Candy Store
“As old-school French as chocolates come, a mendiant’s four classic toppings of raisins, hazelnuts, figs and almonds represent the Dominican, Augustinian, Franciscan and Carmelite monastic orders respectively. Nowadays, possibly reflecting a more secular France, ingredients include seeds, dried fruits and peels. À la mère de famille is the oldest chocolatier in Paris and produces some of its finest mendiants.”

“If your are gluten free (like me) No Glu is a must try restaurant. It's also in a beautiful parisian passage and not very far from the flat (15-20 min walk). I think it's better to make a reservation. ”

Off-Licence
“What this terrace lacks in size it more than makes up for in charm. The terrace has a few small wooden tables and one large one that accommodates several people. I go there to read and snack on simple but delicious bites. The place feels like home. Chat it up with the owner, Philippe. He’s really nice. He got into the restaurant business after years of working in finance.”
