Places to stay in Glasgow
A real log cabin, warm and cosy, Secluded but not isolated. Private off road parking, local well stocked shop just a stroll away. Ideal for either a total relaxing experience or exploring some of Scotland’s finest lochs and glens. We welcome small - medium dogs, however they must be well behaved and under control at all times. We would appreciate that they do not go on the settee or bed.
  • Nice place in a not-too-selcuded area - just what I was after. The hosts are very friendly and full of tips for getting the best out of the local area.

  • Rogers place is lovely - the cabin is very cosy and clean, and has everything you need. There is plenty of room outside for the dogs to run around as well as a nice walk along the beach that Roger told me about. Would stay here again!

  • We had a perfect tranquil time at roger and beryl cozy cabin. We enjoyed every minute of it, loved to warm and home feel and the great kitchen which we used often to cook. We felt very welcome with the hosts, and they helped us with everything. I highly recommend this place for anyone wish for pure relax.

  • Beautiful, tranquil and secluded cabin. It is small but has everything you need. Very close to the supermarket and well located to explore Loch Lomond and surrounding areas. Roger was a helpful host

    James2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roger's place was wonderful and he was an even better host. My husband and I got a flat coming in from the airport and Roger came to pick us up off of the side of the road, dropped us and our luggage off at the cabin, then took us back to get our vehicle once our tire was changed. Great amenities and beautiful surrounding. Can't say enough great things!

    Katherine2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality and location!

    Gill2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet small and cute village about half an hours drive around the lake from Helensburgh township. Clean and cosy cottage though a large new fence at the back of the cottage made it feel different from the photos. Lovely touches from the host. Eg put the heater on for me prior to my arrival

    Annette2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly hosts and were available to help us if we needed. Would deffinetly go back.

Great getaway cabin on the Banks of Loch Lomond, fantastic views of the loch and surrounding mountains. A great base for enjoying the many water sports available on the loch, hill walking or simply a relaxing break. Continental breakfast included.
The cabin is self contained with an en suite shower room, TV and free WiFi. A substantial continental breakfast is provided within the cabin. There is a covered balcony area and garden. Our biggest asset without doubt is the unrestricted stunning views of Loch Lomond and surrounding mountains. We are in the village and within a five minute walk of all local amenities. If you are attending a wedding in the village we are located 50 metres from the church and a five minute walk to both local hotels.
Luss is an extremely picturesque village in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National (URL HIDDEN) is in a conservation area with many ancient buildings, the local church being of particular interest with hump back Viking grave stones. You can also enjoy many beautiful walks in the surrounding area.
  • Beautiful cabin, outstanding views, amazing host and such a gorgeous village. Cant speak highly enough of the experience.

    Kelley2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin directly on the banks of Loch Lomond. The view from the terrace was just gorgeous! We particularly liked the details that Alyson has thought of, such as the generous breakfast or the fluffy towels. Luss itself is also a pretty little village which gets quite busy during the day but is really quiet at night. Parking is also provided directly in front of the entrance.

    Hanyi2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We love, loved our stay with Alyson I. Luss. The cabin had the most spectacular, unexpected views and was absolutely beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable with great linens and the overall decor was modern and tasteful. Loved the attention to small details, the private entrance, and we were particularly impressed at the overly generous stocked fridge full of snacks, goodies, and things for breakfast. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend the property to anyone. A great value!

    Kristin2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time! Amazing views and lovely accommodation. The pictures make it look amazing but it is even better in person. Really homely feel with everything you could want provided in the accommodation. Thanks for a super weekend Alyson!

    Catherine2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous views of Loch Lommond. Clean space, attentive host. Perfect location to walk to everything in Luss.

  • Stayed in the cabin for two nights. Perfect place to escape for some peace and relaxation. Lovely, clean cabin and having access to a hot tub was a great addition.

