Aafke has a beautiful apartment, wonderfully modernised, in a gorgeous house that is a tourist attraction! Edam is an amazing town and this is the perfect base to explore it and the surroundings. For example, it took us about 30-minutes to walk to the coast at Volendam.

The studio was beautiful and Aafke was super lovely. It was clean, comfortable and homey. Aafke was very accomodating, check in and out was very smooth and no hassles. My sister and I enjoyed staying in the little town of Edam, The bus station was a few minutes walk from the studio and connects directly to Amsterdam Centraal (20 mins).

The ad knocked and the description as well. The reception we were quite short, but was nothing wrong with it. Perhaps it would be like an information folder about the area.

Aafke's place is a true gem, its location couldn't be better and the apartment itself is exactly as described. North Holland is a fantastic region to explore. We highly recommend Aafke's and the area and will be back ourselves.

The charm of Edam, the charm of Aafke, and the charm of her lovely apartment made our visit to Amsterdam extra special. Edam is about 30 minutes from Amsterdam by bus and is a wonderful place to escape to and call home if you like a more peaceful place to stay. The bus into and out of amsterdam is accessible and runs often. The town and her residence are absolutely adorable and the people in the community are incredibly friendly. The apartment is really sweet, so much light, lovely decorations, fresh flowers, very clean, and a wonderful modern bathroom. I was able to go to a great market down the street and cook a couple of times. The kitchen had all the essentials and it was a comfortable place to prepare food. The apartment is ON the famous cheese market, and the day we left we opened our door to vendors selling incredible produce and delectables. Aafke is also a great host. She was so accommodating and helpful. When she couldn't be there to meet us she left the keys with her sweet neighbor, so we were always in good hands. If this place is available to you do not hesitate. We will be back for sure!

Aafke's studio is just wonderful - very spacious and comfortable. Aafke greeted us promptly and provided us with directions to local sights and advised us on best places to park. We also appreciated the fruit she provided for our stay. Based on the pictures, I thought the apartment was on the top floor, when it was actually on the ground floor, which worked out great for us. Having the cheese market festivities right outside the door was a real treat. What a great tradition! A tribute to the wonderfully gracious inhabitants of this gorgeous city, to keep providing this show year after year. Having a full kitchen was really very nice. We cooked our own meals during our stay, which saved us from having to eat out every night. The grocery store was a short 15 minutes walk away from the apartment, and very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back someday.

I had a lovely time spending the evening in Edam! Aafke was a very kind host and she greeted us upon arrival and was very helpful with directions and advice about the city. Her room was very clean and well decorated with a touch of home. The location of her place was very close to the bus station, which was very convenient because we were able to take a 30 minute bus ride into the center of Amsterdam. I would recommend Aafke's home to anyone who was looking for a relaxing night in a beautiful, picturesque city!

We had a great stay with Aafke. Housing, very clean and very spacious is ideally situated in Edam is a beautiful village. You can park your car nearby and you can do everything on foot, there is an excellent bakery and a small organic grocery store in the neighborhood! One can also easily rent bikes for exploring the small villages around!

11/10 - will stay again in the future.

The city called Edam is a quiet place to rest. This is the best accommodation for a quiet trip. The bedrooms are nice, and both the kitchen and the bathroom are clean. The owner is kind. But the bedroom is a bit cold. It is recommended to make a reservation on a warmer day. 숙소는 매우 까끔하고 아름답습니다. 주인분도 친절하고 크게 터치하지 않고 에담이라는 도시는 조용하고 아름답기 때문에 조용히 쉬다 오기 좋습니다. 단 침실이 조금은 추워 따뜻한 날에 예약하는 것을 추천합니다.

very quiet and cozy accommodation in the small town of Edam. The town is very cute, there are a few shops and restaurants (including a delicious Italian restaurant and a hotel that offers more local dishes) and buses run very regularly and can be accessed easily and quickly (about 20 minutes) to the city center Amsterdam. I highly recommend this accommodation!

What a wonderful house ! We felt home during our stay. The house is really quiet, decorated with taste, very comfortable, and our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. I definitely recommend that place!

Thanks again to Mr. Veerman and his wife for a very nice week. The house is absolutely amazing .... very nice and decorated in typical Dutch Still, we did not miss anything !!!! The house is located at a dam where you translated with a small ferry needs. In the immediate vicinity is just green, sheep and cows ..... typical of the whole country. Perfect spot to relax !!! After Edam (2km) and Amsterdam (15km) it is not far .... Everything super accessible by public transport. Would make back in an instant vacation !!!! Sooooo love you again !!!!

