Holiday Rentals in Eden Mills, Eden

Just booked in Eden Mills, Eden

I used to think that it was just me: I had a soft spot for our cottage because I fell in love with Fred there. But now that many Airbnb guests enjoy the cottage as much as we do, I believe it. It's a sweet place to experience simple rustic living.
Our cottage is a private, separate building in a quiet rural setting - located in the back yard at our home. It is a two story building with open rooms, full kitchen and bath - a little on the creative side but very clean and everything works! The claw foot tub and steps in the bathroom require guests to be steady on their feet, as do the stairs to the bedroom, which are pretty steep. A Hearthstone gas fireplace provides radiant heat and ambiance. Free WiFi is included but it is not strong enough a signal for live streaming - (it is strong enough for email and basic web browsing). Upstairs has a queen bed and a single bed with a single trundle (two singles). Downstairs couch has a double hide-away bed. So, depending on your comfort level with each other and openness, the cottage can sleep a small crowd. The cottage is totally pet friendly. Your pets are free to roam outside too, based on your comfort level. There is a big yard, woods and fields right outside the door. We also have a very friendly dog and a cat and chickens (that are in a fence). We do charge a $25 per pet fee, which we will have to add to your rate after you make the reservation. Walking and Cross country ski and snowshoe trails are right out the door. We have a little map to get your oriented. Morrisville is just five minutes away - a good sized town with Hannafords, a great Natural Foods Coop (called Morrisville Coop) a 24 hour Price Chopper 3 Pharmacies (CVS, Kinney's and Brooks), Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's about 5 Chinese Restaurants, a 4-Plex Movie Theater, and Mobile Station and a few good places to eat and enjoy live music (see my guide book below) We are 20 minutes from Stowe, Hardwick, Craftsbury and Johnson. Stowe Mountain, Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch Ski Areas all easy drives. 20 minutes via back road to Craftsbury Touring Center. We are just a few minutes from Green River Reservoir State Park - absolutely gorgeous area! We love our land and our home and love to share it!
  • I can't begin to express how happy I am that I came across this listing. On a whim I booked a Gerette's Dream Haven to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and we couldn't have asked for a better location and host. We were greeted with fresh eggs and a birthday balloon. Although Gerette was feeling under the weather and was unable to greet us personally she went over and above to suggest breweries, hiking trails, and even sent me the link to rent a kayak. We're already talkinh about returning in the winter.

  • What a wonderful place, and experience! The pictures do not quite capture how cosy the cabin is, with gas fire (simple to use), claw foot bath, eco-friendly, and well-equipped kitchen. It is very spacious, too. The location is excellent: dafe and just outside the villages, but with views of Vermont countryside. Gerette was a kind host, preparing the place for us at short notice, making great suggestions of nearby hikes, down to special little touches. We hope to come back in different seasons!

    Sophie2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • the 'dream haven' was a dream. Gerette pays great attention to detail and provides her guests with special treats that turn an immaculate, rustic VT cottage into a mini retreat. The location is a short distance off the beaten track and requires a brief trip through cow laden meadows in the mountains. It is close to Stowe which offers the best of VT artisan and food culture. The property is beautiful and offers a woodland hike. I'd love to see this place in the fall and winter. Hope to return and highly recommend it

  • For our first Airbnb experience i was amazed at how well this cottage and the surroundings accommodated us and kept us entertained. The little details put a smile on our faces. Getting cozy next to the gas fireplace on the coldest night of the season was a warming experience for me and Alexa on my 25th birthday. Gerette and Fred were welcoming and generous. Provided English muffins with jam and even saved us a trip to the hardware store where we had a little snag. Would love to stay again in the near future, and most likely will.

  • Gerette and Frederic are absolutely amazing. I took my fiancée here for her birthday weekend and they had everything prepared for us, even birthday wishes for my fiancée. The cottage was beautiful with an amazing garden of fresh food, a big yard for the dogs, and a friendly dog of their own for ours to play with. The location was fantastic for some amazing craft breweries, and only and hour or so from Burlington. We were able to drive to Elmore and hike the mountain which was only about 15 minutes away. Overall an amazing visit, don't think twice about staying at dream haven. We will definitely be back!

  • Our trip to Hyde Park was absolutely lovely. Gerette was a perfect hostess and the cottage was everything we could imagine. We only spent one night but took four hikes around the property, cooked three meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and cozied up for a chilly night. The morning sun at the kitchen table was splendid. Our 9 year old lab decided not to climb the steep steps, but that just meant she had the warm stove area to herself. Perfect little getaway -- Highly recommended!

    Elise2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gerette's cabin was beautiful, comfortable, and secluded....just what my fiance, our two pups, and I were looking for. We're from the deep south so making it through a winter storm in the mountains of Vermont was quite an experience, but the wood stove keep us nice and warm. The host was very helpful (even helping us get our car up the snowy driveway) and very available if we needed anything, but left us all the privacy we wanted. If you are looking for a great mountain getaway, this is your place.

    Josh2014-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dream Heaven was flawless. The cozy little cottage was well equipped and placed. From there, our party of six was minutes away from a price chopper, gas station and hiking trails. As a former hiking guide, Gerette gave us a thorough briefing of of the area's hiking attractions such as mount Mansfield. Gerette and her husband were kind and thoughtful hosts. The cottage itself is perfectly suited for up to 5-6 people. The cottage has warm beds, good hot and drinkable water supply and a good kitchen. This is definitely a good place to stay while on hiking trips. Five stars.

Our farmhouse has been in the family for 4 generations and we are happy to share this experience. This is our primary residence in the summer when we run our campground business. We're located right on Lake Eden and only ~30 minutes drive from Stowe, Smugglers Notch, or Jay Peak; an hour from Burlington, 2 hours from Montreal, and 10 minutes from the nearest Long Trail access point. Our property contains access to the lake, walking trails, and small hills for sledding.
We do have two neighbors close by but the property itself has a lot of privacy.
  • Great spot! Thanks Deb

    Miles2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Deb has a wonderful home that is perfectly set up for guests. It is easy to find and once you get inside you won’t want to leave. I highly recommend renting this place on your next ski trip to Stowe!

    Ross2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a great stay here! Our group of four had more than enough space and a room for each of us, but more people could easily be accommodated (we had planned on six people originally and Deb offered to set up beds for them). Deb was a great communicator, left us some tasty breakfast treats, was very accommodating when we asked for a later check-out than originally planned, and offered plenty of advice for groceries, winter fun, etc. in the area. This is an ideal place for any group looking to enjoy quintessential Vermont, and especially skiers heading to Smuggs and Jay - it’s right between them!

