  • Nice place!

    Peggy Sue2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The price of lodging is high in Eureka (coast in general) I was taking some me time away and this was a cute unit, separate from the main home. The price was amazing. The place was so cute. Check in was easy. Host was responsive. The bathroom connnected to this unit is shared with other units, but the door double locks for privacy. I would reccomend shower shoes (advice from fire camp) because you're sharing the shower. But sharing that space was not a problem! Fridge microwave and toaster. Dishes silverware and coffee maker. Perfect for one or two people. Great for moms retrear. In a safe neighborhood. Quiet. And cute. Thanks!

Just 1.5 miles from 101 (Pacific Coast Highway), easy access, but far enough for a quiet night's sleep. Stay in our private cabin in the country just 3 minutes from Eureka. Enjoy custom cabinetry and tile work, a newer queen bed with cotton bedding, wireless, a kitchenette with a microwave, and a washer/dryer, with a view of the picturesque Elk River Valley. Luxury and convenience in a rural setting! Large vehicles welcome.
The bunkhouse is full of comforts and custom features. It is attached to a separate garage/laundry with its own entrance and includes a living room/kitchenette (and a hotplate with pots/pans are available by request), bedroom, and bathroom. The space has smaller-than-standard doorways and a few stairs up to both entrances. Our property is the headquarters of a historic dairy, so you will have views of a huge 150-year-old barn, a smaller milking barn, a loafing shed, the main house, and lots of fenced pasture. Instead of cattle, we have two horses that can often be seen through the bunkhouse windows.
We are located just 2 miles from the south end of Eureka and one and a half miles from Highway 101. We live in a rural neighborhood surrounded by a few homes and lots of pasture and trees. Elk River Road itself is somewhat busy during the day, but it becomes quiet at night.
  • Super great and super reliable. Completely humble hosts and superb housing for guests. Will book again in the upcoming future.

  • Perfection! This was one of my best experiences on Airbnb to date. The location is about 2 miles from town (car recommended) but was worth it for a bit of peace and calm away from the city. The space itself was spotless, the bed comfortable, and there was coffee and tea waiting. I checked in mid-evening and met Wendy who offered running path and breakfast recommendations. I then had time to make a cup of tea and read a book while watching the sun set over their property (horses and old barn, included). I highly recommend this space and will be back if I’m ever in the area again!

  • The response time was within minutes. Check in was really easy. A clean and cute space.

    Christine2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Rick's place is very peaceful with the perfect window for watching evening sunsets. The pillows were fluffy, the water plentiful and hot, the kitchen had everything we needed including a microwave. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, so much so that we decided to spend two extra nights at their AirBnB. This was our second visit, and we intend to return next year when we visit our son in Eureka again.

    Patricia2019-09-14T00:00:00Z

This is an upstairs room in a 1909 Victorian/Craftsman home. The room has a dormer window and a small library and desk. There is a large closet and plenty of space to stretch out. It’s about two blocks west to the bay and boat landing and about two blocks to the Boathouse bar and restaurant. The house is about 5 minutes south of Eureka and 15 minutes north of Fortuna, making it convenient for traveling medical staff working at St Joe’s Hospital or Redwood Memorial Hospital.
Shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom.
We are a stone’s throw away from the Humboldt Bay and boat launching site and the small town’s only bar/restaurant. We are also less than a minute from Humboldt County’s main artery, Highway 101.
  • Comfortable private attic room, lovely family to be hosted by, perfect stopping point for redwoods.

    Ethan2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in Sara’s attic room. It was cozy, comfortable and very clean. It reminded me of an attic room I used to stay in at my Grandma’s house. Since I’m a book lover, I liked having a room with lots of books.

  • great host

    Aaron2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! The house feels pretty private even tho it’s located within a neighborhood. It has a fantastic view of bay, we shared many moments enjoying the sunrise/sunsets. The amenities are all new, great big TV in the family room and a state of the art kitchen with a nice little nook. The water takes a while to heat up and the tank doesn’t stay hot too long if you have numerous folks showering/doing dishes at the same time. All and all a great stay and I would absolutely recommend it!

    Leena2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great home, in a very quiet neighborhood and was super easy to find and get to! It is rare that my family (mom, stepdad and brother) can all get together, so it was a perfect place for us to chill and reconnect. Random note to guests that love to cook: the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking implements and is updated, but we only found salt and pepper in terms of pantry items so make sure to bring extras like foil, plastic wrap, spices your prefer, etc. Other than that, it's a great place to stay in Eureka!!!

    Hillary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice spot!

    Boyce2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful views of Humboldt Bay/ocean. Great comfortable floor plan. Lots of windows/sunlight/views. Great hosts.

    Gerardo2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home on top of a hill with a panoramic view of the Humbolt Bay. When we arrived there was a small gift of local cookies and local ground coffee waiting for us! How delightful! The house is newly renovated with charming decor. It was sparkling clean and had upscale amenities. The house had plenty of room for our large family mix of adults and children. There is a hidden garden in the back with patio furniture and a BBQ that make for a great place to relax in privacy with the native birds singing in the background. The host was very courteous and prompt to respond. We would definitely recommend this house and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • Jana is an AMAZING hostess. I can't say enough good about her and her little cottage. I got away there for 5 days and enjoyed every moment. It's so close to downtown Eureka, Arcata and the beach! Not to mention Trinidad is less than 20 miles away and Patrick's Point! Jana is so welcoming and leaves you little touches like granola, fruit and biscotti for breakfast and an amazing selection of teas. It feels like the most special little getaway ever. If you're in Eureka, stay here!

