  • Áine's home is a traditional, classic farmhouse that has benefited from the deft, artful touch of an artist's hands. The room itself is bright, airy, modern/stylish and warm. The bed is super comfortable... a really lovely sleep escape.

Fantastic historical walks and drives, great place to base yourself for touring around.
Beautiful stone build cottage built in 1790 on the grounds of a large farm house. there is a spiral staircase from the ground floor to the first floor bedroom and bathroom. great views of the country side and the sea, less then ten mins walk to several beaches 40 mins from Dublin airport, and 60 mins from Dublin port ferry.
lovely blend of country side and surround by the sea
  • Beautiful little spot nice for a quiet romantic getaway, nice and private only draw back was the spiral stairs are very narrow. Otherwise it was excellent

    Shawna2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Is was fantastic, very nice place with a jacuzzi!!!! We enjoyed the peaceful surounding & beautyful nature in the little cottage. Nice bed, cosy house and A friendly host.

  • We had a beautiful time in the cottage. Mark is a great host and we think that we'll come again. Thanks a lot!

    Esther2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we had given ourselves more time to explore the area around this cute cottage stay. The cottage itself was tricky to find in the dark but Mark's instructions were invaluable and he always responded really quickly! Nice touches like milk, bread and eggs very much appreciated. Suggest taking some DVDs if you like a quiet night in, on the cosy sofas with the electric fire on as TV signal intermittent (no fault of the host of course!) Hot tub really enjoyable and Mark quick to come pop it on for us.

    Megan2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property in a peaceful location - everything you need for a home away from home !

    Miriam2019-08-15T00:00:00Z

    Michael2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Glebe cottage for 3 nights. Mark's attention to detail via message before our arrival provided the information we needed for a hassle free check-in. On arrival, milk, bread and eggs were left for us which was a pleasant surprise. The cottage had everything we needed and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and laid back stay. The hot tub was our main reason for booking Glebe cottage and it did not disappoint. Thank-you Mark and family, we will definitely be back!

My home is in a quiet countryside area with lots of space. It is half way between Dublin and Belfast, a ten minute drive from the busy town of Drogheda, a 5 minute drive from the beach and easy access to all the beauties of the Boyne Valley.
Enjoy the comfortable bedroom or relax in the peace of our lounge or join us for a cuppa and chat or local tourism advice in our comfortable living room/ kitchen area.!
This area of Ireland is very historical. I would advise visits to Newgrange burial mound, Mellifont Abbey, Monasterboice Tower and Celtic crosses, Oldbridge Battle of the Boyne site and museum as well as a trip to the historical walled town of Drogheda with great views from Drogheda's Millmount museum. I reccomend a walk on the quiet beautiful beaches in clogherhead and maybe head to north county Louth where you can hike in the stunning Cooley and Mourne mountains and stop in the award winning village of Carlingford for a delicious meal. If you are feeling adventurous you could try some activities at celtic adeventures in clogherhead or carlingford adventure centre and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)ark.

  • Lovely bungalow in an ideal location for exploring. The kids loved the games that were left, as well as the DVDs. We loved the stove and the comfy sofas and the relaxation on a chilly winter's evening. The Centra a minute's walk away was a bonus, handy to pick up the milk that was forgotten in the shop for provisions!

  • Rachel apartment is in a great location when visiting Castlebellingham especially if you’re attending a wedding. The apartment is spotlessly clean, very stylish and quiet. Rachel supplies a welcome basket with bread, milk etc. We would highly recommend.

    Michael2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel’s apt was a very comfortable and clean apartment and it was very tastefully decorated. She left lovely local treats for us on arrival which was very thoughtful. Her instructions were clear to her apartment however the difficulty I had was to get parked as the space that was allocated was always full out of Rachel’s hands. Thank you for your warm welcome and your generosity.

Lovely room for rent, not ensuite however guests use the main bathroom not shared with owner. This is one of two rooms available, if you would like to book both rooms please contact me to arrange. Guests can share some communal areas; sitting room and garden. Breakfast is included, all food served is gluten free. This is a dog friendly house, I have a dog who loves human company. Let me know in advance what type of dog you have so I can make sure I can accommodate them.
The house is located in a very quiet area of County Louth very close to the village of Annagassan. It's a real retreat and a home away from home. There's lots of outdoor space to sit, relax, read a book if the weather is good. We are a 10 minute walk from the village of Annagassan where you can visit the Glyde Inn and sample some of their amazing seafood and listen to music at the weekends. The beach is lovely for walking and Port beach which is also close by is great for swimming. Blackrock village in County Louth is about 15 minutes drive and there are a number of good places to eat there. I will be able to advise you on places to visit, restaurants, cafes and so on. This is a totally gluten free house so serve only gluten free foods.
Annagassan has a strong Viking heritage. The village sits where the River Glyde enters the Irish Sea. It's a beautiful unspoiled village and area. The beach is lovely for walking and there are a couple of pubs and a shop. The Glyde Inn is known for it's amazing seafood and local produce and they have live music at the weekends. The neighboring town of Castlebellingham has more amenities including a pharmacy and coffee shop.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aileen's. On arrival she made us tea & coffee with some homemade biscuits and left us to relax on our own in the sitting room. Her two small dogs were very friendly. Aileen has made some lovely decorative touches throughout the house and everywhere is spotlessly clean. A healthy breakfast of granola, berries and homemade bread provided the perfect start to the day. I will definitely look to stay here again.

