  • Guy’s home was a rustic, quirky getaway that was perfect for our small company offsite. He was very communicative and easy to work with.

  • Great spot - stayed here with two other couples and had a great time!

  • Guy was a great host and the space was great! It was nice and open, great for our big group, we had a great experience.

  • Wonderful, unique place. Hospitality was fantastic. Would stay there again.

  • Guy’s place was amazing. Photos match the description. A wonderful fire place, kitchen, pool table, etc. Really beautiful and close to nature. Everything you need to stay inside or venture out.

  • What a wonderful place. Rustic chic at its best. Kent is charming. The Appalachian Trail passes close by, so we got to walk it for a couple of hours. The barn is gorgeous, with guitars and drums and a pool table. Guy helped us with a Christmas tree stand, and we had a cosy family Christmas with six people. Lots of good food cooked in the generous kitchen, and even used the gym a couple of times in the cold. A special place. One note: rooms are unique and private but also have unique doors, so don't offer a lot of sound privacy. Just something to know beforehand.

  • I will stay here again. Great place.

Our perfect escape is just under two hours away and includes everything you need to relax, including: high-speed internet & wifi, speaker system throughout the house, projector, espresso machine, jacuzzi bath, a wood burning fireplace, a hot tub with a priceless view of the Hudson Valley, outdoor firepit and more. Get away from the city without having to spend four hours stuck in traffic! Your temporary haven is also conveniently close to many ski areas and a variety of beautiful hikes.
Relax in our large, cozy home nestled in the woods that we lovingly call ‘The Perch! Just the view alone from our deck and from inside our ample 6-person hot tub in the backyard is worth making the trip. Perfect for larger families or singles/couples that want to stretch their legs, our home has 3 comfortable bedrooms (two equipped with one king size bed each, one with a queen size) on the main floor and the loft. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the other has easy access to the entrance bathroom. Additional sleeping space is available on the basement floor with four twin XL beds that typically act as couches with limited privacy between them and a bathroom nearby, plus an additional 2 queen and 3 twin xl air mattresses to be setup anywhere in the house. All bathrooms are equipped with shampoo, soap, conditioner and towels. During summers, keep cool with our central A/C and rest assured you’ll keep warm during cooler weather with forced air heating plus a backup baseboard heating system (we also have a 20Kw backup generator). Bring some marshmallows or a good book to snuggle in front of our wood burning fireplace in the Great Room, where you can also enjoy records or digital music from Spotify, controlled via an iPad. WiFi enabled speakers are available in two bedrooms, the deck and outdoor area, the living room, and hot tub area (equipped with fresh towels) — you can also ask, "Alexa" or "Computer" to play music in most rooms. For those that prefer analog activities, we've got a bunch of board games and puzzles in the living room, from classics like Monopoly and Settlers of Catan to Kickstarter favorites like Cards Against Humanity. Bookworms can cozy up in our dedicated reading nook with a view, and if you forgot yours, you can borrow one from our small library in the downstairs bedroom/study. Entertainment can be found in our finished basement, including: a pool table, a full band setup (drum set, guitar, bass, keyboard), and a high quality 4K movie projector. There's also a sit/stand desk and a 28" external monitor if you have to take care of any work or need a place to work on your novel. To print something in a pinch, or to lookup that recipe, you can use a Mac Mini in our kitchen connected to a color printer. Chefs, bakers and dinner party enthusiasts will delight in our fully-equipped kitchen that includes: an electric oven and stove top, microwave, dishwasher, and subzero refrigerator/freezer, standing mixer, blender, crock pot, food processor, cappuccino maker, and more. Depending on the season, you can also enjoy the bounty of fresh vegetables and herbs from our outdoor garden during your stay. The deck also has a 3-burner Weber grill for any impromptu BBQ parties. Outdoor sports fans can find footballs, soccer balls, a bike, cornhole set, a bocce set, and various other sports equipment in a guest-accessible shed. We have our very own hike on the property that takes around 30 minutes called the Turkey Trail that can be accessed from the driveway. We do allow dogs for an additional $100 cleaning fee.
Our neighborhood is very quiet. It's residential, but we're on enough land with a long enough driveway for the house to feel very private. We're near a bunch of ski areas, lakes, ponds, hiking trails (including an Appalachian Trail waypoint), and just a hop skip and a jump from Woodstock, the Hudson Valley wine region, etc.
  • Wonderful atmosphere, quaint location, and great amenities. Great for large and small groups. Would book again in a heartbeat

  • The Perch was simply perfect!!!!!! There were more alexa speakers, kitchen cooking gadgets, and activities to do than we could shake a stick at! We will 1000% be staying here again in the near future!

    Seva2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place for groups!

    John2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the perch far exceeded our expectations. We recommend it to everyone. Such a tranquil get away with enough room for a larger group of people, but was very quaint for two.

