significant part of a stay at a B&B is, of course, the food, which Leighanne and her assistant prepare and serve beautifully. The continental breakfast was delicious with a variety of items from local vendors, and the country breakfast was an absolute treat with beef filet, marinated pork chops (by far the best item on the menu), vegetables, eggs, fruit, yogurt, breads, and just about anything else you could want! All in all, we all agreed that we would stay here again in a heartbeat! It is a great place for a family reunion as there are 6 rooms available. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Leighanne and loved every minute of being in her home.

    Wendy2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Leighanne is a wonderful host with a beautiful home and property. If her hospitality doesn’t make you feel at home the large and delicious breakfast will! I look forward to staying with her on my next visit to Richmond.

    Zach2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a special and delightful weekend we had at Seldom Scene! We rented the entire house and Leighanne gave us permission to hold our son's small family wedding there. She even decorated for us and loaned the use of dishes for a small reception. We got excellent advice on vendors in town to use and also great advice on places to go after the big event. This is our third visit here and we love the warmth and comfort of the house, and especially LeighAnne's hospitality. This is the place to stay in Richmond!!

Southwest Neighborhood of Piqua was built in the late 1800's - early 1900's . Many of the homes have an arts & crafts feel with architectural details and heavy wood accents. Historical St.Boniface church's clock tower is a nostalgic reminder of the time chiming every hour. There are 3 additional churches in a 3 block radius and as many pubs. Mote Park and the Bike path are just blocks away. and The Great Miami River is a stones throw and the must see Fort Piqua Hotel aka Piqua library can be seen from most of town. Food is not hard to come by here. Casertas 5 houses away is open to serve very inexpensive Grill food. Beppo Uno on the same street for your italian. El sombrero for Mexican and many chains both iin Piqua and a few miles away in Troy
  • Wow what a host and what an amazing house! Tonya has touched every effort of detail and goes above and beyond what she needs to do. The dogs were great and calm after the first couple sniffs! Great breakfast foods, shower gels, and the towels were amazing! Best of luck on the remodel to this darling, character filled house! I can't imagine all the dusting because her home is filled with very fragile collective, decorative items!

    Candice 2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tonya was a fantastic host, going above and beyond with special touches. Definitely had more of a B&B vibe and not just a place to crash. Our own code to get in and out of house, snacks, water and even a bottle of wine was in our room when we arrived. The bed was comfortable, and. towels were awesome! The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Breakfast bar with quick grab n go items, or, homemade baked items and breakfast meals are available as well. My only "complaint" would be that the room we stayed in was a bit cluttered, and therefore crowded. Not in a messy way, but more of an over decorated way. Thinking we would've had more space if it weren't for all the decorations, trinkets, 10+ pillows on the bed, etc. But, to each his own. Again, besides our personal preference of a minimalistic overly tidy room, Tonya's place was great!

  • Being the 1st guest and while I experienced quiet, peace and beauty during my stay, I also experienced a wonderful new friendship. My 35 day stay was cut short due to unfortunate circumstances. I learned valuable lessons in being a better communicator and I wish her, Nadia, Shadow and Bailey all the best and longevity with a successful AirBnB.

Seeking a touch of nostalgia, a quiet, peaceful hideaway? Maybe it’s time to head “over the river and through the woods,” to Grandma’s Cottage for a respite from the craziness of life! Here, you will find a small, rustic cottage nestled in a wooded, garden setting along Pigeye Creek. Take a walk through the garden areas, or enjoy some of Grandma’s homemade cookies as you sit by the stream. Inside, step back in time as you discover pieces of history in the quaint cottage setting surrounded by Grandma’s memories from the past. This cozy cottage is furnished with all you might need for a “home away from home” visit. Our family has enjoyed five generations of extended family gatherings here preparing holiday meals in the roomy kitchen, and sitting together around great Grandma’s dining table for hours of conservation and games. The setting is so lovely we have even hosted several weddings and receptions here. This one bedroom cottage seems secluded, yet it’s a convenient driving distance to interstates, (15 min. to I 70 & I 75), downtown Dayton (25 min.), Dayton International Airport, (15 min.) as well as numerous parks, nature centers, recreational and cultural activities. If you truly wish to experience a chance to get away from it all, or maybe just enjoy a pleasant overnight stay that seems more like home than the local motel, come, and let us welcome you to Grandma’s Cottage. (Note for your consideration, if you struggle with environmental allergies, you may not be comfortable staying in the cottage.)
  • The cottage was charming, full of character, and very peaceful. Thank you to Ron and DeLaine for offering such a sweet place to stay. We loved it.

