“Another lake that is stunning year round and warm to swim in during the Summer months. Like the Langbath lakes, Offensee is also around an hour to cycle to from the Rosenhof or just a 15 minute drive.”

“The Langbathsee is particulary pretty with an upper and lower lake. It is only 8kms from Ebensee so you can bike or drive. Take a picnic and walk both lakes. The mountains soar above the upper lake. Beautiful scenery, mountains all around, lakes pristine and perfect, easy walk (no steep inclines) approx. 2 hours around both the smaller and bigger lake, perfect for a family stroll. It is a great place to spend a whole day when is hot, with the beautiful view on the high mountains. There is a good place for swim, a quite nice stony beach and very clean water. Close to the lake is a huge car parking (for free), toilets and a bar with cold drinks and something to eat. If the weather is not sufficient for swimming it is a good place for walking or riding on mountain bike. ”

“Let's start our journey from Ebensee, from the bottom station of mountain lift. Let's buy tickets, and after a few minutes we will reach the top of the mountain, with a perfect view on Traunsee, Dachstein and many many others mountains. On a clear day, you can see for miles! On the top, we can just take a seat and observe landscape around us or start hiking (short distance - about 1 hour long, or a little bit more longer - more than 3 hours). Paths are wide and quite flat. This is absolutly good place to spend a whole day.The views are wonderful and restaurants have great food. Lovely place, good skiing, great ski school! ”

“ Typical local Austrian cuisine. The interior is attractively barn-like and in good weather the courtyard is large and yet has a cosy feeling. ”

“The coffee tastes good. The breakfast also. The place is nice. There is a play corner for children and it is smoke free! Make a reservation if you like to have breakfast there!”

“A settlement area since the Hallstatt culture, Bad Ischl was first mentioned in a 1262 deed as Iselen. In 1419 Archduke Albert V of Austria established the local seat of the Salt Chamber (Salzkammer) at Wildenstein Castle and Ischl was granted the privileges of a market town in 1466 by Emperor Frederick III. On 19 August 1853 the engagement between Franz Joseph and Elisabeth of Bavaria (Sisi) took place at the Seeauerhaus, Esplanade No. 10, which since 1989 has been the location of the Museum der Stadt Bad Ischl.”
