Holiday Rentals in Deal

Just booked in Deal

Lavender Cottage (built 1805) is a charming 3 storey Georgian property. It's truly unique for a Georgian cottage as it has huge (mainly walled) garden (not a small courtyard) with free adjacent parking for un/loading. There is the added bonus of the free use of a beach hut located on the beautiful Walmer strand. The ultimate English seaside experience! It's great for eating fish and chips on the beach and sheltering from the sun /harsher elements ! Ideal for children and four legged friends!
Lavender Cottage is, we hope, a real bolt hole so we hope that it feels like that to you too. There is a snug with a large open fire, separate dining room/kitchen with dishwasher/2 double bedrooms/bathroom- there is a half door leading (from the cottage to the garden) where there are 2 outbuildings. One houses an outside w/c and the second houses a laundry room, with washing machine and a freezer. The Cottage is quirky and homely, with the added advantage of being perfectly located for the beach, the town and the Castle (5 min walk to each). Unlike a lot of Deal guests can park for 2 hours opposite the Cottage so ideal for loading and unloading. There are some parking restrictions on the street during the day. In the Welcome Pack I have details of alternate parking options, which may be useful. Again, unlike most Georgian properties there is a large garden, with a large decking/eating area- with a garden sofa, arm chairs and lots of seating options. There is also a hammock and a garden fire basket for those long summer evenings. There is a half door in the hall way so the house can be flooded with light during the summer months. There is a family dining room with lots of seating, and a pasta marble topped table (if you feel tempted to have a go!!). This is easily wiped so also perfect for crafting or playing board games. In the snug there is a TV with all of the free view channels and an inbuilt DVD player. There are also lots of books/games/music/DVDS and an open fire for those who want to get away from it all. There are Fogarty duvets, with extra bedspreads/duvets/pillows and hot water bottles and electric blankets so it should make for a snug nights sleep no matter the season.
We have the added advantage of having a beach hut on Walmer Strand which is adjacent to the Sea Cafe which we let visitors use. It is near to the Paddling Pool and ideal for listening to the concerts at the bandstand which are on every Sunday during the summer months. There are some bodyboards/ a camping stove with kettle (coffee and hot chocolate), cards/books, windup radio, blankets and fold away chairs. We love the beach hut because it enables us to spend all day on the beach even in the rain! There are a number of fantastic pubs, eateries, castles, golf courses and day trips all of which we have detailed in our Welcome Pack.
  • A lovely place to stay. Ideally situated for the town & beach and for exploring the wider area. We loved all the personal touches and felt very welcome. Mary-Jo catered really well for families and everything we needed for young kids was provided. Will definitely stay again if we're in the area.

  • We had a brilliant week staying at lavender cottage. It was very clean which was ideal as we have an 11 month old who is crawling. Everything was in walking distance in Deal so walking into town, to the swimming pool, to sainsburys was very handy. However, we spent alot of time in broadstairs and margate as Deal is quite small and the stoney beach wasn't very practical for our crawling boy, which we should have thought about before we went but was still worth visiting. We loved walking to the pier and had a lovely breakfast at the cafe at the end of it which Mary-jo recommended. Mary-jo was a brilliant host and gave us lots of useful information. You can tell this is a very loved home and has been taken care of as it's been beautifully decorated. I thoroughly recommend staying at lavender cottage.

  • Our stay at lavender cottage was lovely. Located only minutes from deal beach, It's a cosy cottage over 3 floors, really enjoyed lighting the wood fire in the sitting room! The rooms were comfortable and well decorated Mary Jo provided us with excellent recommendations and the pub the zetland arms was a great location with wonderful food and wine! Shame it rained on the long walk back....

    Heena2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the cottage and Deal itself. The cottage was even better than the photos and description, it had everything we needed and more. Deal was full of little surprises, it felt like a little oasis. Mary-Jo sent us so much information and it felt like she was just a phone call away if we needed her. Definitely recommended!

    Rebecca2015-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Lavender cottage! Although we didn't meet Mary-Jo in person, she was extremely helpful, prompt to reply and provided us with comprehensive instructions and recommendations (she even checked what was on at Deal during our week-end). Her cottage is tastefully decorated, really well equipped, impeccably clean as well as quiet and cozy. Our evenings in the snug by the fireplace felt like a wonderful treat and I cam imagine that the beautiful garden must be wonderful in the summer. We loved Mary-Jo's attention to detail and hope to come back soon: this really felt like home from home.

  • Absolutely lovely house ideally situated in the middle of Deal. 2mins from train station and a big Sainsburys and right by the sea. The house itself is wonderful inside - exactly like the pictures - and has a really big garden area. Mary - Jo made us feel very welcome. Thank you!

  • We had a lovely family stay at the cottage over NYE. The cottage has its quirks and is extremely characterful and charming. It was extra cosy at night with the fire, and the beach hut was a real bonus for us, even in the winter. The location is perfect, being just a few minutes from the high street and the local supermarket. It was also very close to the beach, Deal Castle and the local swimming pool (great for the kids). Mary-Jo sent us plenty of information before the trip, which helped us choose a great pub to eat in on New Years Day (The Zetland Arms) and she was communicative throughout our stay.

