  • Very cozy tiny home in a beautiful spot! Right on a river with brown trout- we fished all evening. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Frankie greeted us when we drove in and showed us the way to the tiny house. We were treated to an awesome display of lightning and thunder that evening that we watched from the covered front porch. The tiny home was cozy and comfortable in the middle of the storm. Frankie was very friendly and accomodating and my wife and I enjoyed our stay. Thanks Frankie!

  • Beautiful mountain high desert, with a brown trout river as a back drop which washes away all the stress of a hectic work style. Young and mature, you will enjoy the atmosphere of fresh clean air.

  • We had a great time escaping the city for a couple of days. The tiny house was the perfect size for my husband, me, my daughter, and our 2 small dogs. My daughter really enjoyed the loft and especially liked picking apricots on our way out! Great hospitality, we learned a lot about the area. Would definitely recommend!

This is an easy access COZY LOG CABIN nestled in North America's largest pinyon pine forest. Near to State Highway 40 and situated on 27 private acres there is access to my horses, nearby trout fishing, and 15 minutes to the Uinta and Ashley national forests. Convenience store, cafe, and gas station located about 3 miles away. Some of the best Trout fishing in Utah, and North America for that matter!Rainbow, Lake, German Brown, and Cutthroat Trout are all native to the three rivers that surround
This is a HORSE friendly property!... I have an extra bedroom for rent that goes for double occupancy, first come. I have a Sioux tipi that is wonderful to stay in and i will give you access to the bathroom of course. Roughing it, but the best! Sleep wonderfully but allow for weather and expect mother nature at every hour.
very remote area with no direct neighbors. Dirt road access. We can accommodate any large vehicles, RVs, Boats, etc. as there is plenty of space for parking. The road is easily identifiable but typically much easier with a high clearance vehicle...
  • Great place to get away for the weekend.

  • Ed is a great guy with a really cool place! We showed up late in the evening old and tired and he had everything ready with a fire roaring to warm us up. His place is affordable and the bed was very comfortable. Thanks Edward!

  • We had a great time staying at Edward’s place! Edward is a great guy and very friendly! If you’re an animal lover like us you’ll love his cat and his horses. My teenage daughter and her friend loved playing pool in his pool room as well. We would come back and stay at his place again in an instant!

    Jeff2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • That ranch is a unique place! The room is comfy and the view from the balcony is stunning. Ed is a people person and has lots of stories, it was great to meet him and his horses. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had some difficulties to locate the place, but Ed was really helpful and guided us over the phone.

The cabin is a very serene place to recharge. It has one of the best views in the area. If you like relaxing, fishing or four-wheeling there's something for everyone in this area. Strawberry reservoir is approximately 15 minutes, Red Creek is 5 minutes and Starvation is about 15 minutes.
Close to Strawberry reservoir approximately 15-20 minutes, Starvation approximately 15 minutes, and Red Creek is 5 minutes from the cabin.
  • Awesome place would definitely go again

  • We loved our stay at Duke Ranch! Cindy quickly confirmed same day booking. The self clean no cleaning fee is a nice touch as we usually fully clean any Airbnb we stay at anyway out of respect for the owner so not having to pay a large fee was nice. As the sign in the cabin says the way you leave it Is the way the next guest will find it so guest before us did a great job cleaning . GPS showed we arrive about 1/2 before the actual cabin but Cindy has up signs that we were easily able to navigate the rest of the way. We found a neighbors dog while up there and he filled the porch with fire wood as a thank you for keeping her safe. Small town living at its best. We will be back

    Nathan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time a Duke Ranch! The views from the back porch were gorgeous! The wood-burning stove kept the place nice and toasty. Appreciated the amenities of the regular coffee maker, ice cube trays, variety of kitchen knives, pot/pans, plates, bowls and cups. There is a small general store a few minutes from the cabin on the main highway, if you forget anything. We would definitely recommend this place to others and plan to book again in the future!

