Paddleboard is a cosy little cottage with loads of character. This is a perfect, peaceful location right on the Menai Strait. Whether you want watersports, a spot of fishing, a stroll with the dog along the shore or just to kick back with a book, Paddleboard Cottage is an ideal spot. Located just 5 minutes away from the A55, Paddleboard is a perfect hub from which to explore the delights of Anglesey and Snowdonia. Moel y Don Cottage is also available here: https://airbnb.com/h/moelydon
Living Room is open plan upstairs with a simple well stocked kitchen: fridge with icebox, electric oven with gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle. Bedrooms are located downstairs and comprise of: 1 bedroom has a kingsize bed. 1 bedroom has two single beds. Bathroom is compact but has everything you need - shower over bath, sink, toilet, mirror and heated towel rail. The hot tub is available to rent at an extra cost of £35 for single use or £50 for the duration of your stay. We try our very best to be kind to our planet and have started by doing the following simple things: We were involved with the creation of the Plastic Free Anglesey campaign. We provide shampoo/conditioner/handsoap stored in refillable bottles and produced by a responsible local firm. The coffee/tea/sugar/treats are all fairtrade. Our laundry is all done by a local company, again using responsible methods. Power supplied to the house is sourced from renewables. We encourage all our guests to use our recycling facilities.
You can enjoy this tranquil haven and yet have buzz of Menai Bridge (renowned for great pubs and restaurants) Snowdonia National park and lots of golden sandy beaches within easy reach. Enjoy a sundowner on the decked terrace, or stroll down to the water's edge, enjoy the varied bird life, watch the tide ebb and flow or simply watch the fabulous sunsets bounce off the water. If you have a thirst for adventure then this area is an absolute must. Rib rides on the Straits (one of the best ways to see Anglesey by boat), surf in the mountains (really!), learn to kite board, go for a zip wire experience, do the tree top adventures, or visit the many National Trust houses - take your pick, it is all here and we can point you in the right direction. Hot tub rental available at £35/night or £50 for your stay.
  • We loved our stay at paddleboard. The perfect cosy place for a getaway. This is our third trip to paddleboard and I'm sure we will be back again! Nicki is an excellent host. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay x

  • We loved Paddleboard Cottage. The perfect location to explore beautiful Anglesey. Despite a wild and wet weekend, we were cosy and warm in the cute and beautifully styled cottage and even a managed some time in the hot tub looking at the gorgeous view over the Menai Straight. Nicki was indeed a super host. Thanks very much.

  • We loved our stay at Nicki's place. The little house was very clean and well furnished. The beds in particular were very comfortable. Nicki was extremely helpful and welcoming, without being intrusive. The property is in a lovely location with easy access to most places on the island.

  • Lovely place and ideal for a family holiday with a dog. Very welcoming hosts :)

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Paddleboard Cottage. The cottage itself is great: well-equipped, comfortable and clean, and in a great location for exploring the area. Nicki was really welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were staying there during Storm Ciara and Nicki very kindly braved the elements to come and check we were ok and to see if we needed any supplies to see us through the weather! We would definitely recommend Nicki and Paddleboard Cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area, and are hoping to return ourselves very soon!

  • Paddleboard Cottage is the ideal retreat if you love the natural world. It has the perfect location, off the beaten track but close to amenities. The clean interior is well laid out, not over fussy and has everything one could need. We enjoyed our trips out then returning to the comfort of Paddleboard Cottage. Nikki was an excellent hosts responding to emails and keeping us informed/updated. She let us know that we could arrive earlier than the stated time, this was handy in January. The Cottage was toastie warm and there was a lovely vase of tulips on the table. We will return to Paddleboard, we love Anglesey it has much to offer nature lovers.

  • A wonderful escape into rural peace and quiet! The bed was super comfy, the wood burner kept the barn warm even in the midst of a storm; full of character and we were made to feel very welcome. You would be hard pushed to meet anyone else as warm hearted, with all the rescue animals around. We explored beaches and walked up near Snowdon. A very special place!

  • What a wonderful stay! Perfect accommodations for our brief time in the area. The carriage house is lovingly restored and very comfortable. David is an incredibly gracious host. If he’s able to cook for you, highly recommend you take him up on the offer. The meal was amazing. Absolutely a very charming experience and recommend without hesitation.

    Christopher2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • David is a really friendly host, making extra effort to make sure we were comfortable despite very stormy weather e.g. making sure we had logs for the fire, keeping us stocked up with the basics and checking-in every so often to make sure we had everything we needed. We opted in for dinner on one of the nights and it was really lovely Would recommend for anyone looking to have a comfortable stay in Snowdonia, as the place is located perfectly for visiting mount Snowdon and the surrounding areas

  • Great atmosphere in an old spacious converted barn.

    Clare2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I stayed for four days. The location is stunning and just what we needed! It's a very cosy place and great with a real fire - perfect for a remote get away!

    Sarah2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and tranquillity. Clean, cosy, comfortable. Very private location with great scenery, gentle local walks, and the coast and drama of Snowdonia within a few miles. Having said this, except for a couple of early morning forays round the local lanes, we didn't budge from in front of the open fire, reading and doing jigsaws, stroking Charlie the ginger cat. Would return and would highly recommend.

    Michelle2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a visit to Snowdonia Park. I visited with two friends and we had plenty of space in a great old place. Pete was very welcoming. I would definitely visit this place again.

The Barn is situated in a stunning and idyllic location surrounded by nature, and yet within easy access to the Village and the start of the main Snowdon footpath. The Barn has been sensitively restored and maintains many of it's original features, including crog loft (upstairs sleeping area with limited head room, accessed via steep stairs) and exposed beam ceilings. The 7.5 acres of land are situated directly behind the barn. Close proximity to Zip World, Caernarfon, local beaches, and waterfalls
The Barn has been sensitively restored, and although it has a lot of it's original character, it is fully modernised with central heating and a modern, compact but fully functioning kitchen area. All towels and bed linen are provided. There is a mobile wireless internet at the property but sometimes the data allowance gets used up quite quickly - so I can’t guarantee that there will be WiFi durning your stay. However there is excellent 4G signal for most network providers There is also a selection of board games, books and lots of CDs to help keep you entertained :-))
  • Brilliant place Serena is a great host, the cabin is in a great location and was given directions. Definitely want to visit again.