My place is good for couples, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). Relaxing four season log home on beautiful Lake Eden. Centrally located just 20 miles more or less to the best skiing in the East: Stowe, Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch. Enjoy 300' of waterfront. Paddle a canoe, take a swim or try some fishing. There are seasonal activities galore, or you can opt to just relax and curl up with a good book next to a roaring fire. New England at it's finest!
  • This place was really nice surprise for us. We were looking for group holiday for three families and everyone was thrilled after reaching the place and after looking scenery around. This home is very well kept , decorated and well staffed. We loved the overall homely feeling. In fact felt lucky to get chance to stay in such a beautiful home . We would definitely be planning for our next visit here again. This place probably has lot to offer for every season. We loved our visit in snow here.

  • Julie was a fantastic host to deal with throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this rental!

    Alexander2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This house and Julie were both amazing. I had a group of six and my dog. The fact that it was pet friendly was a cherry on top; the house itself was beautiful, right on the lake, quiet surroundings but only a half hour - forty minute drive from everything you’d want. Can’t say anything other than that it was perfect.

    Sonya2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay! My family and I came for 3 days. At first, Julie made really easy the communication and gave us all the informations needed. Everything went well, the place is big and lovely. We were 7 and we had so much space we could have been more and be really confortable. The place is well equipe for your stay. Nice for kids and adult (lot of differents spot to relaxe, canoe and place to play outside, two kitchens). 35 minutes from Stowe and 20 minutes from a big grocery store. We had a great week end!

    Myriam2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was as it is describe. It was perfect for our family reunion. We were 9 and everyone had his/her own place. The location is super and very quiet. The fire place was great, everyone enjoy.

    Daniel2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very lovely stay at Julie and Pete's cabin despite a few unfortunate events that the hosts had no control over. The issues that arose were taken care of quickly and Julie and Pete even offered to help find us new accommodation if we preferred but we were able to make due. Although we never met in person, check in and communication were very easy and reliable with multiple phone numbers and emails provided by the hosts. Not only were Julie and Pete completely accommodating, the cabin is beautifully rustic and even better than the pictures. The Watson's really just want you to enjoy their home as we did so if you would like a real Vermont cabin experience then their place couldn't be better

  • Kesley&Troy's place was a very nice and quiet place. We had our privacy and Kesley answered all our questions. Strongly recommended!

    Jona&Bled2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Kelsey was wonderful. The place was spacious and clean. She was communicative and very responsive to our questions, while giving us all the space and privacy we desired. The side porch looks out on a charming little section of secluded, Vermont woods. I would definitely stay here again.

  • If you're looking for a a place in the "sticks" of Hyde Park, not "down town.", this is the place. Very comfortable. As expected.

    Nat2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kelsey's place while traveling through Vermont for hiking and photographing fall foliage. The home is clean, quiet, comfortable and with lovely views. It's easy to navigate to local attractions and trails, restaurants and grocery stores. On clear nights, the location provided gorgeous views of the starry sky. Would stay again and recommend.

  • Great stay! Would recommend if you are going to be in the Stowe area.

    Puneet2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey's place was spacious, clean, cozy, and just what we were looking for! Flexible check-in and it was toasty warm when we arrived. I was attending a race in the area the next morning and wanted someplace where I would get a good night's sleep. Definitely fit the bill and plenty of space for a couple. May be a bit hard to find in the dark-- check the mailbox numbers if so!

    Katherine2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was clean and tidy, quiet, and nice and modern. For just 1 night it was perfect. The bed was very comfortable. I noticed the cable had a full array of channels. And the WiFi worked great. It was nice to have a hot shower. Located an easy distance from Stowe and about an hour from Burlington.

Relaxing getaway in Vermont's North East Kingdom. Enjoy the sounds of the brook out back, morning coffee on the front porch, and the beauty of nature all around. Walk a half mile out the front door and hop on the Vermont Long Trail for the day. Visit local brewers, antique shops, Stowe, Jay Peak, or Newport. There are activities of all kind year round in the North East Kingdom. Your vacation of tranquility awaits you all year round in this peaceful home.
Kitchen essentials provided: Dishes, silverware, cups, pots, pans, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Make sure you bring sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels!!! We ask that you do not go through our belongings in the closets; our stuff is there for us to enjoy our home too. There is to be absolutely NO use of fireplace in the house!! It needs repairs and is unsafe to use. We ask that no candles or any flames be used as well, as we had a guest almost cause a fire. There is no cell service at the house; a land line is available in case of emergency only.
The house is pretty remote. There are a few other houses on the street, but it's a nice quiet area. It's about 20-30 minutes to a grocery store, but there is a general store 5 miles in either direction. The Eden General Store has gas and is a small IGA grocery store.
  • Beautiful home, very clean, cozy and well taken care of. The owners were very accommodating and responded to my messages right away. We would definitely recommend this house to others. My family had a great time there.

This beautiful Swiss chalet sits on 15 acres, 400 ft. of which is lakefront. Enjoy swimming, boating, hiking and fishing. It's a place of pristine beauty! We welcome visitors for full weeks in the summer and 3 night minimum in the fall. Along with our indoor fireplace (outdoor fire pit) we now have a heater for those cool mountain nights!
This beautiful Swiss chalet has been in our family for 50 years. We own 15 acres, 400 ft. is lakefront. The huge wrap-around deck, with its Adirondack chairs, overlooks Lake Eden and is perfect for morning coffee or afternoon board games. We eat most of our meals here or at the picnic table on the shore – just a short path away. Lake Eden, a glacial lake, is considered one of the cleanest lakes in the state. We have two docks (one floating), 2 kayaks and a canoe. In keeping with our Swiss heritage, window boxes and wildflowers are everywhere. A lovely babbling mountain brook entices kids to catch frogs and visiting dogs to get a cool afternoon drink. From the lake you can see Mount Norris -- wonderful for hiking. A great blue heron has a nearby nest. There are deer, fox, and we even know where to send you to see moose. A World Away There is a bench by the brook for reading and relaxing. Much of our time is spent outside. Late afternoon we enjoy the sunset, at night we gather for bonfires and star gazing. The decor is traditional Swiss. There is a queen-sized bed in the living room with a view of the fireplace, two bedrooms (one with two twin beds which can be pushed together, the other has a single twin bed), and our attic, although not fancy, has 3 twin beds and a full sized bed where the older kids love to "hang out." We do allow dogs, but we ask that they are well trained, calm and that they do not climb on the furniture. This is not a place for wild nightlife (although you can find it in nearby towns) it's a place of pristine beauty, warmth, and fun for families! Plenty to do If you are seeking more adventure, there is golf, hiking, horseback riding and white water rafting nearby in Morrisville and Stowe. Stowe also has mini golf, movies and live theatre, an amazing bike trail and some of the world's best spas. In Stowe you can take a gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield for beautiful views and a restaurant which serves lunch. Also, the mountain has an alpine slide. Trappe Family Lodge (of The Sound of Music fame) has evening classical concerts in their meadow. Lake Eden offers great fishing, as do surrounding streams and lakes. And, for a real treat you can charter a boat and go deep sea fishing in Lake Champlain in Burlington. Our kids each caught 4 huge lake trout each, and had a ball doing it!
You share the parking lot with Steve and Carol who own a log cabin there. It's a huge space - most likely you won't hear or see each other unless you want to.
  • Wonderful place. Our family loves this place and would recommend it to anyone!