    Lacie2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy’s cabin has a great location to be all to yourself. We loved the environment at the cabin. Wood burning stove makes it real cozy. People before us kept the cabin clean for us to use for the weekend. Cindy was really quick to my questions. Staying there in the winter was really fun. I’m sure staying in the summer would be just as cool. We can’t wait to try that. Price is a good deal. It’s nice to not have the cleaning fee and to do it yourself.

    J Spencer2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is kept very clean and spacious. Clean up is quick and easy!

    Logan2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I celebrated my birthday here, and we had a great time! The views were gorgeous and the place was even better than we expected! I think we will definitely be coming back in the summer!

This is a fabulous Sioux tipi that I personally lived in for 15 months as I built my ranch house.Tough livin-there is a bed and a fire...but the best sleeping you may ever have. The most peaceful find, and so inspirational to wake to birds and nature, instead of everyday city life.A change of pace.Imagine how people lived as they first came to this rugged country.Ever amazed at the strength reliability and ingenuity of this original primitive shelter.A must. What? You've NEVER slept in a tipi!?!!?
This is a Tipi!! You will be camping out and will enjoy all that Mother Nature may have to offer here in Utah. You need all your camping supplies and equipment just as if you were at any campground really. There is some wood around that is on the ground for small fires but you will collect that for yourself. This is camping. I have plenty of good camping gear that I will lend out with prior arrangement and for a small additional charge... You can share the space of the living room area in the main house which has a desk and a television. Electricity at least! You may use the kitchen. We all do, so everyone is expected to use and clean for themselves. You may use the refrigerator. There is a single bathroom with a tub and shower. For everyone. But it is nice and clean and hot water is great with great pressure. Basics, not lovely, but certainly clean and usable.
Between rivers mountains and lakes. The trout are as big as volkswagens!
  • Most AMAZING experience. This has to be a once in a lifetime experience I will remember for the rest of my life. This is camping, but maybe the most amazing way. Edward is a great host and very knowledge on the area & has some amazing stories to tell! I definitely will be back for a longer trip! I brought along my dog Lucy and she absolutely loved how much space she had to run and play. Another great thing is we were only about 20-30 mins from strawberry and got to go play in the lake with the pups! Would give it ten stars if I could!

    Aubrey2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time staying in the tipi. Edward was a great host! I’ll definitely be back to stay again!

    Joni2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Teepee was great! It is located on a hill with plenty of juniper trees and areas to explore. We felt like we were all alone in the wilderness and centuries in the past. It is rustic. So bring your camping gear. There is a bit of a walk to get to the cabin which is cozy and Edward is a fantastic host with plenty of great stories and beautiful horses.

    Rod2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Me and my son stayed in this teepee and both really enjoyed it very much.

    Corby2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • I was driving from the Northwest to Denver and needed a simple place to stay the night. This teepee was an amazing way to get a feeling for the high desert of Eastern Utah, and so much better than staying in some standard house in SLC. In June the teepee was a great temperature, and Edward loaned me the use of his sleeping bag for a very small fee. Arriving was only a little tricky on the dirt roads, and Edward texted/called to help me find my way. I would recommend that everyone make sure to arrive before nightfall, in part because it will make navigating possible and also because the sunset was very beautiful. There was a bathroom to use in the house, as well as fire pits outside and inside the teepee. A couple mattresses made my stay very comfortable. I was offered an extra jug of water for the night, which was thoughtful. The highlight was getting to meet Edward's two lovely horses, one of whom is a mustang, and walking them over to their pen through the brush. Definitely wear closed-toed shoes since there are some cute little cacti scattered around. If you want a friendly, low-key peek at a rancher's life in some of the most beautiful country ever then you should stay here. True Americana.

  • I booked the Tipi for my husband's birthday and it was an absolute adventure! We loved falling asleep while the fire was still running. The whole experience was so raw. Edward is an absolutely amazing person and was very hospitable. We will definitely go back again. Such a gem in Utah! Also, if you visit there, make sure to go to Hanna and try the diner there :) locals are the best there!