    Tom2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I'd recommend arriving while it is still light as the approach road is a bit gnarly. You wouldn't manage it in a low profile sports car that's for sure! No problems in our 2012 Peugeot 3008 though. The accommodation is awesome, tucked away, cozy and warm with bags of character. Perfect place to start a hike in the hills and walking distance to Llanberis for food and drinks.

    Shaun2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was magical, a converted barn that felt like home. The space was full of thoughtful touches and comforting amenities. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay for longer. Would recommend to anyone!

  • It is a beautiful cottage, easy to find and well placed for walking and sightseeing. Olwen was very communicative, before and during our stay, offering lots of information and making sure we were managing during the storms.

    Robert2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quiet getaway from the craziness of Christmas and to spend New Year in our favourite place Wales. So glad we came across Olwen’s cosy cottage. The cottage is cozy and warm. The shower is hot and powerful. Everything we needed was at hand. Great for just hiding away and perfect location for getting around Snowdonia for a hiking break. There is a bus at the top of the road which we took to Rhyd-Ddu where we visited the Cwellyn Arms pub - open fire, great service and amazing food. Highly recommended! Close to the zip wire too which we had booked to do but was cancelled at the last minute due to high winds. So I guess we will be back !!

  • Small space, but as expected. Very cosy & warm at night (I’d take your own blankets etc.) Location perfect, very secluded and quiet, and close snowdonia. I’d go through daytime as could be hard to find at night & very steep hill going up towards the cabin.

    Molly2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was very clean and tidy with lovely touches and instructions on how to use the facilities. We was very impressed by the converted stables for the shower and toilet. The location was very secluded and peaceful would recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and quiet. On the way up the drive was a bit confusing but the host gave good clear instructions which made it a lot easier. we would definitely like to stay again in the summer :)

This comfortable, updated stone-built cottage is the ideal base for an adventurous break in the Snowdonia National Park. At the base of the Nant Peris Valley, one of the most dramatic in Britain, it is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon. The accommodation is great for one or two couples, or a small family. In our tiny village of Nant Peris we have a great local pub with ales, good food and an inglenook fire a stroll from your front door. Castles, beaches and adventures- Snowdonia has it all.
The ground floor is open plan. The lounge/diner area has a satellite TV and WIFI, although it's not the fastest! The area is centrally heated in cold weather and there is a log effect heater for any chilly evenings. Off the lounge/diner is the secondary sleeping area, with purpose built settee converting to a 6'6'' long double bed. The kitchen has an electric range style cooker with grill and fan ovens along with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with standard double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers etc. The bathroom is en-suite and has bath with shower over, basin/vanity mirror and toilet.
Nant Peris is a small village with a long history. It is much older than the nearby, larger village of Llanberis. We have no shop but we do have our Pub and 14th century church. For shopping,Restaurants etc a short drive or 25 minute walk gets you to Llanberis, which is also a centre for outward bound pursuits including climbing, canoeing, wild swimming, paddle boarding, triathlons and the list goes on... The Royal Town of Caernarfon with its World Heritage 13th century castle, Roman fort etc is easily accessible by bus or car and offers supermarkets and a larger range of shops, restaurants and so on. While here why not visit the REAL castle of Merlin the Magician, or a unique coastal hilltop stone age village-no entry fees !
  • Lovely place to stay in a fantastic location. Would stay again!

    Liz2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s hospitality, warm welcome and attentiveness was a great addition to our amazing time staying in Nant Peris for our Snowdon climb. Highly recommend this accommodation with an added bonus of a good old traditional boozer next door having great pub grub.

    Steven2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, well kept. Tom is very knowledgable about the local area and is a superb host.

    Will2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern and much more spacious than we expected very quite location but that’s what we wanted very neutral to explore the natural Beaty of Snowdonia thanks Tom for being a great host

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’d like to thank Tom so much for his hospitality during our stay in the cottage. We had a lovely time despite the weather being pretty awful, but it was a lovely break away. The cottage was pretty much what we had expected from reading the reviews and Tom couldn’t have been a better host. We really appreciated his quick responses to our messages and he was even kind enough to give us a lift into the village one evening to save on taxi fares. We weren’t able to get up Snowdon this time due to the weather but it is perfectly situated for it and we may be back in the summer! ☺️ There is WiFi however this can be a bit temperamental and slow, and with there being no signal, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to shut off the real world for a few days - although we did get signal just a few minutes drive away. There is a lovely little pub next door which do nice food and has a nice open fire! Overall we enjoyed our quiet break away and the cottage is nice and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and fabulous location. Tom lives right next door and is a wonderful host; there if you need him with speedy responses, but otherwise leaves you to it. Cottage is clean and homely with plenty of amenities. It's right next to a public footpath which trails being the property into beautiful views. Big supermarkets are about 20mins drive away, but there's a Spar in Llanberis which is 5 mins drive away. Thanks again Tom for a lovely stay!

    Eleanor2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ideally located place for climbing Snowdon and other walks around the area also easily accessed. The place itself has everything you could need and Tom personally showed where everything was and was around if we had any issues. A great place to stay!

Great views, fantastic walking and cycling in Snowdonia National Park, close to Llanberis, Caernarfon, Anglesey and the beautiful North Wales coast. Great for couples and small families. The annex is in a quiet rural area with outstanding views, stepping straight out into the beautiful Welsh countryside.
Originally a Welsh Long Barn, this is one of the oldest buildings in the village. Renovated to a very high standard, full of history and character but modern and functional. The lounge is dominated by a wonderful original fireplace, now equipped with a large wood burning stove. The exposed beams and full height ceiling, with additional windows, provide a bright, comfortable space. There is also underfloor heating and a backup electric radiator. In the lounge there is a sofa bed that could be used for additional guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large patio window that looks out to the patio area and beautiful countryside beyond. The bedroom is in the roof space with large windows that again make the most of the view. The bed is a double bed. There are large glazed panels that provide a view back to the lounge and roof windows that again make the space bright and comfortable. There is a separate, lockable store area for wet goods/ bicycles etc.
The accommodation is on the edge of Clwt-Y-Bont - a small village. There are no properties overlooking Cae Rhedyn and so it is very peaceful. Outstanding walking from the doorstep.
  • What can I say about this beautiful little spot. It’s everything you could ever want for a peaceful, stunningly beautiful break. The accommodation is awesome, and really cosy and super warm with the log burner going. We came to the area to walk in the snowdonia Park. But behind the Annex is a great little rugged area to explore with the dog, with streams and lots of wonderful welsh countryside. Tim has been spot on with all communication, and it was wonderful to find some little touches when we arrived such as welsh cakes, milk, eggs and bread. We will certainly be back!!!!!! It’s perfect.