    Jennifer2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Zach was a great host. He was really communicative about check in and house rules, and anything else I needed answers to the whole stay. The house itself had everything we needed and in a great location. We would definitely recommend.

    Jeff2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bernadette and Zach's home is so beautiful with the wood accents, hill top view, and lofted cabin space. We had a large 10+ group on our trip but everyone was comfortable with the many additional pull out beds and 4 baths. The thoughtful touches like the plethora of books, board games, cooking utensils, and smart home made the trip extra fun and effortless. Lastly there's some great unique amenities like a hot tub, band set, and mini hiking trail!

    Karen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd time staying at the Perch and everything was great. Will definitely be back in the future.

  • We had a lovely winter weekend getaway at Andrea's place. It was very cozy but plenty of space for our family of three (and then some). Andrea leaves the place incredibly well stocked with anything and everything you could need, from good, wine, chocolate and beer to toiletries and first aid. The surroundings are bucolic, very quiet and just what we had in mind for a getaway in the country. Also, all the AV worked perfectly, nice television setup with all the streaming services connected. Great place to get a away for the weekend!

    Arthur2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I greatly enjoyed our stay in Andrea's lovely home. It is close to Beacon, which is a plus, as we were traveling to visit the museum, Dia: Beacon. The location is also perfect for people who want to get away from the city—it's surrounded by trees and has some great nearby parks for strolls. The amenities were amazing. This was by far one of the best Airbnb experiences I have ever had. I hope to return in the near future. :)

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was probably the best airbnb experience I've had! Andrea's home was fantastic. The house itself is a beautiful, 200+ year old building which has been tastefully updated with modern amenities. Communication with Andrea was excellent and we were fortunate enough to be able to say hello in person shortly before we left. The house was extremely clean and Andrea added dozens of little touches to welcome us. Everything from leaving us two bottles of wine to recommendations on things to do in the area. The house is located on a very quiet street, surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of space. This is the ideal place to stay for those looking to escape NYC for a weekend. We definitely hope to return in the future. Thanks, Andrea!

    Ben2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Five stars and then some!! Andrea went above and beyond and provided everything we needed. Great communication and a beauuuutiful old home. Historic much?? Definitely Little Women vibes. Go off Andrea!! 💖

    Kyle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea has an amazing home and is a wonderful host. We loved the charming decorations and all the little personal touches. We could not have chosen a better stay in this area. Everything was very clean and organized. Highly recommended.

    Orlando2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place. I've stayed at a few AirBnBs before, but this place raised the bar! The place was so cute, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Andrea left a nice welcome note and has the place stocked to the top with snacks and sundries that you may forget. After traveling all day, it was nice not to have to get coffee for the morning. While we traveled for a weekend of flea marketing, we could have easily just chilled at the house, WiFi and streaming services are available, but just enjoying the surroundings could have been just as nice. My sister and I are already making plans for going back. This is a perfect place for leaf peepers, a country get away, visits to upstate NY and CT wineries. If you don't like relaxing, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking to get away from it all - make a reservation today!

Our home was built in 1872 and is used to welcoming guests. In the early 1900's it was a bed&breakfast called Cedarhurst Farm. We are situated at the center of Dutchess County, about one and a half hour north of New York City. This puts you within easy reach of many places of interest in all directions. Beautiful rural towns like Rhinebeck, Hudson, New Paltz at the foothills of the mountainous Catskill area and the artist community of Beacon, to name a few.
Two rooms are available on the second floor, both face west. This listing, Cedarhurst 2, is for the smaller of the two. Both are bright and airy, filled with sunlight in the afternoon. In case both rooms are booked, the bathroom on the same floor, will be shared with other guests. We offer a simple breakfast, fresh coffee and a bagel, or similar, to get you ready for the day.
Places we love in our neighborhood... the mile-long Walkway over the Hudson, a refurbished rail bridge that offers a magnificent view of the massive Hudson river. A favorite classic diner in nearby Millbrook. A wonderfully situated restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the Hudson, called the Ice House. The impressive Dia Beacon, a haven for lovers of contemporary art.
  • This place was incredible. Quite a treat for my impromptu travel in the midst of all the CV-19 chaos. The hosts are an amazing couple that left an impression on my heart. I will most definitely book here again and again. If you are looking for extremely clean, quiet surroundings, outstanding decor and hosts from heaven - you would be doing yourself an injustice if you don't book here. Rob and Yoko are simply the best.

  • Nice and quiet very beautiful place thank you.