    Rose2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Tipi is such a hidden gem! As some of the other reviews noted, it's definitely a camping situation. Make sure to bring proper equipment (ie. warm sleeping bag, fire wood, etc.) or ask in advance to rent from Edward. He is a phenomenal host--very friendly, helpful and accommodating! I unfortunately didn't get to meet him, but he coached me through check in over the phone and was lovely. I really hope I get to return and stay again on my way back to CA. If you like being outdoors and don't mind camping, this is a great, fun place to stay! The cat, Oliver, and the horses are nice too :)

    Katie2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Go to the tipi! We loved our stay at Edward's ranch. It is remote and peaceful, the landscape is stunning, the tipi is majestic. You can tell immediately upon arriving that Edward has put a lot of love and care into the ranch. He is also a very friendly and helpful host; you will feel right at home. We will be back and highly recommend to others looking for a unique experience off the beaten path.

A spacious country ranch on 10 acres of property. An excellent place to escape to for a few days/weeks. Great for couples, families, or just a good outdoor adventure. Tons of dirt roads and trails for ATV riding in the summer or firing up snowmobiles in the winter. There is a cozy kitchen and warm fireplace to relax by after a day of playing outside, and a 360 degree porch for drinking a cold beverage after boating at the nearby Starvation reservoir. Stars like you wouldn't believe at night.
The cabin has a fun upstairs loft where often times the kids usually find themselves jumping to mattresses below. The family room/main living space has a nice couch, TV (complete with DVD/VCR and your favorite family classics), wood-burning fireplace, fully furnished kitchen and tables. There is a single bathroom for the cabin with a shower/tub/toilet. Two large bedrooms are also in the cabin each with comfortable King sized beds and dressers. There are 5 doors in the cabin (from every room) that lead to the 360 degree wrap around porch which is the most incredible place in the world at night because you can see every star in the galaxy. In the summer I'd suggest sleeping outside instead of the beds! The property is a ton of fun for the family -- ATVs/ dune buggies/ dirt bikes/ snow mobiles/ snow surfing -- you name it!!! During the summer you can hunt for little lizards and horny toads which aren't hard to find. If you listen hard enough some nights you can hear drums from the Indian reservation which is miles away but the seclusion of the cabin makes it hearable. While you're outside have a huge bonfire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows and enjoy simple country living. The small town of Duchesne is about 3 miles away with a few nice restaurants and Al's food store, the local grocery store. I guarantee this is the greatest home-away-from-home vacation you'll take!
There are neighbors but the cabins are very spaced out. This is a very remote area with about a billion stars to be seen at night. There is access to a gas station/food store/ and few restaurants in town. I'd suggest bringing a bunch of delicious steaks and grilling up outside on the porch for a good family-style meal!
  • Fun winter get away!

    Sarah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for visiting Starvation Reservoir or other outdoor recreation in the area. The driveway is perfect for pulling a boat through, and the cabin has a fully stocked kitchen. Perfect for a fishing adventure!

    Jessica2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway we had an amazing time at the cabin. We even got to see some wildlife while relaxing on the porch.

    Jerry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fun family cabin. This cabinet set an a large dry metal set apart from other cabins in the area. It is made of roughhewn lumber with a porch that surrounds the whole place. The porch is a fun race track for three-year-olds on the coaster Bike and their grandpa. The kitchen is well-stocked. There are three window air conditioners.. The ladder to the loft is a temptation for the young kids. The barbecue works well. We enjoyed following wildlife: immature golden eagle, black chain bird, Western Blue bird. Horned lark We also saw what looked like prairie dogs giving warning calls when the Eagle flew over. The neighbors dog wandered over to welcome us.

Conveniently located to Red Creek Reservoir, Strawberry Reservoir and Starvation Reservoir. Bring your ATV's or UTV's and explore the trails, hike, kayak, canoe, boat and fish! This is a wonderful getaway to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. My favorite place is the upper deck where I can relax in the hammock swing and enjoy the views.

  • Destiny was a great host. We enjoyed our stay.

