“Walking from Andrassy into Hajos street, there will be a BUTCHER'S on your right hand side under house number 21. Try having a buther's lunch here, it's very Hungarian and yummy. Roast meat and sausages and pickles+bread standing up :-)”

“Going to the market has always been popular but it seems to have become cool as well. We can meet the producers, the products are high quality, and we can snack on some lángos or grilled sausage in-between stalls. Lajos Bíró likes this market atmosphere, Hungarian cuisine and “on-the-go” lunches and has decided to open his own meaty deli: A séf utcája (“The Chef’s Street”), to combine these passions.”

“Séf utcája (The Chef’s Street) is housed in the Downtown Market’s store number 3 in the Gallery section. A 25-year friendship, thousands of meals shared and a good deal of traveling inspired the owner and Lajos Bíró to open this outrageously good place. The result of A Séf utcája is a traditional deli and butcher shop in an authentic environment, where the black pudding is twisted inside out, and the chicken soup comes in a jar. The deli is open from early morning until late at night, awaiting market-goer gourmets who want to try Hungarian street food.”

“Hot spiced wine, bottled wines, coffee, croissant... Fromage is a tiny delicatessen located on Pozsonyi Street, hiding a huge selection of high-quality products. On the shop’s few square meters, we can choose from plenty of cheeses, antipasti, wines, proseccos, spices, and chocolates. The proficiency of the store staff is exemplary; whether we’re looking for the perfect wine to pair with our cheese or vice versa, we can always expect professional help here.”