    Dave2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Marie-Jo was a perfect host, in addition to her kindness, she was always reachable and really pays attention to details for every single thing in the cottage. We had a wonderful time there, we definitely felt like home in that very cosy atmosphere. We really enjoyed our time arround the fireplace, which is to me make that place so special and charming.

The location could not be better to wander the streets and soak in the sights of this historic seaside town which is one of the friendliest we've ever encountered. A memorable experience.

  • Great central location and base to see this part of the coast. The apartment has a lovely balcony and everything you need, we loved the fairy lights in the living area ☺️ Janey is so warm and welcoming, a great host.

  • Great location, a very accommodating host, everything was exactly as advertised. You should have a wonderful time

  • We spent our babies 1st Christmas at Lloyd’s Court and loved every minute, in between both parents was the perfect sanctuary for the busy time. Everything was perfect for us in the apartment we all slept so well and the dog was instantly relaxing when we arrived. Deal is a lovely little tone with lots of new independent shops and bars which is always refreshing. We will definitely be coming back to Lloyd’s Court to stay in the near further.

    Charlie2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bright comfortable apartment with everything you need for an enjoyable stay and ideally located to explore the area.

    shirley2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, self-contained apartment. Janey is an exceptionally welcoming and friendly host. Great communication and we were pleasantly greeted, upon arrival, Janey provided a resident parking permit (the car park is located behind the property, access via Peter St). The terrace is a sun trap during the day and a wonderful, cool place to relax in the evening. The apartment has everything you need: electric hobs, microwave, pots n pans, cups, TWO coffee makers, toaster, a plethora of tea choices and of course, cutlery. The Bluetooth speaker is superb. Wifi is accessible and runs well when we had 5 devices accessing and streaming. The linen is clean, a generous number of towels and the beds are superbly comfortable... NB: the apartment has two dbl beds however, these can be split to create 4 singles. Let Janey know beforehand if you need this done. The flat, being 1st floor, is warm. Visiting during a gloriously sunny (21-23degree) bank holiday, we didn't need heating! There is a boiler however, which heats the radiators in the flat very quickly! Practically instant dry towels! There are some toiletries provided and the flat has PLENTY of sockets for those that are travelling with tech that needs charging. The apartment is within a 5min walk from local shops (the HighSt cafes and bars) and the seafront! An additional 5min although no the seafront to various bars, pubs, restaurants and shops. An additional 1minute and you'll find Deal Castle and general shops such as Sainsbury's, M&S, etc and Deal train station. Chilled, relaxing - I felt totally at home here. I'll certainly be staying again! Thank you Janey. She's magical xxx

    Red2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Super apartment with everything you need and great friendly host. Much bigger than expected. Janey has thought of everything to make your stay wonderful, in this lovely first floor apartment with sunny terrace. Unfortunately it rained when we were there, but it would have been lovely to have sat out if only we had arrived the night before. Janey couldn't change the weather, but she did loan us an umbrella so we didn't get too wet exploring the sites. Great host and apartment.

    Judy2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the appartment. Communication with Janey was quick and easy, and the appartment itself was top class. Quiet, neat, modernly furnished and well located. We absolutely recommend this place for up to four persons.

Deal is an amazing little town on the Kent coast. Full of character and friendly people. It was announced that Deal was awarded "High Street of the year in 2014" and number 1 seaside resort to move to in 2017 by the Sunday Times. The Market on a Saturday morning at the bottom of Farrier Street in the main car park has a great atmosphere selling food, antiques and unique items. The high street has many individual shops and some fantastic restaurants to visit.
  • The house is a beautiful little get away just 2 minutes walk from the sea. It is a stunning and cosy little house with a cute courtyard which catches the sun, perfect for a late weekend breakfast. The town is a good mix of relaxed with lots of quirky little shops which hours are easily spent wandering around in. There is a market on the Saturday at the end of the street. Lorraine and her husband were both incredibly helpful and an absolute pleasure to interact with.

  • Beautiful little cottage, which turns into the Tardis! Plenty of room, and immaculately presented with great taste. The location is perfect, and you are right in the heart of historic Deal, only a stone's throw from the beach. Everything is just a short walk away. We will certainly be returning.

  • We all loved our stay at the Folly. There was plenty of space, the amenities were fantastic and best of all the location as it was merely 30 seconds from the beach.

  • Had a wonderful stay at the Folly could not have asked for anything more and it was such a brilliant location too.

  • Lorraine's place, Margery's Folly, is a wonderful and charming little cottage just steps from the shore. We loved our time there. It is decorated beautifully, and Lorraine and her husband are wonderful hosts. They were willing to pick us up from the train station and made sure we had everything that we needed and were quite understanding about all of our needs traveling with a small child. We would highly recommend this place and can't wait for our next visit to Deal.

    Gregory2017-07-15T00:00:00Z

  • Perfect beachfront cottage for a weekend away from London. Characterful property just a few minutes from the station and with sea views. Very clean, well stocked for things you need, and right next to some lovely pubs. Responses from Lisa were quick and friendly. No fuss. Deal is a great place to spend a couple of days. Thanks!