    Katherine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

There was even new tooth brushes available in case you forgot yours! Nawdy was such a delight to talk to and share space with, as was her son son and their adorable dogs. I would stay again happily!

This retreat is minutes away from redwoods and ocean. Enjoy the serenity of this river valley at home, or drive 15 minutes into Old Town for Eureka's best shops and restaurants. Excellent grocery stores with abundant organic produce are 15 minutes away, and the kitchen is supplied with plenty of homemade and homegrown food. Relax on the porch while gazing across the valley at hawks, egrets, and deer, or snuggle indoors surrounded by warm light and rich colors.
Eureka Natural Foods and the North Coast Co-op, both excellent full-service grocery stores with abundant organic produce, are a 15-minute drive away, as are farmers markets during the summer months. Or, if you'd rather, you can hang out in my vegetable garden and be entertained by my chickens' antics. This unique tiny house has all the amenities of a "real" home on a small, earth-friendly scale. It incorporates such permaculture systems as rain-water catchment, passive solar heating, and a LovableLoo composting toilet. I have stocked the kitchen with everything you might need to fix a vegetarian, organic breakfast: eggs from my hens (when they are laying); homemade yogurt, granola, bread, and butter; pancake mix; organic maple syrup; half-n-half; and Peet's coffee made with reverse-osmosis filtered water in a French press. Guests repeatedly wish they had stayed longer. You may want to consider staying at least two nights, if not more!
We are within two miles of the Headwaters Trail, and within four miles of the Hikshari' Trail, which travels along the bay. I have lived here for 18+ years, and every one of those days I have delighted in how beautiful it is here. Whether it's coming home at night to a sky full of stars, or waking up in the morning to birdsong, or smiling at the Magic Hour golden light on the surrounding trees, or appreciating a vivid rainbow against the dark gray storm clouds...
  • This place is as adorable as the listing says it is. We really appreciated Claire’s hospitality and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Waking up and enjoying homemade bread and granola and eggs from her chickens was amazing. The other reviews are right, one night here was not enough. We will definitely be staying with her again!

    Rachel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as listed, but the listing can’t do justice for what a magical spot this is!

    Henry2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's wonderful tiny house is located in an idyllic rural setting just minutes away from Eureka where deer graze and rest only yards away from the front porch. The house is tastefully stocked with thoughtful essentials for a delightful getaway in beautiful Humboldt Co. Besides being a terrific, knowledgeable host, Claire generously shared homemade bread, eggs from her chickens and other yummy treats that made our stay there a delightful experience.

    Rona2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was lovely. Tucked away, it felt very private in a beautiful serene setting. A great spot for a retreat or a cozy romantic getaway. It is close to the ocean, and beautiful hiking trails. The breakfast items are delicious!

    Holly2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Claire's made for a comfortable and very peaceful birthday weekend for me. I was touched by Claire's hospitality - she had the most delicious home made vegan chocolate waiting for me in the tiny house - and am especially impressed and inspired by all she does to live sustainably. The house is designed so thoughtfully and had all the amenities I needed and more. Waking up in the beautiful setting with deer walking around made for a perfect stay. I highly recommend staying at Claire's.

  • My husband and I made a last minute stop in Eureka while travelling from Oregon coast to San Francisco. True to the description, Elizabeth’s place is a hidden gem. Very nicely set up and cozy. The bed is very comfortable, so is the bedsheet. The only regret is we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy the garden bungalow; however, we had a chance to chat with our host who is very hospitable and kind. We look forward to visit Eureka and stay with Elizabeth again!

    Kristy2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Just stop in and see... it's amazing. You won't regret a thing. The garden retreat gave me the quiet place to focus! Thank you so much!

  • We head up to the Arcata/Eureka area often due to our daughter attending college in the area. This last visit, we stayed in Elizabeth’s place. It is so cute. Well furnished, clean and charming. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice and crisp. She offers some nice amenities, WiFi, television, a lovely dining area separate from the bungalow and an outside shower with plenty of privacy. There was also a wonderful cast iron gas stove to keep us toasty, as we visited during Winter. What a wonderful place! We look forward to staying again soon!

    Erica2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable bungalow with a lovely garden outside. I would definitely stay again.

    Melynda2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt as if we were in a space with “happy walls”. All the windows provided a lightness and the feeling of being connected with the outdoors! It was very functional and welcoming, and the tips on where to dine we’re spot on.

