  • We had a wonderful stay at the cottage at Ballandean. Leanne and Andy were very welcoming and helpful and we found everything we needed to make our stay just perfect. We had the perfect quiet Christmas away from the craziness of the festive season but close enough to everything if we wanted to venture out. I would highly recommend Leanne and Andy's cottage and their kindness and hospitality makes for a perfect Granite Belt experience.

  • The cottage was so peaceful and beautifully appointed. The food and wine were wonderful and Leanne and Andy's enthusiasm and warm welcome made our short stay very special.

  • My partner and I had a great time at the cottage. It was very clean, had all the amenities we needed, very yummy home made bread and the place is very quiet. The wines are amazing and the staff at the cafe are very friendly. We did an amazing walk at the national park. We would definitely come back!

  • Such a cozy cottage in the perfect location for visiting wineries and Girraween National Park. The fireplace makes the place really warm and we had all the amenities we needed. The cottage itself is in a great spot on the property so you feel really alone and get great stargazing as well with no light pollution. Definitely recommend!

  • A very quiet location - no road noise. Great to have a BBQ on the verandah. Very central place to stay to enjoy the other vineyards. Would definitely recommend having a meal at this place.

  • The rose cottage was so much more then I expected. I’m incredibly grateful I found such a spectacular place to relax, unwind and reconnect with myself & nature! I was delivered a beautiful warm loaf of fresh bread on my first morning, the breakfast basket was sensational. The whole place was sensational. Thank you so so much.

    Ally2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Rose Cottage is the perfect place to unwind. The surroundings are just magnificent, very close to Girraween NP, and Bald Rock NP within reach. But you can also spend one day lazing on the veranda and watch the kangaroos, birds snd the two cows. Glenys and Anthony are two wonderful hosts, we got delicious, fresh bread, eggs and a breakfast basket the first day, very thoughtful of them. And the kitchen is well equipped. Highly recommendable.

Your own private retreat in the middle of Queensland's Granite Belt. Situated on a working vineyard, Kristy's cabin is a modular building that has been converted for guest accommodation. Recently renovated, the space is clean and fresh, with beautifully appointed interiors. Located behind the main house, you will have privacy but be able to access the outdoor spaces and take in the breathtaking views. Kristy's is the perfect base for busy outdoor hikers or those wanting a relaxing weekend away.
Although small, the space is warm and cosy and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Ideal for couples, the cabin features two separate bedrooms, separate kitchen and bathroom. The space has been renovated specifically for guest accommodation and is clean and warm. Bedroom one has a queen bed whilst bedroom two or living/lounge has a double bed pull out sofa bed. It will be predominantly set as living/lounge with quick and easy access to the bed. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, microwave, gas cooker and fridge. All utensils are provided. The outdoor patio has a potbelly stove for warmth and ambience. In addition to the inside spaces, there is also an outdoor pizza oven, firepit, and picnic areas to take in the picturesque surroundings and vineyard views.
Located just 10 minutes from Stanthorpe, the cabin is in a convenient location to access all the Granite Belt has to offer. Ballandean is in the heart of Queensland's wine country and is a popular destination for tourists all year round, but is most popular in the winter. Visitors come to enjoy the cool days and frosty mornings. There are at least 50 different wineries across the Granite Belt with many winning national and international awards every year for their products. If you need somewhere to start, join the Strange Bird Wine Trail, tasting your way through 30 Granite Belt wineries including the renowned Ballandean Estate Wines. There are many options for foodies on the Granite Belt, with restaurants showcasing local produce. Southern Queensland producers pride themselves on offering some of the best ‘paddock to plate’ food experiences in the state. The cabin is in the perfect location for those wishing to explore Girraween or Sundown national parks, or perhaps just take a bushwalk around the hills on the property. With breathtaking views, and clean crisp fresh air, the Granite Belt has all that is needed to relax and recharge even the most stressed out city slicker.
  • We had a lovely weekend at Kirsty’s place. It was a like ‘glamping’ - an outdoor experience (eating and sitting) with indoor modern conveniences (indoor bedroom, sitting room, kitchen/bathroom - each of these rooms are off an outdoor area). The queen bed was very comfortable and the sofa bed was okay for our daughter. The kitchen and bathroom were lovely (with wonderful local products). The space is very small but nice for a weekend (location is very convenient). There is heating but not cooling. We loved seeing the stars at night and really enjoyed the wine! Great weekend!