    Vepa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Rob and Yoko for a magnificent stay. I felt welcomed into the most fascinating warm home throughout my stay. You will NOT meet any other couple like Rob and Yoko. Wonderful people, very knowledgeable and extremely easy to talk to and ask questions. The house is big and sits on a beautiful scenic view of fields and extra land. The walk into the house as you walk up the original wooden steps dates back years ago in out of this world. As you enter the house it’s overwhelming and special. You find yourself eager to ask questions about this warm mansion. The walk up to the room is breathtaking and unique. The rooms are spacious, old but modern at the same time. Old radiator heaters that heat the whole house, the original windows and beams help your stay feel more at home and back in time. The bed was very comfy and if you leave the door agar, you may find Kepa at the bottom of your bed in the middle of the night. Yes that’s their cat. Very cute and easy to talk to 😄. Breakfast is served each morning with extra care and Rob and Yoko are always asking if you need anything else. I’m extremely grateful that I found a place like this but I’m even more grateful that I made 2 wonderful friends for life. Thank you so much for making my stay the most amazing stay I could have wished for. Worth every $. Thank you again. Jamie

  • Upstate NY charm! Very nice, peaceful house with a very calm, minimalist aesthetic. A perfect getaway. Very comfortable, spacious rooms too. The breakfast was great (they prepared fresh fruit and bagels each morning)! Rob & Yoko are very gracious and welcoming hosts. Will be back!

    Peter2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Rob's and Yoko's place for the second time. It felt like visiting an old friend's house. They were so welcoming and warm, and lovely with my lively pup., making sure we were both comfortable. My friends and I occupied both rooms with 3 adults and 3 dogs, one of them a puppy! Yoko and Rob took the commotion with grace which we were extremely grateful for. Besides their generosity and loving care they put into hosting humans and their dogs, the house is just beautiful inside and out with a lot of atmosphere and fun artistic touches from the hands of the owners. No doubt I will be back- hopefully soon! Thank you, Yoko and Rob!

The house sits on a bucolic plot of land with a large pond out back. This is not a fully functioning inn, but a historical home called the “Blue Bird” which operated as an inn after it was built in the early 1800s. The Blue Bird then served as my family’s homestead for decades, for which I am now caretaker.
Two bedrooms and a separate full bath with a private entrance, located on the second floor of a quiet country home. You’ll have a small private porch to enjoy. The green bedroom also overlooks the pond for easy bird watching with morning coffee.
This space is an ideal landing pad for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Located across the road from the Blue Bird is an entrance to a network of hiking trails called the Pawling Nature Reserve, and there is also direct Appalachian Trail access less than a quarter mile away. A day’s hike or less can take you through beautiful farm pasture, a boardwalk across the Great Swamp, and the Cat Rocks which overlook the Harlem Valley. Please message me directly about special accommodations I offer for hikers. The Blue Bird is a short drive into the sleepy village of Pawling, which has a variety of nice restaurants, taverns and shops. Mckinney and Doyle’s is famous for its bakery and restaurant, serving dinner and lunch weekdays, and weekend brunch. Pawling Bread Co. also offers an excellent beakfast/brunch on the weekends. For more casual fare we have great pubs including The Pawling Tavern and O’Conner’s Pub. For pizza and Italian food there is Gaudino's Pizza and Pasta and 3 Guys From the Bronx.
  • I enjoyed my stay at the Blue Bird Inn quite a bit. The apartment was very clean and charming. Checkin was easy. There were great local recommendations available. Dennis was a wonderful, thoughtful host who responded to my messages very quickly.

  • The pictures don’t do justice to this place. The big bedroom is adorable, with beautiful antiques and a LOT of space. There are many thoughtful touches making the guests feel taken care of: sparkling water in the fridge, coffee and tea (including decaf, which I use and never find anywhere!) and products in the bathroom. Check-in was simple, location was great, and Dennis was very responsive. We had all our privacy. I definitely recommend, and I’d love to see this place in the summer and try the hike so maybe we’ll be back!

My home is a 4 bedroom space, where I live with my 2 dogs and some of the time- my kids. It's really close to the W. Dover rd trailhead of the appalachian trail and the quaint village of Pawling NY. Hikers enjoy putting their tent up on my deck and luxuriating in a hot shower, comfortable living room with fireplace, wiFi, washer/dryer and a propane grill on the deck! My home enjoys lots of beautiful natural light, plant food and a zen feel. I don't eat animal products nor drink alcohol or smoke.
It's a quiet residential neighborhood built around 2 pond / lakes. 2 kayaks and bikes for your use.

  • Very nice rooms. Scott is very friendly and helpful and has a lot of tips for trips around Pawling.

    Andreas2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Host, house, and location are all wonderful! Scott is a warm and generous host -- he gave me tips about hikes in the area and made sure I had everything I needed. His dog Rosie is a lovebug and makes the place even more homely. The house itself is clean and well-stocked, and the bed is comfy. Finally, the location is great -- 20min walk from a beautiful section of the AT and a short drive from Pawling (or an hour's walk)

    Naomi2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fantastic stay, my son and i enjoyed very much.