    Steve2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nelson Cottage is a great property, clean, nicely furnished and superbly situated on the seafront just a pebble's throw from the pier and the town centre. Deal has an array of good restaurants, pubs and bars (the Taphouse Beer Café being a particular favourite!). Despite the bracing winter coastal weather the Cottage was always warm and provided a homely sanctuary away from the elements. Given the super-convenient position of the property it is not possible to park outside the cottage however we managed to find free parking a bit further along the coast in Marine Road, just a 10 minute walk away. We had a great festive break and would not hesitate in recommending Nelson Cottage to others. Lisa was a fab host & communication was very efficient at all times. A credit to Airbnb! • My family and I had a wonderful stay in Deal. The cottage was very clean, on a great holiday location and had a lovely atmosphere. It's even much nicer than the photos already suggest. Also the contact with Lisa was very pleasant and last minute adjustments to check in and check out time were no trouble at all.

    Karin2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage right in the centre of Deal - it’s an ideal location. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

  • Very happy to recommend this cottage. Deal is an outstanding place for a weekend foodie break, or a stay by the sea. The cottage is very centrally located and the bedrooms have a great view of the seafront. We especially enjoyed the deep bath and powerful modern shower. Lisa was a thoughtful host who revised some very nice personal touches.

    Mark2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you are visiting Deal. So good we didn't want to leave. We had pretty bad weather but the cottage stayed warm and cosy. Lisa was in contact during our stay which was nice, I'm sure if we had any problems she'd be there in a flash to sort out. Credit to her the cottage is amazing, clean and fresh with a coastal feel - just what we wanted!

  • Great small house, perfect for a family get away. Very close to the beach and the main street, High Street. Loved Ashley's attention to details, which you can find in all the house decoration and ammenities. The the little nice welcome pack of wine, orange juice and milk is just a small add on to our very pleasant experience! Thanks, Ashley & Scott, looking forward to come back!

  • Very lovely cottage in Deal nearby the sea, the style of the cottage is (for us from Germany) very British and it looks like "Vintage". We spent five days in the cottage with three persons and found all what we needed. Threre is enough space: three bedrooms with enough space to store all our things, a very large kitchen with all interior we needed, dinette and couch for television in the living space, free and very fast WLAN - and a very nice bathroom with a spacious shower. By foot we were in some minutes on the beach, in pubs or restaurants (that you can find all around here), in Deal Castle and also in the centre of Deal. Possibility to buy food is easy: not far away there is a big supermarket. By car we reached also a lot of attractions like Dover Castle, Canterbury, the White Cliffs or Wingham Wildlife Park. To the ferry of Dover it takes also only a short time. In summary we had five nice days in Kent. We loved the calm in the cottage but also outside.

  • Beautiful house, close to everything. not great for small children as no bannister. plus very noisy house as no carpets and top bedroom has no door.

    Daisy2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a short weekend getaway and could not have picked a more ideal house. Beautifully decorated and finished in neutral tones made for a relaxing and calm environment. Our daughter loved the crows nest bed and her room. Lovely personal touches like kid's books for her to explore. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is fantastic, a minute from the beach and a few minutes from the high street, both offering a selection of great dining, and some really interesting and lovely independent shops. Our hosts were excellent from pre-booking right through to check out. Highly recommend!

Stylish Victorian home behind Deal castle, only a 5 min walk to the beach, and 10 mins to Deal High Street. The house has a cosy sitting room, a large, fully equipped kitchen with separate dining area, 2 bedrooms with comfy beds (1 king & 1 double), a full bathroom upstairs & downstairs WC, and a separate utility area with washer and tumble dryer. With a private garden and lane access for bikes, this house is the perfect beach getaway for families or friends.
We've furnished the home with a mix of modern and vintage furnishings, offering our guests comfort and style during their stay. In the sitting room you'll find a comfy sofa and arm chairs, as well as a large bean bag for really relaxing. The dining room has a large dining table, with 6 chairs. There's certainly enough space for guests to relax and enjoy a dinner at home on holiday. There are two separate bedrooms upstairs, one with a king bed and one with a double bed. The king room also has a small balcony overlooking the private garden. There is a family bathroom upstairs between the two bedrooms. The bathroom has a full "P-shaped" bathtub as well as a rain shower. You will also find a very convenient downstairs WC behind the kitchen, near the garden access. The garden is private to the house, and has lane access from the rear, in case you'd like to bring bikes with you for a ride along the coast (which we recommend!). We've also been conscious that people will want to make use of the facilities, and so have left the kitchen fully equipped with the items we use day to day, and have provided a washer, tumble dryer and ironing facilities.
Deal itself is a beautiful little town full of quaint shops, and great restaurants and cafés. The house is only a short walk from the high street, and the beach. A short drive away are several other historic port towns, as well as the beautiful Canterbury with its famous cathedral. There is also a very easy to ride cycle path along the coast down to Kingsdown beach and St Margaret's bay. Golf lovers may be interested in the Royal St George's Golf Club just up the road.

