So if you book this experience, there's no risk to get a random temporary "wine guy " with just an average knowledge about French wines. Once you'll be seated in the charming tasting room in the heart of Latin Quarter, you will discover and taste 4 excellent French wines (2 whites and 2 reds) that you will pair with 4 typical cheeses and some pieces of French baguette. After a quick global introduction about French wine, you will go deeply into the wine regions, the labels of French wines, the grape varietals used etc... All information will be shown on a screen while I will explain in a casual and relax atmosphere details and facts. I'm also here to answer your questions! Wines are coming from small quality winemaker and the cheeses are coming from a famous local cheese shop from the Latin Quarter. You can buy the wine you prefer directly in the place after the tasting session.

Saint-Emilion Wine Tour Tasting from Bordeaux

Go off to explore the lovely medieval village of Saint-Emilion, listed as World Heritage Site by Unesco, and visit two wineries (a top winery classified Grand Cru Classé and a family-run estate Grand Cru) during a 5 hours guided tour with me, a fun & knowledgeable local guide speaking English. Your tour includes 2 wineries visit (introduction about the history of the estate and technical informations about how to make the wine), 6 wines tasting minimum in total and a French aperitif (cheese, cured meat & bread at the 1° or 2nd winery) OR sweet specialities from Bordeaux (macaroons from Saint-Emilion) depending on the day of the visit. I will drive through the vineyard of Saint-Emilion in my van and we will visit together the famous medieval village dating from the Middle Age. The wine tours are always in English. I can do bilingual tours (french & english) only during the afternoon. I offer 2 wines tours : morning (8.30am-1.15pm) & afternoon (1.30pm-6.30pm) The meeting point is in Bordeaux at : 1 place de stalingrad, in front of LCL Bank (with a beautiful view of the bridge :)) Make sure to have breakfast or lunch before ! In order to pass for an expert with those around you, I will accompany you to the discovery of four essential cheeses. During the tasting, we will examine in order: the visual, olfactory and taste components of the different cheese specialties, taking into account the importance of each criterion for its overall assessment. But, it does not stop at simple sensory examination, it is a total immersion in traditions and cultures unique in the world. The tasting will also be followed by a pleasant, convivial and gourmet moment around a selection of two wines, accompanied by homemade dishes.