Welcome to Victoria. She is a 117 year old beauty that we have put a lot of love and joy into. There is a cozy wood burning stove as well as three electric heaters and a gas stove. Lots of light floods the house that our plants enjoy and so will you! Our work in progress house, where we live, is close if you need us. The big yard is great for kids or relaxing in one of the garden nooks. We hope you enjoy the love we have put into our home!
When I bought Victoria she was in pretty good shape considering her age, yet there were some updates to make, so Zach and I got her mostly down to her bones and gave her a fresh outfit. We kept her true to her history the best we could. I am an artist at heart and love finding new ways to express my creativity, and Victoria is an ever producing muse. The back yard is quiet and peaceful, and depending on the year we have a garden and lots of fruit trees and bushes. You may harvest some of this for your enjoyment, but please don't strip us bare. There are 5 garden nooks to sit and listen to the symphony of wind chimes. Also, enjoy the hammock that can easily be set up.
Eureka is home to beautiful Victorian homes, a peaceful bay, great food, redwood forests, and shopping for all. Its a quick drive to surround towns where you can continue to discover the beauty and culture behind the Redwood Curtain.
  • Very nice and clean! I would definitely stay here again.

    Jennifer2020-03-17T00:00:00Z

  • This is my third time staying at Heather’s place, and it’s truly home away from Home. Heather is a wonderful Host - exceedingly thoughtful and timely in her communications. Her house is stocked with EVERYTHING you could ever need while traveling including hair ties, razors, deodorant (men AND women’s), plus bread, jam, fresh fruit and coffee! The yard is lovely and HUGE, which my pups appreciate. Heather’s home is lovely and comfortable and is close to everything Eureka have to offer. Truly one of the best AirBnB homes I’ve stayed in around the world.

    Alicia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Heather’s space was thoughtful and cozy. Perfect stop on our trip down the coast. We really enjoyed the fire place and overall property.

    Chelsea2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Second stay at Heather’s lovely house in two months. Can’t say enough about this gem of a place. Comfortable, charming, spacious and a gorgeous backyard. If possible I’d give this place six stars, instead of five. She is a perfect host, and you will love this house.

    Alicia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is so cute and homey. Very clean with thoughtful touches throughout. Heather left clear info about the home and that was very helpful.

    Melanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

  • This place was very clean and neat. Would recommend!

    Chandler2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the very first time I visited Northern California and I was more than impressed with everything! For starters, I recently adopted a small dog named Ghost and I wanted him to explore the Redwoods with me and my boyfriend. Unfortunately, a lot of hotels/airbnb's were not dog friendly. Luckily, I came across Sandy's home. I didn't expect much but when we arrived at the house, it was beautiful. The location itself was ideal. We were only about a 10 minute drive from Downtown and a nice 30 min drive to hikes and trails in the area. Being in the forest, driving to locations were not an issue because you got to see a lovely view on the way. Access to the room was very private and we had our own lockbox for the key. The room was more spacious than expected and had almost everything we needed. There were chairs, TV dinner stands, a "fireplace" for heat, extra blankets/pillows, microwave, Keurig, mini fridge, etc. The only thing I could've asked for was a few dishes to eat our leftovers. Outside we had a cute little patio set and a good size lawn for Ghost to poop. One of the most important thing for us was the fact that Sandy left out newspapers that had maps of the entire area! My boyfriend knew of a few places to visit but those maps allowed us to see popular destinations, trails, the Lost Coast, even areas towards Oregon. We eventually used those as our tour guides when going on hikes. Another important detail about this experience was the comfortability we felt at Sandy and Bill's home. They were genuinely nice people that were hospitable, accommodating and, of course, loved dogs. Overall, Will, Ghost and I had a wonderful stay at the "Eureka Haven" and this has definitely been one of our top places that we've stayed at. I highly recommend it to everyone staying in Eureka.

  • It can be hard to find a dog friendly rental, so I wasn’t expecting anything fancy. From the super easy check in, to the huge grassy yard for the dog, numerous thoughtful touches and amenities you often forget like paper plates, this place was absolutely perfect. We loved the cozy fireplace heater, morning pastries and the entire rental was hotel level spotless. So grateful to have come across this for a last minute NYE trip.

  • Great stay, great hospitality.

    Nicolee2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy was quick in her responses, was very friendly and warm upon meeting and was very flexible in our departure time as she didn’t have a guest coming in after us that evening. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! The electric fireplace in the room really makes the space cozy as the weather was cooler and damp. We would gladly stay again when driving up the coast.

Enjoy historic Eureka in a lovingly restored Victorian home originally built in 1900. The bottom floor flat includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom, full bath & laundry room. Relax in the mid-century living room or cook dinner on the Wedgewood stove! A brand-new Tuft & Needle mattress & down comforter, fluffy white towels, local coffee & cast iron cookware are a few of the pleasant surprises you'll find at Lula's House. Also, a beautiful fenced backyard and fire pit are for guests to enjoy!
The entire bottom floor of a Victorian home built in 1900 is your private getaway in Eureka! At the center of the home sits the well-stocked kitchen with a full-size fridge & retro Wedgwood stove. Dishes, wine glasses, pots & pans & more (olive oil, vinegar, spices) are for guests to prepare a delicious home cooked meal. A quiet corner desk off the kitchen is a lovely space to answer emails or write postcards. The cozy bedroom is tucked off the backyard, complete with wainscoting and the original old-growth redwood flooring. Finally, the mid-century style living room is a comfortable and classy room to relax after a day of hiking. The sofa folds out to a twin-sized mattress for 1 adult or two children. Guests can also enjoy the shared backyard - sip morning coffee on a redwood bench or cozy up around the fire pit at night! *Well-behaved dogs are welcome with a $20 pet fee (processed on booking).
Historic Eureka is filled with beautiful old Victorians - some are "pretty ladies," while others have fallen on hard times. If you're going for a walk, head north from Lula's House. The neighborhoods around "D" and "G" streets are lined with stunning historic homes. South and west of Lula's House are unfortunately neighborhoods in rougher condition - not ideal for dog walks. Lula's House is located on a very quiet street with great neighbors who help keep an eye out. In nearly 6 years of operating my Airbnb, a guest has never had a security issue, but I always recommend using big city common sense in Eureka (don't leave valuables in cars, lock doors, close windows, etc.) For shopping and dining, Old Town Eureka is 20-25 walk or 5 minute drive. It's filled with funky thrift stores, historic architecture, murals and charming restaurants. Feel free to ask for recommendations! Lula's House "Best of Humboldt" suggestions are printed on the fridge and in my Airbnb guidebook. Costco and Eureka Natural Foods are a 1/2 mile away and accessible by car, foot or bike - less than a minute's drive away!