    Melissa2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Holly's camp!! It was a quiet and peaceful family vacation. The camp was very, very clean and inviting. Can't wait to go back!

    Melissa2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our vacation in Eden. The location was perfect, far from everything and right on the lake. It was really a treat to have our own lakefront area. While we did have fun, and Holly and caretaker Emma were very lovely and responsive, I wanted to clarify a few things I wish I had known before going into the trip, to help other families prepare. It says to bring linens, but I would strongly suggest bringing a comforter and your own pillows as well, as it was all pretty musty. There are plenty of cobwebs, spiders, and other critters inside, so if you are squeamish or not used to rustic living that may bother you. In terms of suggestions, I would say that the couch, the kitchen, and the indoor bathroom were in a state that I was uncomfortable using them. I expected a cleaner living area for this price but was disappointed. We stayed outside as much as possible, and that was wonderful. But cooking, getting ready for bed, and sleeping were all uncomfortable, especially with our young son, so it made the nights rather depressing. In fact, we left a few days early as a result. If you love camping and roughing it, then this place is for you! It truly was gorgeous there and our time spent outdoors made our vacation wonderful. On the other hand, if I had seen the kitchen and bathroom before booking, I think I would have known this is not for me. Thanks for sharing your home, Holly. I wish you and your family many more years of memories in this lovely spot.

    Jennifer2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, 2 daughters (22 months, and 2 months), enjoyed our first family vacation together at Lake Eden. What a special place!! We were happy to escape city life, relax, and enjoy each other without any distractions. Holly's chalet is in a gorgeous location right on the lake, with mountain views behind it. The wildflowers are beautiful, they were in full bloom during our stay. The lake views are spectacular and we saw some amazing sunsets! We loved the spacious waterfront area. Our daughter spent hours wading in the crystal clear water, looking at rocks, and exploring the beachfront. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking. For the most part the lake was very quiet. We also enjoyed hanging out on the deck; taking in the lake, and mountain views. Being in the woods, the chalet is fairly rustic so if you are squeamish about spiders and bugs in your living space then it is probably not the place for you. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this tranquil, beautiful spot! Its a great spot for curious little ones to explore and learn about nature!

    Alysia2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the most wonderful experience at Eden. We were looking for rustic and that's what we got. But a whole lot more as well. The setting was absolutely idyllic...from the glorious wildflowers to the dock and its duck residents, to quietly kayaking just a few feet from a loon family during a feeding...honestly, we could not have wished for more. Our three-year-old had the time of his life and this place is really perfect for someone of his age who loves to run and be free. He spent hours riding his balance bike around the deck, and splashing around in the crystal clear water. He went roaming in the woods, and walked in the brook. And the highlight of the trip was when he found a 4-leaf-clover and produced it with pride, knowing that we had talked about how special it would be to come across such a rare find. The cabin was really special. It was so clear that Holly and her family have spent many incredibly special times here, and that it is considered a significant part of her family's legacy. Memories were everywhere. And it was a joy to be a part of the special energy in the space. Lighting a night fire was really lovely, and again, my son had an active role to play here, bringing the wood from the pile, clearing the ashes each morning etc. He’s a worker, that’s pretty clear. He got such joy from the everyday chores. One of my favorite things in the cabin was a wooden box in which to deposit phones, digital media etc., upon request of the host, a request that if followed, would open guests up to a world without interruption and chaos, email checking and text messaging. It was like an unspoken rule to adhere to placing the phone in the box, and to simply exist...off the grid, disconnected, offline...even for just a few days. Being disconnected brought a renewed appreciation for face-to-face communication...how novel! I think Holly did a good job at setting up a description that gave us a pretty clear picture of what Eden would be like when we arrived. And by the way, in terms of provisions etc., we pretty much had everything we needed to cook, clean, sleep, eat, bathe (the outdoor shower was amazing!). I also think that no words or photos come close to the actual feeling of being there, on the property. Peaceful, beautiful, spiritual, colorful, cozy, welcoming, unique, pure. My family has decided to make a yearly trip to Eden, and to establish our own tradition and create our own memories. We feel humbled and honored to be a part of a very special gem at the end of the road in Eden, VT. We are so grateful to Holly for opening Eden's doors to the rest of us. It has helped us reflect on all that really matters in our family, and in our lives. The Eden Chalet is a gift...

  • This was our second year staying at the lakefront cabin and we absolutely plan on going back for a third. The cabin is comfortable and roomy, the fridge makes plenty of ice to keep us in cocktails, and the deck faces west overlooking the lake and catching the afternoon sun. The real attraction is the location. The cabin is all the way at the end of a long private drive on the quiet side of lake Eden. It makes you feel like you have your own private lake when you site at the fire at night ten feet from the waters edge. We had nearly perfect weather all week. The water was warm and clean, with no invasive weeds that choke so many small lakes. One night we sat by the fire and watched a parade of Japanese lanterns float over the water from a distant wedding on the public side of the lake. On another night we were lucky enough to be there for a spectacular meteor shower and counted no less then four dozen shooting stars from the huge deck. All in all our stay at the cabin was again the highlight of our summer and we cannot wait to visit again next year.

    Mike2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Holly´s cabin at lake Eden is a great place to enjoy a quite summer with family and friends. The cabin is spacious and comfortable and has a very well equipped kitchen for those who like to cook. The lake experience is wonderful and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking and canoeing all around the place. Neighbors are quite and respectful of your space. As Holly pointed out, cell phone service is poor but once you go back to the nearby towns it is easy to connect again. Warm clothes are recommended even in the summer because nights can get cold. We enjoyed every minute at the cabin and we will be happy to return. Lamoile County is as charming as New England can get with beautiful small towns, farms, mountains, tiny roads and lakes. Enjoying the outdoors is just a step away. Holly was available by email or phone every time we needed her. PS. The outdor shower is the best

    Carolina2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, our dog Peter, and I had a wonderful week at the Eden cabin. The cabin was very nice and had every amenity we could have asked for including a couple I wish we had at home (ice maker and awesome outdoor shower). The spot was better than I had ever hoped for. Beautiful lake frontage, absolute privacy, and a huge west facing deck to catch the afternoon sun. We never saw our host during our stay but knew she was just a phone call away if we had needed anything. On our arrival we found fresh cut flowers, a clean and well stocked cabin, endless supply of firewood for the beach side fir pit, and a sweet and much appreciated welcome gift. I did meet the care taker on the last morning as we were preparing to leave whom asked if I had ant recommendations on how to make the cabin better. Honestly I could not think of one thing I would change. This was our first stay at an Air BNB rental and I had tempered my expectations but Hollys cabin was a more enjoyable vacation than most we have taken at a quarter of the expense. Thank you!