The house was lovely, very new and located in a quiet place (you even have to cross a canal to reach it, very Dutch experience!). It also had a well maintained garden to enjoy the sun. Evert and Jacqueline were fantastic hosts. Evert collected us at a near hotel and they left a bit of food for us to have dinner. It was a great experience. I would totally recommend it!

Great rental house and environment. 15 min drive to the P + R Zeeburg (to visit Amsterdam) and also perfect for exploring the pretty villages. It is a peaceful haven once crossed the channel, and how charming this little tray! Jacqueline and Evert are welcoming hosts and charming

We had such a wonderful, calm and recreative weekend in the cosy, wonderful decorated Country house in the middle of the polder. We were warmly welcomed and all you might wish to have was placed in there, including bikes. The area is perfect for doing biketrips and going to amsterdam for a day trip. We really recommend this nice place and say thanks for this lovely stay and the hospitality.

We arrived to Amsterdam and after a 20 minutes bus ride we have been in the most beautiful area, in the countryside. Our host Evert was very kind to pick us up from the bus station and drive us to the close-by house. The stay there was just wonderful. The 2-floor-apartment is fully equipped and the hosts, Evert and Jacqueline, are so kind and helpful with suggesting bike trips in the area and sights in Amsterdam. We have had great occasional company of two adorable cats and lots of fun going to and from the house across the channel with the ferry. The area is great for biking and our hosts offered two bikes for us to use, which made our stay even more comfortable. We can only recommend this place and its hosts and look forward to return there soon!

This little house was so nice: quiet, well decorated, with all the things we could need. The garden was cute and the way to join the house very fun ! There were bicycles too. We spent 3 perfect days here, thank you ! We hope coming back soon !

The two-storey Apartment with beautiful terrace and garden is a real gem just north of Amsterdam. The apartment is well equipped, even the fridge offered in reference a sweeping blow of basic foodstuffs, so that one could no less than three days luxuriant breakfast thereof. Evert and his wife are very nice, helpful and give great tips for sightseeing in the area. We can recommend the apartment without limitation.

Sacha's house in Volendam is lovely, modern, very clean and it offers everything you need. It looks exactly like on the pictures. Sacha was a very caring and thoughtful host wo thought about everything and made it very easy for us to arrive there and leave again. All in all: awesome stay!

I recommend Sacha's house to everyone! My mother and I absolutely LOVED everything about Sacha's house! It's truly beautiful (very typical house from Volendam) and clean! Also, Sacha just bought the house (june 2016) and she renovated everything. The bed is big and the mattress is very comfortable. There are 2 rooms (1 room with a BIG double bed and another one with a single bed). The neighborhood is very quiet so you will be able to rest during your stay. Sacha answered all my questions before and during our stay! She offered us a bottle of wine and the breakfast, what a kind attention! She even left on the table a personalized letter with my name and explained us how the TV was working. Her house is ideally located: in the city center of Volendam (only 5 minutes walking from the harbor and 3 minutes walking from the 316 bus stop to go to Amsterdam). Volendam is a Fisherman city with cute Dutch "doll" houses and typical boats. I must say we even preferred Volendam over Amsterdam! It's only 35 minutes by bus from Amsterdam Central station and there are bus every 15-30 minutes during the weekend (very convenient!). If you go to Volendam, I suggest you to go to Marken island as well, a very charming island with cute houses (but different from Volendam so you must pay a visit to this island!). There are boats every 30 minutes and it costs only 10 euros round trip. Do not hesitate to rent Sacha's house, you won't regret it! We really hope we will stay again at Sacha's house because we felt at home right after we entered in her house! Such a nice decoration and beautiful place :)

The typical Sacha house is perfect in every way. Cleanliness, comfort, amenities and location. Maximum of 30 minutes from the center of Amsterdam and pretty villages around, Edam, Volendam, Marken ...... We took our bikes and c was really great. The house Sacha has a small courtyard where we could park the night. very nice stay. Recommend without hesitation.

Sacha's house is very lovely. Everything is brand new and very clean, including the towels and bed linens. The house is nicely decorated, it gave us some ideas for our own homes. She even bought us breakfast for our first day, awesome! The communication between us and Sacha was flawless even though she was on the other side of the world. If you want to go visit Volendam you definitely want to stay in this house.

