Outlet Mall
“Delaware has no sales tax. That's right, absolutely no sales tax. Take the advantages of shopping at an already low-priced outlet mall (there are 3 separate areas), remove the need to cover tax, and add in regular sales and special events, and you'll find yourself walking away with some killer deals.”

“It has fun in the name. What more could you ask for? Funland is an indoor/outdoor amusement park on the boardwalk. There are plenty of rides and amusements, as well as food options. Great for ages 15 and below.”

“The place that started it all... Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats is where Sam Calagione's beer empire began. While the original brewpub was demolished in 2017, it has been rebuilt into a bigger, better facility with live music. IF you can get a table (that's a big IF), definitely try the wood fire pizzas. Bring a growler or two to get filled, or if you don't want to stand in line, go to the retail store outside and get them filled there. They do offer free samples, so be sure to ask. ;-)”

“While it's not actually a beach, if you're looking for water fun, Jungle Jim's is worth checking out. Jim's is a local mainstay and has some incredible water features that beaches don't, like water slides, a lazy river, a kiddie pool and pirate ship. Be sure to look for coupons on their web site.”

National Park
“ Assateague Island. About an hour and 40 minutes away. More than half of Assateague Island National Seashore's 48,000 acres is comprised of near-shore and estuarine waters. The geography of the island itself is in a state of constant flux, continuously being reshaped by the elemental forces of wind and water. Powerful storms can dramatically alter the shoreline in a matter of hours. Other forces sculpt the landscape in less obvious ways. Exposure to salt spray, lack of fresh water, and isolation from the mainland are subtle, but powerful influences on the Island's species composition. Over time, these conditions have produced a community of plants and animals uniquely suited to the extremes found at the edge of the sea. Assateague is famous for its wild horses (descendants of horses that grazed here beginning in the 1600’s). Kayaking, shell-fishing and riding are all options here. ”