    Ben2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Destiny was very helpful and responded very quickly. The cabin is secluded but has WiFi, HDMI, Etc. We had a perfect relaxing weekend! One thing of note is that none of the bedrooms had doors, which was fine for us! We liked the open floorplan. But a lack of privacy may be an issue for some groups with kids.

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • reat cabin to come back to after a day of ice fishing. Equipped with everything you need. Its a cabin; not everything is going to be perfect and flawless, but it’s priced right, and in a great spot to get away from the metropolitan grind. Thanks for letting us stay in your cabin!

  • Spacious and cozy and wonderful outdoor spaces. Full of character and fantastically clean! Plenty of extra blankets, pillows and towels and the large family table is perfect for gathering. The silence and views are absolutely fantastic and the few neighbors we did run into on the road were friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would do so again!

  • Super cozy, we enjoyed our time there!

    Alessia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location is peaceful, beautiful and exactly what we hoped it would be. We booked this location to have a relaxing holiday and it surpassed our execrations. Our son had a ton of space to play outside in the snow and my wife felt comfortable and welcomed. The host was incredible. She was so responsive answering our questions to help us maximize our experience and was incredibly gracious and extremely accommodating. She went as far as offering to get us groceries given our late arrival into Salt Lake. The cabin was updated and extremely clean. It has all the modern amenities including WiFi, TV, Bluetooth speakers, plush carpet and extremely comfortable towels. We cannot say enough great things about this place and look forward to coming back soon.

    Chet2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We spent Thanksgiving weekend at Destiny's cabin and enjoyed every minute! It was the perfect cozy place to hunker down in a blizzard and enjoy a delicious feast! The cabin was super tidy, adorably decorated and stocked with all the basic necessities. Beds were comfy, soft and warm. Destiny quickly responded to any questions we had. We would recommend this cute cabin with amazing views anytime of year!

Tabiona may be the last best-kept secret in the Wasatch/Uinta area and we want to let you in on it! Grandpa’s cabin is a little piece of nostalgia right out of your childhood vacations to the Uintas with— fishing, off-roading, hiking, and s’mores at your finger tips. The cabin is convenient to highways 35 and 40 for motorcycle enthusiasts wanting a place to overnight.
Grandpa’s place is a little slice of nostalgia right out of 1983. They could film a season of Stranger Things here. The dishes, books, board games, and movies are all throwbacks you’ll have fun remembering or showing to your kids. The cabin sits at the doorstep of Ashley National Forest and Uinta-Cache National Forest where you’ll find miles of off-road trails, excellent fly fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. We’re located up on the hillside where you’ll enjoy cool mountain breezes, visits from wildlife, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Tabiona is about 23 miles from Duschene where you’ll find the nearest proper grocery store. Tabiona itself has a post office and a small convenience store with irregular hours. We recommend you bring the bulk of your groceries with you. We provide spices, cooking oil, paper towels, and other little things like that. The small neighboring town of Hanna also has a little convenience store and two gas pumps. Starting after September first, snow and rain is probable and muddy roads can be a problem. **We strongly recommend 4-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive if you book with us as we live on an unplowed dirt road.** The neighbors lightly maintain it, but it does not receive municipal plowing/salting. There is on-site parking for three small vehicles or two large vehicles and a small ATV trailer.
The cabin is part of the Mt. Tabby Springs community. Most of the homes are summer-only residences with a handful of hardcore year-rounders (the snow levels can be intense). Our cul de sac has one full-time neighbor and two other houses that are rarely occupied. Most of the community has unpaved dirt roads. The community maintains them minimally, but they do not receive plowing/salting in the winter. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet. It’s a perfect place to find solitude, unplug, and connect with nature and loved ones. The area is densely treed with pinion pines, juniper, and scrub oak. The town of Tabiona has a population of about 200 and the main industry is agriculture with beautiful pastoral views.
  • Comfortable cabin with a great view!

  • This was exactly what we were looking for. Curtis and Christine were great hosts who were quick to communicate and do everything to make our stay more enjoyable. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in need of a place in the area. Highly recommend.