After spending nearly a week in Volendam we've fallen in love with the place, with it's pristine streets lined with characterful houses, all sporting elaborate window dressing... Sacha’s house did not disappoint either, set in a peaceful street just a short walk from the main square all the amenities are close by making it the perfect location from which to explore Volendam and beyond. Everything seemed new in the house, several nice touches welcomed us on arrival such as a basket full of bread, nibbles and drinks, even some baby food! There were lots of fresh towels available, washing machine and ironing board, everything you could need, cleanliness really was first rate throughout. The bed was really comfy (being just under 2 metres tall this is sometime a concern). A crib for the baby was provided and also bedding which was nice, downstairs there are modern furnishings throughout, fully kitted out kitchen and nice dining area, through to large bathroom which clearly had been recently renovated and a courtyard garden at the rear of the property which caught the sun. Apart from the lovely accommodation what really made our trip was Sasha… during the journey to Volendam our baby became ill with a very high temperature and upon arrival Sasha accompanied us to a Doctors and then to the Pharmacy which was amazing. She then showed us around Volendam, where to park, recommended restaurants to eat in etc and finally showed us round the house. As a hostess she couldn’t have been better, so, along with a fantastic property I would highly recommend you book.

Superb apartment....!!!! All is new in the Sacha's home, and all smell as new, is a warm typical Nederland's house located in the middle of village, few steps from harbor. In the apartment everything was perfectly clean and tidy, (better than as appear in the photo), also there was all necessary to breakfast, and diner. the comunication was excellent before and during our stay, despite that she was on vacations abroad, anyway the last day we could meet her, she's a lovely young Woman. We arrived by car, the access is perfect, and from there, we went to the nearby villages, included Amsterdam, leaving the car into a P+R Parking, (the cheaper option to ride by Amsterdam). This site is highly recomended for any kind of guest.

Our stay in this lovely little house in the middle of a maze of houses nested, was very nice!

The cottage is so charming Gré! It is ideally located in the historic center (really beautiful), near the port. Counter was very friendly and left us full of delicious things in the fridge host. We just noted, as Gré indicated, there has only 2 single beds in housing and they are not side by side. Overall we absolutely loved it !! We will return with great pleasure.

What a sweet and authentic cottage in the center of Volendam! Warm reception with wine, breakfast where we ate two days. Cottage is just super and more Volendam you can not get it. Only downside may be that there are two single beds, but for a girlfriends weekend as ours was perfect! Can highly recommend it and will certainly come back here we could go to Volendam again !!

Our stay in the little Fishermans cottage was a highlight in our holiday. Very relaxing and close to the harbour, supermarket, tourist shops, restaurants and bus stop. We were provided with lovely treats to make breakfast and also some wine, beer and chocolate- a lovely touch. Everything needed for cooking was in the kitchen, the bathroom was clean and a good shower. The stairs up to the bedroom were fine for us but could be a bit much for older people. As the ad says, there are 2 single beds that cannot be pushed together. Wifi did not work for us. There is a washing machine and dryer free to use. We stayed 4 days and were sad to leave. The beautiful church is worth a visit and its chimes are beautiful.

The cottage was fantastic, a lovely old house with a good location. Everything is close and it was nice to see that there are occasional guided tours were given by this alley. Personal welcome and food and drink in the refrigerator, in short, a very special experience,

We didn't meet Erik in person as he was out of town but I spoke with him on the phone three different times and he was very friendly and accommodating. The apartment is in Volendam, less than 30 minutes from Amsterdam. The town is darling with little cobbled streets and a lovely waterfront with shops and restaurants and bars and a cheese factory. There are little canals that run through the town. I would definitely go back.

The apartment of Erika was great and clean. The neighbors were really nice and even left us their parking ticket. Thus, we did not go into a parking garage. I would the Book apartment at any time. We liked it very much.

Eriks house was large clean and bright. Location was close to everything and easy walking distances for anyone. Very helpful and kind hosts. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you. I would recommend Erik's place and would happily come back if our travels take us here again.

The house is very quiet, yet very close to the historical center of Volendam. Erik provides a short guide that he wrote to mark the location of the house, the sights of the surroundings and a number of practical information; this is useful.