    Hannes2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Drove up to Pawling for a weekend of hiking and wanted a simple, affordable, convenient accommodation. Scott’s home is relaxed, comfortable and he could not be a nicer or more generous host. I’ll definitely book again!

    Wiley2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • As Appalachian Trail hikers Scott was a great host with great tips about town, made sure we were super comfortable in his home. Offered us food and help with transportation. He was fun to chat with and his dinner recommendation was fabulous. If we ever come back to Pawling we would definitely stay again!

    Carly2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great easy stay...will do again

    Gary2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place was exactly what I was looking for. The neighborhood was beautiful. The house was spacious and there was even a nice outdoor space to relax and have breakfast or practice yoga. His suggestions for dining and a local supermarket were helpful. His dogs are sweethearts. He was extremely accomodating; especially with my checking in and checking out. He was truly a kind and thoughtful host.

The Milk House is located in the middle of a working farm in Dutchess County. Depending on when you arrive you might see us heading to market, moving cows to a new pasture, feeding chickens or pigs, taking out the compost or possibly (but not likely) taking the day off. We've got stars in the sky and outside of an occasional exclamation from the rooster, very quiet nights. The closest gas station is less than ten minutes away, but you'll be about twenty minutes away from a shot of espresso.
The cottage is cozy but there's a good chance you'll spend most of your time outside. We have 250 acres of property and views of Ten Mile River. We raise pastured beef, pork, chickens and dozens of varieties of herbs and vegetables, as well as mushrooms and honey. Your backyard overlooks open pastures and the Appalachian Trail is just a ten minute walk from the front door.
Our farm is the perfect place to unwind and unplug but close enough to town to grab a bite or take in a film. We'll send a list of our favorite farm stores, bakeries and restaurants upon booking.
  • Amazing weekend at the milk house! It’s the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. The fireplace was perfect and the bed was super comfortable. You should take advantage of the farm tour; Helga led our tour and it was one of the highlights of our stay. She’s a wealth of knowledge, warm and personable! We will be back.

    Lori2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time at HVH! Alicia's Milk House was so gorgeous, quaint and comfortable. The bed was comfy and the whole house was nice and warm with baseboard heat, even though we came on a cold weekend. The fireplace was such a nice touch; she even sets it up for you so all you have to do is light it! Beautiful view of the farm from the Milk House windows and Helga, the farm apprentice, was so sweet to us and gave us a lovely tour. Alicia gave us great local recs as well. Such a fun, relaxing weekend. Don't hesitate to escape for some reflection and relaxation.

    Melissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Milk House was the perfect getaway from NYC. It was really comfortable for 7 of us. And the nice thing is, the couch is actually made up of two mattresses, so you can crash there too. Alicia was super communicative and helpful when I had questions. She gave us tips of things to check out in the area and looked into local skiing options for us. We didn’t end up skiing because Thunder Ridge (about 20 mins drive) is a really small mountain better for kids and beginners, and Catamount (about an hour drive) felt too far for us for the weekend. But there are a couple of options. The house was so cozy and nicely decorated. We used the fireplace the whole weekend and loved walking around, exploring the grounds and looking at the animals. The little “market” next to the Milk House was great. Cash only. We bought farm fresh eggs (they were beautiful and delicious!) and jams. It was great to eat locally. There is not a ton to do in the area, but that’s exactly what we were looking for. There are a couple of breweries within 30 mins driving distance, if you feel like driving. The staff on site was great. We met two (only got one name — Britta), and they were really helpful with refilling our water and helping us with the trash. Overall, this was a great stay and the perfect getaway from NYC. If you want somewhere quiet to go for a low key weekend within less than 2 hours drive of the city, definitely check out this unique and charming spot. Would definitely go back.

    Ali2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely! Exactly as described. My group felt super comfortable the entire time. Would absolutely return, if not just to see the cows!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alicia is a great host! Super responsive and thoughtful. We stayed here in winter and there was plenty of fire wood to keep us warm all night, and the place is nice and cozy, good for groups. Would definitely recommend / come back in the future!

    Tim2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful rustic place for some much needed unplug from the city life! Will come back again!

    Lisa2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Pretty surroundings, fun for the little ones (2 + 5), and a nice escape from the city.

We loved every minute of our stay! The location is great, the town lovely with good restaurants and a great bookstore. The house feels good for 2 people, but can easily accommodate more. We can highly recommend this beautiful house for a long getaway!

  • Wonderful house. We would love to stay again next year.

    Jean Elizabeth2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the house! Sarah and Jonathan did everything right... the welcome gift basket, the timely communication, the temperature perfect, folded towels on the bed, the binder with information about how the house “works” (AC, heat, what to do when leaving, remotes, etc...) plus visitor information on the area was just above and beyond. Everything was clean, orderly and the attention to detail was impeccable!! We truly and sincerely enjoyed the house and our experience.