    Jeff2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We came back again! And it was just as wonderful as the first time. This time we brought my family from Georgia with us, too! They’re used to the beauty and hospitality of Appalachia, and couldn’t believe that Curtis and Christine’s place offered such a home away from home. There were freshly picked apples and tomatoes, too, along with a handwritten note. They are very caring and everything you could ever need is there. This place will be a tradition, indeed :)

    Ali2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was spectacular, the view is remarkable and the mountain trails up behind the cabin are fun and beautiful! Clean, roomy and lots of things to do, love the retro items that take you back in time. Thank you

    Wendy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at the cabin. It was a great way to unplug and enjoy nature. We hiked quite a bit and found great trailheads within a 30-60 minute radius of the cabin. The kitchen is very well equipped and we opted for cooking each meal. There are two places to eat somewhat nearby- pizza joint and local tavern. The tap water is excellent and perfectly drinkable. The view off the porch is fantastic! A great place to enjoy a coffee at sunrise and a beer at sunset. Fantastic hosts, very responsive and helpful when it comes to recommendations.

    Alexis2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • I’m *literally* already looking at the availability of Curtis and Christine’s place to plan our next visit. It was pure perfection. Everything my family needed was there. Super clean and a blast from the 80’s past in such a good way! It’s such a great value for such a fun place and stunning view. They are also super thoughtful!

    Ali2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our group really enjoyed the stay at Grandpas Cabin. The location is wonderful and in a convenient place for travelers like us looking to stay outside of major cities. Curtis and Christine were very friendly to our group and excellent hosts!

  • Fantastic place to stay and enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and the stars at night. Curtis and Christine were fantastic hosts. Any questions were answered quickly . Grandpa's cabin is clean and a great place to unwind after a long day of hiking or 4 wheeling.

  • This place was a great place to stay. It was very clean. There is a TV and Xbox there is no internet or cable. The road can get noisey at times there are lots of bugs up here but that is to expect in the mountains. Driveway is difficult to see at night. Overall it was a very peaceful stay. This all wood home sits on 2.5 acres of land up on the bench in Duchesne, Utah. If you want to get away from it all this is the place. Very quiet and off the beaten path. Town is approximately 5 miles away for pretty much all your needs. Very peaceful location and wildlife is known to wander the property mostly jack rabbits and antelope.
Nice log cabin close to strawberry reservoir, duchesne and strawberry rivers. Hike around the developments dirt roads to explore the area.
This is a rather large development known as Utah Mini Ranches. All lots are a minimum of 2.5 acres most of which have not been developed so there is a lot of open space around you
  • By far the best cabin in Utah It is an amazing place, Ryan was always looking after us, great service and we were delighted.

    Jonelle2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Ryan's cabin! It's spacious and fully stocked, and our family of 5 was very comfortable. The kids rode their bikes all around the area, great kitchen and grill for cooking, lots of great movies and games, super close to fishing, boating, swimming areas, amazing stargazing. Ryan was a great host and easy to get in touch with.

  • This cabin has everything you need for any kind of stay. There was plenty of room, awesome location, clean and organized inside and out. Lots of games and movies for a night in. Every amenity has been thought of. Very clear communication and detailed instructions.

  • Beautiful cabin, antelope out in the morning, and very comfortable furnishings. A little warm during the day in the summer, but totally refreshing breeze out of the west. Beautiful sunsets renews the soul and renews the spirit.

This is the cabin that has it all. At 5500+ sq feet you'll have space for everyone and something for everyone to do. Stay in comfort, bring your atv/utv or other toys and ride right from the cabin! Inside the decor is upscale rustic and includes a pool table and ping pong too! Beautiful views, convenient access (plowed in winter) and close to two lakes for winter ice fishing, or summer boating and fishing! Our family loves spending time together at this cabin and we hope you will too!
Huge cabin, great for family/work retreats and get togethers! **Working on getting photos of all rooms added**
There are neighbors but they are far enough away that you will never hear or see them.
  • Gorgeous cabin, well stocked for guests. We had a wonderful time!