Erik was a great host even though we didn't meet him in person. He made sure that his neighbor was there if we needed anything and his neighbor was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very comfortable and Volendam was a lovely town to stay in. It was very easy access to Amsterdam and full of things to do and see.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Rob & Sonja gave us a very warm welcome and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches throughout the home- breakfast for the first day, toys for the children, etc. The house is a nice size and decorated very nicely and it is in a great location in Edam, which is such a charming little town. I booked two nights Rob housing for my in-laws. They unfortunately did not arrive on the scheduled day and Rob was extremely accommodating to welcome the morning. They were delighted with the house (charming, meets the photos on the announcement, two steps from the station of Edam) and the surroundings. My husband and I contacted Rob very easily, he and his wife have proved really thoughtful and attentive (to install a swing in the garden to the little brother of my husband and provide small gifts for each guests ...). In short, I confirm that they are "great hosts". A big thank you to all of them!

Since Edam we really like since a Stipvisite few years ago, we were looking for a short break a house there and immediately fell in love Rob's old canal house. Communication with him was quick from the outset, uncomplicated and very warm. On arrival - unfortunately were Bob and Sonja even out of the country - we were very pleasantly surprised: the house is still much prettier and loving designed as let the photos suggest, everything was prepared for us, including a welcome greeting and the delicious Nasi Gorengs. During our week long stay attracted several storms over Noord Holland, but when you come home after our day trips in the surrounding area (Amsterdam Centrum z. B. is prima reached in 45 minutes by bus!) Compensated us the warm atmosphere especially the light-flooded even in continuous rain dining area for the rigors of the weather. Whenever we come to Edam again - Rob canal house will be the first choice: Although within walking distance - especially during the cheese market on Wednesday morning very busy - center, it is nestled on a quiet canal street, stops a few meters ahead of the bus Amsterdam and Volendam. And most of all we felt welcome as guests and were very, very comfortable. Some years ago we spent a few hours in Edam and since then we've liked it. That's why we Looked for a house there to spend a short holiday in this cute town. We immediately fell in love with Rob's old canals House. We had a wonderful time in Edam. Everything was perfect. The house has a very pleasant atmosphere. Because you can feel comfortable. The peaceful Edam is a "dollhouse". The port, the town center and the bus stop to Amsterdam are easy to reach. We were warmly welcomed, for the first breakfast was all ready. Sonja and Rob brought us great confidence. Every time we would recommend it.

We had four wonderful days with our family in the great canal house of Rob and Sonja. A beautiful house, where you immediately felt comfortable - from the cozy sofa to comfortable terrace. A special highlight for me was the huge gas stove with which makes cooking fun. The service with the drinks and the prepared food has us very well, thank you!

The house of Sonja and Rob is located in Edam at a canal, within walking distance is all within easy reach (shops, restaurants, pubs, museums). Upon entering you immediately feel comfortable and at home. It has everything you need, even a bike and a boat are also included. So 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed it well !!!

The hosts were very welcoming and kind to us. The house was comfortable, clean and really nice. It was a delight to stay there for two nights.

We were able to let ourselves in, and as soon as Margreet was home, came over to see if we needed anything. The neighborhood was very nice—quiet and lovely. The bakery right next door was a special treat. The Bike rental shop was just a few steps further. Other shops, restaurants and the harbor were in easy walking and/or biking distance. It is also very convenient to take the bus to neighboring towns or right into Amsterdam. Margreet shared area highlights with us, many of which we would have otherwise missed. She and Willem take great pride in their beautiful garden cottage and we appreciated their kind hospitality.

A very sweet little house, completely stand-alone in the center of Edam. Highly recommended if you once during the weekend to explore the Waterland. House is brand new and very clean, has everything you need and is very cozy. Margaret is a wonderful hostess; Genuine 100% recommended this! Beautiful sound and fine apart. Truly your own stulpje.

Our stay at Margreet's and Willem's cottage was simply wonderful. The cottage is in the backyard of Margreet's house ans is bsolutely lovely, maybe even nicer than it looks at the pictures. The house is situated in the city center of beautiful and calm town Edam, just around the corner is amazing bakery (great for the breakfast) and like two minutes by walk is Harmonie cafe with great food, beers and live music/djs at night. Amsterdam is very easy reachable by bus (around 25-30 minutes to Central station). We definitely can recommend this to everyone (and we will), hopefuly we will come back someday.

My girlfriend, our one-year old child and I spent three nights at Margreet and Willem's place. The two have been wonderful hosts, provided us with all the information needed to get around and made us feel at home in their beautifully constructed garden cottage. There was even a bottle of wine on the table and Magreet provided us with coffee for the morning. The pictures show a very realistic image of the place. We found all we needed in the kitchen. Everything was very tidy and clean, designed and decorated with an eye for details. If you want to stay in a beautiful little Dutch town (close to Amsterdam) with nice hosts around we highly recommend this place!