    Elinor2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and quirky the best of ways! Close to both Stanthorpe & Tenterfield the little converted granny flat was super cosy and had everything we needed and more for our overnight stopover. The cottage was clean and tidy and Kristy was easy to communicate with and super efficient on what could've been annoyingly-late notice. The stroll with a glass of wine back up the property at dusk made for a very special end to the day and I have to recommend it! Thanks again Kristy!

    Ross2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location and amazing hostess!

    Jacinta2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Strongly recommend Kristy's place to everyone. We had a great time staying at the vineyard. Kristy is a very approachable and prompt host. The place is great! Had everything we needed for a restful two nights and more. I hope to stay there next time I'm in the region.

    Daniel2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Was a comfortable stay wish we could stay longer and explore more.... thanks Kristy

  • Great location will be back.

    Darren2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kristy’s place was great. It was easy to find; communication was quick and clear and check in was simple. The space is three separate rooms off of an outdoor area (so you need to go outside to get between the bedroom/lounge area, kitchen/bathroom). As Kristy runs a gym in a nearby shed, there was a little bit of noise early in the morning, but nothing too loud. Overall it was a lovely place to stay.

  • We really enjoyed our 2 days here. Could have easily stayed for 3 or 4 days. So close to access the National Park, where we went for a few challenging hikes such as the Pyramids & Castle Rock. The Lodge has it's own short walks too, loved Cathedral Arch late in the day. Nice place to relax and enjoy bush surrounds and local wildlife such as wallabies & crimson rosella. Good place to have a digital detox & have a nice quiet night in front of the fire. Really friendly welcome from Kelly on arrival.

  • Expect nothing but serenity, nature and freedom. Amazing!

    Noela2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great hospitality, fabulous location, right next to Girraween NP. Kelly made sure my parents in their 80's had everything to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable. We all slept well, and appreciated the kitchen and the bush setting. We'll definitely be back!

  • We loved Giraween Environmental Lodge. It was perfect for a romantic and relaxing weekend away, with some great walks thrown in both onsite and at the national park just around the corner. I would love to go back when it is colder as well so we could take advantage of the fire and hot spa outside.

It is nestled at the base of a granite outcropped mountain on 330 acres with stunning scenery across Bald Rock Creek to Sirromet's vineyard. It truly is a 'A beautiful place' You won't want to leave!
'Amaroo House' is unique because of its unbelievable serenity. The house is nestled in to the base of a granite outcropped mountain that sits on 330 acres of beautiful granite country. The only thing you will see and hear is the abundant bird life and rock wallabies.
Ballandean is the heart of the Qld wine industry. Within only 10mins from the house are 15 wineries. Ballandean has a great Tavern and the local shop has an awesome Bakery! There is also a Chocolate Shop on your way up to Girraween National Park.
  • Great secluded spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. Very spacious with everything you need. The night stars are amazing for the eager star gazer. Right over the hill from the Girraween National Park. The area was extremely dry however, after a bit of rain will be beautiful.

    Jacki & Andrew2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Amaroo. Anne was a great host and everything was as we expected or better, say easy communication, easy check-in, beautiful and clean house, wildlife around the house, proximity to Girraween national park, tranquility, wood-fire for bbq and fireplace, uncomplicated house rules and specialty the complimentary bottle of wine. We look forward to come back again.

    Maziar2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is ideally located with quick access to all the Granite Belt has to offer. The wineries, The Girraween Chocolate shop, Mt Sterling Olives and Fudge, The Cherry Shop, and Stanthorpe itself with the best bakery out (Zest). Amaroo is spacious and well appointed and had everything we needed. We loved sitting out in the courtyard area and watching the sun set over the trees, listening to the birds and watching the Kangaroos and Wallabies grazing in the morning and afternoon. Cannot wait to come back and spend some time sampling all this region has to offer. Next time we come to stay, hopefully the Bramble Patch will be up and running again. Until next time Amaroo! :)

    Yolande2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay, with ‘Amaroo’ being true to its name - a beautiful place! It was nice to get out of the city and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and your comfortable house. Thanks!