    Iomhar2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Aileen was a great host. Great communication to begin with. Very accommodating. Her house is immaculate and the room I stayed in was really comfortable and spacious. Definately recommend Aileen's place to anyone thinking about staying in the area.

  • Aileen is a true gem - friendly, warm, hospitable and so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, the property was gorgeously decorated, homely and sparkling clean. She put on a brilliant breakfast spread both days, always easy to get in touch with on WhatsApp if needed, and she kindly dropped us off for our bus back to Dublin on our way home. We stayed here for a wedding at Segrave Barns which was a 10 minute drive away. I would not hesitate to stay here again and can highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in this area!

  • Aileen's place is brilliant and I would encourage anyone to visit on your trip to the East coast or Boyne Valley.

  • This place is an absolute gem. Aileen is so helpful and lovely we had the best time staying here, not just that the house was beautiful and so welcoming, but Aileen could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was amazing, such an effort was made. Aileen helped us book taxis as we had a wedding near by and even offered to take us if the was no cars available. We really lucked out staying here, could not recommend more. X

Toiletries and towels were provided. There was a breakfast room for our use only and it was well stocked. I can recommend staying here, and will do so again myself when staying in the area.

Buttercup Cottage is an idyllic thatched cottage situated in the lovely seaside village of Clogherhead on the east coast of Ireland, a half an hour north of Dublin airport. Renovated and extended, Buttercup cottage provides 3 bedroom 2 bathroom accommodation, perfect for a holiday getaway. It is just 300 yards from the beach, perfect for swimming or kayaking. If you feel energetic enough you can walk over the head to the harbour, where fresh fish is for sale , or just meander along the beach.
Originally a fisherman's cottage, the house is one of five thatched in the village. It is a welcoming retreat, close to golf courses, beaches and walks, historic sights and only an hours drive to Dublin and the airport. Accommodation consists of a sitting room, double bedroom with ensuite shower room and a bathroom in the original building, with a kitchen and two more bedrooms in the new addition. It has a large enclosed rear garden with french doors opening onto a sunny stone courtyard. The original thick walls and high paneled ceiling in the sitting room give a charming and comfortable atmosphere. The main double bedroom retains its original features and has fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table seats six (or eight if needed) and double doors open onto the garden. The patio has outdoor furniture and we often enjoy breakfast outside. The main bathroom has a bath and shower. The rear bedrooms overlook the garden, one has bunk beds and the other is a double room, both have desks and clothes cupboards. A cot and high chair are available on request. The garden is enclosed and not overlooked, with plenty of room to play. Guests are welcome to use the plentiful fresh herbs growing in pots.
Clogherhead is a pretty village, and our house there is a short stroll to the beach (just 200 yards/ mtrs down Crooked Street. Although small, Clogherhead is well supplied with a pharmacy, butcher, post office, general shop and a few great music pubs. The restaurants offer a varied choice, with pizza being our favorite. The Blue flag beach is long and very safe for swimming with a long sandy stretch and some rock pool for exploring, we have a lifeguard in the summer. There are walks up onto the head, and along the beach that range from easy to strenuous. A favorite path takes you over the head (rocky pennisula) to the harbour with fish and shellfish are sold in the Fishermans Catch shop straight off the working boats. They do great fish and chips too. Recreational fishing from the pier is popular, and we are famous for our run of summer mackerel. There is an adventure centre on the beach, where SUP boards, kayaking and lots of adventure activities are available. Clogherhead is also well placed for non beach activities, with Seapoint and Baltray world famous golf courses 3 miles away. Drogheda, a heritage medieval town with a wealth of interesting historic sights is nearby. The famous Boyne River runs through it, with the Battle of the Boyne interpretive centre, Newgrange, an UNESCO world heritage site, Beaulieu House, Melifont Abbey, the High Crosses and round tower at Monsterboice all in the locality.
  • Beautiful cottage in center of village . Perfect base for a short stay in Clogherhead . The headland walk was easy to get to from the house and shops pubs, restaurants all close by . Would return .