It’s great to go out, breathe in the fresh crisp morning air, take in the view of the beautiful tall trees surrounding you and/or sit outside and drink some coffee with the coffee maker that is conveniently provided for guests. 😊 If we ever need a place to stay in Eureka again, Kevin’s place is definitely at the top of our list. 😊

  • Great place to stay! Location is great for visiting the nearby Redwood National Park, and the cottage itself was clean, pleasant and very inviting.

    Andre2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great private place among the redwoods with ocean air and a wonderful host.

    Samantha2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is so nice! A few of us rented 2 nights here and wow! It felt like home as soon as we walked in, with the stove rolling and the redwoods in the yard providing shade to the swinging chair on the deck, though we didn’t indulge, offering veggies from the garden was a first! The rooms were warm and (I heard) the jetted tub was excellent! Mike was great with us from the beginning with clear instructions for check in and a nice binder with the answer to ANY question we may have on the table by the windows that provides nice natural light. The kitchen came with any dishware/pots/silverware needed to cook for multiple people. We enjoyed a nice Friendsgiving and slept like babies in between exploring the beautiful area that is Humboldt county. The only negative part of my experience was when I realized I accidentally took the TV remote with me (LOL) but luckily for me (and whoever is staying there next), I was still in town and he was incredibly understanding, and made it easy peasy to return it as soon as I was able. A+++ and will certainly be recommending to anyone looking in the area, can’t be the privacy of a cute little house for a few people for that wonderful price!

    Tristan2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute little place. Super easy check in. Perfect for a private get away. Host was great for respecting privacy, but also great for providing detailed information about the stay. Would stay here again

  • Great place for a long weekend. The stand alone house is perhaps more spacious and open than it seems in the pictures. It also has a nice lawn and garden space in the back. 8 min drive to downtown and 20 minute drive to Arcata. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet weekend on the beautiful Humboldt coast!

Enjoy historic Eureka from a private apartment in a lovingly restored Victorian home. The top floor apartment includes a kitchen, bedroom, sitting room & full bath. Enjoy a soak in the claw foot tub or watch the sunset over the Humboldt Bay from the deck... A brand-new pillow top mattress, fluffy white towels, organic local coffee & sharp cooking knives are just a few of the pleasant surprises you'll find at Lula's House. Also, a beautiful fenced backyard and fire pit are for guests to enjoy!
The entire top floor of a Victorian home built in 1900 is your private getaway in Eureka! The apartment includes a bedroom with a new pillow-top queen mattress and built-in redwood drawers, a reading nook with a chaise lounge, a well-stocked kitchen with full-size fridge & stove, and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub overlooking the backyard. Only 12 blocks away from the heart of Old Town Eureka, the apartment is accessible via a private entrance from the side yard. Guests can also enjoy the shared back yard - sip morning coffee on a redwood bench or cozy up around the fire pit at night! Lula's House is peaceful and convenient abode for those exploring the redwoods or temporarily working in Humboldt County. ** Well-behaved dogs are welcome with a $20 pet fee (processed on booking).
In 5 years of operating my Airbnb, a guest has never had a security issue, But I always recommend using big city common sense in Eureka (don't leave valuables in cars, lock doors, close windows, etc.) For shopping and dining, Old Town Eureka is 20-25 walk or 5 minute drive.
  • The upper flat of Lula's House was cozy, convenient, adorable, and with thoughtful touches that made this a lovely stay. I came to Eureka for a 2-day research trip and this was the perfect place to call home for those two days. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything I needed, and the bonus was those delightfully fragrant bath salts to soak in the clawfoot tub, which you better believe I indulged in after a day hunched over a photocopier. On my way out, I made sure to pay my respects to Lula by the apple tree. Thanks Nora for the hospitality!

    Kirsten2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for a great stay in Humboldt county. Parking is extremely ample and safe in this neighborhood. There are a ton of great grocery stores nearby & Nora does a great job of providing kitchen necessities. 10/10 would stay here any time I’m in Eureka!

    Luis2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nora’s space was just as listed. The bed was very comfortable and the claw foot tub was great. Communication was almost immediate, which was extremely helpful given the same-day booking. Thanks so much!

  • Lula's house is great! Adorable loft with all of the essentials. Easy drive to restaurants, bars and the water. Nice little yard for the dogs to play in.