  • Lovely little Queenslander near Ballandean, 20 mins from Stanthorpe. Close to amazing wineries with wildlife and cows on the property. Felt like we were in "The Castle" or staying at Nanna's place. Sleeps 10 but only 1 toilet and shower. Internet reception very limited (could sit on front steps and get reception). No television reception but we didn't miss it. We watched some family movies on dvd which were supplied. Felt like a step back into history and would've love to have seen the place when it was first built. It had an old tennis court that is totally overgrown and unusable but you could imagine it would've given them some entertainment in the old days. Got a bit cold at night in the back rooms but once we worked out the fire place and threw on another blanket, it was fine.

    Carey2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Amaroo. The house is well equipped and we really appreciated the full kitchen. There are plenty of spaces to relax; out in the sun, in the outdoor dining area, by the fire, by the heater. Beds were super comfy, shower was nice and hot. It’s well located near town and Girraween National Park. Loved the night sky too!

Only an 8-10 minute walk from the local coffee shop we enjoyed each morning downtown. The location allowed us to be collected and dropped off easily for our wine tour and also to walk into town for dinner afterwards. We enjoyed a campfire under the stars and Glenn was super accommodating! Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a weekend to the Granite Belt!

  • Lovely spot. Cosy, private, quiet, comfortable, and with the fireplace, toasty warm even when the weather dropped below 0. My pup had a great time exploring the property. We couldn't connect to the wifi for some reason, and had no phone reception, but this was inconsequential and honestly pretty nice to disconnect. Jody was responsive in helping us try to get it sorted. Really good weekend.

  • The cabin is perfect to spend some quiet time in a secluded place. The owners left some wine, fruits, bread, eggs,... Everything was good. For those who want to explore the girraween national park, it is 20min away from the property.

Our council approved accommodation consist in three (one x bedroom)cottages Imagine the perfect country retreat and it would probably look something like 'Casita de Campo'. Peaceful, charming and cosy, the cottages are a graceful mix of period charm and modern facilities surrounded by 44 acres of vineyards and natural forest . We are happy to inform our guests that after the January 2020 rain our place is green and the water tanks are full.... so you can enjoy your spa ...Yeahhhh
Please note they are two separate cottages .Both 'Casita de Campo' and 'Casita de Bosque' cottages have a modern mood of harmony and restraint that replaces the traditional country look The one and two bedroom self contained cottages reveal a new, refreshing country style that is cleaner, purer, pared down to its essence. In both cottages we offer our guest handmade organic shower gel and soaps by Washpool.
Only 7 kilometres from Stanthorpe, approximately 220km south west of Brisbane - with an altitude of 1.015m above sea level, visitors can enjoy cool weather every season. Only minutes from 4 National Parks - Girraween, Sundown, Boonoo Boonoo and Bald Rock. 5 minutes to Wineries, Cafes and Restaurants. Easy aess to the Granite Belt Bike Trail. The trail provides cycling links to major wineries in the area, running 34km between Stanthorpe and Ballandean.
  • Silence. That's the keyword, it's so tranquil and relaxing sitting out on the front porch hearing nothing but the wind and birds. Very friendly hosts and fantastic facilities. Perfect weekend escape from the hustle and bustle

    Chris2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just lovely!!!! Could have stayed forever !!! Lovely breakfast. Firer wood / everything thought of !!!! The cabin is just lovely

    Cassandra2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located to explore the Granite Belt. For foodies, Maria’s place offers everything you could need to create a gourmet feast from the fresh produce you collect during a day exploring. Normally we travel with condiments and trusted kitchen items, but the kitchen was so well stocked we didn’t need to. It’s a lovely setting and you relax immediately on entering the driveway. Maria’s basket with a home baked tea cake, fig jam, fruit and fresh eggs from their chooks was a lovely touch and much appreciated. We will certainly return.

    Irene2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We can't wait to visit! Our trip had to be suddenly postponed and Maria helped us change and reschedule our trip. So kind and thoughtful, quick and easy communication. We can't thank you enough and are so excited to visit soon!

  • Beautiful cottage! Has all the right little touches..very clean, comfortable and homely.. loved our stay so much!