Lovely home with nice furnishings and decor, plenty of beds and bathrooms, a kids nook/play area, great entertaining space and beautiful views. The hosts had even put up a big, beautiful Christmas tree! It was the perfect place to meet up with family to celebrate the holiday.

  • This place is beautiful---even better than the pictures, if that is possible. The place is perfect for big groups with lots of common areas with plenty of space for gathering yet enough space to feel you have a private retreat at your fingertips! Just great!

    Lynda2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here with 11 adults and 6 kids under 4. They play room upstairs was a hit as well as the fire pit. We went on many rzr rides straight from the cabin! Dustin and Stacia even provided a little s’mores kit. We would highly recommend this as a big family get away

Right off the property there is fly fishing on the Strawberry River and a surplus of ATV trails to make your adventure complete. The cabin is located close to both Strawberry and Starvation Reservoirs where boating, fishing and water-sports are easily available. This cabin is very easy to use in the winter, the road to the cabin is always plowed with plenty of parking, four-wheel drive is not necessary.

  • Shady Acres was truly magical. The Modern Rustic design is done to perfection. There are so many extras that are pure fun or functional. Hanging racks next to the wood stove to dry out wet gloves or hats. The furnishings are top shelf. Andrew was immediately reachable for any questions. We truly felt at home. Some favorites were:Christmas tree, books, claw foot tub, kids room- table & tv, outdoor patio/gas bbq, treehouse, large lot-14 acres, wood under fireplace, storage cubbies by door, etc, etc. We plan on returning ASAP Best Air B & B ever!!

  • Awesome place!

    Kiona2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cute and functional. There is plenty of space to sleep and two bathrooms with showers. It will be tight if you max it out with adults only but throw some kids in the mix and you will love it. Be aware that the fridge is a mini fridge, the oven is a toaster oven and the stove top is a two burner hotplate. There are many dishes to use but not a lot of silverware so we used disposable. The host will quickly respond if you need help. You will not find anything else nearby at this price with this much space and beds. For a cabin, it is very nice. Built to match all the neighbors and rustic yet with modern amenities. There is forced air heat and air conditioning too. We fully desire to go back. Being from out of state, we recognize there is much to explore in Utah and we only touched the surface.

Location! 54miles from Park City, Utah. How many cabins can boast that they are in a National Forest? Located in Ashley National Forest. Sleeps 14, 4 bed, 2.5 baths. Our family has owned the land the cabin was built on since 2003. We fell in love with the area and the mesmerizing beauty at every direction you look. All of these years we used the land to camp on as we waited for the right time to build. 2017-2018 our dreams came true. Our open living house plan is well thought out so that your family can interact from all living spaces. The cabin also rests at the perfect angle on the property so you have views from every window and 1500 sq. ft. of decking. The cabin was built for family fun and togetherness. It also makes a wonderful romantic destination too. We now have a horse corral, small lawn area, picnic table deck, and cement patio that was added in 2019.
Located in Ashley National Forest and in the most beautiful valley, North Fork. Its so beautiful in this valley that there are 3 camp grounds, many trail heads, access to high mountain lakes, River for fishing and tubbing, rock cliffs and caves, and a lot of wildlife. it is amazing! The cabin is on 3 acres with 7 other 3 acre cabin lots. Do not go on other cabin lots and be mindful where your kids are. you have our 3 acres and the whole national forest to explore.

Be sure to check out the board/map on the wall. Easy to read for fun hikes and activities. We stayed 3 days, but we wished we had more time. Loved our stay and hope go back soon!

  • We stayed at Rich’s place to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have picked a more ideal place! Our group ranged from 3 years old to 77! Rich and Julie are great communicators and very accommodating. The home is absolutely beautiful and comfortable with so many thoughtful touches and things to do! They have a board with directions to so many different places in the area, we could have stayed for two weeks! Well done Rich and Julie! We loved it.

  • Lightening Ridge Ranch in Hanna, Utah is a little slice of Heaven. A gorgeous home in some of the most beautiful surroundings I’ve seen in Utah (and I’m a native Utahn!) The cabin was immaculate and so stylish. Rich was extremely easy to communicate with and check in and out was a breeze. Already trying to talk my extended family into a group rental of the home for a Summer or maybe even Winter get together. Thank you!