  • Nora's place was so cute! We stayed in the upstairs loft apartment and loved it. The house is amazing and the decor inside doesn't disappoint either. I know my little family will be back in no time

Soak up the charm of this remodeled, vintage cottage. 1950's cabinets, original artwork, cozy reading nook, all new bathroom, and lots of privacy. It has a new queen size bed. There is a coffee maker as well as an induction cook plate available. It is good for cooking a simple meal. There is a small refrigerator. There are dishes and glasses as well. Even though I have a dog, I don't allow pets. The space really isn't conducive for pets.
This cottage is within walking distance of Henderson Center which boasts several restaurants ranging from Mexican to French. There are thrift stores, coffee shops, and other storefronts to wander through. I am about 2.5 miles from downtown Eureka as well. There are several beaches all within a 10 - 30 minute drive, depending on which beach you wish to see. The Sequoia Park and Zoo are within a 10-15 minute walk as well.
This is a family friendly neighborhood. I have been here since 2009 and have found it to be quite charming. I'm within a 5 minute drive to the ocean as well as many hiking trails. I am within a 5 minute drive to St. Joseph hospital, for visiting nurses, doctors, or pharmacists.
  • This was the perfect space for my two night stay. When traveling alone, it is always important for me to feel safe, and Rosie has created the perfect space for safety and comfort. The space is beautiful, inviting, and clean. I can be very needy, and Rosie was so patient, and she responded quickly to all of my messages. Thank you for being so wonderful, Rosie. <3

    Cheri2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I were visiting the Arcata/Eureka area for the weekend. Laura's place was like finding a little oasis in Eureka. We loved using the hot tub and the space itself was very cute and homey. She also bakes delicious scones in the morning. I highly recommend this spot for a quick get away.

    Sally2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Laura's place for two nights while visiting family in Eureka. The place was lovely, scones were delicious, and Laura is super easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this stay.

    Eric2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and cozy. Laura is a wonderful host! Pretty good location and easy access to the suite.

    Jeremy2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s place was lovely, clean, and well maintained. Laura provided many helpful recommendations for a places to eat and things to do in the area, was quick to respond to any communication, and even went out of her way to make vegan scones for me! I highly recommend staying here.

    Maggie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable bed and delicious scones!

    Brooke2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • You'll have tons of privacy at this cozy spot. I slept like a baby in the comfy bed. Laura's scones kept me going all day and she's wonderful to talk with about local tips and more. This was a fantastic base for exploring redwoods an hour north and south, and my fave spot, Patrick's Point. The internet is blazingly fast. Laura was very kind and responsive. There's a shared kitchen, but the door it shares with the rest of the house stays closed and it felt like a private suite containing a good-sized bedroom, private bathroom (with washer and dryer) and kitchen. Laura made sure I had plenty of the type of tea I liked best and I enjoyed the extra snacks in the bedroom. I used the hot tub nearly every night — it's idyllic! The block was very quiet and I agree with another guest who wrote about liking the nearby gas station. Super convenient! I would return. An amazing value, definitely a Eureka gem! I finished my week with Laura absolutely refreshed and revitalized.

    Emilie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Laura is a gracious and welcoming host. Her offer of a homemade scone with coffee/tea in the morning felt like having a breakfast fairy - it magically appeared in the night on the kitchen counter without a sound. Her local tips were especially valuable. The room is lovely with very comfy bed, great blackout curtains and inviting lighting. Thank you, Laura!

Loft 3 is located on the 22-acre Oyster Beach, part of Humboldt Bay Social Club. Humboldt Bay Social Club is a vacation rental resort, boutique hotel, event space and Lobby Bar. The warm industrial loft is a short walk to the beach with views of the eucalyptus grove all around. The interior features a modern kitchen, radiant heat, and vintage and custom furnishings. The Loft sleeps 4. The upstairs has a king-sized bed and the downstairs has a pull-out couch (please let us know if you would like the pull-out couch made up for your arrival).
We are located at the end of the Samoa Peninsula, on Humboldt Bay. While it is just a short drive from both Arcata and Eureka, it is a rural area. There are 4 houses on the Oyster Beach property, all of which are vacation or short-stay rentals (in additional to our private home). Across the street, Samoa Field has 4 boutique hotel suites, a Lobby Bar and an outdoor picnic/grilling area. Other than that, we have few neighbors.
  • Great place. Cozy. Stylish. Toasty warm. Thoughtful touches.

    Liz2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was so lovely! We came with our toddler and infant and found the loft to be really comfortable for all of us. We were super impressed by the styling of the room and all of the attention to detail that made our stay feel special. The location was really cool! Right on the beach and close to the clubhouse and bar across the way. The Humboldt Bay Social club is very comfortable and hip and a family friendly way to explore the beautiful area. Thanks again! We’ll be back!

    Kelly2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 2nd time at the loft, and it did not disappoint. The place is so fun and had everything we needed to be comfortable for a quick getaway with us and our pup. We just did a quick stop at the local grocery, and spent the rest of the time out hiking or relaxing at the loft. The bath house is amazing! Will stay again. Highly recommend!

    Tiffany2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this magical place. It’s a little paradise. perfect for relaxing . The cabin is amazing. I wish it would be mine. My little highlight was the bathroom outside. The oyster beach is very spectacular. only wish we could have stayed longer.