Steps from the beach and a stones throw from the town centre with its award winning high street that boasts a wonderful collection of restaurants, cafes and antique shops. Primrose cottage has easy access to local pubs serving fantastic food and wonderfully old fashioned fish and chip shops along Deal’s historic seafront.
Walking in from the cobbled alley that comes up from the beach, you will find a small but perfectly formed kitchen complete with dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker and hob, washing machine and tumble dryer. The cupboards have been stocked with a plethora of utensils and crockery for your home away from home cooked meals. The living room has a cosy feel with a comfy sofa and lovingly restored chalk painted furniture. The sofa turns out into a four foot bed, it’s not huge but is perfect for an additional couple who are happy to sleep in close quarters. Additional linen will be made available for all bookings over two people (£10 supplement applies). A smart tv with all the freeview channels sits in the corner and there is free WiFi for guests to use throughout their stay. Upstairs a comfy double bed dressed in fine linens awaits under a beamed apex ceiling. There is a small bathroom with electric shower immediately off the bedroom. Whilst there is no outside area attached to the cottage we are exceedingly close to the beach. We recommend you grab the canvas folding chairs provided and walk the few steps to the seafront to sit at the foot of pier for a perfect view. The sunsets are magnificent!
Deal has won awards for having the best high street in the UK numerous times in recent years. It is the perfect mix of kitsch cafes, adorable bric a brac shops and atmospheric old English pubs. The seafront is quintessentially British with a promenade that you can walk all the way to Kingsdown and the pier entrance is literally 30 seconds from your door. This corner of Kent is a vestige of historical interest. Deal castle is adjacent to the town centre and is certainly worth a look however a short car ride or bus trip across to Walmer Castle with its beautiful gardens is highly recommended. Of course, Dover with its mix of medieval and recent history is really not too far down the coast. If you are a golfing fan, the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club provides world class greens just a short journey out of the town. If you are looking for a (not so well kept) secret cove then a journey to St Margaret’s Bay should also be on your agenda.

Bright and comfortable flat close to the sea front!
Welcome to my 1 bedroom apartment located in the historic coastal town of Deal. The flat is in a converted building (built in the mid 1800s and formerly Deal Library) in a conservation area. It is only a short stroll to the popular high street, seafront, pier and promenade. The flat has high ceilings and sash windows and has a large lounge and dining area with steps down to the fully equipped kitchen. Wifi and TV with NOWTV & Sky channels included. Within the quiet bedroom is a comfortable double bed and cupboards. It is a perfect base to explore the beautiful South East Kent coast and relax by the sea. It is also a short drive (15 minutes) to the ferry port of Dover if you are travelling from or to Europe. Parking is available and if you are arriving by train, the station is only 5 minutes walk from the accommodation.
Lovely conservation area homes and minutes stroll from the sea and shops. Lots of great pubs, coffee shops and restaurants practically on your doorstep.
  • I often visit Deal and stay in hotels but from now I will always check this place first. Janet is very welcoming and the flat has everything you need to get settled including fresh milk! Great bathroom, small but nice kitchen and can easily prepare meals with all kitchenware provided. Spacious living room and bedroom with plenty of storage. Two minutes from the town centre and beach front. Highly recommended.

Superb 3rd floor 2 bed/bath flat, with additional good quality small double Z bed and floor mattress suitable for children. Our flat is located in a listed 17th century building, steeped in character but with all modern appliances. Overlooking the beach, spectacular sea views and private roof terrace. It is walking distance into town centre, bars and restaurants. I am local and can advise on activities, bars, restaurants, best beaches etc ....
'The Crows Nest" is a fabulous recently renovated top floor 2 bedroom flat in a 17th century building in the heart of the conservation area. Overlooking the beach with direct sea views (all the way to France), its a really warm space with a log burner if you wish to be really toasty, although in the spring and summer I am sure you will take full advantage of the roof terrace.
Local restaurants well worth visiting: Victuals, The Frog and Scot, The Black Douglas - the best breakfast and great evening meal in relaxed setting, 81 Beach Street, Burger Brothers, The Fleur de Lis in Sandwich, Middle Street Fish bar Local bars:-Bloody Marys, Frog and Scot, The Just Reproach and the Bohemian Located in the conservation area the flat is centrally located, walking distance to all the restaurants, bars, shops. Walmer, Deal and Sandown Castles (now just ruins), Cinque Ports Golf Club, Tides swimming pool and Gym.
  • We really loved staying here - it was even better than expected. Sarah made us feel very welcome. Definitely the place to stay for a weekend away in Deal. It is homely without the sense of staying in someone's home, has the air of boutique hotel and is just that bit special. Location is spot on and is walking distance to everything you could need. The view couldn't be much better if you are after a sea view.

  • We can't recommend Sarah's apartment enough! We had a lovely few days in Deal and this was mainly down to having such a nice place to stay. The finishing touches around the flat are amazing, everything that you could possibly need is provided and the sea view is incredible! Sarah gave us some great tips on Dog walks and restaurants etc, which were really helpful. We'll definitely be going back to stay again (hopefully soon!). Sarah and Ian are perfect hosts.

  • We had a great weekend in Deal- flat was exactly as indicated. All the fixtures and fitting are high end and of good quality. However- there were no sea views :( as there was scaffolding and netting around the whole building. I think we should have been told this before we arrived. Also if you are planning to stay during the working week there may be workmen walking around the windows.

  • Sarah made us feel so welcome in her gorgeous flat. It was beautifully decorated, so comfortable and she and Ian were utterly charming. We would return in a dash and didn't want to leave! Sarah was so helpful in where to go to eat and even made us some delicious bread! It was a perfect stay and we really look forward to returning!