  • This cottage is so amazing--from the gardens outside to the fun decor inside. We just had a blast with this place. Every item in the cottage is a fun reminder of a childhood memory, the decorations were hours of entertainment for us. We would stay here again. The hosts were just the nicest people you could ever meet. They were so accommodating and friendly with making us feel right at home.

    Liz2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and DeLaine were excellent hosts and the cottage exceeded my already high expectations! The property is beautiful. I wish I had more time to explore it. The cottage has everything one would need to settle in for a quiet evening. I would certainly stay here again.

  • What a fantastic first Airbnb experience! Ron and DeLaine were very friendly, helpful and great hosts. If you're going to the Rose Music Center for a concert, this cottage is only a 20 minute drive from the venue. Definitely worth a few extra minutes to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thanks again!

  • Had a very quiet and comfortable time at Grandma's Cottage. The bed was very comfortable and surroundings peaceful, so we got really good sleep there. Ron and DeLaine were delightful.

  • Grandma's cottage is an absolutely charming place! The grounds and the location are so beautiful. Very rural feel, yet close to everything. Ron and DeLaine are excellent, responsive and communicative hosts. Wholeheartedly recommend this sweet rental.

  • Grandma's cottage is delightful! The accommodations were charming. The property was nature at is best. Overall, it was just perfect. Ron and DeLaine couldn't have been better hosts. This was my first experience with Airbnb. I was nervous, my boyfriend was skeptical, they made us believers. If you are anywhere in Central Ohio, stay for the night. But I call "dibs"!

    Amber2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a majestic and peaceful environment. Ron and Delaine were wonderful hosts, and made snacks/ fresh banana bread available! I will be recommending them to anyone passiny by Englewood. Thanks again.

Indiana's best keep secret - The Love Shack - nestled down a long lane in between 2 fields in rural Economy Indiana. Plenty of space for tents/rvs. This place was built by my late grandfather, Tom Bond. He loved to fish, and tinker and this was a place for his grandkids to stay out of trouble. No water or electric are available. All proceeds go straight back into the property to make improvements. Always updating listing, check back often. Follow us on social media
Primitive - tent or RV camping only. Shack is only used for storage - there are covered areas you can take shelter under in case of poor weather. Bathroom consists of "outhouse." TP provided. No water or electricity- bring your own water. Fish CATCH & RELEASE only!!!! Two picnic tables are included and numerous plastic chairs to sit in. One campfire ring (please do not put trash in rings) No firewood is provided - please bring your own. Do not cut any of my trees down or go foraging - backside of pond is a wetland and private & protected property. Several docks around the pond to fish from - use at your own risk. There are no dedicated "walking trails," but you can walk around the backside of the one pond (we keep it mowed) and wander down the long lane. No official "cooking area" - bring a grill, cooking stove or cook over the fire. Please do not cook under any roof! Please pack all your trash out. We don't have trash pick up here. All dog/animals feces can be flung in the field! Farmers will appreciate the fertilizer! Lots of big catfish & bluegill - see our F B page for videos of the fish being fed! If you're done fishing for the night or don't fish, feel free to give them a scoop of food (one only please, food is expensive)! It's fun to watch them! All food is stored in containers in shack (just be sure to put the scoop back!) They'll only eat in the morning or early evening.
Local Amish auction house just down the road. Great deals on produce and flowers. Amish school house sits on the corner. Please do not disturb this property - it is not open to the public. Fountain City Acres - Amish owned and operated grocery - deli & bakery Hagerstown and Cambridge City also close by - full of places to antique shop and eat good food. We're working on a binder with info of places we recommend to visit during your stay. It'll be available online and a printed copy at the property.
  • This spot is pretty magical. It's in the center of quiet fields, next to a pond and alight with fireflies. The firepit was perfect and the outhouse very clean. Jessica communicated promptly and kindly. It's the perfect place for secluded car-camping. I would love to camp here again!