  • Rich and his family have put together a beautiful home in a breathtaking location. They accommodated our large group easily and communicated quickly and thoroughly through the whole process. The tips and activities they put together made it very easy to enjoy lots that the area had to offer. Would highly recommend for a fantastic place to gather with friends or family and enjoy a great time together without a lot of distractions.

If you're looking to get away from everything and be in a quiet, secluded place in the mountains, this cabin is perfect for you. It's located in the Uintah Basin 90 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. It's between Strawberry Reservoir and Starvation Reservoir on the south side of the Basin. The property is covered in Pinon pines and Rocky Mountain Junipers, and had a view of the Blacktail Mountains. The home itself is built on the upper part of an acre lot and is surrounded my no other houses in any direction. The nearest neighbor is a sometimes-occupied trailer that is over a quarter mile away. Although there can be quite a bit of snow up in the Uintah Mountains, the road to this house is plowed by the county, so there is year-round access by car. We refer to this as our "cabin", but really it's more of a modern 4-bedroom house. It has central heating, but there is also a wood-burning stove for added ambiance & comfort. Water is provided by either a large cistern treated by reverse osmosis or a fresh-water well on the property. You'll get the away-from-it-all experience without having to deal with the off-the-grid problems that primitive cabins have. Free off-street parking and free wifi. Aside from the relaxing secluded location, this house has some great amenities: There is a new 6-person deluxe hot tub located right off of the main patio. The covered porch is gigantic and has plenty of patio furniture for everyone to sit around on, including several hammock chairs. There is a chimnea-style fire pit located outside on a large patio under the stars. Inside, the 50" flat-screen Roku Smart TV is logged into Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. There is a spacious dining room located right off of the kitchen with its own west-facing small patio. The brand-new modern kitchen is stocked with every amenity you'll need to cook full meals during your stay. All towels and linens are included - the home will be completely set up when you arrive and you won't be required to clean the place up before you leave since we have our own cleaning crew. BEDROOM SETUP: • Bedroom 1: King Bed • Bedroom 2: Queen Bed • Bedroom 3: Queen Bed • Bedroom 4: Pullout Twin Futon • Living Room: Self-inflating Queen Aerobed BATHROOM SETUP: • Bathroom 1: Full bathroom with walk-in shower • Bathroom 2: Full bathroom with shower/tub combo
We bought this as our second home so we could occasionally get away. It has some of our personal items, but it's certainly not cluttered.

Rancho Sin Vacas is a beautiful, 12-acre property on the N. Fork of the Duchesne River at the base of the Ashley National Forest in Hanna, UT, 78 miles east of SLC. The cabin has an updated kitchen, dining, living with new sofa sleeper, bath, bedroom, bedroom cantilevered over river, deck, and fire pit. The cantilevered room is the only legal cantilevered structure over the river. It has 2 ponds, 2 canals, 4 llamas, and 1 alpaca. It is the perfect river retreat!
The Property is sandwiched between red Navajo Sandstone Outcroppings to the North and West, which would be standard in Moab, but you are only 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Salt Lake. The bedroom over the river, with the right gear, can be fished out the window. However, I would not recommend that! The cabin is split into 2 units. The owner is available on site to answer questions and concerns.
  • Carl's description for this house "sleep on the river and fish it the next day" is exactly what you can do. The craftsmanship to the custom built cantilever, that literally sits over the duchesne river, is absolutely amazing. This is not your ordinary Airbnb, it's an experience and you will not want to leave. The cabin has a beautiful deck and you can watch hummingbirds all day long. Feed the lamas and have them it out of your hand, that's a first. This property is an absolute gem, I wish Carl needed 2 onsite employees, my wife and I would be back there tomorrow.

    Garrett2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking sunsets, then sparkling stars, then tranquil sunrises over the river. This place has everything you would need for a relaxing stay. The kids enjoyed the llamas, alpaca, and birds. Very hospitable host.