    Julie2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lynda place was perfect for a chilled out girls weekend away. The cabin was very cosy, beds and couches all very comfy and heating was great as it was pretty cold outside. The way the cabin is decorated definitely adds to the experience and really gives a nice Scottish homely feel. Everything in the cabin is of high quality which was great to see. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to cook full meals. The hot tub area was great and the views were beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. There were plenty of lovely seating areas outside with bbq and fire pit which would be great in spring/summer. Unfortunately it was far too cold for us to use these. When we arrived Lynda greeted us and showed us where everything was and how everything worked. Also whenever we had a question or needed help during our stay Lynda got straight back to us. This was very comforting. We would definitely recommend the cabin and will likely return for another weekend away.

    Lucy2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean. Great communication.

    Nicola2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Recently arrived home and already gutted to be away from this great little place. This clean and cosy log cabin was great for a weekend away for my girlfriends birthday and was topped off by the private hot tub. Lynda was a perfect host - there to greet us on arrival and was available for any questions or queries we had, but also left us to do our own thing! Thank you Lynda for having us, we loved every second of it and miss it already. Neil & Meghan.

    Neil2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful log cabin and the hospitality was perfect. We couldn't have asked for more! Lynda is a wonderful host who gives you the best insights into where to shop and eat locally. We loved every minute of our stay and enjoyed the remarkable sunsets, relaxing on the porch of the log cabin. The hot tub was amazing for my back and added to the fantastic experience. The cabin itself is well equipped if you want to cook meals rather than dine out and the cleanliness is brilliant. We will definitely come back again and can only recommend this place. Just perfect!

    Benjamin2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lynda is a lovely host who is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would recommend the lodge with the hot tub for a two to three night stay. The setting is very peaceful with good views and easy walking in the countryside.

    Karen2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a quiet getaway. Lynda was a fantastic host and very accommodating, very family friendly too as we stayed with our daughter’s age 4 and 9 and they even got to go for a pony ride. I will definitely be booking again in the future and would highly recommend here.

  • Brilliant place to stay. Kieran was a very attentive host, even without meeting him. Everything you could want for and great quite location.

    Sue2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was everything we could have wished for, very happy with stay. A great location for us - maybe a 10 minute walk to Hillhead or to some favourite cafes currently around on Great Western. You can hop on a bus just one/two minute walk round the corner that will take you all the way to city centre, and Churchills (nearby convenience store) has upgraded since I was a student at Glasgow Uni! You can cook a nicy cosy dinner at home if you get rained in. We have a 10 month old baby so the private seclusion of the spot was also great for this - no need to worry about neighbours waking up at night, very thick old walls on the one side that connects. The rooms are on two levels, it is small in sq ft terms but makes great use of the space. Also: Kieran went out of his way to handle us and make our check in, check out easy. We also had a snafu with bags getting lost, all graciously handled not only by Kieran but friendly neighbours. Not that I'm suggesting you get your bags lost but people were very accomodating to us.

  • Beautifully situated in cute tiny mews so central yet quiet and lovely little garden to listen to the birds in. Well appointed and so many thoughtful touches provided to make it a wonderful weekend away that I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore Glasgow or just relax in the West End

    Tamar2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absoloutly wonderful! Great location and great facilities - felt like a home from home and lovely and private :-) can't recommend this place enough ! Great host!

    Julie2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage, clean. Well stocked. Great location, next to the botanical gardens for the kids to run around, and Bryers road for dinner. Straight forward communication. Lovely neighborhood and neighbors- good for a chat and advice.

    Kate2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Kieran's place. The location is fantastic - its really private and yet right in the heart of the West End. Kieran was a great host and provided everything we needed including a cot for our baby. This is a great wee place for couples to stay for a getaway in Glasgow and I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Jo2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kieran made our experience great! He was a great communicator and his listing was really nice. We were able to walk most places in the West End and it was easy to catch an Uber/taxi. Nice hot shower/fireplace/tv/wireless/comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.