    Rachel2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at The Beech House for a girls weekend! A great location, with a quick 3 minute drive to town. Looked forward each morning to grabbing a coffee, frittata & scones at Babette’s and bringing it back home to eat before we headed out each day. The house has amazing views, is very clean, has every amenity you could want, comfortable beds & is beautifully decorated, to make you feel at home.

    Sharyn2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time enjoying the Beech House and somehow it even exceeded our expectations. The house was comfortable and well-appointed. My husband and I kept commenting on how they anticipated guests' possible needs. Sunsets at the house are just spectacular, as well as stargazing at night. And the town of Millbrook is so charming -- just the right mix of enough to do and explore without being too busy. It was the perfect escape from City life, and we hope to return again soon!

    Thomas2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie is definitely a 5-star hostess! Everything was fantastic from start to finish. Communication before and during my stay was great, and she goes out of her way to accommodate and make things comfortable. The cats are all so sweet, but they're not allowed in the guest room or bathroom, so no worries there. She keeps the whole house very clean, and you don't smell the cats AT ALL! I will be a return guest, for sure! Thank you Sophie!! :)

    Kara2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • It has been an absolutely pleasure from the start with Sophie. I’ve made the transition from making a big move from MA to NY and rented the first month nervous about where I would end up and I couldn’t of asked for a better stay. In fact I’ve rented out an additional month and not looking forward to the farewell. I highly recommend your next stay here again Sophie has the biggest heart and so welcoming!

Sharoan left some breakfast items and common cooking essentials like salt/pepper, oil spray, etc. so we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast both mornings we stayed. The cottage brings in a lot of light and has great views of the forest in the back of the cottage which gave the cottage an extra cozy feeling. • We loved our weekend stay at this adorable home. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen, enjoyed the sun-filled breakfast nook and warmed up by the wood stove at night. It has all the charm of an old farmhouse, but is modernized for comfort. We've already talked about coming back when the weather is warmer!

  • A beautiful and wonderfully peaceful home. The hosts were wonderful and responsive.

  • My friends and I had a perfect weekend getaway at this cottage. It had everything we needed to steal away from the city for stargazing, home-cooked meals, and cozy winter nights in front of the fire. Can't recommend it enough! Will definitely be returning for warmer weather as well.

  • Cute cottage. Sparkling clean and convenient for us.

  • A wonderful home with a host of charm and character throughout each and every room. The cottage is a lovely place to get cozy and saddle up by the fire. We were fortunate enough to have snow during our stay, which only added to the fairytale feel. We also took time to explore the Appalachian Trail, some of the local farms, shops, and nearby towns. It was a fantastic all-around weekend. Which also couldn't have been made possibly by Cory. He was so thorough, responsive, and his attention to detail made the entire process so smooth. It almost felt like we actually lived there for a few days. Highly recommend for those looking for a quaint getaway. Thank you, Cory!

Kent, CT is the place to be if you enjoy the outdoors; from hiking, birding, kayaking to fishing. It's also a great place for biking and walking as the scenery is beautiful. There is much to explore including gardens, farms and wineries/distilleries/breweries. This northwest corner of CT in the Litchfield Hills is a magical, laid back area of New England where you will find neighborhood bars, not clubs. Enjoy low key restaurants with gourmet food or cook at home with farm fresh ingredients.
Enjoy beautiful Litchfield County, CT from a well appointed art filled, one bedroom cottage that perches on a hill with sunset views of Hatch Pond. Access is by private road. Open floor plan in the living/dining/kitchen area with new stainless appliances. Very quiet and relaxing decor with large windows and deck looking out to Hatch Pond and wooded areas. Front porch deck overlooking Hatch Pond, shade garden, hammock, stone patio area, parking place for two vehicles, privacy, and four short miles to the town center of Kent. Stone fire place, hardwood floors, indoor dining area, gas grill and table for four on front deck during late spring to late fall. Fire pit on the stone patio. Kent is a four season area. Winter brings both down hill and cross country skiing, spring beautiful gardens, hiking and biking, summer fishing and swimming, and fall beautiful changing of the leaves, mums and pumpkins. Lake View Cottage is near many boarding schools including South Kent school around the corner, fishing, biking, on CT wine trail, Appalachian Trail, near Kent Falls and Bulls Bridge, antiquing on scenic Route 7, swimming in Lake Waramaug, great restaurants and shops in Kent, CT. This is the perfect place if you want quiet and relaxation, to read, sit by the fire or on the deck depending on the season, and just get away from it all. Kent is very low key and casual. If you are looking for night life or craziness this is not the place you want to book.......... Must be okay with cats as two sometimes live here (might or might not be there during your stay).............
Lake View Cottage is located on a private road and is four miles into town.