  • Paul and Kayle are the unicorn of AirBnB! They have managed to achieve the cleanliness, amenities, and comfort of a hotel AND the warmth and hospitality of a bed and breakfast. If you are a business traveler, look no further: Their home is perfect, with wifi plus private and spacious bathroom (including a washer and dryer!). Want to ski at Stowe? You are just a couple of miles from the lifts. Nature lover? There are moose, deer and other wildlife on their very beautiful and expansive property, which boasts an amazing apple orchard in full abundance at the time of my visit. Got an appetite? Their home is just a short drive from Vermont's most relaxed and delicious Italian restaurant -- and inexpensive! Did I mention the sunset and bonfire in the back yard? We sat and talked for hours on the night of my arrival. I had every intention of going right to bed, but the thought of missing the experience was more than I could bear. It turns out to have been the most enjoyable evening of my Vermont trip. I can't say enough about these fine and decent hosts or about their wonderful and welcoming home. Coffee the next morning on the terrace was a gift. I drank two large mugs...or was it three? If this home is available, do not hesitate. A stay with Paul and his charming wife are one of AirBnB's bright spots. Enjoy!

  • Paul and Caylee’s home was absolutely perfect for our weekend trip from Boston. They were very communicative, welcoming, and kind from the moment we placed our reservation and through our arrival/throughout our stay. The house is on a beautiful property with many trails sprawling out into the property. Our favorite part was the fire pit and Adirondack chairs in the backyard that were open for our use the whole night - it felt like we were at a campfire in the woods. The house itself is located just 15 minutes or so from Stowe and after a long day of exploring, their house was the perfect place to relax for the night and play board games. All the appliances and amenities in the house were brand new and worked perfectly (washer, dryer, microwave, etc) and they even set out a nice breakfast spread for us to enjoy on the patio overlooking their property. The decorations were very thoughtful and gave the house the perfect touch - we visited in October to see foliage and there were beautiful autumn-themed decorations throughout the house. We would love to come back for Christmas for the same warm and cozy feel. Perfect for couples and even families with young children! Thanks Paul and Caylee, we will be back!!

  • My fiancée and I decided to visit Vermont during the Columbus weekend for the foliage. We found Paul's house and everything was perfect since the very first moment we arrived there. Paul's place has a big backyard with a lot of trees, where you can appreciate all of the foliage colors during the season. Paul set some trails throughout his yard so one can walk and enjoy a view and pick some apples during the apple picking season. We even saw a pink sunset from his deck, it was lovely! The neighborhood is quiet, calm and beautiful. It is perfect for a get away from the city! The house is a few minutes away from the Green River Reservoir where one can go kayaking or boating. Paul and his wife made us feel very comfortable and at home. Every corner of the house was thoughtful, the decorations are beautiful, they have great taste. Our room even had a telescope, a pair of binoculars and games such as uno and monopoly, ideal for the rainy days. The internet connection is quite strong. We streamed a movie with no problem at all. They prepared some treats for us such as bagels and cream cheese, delicious doughnuts and pastries, excellent coffee, cereals, orange juice, bottled water, etc. They also let us used their kitchen, which by the way is amazing!! They have all the utensils one may need and more! I miss that kitchen. They also asked if we needed something whenever they went to the supermarket. Paul prepared us a fire bond during the nights, which was great. We took our dinner there and enjoyed the sky full of stars. Overall, Paul and his wife are great! The place is super recommendable and we will definitely think of returning there. It may be a lovely place for the Holidays and/or the sky season as well.

  • Dave's place exceeded our expectations. The setting was beautiful, the cabin was immaculate and Dave was a fantastic host. We enjoyed hiking, swimming, picking mushrooms and fishing all right outside our door. The proximity to grocery and drug stores while still feeling remote was a plus for my husband and I who were traveling with our 18 month old. Dave offered lots of excellent advice on where to find good food, beer and hiking. Highly recommend.

  • What a great place to get away. David's attention to detail made our stay very enjoyable.

  • The Cherry House was beautiful, very clean, and extremely comfortable. I thought it was very cool that the house ran on Solar Power and David was kind enough to briefly show us how it works. David is a great host and enjoyed meeting him and talking to him. It's a great place to stay at and David does a great job making sure everything you need is there. There is nice hiking to do on the land and in nearby towns, there are some nice little towns around, and Burlington is a great place to visit for shopping and good food. (4) of us fit comfortably.

    Angelo2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabinet surrounded by beautiful woods. David was friendly and generous with his time and his beer. Best equipped kitchen of any airbnb we.have used. Great snowshoeing trails.

  • Our stay at the Cherry House this past weekend for my husband's 30th birthday was perfect. David was an amazing host - super friendly, reliable and available whenever we needed him. The house was beautiful - it had everything we needed and more, and was perfectly clean. We loved our experience and would highly recommend. The house is just far enough out of town for a quiet, cottagey feel; but close enough to Stowe and the mountains for access to anything you may way to do in the area. We loved the property and hiking trail right out the back door, and felt so comfortable all weekend. Many thanks to David for the perfect weekend getaway!

    Shane2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place and we (4 adults and 2 kids) loved it. David is a great host. Place has a beautiful sunroom where we lounged in the mornings having breakfast and coffee. The place is beautifully decorated and furnished and kitchen is fully stocked with all the local goodies. Thanks David!

    Ragu2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Solar House was the perfect retreat from the city for us. We came to Vermont for my husband's 40th bday with our two daughters to escape urban life and enjoy some of the famous Vermont breweries. David was an amazing host and left a great Vermont starter kit for us (cheese, beer - including a can of the world famous heady topper!, cider, coffee, half and half etc) which made our first day there super easy. He gave us an orientation to the property and tons of great tips on where to eat / drink / hangout. The house itself was the perfect size for us and we loved being able to sit on the deck for meals and grill burgers - my daughter especially loved being able to run free in the grass and relax on the hammock. We wanted to do a campfire one night which David set up for us - we walked down to the pond and the fire was already roaring with extra firewood and marshmallow sticks ready to go - such a nice setup - it was really fun and amazing - he was very nice and fun with our toddler as well - even had a few fish he caught in a bucket to show her close up and then released them back into the pond. David takes such pride in maintaining the property (Pond, hiking trails, etc) and it shows. We definitely took advantage of the hiking trails and hanging out by the pond where there's a great little roped off swimming area for kids. Location wise, you're about 20 min outside of Stowe and about 40min from Greensboro (Hill Farmstead) but there are groceries stores, a CVS, etc about 5 minutes away so for us it was the perfect location. Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for on this vacation, we will definitely be back.