    Renee2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice private site. Feeding the fish in the morning is really cool, and the stars were amazing at night.

    Carson2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I enjoyed camping and being in nature. The area is quiet and peaceful. It was a relaxing time spent without electricity or phones. Would definitely visit again. Thanks!

    Kenna 2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy nature, peaceful surroundings and fishing, this is a fantastic place to visit. Unplug and kick back!

    Laura2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a hidden gem!!!! The location is definitely very remote so make sure you are prepared. We were excited to truly camp with no water or electricity and this place did not disappoint. It is on a beautiful pond full of fish and has tons of room for tents and activities! The shack is a great cover space to set up food and for rain! There were sever storms while we stayed but the shack kept us dry. We will definitely be back!

    Rachel2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This just recently opened up to the public and it is awesome. Only one family stays there at a time. You bring your own tent and there is no electricity, no water and an outhouse, but it is so much fun. The scenery is beautiful and you hear the lovely voices of nature all around. They have a stocked pond (catch and release only) where you catch one fish after another. There is a giant albino carp and albino catfish in the pond, along with bluegill and other catfish. The open view of the stars is breathtaking. There is an Amish community right down the road from there. If you like to tent camp, I totally recommend this wonderful, private, camping area. It is one of the enjoyable camping areas I have ever been to, and I've been to many across Indiana. I am a poet and this place is definitely poem-worthy. There was just so much to write about and I will definitely be crafting some words about my experience there in the near future. It is nature at its best!

Our 1923 home is set in Richmond's most established neighborhood, Reeveston. It is near I-70, Earlham College, IU East, and local restaurants and shopping. Your private room is located on the second floor with a comfortable mattress on a daybed and raised trundle. Your private bathroom has a shower that falls into an extra deep and insulated bathtub. **We welcome travelers regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, or religious beliefs.
Our home was built in 1923 and has some lovely period character, such as hardwood floors. It also has an updated kitchen and bathrooms, a new furnace, and central air. There is a ton of natural light throughout. We share the house with three indoor cats, all of whom have very different personalities. They are all friendly, but you may or may not see all of them during your stay. Once we prepare the room for a guest, the door is closed to keep the cats out.
The Reeveston neighborhood is one of the old, established neighborhoods in Richmond. On Richmond's popular West side (but still close to the center of town and local higher education institutions), Reeveston is named for the family farm that originally occupied this space. Known for tree-lined streets and large old houses, it's a quiet and family-friendly neighborhood that is perfect for an evening stroll. Less than a mile up the street is a large park with a play structure, skate park, and disc golf course, which abuts a local rose garden.
  • Maggie and Shana were great hosts. Their house is very welcoming, clean, in a very nice quiet neighborhood. They were accommodating to our late arrivals. Thanks for sharing your house, it was a pleasure meeting you! Barbara and Marek

    Barbara2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time here. The ladies were kind and welcoming! Our space was perfectly warm and clean. We had our own restroom with a super spacious tub and shower. There were even mints on our pillows and a portable fan on the side table in case we needed it. We have never used Airbnb in this area but will again because of our amazing hosts. Thanks so much for the space, and we wish you many more visitors who will be lucky to stay in your BNB.

  • Maggie and Shana were great hosts. Their house is beautiful and the room was comfortable. It was wonderful to meet you!

  • Maggie and Shanna are a very charming couple, with a charming home in a charming neighborhood. They are very gracious to open their home to weary travelers. Our visit to Richmond and Earlham College was made more pleasurable by their hospitality. We are already planning to reserve a space the next time we are in town.

