“Hidden in the heart of the KwaZulu Natal Drakensberg's Champagne Valley, located about ten kilometers from Winterton on the R600, visitors will find the Thokozisa Lifestyle Centre. The charming centre, which is covered by a thatched roof, was designed by a group of artists, and houses an impressive variety of small shops, galleries, playground, restaurant, bar and a tea garden, as well as the Central Berg Tourist Information Centre. ”

“rakensberg Brewery is a craft brewery set up in a hangar on an airfield in the heart of the central Drakensberg. The brewpub is situated in the brewery with spectacular views of the Drakensberg mountains. It is a great location to sit back and enjoy one of the fantastic Drakensberg Brewery beers on tap. The beers are available in 500ml, 300ml and tasting glasses. The menu consists of DIY platters where the customer can create their own platters from a selection of cold meats, cheeses, pickles, nuts and preserves. In addition to the great beer and platters, there is a small, carefully constructed winelist to cater for those who wish to enjoy the wonderful brewery atmosphere, but would rather not sample the beer. The brewpub is also an ideal venue for functions. Please contact us should you be interested in holding a function at our brewery.”

“There are a few great hikes from here, my favorite being the Gorge hike which follows the Tugela river. You will eventually get to big rock pools surrounded by massive boulders where you can swim and have a picnic.”

“Well known to all who travel this road, Scrumpy Jacks stock a wide range of items including wines, homemade jams and preserves, cheeses, farm biltong, delicious honey brittles as well as honey products and lots of other tasty goodies. Sit down to enjoy a fresh salad, served with a selection of light meals from toasted sandwiches to juicy steak rolls. In typical Farmstall style, the shop is filled with trinkets, souvenirs, kiddies toys and a few unique gifts to choose from for those back home. ”