Designed as an embodiment of Pleasent Valley itself, the guest room features high, sky-colored ceilings accented by elegant decor items. Admire the thoughtful touches found throughout from the artwork and vases to the plush furnishings.
This room is a guest room in our home, but it is set apart from the rest of the house.
Nestled in a wooded, sun-lit area, the home provides ample opportunities for quiet relaxation and contemplation. For a more busy day of activities, Poughkeepsie is a short drive away making both urban and rural easily accessible.
  • Tranquil describes the room perfectly. It isn’t a true private entrance as you go through the side door of the main house to get to the upstairs room, but Pam definitely made it feel special. Fridge and Keurig were a nice bonus.

If you are looking for a room that feels like going to your Mom’s, this place is for you! Please note: this house is quite a drive from Poughkeepsie and can take people off guard, if you’re not used to the upstate wooded areas the locals are. Alas, it made it tranquil and was very quiet. Would stay again!

Our home was built in 1872 and is used to welcoming guests. In the early 1900's it was a bed&breakfast called Cedarhurst Farm. We are situated at the center of Dutchess county, about one and a half hour north of New York City. Our location puts you within easy reach of many places of interest in all directions. Beautiful rural towns like Rhinebeck, Hudson, New Paltz at the foothills of the Catskill mountains and the artist community of Beacon, to name a few.
Two rooms are available, on the second floor, both face west. This listing, Cedarhurst 1 is for the larger of the two. This room has an additional bed, a daybed that is easily transformed into a second bed for a child, it is not really meant for a mature person. Both rooms are bright and airy, filled with sunlight in the afternoon. In case both rooms are booked, the bathroom, on the same floor will be shared with other guests. We offer a simple breakfast, fresh coffee with a bagel, or similar, to get you ready for the day.
Places we love in our neighborhood... the mile long Walkway over the Hudson, a refurbished rail bridge that offers a magnificent view of the massive Hudson river. A favorite classic diner in nearby Millbrook. A wonderfully situated restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the Hudson, called the Ice House. The impressive Dia Beacon, a haven for lovers of contemporary art, set up in particular for large scale works of art.

Appreciated Julia's knowledge of the area and her recommendations of things to do. Did a hike, hit a farmers market, shot some sporting clays. Lovely way to spend the weekend. Easy check in, and Tyler the Tall dog is a bonus.

Her home was lovely, clean and offered all the amenities you may need. She and her dog Tyler were extremely gracious hosts and we would absolutely recommend staying with them for your stay in Millbrook!! Thank you very much Julia!

Only 90 minutes from midtown Manhattan, this Post Ranch Inn-inspired 20 acre property is close to farm-to-table restaurants, polo, horseback riding, antique stores, hiking, cycling, canoeing, apple-picking, winery visits, swimming holes, waterfalls, bookstores etc. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the comfy bed, the light, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers.
  • We had a gorgeous stay at Andrews place. Truly a gem in nature. Communication and checking was smooth and easy before and during our stay. The house itself is spacious and stylish with a comfortable double bed and lovely bathroom. The kitchen is rather small and basic but when asked for a kettle they kindly provided one with delicious teas from the local tea shop. We enjoyed the tips for hiking and restaurants. Def recommend the place and all the surroundings provide.

  • This was our second stay at this place and we'll be back, It's super awesome for a romantic weekend or even a week for a couple or individual. Doesn't really work outside that given the bathroom layout (open to the main room.) Amazing space though, super clean, gorgeous contemporary design, with many great touches. You can cook there if you're committed but the kitchen is small, though functional and very well appointed. Overall, one of our favorite romantic getaways.

Cozy home nestled in a beautiful valley provides you with the perfect Hudson Valley country escape. Gorgeous stream views and loads of amenities make this rental the ideal getaway for your family and friends.
Formerly operating as dairy farm through the 1950's, the property extended across the road where the original farmhouse remains today. In the 1970's the property became the country residence of husband & wife actors Ben Gazzara and Janice Rule. After the property changed hands a few times and it was purchased in 2000 as a home of the current owners. An addition of a sun-filled living room was added. The country kitchen is stocked with dishware, appliances and a second living area has a Roku-enabled television and full-size dining table. The master bedroom offers views of the hills, stream and starry nights. A first-floor bedroom provides garden & stream views with handicap-friendly bathroom. A nature lovers paradise, the 7-acre property enjoys the benefits of being in a valley where both sun and water are abundant allowing for a diverse mix of plant and animal life. Yellow finches, wild turkey, blue heron, hummingbirds & deer are common to the backyard. An expansive backyard and field for all sorts of outdoor activities. Ample space for badminton, frisbee or a game of catch.
The house is located on a paved country road in a semi-rural environment. The 2018 film "A Quiet Place" featuring Emily Blunt and Jim Krasinski was filmed on the property down the road. The home is within walking distance to a seasonal farm stand and the Appalachian Trail. There is a separately rented cottage on the property that is occupied. There is one house across the street.