A very unique cosy property converted from an old stone outbuilding. The cottage is on the bank of the Caseg river and surrounded by a quiet garden, providing an excellent retreat, while only 5 minutes walk from the amenities of the local village Bethesda. Take a local walk in the Ogwen valley, to Zip World or access climbing, walking, mountain biking and kayaking activities in Snowdonia directly from the cottage. A relaxing evening soak in the hot tub can be recommended.
The driveway leads to plenty of parking. A paved patio area with seating and BBQ / fire pit adjoins the garden with the river only 5m away. A storage shed for wet gear and equipment is next to the front door. Once inside, a compact kitchen comprises of a double hob, oven, kettle, toaster and fridge. There is seating around the table for four. The living and dining area then leads through to a double bedroom and separate wet shower room and toilet. The entire cottage has under floor heating. A large secluded hot tub can be enjoyed at the rear of the cottage next to the river.
The main house and cottage is set in a secluded, large, riverside garden. Bethesda town has many amenities - pubs, take aways, a small Tesco and Londis. It is possible to walk from the house almost without using any roads to complete leisurely local walks down to the river Ogwen, to Zip World (restaurant) or to access the Carneddi mountain range. Kayakers with experience can paddle from the garden down the Caseg river before joining the Ogwen, one of the best rivers for white water in Wales. More gentle water activities can be had on the lake at Llanberis and there are numerous wild swimming opportunities. We have a number of canoes and kayaks available to loan, but you do so at your own risk! Mountain bike trails are plentiful in the area, or quiet roads for those that prefer. Rock climbing and bouldering are easily accessed in the Ogwen or Llanberis Valley. For those that prefer, the beaches and surfing on Anglesey are only a 30 minute drive. North Wales has a wide range of tourist attractions for visitors of all ages, including castles, National Trust properties, Zip World, Bounce Below, Tree Tops, the Great Orme, Llanberis slate museum and Electric Mountain, The Greenwood Centre , Foel Farm and the Anglesey Sea Zoo all on our doorstep. Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and Llandudno all have great restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as theatres and cinemas.
  • Set with backdrop of Snowdonia hills and next to a little river. 5-10 min walk to local shops, cafes and pubs. Ideal for walks into Snowdonia, although due to the storms we didn't manage any. Hot tub was a best part! Clean, spacious and warm 😀 Already recommended to family and friends and we'll be back for sure.

    Elliott2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location by the stream, a good base for relaxing after a hike up Snowden or an action packed day at Zipworld. Great communications and having a private hot tub, to soak all your aches away is a total bonus.

    Andy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing two nights here, this place is honestly so lovely - the pictures don't it justice!!! The little cottage has everything you need and more, the hot tub is such a nice extra and the area is beautiful with very impressive waterfalls and right on the edge of snowdonia. Couldn't have asked for anything better and we are already looking into dates when we can come back in the summer!!

  • We stayed in this cosy little spot for 2 nights and we loved it. The space has everything you could need, a well equipped kitchen, a lovely fire to keep the place nice and cosy and an amazing bathroom. Garry was so nice and helpful and very quick to reply to any communications. The fire was lighting when we arrived and even though the weather was cold and stormy, we were more than comfortable inside. The place was private and the location is great for sightseeing around snowdonia. Perfect for a short getaway!

  • Bella is worthy of being in George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces! Lovely private area surrounding the van. Garry let us know about local walks when we arrived and ensured the firewood and coal was topped up for a lovely log fire, which was already lit before we arrived-thoughtful touch considering the dire weather! Would definitely recommend.

Recently renovated idyllic log cabin set in a semi- wooded rural location at the foot of Snowdon. The log cabin is accessed via a long private track. The cabin itself has an open plan kitchen - dinning and living room with a wood log burner There is a separate bedroom which is light and airy and you feel like you are outside. The beautiful village of Llanberis is a 10 min walk away with pubs, shops and restaurants. There is private off road parking and an outside area with garden furniture
The log cabin is unique space in a beautiful rural location surrounded by nature and bird song. The cabin is in a private location and is accessed via a private track. There is parking for a single vehicle and there is an outdoor garden area with table and chairs. The cabin is fully central heated with instant hot water
  • We had an amazing time at Serena's lodge cabin. The place is beautiful! Off the track, surrounded by trees, nature, and Snowdonia's beauty. The cabin itself was better than expected. It is spacious, super clean, and Serena cared about every single detail - she even put decorations, bords games, and DVDs for the guests. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can make some food before exploring Snowdonia or after the long way of walking around the Park. The fireplace was absolutely amazing, it was lovely to sit by it in the evening. The cabin is centrally heated and when we had some inquiries on changing the temperature or the time of the central heating operating, Serena immediately helped us with that. The communication with the Host was perfect. The cabin is located just a few minutes walk from the waterfall and it is a very good starting point for going to Snowdon. The experience was amazing, much better than staying in one of the cottages down in the village. If you need some privacy and love nature - I definitely recommend!

  • My partner and I had a fantastic time in this beautiful little cabin. It was so peaceful and the scenery was spectacular. Serena made life so easy thanks to her quick communication.

  • If you ever get the chance to visit the charming town if Llanberis do it! And if you do, stay at Serena’s cabin. If you love the outdoors you’ll love this combo. The cabin is so charming with everything you need of modern living to make it an amazing AirBnB.

  • Communication with Serena was very easy and replied quickly. The lodge is very cosy and location is perfect although would definitely recommend arriving before dark. Bed was very comfortable and once the fire was lit it warmed up quickly, although there is heating as well. Would definitely go back.

Good location - doesn’t come up on google maps when searched but we were given good directions by the hosts. The space was really clean and stylish. The hosts were lovely and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. There’s a really useful hand made guide book of things to do in the local area which is definitely worth a read. Would happily stay here again.

  • Great house, location and host. Be sure to get the check-in instructions before you arrive as we had some trouble contacting the host on the day. Nick was apologetic, and very helpful getting us settled in. Would definitely recommend staying here, and it was really cosy inside despite the terrible weather!

