“Terry Hershey Park is a county park that runs parallel to a roughly 6-mile (9.7 km) stretch of the Buffalo Bayou in western Houston, Texas. The park is named after Terry Hershey, a conservationist who campaigned to keep the banks of Buffalo Bayou from being paved.[3][4] The park hosts a network of trails that run along the bayou from State Highway 6 to the Sam Houston Tollway and is a popular destination for local residents, runners, bicyclists and Geocachers.”

“Don't go here, this is my bar, it's a secret place, only known to those who discover it during a late night foray into unknown lands. This is my favorite place in Houston. Every night of the week a different live band plays on the relatively small stage in this fine old tavern. There's nothing pretty about this place, since the only two things they seem to care about are the bar and the stage, which provide great selection/service and entertainment respectively. Tucked away in a nondescript building almost hidden from view, those who enter its doors at night are treated to some of the best blues, jazz, and rock and roll the American South has to offer. The music generated by these veterans of the road will restore you soul, quicken your heart, and bring a shy man to sing. ”