Colorful, sunlit bedroom in my private home for women or couple only. Cozy country cottage, extensive gardens. Share kitchen, bath and living spaces with owner. Near S. Kent School, 3 -1/2 miles from center of Kent, 4 miles to Appalachian Trail, in scenic rural Litchfield County.
People love my funny little house and I love it too. It's a 1946 lake cottage with lots of character, being lovingly renovated and with great views. The cheerful, clean and airy guest room has views in three directions - up the mountain into my gardens, out to the lake and through an old apple tree. It is uncluttered and colorful, with a good reading lamp, computer desk and empty bureau. The bed can function as a king-sized or as one or two singles - It has a roll-out lower trundle that can be raised to the same level as the upper mattress (and made up as one, with lovely soft sheets). Or it can be configured as two twins, either at the same level, or if one is left at the lower setting, it can be tucked away for more floor space during the day. Beds can be positioned side-by-side or rolled apart - Please let me know how you would like beds arranged. The bath is shared - it's a one bathroom house. Everything here is pretty much organic/no artificial anything, so you won't be assaulted with room fresheners, scented sheets or icky chemical cleaners. New mattress covers, pads, sheets, blankets and quilt cover the beds, which guests report are quite comfortable. There is great cellphone service in this neighborhood - not always the case in this mountainous area. During the week and in the off-season, one-night stays are fine. Peak-season summer and fall foliage weekends have a 2 night minimum, unless there is a last-minute vacancy or blocked days. Please note that this is not a hotel or commercial bed and breakfast, it is my home. I appreciate guests who fill out their profile and tell me something about themselves before asking to book the room . Do not turn into a driveway even if your phone tells you "you have arrived" unless you see the signpost and railing in the listing photos.
This is the country and there is no public transportation. It is just plain beautiful here - woods and water, mountains reflected in the lake, quiet and dark at night. It's not fancy or pretentious or overdeveloped, just nice. The historic Bull's Bridge, one of the few still-operating covered bridges in the state, is around the corner and is a sight to see when the waters are rushing by. Kent is full of permanently protected open space and it's a short drive to access to miles and miles of hiking trails from easy to challenging. It is dark and quiet here at night. Kent Falls and Lake Waramaug are nearby along with art galleries, antiquing opportunities and great restaurants.

  • My husband and I loved our stay here in Karen’s cozy cottage in a quiet neighborhood. It is set back off a beautiful road across from a huge pond and located just minutes from beautiful downtown Kent! Small home but a very pleasant stay! Karen is a warm and a thoughtful host. She was very prompt with her correspondence and greeted us when we arrived. Karen made herself available to get to know us, and graciously opened her kitchen to us for breakfast. She always had great suggestions of where to eat and what to see in the area. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Karen! <3

Open the local wine provided and stretch out on the blue sectional sofa in the sunny living room. The fun and stylish decor is a modern interpretation of the area’s agricultural roots, with wood floors and exposed-brick accents in the loft bedroom.
Walk to restaurants and cafes in the center of town, and catch a new release at the drive-in movie theater. Explore the vineyards and go hiking and biking in the local area. Explore further afield from Metro North train station, only minutes away.

  • Wheelhaus was perfect for 3 couples and a baby. We enjoyed ringing in 2020 here! Would definitely recommend or book again.

  • Kurt was very friendly from reservation through check out. He always responded as soon as I asked him questions. The house is exactly same as it is described. Such a lovely and cozy house! There were many decorations and props that are stylish and artistic. Kitchen was spacious for us to cook and prepare. All the rooms are spacious and super clean. The second floor (attic-ish) has a room with bathroom which was extra cozy and unique. Overall, it was such a nice place to stay with friends and we all felt very warm and safe throughout our stay. Thank you!

Welcome! Our two bedroom stone house overlooks two mesmerizing waterfalls, cascading into a private swimming hole. This early Huguenot style home was a labor of love. The peaceful surroundings inspired us to create a home that was humbled by the pristine beauty of the natural landscape. A great place to unplug ... and connect to nature. We’re located a short drive to many historic Hudson Valley attractions.
  • The pictures are beautiful, but the house is even more spectacular in person. The house is wonderful and warmly decorated, the kitchen well stocked and the fireplace ready for a cozy fire. The waterfall is even larger in person and the view is spectacular. Bobby and Melissa were quick in their responses. We will be visiting again!

    Sarah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and clean space with so much to offer! Will definitely return.

    David2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay and once again it was terrific. Bobby and Melissa make it so easy to arrive and relax knowing the house is well stocked with everything you need for a quick stay in their lovely home.