    Teneille2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Carl's cabin was an incredible place. We were not disappointed! The patio was a very nice place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful nature. So many fun things to do and the fishing was great. Carl was an amazing host. He went out of his way to make our family get-together very enjoyable, and even let us help feed his llamas and alpacas! Would definitely recommend it!

    Burton2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Even for one night, this was a great place to stay. Longer would be better. The sound of the river was a soothing backdrop while sitting on the enormous porch watching the hummingbirds dive bomb one another. Meeting the llamas and the alpaca were a highlight for the kids.

    Amy2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions.

    Cam2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • When I was originally booking this cabin I thought the price was a bit steep, but upon arriving I realized this was so much more than a cabin... this was an experience. There was not a single detail Carl hadn't thought of it and words can't even begin to explain how amazing this trip was! I brought all 3 of my dogs and they couldn't have possibly had more fun than they did this day! They played with the llamas, and the entire property is fenced so they were able to run free! There is a HUGE amazing treehouse you can go into that is so unique! There is a cabin on the river, we opened all of the windows and slept with the sound of the river and the river breeze going over our faces, it was so peaceful! You can go into the river and fish, or there is a huge pond that he has stocked with fish! There is endless amounts of things to do at this cabin. Carl also has wi-fi set up, but trust me... with as much fun as you're going to have, you won't even want to look at your phone other than to take photos because this will be a trip you never forget! Carl is an incredible host and is always available when he's needed, but you'll likely not see him after he shows you around. He is the perfect host! I cannot WAIT to come back!

    Karley2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool location right on the Duchesne River! The amenities were top notch and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. It is very neat being able to listen to the river run while sleeping in the room that overhangs the river. Owner was available for anything that we needed and was very helpful with any questions we had. I caught several trout the next morning right beside the room that I slept in over the river. Overall great experience for us!

Life is simply better in the mountains or at the beach. You'll LOVE this view over looking the evening sunset, sitting in the swing or chair on the deck! It's a small, cozy cabin, but I suppose what people like the most is my collection of books/deco/DVDs and, yes VHSs! I am an artist and author (The Last Snapshot) available on Amazon. Marilyn Morningstar is my pen name and people usually call me Morningstar. I live that! This is my private residence, no frying, no smoking. Welcome!
I have a small guest room with private shower on the loft floor of my cabin in the Unita (Rocky Mountains) Mountain range about 7 minutes east - above Heber, Utah, near Park City, about 50 miles from Salt Lake City. We have a 60" Plasma screen, DVD, fireplace, kitchen, piano. guitar and various musical instruments, several porches, and the views surround us. Facing west we are overlooking the sunset, a lake and the Timpinogas Mountain range and the back of Park City. Hiking in the pines, snow shoeing, cross country skiing out the door, moose, deer, raccoon, many bird species and other critters. Wildflowers change all summer long. You bed is an excellent queen spread with down comforters, your private bath is new and equipped with full shower, sink and toilet. You may keep a few groceries in the main kitchen refrigerator and so light or microwave cooking. Parking on property includes space for a motor home or car or van or truck. Bedding is changed once per week while you're staying with us. Free wireless access, outside barbecue, and friendly smiles. I can help you plan your trip through the Unitas or West Coast. I've traveled most of the world and can speak English, and some French and Spanish. I have tons of Lonely Planet books and maybe another 1000 books to choose from in my library! You will need a car and to get here during the winter, a four-wheel drive vehicle. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Utah. BTW, I am easy going, so if you don't drink, that's great, if you bring a bottle of wine, I will provide the goat cheese and crackers!
This is the most peaceful place on earth. I have 2.5 acres all enclosed in trees, so completely private, 3 porches, and a view to die for! I overlook a lake and huge mountain range, but my favorite part of living her is the animals that roam freely about. Deer, moose, raccoon's (hard to see though!) owl, and all sort of birds and squirrels. Yes, I have feeders all around my yard, so hummingbirds and all sorts of colorful birds abound. They know where their bread is buttered!