    Alexandra2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a cozy and comfortable retreat away from the business of the city. We stayed three nights but wish we could have stayed longer. Meticulously clean and beautifully furnished, it was an ideal place to rest and recharge.

    Jenny2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my partner spent three amazing nights at Casita de Campo and we could not have loved it more! The house is so beautiful and has the coziest vibe so we felt at home immediately. My highlight was to sit in front of the open fire in the beautiful living room and just listen to the sound of the fire. I honestly did not want to leave and go back home! Thank you again Maria, we would love to come back!

Silky Oak Cottage is a quaint cottage situated close to the town centre of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt. Walking distance to walking tracks along the creek, shops, cafes and restaurants. The cottage has the bathroom and living area downstairs with a romantic queen bedroom upstairs. The cottage is perfect for couples and furry friends (pets). Please note a two night minimum stay is required. A three night minimum stay is required over Easter and Christmas periods
Modern downstairs living area which includes kitchen, bathroom and living area with a gorgeous spiral staircase leading to the loft bedroom (queen bed) which has French doors opening to a private balcony.
The cottage is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops and the beautiful walkways along Quart Pot Creek. You will find the locals extremely friendly and welcoming.
  • The Silky Oak Cottage is beautiful - picture perfect from the outside and cosy inside. It was an excellent base for a relaxed weekend in Stanthorpe. The fire was a lovely amenity on a cold wet evening! The cottage is within an easy walk of the centre of Stanthorpe and is close to the start of the bike trail to Ballandean. Debbie was great to deal with and I would highly recommend.

    Phil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend Silky Oak Cottage to any couple looking for a peaceful getaway in a tasteful ambience. Debbie responded promptly to our queries. The cottage is sparkling clean.

    Peter2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. A beautiful cottage and very thoughtful touches by the host (e.g. even had breakfast items provided like bacon, eggs etc).

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage and surroundings, close to town, can walk anywhere. We had a great time there

    Callum2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly cute cottage, inside and out. Perfect for our romantic getaway. We didn't get an opportunity to use the fireplace, but will do so on our next visit to Stanthorpe. Very convenient location, a short walk from an amazing restaurant down the road called Anna's (bookings required). A little further down the road is a creek with lovely pathways for walks in the early morning and late afternoon. Birds, friendly locals walking their dogs, and a cool bridge are things you are likely to encounter/see. Debbie's cottage is in a great location for those wanting the convenience of staying close to town.

    Kelly2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie’s cottage is tastefully designed, spotlessly clean and well appointed for that special weekend away. The cottage is conveniently located with a short walk into Stanthorpe. Debbie responds quickly to emails/texts and makes your stay super easy to organize.

    Claire2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, Debbie was happy to accommodate our extra requests. The cottage was very cute and had everything you needed. Allowing dogs is a massive win for us! We stayed just after the fires in Stanthrope and Debbie was very helpful leading up to the visit with our concerns. If anyone is having doubts about visiting Stanthrope because of the fires and drought - it is actually the perfect time. The locals need your support and everything is still open and operating.

    Cassie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a place in Stanthorpe! It’s cozy and I wouldn’t attempt the spiral stairs alone after a few glasses of wine, but that would be my only proviso for future guests. It’s beautifully intimate and stunningly presented, with lovely little touches. Being quite a romantic setup - inside and out - I look forward to returning when it’s colder with a plus one and staying for more than one night. Debbie was a dream to deal with. Even though we didn’t meet face to face, she was very responsive before, during, and even after my stay. We really need to support this area. Local businesses are dying with the prolonged drought and now, of course, the fires.

The Quarters is a small, and very private, self contained cabin. Separate bedroom has a very comfortable queen sized bed, and there are bunks in the living/lounge/kitchen area. Separate shower room with toilet. All beds have electric blankets, there's a good heater, fridge ,electric frypan, microwave, toaster, and hairdryer. Pretty much everything you need!
There is secure, undercover parking for a vehicle/motorbikes. The Farm is also host to some rescued wildlife (kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos) as well as the world's biggest and naughtiest sheep, Bella, and some other extraordinary and crazy animals. Enjoy a fire in the firepit and take in the expansive night sky and stars on a clear night. It's magic.
  • Liz is a fantastic host. She kept us updated on local conditions and what was on. It’s lovely having all the farm animals close by.