  • Maggie and her wife are awesome. They were extremely friendly and courteous to our needs during our stay.

  • Great home with wonderful hosts. When in Richmond don't overlook an opportunity to stay here.

    Brett2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie and Shana were very accommodating to my needs. I had a late arrival, and they were there to greet me when I arrived. The home is very clean, which surprised me, because they have 3 cats. It is a very sweet home and easy to relax in. The bathrooms have recently been renovated. My bathroom had a deep soaking tub, and they also provided all the suds! I slept great in the bed and there was plenty of space in the room for all my things. They are very willing to work with you on whatever you may need. I would definitely recommend staying with them. I plan to book again in the future, as my travels allow.

    Kate2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying with Maggie and Shana. Like the first time, they were wonderful hosts and their home is remarkable (and in a beautiful neighborhood to boot). I'm in Richmond fairly often for seminary courses and I will be staying with them in the future without a doubt! Highly recommended hosts and listing!

This is not your ordinary stopover place during a cross-country trip. Consider staying a few nights to relax in the spacious atmosphere and enjoy good company. Walk the expansive gardens and sip wine on the patio surrounded by birds and flowers!
Lovely, upstairs bedroom in 1890 home is surrounded by dogwood, redbud, maple and walnut trees. On the edge of town in SW Richmond, the property has a park-like setting with corn fields and countryside just around the corner. Approximately 1/2 mile to Earlham College; Earlham School of Religion and Bethany Theological Seminary are just under a mile away. One of the original homes on the Pike, there are beautiful hardwood floors and 9 ft ceilings throughout. Guest bedroom is upstairs, as is the shared large bathroom with tub and shower. Guest bed is full-sized. Wifi throughout, basic cable in the front room, driveway parking, AC in the summer! Friendly and well-traveled hosts have been transplanted here from Oregon and have a long history of welcoming guests! Guests are welcome to join us in the fireside room for after-dinner conversation.
  • Janine and Colin are wonderful, gracious hosts. They were very helpful with local restaurants and attractions. Janine is an accomplished gardener and loves to talk about her beautifully tended yard. She made us an excellent breakfast with eggs from her chickens and vegetables from her gardens. We really enjoyed our time at their home.

    John2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Janine and Colin made me and my son feel very welcome in their lovely home. It was beautiful and cozy. We had clear instructions for arrival and all went smoothly. They gave us wonderful breakfast in the morning and offered nice conversation. If my son attends the local college, I would feel great about him being nearby Janine and Colin as people he could visit.

  • I enjoyed my stay at this location while in the area for Business. The Host were fantastic & the accommodations were great! I would recommend this location and I would return!

    David2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Janine was unbelievably friendly and helpful, and her home was comfortable and serene--and for a bargain price! We were more than two hours later than we'd told her and after we arrived late at night Janine was still awake even though she had to work early. Her breakfast was tasty, healthy, and entirely home-grown, her garden being a calm, beautiful spot to eat. And she gave us, being new to Indiana, directions on where to find an excellent Amish grocery store for later meals. It's fair to say that Janine's house was the best experience we've had with AirBNB yet.

    David2014-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, comfortable, welcoming....couldn't have asked for more (except for more time to enjoy the location and the company).

    Kristen2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time booking an airbnb by myself and I couldn't have asked for a better place and host. The house beautiful, the room and bed were cozy and warm (extra thick blanket and heater if needed). Janine was a friendly host and very thoughtful - asking me my preferences for breakfast, which was delicious by the way. I hope that I find myself again in Richmond, IN because I'd love to stay here again. Thanks for your hospitality Janine!

    CC2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Janine's house is lovely, with a comfortable bedroom and a nice living room she welcomed me to use. The breakfast was delicious, as others have noted. I enjoyed visiting with Janine over breakfast.