    Jacqueline2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very clean, cute and had great amenities and features (radiant floor heating, full kitchen, beach chairs and stuff, Wifi, TV, local coffee and some snacks, bath house, etc). My husband and I spent 2 nights here on our way from Seattle to San Francisco. We spent our time reading books, enjoyed the bath house, and cooked our meals in the cabin. It is a very secluded area, which I think the posting makes clear on second look but I somehow missed it the first time. So, if you’re from the north east and you think this cabin is going to be in a quaint little beach town like the nj bayside towns, think again! Also, both times my husband and I went over to the social club area there were no other people there other than the workers. The scenery is beautiful and the decor is very cozy in all areas! This cabin would be great for a couple wanting to enjoy a private, nature, retreat together. Especially if you’re runners, hikers, or the like.

  • Great location

    Randy2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool and unique place. The house was perfect, plenty of space for the kids to run around, and having the social club across the street was an unexpected bonus. Everything about the property was great, and was the perfect home base for exploring the area. That being said, we would've been happy even if we hadn't left the property to explore, since there was so much to do right outside our door. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

    Colin2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend this magical place to anyone visiting Humboldt County or to locals who want to make a weekend escape to a secluded (but not too secluded) paradise. The hosts are quick to reply to any questions and the place is filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay so smooth! Check in/out is a breeze (keypads) and this is just my thoughts on the loft. You’ll have stunning grounds on the bay and the lobby bar out on the old plane hanger for your enjoyment too. I suggest having a car, unless you plan on just staying out there. Easy/beautiful ride to Eureka and Arcata.

  • Great location, you can sit in the living room and see the ocean. Lots of open space so we could play games, watch TV, make food and eat in the same area. The bedrooms are set off so if someone wanted to sleep in or go to bet early those in the living room would not disturb them. Would recommend it for anyone staying in Eureka.

  • This is a great bargain for a large family. Very spacious, plentiful seating and lots of table space for eating, playing games, etc., in the living room. The king bed in the master bedroom is really amazingly comfortable— great linens and a superb mattress. The view in the morning is gorgeous, as well.

  • My wife and I stayed here for Redwood national park trip. We really enjoyed our staying here. The place was so clean and quiet, and we could enjoy great evening in the patio of the house. There are some grocery stores nearby so it’s convenient to get some food.

  • My boyfriend and I visited the area for my birthday last weekend, and we really enjoyed our stay. There’s a full kitchen, comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and everything was very clean. Check in was smooth, and the location is great! Thank you so much for having us. We will definitely be back again!

Quiet and safe looking dead end street with nice neighbors, close to a Winco grocery and plenty of restaurants and stores. Great selection of local pamphlets to help guide and plan our day. The Ranch House is the crown jewel of a 22-acre bayfront property that is steps to the beach and a short drive to the redwoods and the quaint towns of Eureka and Arcata. The Ranch House is the original family house of a former 22 acre ranch on the Samoa Peninsula. The ranch is now part of Humboldt Bay Social Club, a small vacation rental resort, boutique hotel, event space and Lobby Bar.
The Ranch House has 2 Bedrooms (1 King and 1 full) and 2 full baths. The original Ranch house was just about to topple when we began its restoration. We have stayed true to the historic character and architectural features of the home while opening up the main living space. Guests will find original and reclaimed features throughout, including a Wedgewood cooking stove, salvaged redwood, and antique doors. The master suite has a sunlit clawfoot tub bathing area. The home has a fully equipped kitchen, childrens' toys and books. The home is a short walk (100 yards) to the beach. The Ranch House is the West Wing of the original farm house. The West Wing is a separate vacation rental, Suite 4. The wings are connected by a hotel-style double-locking down. Both wings can be rented together to create a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home for larger parties and families.
We are located at the end of the Samoa Peninsula, on Humboldt Bay. While it is just a short drive from both Arcata and Eureka, it is a rural area. There are five houses on the Oyster Beach property, all of which are vacation or short-stay rentals. Across the street, Samoa Field has four boutique hotel suites, a Lobby Bar and an outdoor picnic/grilling area. Other than that, we have few neighbors.
  • Can’t recommend highly enough. Plenty of space for four adults and two children + a dog. So much to do in the area, even just on the property. Come once and you’ll be back!

  • Such an amazing space and airbnb!! Maybe a tip though just to be a little more prepared to have food and wood etc to pretty much stay at the airbnb because the nearby towns of Eureka were kind of sketchy for us. But the grounds of the airbnb were great! Loved the ranch house!

    Kristina2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. The ranch house makes it easy for you to drop off your stuff and just get comfortable. The mud room is super useful. The scent of eucalyptus carried throughout the property and there were lots of beautiful places for our kids to explore, and my kids loved all the books and the dollhouse is adorable. We’ll never forget our time here. Just magical ✨ thanks Ronnie!!

    Sinead2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Be ready to relax in an amazing and unique space! Check in was a breeze and the house was perfectly appointed. I especially loved cooking breakfast every morning on the vintage stove! The master bathroom had an amazing shower with dual showerheads and great water pressure (which has been an issue in other Airbnbs I have stayed in). Even though there were other occupied units on the property, the Ranch House felt private and secluded, with excellent access to the bay and within an easy drive to Arcata and Eureka. Clean, quiet and comfortable, leaving was the hardest part of the stay. Can't wait to come back!