    Chris2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cute and homely. Log burner was lit for our arrival which was lovely. Towels provided. Everything we could wish for. Beautiful location.

  • This cottage was a perfect little base from which to do some lovely trips around the local area. As soon as we checked in we felt comfy and cosy. The fire was lit before we arrived which was a very welcome touch! The bed was very comfy, the shower/washroom was very spacious and the cottage itself was quite warm! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay!

This is a lovely twin room in a spacious house, on the outskirts of Tregarth village. Option of a 3rd mattress on the floor. The shared bathroom is close to the bedroom and the kitchen is available for tea and coffee, along with fridge space. Simple breakfast (cereal and toast) is available. The house is home to us, our son and our Jack Russel. Off road parking is available. Garden available for sunny evenings, or evening fires. Cycle track, cafe and a pub (no food) all within a 5 minute walk.
The spacious house is on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, and close to Zipworld, and other attractions. Anglesey is a short drive away. We are very close to the cycle track and a network of lovely footpaths. Pick up and drop off for the North Wales and Anglesey Coast path can be provided by prior arrangement. We have several walking, climbing, wild swimming and cycling guides and maps which you are welcome to borrow. We also have an acoustic guitar that you are welcome to use.
The area is very green, with trees and hills. There is a good bus service in to Bangor and the Ogwen Valley is a 5 minute drive away. The cycle track (Lon Las Ogwen) leads to Bangor in one direction and to Idwel Cottage (up the Ogwen valley) in the other. The area is a particularly good base for the attractions of Snowdonia and Anglesey, as well walking, climbing and water sports.
  • Would definitely stay again if that way, felt like a home from home.

    Anita2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I've had another pleasant stay with Ben and his family. I found everyone to be warm and welcoming as usual and I was even taught how to play backgammon! :)

    Chris2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I've had another pleasant stay at Ben's. It works well for me whilst I'm working in Bangor for a few days a week. The room is quiet - both from internal and external noise - Ben and his family make me feel welcome, the place is clean and comfortable, and we've yet to have any bathroom clashes. This is my third stay at Ben's and I'm planning on returning again, that in itself tells you a lot about the place and the hosts.

    Chris2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Ben's house. As with the previous stay, everyone in the household was friendly and made me feel welcome. The hosts provided more local knowledge of places where I could eat, factoring in my restrictive dietary choices. The bedroom is comfortable and quiet. Overall this is a nice place to stay

    Chris2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed another night at Ben and Jude's. Great hospitality as usual. Had a good rest. Others should take the room without hesitation. I'm a European certified assessor of quality. This place is good.

    Russell2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I found Ben to be friendly, warm, and welcoming. Ben gave me some good tips on where to eat locally. The bedroom was spacious and comfy and at night it was dark and quiet which was conducive to a good night's sleep

    Chris2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Jude have a really nice place. Hospitality was excellent. The shower....oh the shower... if anyone needs a really nice shower, this is where you'll find it - in a massive bathroom! Everything at the house is in order. I'd stay again. If you're thinking of staying with Ben and Jude, stop thinking and start booking! (I have not been offered any incentives for giving this glowing feedback).

Dating from 1881, this charming 4 bedroomed family house was built as the School Master's house. It has been finished to a high standard and can easily sleep 8 either on an entire house basis, or room by room. Phone or email for options. Situated in the popular residential village of Bethel, conveniently located for the centres of Caernarfon and Bangor, the property is situated along the B4366 road on the cusp of the Snowdonia National Park and en route to the beautiful Llyn Peninsula.
Ty'r Ysgol (translates to School House) is as the name suggests, a former School Master's house and offers a welcoming atmosphere. It is situated just 3 miles from the historic Castle town of Caernarfon, 5 miles from the University City of Bangor and right on the edge of Snowdonia which just has more and more to offer, not only its obvious beauty but more recently also has become an area for adventure including Surf Snowdonia surf centre, Bounce Below for trampolining, ZipWorld, Go Below, Greenwood Forest Park and many other attractions.
The house is located in a medium-sized village, with a small convenience store/post office for basic needs. The house is located on the main road in the village, but it is a quiet road and all windows are double-glazed which dampens the outside noise. There is a close, welcoming, community in the village.
  • We booked Alicia's house for the second time and loved it as much as the first time ! It's clean and quite spacious, close to Snowdonia, and it has got everything you need to cook a nice meal after a rainy day :) Thanks again Alicia! Hélène + Alex + Bertrand + Jessica

  • I had a very pleasant stay at Alicia's. The house is very characterful and spacious with plenty of space to sit and relax. I found Alicia to be very warm and friendly and very easy to get along with. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and conducive to a great night's sleep. The room I stayed in also had a desk which was very useful when doing admin after work

    Chris2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alicia's place is great. You can get there form Caernarfon using one bus. The room and the house is stylish and clean. She will make you feel at home with family. I can not recommend more this place. Great service and place.

    Kevin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Alicia is an amazing host and her house is beautiful! During my stay I felt myself so welcomed as if I am at home. Her house is very comfortable and I was very sad to leave. However I would recommend staying in the place only if you have a car. The place is 7 min drive from a big village with restaurants and tourist sights and is a great base to explore Snowdonia and North Wales

  • Little gift left by the host of fresh eggs, bread, milk, pancakes and wine added extra homely touch. The place was sparkling clean and tidy. The cottage also benefits from amazing views from the windows. It is good walking distance to Llanberis.

  • Janices' cottage was awesome! It is tucked away in an idyllic location on a farm, even with cows nearby! It gave us an authentic experience of North Wales right next to Mount Snowdown and local towns. The place was so clean and Janice left us some fresh eggs and bread which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend staying at the cottage, you won't be disappointed!

    Sam2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Janice was a fantastic hostess, the cottage was beautiful, warm, homely and just right for us. The location is spot on, and the scenery is gorgeous.

  • Absolutely lovely place, we loved our stay. The views from the cottage are amazing when weather is good, the place was clean and quiet at night and the bed comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a lot of information about the area, and a good collection of books and even a few movies in the lounge! I definitely recommend staying here.

    Kristel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Janice's cottage for a weekend break. It was easy to find and the location is very central and convenient for the local attractions, in our case the Zip World experience. The cottage was spotless, very cosy and perfect for a weekend away. I would highly recommend this property and Janice was a great host.