  • The Cherry House was perfect for our group of five. Easy access to Stowe and Burlington (and Hill Farmstead if you're into brewery visits). David was a wonderfully thoughtful and welcoming host and responded to all messages in advance within hours. We hung out inside and outside around the property and felt totally relaxed the whole time. Nice grill and table out on the deck to look at the mountains and stars. The land the house sits on is gorgeous. while we didn't go into the pond, that spot alone is worth staying at David's. Thanks and hope to return!

200 feet of lakefront on beautiful Lake Eden, a crystal clear lake. Remodeled cottage and small guest house, will comfortably accommodate 2 families. Four boats for your use, a kyak, canôe, sunfish, and paddle boat. Gradual slope to lake.
There is a remodeled main house, plus a separate building called the Kids Camp. The teenagers especially love having this place all their own!
This is the backside, the quiet side of Lake Eden. Listen to the loons, not the traffic!
  • We had a wonderful time at Sue's cozy Vermont cottage. Sue could not have been more welcoming and gracious. You can tell she loves this place! It was chilly a couple of nights but Sue made sure we had plenty of wood and the woodstove was easy to use. Our girls loved the boats. It is so nice to have those available for use. And the kids' camp was a hit. We appreciated the flexible check in and check out. We ended up not needing that flexibilty, but still much appreciated. Also liked that we were not charged a $150-$200 cleaning fee since we are in the habit of leaving the places we stay as we found them. The girls will remember fondly their long weekend at Lake Eden!

  • We arrived in the late afternoon over the holiday. Everything was set up and prepared for us. We slept well and in the morning awoke to a beautiful view of the mountains. We went skiing/snowboarding the next day at Bolton, which had many slopes open, very good conditions for so early in the year.

  • Patrick was a great host. He made us feel really welcome and comfortable. We were planning on canoeing and when he had to wait around until 2pm for the rain to stop, he was really accommodating and made us feel really comfortable in his home. He was generous in sharing his home and his belongings, made great coffee in the morning and we really enjoyed our time with him. Highly recommended.

  • We had a great weekend! Patrick is accessible and helpful, the home was clean and in a great location.

  • We spent a night at Patrick's place and were overwhelmed by the beautiful views, cleanliness, and great communication. Though our conflicting schedules didn't allow us to meet, Patrick continued to reach out to us and was very helpful throughout our stay. The home was far enough away to feel a sense of peace and seclusion but not so far that it took long to get to where we needed to be. Beautiful night sky was a huge bonus as we're from Boston and don't get that luxury often. Thanks again Patrick- glad we could bring some good weather!

  • Lisa and Mary's home was beautiful inside and out! They were wonderful, friendly hosts and were able to recommend some great places to see (great brewery recommendations - Lost Nation was awesome) and hike. We also ended up having a flat tire which deflated overnight, but they noticed in the morning and helped us find a good shop to take care of it :) Their dogs and cat were adorable and affectionate as well! We loved our stay, and would highly recommend their place!

  • Lisa and Mary were wonderful hosts! The house is located on a hill with a beautiful view. It is quiet and the room is great! I was a little worried about the dogs in the beginning as we had our 1 year old with us but I had no reason to be. They are incredibly calm and were happy to be scratch and screeched at by my daughter. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!!!

  • The house was exactly as the pictures described and even nicer cause there aren't pictures of everything. Lisa was there to greet us and show us how to work the wood stove and the dynamics of the house. Hot tub was really nice Inspite of the freezing weather!!

    Adam2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just the pet-friendly and well-maintained ski retreat we were looking for. Plenty of space for 5 adults and the 2.5 baths meant there was always a bathroom available. Lisa was always close by if we had a question and the driveway was plowed every night there was snow. The house is located about 30 mins from Stowe. Might not be the best option for people with cat allergies. Highly recommended!

    James2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house was beautiful and Lisa was an amazing host! It's in a great location-- about 30 minutes or so to Stowe which is where we went skiing. I recommend getting a car with 4 wheel drive; our rental was not and Lisa could not be more helpful in directing us where to go and what to do. We got to meet Hudson and Bree which was worth the stay alone! At this house you can enjoy the beauty of Vermont and be in your own little Oasis.

    Jill2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Mary's place is fantastic. The pictures are 100% accurate and the amenities are wonderful. The central location is great for skiing/snowboarding, visiting breweries, hiking and other outdoor activities, and day trips to Burlington or Montpelier. Lisa and Mary could not have been nicer or more helpful. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful during check-in and throughout our stay. We look forward to coming back again at some point!

  • Lisa was so accommodating and helpful through a series of unusual requests (we rented her house for my sister as a surprise gift and so she wasn't able to be in communication in advance with the people actually staying in the house). She could not have been easier to work with and my sister loved the trip. The house was (apparently) amazing -- quiet and romantic, while also being very convenient, just a short drive away from town and everything they needed. We would absolutely rent from her again -- ideally for us next time!

  • This is an amazing find in north central Vermont. It is better than the pictures. The house is incredibly cozy and the beds were so comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful. This is the best Airbnb we have stayed in, and we are planning to come again

    David 2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nicer than the pictures on all accounts. It was very clean, the fireplace was very toasty, the hot tub is great after a day on the mountain, and there was plenty of towels and linens. Lisa was very accommodating and made our first AirBnB trip very easy. The morning view of the mountains out of the giant windows in the front of the house is a nice treat to wake up to as well.

    Dan2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a wonderful host with a beautiful home. The cabin is perfectly located. It is far enough from the town where you can feel as if you're peaceful oasis in the woods but close enough to easily enjoy Stowe, the slopes, etc.... There are many beautiful trails literally from the back of the house for hiking. Lisa has the house stocked up with anything you may need: kitchen supplies, games, booster seats, you name it! We would highly suggest staying here.

  • Carole and Tom's farm cabin is delightfully located with gorgeous views of hills and wildflowers! The cabin itself is very clean and well-equipped (two comfortably appointed bedrooms and a pull-out sofa ready with sheets). The kids enjoyed watching the goats frolic about in the morning. Tom and Carole are very helpful and considerate hosts. We would love to come back here again!

    Randal2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage of Carole and Tom is very cosy and we spent a very great time there. Thank u a lot for a such great moment

    Clara2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This time it was just me staying for one night in the cottage. Everything was just as advertised and Carole is a wonderful host.

    Melissa2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was absolutely wonderful for our overnight stay. Carole had the heat turned up so the house was warm when we arrived. Everything was exactly as listed!

    Chaney2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much for the pleasant stay at the Cottage! It really has a nice scenery and the inside is very charming! We loved to cook there and enjoyed the board games! Could have stayed longer!

    Karsten2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carole was helpful in giving us info prior to check-in and was extremely flexible about our late night arrival. Her property sits in an idyllic Vermont landscape. Loved the animals around the farm as well. Beautiful horses! The cottage had all the basics and was comfortable for six adults to stay for an overnight (though if staying longer I'd probably keep it to four adults).