    Adrian2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place, we loved all the animals especially Gerry the sheep! Highly recommend staying here!

    Leisa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay the animal feeding time was so much fun and we enjoyed Molly and Bella's visits. An experience and memories we will keep from our holiday.

    Kirstie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a working farm, although at the time of visiting struggling with the drought. The Quarters are not modern, but they are clean and comfortable. Liz is the best host we have ever had in many Airbnb bookings! She is friendly, considerate and a mine of useful local knowledge. She is also an amazing cook! You will need to like animals as they are wandering around freely and are friendly and inquisitive. We loved them! Come and visit - you won't regret it!!

    Jan2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Liz is an excellent host - John, Liz and all the animals (too many to name) were very welcoming and extremely interesting. If you’re looking for a quiet piece of the country to relax then look no further. The kids didn’t want to come home.

    Andreas2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful tranquil stay, with all the perks of farm life, the kids loved feeding the pigs and all the friendly animals. The roast dinner and dessert was delicious. Liz was a wonderful host

    Kelsey2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and John are very friendly. Great place to stay and would highly recommend the roast dinner option (only $20 extra and a great meal)

    Dominic2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a friendly and generous host! Liz took great care of all of us and made us feel at home :) we were also lucky enough to cuddle and feed a baby wallaby! As well as chill out with lots of other farm and wild animals who obviously all know how lovely Liz and Jon are. A truely memorable Australian experience!

    Krysha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little studio cottage situated close to wineries and hiking trails yet only a short drive to Stanthorpe that has everything. Very clean and perfectly set up accommodation for 1 or 2. Bev was a fantastic host and great to have a chat to. Daisy the dog is such a beautiful girl who wants to love you and play. Sit back with a herbal tea (provided) and watch the sunset over the surrounding granite rocks and national park. I had the BEST sleep ever. Thank you Bev and Daisy!

    James2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bev's place was immaculate, peaceful and relaxing. Daisy the border collie is a bundle of joy and Bev was so thoughtful and engaging. The location is close enough to everything. Highly recommend this gem.

    Douglas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Bev's place was perfect for a relaxing, de-stressing weekend away in the Southern Highlands. It was great to enjoy the cool nights, without the humidity that Brisbane has in February! We slept well in the comfortable bed and enjoyed the total peace and quiet that goes with staying somewhere down a remote country road. Bev will give you helpful hospitality if you have a little request (in our case - extra ice!), but she is a very discreet, unobtruxive host. There is a fire pit and a chimnea outside in the garden if you visit during the peak season when the nights are cold. Highly recommended !

    Duncan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The granny flat is lovely and had everything we needed. It was nice being a short drive from Stanthorpe and staying amongst beautiful nature. Bev was a kind and friendly host and we highly recommend staying here. We’d love to come back!

  • If you’re travelling to Tenterfield as a couple, or even solo you, will love staying at Danni’s beautifully renovated old style cottage which by the way is not tiny at all. It was fabulous to walk into this incredible space after a long drive. The cottage was sparkling clean and beautifully furnished. Gorgeous linen on the bed and plenty of extra blankets available if you needed them. There was milk in the fridge and croissants available for breakfast each day as well as a pod coffee machine with plenty of supplies together with teabags and sugar. There was also an abundance of firewood and kindling, etc. to light a fire. It’s a short walk to the town centre. I can’t fault the place.

A beautiful country home nestled in Glen Aplin, a 10 minute drive south of Stanthorpe. With so much to see and do, you're only a short drive from popular bushwalks, wineries and the many attractions that the Granite Belt has to offer. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 3 couples, plus an extra single bed and a set of bunks ideal for smaller children. There are 3 bedrooms inside the main house and 1 bedroom in a cabin about 30metres from the house. A portacot & high chair are available.
We have a beautiful and peaceful 40acre property, with views to Mt Tully and surrounding hills. We also border the Severn River where you could do fishing/canoeing or just relax by the river in a very quiet and secluded spot or even have a picnic by the river, unfortunately at the moment Stanthorpe is in drought and river is very low. There is a wood fired sauna available, where you can relax in the evening. The front deck is a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the views or have a BBQ. If you require extra space we also have a cabin 180m from the cottage that can be booked through Airbnb as well, this can accommodate an extra four people.
We have a number of wineries and cellar doors, cafes, gourmet foods, restaurants, olive farm in close vicinity. If bike riding is your thing, then that is also possible as we are only less than a kilometre from the Granite Belt Bike Trail (Bicycles can be hired from Stanthorpe or bring your own). For the hikers the popular Girraween NP is easy access from our place only 25km away on along New England Highway.