Excellent home, very cozy, very nice neighborhood, although a bit far from downtown, but should be easily accessible by train, as I drove. We only stayed one night, anyway we were blown away by the neighborhood and home.

Very nice location! Not too long of a walk from the bus station. Slightly tricky to find, but just because the door is darker then expected (almost black instead of green, but margreet saw us walk by.) shower was very clean, home was cozy and comfortable, and were even able to cook dinner with the supplies there. I absolutely would recommend this place - margreet was very friendly and gave us great suggestions on the day, and even saved us money by recommending we walk to volendam instead of bussing!

This was a pleasant little bolthole in Edam. Michel and Angelique have created a cosy little space above their garage, with all conveniences -- kitchenette, bedroom, living area. It was bright and clean. The location is very good -- quiet yet close to Edam's historic centre. Michel was kind enough to loan us a couple of bikes for the day and we had a glorious day cycling around the polders and nature reserves nearby.

Edam si a really lovely town. We spent only a night in Michel & Angelique little home but we really loved it: the apartment is clean, nicely decorated and the spaces are well designed. The stairs are a bit steep if you have heavy luggages but that wasn't our case.

What to say except that we had a great time in Edam !! Super home of Angelica and Michel. very clear explanation on housing. Small things make feel at home. A very clean accommodation, very cute and very functional. There is everything necessary both in the kitchen and in the bathroom. The location of the property is ideal. In the heart of Edam where you can find something to rent bikes or take a bus to Amsterdam. For the town of Edam is perfect for who wants to visit the north of the Netherlands (30 minutes by bus to Amsterdam and visits to wonderful villages of Volendam or Marken not to be missed) In short, do not hesitate !!!

We slept one night in the beautifully finished space of Michel and Angelique. Everything you need is available. It is a small apartment in the old part of Edam, everything is within walking distance. Angelique and Michel welcomed us welcoming. We could use two bikes, so we could have explored the area of Edam.

We were the first guests to stay here and it was awesome! The location was great for getting around (by car, bicycle and walking). The property was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed.

Myrthe was great! Her home was perfect. It was more than enough space for me and my two friends and was very clean. Myrthe made sure all of our questions were answered and gave great suggestions on where to visit in Volendam and Amsterdam. Would love to come back again!

I spent two days with my friend at the home of Dorothy and her husband overnight. T was a spacious and clean room with a good bed. Fully furnished in Holland / Volendam spheres. In the morning we were spoiled with a rich breakfast in the conservatory. It was great that we could borrow two bikes. made a nice trip to include Monnickendam, Marken and Edam. The home of Dorothy and her husband is in a quiet residential area of Volendam, where there is ample parking. It was like staying with family. Very cozy!

Very nicely done up room. We had the option to make coffee or tea in our room with balcony. The breakfast was big and tasty with local food. The renters were very friendly and telled us what we can visit in Volendam. The bathroom is big and very clean with everything you need. If you forgot some basic things like a shower gel you can find it in a public drawer there. We liked it and can highly recommend it.

Doortje and her husband made us feel very welcome and we felt us at home. The room has everything You need and the bathroom is newly renovated and looks very nice. The breakfast area and the breakfast itself was very good and influenced us positively each day. We warmly recommend this bed & breakfast.

Doortje' s house sits in a wonderful estate with nature as a neighbour. Perfect Netzwerk for popping into Amsterdam just a 30min busride 10 Euros for a day return. Cosy, clean, friendly host made us a plentiful Breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome, and can certainly say we would go back again .

Great experience, Doortje helped us to find a hostel at the airport because we took an early flight and overall offered all the help we needed. Location is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood not far from the port, the only disadvantage being an extra bus trip to Amsterdam (not covered by Travel Pass). Definitely can recommend and would stay again.

Fantastic Experience, that this stay in Volendam in Doortje and Vim. Charming hosts, beautiful home, quiet and comfortable spacious room. And icing on the cake, a little special lunch where fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, boiled eggs, cold meats, bread and pastries very good oh and the Dutch cheese are available daily. Breakfast served in the bright conservatory overlooking a lovely garden. Little paradise.

The room is clean and comfortable, make me feel at home. And the new bathroom is quiet convenience for us. Doortje is kind and warmhearted, she provide us the delicious breakfast and provide us the useful information. She also respond quickly for the question via Airbnb.