Our cosy 'Elidir' glamping yurt has one double bed, two chairs, tea and coffee, kettle, electric fire and sockets for charging phones. With modern newly refurbished facilities, it's probably the most unique accommodation in the local area! Campfires allowed, BBQ's allowed. The perfect base for Snowdonia! The Llanberis Path and Snowdon Ranger can be accessed direct from the yurt! (You can leave your car here so you don't have to stress about finding a parking spot!)
If you are looking to conquer Snowdon - this is the perfect base. We are the closest campsite to the Llanberis Path; a simple half an hour walk will find you a quarter of the way up Snowdon on the Llanberis Path. The ranger path is also accessible from camp. The Miners and Pyg are also easily accessible via the Sherpa bus from Llanberis village (10 minute walk). If Mountains aren't your thing - don't worry, there are ample tourist attractions in the local area such as Zip World, Caernarfon Castle, Bounce Below! As comfortable and lovely the yurts are - Glamping is STILL technically Camping! Please be aware, the yurts will not be as warm as indoor accommodation during exceptionally cold nights in the wintery months. The yurts are perfect for anyone wanting a countryside escape with (a lot!!) more comfort than our campsite has to offer... Or simply those who are after more of a unique feel than 'standard' accommodation can offer! Even though the yurts are based on our campsite, the yurts are in a private position and feel completely separate. Due to this we do not allow camping in the yurt area, nor allow anyone who isn’t on your booking in the yurt, general yurt area or use the glamping facilities. This is a one rule for all. New for 2019 - Our lovely modern toilet block has been FULLY RENOVATED. This is a private toilet block for yurt guests only! (will be shared with our other 3 yurts but NOT with the general campsite) Showers are FREE. (for hygiene reasons please bring your own towels and toiletries, toilet roll is provided.) NO TOWELS ARE PROVIDED NO COOKING FACILITIES NO PLATES / CUTLERY ARE PROVIDED Do not use post code in satnav or airb&b directions. Type Camping in Llanberis into Google maps for accurate directions.
  • Very comfortable space and close as you can get to Snowdonia!

    Erik2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two night stay. The electric fire heater heated the whole yurt which was awesome and needed for the time of year, the bed was comfortable, and the space was pretty much private. The newly done bathrooms were clean and warm. Unlike the creepy crawlies you can get with standard campsite bathrooms, the only spiders present in the yurt bathrooms were just a few in the window! Which was awesome because I hate spiders, especially showering with them... Location was ideal as the local town was perfect and it was a 10 min drive to the Miners trail to head up Snowdon!

    Sophie2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was lovely! We stayed for my boyfriends birthday, it was a perfect location for walking up Snowdon, very warm and welcoming at the end of the day! The shower block was clean and modern, and she even added a birthday banner for us!

    Matilda2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was really cosy and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. The campsite is in a great location, very scenic and close to the town. A great place to stay if you want to walk Snowdon as the Llanberis path leads to the campsite.

    Alex2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the yurt. It’s a great space for a couple of days rest and we felt at home. The location is perfect for those wanting to climb Snowdon and it’s 15 minutes to the village centre. The private toilet block for yurt guests is a nice touch. Really enjoyed and would recommend!

Welcome to our newly converted chalet located at the bottom of our garden at the foot of the Carneddau Mountain Range in Bethesda. It contains a brand new small kitchen with all basic utensils, pots, pans, kettle, toaster and electric hobs. We also supply tea, coffee and milk. The bed is a SOFA BED. It is a stones throw away from the famous 'Zipworld' (15 min walk) and the Carneddau mountain range (10 min walk), and a short drive from Snowdon (15 min). Perfect location to experience Snowdonia.
The chalet is located at the bottom of our garden. Newly converted it is the ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. You’re more than welcome also to use our spacious garden. Parking is a problem in the area but not at Fron Isaf where you will have your own parking bay.
Bethesda is a vibrant working town. The Penrhyn Slate Quarry, now home to Zip World, used to be the largest Slate Quarry in the world, employing up to 3000 workers at its hight. Today the number is far lower and tourism has become more important. Nevertheless the spirit of the village and its Welshnes lives on in its residents. The George (Y Sior) is a 5 minute walk from the property. Serving locally brewed cask ales and a warm Welsh welcome I would recomend a visit. If you choose not to use the newly installed kitchen in the Fron Isaf there is ample choice of food available on the high street and nearby. Ranging from take aways to resteraunts. Bethesda is a haven for walkers. Close to all the major mountain ranges of Snowdonia and within walking distance (literally a couple of minutes walk) of the Carneddau mountain range. Buses also run all day from Bethesda through Nant Francon towards Cwm Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and Capel Curig amd Betws y Coed.
  • Both hosts are really helpful with tips on what to do around the area, there if you need them for anything. The space was sparkling clean and cosy when we arrived with amenities available like milk, cereal, tea and coffee.

    Beth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views of Snowdonia from the parking location for the cabin. If you don't expect too much from the squeaky sofa bed then everything else about the cabin is really nice and cosy! Maybe bring earplugs if heavy rain noise particularly bothers you.

    Beth2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. The location was perfect for us, everywhere we wanted to go was a short drive, and the high street was a five minute walk. The cabin was cute and cosy, even with storm Dennis going on. Definitely be back again (:

    Jade2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow... Perfect for a break away & for one or two xxx Stunning location & cosy 🙌

    Diane2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin for a quick weekend away in the beautiful Welsh countryside! The cabin had everything we needed, from towels, to pots and pans, and even some yummy welsh cakes on arrival! We visited during Storm Ciara, and the only thing to keep in mind is that the rain and wind can be quite noisy when you’re in a little shed - so maybe take some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!! But overall, this could not have been a more lovely place to stay! Hopefully we will visit again when the sun is shining :)

    Evie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cosy space with a very tidy and homely feel to it. We arrived a little later than expected after a long drive, and got speedy communication throughout the booking process and on updating the hosts with our arrival time. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, I feel the space has been utilised very well. On reading other reviews about the bed, we ended up bringing a spare duvet and propped the sofa bed with pillows and managed to get decent and a comfy sleep with these additions. For a cabin, the heating and the portable heater was useful and effective to keep us warm! The location of this place is excellent for taking trips to snowdonia and surrounding areas, and was excellent value for what we paid for our stay. There are some lovely views too from the cabin of the surrounding areas. Thanks again for our stay, I would definitely recommend for a short trip if you are exploring north wales.

