“The Old Firehouse is a big late night relaxed vibe bar a little off of the High Street. Open late, 3am over the weekends - serving pizza's late into the evening. Huge range of local Ale and Cider. Live music events throughout the week. Very warm and welcoming and a fantastic spot for a late night social evening. ”

“Perched on the edge of the historic Exeter Quayside, in a magnificent 19th-century warehouse. On the Waterfront serves a tempting choice of lunch and dinner dishes - from their well-renowned pizzas to fresh fish, meats, pasta and salads with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Gluten-free and vegan options also available.”

“A very worthwhile 20-30 min walk from the Quay (although you can also drive), this pub is great all year around. In the summer, you'll find many Extonians in the huge garden where you can throw down a blanket to sit on the banks, under the trees or on their benches with riverside decking. The BBQ shed is often open, or you can order homemade pub classics from inside the bar. In the winter, you can sit by one of the roaring fire places, order a roast and play board games. Or just read a book. Note, all food and drink must be purchased from the venue. But prices are reasonable and they do wicked homemade pork pies and scotch eggs!”

“Slightly off the beaten track this restaurant is worth the extra 5 mins walk from the main street in Exeter. Located just behind John Lewis, this place serves great, freshly cooked food...steaks to perfection! Mid range prices, business people & parents treating their Uni student kids can be seen enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. ”

“Really good burgers, American diner style in an informal, minimalist style restaurant with booth seating - costs about £15 per head for a meal and the quality is very good - be prepared to wait 30 minutes for a table but you can go along there, book a spot and then come back later.”

“The best. pizza. in. Exeter. Seriously. It is also vegetarian and vegan, but for ardent meat-lovers like myself, I never walked away from there regretting not having pepperoni on my pizza. There was no need, I think their pizzas are actually better for that very reason. Also, they have wonderful pasta dishes. Very friendly prices for budget savvy folks.”