  • Brilliant host, made us feel so welcome. Provided flowers and prosecco as it was my birthday with a little chalk board message, so lovely. The listing does not do this place justice. It is such a gorgeous flat, the attention to detail décor wise is amazing, design is high end throughout, the owners have impeccable taste. Location is perfect, you can park up on site for the whole weekend and walk everywhere. The views from all windows are outstanding. Thanks for a brilliant weekend, we will certainly return!

  • My partner and I were hoping the apartment would be as lovely as the photos - it exceeded expectation! Beautifully presented and artfully decorated with an eye to detail. I could have moved in permanently. Would recommend to anyone wanting a break. Deal has interesting shops, great pubs with really good food and the surrounding area is lovely too. Will hopefully be back before too long. Jan who met us was really helpful about the local area.

  • Sarah appeared whilst we were preparing to get into the flat. She was very friendly and welcoming and ensured we were okay. Absolutely loved our stay in Crow's Nest, it was comfortable and peaceful. Loved the sea view from our bedroom. Will definitely return.

Sitting on the Deal seafront, looking out over the English Channel, this imaginatively renovated former 18th-century public house offers you the intimacy of an authentic Kentish fishing town. Whether you choose to spend your time sampling the delights of super fresh seafood and local ale, or taking in the limitless fresh air walking the coastal paths, or working on your handicap on one of the local championship golf courses, you’ll end every day in the charm and comfort of this beautiful home.
Recently renovated from top to bottom, the property boasts fantastic views across the English Channel. Situated on the edge of the historic old town, it's just two minutes walk from the bustling high street with its quirky shops, dozens of restaurants and bars. Each and every element of this former public house has been carefully considered: From the state-of-the-art private cinema in the old beer cellar to the repurposing of the saloon bar into a bright, yet cosy entertaining and dining space, a modern fully fitted kitchen, with adjoining breakfast-coffee bar, to the creation of five double en-suite bedrooms featuring contemporary furnishings and designer fittings. The house makes a perfect base to explore the areas' exceptional mix of golf courses. Three superb championship links courses, Royal Cinque Ports, Royal St Georges and Princes Golf Club, plus two downland courses in nearby Walmer & Kingsdown and North Foreland. The house is unique for this location given its size, amenities and level of finish. No expense has been spared to create a unique and stylish coastal home set over four floors. All the five en-suite bedrooms have super-king beds, dressed in luxurious White Company bedding and the bathrooms all feature powerful monsoon showers. The spacious, state-of-the-art kitchen comes fully equipped with every item of kitchenware you could possibly need to rustle up anything from a snack to a gourmet meal. The main living area was the former pub's saloon bar, and in tribute to the building’s rich history has been fitted with a copper-topped bar, a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail while looking out across the water. In keeping with the pub theme, there's a second “breakfast and coffee bar” next to the kitchen, an ideal spot for a leisurely morning read. The former beer cellar has been converted into a cinema and is now a secret haven to unwind and indulge a media fix. Guests have access to fast, reliable WiFi in every corner of the property and a large washer and dryer for their personal use. The property has central heating throughout, with underfloor in the en-suites, making it a cosy bolthole even on the chilliest of days. A house manager will be available to assist you with any needs you may have. A truly relaxing escape awaits.
Deal is a charming and vibrant town with a profusion of unique and individual shops. There's a great selection of restaurants from fine dining to casual fish and chips, a pub or bar on virtually every street offering all sorts of local beers, ales and ciders. And should you need to work off all that indulgence, coastal trails and bike paths run right past the front door. The area is rich in history and easy to explore on foot, from the mazy smugglers' lanes that run off the photogenic seafront that's home to a sweeping pier and quirky maritime clock, to a brace of Tudor Castles. Take time to prowl the battlements and captain's quarters at Deal Castle, then visit nearby Walmer - this former command post to the Duke of Wellington even features an original pair of his Wellington boots.
  • The Admiral Penn is an amazing property. The decor is stunning and we had a fantastic time, sitting at the bar or watching movies in the brilliant cinema room. The bedrooms are all beautiful and the beds are big and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back. It’s location right on the seafront is perfect for people watching and popping out to the local bars and restaurants.

Beautifully converted luxury apartment in a period property on the picturesque seafront. A stone's throw from the beach & within the sound of the rolling waves. Free parking directly outside & a short stroll to the heart of the vibrant town centre. Three spacious bedrooms all on one level.
This spacious three bed apartment has been sensitively renovated, whilst maintaining its period features of 1894, including original fireplaces in every room, the tiniest letter box and cornicing worthy of a wedding cake! All on one level, with no stairs, the apartment is ideal for families with young children or people with limited mobility. Please note however that there are 6 steps down to access the front door, these are well lit and have a very good hand rail.
Deal is a vibrant, working town with a great mix of independent shops and restaurants which helped it to win UK High Street of the Year 2014. There are a number of English heritage sites nearby, including the two 16th Century castles of Deal and Walmer both within walking distance of the apartment. The historic city of Canterbury with its famous Cathedral is a short drive away, whilst if you prefer something more modern then Margates Turner Contemporary Art Gallery is just as close. We have three world class Golf course within a 15min drive of the apartment, including the 2011 British Golf Open course at Royal St Georges. There is also great sea fishing right outside the door, and if you don't get a bite then the local fish and chip shop will even deliver to the beach! Deal is located in the heart of White Cliffs Country. A great base from where you can enjoy the coast and countryside of East Kent, the garden of England and all its history- and of course close enough to nip across the Channel for lunch!
  • We were really pleased with the spaciousness of the bedrooms and the completeness of the equipment for a self catering place. We thought street parking might be a problem but in the event we always found a place just outside.Good toys for our 2 year old granddaughter.Excellent access to the shingle beach which is great if you have a kayak or paddleboard as we did.