This apartment on the second floor offers a king size bed and love seat that pulls out into a twin bed. It also contains a Smart TV and dresser. Best of all, it offers a beautiful view of my back yard complete with redwood trees, fruit trees, and various shrubs that show off the lush green splendor of the forest. The stairs lead upward to an additional queen size bed , as well as the bathroom and kitchen.
This is an apartment in a 120 year old house. It has two main rooms, separated by a stairway, plus an alcove with an extra queen bed as you will see from the photo. Note the slanted ceiling over the queen size bed. The stairway can be a bit steep for the elderly or infirm. It is generally quiet in the apartment, and is free of all traffic noises. Though it comfortably sleeps 5 people, because it is an apartment in an old house, it is not appropriate for a large, noisy family with young children who could disturb the other tenants. My home is situated in Eureka and is within 6 minutes drive of Victorian Old Town with its quaint shops. Fine dining, museums, theaters, and incredible Victorian architecture can be found nearby. It is a 20 minute drive to Arcata, which is another jewel of the redwoods, and home to Humboldt State University. Traveling in any direction, within minutes you will find the ocean, fishing, surfing, numerous hiking trails, biking trails, rivers for rafting and swimming in, and mountains to climb. The Redwood forest is home to dear, elk, bear, fox, raccoons and skunk, some of which occasionally visit my back yard which butts up to one of the green belts in Eureka. Though my home is situated within the city limits, the wall of redwood trees within the green belt makes it feel very quiet, private and serene. Come! Enjoy!
My home is in a quiet neighborhood on a quiet street. There is plenty of street parking, but car doors should definitely be locked. WinCo, the largest market in Eureka, is just a few blocks away (within walking distance). You can get anywhere in Eureka within 6 minutes of my house, including the ocean, down town, organic food markets, Farmer's markets, shopping centers, and the hospital.
  • We slept well and enjoyed Susan's peaceful oasis in the midst of Eureka. With all the windows, it felt like being in a tree house. We would stay at this well equipped location again.

  • I’ve stayed at a lot of Air BNB’s and this is definitely one of my favorite! I was here five nights and it’s a really cute home in a great area. The patio overlooks big trees and there’s great parks nearby. Also the bed downstairs is super comfortable!

The Cabin at Humboldt Bay Social Club is a tiny, rustic space. Its outdoor kitchen and shower, composting toilet, and lovely views provide a "glamping" experience on Humboldt Bay. The Cabin is located on the 22-acre Oyster Beach, part of Humboldt Bay Social Club. Humboldt Bay Social Club is a vacation rental resort, boutique hotel, event space and Lobby Bar.
The Cabin is a short walk to the beach with views of the eucalyptus grove all around. The interior of the cabin is lined with maple plywood and features a cozy seating area with a fold-down leather futon and two loft sleeping areas. The kitchen and shower are outside on the covered deck. The outdoor kitchen has a small propane oven with cooktop, a farm sink and a mini-fridge. It is outfitted with cookware and diningware. The outdoor shower is enclosed on the porch (hot water is provided with an on-demand water heater). A gas fireplace heats the cabin. The small bathroom has a Nature's Head composting toilet.
We are located at the end of the Samoa Peninsula, on Humboldt Bay. While it is just a short drive from both Arcata and Eureka, it is a rural area. There are 4 houses on the Oyster Beach property, all of which are vacation or short-stay rentals (in addition to our private home). • Great spot nestled in the trees close to the beach. A great getaway weekend. I recommend arriving before dark because you will want to get acclimated with the outdoor kitchen and fire area while before it gets dark/cold. Be sure to bring an extra lighter and some dry fire wood if it is winter! The bath house and communal spaces are gorgeous as well. We will be back!

  • I had an amazing time. I'm a 50-something woman who wanted a trip to the Northwest Redwoods BY MYSELF. I love Cabin 5 and the entire property. A PERFECT getaway place for one person (and maybe 2-3 - a full bed and a twin bed). Would make a great girlfriend trip. Was just as advertised. Wish it were closer to an airport (the drive from SFO was long - 5 hours). But, it is one hour away in either direction (Eureka) from some of the most fabulous forests and hiking in the world (Redwood State and National Park - Fern Canyon, Ladybird Grove, Prarie Creek and Humboldt Park - Avenue of the Giants, Founders Grove and more). Bay on one side, ocean on the other. If you want a beach, its steps away in either direction. Beautiful driftwood trees on the beach and it was nestled in a Eucalyptus Grove. Very clean. The bathhouse was amazing but so was the outdoor shower (instant hot water and they supplied the soap, shampoo, and conditioner). The outdoor kitchen was convenient and easy to use. Had cooking stuff and plates. Didn't use the gas stove but it looked easy enough. Even had a microwave. Enjoyed french press coffee every morning. The bed was very comfy and I felt safe and secure in this tiny home. Even the composting toilet was easy to use and absolutely no smell (that was my fear). Even started my own fire in the firepit. Had no problem with phone signal - even watched some streaming video on my phone. Directions to getting in place were easy. Combo locks on gates and Cabin made it feel safe and easy (no keys necessary). Had the Humboldt Social Club had I wanted it, but was content in my cabin. If you would like to think you are adventurous but want a safe and doable adventure - this is great. If you want to feel like you are camping but don't want to sleep in a tent, this is PERFECT. This is not a 5-star resort, its 5-star camping. If that's what you are looking for, you won't be disappointed. I would definitely go back.

