Restaurant
“Located on beautiful Waterfront Drive, Carnaval Brazilian BBQ is the only churrascaria restaurant in Winnipeg. Specializing in South American-style rotisserie, the restaurant offers picanha (sirloin cap), bacon-wrapped tenderloin and coxa de frango (chicken drum sticks). The experienced gaucho carvers cut and serve your meat at your table. Carnaval’s authentic menu is stacked with other traditional favorites, too, such as feijoada (black bean stew with pork and beef). Be sure to leave room for dessert—they come paired with a tasty after-dinner drink. ”

Night Club
“We were encouraged to try this night spot by a local columnist who included the Mitchell Block on his list of "comfort food" havens across Winnipeg. A night club with a menu? We had to check it out. We took our time heading up the steep stairs leading to this atmospheric night club on McDiarmid Street in the East Exchange. We were directed to seats in the bar section, rather than at one of the many empty tables (they were apparently all reserved). The sofa-style chairs were far apart, and made conversation difficult. The underwhelming mac'n cheese was the last thing on our mind as we concluded the evening with a promise to come back at a future date to try the the cocktails and dancing rather than the menu. Last visit: November 22, 2019. ”