  • One of the best experiences of our trip! Molly and Angus and their family are terrific people. We hung out with them several nights while we stayed, and would've loved to have spent more time in Deal. This listing is exactly as described. Parking is on the street right in front of the house. It is a 30 second walk to the beach and a 5-10 minute walk to anything else, including restaurants, bakeries, grocery store, and more. The high street in Deal is fantastic. There are lots of other things to do in the area, as well. Our kids, ranging in age from 4-13 thought the area was great, as well. Overall, a 5-star accommodation and a 5-star host!

    Jeff2016-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Molly's place and would recommend it to anyone thinking about staying here. The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated with plenty of space for a family. It is also really child friendly with plenty of toys, books, dvds and baby equipment available. It felt like a home away from home and we would definitely stay again. Deal is also a lovely town and we had a beautiful walk along the seaside to town and loved exploring the unique shops found in the town centre.

    Jana2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very comfortable well equipped and the bedrooms are especially spacious. We loved being so close to the sea and its well placed for shops etc Would highly recommend Molly's place

  • We loved the three spacious bedrooms, the two en-suite shower rooms and the third family bathroom. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is fully appointed and the location is excellent for walking to the high street, the castle, restaurants, the pier etc. The children’s toys (and other child paraphernalia!) Molly provided were a hit with our three year old, and being right on the beach front was a joy for us all. Molly is a gracious host.

  • Molly’s home is in the wonderful town of Deal right on the seafront. There isn’t a view as such but you are straight onto the seafront. We were very comfortable there with a well equipped kitchen, loads of books, dvds , and despite the weather not being brilliant we had a great time. We celebrated New Year with the town Fireworks. The town has lots of restaurants, coffee shops, arts and crafts shops etc We were pleasantly surprised

    Jennie2018-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Molly's apartment is in a fabulous location right on the water. It was perfect for our stay in Deal. She couldn't be more helpful at helping us feel welcomed. Thank you!

  • Molly's place was absolutely wonderful and just what was needed for a New Year's Eve retreat for three couples over three nights. Bedrooms are huge with comfy beds, the lounge is cosy and the kitchen has everything you could need for a self-catering stay. It is perfectly located for a wander into Deal, or for a longer walk up the coast to some beautiful nature reserves (the seal colony on the Stour Estuary is not to be missed). Deal is a lovely seaside town with good pubs and restaurants. It's also dead easy to reach from London. Our stay was, in a word, perfect.

6 guests in beds and 2 guests on mattresses on the floor. 2 rooms available. Deal is a delightful seaside town with a thriving music scene. We are close to world heritage site of Canterbury with easy access to Europe via Dover, Ramsgate and Euro-tunnel
Our delightful 17th century property has many historical features and a wealth of character. We have 2 bedrooms available and can easily fit in up to 6 and 8 if you are okay with a mattress on the floor.
We live in a semi rural location close to the town, seaside and all amenities. Deal has an interesting and chequered past and was the main port used by Smuggling gangs bringing in wine and brandy from France. The old town is worth a visit with its smugglers cottages and the Time Ball Tower and museum. Nelson was a regular visitor. The Duke of Wellington lived at Walmer Castle and in fact died in his armchair there. There are many historical sites locally including the castles of Deal, Walmer and Dover. The Turner gallery in Margate is a must for art lovers. Margate also has the recently renovated Dreamland-a Victorian style fairground and amusements. The World heritage site of Canterbury is a short drive away or accessible by bus or train. The ancient, medieval, cinque port of Sandwich, with its recently discovered original copy of the Magna Carta, is 5 miles away. The British Open Golf tournament is often held at the Royal St George's Golf Club Sandwich and there are excellent facilities locally for the Golf lover. There are spectacular walks along the White Cliffs of Dover and local countryside strolls. There is a thriving music scene in Deal with Music festivals and music pubs and the Astor Theatre There are many lovely restaurants and cafes-worth a wander round to chose what suits you.
  • We had a lovely stay at Seersha's house. The room was big and the beds very nice. Perfect for our travel from Dover the next day. The kids loved playing with the music instruments at that was no problem. They also adored the dog. The next they with sunlight we noticed how beautiful the is from the outside.

  • Seersha made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, by inviting us to join her BBQ with friends and giving us two room options. We had very little time in Deal due to late arrival after a horrendous journey. Seersha and her husband both gave us great advice about making the best of our short time there and giving us excellent directions for our journey to catch the ferry at Dover the following day. An unexpected bonus was the vegan friendly breakfast options.

  • We were only around for about twelve hours (we arrived late and had to leave early), but we felt most welcome and Seersha and her husband were very very helpful. We stayed in a room where the five of us could sleep together, as promised. It would've been fun to have more time to hang around in the great garden. Our daughters were also very happy there.