Spacious cottage with light and airy living accommodation, and well appointed kitchen/bathroom. Great location overlooking Llanberis on south facing hillside, with panoramic views over the Padarn lake and Snowdon. Terrace at the front looking to the mountains, with a large picnic table and stunning views. Steep terraced garden to the rear backing directly onto the mountainside and numerous boulders for the climbers, including the classic f6b 'Harris's arete'... even harder from the right!
A lovely light, south facing house, with well equipped kitchen and bathroom
Fachwen road is itself a scenic attraction, being a pretty single track road on a popular circular walk from Llanberis, and has the added benefit of 2 great day time cafes, one at the top (the Lodge) and one at the bottom (the Caban). Llanberis is an easy downhill 2 mile walk from the cottage in either direction, or a 5 minute drive. Zipworld is 15min in the other direction (north), and the beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn only twice that far. Llanberis is a popular tourist village with the train up Snowdon, the Welsh Slate Museum, Surf-Lines canoe/paddleboard hire on the lakeside, High Ropes Adventure Park near the slate museum (Vivian Quarry), and not forgetting the essential outdoor institution Pete's Eats. Mavon café a few doors down is more Vegan, and there are numerous other bars and eateries situated around the village. At the bottom of the Fachwen road at Brynrefail is the excellent Caban café, whilst at the top of the road on the way to Dinorwic quarries (great walks, amazing exploration potential beyond the fences! and superb rock climbing) is the lovely Lodge café. Happy holidays.

  • Garth is a warm, cosy, homely and comfortable cottage with fabulous mountain views to the front. The double bed is super comfy, extra duvets if needed. Well equipped kitchen, everything you need for self catering. Downstairs bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. Small table at the window overlooking the mountain view, great spot for some writing/working also doubles as the dining table. Narrow road winds up through a pretty woodland to the cottage, this road is also a popular walking route. Friendly easy to contact host living nearby. Well placed for walking and climbing in Snowdonia, stunning beaches on Anglesey, the Llyn peninsula and so much more. We thoroughly recommend this cottage and wish we could have stayed longer.

    Gina2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Garth Cottage for 6 days over the Christmas period. Check-in was very easy - and Nicolas even left an LED torch in the lock box to make it easy for us to see the combination. Generous, sparkling clean accommodation, lovely fireplace, gorgeous views, homely feel, comfy sofas and beds, well equipped kitchen and sizeable bathroom made our stay very comfortable and pleasant indeed. The location couldn't have been better offering excellent opportunities to explore in all directions, from mountains to castles and beaches. Most attractions are within a 20-40 min drive which is just perfect. We would recommend Garth Cottage to anyone wanting to explore North Wales without hesitation. Thank you!

My 1 bedroom cottage is a short distance from Snowdon and offers beautiful views of Anglesey. Situated near Llanberis, the cottage is perfect for couples, a small family or single traveller looking for somewhere to stay, from 2 nights to 2 weeks. Dog friendly. The cottage offers the perfect base for nearby activities, such as walking, climbing, canoeing, paddle boarding and mountain biking. Things nearby: Zip World, Go Below, Anglesey Beaches, Betws-y-coed Swallow Falls, Steam Railways.
Recently rebuilt to a high standard this cottage features all mod cons, double glazing, full central heating, and unlike most stone Welsh cottages in the area it's warm, light, and dry! The lounge and kitchen are open plan, with a raised ceiling into the roofline. The main feature of the lounge is the original stone fireplace that defines that cottage feel. A fully equipped kitchen with double electric oven, hob, fridge and microwave. The bedroom and bathroom are entered from an adjoining doorway. The bedroom has a double bed, a wardrobe and cupboards for your use. The bathroom has a shower/bath combination. The front of the house overlooks miles of open countryside and villages, all the way across to Holyhead on Anglesey some 25 miles away. The Irish Sea can be seen from the front garden. There is a local shop and cafe within walking distance for any last minute essentials. Larger supermarkets can be found in Bangor and Llanberis. Access to Snowdon: self-drive, bus or taxi (details within Welcome Pack or just ask me)
Rural community with easy access to the mountains and lakeside.
  • Wonderful, cosy, well equipped cottage very near Snowdon and Anglesey. Mary was really helpful and quick to respond. Highly recommended.

  • We really enjoyed our visit to North Wales. Mary was a great host, her communication prior to the trip was great. On arrival Mary popped in to ensure everything was ok and gave us great advice on where to visit during our stay, it was lovely to meet her. The cottage itself is great, well equipped and we felt very much at home. The log fire was a nice touch and was lovely to sit in front of after a day out in the cold. Would visit again

    Andrew2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are wanting a ideal relaxing get away then this little cottage is perfect. It is in a good location with everything only a short drive away and the log burner is the most wonderful thing to come back too after exploring!

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cottage, a very useful space to use as a base for days out in Snowdonia National Park. It was very nice to have the log burner to come back to after some bad weather.

  • Mary's cottage is absolutely charming, in a really nice quiet village but a fairly short drive to lots of really great areas and attractions which Mary gave great suggestions for, we would highly recommend staying there to anyone who wants to see what the area has to offer.

    Leon2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay at Mary's beautiful cottage. Everything you could want is there. Very cosy, lovey and warm. Brilliant location for the mountain ranges, very easy access to the starting points for Snowdon (which I did). Mary's Welcome Pack is terrific, lots of useful information. I would recommend taking a drive higher up along the road, as soon as you turn the corner the views are magnificent. Very friendly locals as well. Thank you Mary for letting me stay in your much loved cottage.

  • A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location, within a short drive of many of sbowdonias best features. Mary herself is a wonderful hostess, available without being intrusive, and made the stay an extremely pleasant one. Highly recommended

Llain Bach is situated within our garden and overlooks Penrhyn Quarry, the home of the popular tourist attraction, Zip World and the worlds fastest zip line. The property also overlooks the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges and has an extensive view of the village. The village itself is within walking distance and has a couple of convenience stores (Tesco Express and Londis), cafes, a range of fast food establishments including fish and chips, pizza, Chinese and Indian as well as a choice of public houses, one of which is situated a few hundred meters from the property (on the flat!). There is also a restaurant (Blondin) situated at Zip World.
  • Andrew and Karen were best hosts I ever met. They have been very helpful from the beginning till end. Andrew and Karen even came to the train station to pick us up which was so helpful. Bethesda is a lovely little town and their little place is absolutely worth visiting. Everything we needed was there. This scenic place is one of the best I ever stayed. Will be definitely coming back again. Completely happy for choosing this place for my bday getaway. Thanks very much to Andrew and Karen xx

  • This small but excellent property is worth staying in. It offers everything, and more, of what you need. The host is helpful and friendly and the added touches were a bonus

  • Perfect location to explore both the local area and as a hub to explore North Wales. Check in was smooth and easy, communication was great. The place was clean and cosy, with underfloor heating. The bed had already been made up for us on arrival which was great! Andrew and his family are great hosts, great tips for what to do in the area and love the extra little touches! Thanks for a fabulous stay, we will be back!