Our cottage is close to antique shopping and Earlham College. Relax surrounded by trees and natural sounds. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Children are welcome!
The cottage is surrounded by seven acres of woods and meadows. We often see or hear a wide variety of wildlife. The cottage is the smaller of two houses. Our family with a dog and two cats live in the larger house at the end of the shared driveway.
  • Jim and his family were very nice and accommodating. We loved their hospitality and how they were able to tailor our stay to provide a great place for our two young boys also. The cottage is perfect and has anything you would need for a stay including a full kitchen. It would be perfect for even longer stays also. The location is very convenient since it is very close to I-70 and rt 40. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend a stay here.

  • Jim's cottage was ideal for me - was quiet and self-contained so I could cook for myself and get on with writing up the past week of my journal. Unfortunately I ran out of time to explore the walking trails around the property. As a civilised and relaxing alternative to a roadside motel this place can't be beat.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It is a very private space that is detached from our primary home. It has a separate, private entrance. There is room for parking in the driveway. With a private bath and separate heating and cooling this space is perfect for someone to stay and feel like they have their own space. The Guest Suite is located one mile from Hobart Arena and also one mile from I-75.
This room has a big east facing window so you get plenty of morning sun. There is lots of natural light! There is a 55" flat screen TV and a listing of the channels that are available. There is also a coffee maker and a mini fridge for your convenience. A desk with plenty of work space is available for any travelers who may need it. Feel free to peruse our library for something interesting to read while you are here!
Within walking distance (or a short drive) of downtown Troy you can enjoy many local shops, boutiques, restaurants and activities. The city of Troy holds many festivals "On The Square", the most famous of which is the Strawberry Festival. This Festival is held the first weekend of June. Also the Great Miami River Trail runs through Troy, not far from my place. This is a 57 mile long bike & recreational trail that begins in Piqua and ends in Middletown. I am a 5 minute walk from the nationally recognized "Hobart Urban Nature Preserve". This beautiful preserve is located in the heart of Troy and is even home to a family of deer.
  • Well I honestly don't even know where to start! I will do so by sharing that my son and I both are sad to be leaving because we had such a wonderful stay with Christina and her family!! We loved the comfort and privacy of our guest suite. We took several walks around the neighborhood and even visited a near by nature preserve Christina told us about. We also enjoyed the many chit chats with Christina and her husband, while my son enjoyed playing in the yard and sand box with her kids. It was really more than I could ask for during this time of transition for us. In getting to know each other I feel that we have found some new friends! So much so that we will be coming back for a short stay in a few days lol! They are never getting rid of us now...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Christina's GUEST SUITE!!! Every time we left and came back it felt like we were coming into our own home because we were treated like family. We are very blessed because of it! Oh last thing, the breeze way is truly an added bonus!!

    Angela2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Christina's accommodation was delightful. Despite being attached to a main residence it feels very private and self-contained. It was quite cozy and clean too. Plus, getting to briefly meet her and her was family one morning was a pleasure—they were all very kind, friendly and welcoming. There was even one evening where I locked myself out of the place (via a convoluted series of post-wedding shenanigans)... yet when I called Christina, even though it was well after midnight, she picked up and with an "oh no problem!" attitude, went the extra mile to let me in. I felt bad about it, but she was super nice about the whole situation. So... I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a spot in the area! If you run into them, the hosts are wonderful, and the place is great :)

    Alex2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Your host family is gracious and responsive to any needs or concerns that you have. The location is great.

    Joyce2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Christina's place and as with my first visit, things could not have been more perfect. I could not find anything about the accommodations that was lacking and Christina was a great host.

    Cie2017-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay while in or near Troy. Separate from the main house, private, clean and stylish. Way better than a hotel room! The host is wonderful and friendly.

    JoAnn2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We greatly enjoyed the clean, private space, but the more memorable experience was absolutely the helpfulness and hospitality of Christina and her lovely family. We're considering relocation to the area and they were a wealth of helpful information and so welcoming to our family. We will absolutely stay again on our return to Troy.

    Kate2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place for us to stay. It is very accurate to the listing. There was a lot of space for it being just a room and a bath. it is very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is nice having the mini fridge for our traveling food. It was easy to get to and a very nice neighborhood so we felt very safe. Christina was really easy to work with and made our stay very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.