We are in Deal's conservation area, an amazingly well preserved network of streets dating back to the 16th century, and the centre of the town's legendary smuggling industry in days gone by.
  • It’s not easy finding a beautiful place, with great amenities, that’s sparkling clean, in a great location that doesn’t mind you lugging along a pooch and a baby - but we found one! Rob’s stylish cottage was just what we needed for a last minute getaway. Seconds from the beach, pubs and boutique shops. Saturday afternoon was spent walking the dog before an excellent Thai takeaway and a movie. Then on Sunday we had a great sunny morning dog walk before a scrumptious lunch and drinks at The Bohemian (and a cheeky waffle at the ice cream parlour!) thanks again Rob, we’ll be back!

    Vanessa2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated, conveniently located and with great amenities. The shipbuilder in our family was very impressed that the old wooden partition walls had been retained as well as some of the old gas light fixtures. The large double bed is particularly comfy and the courtyard is a welcome secluded bit of outside space. Adults and teenagers in our party all loved the house. Thank you Rob

  • Rob's 17 century row house in Deal is loaded with character and located in a convenient location for exploring the town by foot. The property's recent refurbishment was evident - everything felt new and fresh. Despite the rain, the rear garden was a lovely addition to this well equipped property. The beds were very comfortable and the location was quiet. Literally a minute walk to the beach and a short walk to the high street, we spent our Saturday checking out the market and the strolling along the promenade. Loads of great antique shopping to be had on the High Street - next time we will need to come sans kids. Many thanks for a lovely impromptu weekend away!

'Little Bird' is a refurbished Georgian 2 bedroom home in Deal's beautiful conservation area. It's just one street away from the beach and award winning High Street. Set over four floors, the house sleeps 4 and has 2 double bedrooms and 1 shower room. The second bedroom can be converted into a twin. A beautiful kitchen leads out onto a courtyard for outdoor eating and there is a further dining room in the basement. Escape, relax and recharge.
We use 'Little Bird' as a place to relax. With this in mind we have made the house as comfortable as we can. The house is set over four floors, on the ground floor is a sitting room with wood fired burner, TV and wi-fi which leads into the kitchen. The courtyard is accessed from here through double doors and has seating for four. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with a king size bed which can also be made into two single beds. Just let us know at the time of booking and we can sort this for you. The second floor has a king size bed and the room is open to the rafters. The basement has a dining table and chairs for 4 people. Whilst refurbishing the home, our aim was for this to feel like home from home. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided along with towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Plus there is a washer/dryer, dishwasher, mircrowave, fridge and freezer. There is a shower room but no bath however we can provide an inflatable bath for babies. Also for children is a travel cot, potty, high chair, baby gate for the stairs, a baby step for cleaning their teeth and reaching the basin.
Deal, and particularly the conservation area is wonderful. Lots of little streets full of beautiful listed buildings which have remained untouched for centuries. Everything is a stone's throw away - the beach, the award winning high street can be walked to in minutes. It is a happy community and everyone is happy to help visitors enjoy the town. A full guide of restaurants, coffee shops and places we like to visit in Deal is available when you stay. Deal is a busy little town and restaurants do get booked up so we definitely recommend you booking ahead if you want to eat out. For the most up to date reviews we recommend Trip Advisor.
  • Our second stay at this lovely cottage,!! very tasteful, cosy and comfortable , great in winter and summer!!

    Guy2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful little house, very cosy and warm on a November weekend and I'm sure it would be lovely in the warmer weather too - e.g. to eat out in the small courtyard on a summers evening. A perfect location just a short walk from Deal beach and the town centre. The road and surrounding streets are narrow with no parking, which really enhances the environment. Would definitely recommend for a couple or two friends - might be a bit crowded with four adults?

  • We stayed here on a cold December weekend and it was perfect. The house is stylish, clean and comfortable, nice and quiet but right near the sea and town. There are lots of lovely restaurants and shops around and Emma was a super helpful host, recommending places to go and answering questions quickly. I'd like to live in that house!

The cottage is beautifully decorated and well appointed with high quality versions of everything you could possibly want. Communication with our hosts was both speedy and easy and fulsome but easy to follow instructions on the property were provided prior to check in. Highly recommended!

  • Emma was a brilliant host-certainly the best I have ever had! The house is gorgeous, in a lovely area of Deal, really well equipped and furnished with style and flair. Emma was in touch often and also was able to make a reservation for us at a local supper club for a special occasion. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again-it's as good as air bob gets.

  • Very clean and welcoming room. Excellent breakfast buffet, and a very well equipped room with lovely extra touches like bathrobes, earplugs and even a first aid kit. We really appreciated Steph giving us a lift into town on our first evening to get us orientated in the town centre, so we could have a couple of drinks with dinner and walk home.

    Rosie2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steph was fantastic. The room was comfy and exactly like the pictures. About 15 mins walk to the beach front and a nice and quiet location.

    Leigh2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie made us feel very welcome indeed, and prepared our room beautifully - fluffy towels and duvet, even mini toiletries and fresh fruit which we weren't expecting. And a welcome pack with lots of info about things to see and do in the area. And breakfast was fantastic. Stephanie is a very gracious host!