    Juliana2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Carole is a great host, and her place is great for a visit to Stowe. The house was very clean and just as described. Got to see her goats and horses too!

They are well-stocked and very comfortable. Jennifer and Craig are so easy to work with and communication was timely and accurate. Highly recommend! We had an amazing time and loved ending each day in their cozy cabin.

This very private 4 bedroom, 1½ bathroom home is nestled in the woods and close to Johnson State College, three ski areas, several microbreweries and restaurants, and the Vermont Studio Center.
This place is ideal for visiting friends and family, skiing at Smugglers Notch(25min)/Stowe(30min)/Jay Peak(45min), or if you simply want to get the quintessential New England experience. The rustic house has everything you need for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, including a living area, bathroom with shower and bathtub, functional kitchen, wood stove, hardwood floors, washer/dryer, a lot of open space and it is full of natural light. With trails abound just outside the door, this house has wonderful surroundings to explore that can be accessed via cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, walking, or trail running. Although it sits in a secluded area, the house is not far from town and is the perfect spot to enjoy all Vermont has to offer. A spring well provides fresh, cold drinking water right from the tap and adds to the rural New England experience.  My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, group vacations, families with kids, and pets are welcome too.
  • We had a lovely time at K's. We were instantly comfortable and felt at home. The home was very clean, quiet, and family friendly with baby gates on all the stairs which was important for my toddler. We especially enjoyed the 3rd floor bdrm which was like sleeping in a tree house. It was also a sweet surprise to be treated with local fresh bread and the pantry was filled with all those things we forgot like coffee and OJ for the morning!

    Jennifer2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • K's place was great. nicely described in a great inviting town. would recomend to others

  • We were a group of friends and we truly enjoyed our stay at K’s house. We loved the vintage furniture and the cozy atmosphere of the house. Moreover, the place is really clean, the kitchen is well equiped and the local and bio products provided by K were a nice addition to our Vermont experience. The porch is perfect for the apero and the BBQ exceed our expatations - clean and powerfull! ;) The communication with K was easy and we had all the informations we needed. We are looking foward to our next stay in the private house in the wood! :)

  • Our stay at the house was fantastic! We loved waking up to the tree tops. All the windows, the tranquility of the space! Kay was a phenomenal host, she helped direct us to a great hiking spot in the area and was super helpful with any questions. We loved our stay! We were 5 and had more than enough space. Hope to get to come back in the near future!

  • This house is gorgeous. It is beautifully upholstered in rich colors has an excellent lay out. We were three couples and there was ample room for all of us. The blueberries were so delicious.

Our home is close to Johnson State College, three ski areas, Microbreweries, The Long Trail, and the Vermont Studio Center. We have great country and mountain views . We live on the Gihon River which is great for trout fishing and leisurely tube floats. You can hear and see the roaring waterfalls from our property. Very quiet country road with a beautiful covered bridge within walking distance. Close to new Rail Trail for biking and walking. My place is good for couples and families (with kids).
This home is approximately 3,000 square of beautiful living space . Plenty of Windows to provide natural lighting and views. All bedrooms have closet space available as well as a large entryway with plenty of cubby and closet storage. It is very quiet and private in the back yard with bird feeders that will provide plenty of entertainment from our feathered friends! You might catch a glimpse of the deer that share our property when they come to nibble on our apple trees. There are organic apple trees as well as organic blueberry bushes on the property. If you come at the right time you may help yourself!
The home sits back off the road so it has minimal road noise. There is plenty of privacy from the neighbors though everyone on our road is very friendly! If you come in the spring you can walk to the sugar house and have a fresh sip of real maple syrup! The owners love to have visitors and explain the process of making maple syrup. You can leisurely walk down the country road end where a historic covered bridge spans the Gihon River. We can provide information on local walks and hikes and give you directions to the beautiful, secluded gorge just up the river!

Celia and Barry are such a great host, they have a beautiful home and fully equipped with everything we need. They provided great suggestions for itinerary and even printed out the guide for us. We will definitely love to visit again.

  • We loved our stay at the cabin! The space was incredibly restful and welcoming. We were really impressed from the moment we walked in. We had everything we needed and more for both indoor and outdoor comfort. It felt secluded and quiet, but still close to markets and restaurants and plenty of scenic spots. The whole area is beautiful (we particularly enjoyed Moss Glen Falls). Jennifer was very communicative prior to our stay and made sure we had what we needed. We intend to come back for perhaps a longer stay next time!

  • This place was a total find! Nestled back in the woods - but not so far back as to feel totally remote - Jennifer and Craig’s cabin was new, nicely appointed, and more spacious than we expected. Very comfortable accommodations, a beautiful setting, and hospitality that went above and beyond when Craig fired up his tractor on a 5-below-zero morning to help me with a car issue! We’ll stay here again when in the area.

  • We stayed 2 peaceful nights in cabin 3 and absolutely loved it. The cabin contained everything we could possibly need and then some and the surroundings were serene. We left inspired and energized. Dave and Lucie

    Lucie2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The serene country cabin was wonderful! It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. It was very clean, updated, and nicely decorated. The fall decorations inside and outside of the cabin were also a nice extra touch. The location is very quiet (we have a dog who has noise anxiety), secluded, and surrounded by beautiful woods. The other few cabins are close by (~100-200ft away) but not problematic at all. It felt very private and quiet. It was also very convenient to get to Stowe. The bed and bedding were comfortable, nice fluffy towels, hot water and good pressure, a comfortable futon, plenty of windows to enjoy the surrounding views with shades to pull down, and plenty of amenities (small fridge, dinning set, microwave, coffee pot, etc). There is also a picnic table outside, fire pit, and grass area which is perfect for walking the dog in. Jan and Craig were very easy and fast with communication. It was so wonderful to find a dog friendly, clean, and serene place. We will definitely be returning :)

Charming house built in the early 1800's located on picturesque Craftsbury Common, Vermont. Your double room has a private 1/2 bath attached to your room and a 3/4 bath down the hallway. If you'd like a private living room with a Rumford fire place, you may additionally book "The Winter Room" which is adjacent to your bedroom. Craftsbury is safe, charming and gorgeous year-round! If it's too weathery for your liking enjoy a 52" TV with Netflix in your bedroom.
Within walking distance (all under a 20 minute walk) are the town's two county stores, the public library, a school playground, and the cross-country trails of the Craftsbury Outdoor Center where many Olympic athletes train. Within a 5 to 20 minute drive there are multiple lakes to choose from that are glorious for swimming, kayaking, sculling, walking around and picnicking. In winter ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are fantastic. Our house is nestled in next to the incredible environmental stewardship school of Sterling College (Only 120 very quiet and awesome students!) Greensboro Vermont is a 15 minute drive from Craftsbury and is home to the world award winning brewery Hill Farmstead, world award winning Cellars at Jasper Hill (cheese) and a brilliant performing arts center.
Sometimes, if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Sterling students taking horses, sheep, or oxen for a stroll, right outside your front door. (Not kidding ...!) In the backyard of our home there are often gigantic draft horses, goats, oxen, sheep and a couple very friendly kitties. Although they are not our animals we enjoy having them as part or our view!
  • The house is very well described, convenient to craftsbury common-Anne- Marie went out of her way to escort my parents to their next stop.