  • A beautiful spacious cottage, clean and fresh and so close to the sandy beach. A minor problem with internet access was rapidly dealt with by Aisling. The Smugglers restaurant was excellent for a meal too. Breakfast is excellent at the nearby Forge Farm cafe.

  • We were staying at this cottage with our 3 children over mid term. It was the perfect base to explore the area and visit Tayto Park and Funtasia. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend a visit.

    Fiona2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Buttercup Cottage is located in a remote village outside Drogheda. While getting to and from was a little more work than other Airbnb’s it still offered up a unique charm. The Thatch Building was charming...it was stylish and very comfortable. I would say due to its remoteness I was way more relaxed here than any other location on our European holiday. We savoured the day taking a long scenic walk along the coast. It was really special. The folks living in Clogherhead were kind, genuine and helpful. I really did enjoy this Airbnb! Thank you

    Paula2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is fabulous. The bedrooms are spacious but still retaining the cottage feel. Having the garden at the back was great for the kids and being a 5 minute walk from such a lovely beach was brilliant too. There are a few nice restaurants in walking distance too (wish we had booked in advance as the pizzeria was fully booked). We really enjoyed our stay and Aisling was a super host.

Spacious 1st floor apartment (sleeps 5) in the friendly village of Annagassan. Living area with large picture window showcasing a spectacular view of Dundalk Bay and the Cooley and Mourne Mountains. We recommend a car for exploring the sites of interest nearby including Newgrange, The Hill of Tara, Carlingford and the historic high crosses at Mellifont Abbey and Monasterboise. Ideal base for golfing holidays or walking and cycling in the Cooley Peninsula. 1 hour to Dublin or Belfast
Spacious apartment in peaceful setting. Guests have the entire apartment to themselves. Ideal for a peaceful retreat or as a base for exploring further afield. Please note there is no WIFI in the apartment and no landline telephone.
Annagassan is a small friendly village. The Glyde Inn is a traditional family run pub and restaurant and is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. It won National Pub of The Year and Irish Food Pub of the Year 2018 at the Irish Pub Awards. The village also has a small shop.
  • Valerie is a wonderful host with a beautiful property, immaculately kept. She was very swift in responding to any queries, extremely accommodating and very understanding when there was a mix up on our side! We have had three different bookings with Valerie and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else if we were in the area again. I couldn't recommend this property highly enough.

    Hugh2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Would very highly recommend a visit to this beautiful apartment. It is finished to a high spec, clean, warm and very comfortable. The 'piece de resistance' is the incredible view from the living room window - no other entertainment needed. The host, Valerie, is very accommodating and laid out a warm welcome for us. She kept in contact before and during our visit to ensure we had every detail required, letting us know that she was very happy to help with anything at all. The property is located in a rural village so I would recommend to bring a car. It's quite close to many attractions including newgrange, tayto park, and towns of Dundalk and Drogheda just to name a few. We had three kids aged 12, 10 & 5 who loved their stay. We will definitely return here again and highly recommend to everyone.

  • We had an amazing time at Siobhan’s place. The view is unmatched by any other places you’ll stay at. The beach is at your door step, it’s a very cute cottage with all the amenities you could need, and Siobhan gave us some fresh bread as well! You’ll probably need a rental car or Uber to get here, but it’s worth every penny.

    Jared2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so amazing I am reluctant to share😊 but I wont be selfish. Although quite rustic this place has everything you could possibly need for an amazing restorative stay. It is tiny but then its only for 2 adults. It was cosy, stylishly furnished and clean. And oh that bed!!! ❤

    Patricia2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Hathaway Cottage is a charming place with a beautiful view of the shore. Siobhan was fantastic host. Would highly recommend staying there!

    Dave2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Siobhan is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Hathaway Cottage is beautiful and ideal for the perfect quiet break. Location is stunning, waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the sea is just idyllic. The cottage is so clean and its home from home. Without doubt would recommend. I’m so glad we have found this gem as we will be back. Thanks Siobhan 👍🏼

    Pauline2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a little piece of heaven....and Siobhan was absolutely fantastic thanks again!! 🥰

    Kelly2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really special. The location is stunning and the cottage is beautifully done. Siobhan was a lovely host and we had a great time watching the tides and the birds and the light.

  • Mick's and his family hospitality was remarkable! Me and my girlfriend were welcomed warmly and everything was simply perfect. The room was cozy and we even had our own living room to chill out! We had a great breakfast in the very nice kitchen of the house, equipped with a nice espresso coffee machine (definitely a plus!). Last but not least, the beach is around the corner and a walk is definitely worth it!