    Kristi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect. Super cozy with wood perfectly prepped in the fireplace for a roaring fire. The waterfall setting was breathtaking and way more spectacular than I expected. Bobby and Melissa were great hosts and very kind with flowers and wine for the Valentine's Day weekend. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This place is magical! It’s so beautiful and immaculately clean. The cottage is quite a piece of artwork in itself. From the tile work, and the vintage art pieces in the house. It has such great energy about it as well. My family stayed for a weekend to get away from the city and it was awesome. We got stuck in the snowstorm and our car wouldn’t function, but the experience was still very magical since Melissa and Bobby really packed the pantry with food for us. There was tea, coffee and snacks for us to enjoy in the snowstorm. The beds were super comfy. We enjoyed staying in their home and just watching tv while the wood burning fire place was on. Melissa and Bobby both made sure there was wood for us to use in the fireplace. The best staycation we ever had.

  • A beautiful house in a splendid setting.

    Nick2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Bobby & Melissa's place was even better than we expected. The location is so peaceful - the home is tucked away and situated next to a gorgeous waterfall. A group of 6 of us looking to escape NYC enjoyed a cozy weekend cooking in the kitchen and playing games around the fire. I would 10/10 recommend their place for an upstate weekend getaway. Thanks Bobby & Melissa!

  • Bobby and Melissa were great hosts and very accommodating. The home is truly a unique experience and the location is one of a kind - perfect for a weekend getaway to unplug. The energy of the house is warm, welcoming and we wish our stay could have been longer. When we weren’t enjoying the fire pit and outdoor space, the dining room was our next favorite. The tall windows that allowed the sunlight to fill the space was beautiful. The attention to detail was impeccable. Thank you Bobby and Melissa for a beautiful weekend!

  • Dawn made myself and my family feel at home at a quite stressful time during our month long wait towards our home closing. The location was perfectly close enough to keep us running smoothly and her hospitality made our stay feel welcomed and as cozy as our own home. Dawn was very communicative and the property is quite spacious and amazingly lovely. With a pool, hot tub, enormous yard and lovely, manicured grounds, there is nothing else we could have asked for. Thank you Dawn for making this transition a smooth one!!!

  • I absolutely loved my long-term, 10 week, stay with Dawn! Dawn was such an excellent host. Incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. She did above and beyond such as introducing me to the owner of the local bakery and inviting me to visit Sylvan lake. She’s takes very good care of her guests! The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. The pool, hot tub, and grounds are always well maintained. The apartment is very spacious, clean, private, and well equipped. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

The Wandering Peacock is a lovely property, decorated in an eclectic artistic style. Nestled within the forest foot hills of the Appalachia trails this converted barn is minutes away from downtown Kent and just walking distance from Bulls Bridge, local river, waterfalls and the Appalachian trail. The Wandering Peacock is the perfect New England get away.
The converted barn has kept its rustic feel while possessing all the comfort of a modern house. Two master bedrooms, with showers and baths, a partial bedroom downstairs, a full size kitchen and dinning room, a dance studio with full mirrors to use. The owners are artist and world travelers. Unique stained glass decorates much of the windows and lamps in the house. There are also oddities from around the world used as decoration. The grounds are private with gardens and a fire pit area to use. There is an open view of the river and Native American Indian reservation that is breath taking. And Bulls Bridge and the AP trail are walking distance from the property. There are 2 peacocks in backyard, they are living in a coop, so you can enjoy the company of this delightful birds. There are also seasonal berries, fruit ad vegetables to pick on the property. The house is only minutes away from Kent Village, and some of the best nature in new England; Kent Falls, Dover Stone Church and Bulls Bridge. Many farms are selling local products around, you can find fresh eggs, organic veggies and meet, honey, Dairy product and so on, everything localy produce with passion by local farmers.
Kent is a lovely town, with great places to eat, shopping, amazing nature, art galleries and more. Few lakes are the perfect place to swim or chill on the beach, if you like kayaking, rivers are offering o lot of good spot. There are a bunch of vineyards around where you can enjoy a tasting time of local wine in charming places. This area is definetly romantic but also a good gateway for athletic people who are looking for nature experience.
  • The Wandering Peacock is exactly as advertised. A cute restored barn curated for an Creative's escape. Theres tons and tons to look at from books about culture and art, to all the antique art on display. The stained glass touches through out the house are GORGEOUS especially on a beautiful sunny day. I do have to note that I believe spiritually that the barn is haunted. Weather that be ghosts of past animals or ghosts of old farmer, My girlfriend and I did feel spooked at night. But it's easy to get past during the day time. In the back there are two friendly peacocks who are so beautiful in person. Im glad they were friendly and even gave us a tail show! My only regret is the weather wast more beautiful. I was hoping for a lot of snow to feel all cozy, but the sunlight was great. I look forward to trying to return during the summer, where I could enjoy the property to its full potential.