  • Merja and Jarmo's cottage is so homely and easy to stay in. We spent a lot of time on the front deck, eating, drinking, playing games and reading or chatting. We spent two days at Girraween NP which was amazing (though very hot already!) and we did a wine tour, with Maxi Tours who came recommended by the hosts and was very good. Stanthorpe is very close for grocery shopping and Tenterfield is a town with lots of character and history and worth a visit. The only downside for me was the lack of phone reception at the property most of the time. I am with Optus and I'm sure the phone reception is better with another company, but just something to be aware of! Highly recommend this place regardless of that though! Thanks for having us and for the speedy communication to all messages.

  • Beautiful, peaceful rural setting. The house is very clean, well equipped and comfortable. I’d recommend staying there to unwind in the country and great to be able to take our dogs with us.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Scott's place. He made us feel welcome and shared his knowledge of the local area. The farm was amazing and a lovely haven to come home to each evening after a day full of adventures. We are planning to return to Scott's place in the near future so we can take some more time to visit all of the many different attractions that the Stanthorpe area has to offer. Well worth the visit.

Wyberba Station is a renovated Queenslander style home, situated on 28 acres. The house is only minutes down the road from the gorgeous Girraween National Park so it is a perfect base for those who love the outdoors - yet love the comfort of home also. With enough room for friends and family, you'll love spending time by the fire and seeing the sights!
In the midst of wine country, Wyberba Station is a 20 minute drive south of Stanthorpe. It's situated next to the site of the old Wyberba Railway Station. To get there, turn onto Pyramids Road or follow the turn off for the Girraween National Park. Wyberba Station had been set up as a fully functioning 3 bedroom house. The house has a wood combustion heater - ideal for cold winter nights. Alternatively, there is also a reverse cycle air conditioner if you'd prefer. The Granite Belt region gets cold in winter - so don't forget your warm socks! We are located on 28 acres, which has a number of old farm trails - so we've created a 1km bush walk through the property which leads past Accommodation Creek - which is perfect for picnics. Of an evening, you'll be able to sit by the fire, drink wine and watch the Kangaroos and Wallaby's come in to feed. Whether its for star gazing or bird watching - this property is a tranquil place to rest and recuperate. Whilst we have all the kitchen equipment you'll need, however we don't provide any Food or Drinks - please BYO. (Basic Tea/Coffee provided) The area has recently been hit with fire and drought - but don't worry, our property has largely been unaffected (except for the brown grass of course). The Girraween National Park is still open, and updates can be found on: https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/park-alerts/16209.html
We have a couple of wineries down the road. They include the Pyramid Road Winery and Bald Rock Winery.
  • A nicely renovated historic residence close to places to visit. Wallangarra training station cafe, wineries and chocolate shoppe etc. Includes visit from friendly wildlife (Roos) in the early morning. Two nights stay minimum....

  • This home is perfectly located if you want a country escape and is walking distance to a few of our favorite wineries in the area. Pyramids Road and Girrawean Estate. A real find, the house is stylishly comfortable and the hosts are thoughtful and fantastic to communicate with.

  • The house is very nicely decorated, cosy, very clean, lovely location near Giraween National Park and with a nice vibe. Huge property with loads of bushland where kangaroos feed morning and night. Lovely and peaceful. Rural but not isolated.

  • We stayed for 4 nights (4 adults and 2 young children) and we all enjoyed the stay very much. We appreciated the attention to details, the kitchen was fully equipped, everything looked clean and the beds and seats were comfortable. The owner was super responsive before and during the stay. We had a great time around the fire outside and enjoyed the fireplace inside too.