  • The cabin is such a wonderful getaway from normal busy life. It's super cute with absolutely stunning surroundings. We stayed as an end of exam treat and absolutely loved the cabin and the hot tub. Lynda is a great host and the optional breakfast was an added bonus :)

  • We stayed here for one night and it was the perfect getaway. The location is excellent, secluded and peaceful. The log cabin exceeded our expectations, it's a good size with great amenities. The hot tub is amazing, definitely the best part and is right next to the cabin. We would definitely stay here again, excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Tiny eco cabins for 2 in woodland in the beautiful National Park. Complete seclusion, outdoor bath on the decking (not traditional hot tub), solar lighting and twinkling fairly lights, candle lanterns and wildlife passing your door. The cabin is a beautiful bedroom and an en-suite with covered living area outside with your bath, seating area, cooking area and wood burning stove. Fluffy towels and robes await you to relax in.
A double bedroom and outdoor seating and living area. En-suite shower room. If you cannot find availability see Fox's Den, Red Squirrel's Dray or Badger's Sett
  • Really nice little lodge - definitely the seclusion we were looking for, and a really convenient location for getting the most out of the Trossachs. Hosts were lovely, and able to sort out some small issues we had on Day 1. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to people who embrace seclusion, and an eco-friendly outlook.

    Phyroze2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely magical. The cabins are very private and have a luxurious feel to them- unlike other pods/cabins we have stayed at. Bed is so comfy and fire outside is so cosy, hosts are great and make a real effort to make your stay as relaxing as possible. I also really loved how eco-friendly the cabins are. We will definetly be back!

    Kym2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place and location! No plug sockets or indoor lights so bring a portable charger and a torch!

    Mark2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Red Squirrel cabin and it was fantastic. It was very secluded along a wooded path and was exactly how it looks in the pictures. The shower was excellent and the bed very comfy. It's a lovely place to spend the evenings amongst nature with the wood burner. There are also cards and board games provided in the cabins which was a nice touch We were told that a breakfast pack was no longer being provided on arrival which made it slightly less value for money, but we did get a bottle of prosecco which was appreciated. Fiona was very helpful with directions when we tried to follow the satnav (don't do that). Thanks for a lovely cabin!

    Robbie2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona’s cabin was amazing and relaxing. We had an absolutely amazing time and would definitely go back and stay again.

Self Catering - comfortable, refurbished chalet in the grounds of Creity Hall, near the village of Doune. The Chalet has underfloor heating, bath and shower facilities. One double/one twin or 2 doubles, open plan kitchen, dining and living space. Charges apply for pets to stay. Max 2 pets
The chalet is set in the grounds of Creity Hall, a Victorian Villa dating from 1881. The Hall is now a luxury bed and breakfast Creity Hall is set off the route from Stirling to Callander which is one of the main routes to the Trossachs mountains. The location is 2 minutes from Deanston distillery where guests can enjoy a distillery tour and excellent coffee house. 5 minutes away is the fantastic Scottish Antiques Centre and Doune Castle (home to Monty Python and the Holy Grail film location) . Within a 10-20 minute drive are the town of Callander and City of Stirling which boast many tourist attractions including Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, the Old Jail and Church of the Holy Rude. The famous Gleneagles Hotel and golf course are less than 20 minutes away. There are many local golf courses and fishing courses for enthusiasts to enjoy. We are happy to arrange tee-times and fishing permits as required.
Although we are near to a main road, the chalet is an extremely peaceful place to be. Doune is a great little village about a 10 minute walk away with a couple of pubs and coffee houses to choose from.
  • Even after arriving slightly later than expected and having another guest unaccounted for, Karen made us feel welcome. The chalet was presented nicely, clean with many modern features. We were down for the Hillclimb, with the location just a minute drive from Doune it made travel easy. Next time we're down for the weekend we'll be looking to return. Well worth the visit.

    Dean2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is one of the best places I have stayed in, set in a beautiful part of the world. My friends and I stayed here for the Stirling Marathon. Check in was easy, we had everything we needed. Karen personally went out of her way to show us the marathon route in her car, she gave us advice on where to park the car to get to the start line, she was so incredibly helpful. We had a truly fantastic time and we wished we could have stayed longer as Karen made us so welcome, she really went out of her way for us and way above and beyond what we expected. The chalet was just perfect, lovely and clean, the shower was great, the beds were very comfortable and we had lots of space. It's a little home from home and we would definitely stay here again.