  • Ann-Marie's place provides a great holistic Craftsbury experience - her hospitality mimics the local culture, it is in a 200 year old house and its location is central to all things Craftsbury (Outdoor Center, Common, General Store and Sterling College). Very cool. The snow fall with its feel of the holiday season was an added bonus. I look forward to staying at Ann-Marie's again!

This sanctuary in the Green Mountains of Vermont is perfect for a self-guided creative retreat. I know because this is my home and I have spent a lot of my energy intentionally creating an environment that would make me feel like I was on retreat and could be creative. While I am not there, I want others to enjoy that same gift. In addition to a lovely home w/woods, stream + views, you'll have access to a big studio space for painting, writing or whatever YOUR creative heart desires.
This space is ideal for individuals, couples or friends who want self-reflective, creative time. There are 2 bedrooms - one with a king bed and a half bath with an old clawfoot tub, the other with a double bed and eclectic library. There is a common full bath with shower in the upstairs hall, as well as a dedicated yoga/meditation room. Downstairs has a formal dining room, cozy living room with a screened in porch off the side, full kitchen available for your use, and THE STUDIO SPACE. Walk in the woods, sit by the stream, cook nourishing food, meditate or do yoga, let a vast selection of books inspire you, and most importantly - give your creative self the space and time to explore and express. I want you to feel about my home the way I do. Revel in the incredible gift nature flings upon you from every window, regardless of season. Cozy up with a book, cook up a storm, be whimsical, just go into the studio office and PLAY. Luxuriate in a big bed with lots of pillows, sink into the old tub, attend to your body and spirit in the yoga room. Or DO NOTHING. Stretch out in the living room and read all day, because maybe your body/soul just needs to REST. So much to experience, or not. Just rest, relax, revel, reveal, recover, re-create, renew. You know what to do.
There are neighbors on 1 side of the property and across the road but they are not visible as the property is surrounded by trees. You'll have complete privacy but you're not alone!
  • Great home settled back in the woods. Perfect distance from Stowe and Jay Peak.

This one bedroom waterfront guest cabin is located on Great Hosmer Pond in the beautiful town of Craftsbury Common, Vermont. The cabin has access to the cross country ski trails of the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Swimming dock on property with access to a canoe. The cabin is made of double tongue and grooved red western cedar. The cabin is available year round except for 'mud season'.

  • Kathy was very welcoming and clear with directions and check-in/check-out information. Both Kathy and her husband Ted were very friendly and accommodating and lovely to talk to. They were not intrusive and gave us plenty of privacy. The property was beautiful and the cabin was perfect for our one night stay – it had anything we could have needed!

    Alex2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, but i don't think these owners are used to having strangers on their property. They were rude and aggressive toward my wife and 7month daughter for no reason. It was a terrible experience.

    Debbie2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The quiet is only broken by the sound of loons - how lovely. The cabin is located on the pond and the dock is shared with the owners. I swam the evening we arrived and then again in the morning before we left. The water was perfect - great temp and super clean. This is a great, quiet, rustic retreat and the hosts are very kind and responsive.

    Dora2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Ted's lovely cabin is a tranquil oasis by the water. Getting to the cabin was complicated because of lack of cell service and the gate with all the no trespassing signs kind of through us for a loop. In large part, that was due to not seeing the entre instructions Kathy sent. Please read the directions thoroughly to make it to the cabin. Once you are there you will find a lovely rustic cabin by the water and you'll be glad you made the drive! My fiancé and I were looking for a peaceful weekend retreat to celebrate our 9 year dating anniversary and to relax after a very busy working season. The cabin is stocked with every amenity you may need and the wood stove is lovely. We woke up early to watch the sunrise over the lake and used the canoe to paddle out on the misty water. If you are looking for a calming getaway in the mountains of Vermont, this is the place for you. One thing is that the bed is a little short. I just fit my 5'2" body on the bed, but my 6'2" fiancé had his entire feet from mid-calves down dangling over the edge. I found it amusing, but he didn't feel the same way. :) Kathy's photos do not do the cabin justice. Bring some hot chocolate, a good book, and someone you love for this peaceful outdoorsy retreat.

Kathy and Ted were great hosts, very available for questions and with wonderful knowledge of the area. I hope to return!

Tannenhaus is situated centrally to skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking and so many other activities. Its only a 10 minute walk to Journey's End swimming hole, 1 mile to Johnson State College, 1.5 miles to Vermont Studio Center. Its a 20 minute drive to Smugglers Notch, 25 min to Stowe and 45 min to Jay Peak. The house is the perfect size for couples or small families looking for a quiet getaway in the hills of Vermont, just 1.5 miles from the village and its restaurants and shopping.
Tannenhaus is a fully furnished, cozy house tucked away in a quiet wooded neighborhood in the hills above Johnson village, in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. It has a generous open floor plan with kitchen, dining area and living room, and spacious full bath downstairs. One large (24' x 28') sunny master bedroom upstairs with two full-size beds. The walk-out basement facing the woods has a washer and dryer with room to dry clothes or fishing gear, store luggage, bicycles, or skis and snowshoes. We offer free WiFi, satellite TV, and washer and dryer.
Journey's End, a protected and conserved waterfall and swimming hole, is accessed directly from our property by a 10 minute walk along a path through the woods. It is on the Foote Brooke, which also offers excellent fly fishing opportunities (fishing licenses available at the Johnson town office). Tannenhaus is situated on a 3 mile dirt road loop that is very popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists. The route follows the Foote Brook, offering more swimming holes, and rises to a hilltop farm of wide open fields and spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Green Mountains. History fans will enjoy a stop along the way to explore a historic town cemetery. A quick drive or a 30 minute walk downhill brings you into Johnson village to explore the local shops and galleries of the Vermont Studio Center, or to stock up at the supermarket, or organic Farm Stand just outside of town. Turning uphill it is a quick drive or comfortable walk to the Center for America's First Horse, an equine sanctuary dedicated to the preservation of the original Spanish Mustangs that were brought here by the Spanish Conquistadors. Their herd is the largest of its kind in all of the United States; visitors are always welcome. But most of all, we invite our guests to spend some time in the spacious backyard and lovingly created gardens. Our daylily garden is ablaze with color from June through September and we carefully provide an environment for pollinators, wild birds, squirrels, and other critters.
  • Renate's cottage is a cozy hideaway in the middle of beautiful Vermont scenery. Renate was very kind, helpful, and easy to reach. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!