    Nogah2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located for exploring the region. The house is thoughtfully appointed and beautifully renovated and styled. It is very lovely and relaxing to stay in.

  • Lynette’s place is super comfy and clean . Great location for exploring Girraween and the wineries. Roos every night with a great indoor and outdoor log fire. Lynette was super helpful when we ran out of gas. Got in contact straight away and generously compensated us for the inconvenience. A really great stay, highly recommended .

  • Jackie is a wonderful host who takes great pride in the presentation of Burn Brae cottage. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. The colourful bird life is quite prolific, as were the wallabies. Cottage is in a great location to the many wineries in the area and other local attractions. Thank you for a terrific stay Jackie.

    Francene2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay to get away from the city. So close to Girraween so we could get up early and walk. Beautiful birds visiting the cottage, surrounded by wallaby’s and Roos. Cottage was perfect for the kids and I.

    Leah2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie’s home is much bigger than I expected and very close to several good wineries including Symphony hill! There are a couple of good local dining out options for when you run out of cheese and wine! We were kept beautifully warm with our fire overnight toward the end of winter. Jackie’s welcome and hospitality were what we expected for a ‘country’ stay but it’s always lovely connecting city and country and understanding the challenges out here as well as the beauty. Amazing bright blue skies in the day are outdone by the biggest, brightest star filled sky at night. The beds were comfy and the fire place in the main lounge room kept us cosy all night. We would be very happy to return again and hope to see your native bee apiary Jackie. We wish you and your neighbours all the very best with the current severe bush fire situation.

    Gemma2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Close to the local wineries, Stanthorpe and Tenterfield. The beds were very comfy and snuggly on a cold winters night. Good to get out and walk around the property. Jackie was lovely.

  • Jackie’s place is just lovely. It is in a great location for visiting Stanthorpe, vineyards or exploring Girraween. Jackie is very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Jackie’s place.

  • I have stayed at Briar Cottages twice now. Debbie is a great host who goes out of her way to ensure you have everything you need to make your stay a great one. The cottages are immaculate clean, have lovely touches to make you feel at home and welcomed. Puppies are allowed which is a great bonus. Book a stay at one of the 3 cottages that Debbie provides and you won’t be disappointed.

  • Mulberry cottage is cosy, cute and comfy. A delightful place to stay in Stanthorpe. A very considerate host.

    Claire2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie was an excellent communicator and made everything, including check in, clear. Mulberry cottage was very clean and attractive. The weather was unseasonally warm and so the air-conditioning came in very handy. It was handy to town and had all the facilities we needed. If you are very sensitive to the sound of traffic it might bother you at some times with a handful of trucks going by but I thought it was light and quiet. I also think staying in Stanthorpe itself is good value for money.

  • A pleasant stay .

    John2019-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful cottage with all amenities. Totally exceeded our expectations. Had a fully equiped kitchen including a stove and oven, & a large fridge and freezer. Beds & bedding were an absolute pleasure. We only stayed for 1 night, but it would be a great place for a longer stay. Even had a washing machine ... like I said ... all the comforts of home. Excellent!

    Kathryn2019-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Mulberry Cottage for two nights in November. The cottage was clean, quaint and cosy with small touches like flowers, tea and Tim Tams adding a lovely touch. The cottage was well located and only a short stroll to the main centre. The beds were super comfy and we made use of the fireplace on a very cool night. The cottage is also pet-friendly which is a bonus. We had such a lovely time in Stanthorpe and would highly recommend staying here. Communication by Debbie was excellent and very responsive. Thanks again Debbie!

The railway cabin was stylish and comfortable with lovely polished wooden floors, super comfy bed, and well-set up and easy-to-use bathroom and toilet. I'd happily stay again.

The carriages were very well-maintained, clean and the decorations added a homely touch. The property was full of wildlife that’s rarely seen in the cities. Rik and Jodie were awesome hosts. They were very friendly and generous. We enjoyed a lovely dinner with them.