    Michelle2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location close to our family. Great outside space for the children to run about and if you like running, some beautiful runs locally. Accommodation itself is a perfect size for a family of 4 or 2 couples.

    Kerrie2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay at the Chalet. The location was great to explore Stirling and the Trossachs. The place itself was very confrotable. I'd recommend this place to anyone with a car who wants to explore. The only downsides were weak WiFi (Karen let us use the main house's, but it was spotty), no laundry and no basic foodstuffs. Still, I'd definitely recommend this place.

    Grant2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was very helpful in working with us on our arrival, and assisting us. Location is accurately described, easy to find, and we loved visiting nearby Doune and Stirling. Chalet is cozy and private, very nice for a stay.

    Dave2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is an amazing host. We will recommend to everyone! Me and my husband will be back, really worth the money and travelling. So close to Stirling so we were allowed to go to the castle and lots of shopping. Well worth it x

    Simon2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage at Creity Hall was a great place to stay! It was very clean, was well equipped for self-catering, and the location was excellent for visiting local sites, as well as for longer road-trips. With two bedrooms and a lovely kitchen/living room, it worked great for our family of four. Getting in to Stirling to visit the castle was a short, easy drive. A surprise highlight of our trip was our visit to Doune Castle- the audio tour by Monty Python alums was fun and informative. From the cottage, Doune Castle is an easy (about 1 mile) walk that goes across the bridge and onto a footpath along the River Teith. Highly recommended!

Welcome to Wardpark. Nestled at the bottom of Ward Wood, it's not remote but you'll feel like your miles away. There are only 2 lodges at Wardpark so it's extremely private but watch out for nosey neighbours! The sheep, cows & horses from the surrounding farms sometimes come over to say hello. The cottages are perfect for family, friends or couples and whether you love walking, cycling or just lounging around, this peaceful country retreat is perfect for all. Bring your camera! With Ben Lomond to the west and the Menteith Hills and Lochard Forrest to the North you will never be bored of the views. The lodges have stunning views of the sun setting over the hills and on clear nights the stars are breathtaking (be sure to make a wish!) The grounds are mostly pretty woodland with a burn flowing through and large pond so lots of wildlife to see and explore. There is a shared Shed for kit drying & bike clean & store plus The Bothy with lots of games, books and maps of the area. Feel free to hang out, the views here are the best so pull a chair and blanket out onto the verandah, relax and enjoy (have a wee dram on us from a local distillery) Activitites. Where do we start! There is so much to see and do - see our local area page which has useful links which you can check out before you come or help yourself to information provided at the Bothy.
  • Lisa and Kenny's retreat provided the perfect getaway. Cosy, comfortable and incredibly peaceful, the cottage is a short drive away from Loch Lomond and many of the area's other attractions. The hosts were extremely helpful, friendly, and quick to respond with all of our queries. We thoroughly enjoyed it here and definitely hope to come back in the future.

  • We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! The cabin was immaculate, cozy and had everything we needed for our short stay. It was cold but there were lots of heaters which warmed the place up nicely. A really excellent base for exploring the Trossachs and Loch Lomond national park. The guides to the area in the Bothy were really helpful. Lisa and Kenny were welcoming and responsive, thank you!

  • We`ve spend 4 days in Cnoc-Cottage and had a great time there. It was very cosy and offered everything we needed. Is it very well located to explore the region of Loch Lomond and Glasgow. We can really recommend hiking up Conic Hill.

    Isabel2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my boyfriend were for 4 days in that cottage. For us it was a perfect play to stay. That place was just perfect and we did a lot of hiking! We´d highliy recomment that cottage.

    Marina2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is quite small but perfectly adequate for a couple. It was clean and had everything we needed. Is it very well located to explore the region of Loch Lomond and Stirling.

  • Cosy little cottage - perfect getaway for me and my gf to celebrate her 21st. Shower was hot, bed was comfy and the place had a warm and snug atmosphere.