  • This amazing little treasure found on Oyster Bay was perfect for our needs. Privacy with a huge area pretty much to ourselves. No big deal was the compost toilet or the small frogs in the outdoor shower. We had bonfires 2 of 3 nights. They supply firewood, birchbark so easy peasy! Walked down to the beach with the dogs when the tide was out and in. Saw a huge beached jellyfish. Had the beach to ourselves. Coffee on the deck in the mornings was peaceful! Close enough to town so when one of the dogs was sprayed by a skunk could get tomato juice! Lol (kids were freaking out) no big deal really! It was clean with considerate items left to enjoy of local fare! If we head back to Eureka we would definitely stay again!

    Michelle2019-08-01T00:00:00Z

A 1 bedroom cabin on the beach of Humboldt Bay. Nestled in a eucalyptus grove 15 minutes from Arcata and Eureka, Waterfront 1 is scenic, rustic, and romantic.
Waterfront 1 is located on the 22 acre Oyster Beach, part of Humboldt Bay Social Club. Humboldt Bay Social Club is a vacation rental resort, boutique hotel, event space and Lobby Bar. Waterfront 1 was originally the caretaker's residence for the 100 year old property. It is located at the far end of Oyster Beach, just steps from the beach. An antique Wedgewood stove and hand-nailed salvaged redwood paneling frame huge windows looking out on the water in the kitchen. The enclosed porch, with its vintage Chesterfield couch and clawfoot tub, is the perfect vantage point for the sunrise. The master bedroom includes a full-sized sleeper sofa, ideal for families or friends willing to get cozy. A washer and dryer and cable TV add a few modern touches to what is otherwise a step back in time. The cabin sleeps 4. There is a king-sized bed and a pull out couch in the master bedroom (please let us know if you would like the pull-out couch made up for your arrival).
We are located at the end of the Samoa Peninsula, on Humboldt Bay. While it is just a short drive from both Arcata and Eureka, it is a rural area. There are 4 houses on the Oyster Beach property, all of which are vacation or short-stay rentals (in addition to our private home). Across the street, Samoa Field has 4 boutique hotel suites, a Lobby Bar and an outdoor picnic/grilling area. Other than that, we have few neighbors.
  • This was our 2nd stay here and it was as good as I remembered. What a special place to relax and unwind. Make sure you schedule enough time to really enjoy the property - walks on the beach, s’mores under the stars, and relaxing in the beautiful tub while watching the sunrise or set. We can’t wait to come back for our 3rd stay.

    Sarah2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and breathtaking, warm and comfortable. A real steal right on the water. Will definitely be coming back for play as this is a once in a lifetime boarding experience!

    David2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was one of the more unique and lovely Airbnbs that I've stayed in. Though we didn't get to see much of the scenery since the fog was pretty thick for our two day stay, it didn't really matter since the smell of the eucalyptus trees and the sounds of the water and small boats in the bay were wonderful enough. The inside of the cabin itself was roomy and stylish, and the soaking tub on the porch was more amazing to use in person. We used the cabin as our base for exploring Redwood National Park and managed to also pop up to the lobby bar to have some grilled oysters and sit by the outdoor fire to cook s'mores. We hope we can make it back one day!

    Kate2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to "get away from it all", enjoy nature and relax in a classy yet rustic and unique environment. Everything has been lovingly provided for!

    Theresa2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great and it is exactly like it looks in the pictures and found it to be exactly what we wanted for our visit to see our family in Eureka. We enjoyed the location right on the water, surrounded by nature and the homes very rustic, stylish touches. We appreciated the very quick responses of our host when we had a couple of minor questions about things, and they left some nice welcome amenities for us to make us feel more at home. My partner and 9-month old daughter loved the claw foot bathtub and my Eureka-based family thought this entire property was very cool, and talked about staying there for a vacation near home. It is always a pleasure when the location is exactly as described and shown in the pictures, and it really was perfect for our stay.

    Michael2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time we just found out we were expecting our son & this time we came with him. This home away from home is a very special place to us. This trip I left with a wedding proposal & we definitely plan on getting married here in the future. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this property. It is a very special place that we will definitely come back to for years to come :)

    Jessica2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Waterfront #1 is so amazing that this was our second time back - and it was even better than the first! Since our first visit in 2016 the Humboldt Bay Social Club has opened - a hip but casual respite for evening drinks after a day out enjoying kayaking, hiking and other outdoor adventures. The bartending staff was fantastic - we found a friend from our hometown, James, and had an awesome music conversation with Lindsey (yes, Lindsey, we downloaded the Bright Eyes album that night!). Our teenage son and his friend loved fort building on the bay beach steps from the cabin, and wave diving on the ocean side just a 5 minute drive away, the best of both worlds! The cooler, chairs and beach towels provided for beach trips were a nice touch. S'mores at the fire pit at night under the stars provided some of the best moments away from screens and the rest of the world. Seals and pelicans in the bay, frogs in the foliage to say hello to as I walked to the coffee bar in the morning. As you can surmise, it was all very magical. We can't wait to plan trip #3!!