Now with wood burning fire place, the heritage listed 1950's bungalow cottage sits adjacent to the historic CWA Federation home in the heart of Tenterfield. Two bedrooms, Italian leather lounge and arm chairs, original kitchenette, fridge, bath tub, air conditioning, heating and relaxing verandas with gardens. 5 star hotel beds with line dried linen, fluffy towels and robes are provided for your comfort. Just a few steps from the main street, enjoy the cafe's and cute shops.
Serving the community as the baby clinic since the 1950's, this property has a rich and warm history which includes the Country Womens Association rest home for women. The renovation has uncovered beautiful timber floors and preserved the old cast iron sinks and bath. There is a bar fridge, microwave and induction top in the kitchenette if you want to cook, we do not provide breakfast but there are many dining options just 2 minutes walk away. Your kitchen is a 1950’s kitchenette but has everything you need to prepare a meal. Your bathroom has a shower over bathtub and is 10 STEPS ALONG YOUR VERANDAH so you will experience the highlands fresh air. Our heritage listing ensures that we do not change the layout. The bathroom and separate toilet have been recently retiled and are lovely. The Bungalow is fully heated but the few steps to the bathroom will be cold in winter! Most see this as a quirk of heritage and embrace -1 in the night, others may be annoyed so please consider, you can see it in the photos. The beds, line dried linen and blankets are 5 star quality and very comfortable, you can stay in and relax, sit on the verandah or venture out to enjoy everything Tenterfield has to offer.
Tenterfield is a beautiful town that experiences the four seasons. You can visit the markets on Saturday morning, and enjoy the cute shops and cafes in the Main Street. There are plenty of pubs and clubs to choose from, plus Thai, Chinese and Pizza if you would like to dine out. We recommend the Tenterfield Tavern for good pub food and The Potting Shed 2 doors away for the best coffee in town and delicious food. The Bohemian Cafe with its life size dolls house is great especially if you have children for morning teas or lunch and the Antique Shop across from the Tavern is fantastic.
  • A wonderful little place with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. Perfect location and we walked to a lovely dinner at the Commercial Boutique Hotel. The beds were the comfiest we have stayed in on our trip!! Thank you again :-)

  • Our stay at Julie's place was just amazing. Julie restored a historical house, preserving some key features, while adding her personal touch with a lot of comfort, thoughtful touches and taste. The house was so closed to the main street, within walking distance to local restaurants. Would have loved to stay longer in beautiful Tenterfield !

    Anna2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a fabulous little gem, walking distance to all the town of Tenterfield has to offer. Julie’s place is cosy and contemporary, with lots of features to keep you comfy. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back. Julie was also really flexible when we had to change our dates at short notice which we really appreciated. Definitely recommend a stay here. Also really recommend dinner at the Commercial Boutique, amazing food!

  • Karlene and her partner are working hard to being this historic hotel back to life and we wish them all the best in that endeavor. We stayed in the old hotel (as opposed to the new motel at the back). The bed was very comfortable and the linens were high quality. The hotel is quiet (we were there before it ope ed for food service). We were able to use the small kitchenette to prepare our breakfast. Definately check it out if you are staying in the area or drop by for a meal soon.

  • Great place when you just need a bed & a shower. Grand old pub thats a little dated but well maintained. Beds are comfy & the showers are awesome. Hosts are awesome!

    Luke2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were very thankful that Karlene allowed for such a late check in, as we were working nearby until very late. She was very flexible and had the resources to change our room to a twin single room, which we were super happy for. The shared style accommodation worked well for us, in fact we didn't see anyone else anyways so we had the amenities to ourselves. If I stay in Tenterfield again, I will definitely stay here as it great value for money. Thanks Karlene!

  • This pub is a real gem, built mid 18th century and has really held up due to being looked after so well. The hosts are great people and really helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer!

  • The Royal Hotel in Tenterfield was great, Karlene was very accommodating and I would recommend staying here to anyone.

  • The place is very neat and clean. The inside of the cottage looks fairly new renovated, complete with gas stove & oven, electric kettle & microwave and air-conditioning in the bedroom. Due to our time constraint we stayed there for one night only. Great stay, better than I expected.

  • This place is about 10 mins away from Stanthorpe, lots of wineries are around. It’s next to the high way and there’s a local convinent store right around corner. Not far from Girraween National Park either. The place itself is very clean, got everything you need. It’s very cute and cosy inside. Even though it’s almost next to the highway, we hardly notice any noise. We were there for 2 nights and we all enjoyed the stay.