    Charlie2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was immaculate when we arrived and was very cozy and quaint. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

    Caitlin2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip here was very relaxing and stress-free. Really clear communication with Lisa before the trip and then very easy check in and check out. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed including a folder of information about the local amenities and nice walks nearby, and a BBQ that we used out on the porch on a few nights. While the cottage is just off a main road, there isn't much noise from it. The cottage is surrounded by fields of horses and sheep and amongst lots of trees, which makes it feel quite secluded and remote. There is another slightly bigger cottage right beside this one, across the small pond, and the main house is just through the trees, which is perhaps unclear from photos. When we stayed here there were no other guests until our final nights, so we didn't really see anyone else around and felt like we had the place to ourselves. There is a little bothy just up the path from the two cottages, which had more tourist information in it, and things like a herbs/spices rack, a sewing kit and a first aid kit, along with some sofas and books. We didn't really use it, but it was a really great additional space to have access to. Overall a really great stay, thanks!

This stunning lodge at Rowardennan is on the eastern shores of Loch Lomond at the foot of Ben Lomond. The West Highland Way runs adjacent to the site and there are many other walks nearby. The lodge looks right out towards Loch Lomond with amazing views over the surrounding mountains.
There is a sauna in the lodge so you can relax and get away from it all. Chill out on the decking until the sun goes down on hot summer nights.
    Great area for many walks
  • Amazing place with lots of activities. We had a wonderful time and our host was very hospitable. Would defiantly recommend to others looking for a relaxing get away.

  • What an amazing place to stay. The cabin has anything and everything you could imagine. Beautiful inside and out and decorated beautifully. Hiking is right there and so is the water, which is great for soaking sore knees after the hike. Checking in was so easy and any questions are already answered before you need to ask. We had a fantastic time and bagged a Munro.

  • We loved our stay here and found it hard leaving! The cabin was of very high standard, lots of lovely small touches and Doreen even stopped by with candles when the power was cut for an hour or so. Right by the Loch with gorgeous views of Loch Lomond and Ben Nevis. We would love to stay again and confidently recommend staying here.

  • Flat is in a great location. A handy welcome pack was supplied. Overall the flat was good, just a couple of small issues with cleanliness which I'm sure will be resolved.

  • Linda's Appartment is in the perfext location for those wanting to explore Largs all of the atteactions are within walking distance, yet the location is quiet and tucked away from the main street. We were greeted after a long drive with the keys to the extremly clean appartment. Along with a lot of info on the area and places to eat and attractions. We will definatly be booking again if we return to Largs.

    Lee2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally placed flat, good for getting around Largs easily. Clean, but a few niggles with a non-working oven and broken toilet lid let it down. Really appreciated the central heating on the cold days.

Privately owned and run, Sandwood Lodge is our cosy self catering log cabin that we use ourselves from time to time. It is situated at Rowardennan on Loch Lomond in Scotland. It is just 50 meters from the waters edge on a quiet, private estate. Think about clear starry nights away from city traffic and noise, to walks wrapped up against fresh and crisp bright winter days. Or in summer take trips away and explore Rob Roy country, The Trossachs or the mountains of Argyll and the north to Oban.
Our log cabin is on a private estate which is right on the waters edge of Loch Lomond. There is a long sandy beach which faces west and it gently slopes into the water. We provide all bed linen, towels, tea towels, washing up liquid and hand soap, along with starter bin bags, dishwasher tabs, toilet rolls. (bring your own shower wash) There is an electric filter coffee machine (please bring the V shape filters and coffee) Outside is a full size table with parasol, 4 chairs and 2 high back reclining chairs - all with pads. A Bar B Q is provided (please bring charcoal).
Loch Lomond is certainly one of the world’s, and Scotland’s, most stunning and internationally renowned locations at the southern end of the Scottish Highlands. The country’s largest fresh water loch is now part of Scotland’s first National Park – an area where for centuries, visitors have traveled to, taken in spectacular scenery, sail, walk and climb – and simply breathe fresh air.
  • Just came back from a week stay at Simon’s lodge. The description was accurate and we had no trouble with self- check in. The cabin is well equipped, very clean and with enough space for 5-6 people. We had really nice weather so we could even enjoy the surprisingly warm water in the loch. You can find many walking trails nearby, the view on the loch from Conic hill in Balmaha is amazing. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that there was almost no possibility to walk with our stroller. The only road from Balmaha is very narrow and despite the fact, that it ends in Rowardennan, also with frequent traffic. If you are planning to do a lot of trips, you must count with 15-20 minutes drive to Balmaha and with 1 hour drive to Stirling. In summary we had a really nice week at Simon’s lodge and would recommend it to others with no doubt.