    Michele2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Mick and Marie they have a beautiful stylish home. Everything was very clean and we had a great nights sleep. The bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this house.

    Kevin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mick and Maria's place is perfectly placed just outside Drogheda with a bus stop 2 minutes from the house and 5 minutes walk from a beach. We had a nice walk along the beach one morning to get breakfast in the next town over. We stayed during the Fleadh and it was very easy and fast to get in and out of town for the concerts. The house is spotless, the bed was super comfortable so I slept really well and the hosts provide a nice light breakfast - with great coffee! Both Mick and Maria were very welcoming and gave us good tips of things to do and see. Would definitely recommend this spot if staying in or around Drogheda! Thanks again, Clare.

    Clare2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mick and Maria will make sure you know all the fun things you can do in and around Drogheda. They are interesting and friendly people with a VERY lovely house near the beach.

    Rebecca2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and Mike have a lovely house from where they run their Airbnb. You are welcomed as if you were friends coming over and you are offered tea upon arrival. The room we slept in was like the rest of the house we saw bright and tastefully decorated and the bed was good. We had the great pleasure of meeting Maria and Mike's 2 grandchildren and they were 2 lovely boys. We were guided in what to see in the area from our own experience. Had we had more time we would have stayed a day longer.

  • A great place, perfect for our requirements. There was a lovely selection of food items provided-bread, cereals, milk, butter & a fully stocked tea cupboard! We even got to meat the family pets, 2 cats and a dog! Would certainly recommend this as a place to stay and will return in the future!

  • Good location, all you need for a stay and privacy extended by host.

    Anthony2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights at Brigitte's Granny Flat in Blackrock. It's the perfect location to see much of Northern Ireland! Brigitte had the refrigerator stocked with food items, including eggs, milk, rashers/bacon & a lovely little fruit tray! The bedroom was so nice, bed very comfortable. Bathroom with nice deep bath & shower, best of all washcloths! We stayed in 3 other locations during our 12 days in Ireland & not a single one had washcloths! Go stay with Brigitte, you won't regret it! I might add she did all this for our stay while also having to deal with a sick family member.

    Cheryl2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brigitte's Granny flat is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. In a vary quiet safe neighbourhood with an easy walk to Blackrock beach, shops, restaurants and pubs. This listing is for a double room, in the three-bedroom home where my husband and I live with our two cats.
You'll be comfortable here! We are very relaxed people.
We love living in this beautiful seaside village. The beach is a ten-minute walk from our front door, and there are two pubs and several places to eat in the village. The price you pay for rural tranquility is that it's not the easiest place to get to using public transport, so it will be more convenient for you if you have a car.

  • Owen was highly communicative, he even picked me up at the bus station, which was a bit of a relief since Dundalk can be pretty chilly in February. The room was clean and contained all the facilities that I needed. Owen was helpful and willingly lent me phone chargers and adapters which I had managed to leave behind. I would definitely stay here again should the opportunity or need arise.

    Truls2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a wonderful stay! Owen is very friendly, kind, big-hearted person and wonderful host. He always offered me help with anything and made sure that my stay is comfortable and I don't miss anything. He was so kind and even offered me a lift when I arrived and when I was leaving which I very appreciate. The room and house are beautiful, clean and very nicely decorated. The house is full of positive and loving energy just like his owner. The area is safe and very quiet but still near to all what you might need. I would absolutely recommend Owen and his place for both short and long-term stay. Thank you very much for everything, Owen. I really do appreciate it and wish you all the best :)

    Ronnie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment itself is small, cozy, and clean. For my purposes, it was in a great location. Owen is a wonderful host and communicates well, making sure I slept well, that the house was warm enough, etc. He went out of his way to make sure I felt at home as well, with entertainment options, cooking, snacks. If given the chance, I would definitely stay here again!

    Patricia2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Hey Owen, I had such a wonderful experience staying at your place! Right from the beginning your directions and communication were spot on! The house is beautifully decorated and above everything it is conveniently located. Thank you for the accommodation. I will definitely repeat in future and I highly recommend your house to everyone who is looking for a stay in Dundalk. Lastly I have no doubt you will become a Super host very soon!

    Arjun2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really appreciated a warm place to stay. Had an emergency stop in Dundalk and needed a place to stay in the winter cold. This guy was a godsend and replied fast and easy with a room. The house is nice and the rooms warm and comfortable when you go to bed and when you wake up. So nice with a hot shower in the morning. Can absolutely recommend this guy.

  • Owen is one of the nicest person I’ve ever met, I’m glad I chose his place eventually... he truly made me feel like I was at home. His place is very close to Dkit and the bus stop, and approximately 20 minutes by walk to the town center of Dundalk. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended!