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

    Daniel2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space, perfect for a weekend away. Nestled into the hillside with an incredible view of the hills, quarry and town. Andrew and Karen are fantastic hosts, very caring and welcoming, on hand for anything. They even sent us messages throughout our stay ensuring we were comfortable, happy and safe (there was a bad storm one of the days). The homely touches inside the space made it feel very comfortable and warm. Would 100% recommend. Will stay again

    Helen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute property with outstanding views. Great fun watching the zip line antics - I suggest bringing some binoculars for an even better experience. 😁Wonderful hosts - incredibly thoughtful and would 💯 percent recommend 👍🏻

  • Andrews and Karen’s place is an amazing place to stay the, space is compact but you have everything you need. The sofa bed is plenty big enough and it’s comfy. The bathroom is a small space but it works, it’s all you need if your staying for a night or two. Very stylish and love that it has a big tv on the wall plus a microwave which is also a grille and oven. Wound highly recommended this place. Amazing views across snowdonia and you can see the zip wire coming down the mountains. Great hosts very friendly.

    Callum2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding views of the mountains and the ocean in the distance. We arrived during storm Dennis, which was very windy and rainy. Andrew greeted us very warmly and took the time to make sure everything was perfect. Great local tips, and very comfortable accommodations made the fierce storm seem like a tropical breeze in the Welsh mountains. Lovely place and lovely people.

Welcome to our cosy, modern & well decorated garden bungalow in Bethesda. The bungalow has a shower room & toilet, kitchen area with microwave, kettle & toaster (no cooker) & a separate bedroom. It has wooden flooring & is serviced by a combi boiler for those hot showers after a day of climbing in Snowdonia! Bethesda is home to Europe’s largest zip wire (Zip World) & is famous for its slate quarry. We are just a 5 minute drive from the mountain pass & 10 minutes into the city of Bangor.
You can log on to the bungalow WiFi which is perfect for general surfing and catching up on social media but to be honest it is not up to streaming video due to speed and data restrictions, so guests are politely asked not to use NetFlix /Amazon Prime. There is however an extensive DVD library in the property with over 200 titles so plenty to watch if you fancy a night in. Garden furniture is set up for you to sit outside and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine after a day out.
Bethesda is a slate quarrying village on doorstep of the dramatic Nant Ffrancon Pass, Ogwen Falls and some of North Wales’s wildest mountain scenery. A new traffic-free section on the Lôn Las Ogwen cycle and walking path now links Bethesda with Porth Penrhyn on the coast. The Zip World attraction in Penrhyn Quarry has attracted a huge amount of interest. Another recent development is the new gateway visitor centre at Nant Ffrancon to Cwm Idwal and the Ogwen Valley, with interactive interpretation, information and cafe.
  • Very close to the mountains and perfect for tryfan, glyder fach and glyder fawr, about 30mins from snowdon, super close to everything you need, views of the mountains from the garden, cosy and warm accomodation and the shower is amazing after a day hiking. Jo was very friendly gave great local tips on things to do in the area, we really enjoyed blue sky cafe in Bangor really great food 😃

  • The location is perfect to explore Snowdonia and the flat is cosy and comfortable. Would stay again!

    Mary2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay to explore Snowdonia and region. Plenty of options for hiking, castles, villages and lots of things to do around. The cottage is small but perfect for couple, cozy, well equipped (not only cook), shower with good pressure and temperature. Jo was very quick with the replys and provided useful and precise informations for our stay. No amendments to do. Thanks!

    Cleber2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recently arranged to meet up with some old friends in North Wales for a weekend, and booked to stay at Jo’s place as it was near to where my friends were staying and good value. Because I arrived late, it was dark so initially I struggled to find the house, but Jo’s instructions were pretty clear and I got the after a few minutes of identifying nearby landmarks! The cabin was small and cosy, I would say ideal for lone travellers or a couple if you’re planning on being out for most of the day (which you should, as there are loads of great local walks etc.) It was spotlessly clean and had all of the necessities (small kitchenette, kettle, fridge, tv, DVD player, WiFi). The bathroom was small but practical, and the shower had good water pressure/temperature. Very cosy bed, and the heating was set at just the right temperature to be warm and cosy after a day of walking out in the wet! Jo was a very responsive host, quick to respond and sent lots of useful local information prior to my arrival. All in all I can’t really fault this place and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Greg2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Everything was exactly as described. The hosts were very welcoming and offered detailed information prior to arrival. Lots of space for a single traveller + ideal location for hiking. I felt very comfortable and would stay there again.

    Anja2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's bungalow is small but perfectly formed and is the ideal place for a single person or a couple to use as a base for exploring the beautiful area of Snowdonia. The bungalow was spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you might need. The place was nice and warm, without needing heating on, the bed was really comfy and the shower was good and powerful. We didn't make use of the TV or the very impressive collection of dvds, although my other half managed to fit in a couple of games with the atari. All in all it was perfect for our needs and a wonderful weekend in Bethesda. (Also, if you're lucky you might encounter her two beautifully behaved, lovely dogs too.) Diolch yn fawr Jo and family!

    Rachel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Jo's place. The bungalow is perfect for a weekend away. It is in a great location to explore North Wales. The bungalow was very modern and clean.