  • A super place to stay. Lots of space in the lodge. Great views of the Loch. Simon our host was excellent, great communication and very informative. Sainsbury's deliver to the address so we didn't stress about shopping. The pub/hotel next door wasn't too bad either, would suggest to book a table on the weekend though, as it was very busy.

    Susan2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely lodge & setting!

    Claire2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cosy and well equipped with lots of kitchen appliances and crockery, which was great as we did nearly all the cooking at home. The location is beautiful, a short walk to the base of Ben Lomond which we climbed on the Saturday in the mist. We were lucky that the holiday park wasn't too busy, it was very peaceful (except on the Friday when the lawns were being mowed and strimmers were out in force all day!) however it was a bank holiday weekend so I'm sure they were getting ready for that. All in all a really lovely break away from it all, would highly recommend, thank you Simon. Gulli

  • Just returned from a fabulous stay at Sandwood Lodge. Such a lovely property in a peaceful and beautiful setting. The lodge was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Great communication from Simon; the lodge is very accurately described, it was quick and easy to organise things before our arrival and also to get access to the lodge when we got there. The only shame is that we couldn’t stay longer. We will be back!! Such a happy and relaxing weekend. Thank you, keep up the good work! :)

A stunning location with open plan living, a balcony overlooking a pond and the 18th hole of a golf course. The scenic beauty of west Scotland is on your doorstep. Available only for the week 10th April-17th April 2016.
Ground floor includes an entrance lobby ideal for boots etc, even bicycles. Hallway leads to 3 bedrooms (2 twins and a double), all en suite. All have hair dryers, wardrobes a vanity unit, bedside tables. 2 have a TV. Master bedroom has 2 bathrobes and towels are provided in all bathrooms. The rear twin and double bedrooms have French doors leading out onto a paved patio area. There is also a utility cupboard which includes the boiler and is great for drying wet clothes. The first floor living area is open plan. There is a very well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all cooking utensils you are likely to require. There is no need to bring anything with you. There is a below counter fridge and separate freezer. The dining table comfortably seats 8. The seating area furnished with leather sofas and chairs, coffee table, B&O TV/DVD player accommodates 8. There is an outdoor balcony area on the first floor with table and 4 chairs overlooking the pond and 18th green and clubhouse. There is an area on the first floor to one side where there is a fold down double bed which works fantastically for an extra 2 guests. There is a shower room and toilet on the first floor. There is a baby gate to the stairs. Full wifi throughout the lodge. Telephones in all rooms though expensive to use as part of the hotel.
West of Scotland only a 20 minute drive to Glasgow airport and about 45 minutes to Glasgow's centre and all that has to offer. But what you are really after here is surely the beauty of Loch Lomond and the surrounding areas. Loch Lomond is stunning. There is a tour boat to take from nearby Balloch which takes you up and down the Loch. It's really beautiful. Balloch is a sweet town offering various pubs, restaurants and shops including a supermarket. On the east coast of Loch Lomond is the Ben itself a fairly easy 3 hour hike with amazing views 360. Connick Hill at Balmaha is easier and very accessible with great views from the summit. Up the west coast there is Luss (famous from the TV series Take the High Road. Ferries run from here. Also Tarbet (ferries), across to Arrochar, over 'The Rest and Be Thankful' pass to Loch Fyne and the original and well worth the trip Loch Fyne Oyster Bar - on;y have the exceptional value patter of Fruits de Mer in my opinion. Inveraray Castle etc lies a few further miles on. North of Loch Lomond about a 2 hour drive but well worth it is the awe inspiring Glen Coe. Pictured in James Bond Skyfall. A trip to the wilds of Scotland not to missed. There is so much to view and walk and climb. But don't forget to chill with a wee dram of Scottish hospitality too.