  • We had a lovely stay for two. Highlights included getting to know Billy the cat, enjoying the waterfall and swimming hole just a 15 minute walk away (if that), being surrounded by gorgeous woods, right next door to an elegant teahouse. This cottage was just what we wanted and needed for a getaway weekend -- thank you!

  • We recently stayed at Tannenhaus, Renate and Glenn's cottage/house rental in Johnson, VT. First, it was well kept and clean. The hot water was plentiful and pressure was strong. The house and the property were downright adorable. To say it was charming would not do it justice. We loved it. For tea and the most delicious homemade cakes, just walk over to Renate and Glenn's Tea House. There was even a picturesque and very quiet swimming hole within walking distance. We loved the location. Right in Johnson, you have a wonderful grocery store, an excellent cafe, and many other amenities for this small town. It was a short drive to all of the tourist destinations we wanted. Needless-to-say, our next trip to Vermont will be based on Tannenhaus availability. We highly recommend this Renate and Glenn's Tannenhaus rental. It's a great value for an exceptional stay.

  • We had such a lovely stay!! Our wonderful hosts, Renate and Glenn, were so hospitable and provided really good information on local art and activities. Renate is an exceptional baker and was kind enough to surprise us with an assortment of goodies! The house is charming, clean and very comfy. The location is close to the LVRT, to hiking trails and to Stowe, yet was quiet and lovely for viewing stars at night around a campfire. Check in and out was a breeze. Will definitely stay again when we get back to Vermont!

  • Cozy, clean and comfortable- exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely return.

  • Renate's place is conveniently located nearby several awesome ski resorts. The house was perfect for my two brothers and I to relax after long days on the slopes!

  • Our second stay was as enjoyable as the first! Renate and Glenn have had a rescue cat in house during our last two stays. Since we love animals, being introduced to "Billy" was a treat. It added to our home away from home experience. But if you aren't up for that type of connection, it will not be imposed upon you. Dropping my teen off to freshman year at college was, as expected, a proud and a poignant moment. Returning to Tannenhaus was a welcome part of this time. Pulling into the private driveway felt like home, and seeing Renate and Glenn again was wonderful. They are always gracious and accommodating. If you are wanting an exceptionally clean and inviting place to stay, with exceptional hosts, and 100% better than the typical hotel accommodations, this is it. Close to Morristown (Morrisville) 7 miles for great pizza and your standard shopping, and not far from Stowe @ 16 miles, with all the interesting stops along the way.

  • This is soon to be a hard place to book. The location is fantastic tucked away in the green mountains yet close to local town shops for quick buys, as well as only about an hour or less to Burlington, Montpelier, and Stowe. Cant forget about the Tea House on premises for local teas and homemade pastries. Renate and Glenn are the best hosts you could ask for going above and beyond to deliver quality hospitality. Part of our stay included getting to know Billy the cat which in addition to the amenities truly solidified the home away from home experience. The space itself was very clean and decorated nicely, has many suggestions on things to do via pamphlets and everything works as expected. Renate and Glenn have created a space of real value of which we can hopefully experience again in the near future.

The Sugar House on Maple Hill Road was once the site of a traditional Sugar House. The post and beams, wooden ceiling boards, 26 foot ceiling enhances the interior beauty. The house sits on 7 acres of woods with a small stream. Stowe Mountain Resort, The Trapp Family Lodge, Smugglers Notch, Long Trail, are just a few of the near by points of interest. Other activities near by include biking, fly fishing, golf, the Rail Trail. Stowe, Morrisville , Johnson, Hyde Park are just minutes away.
The entire Main Floor, Upper Loft, Deck Backyard and Woods are there for your use. The basement apartment has year round renters. Make sure you leave your sheets, bedding and towels at home. The Sugar House on Maple Hill Road provides these items.
Our house is located in a wooded, country housing area. Most of the lots are 3 1/2 acres, our house is on approximately 7 acres. By turning right out of our drive way it is 1 mile to Johnson by gravel / paved road. Or by turning left it is 2 miles to Johnson by aced road. We are about 9 miles to Stowe, and 4 miles to Morrisville.
  • Very nice, clean place as described. A few miles away from Stowe, but perfect value for the price. Description was perfect on everything. Highly recommend this place.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Walter's place. We had a very late check-in and Walter was accommodating and made that process super easy. The place is clean, beds are comfy, and although newly renovated maintains a very rustic feel. We enjoyed exploring the nature, breweries, and food in the nearby Stowe and Waterbury areas. We recommend this place to anyone staying in this area in the beautiful state of Vermont!

  • This place is absolutely beautiful. The pictures really don't do it justice. We had a great stay here, and our host was very attentive to whatever we needed if we had questions. My group and I loved our trip, and we would love to come back again.

  • Great get away from the city. Calm, spacious, warm (important in autumn/winter!). A great mix of ancient and modern. Near Long Trail, Mt Elmore and other hiking trails. Wood, mountains, great place to relax!

    France2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location in the woods! Walter’s attention to detail is evident, the house is even better than the pictures. Spotless clean, and comfortable. This was our first time using Air Bnb, and I have a feeling this one set the bar high. We really enjoyed our stay here as the rustic look, and feel reminded us of our own home. The foodie in me particularly loved cooking in the awesome kitchen that had everything neatly organized and easy to find.

  • Walters place is an amazing private home near from the town. It is very clean and amazingly organized from the inside. I would like to stay with family again.

  • I loved staying at this peaceful, restful log cabin. I stayed during August, and the weather was great. I wish I had more time to hike at Smuggler's Notch, which is not that far away. The log cabin is not far from Main Street Johnson, VT and only 30 minutes away from Stowe, VT. The neighbors are friendly, and I felt right at home. I could not have had a more restful stay. John (the owner) allowed me full access of this quaint and cute log cabin. I would definitely consider staying again!

  • John was an amazing host with an amazing home! I thoroughly enjoyed my two days there, especially the hot tub and his super friendly cat. John was very welcoming and took good care of me, even clearing snow off my car the day I left. His place is well situated and gives esay access to many of Vermont's best outdoor activities. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

  • John was a very helpful host. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time spent in Johnson. John was knowledgeable about where to go and also suggested a bunch of activities. The location was easy driving distance to Stowe Smuggs and Jaye Peak. Since the temperatures rarely got out of the single digits, the hot tub was a big plus. Looking forward to coming back again.

  • John is an excellent host. He was welcoming accommodating. As a 1st time user of Air B and B I was a little unsure of how the interactions with the host would work. John's graciousness dispelled all of my concerns. The cabin and room were even better than I expected. Ale(URL HIDDEN)