Located Cwm Y Glo on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, close to stunning landscapes, beautiful lakes and magnificent mountains. It's less than 2 miles away from the very popular village Llanberis, which is mostly associated with Snowdonia Mountain Range and approx. 5 miles from the historic town of Caernarfon. Close to many outdoor, family-friendly activities, and public transport. My place is great for hikers, solo adventurers, business travellers, couples, families and small groups.
My house is a newly built property with a spacious open plan kitchen living area, bathroom with under floor heating, bath/shower, and 2 cosy double bedrooms. The location of my house is in Cwm Y Glo which is a very small village, across the road from the house is a very quaint kiosk where basic supplies can be had. It is in a good location for a base to explore the area and there are many attractions and activities a short drive or bus ride away. The pictures I have added are of the house, Llanberis lake and Snowdonia mountain range which are popular places to visit. (The pictures are not views from the house but are not far away). I have provided everything you will need, such as a good internet connection, washer-dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, smart TV, fresh bedding, mirrors in both bedrooms and plenty of towels, to ensure you have a comfortable stay. My house can sleep a maximum of 5 guests as both bedrooms have double beds and there is single futon bed available. I have put much time, love and care in to my house which I hope will make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The house is located in Cwm Y Glo which a small quiet village. It is an end terrace bungalow so please be aware of neighbours. It isn’t far from beautiful landscapes and activities for adults and children. The village has a small bakery, a little gallery and a petrol station. Up from the village there is also a small castle. Llanberis is a must which is approx 2 miles away and of course snowdonia mountain range isn’t far! Pen Y Pass is approx 15/20 minute drive away, it is a lovely drive taking you through beautiful scenery.
  • Warm, cozy, clean place, ideal for Snowdonia. All we needed for a few days stay, and a little bit more. Great host. Recommend.

  • Great location- a short walk away from the llanberis path. My friend and I visited on the weekend where the were weather warnings in August, so our plans had to change but Debbie was very accommodating and flexible with our timings and plans. Also, she provided us with local tips and information which were very helpful. We had such a lovely weekend and would definitely stay again at Debbie's next time we visit Snowdonia. Thanks for everything Debbie (including the tea and welsh cake that went down a treat after the walk up and down!).

  • We’ve had a great 4 night stay here. Debbie & family are lovely & welcoming and we felt very comfortable. And what a fantastic base to explore the local area from; we walked all around the old slate quarry & visited both museums connected with the quarry, we walked around & had a dip in the lake, walked up the waterfalls walk behind the church and climbed Snowdon, going up via llanberis walk & down via miners’ track (you can get bus back into llanberis from pen-y-pass). The scenery & views are all absolutely stunning.

The cottage was very warm with a neat heating control system and an open fire should you need it. Kitchen was very well equipped. Cottage was decorated in a lovely homely style. The beds were extremely comfortable!! The hot tub was perfect after a long walk! Highly recommended. Thanks.

  • We are a family of 4 (plus our dog) and had a fantastic stay. We arrived late and the house was cosy & warm as soon as we came in. The hosts had left a bottle of Prosecco and note to welcome us in. We used the spa each night, enjoyed the fireplace, and cooked all of our meals at the house. The kitchen was stocked with of everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the towels were nice & big. The location was fantastic and we took walks around the lake at sunrise & sunset. As it’s January, many things were closed, but we still had a great time. The scenery is stunning! I’d highly recommend a stay!

This lovely country cottage enjoys a rural location near the picturesque River Rhythallt, with elevated views across the valley towards Snowdon. Just one mile from the Welsh village of Llanrug, with local pubs, shops and an award-winning butcher. 3 miles from Llanberis and the Snowdonia National Park. A great place to enjoy the mountain scenery and access the hills. Note: Cottage accessed via 0.1 mile, very narrow, windy lane, not suitable for wide vehicles and trailers.
A traditional Welsh cottage and despite it's name 'Ty Newydd' meaning new house, it's one of the oldest houses in the area with the original part of the cottage said to date back well over 300 years. Kept in the same family for the last 70 years, it's had many transformations. During the boom of the slate quarry, the house was owned by the station master, the public footpath that leads down from the cottage takes you to the old train building where the locomotives were stored. The old part of the house (Kitchen) is said to date back to the 17th Century and the newer part (Lounge and Bedrooms) date back to the 19th Century. Between the two, where the bathroom is now located, there existed a water wheel, powered by a small stream that has since been diverted through the fields, with a small pond in the back garden holding the water to power the wheel.
It enjoys a rural location with the convenience of being close to towns and the village of Llanberis.
  • Lovely cottage as described. The lane to the cottage is quite tight as Gareth has warned us in advance. There was a storm on the weekend we booked so we didn’t go out quite late. The DVDs are really appreciated 😊

  • Incredible place. Very well equipped, beautiful view, cosy rooms, all sorts of amenities, loads of useful utensils to cook, and very reactive host! We felt very welcome. Great location for going into Snowdonia or Anglesey. No WiFi but decent 4G signal. Who needs WiFi when you've got the mountains so close anyway! Don't come with too wide/long a car! The road up the cottage is extremely narrow!

  • What a gorgeous space in a gorgeous place! We were looking for somewhere cosy and comfortable to prepare for, and recover from, our charity hike on the snowdon horseshoe, Gareth & Sarah’s cottage was perfect for just that. Loved the fresh flowers from the garden, herbs we could pick to cook, beautiful view of the mountains and the tranquil rural setting. The cottage itself was comfortable, warm and well-equipped and a great location for exploring the area. Narrow road was fine for my civic so long as you take it steady. We were sad to leave this beautiful spot! Thank you!

  • A beautiful serene cottage perfect for switching off and exploring Snowdonia

  • We loved staying here for many reasons. The view itself is incomparabl. Having breakfast and dinner outside with the view was just stunning. Really quick responses to any questions we had. Definitely take Gareth route instructions instead of following google maps. Lol. Big thanks.

  • Basil, thanks a lot for a lovely vibe, also for fireplace and preparing a nice evening! We are in love in Ship Cottage. Was everything what we needed. It's really cozy place, perfect to stay for a long time, unfortunately weekend was definitely too short! Definitely we recommend this place ❤️ All the best for you and Django!

  • Love this cottage- cosy, warm and with everything you need. Great location for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey not far away too. Beautiful views of Snowdon. Basil is a fantastic host - he is there whenever you need and respects privacy too. Will certainly stay here again.

  • Ships Cottage is a perfect place for 2 to 4 people in a central location to Llanberis, Caerarfon and Bangor and the surrounding Snowdonia area. Super clean and very well equipped. Basil and Annie should give other AirBNB hosts some lessons! Both were very helpful and engaged wholeheartedly with us. Definitely one of the top Airbnb's I've stayed at. I plan to return as this part of Wales is endlessly beautiful.