"The Anchors" Seaside Cottage is located in the Victorian town of Deal, England. Once a Coastguard cottage "The Anchors" looks out across the sea. It has been modernised to be warm and comfy yet retains its original peaceful, sunny layout. Gaze out to France with a good book, or BBQ in the seaside garden. Relax. A walk to Deals pubs, Pier or market takes 10 mins. Walk/cycle to a round of golf ~ 15 mins or park outside the house and explore France via Dover ferry ~ 20mins by car.
  • We had a fantastic couple of days at the Anchors. Deal is a lovely destination and Ed’s place is in a great location. About 10 mins walk to the centre (less if you get a move on) and the great pubs, coffee shops and restaurants that deal has to offer. The house is pretty unique in that you are on the sea front with great views, but set well back so not disturbed by the road. Really clean and well set out house. Ed was very helpful when g great great comms.

  • We had a lovely stay at Eds place in Deal. The perfect location and some lovely walks to do locally. The accommodation itself was homely, clean and very comfortable- the open fire set up and ready to go was a lovely touch. The beds were comfy and the house was warm when we arrived. Thank you Ed!!

    Gareth2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ed stepped in at the last minute when our other plans fell through. One minute we were booking and a couple of hours later we were settling into Anchors! What a lovely bright, spacious and exceptionally clean house. Loads of character - superb views of the sea and the epic sunrise! Deal centre is a lovely 10 minute walk, either along the seafront or winding through the back streets. So even though you are near everything it also feels like you step away from the centre when you arrive home. Ed was a brilliant host from start to finish. The perfect Airbnb experience.

  • Would recommend the Anchors for a stay in Deal. Only approx 10 mins walk to Central Deal with its amenities. Ed was very quick with his responses with any query we had. Will be back

  • This was our second time at Max's lovely house. We truly enjoyed it, and will be back for sure: can't fault anything, location is perfect, central but quiet. As a plus wifi was working with no problems this time. As a suggestion, microwave would be handy. All the best, Remi Patrycja and Zofia

  • Ideally situated and comfortable.

  • What a gem of a house! It's like staying in your own private boutique hotel: everywhere is decorated beautifully and the kitchen is one of the best equipped we've seen! There are house-owned picnic sets and toys for the children to use at the beach which is brilliant. It's a very easy stroll into fabulous Deal with it's wonderful cafes and shops. We had a fantastic stay.

  • Really lovely property - great location and stylish house. Had a fab time exploring Deal and enjoying the house. Very comfortable beds and loved the TV snug which was very cosy in the evenings. Quite steep stairs down to the snug which were little tricky with a young baby but worthwhile. Max was a great host - very friendly and helpful to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

  • Andrew and Christine were a lovely couple and friendly hosts. We had some great evening chats and felt really welcome in their home. Great location in Walmer, close to the castles, beach, white cliffs, and high street. We had our own car and never had trouble parking close to the house. We would not hesitate to return and hope we can soon!

    Ross2018-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We had such a great stay in Andrews house! Andrew and Christine are brilliant hosts. We were allowed to use everything and they did everything to make our stay in their house as something special. I will keep it in mind for a long time. Especially for my (7 years old) daughter the days in their house was great. Andrew taught her some piano lessons and due to his knowledge of the German language he was able to explain her a lot. Now she wants to learn playing the piano. The room and the house are arranged with love. The location is close to the beach and it is a very quite neighbourhood. I could most warmly recommend this accomodation!

    Thorsten2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Christine made us feel very welcome when we arrived. They are are a lovely couple and easy to have conversations with. Christine showed us where everything was in the house and room and had good information on where to go for dinner in town. Our room was large and comfortable with beautiful furnishings and great internet. Everything was provided that we would need. Lovely bathroom and shower/wet room just across the landing was very nice. Christine laid out cereals, toast, orange juice and coffee for breakfast which was great just before we set off to catch a ferry from Dover. We enjoyed our brief but very comfortable stay with lovely people.

    Yvonne2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Christine were fabulous! There place was warm and welcoming and extremely comfortable, we had our best sleep in 3 weeks there, They had a lot of ideas on what to see and where to go in the area and we can't wait to visit again!!

    Shannon2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate. The room was much larger than I was expecting definitely comfortable for two. Andrew and Christine were so helpful and understanding as I was exhausted after 24hours of travelling from the other side of the world, due to phone issues and reception I communication lacked on my end but they were welcoming all the same. I loved the area walk around to the local pubs for a hearty english meal and you walk past Walmer Castle which as an Australian was sooo cool!! I had a great time and would absolutely recommend for someone looking to get away to the beach.

    Sharon2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • My parter and I only had a very brief stay in this Airbnb but I can say I thought it was very good. We arrived late due to traffic and then had to leave early in the morning to catch the early ferry to Dunkirk, nonetheless, Andrew and Christine were greats hosts and I enjoyed a nice chat with them before going off to the very comfortable bed. I would recommend this house for longer stays than we did as the house is comfortable, the hosts are excellent and I think the area has a lot to offer.

    Tom2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very well located house within close walking distance to Deal castle, the pier as well as ships, pubs and restaurants. The room was small but worked very well for our 1 night stay. We were made very welcome by our hosts. I believe they have larger rooms and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to everyone.

    Jeannie-Marie2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
